Shuhe Ancient Town is located 4 kilometers northwest of Lijiang Ancient Town, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province. It is a small market town surrounding Lijiang Ancient Town and has a history of thousands of years.

Shuhe Ancient Town, or “Shaowu” in the Naxi language, means a village below a high mountain.

Shuhe Ancient Town is located in Lijiang City, Yunnan Province. It is an important stopover on the ancient tea horseback trade route. It is one of the oldest settlements of the Naxi people and has a long history. Shuhe Ancient Town is an important part of Lijiang's cultural heritage.

The buildings and shops in the ancient town are in Chinese style. They are beautifully designed and renovated. There are many cute cafes, pastries, clothing stores, and shops. The air is cool and comfortable to walk around.

Shuhe Ancient Town was selected as an important part of the "World Cultural Heritage" of Lijiang Ancient Town by UNESCO in 2005. Shuhe Ancient Town was ranked as "China's Charming City·The City with the Best Livable Environment" and "National AAAA Scenic Area"
