Nagoya, Japan|A well-known breakfast shop

Nagoya people attach great importance to breakfast, so the local area has developed a unique breakfast culture. As long as you order a cup of coffee or a drink, the store will give you toast or even a sandwich. You can have a hot breakfast for the price of a drink, which is really cost-effective. The most famous of them is the "Comeda Coffee Shop".

As of today, there are more than 950 branches of Comeda Coffee in Japan. The average price of a cup of coffee in the store is around ¥500. Comeda's free toast is served with boiled eggs, egg salad, and red bean paste. Although it is a chain store, it pays great attention to details. The coffee cups use Japan's famous heat-resistant Arita ware, and the cup edges are also specially designed so that customers can enjoy the coffee more smoothly.

Since there are so many branches and most of them open at 7:00, it is very easy to fit in with the schedule. Therefore, during this trip to Nagoya, I chose to patronize Comeda Coffee two mornings as a good start. When I came on the first day, there were already people lining up for breakfast before 7:00, which shows how popular it is.

A cup of coffee early in the morning can certainly refresh people, and unexpectedly the toast that comes with it is also of high quality. The surface of the extremely thick toast is toasted to a crispy state, and the butter that has been applied in advance has entered a semi-melted state. The soft bread is accompanied by the aroma of burnt bread and butter. It is simple but very satisfying. I personally recommend adding egg salad to the ingredients to add a smooth taste to the toast.

Another signature dessert of Komeda Coffee is the "Ice and Fire" dessert, which is made of freshly baked Danish bread with milk ice cream and red bean paste filling. The Danish bread is made of 64 layers of puff pastry, full of butter fragrance and rich taste. With the half-melted ice cream, you can immediately feel the realm of "Ice and Fire Five Heavens". I also tried a seasonal limited edition Ice and Fire. The chocolate-flavored Baumkuchen is soft but slightly sweet, and the sour orange jam just neutralizes the sweetness. But in comparison, I personally prefer the original flavor of Ice and Fire Five Heavens.
