[Kamakura] Enjoy seasonal flowers at Meigetsuin Temple [Japan Heritage]

📍Meigetsuin Temple

Meigetsuin Temple is located about a 10-minute walk from Kita-Kamakura Station.

Kamakura is famous for its hydrangeas, and this temple is one of the most famous hydrangea spots along with Hasedera Temple!

The temple is known for the blue hydrangeas that bloom here, making it known as Meigetsuin Blue.

There are 2,500 hydrangeas in the temple grounds.

During the temple season, it is very crowded even if you go before 10am!

The best time to visit is to arrive right at the opening time, or just before the end.

A little before the hydrangea season, the Japanese irises are very famous, and you can enter the garden at the back of the fondo, which is usually closed to the public, for an additional fee only during the season!

There are also bamboo forests and when I went there, there were squirrels, so I recommend it because you can spend a very relaxing and peaceful time♡
