The only place in the world where you can observe manta rays is Kaiyukan!

Kaiyukan Devil Ray

What is a devil ray?
Family: Ophiopogonidae.
A type of large ray found in areas from southern Japan to the East China Sea, South China Sea, and Hawaii.
Their distinctive "spool-like" head fins on both ends of their heads.
When fully grown, their bodies can reach up to 3m in width.

There are few cases of devil rays being kept in captivity, and currently, Kaiyukan is the only aquarium in the world where you can observe their ecology!

Two of these precious devil rays, a male and a female, are kept at Kaiyukan, a world first! They have even succeeded in becoming pregnant in captivity!

They are expected to give birth around February 2023, but there is currently no news of them giving birth.

There may only be a short time left to see pregnant devil rays.
