Best Time to Visit

Transportation
• Airplane: The nearest airport is Shangri-La Diqing Airport. From there, you can take a bus or charter a car to Deqin, which takes about 4 hours.
• Bus: Direct buses to Deqin are available from Shangri-La, Lijiang, Dali, and other places. They are affordable but take longer.
• Self-driving: The Yunnan-Tibet route (National Highway 214) is in good condition, but the mountain roads are rugged and require cautious driving. It is recommended to choose an off-road vehicle and check road conditions in advance.
