🏯 Duyun Green Expo Garden exceeded my expectations with its surprises. It combines the elegance of Jiangnan gardens with the wild charm of Qiannan’s mountains and waters. From the misty lake views in the morning to the red maples at dusk, every frame is a picture worth capturing.
【🎟️Tickets and Transportation】
🎫 Tickets: 20 RMB per person for non-Qiannan residents; group purchase of 10 or more people is 10 RMB per person. Qiannan residents enter free with ID. It is recommended to buy tickets online in advance to save queuing time.
🚗 Transportation: Bus Line 1 runs from the West Bus Station directly to the East Gate (7:30-19:00), Line 2 connects the train station and East Gate (8:00-20:00), get off at Luobang Station, only 800 meters from the East Gate. For self-driving, navigate to East or West Gate, 🅿️ parking fee is 3 RMB/hour, Qiannan license plates can enter the park directly.
📷 Photography: Use a wide-angle lens for panoramic shots of the Seven Star Tower and S-shaped bridge, a telephoto lens to capture details of the exhibition garden buildings, and don’t forget a polarizing filter in autumn to enhance the layers of red maple leaves🍁.
【📸Photography Routes and Check-in Spots】
The Green Expo Garden is very large; it is recommended to take the sightseeing bus (25 RMB per person, hop-on-hop-off) to tour, focusing on three routes:
🚩 Spring Cherry Blossom Route (March-April): Enter from the East Gate straight to Cherry Blossom Valley🌸, a 2000-meter cherry blossom avenue with petals fluttering. The stream and cherry blossoms in Shenzhen Garden are a recognized photo spot. After 3 PM, the light softens for shooting the oilseed rape terraces and clear water in Guizhou Garden, creating a painterly effect. At dusk, shoot backlit cherry blossom silhouettes at Ying’en Bridge.
🚩 Autumn Colorful Forest Route (October-November): The thousand-meter red maple🍁 near the East Gate is “Duyun’s most beautiful kilometer.” By late October, the red maple index exceeds 60%, driving through feels like walking inside a painting. Shaanxi Garden’s ginkgo and Hubei Garden’s “Yellow Crane Tower” frame together, Jiangsu Garden’s white walls and black tiles reflect orange-yellow autumn leaves🍂, a “Little Jiangnan” replica. The reed flowers at Hefeng Pavilion with dawn redwoods and the lake and mountain scenery at Yanzu Bridge are perfect for shooting tranquil atmosphere photos.
🚩 Cultural Garden Route: Zhejiang Garden’s ink painting backdrop, Qiannan Garden’s ethnic elements, and Tibet Garden’s prairie style each have unique features. The music fountain⛲ next to the water stage (open at night) with lighting is great for long exposure shots. Climb the Seven Star Tower for a panoramic view of the entire garden layout.
【🍲Food and Accommodation Recommendations: From the Garden to the City】
🍱 On-site dining: The outdoor barbecue and specialty hot pot at Fangcaodi Resort Base have a good reputation; you can bring your own ingredients and use the self-service kitchen. Qiannan Feast Restaurant is lakeside, where you can enjoy traditional Bouyei and Miao ethnic dishes like sour soup fish while photographing the lake view, offering better value than expected.
✔️ Must-try in the city: Yang’s sour soup beef and Dushan shrimp sour beef are local specialties. For late-night snacks, go to Wenchang Pavilion for barbecue, paired with handmade ice jelly from Yaba Street to refresh your palate.
🏨 Accommodation: For morning photography, choose Qingyun Lake Hotel with balconies facing the forest park; although the facilities are a bit old, it is quiet and clean. In the city, the recommended Ganglong Hotel is near Shiban Street, with river view rooms perfect for shooting Baizi Bridge at night, surrounded by dense food options. If budget allows, try Luyunyuan Homestay, which includes Qiannan specialty meal packages.
【📌Useful Tips】
🕓 Opening hours are 9:00-18:00. It is recommended to enter before 9 AM to shoot the morning mist and avoid afternoon crowds.
❗ Restaurants like Qiannan Feast and Fangcaodi require advance reservations, especially on weekends. There are few drinking water points in the park, so bring your own water bottle.
✏️ Combined tour recommendation: Take the bus from the South Gate directly to Qinhan Film City (10 minutes), shoot ancient-style photos, then return and visit the Tea Expo Garden on the way.
The beauty of Green Expo Garden lies in the changing seasons. Spring cherry blossoms and autumn red maples are limited-time surprises, but the integration of exhibition gardens and natural scenery is the norm. Spend a day strolling slowly with your camera; you will fill your memory card and gain the greenery and poetry of Qiannan.
