Po Kwu Wan 曝罟灣 Adventure

It’s a hidden bay of Sai Kung, next to Sheung Yiu Trail and close to high island reservoir. It’s special with its half moon shape concrete embankment.

Starting point located in Sai Kung Country Park, follow the signs to Pak Tam Chung Nature Trail（北潭涌自然教育徑）/ Sheung Yiu Family Walk （上窯家樂徑）, passing a beautiful lake-like creeks heading to Sheung Yiu Folk Museum and the swamp with mangroves.

First stop would be Hei Tsz Wan （起子灣）pier. From there, we spontaneously took an adventure trip, coasteering to the direction of Po Kwu Wan. It’s actually pretty straightforward, just walk along the coastline.

We started early on Sunday morning, bump into a handful of people at Po Kwu Wan and few groups at Yuen Ng Fan view point, only a couple of fishermen while coasteering and non when hiking out to Man Yee Road.

Distance: approx 6km

Difficulty: Easy Intermediate

Duration: approx 3.5 hours

How to get there:
- Take bus 94 heading to Wong Shek Pier from Sai Kung; Get off at Sheung Yiu Bus Stop
- If you’re driving and want to be as close to the starting point as possible, go early and you may find a spot at Sai Kung Country Park Visitor Centre
- Or you could park at the metres car parks along Tai Mong Zai Road and hop on to taxi or bus 94
