Review of traveling in Osaka
A city full of fun, delicious food, and heartfelt smiles 💖

Hello everyone! Today, we’re taking you to Osaka, a charming city in Japan that has it all—fun, tasty food, and beautiful places that anyone who visits will surely fall in love with. Osaka is a city full of charm; no matter where you walk, you’ll find vibrant energy, laughter, and the tempting aroma of delicious food. The more you try, the more delightful it gets, way beyond what you expected!

Starting the journey at Kansai Airport with the ICOCA card, a super convenient travel companion

As soon as the plane lands at Kansai Airport, we didn’t waste any time and quickly bought the ICOCA card, which is like a versatile prepaid card that you can use on trains, buses, and convenience stores in Osaka with ease. This card makes traveling so much easier—no need to worry about buying separate tickets multiple times. We really loved it.

The train ride into the city center was so enjoyable, with beautiful views on both sides, stunning buildings, and a perfect blend of modern city life and nature.

Cozy accommodation in the Namba area, the heart of fun

We chose to stay at a small but cozy hotel in the Namba area. This neighborhood is full of restaurants, trendy cafes, and plenty of shopping spots. It’s very convenient to get around, close to several subway stations.

The room wasn’t very big but was perfectly arranged. After a full day of walking, the soft bed was incredibly comfortable. On the first night, we opened the window to admire the sparkling city lights—so romantic and heartwarming.

Starting the first meal with takoyaki at Dotonbori, a must-try deliciousness!

If you come to Osaka and don’t eat takoyaki, it’s like you haven’t really been here! Dotonbori is a paradise for takoyaki lovers, filled with authentic takoyaki shops. The aroma of sauce and fresh octopus is mouthwatering.

The first bite was pure bliss—crispy on the outside, soft inside, with big, bouncy octopus pieces, drizzled with sweet and savory sauce and creamy mayonnaise. This is the flavor that made us walk around Dotonbori hunting for the best takoyaki!

Okonomiyaki, the Japanese pizza full of warmth

Another dish we fell in love with is okonomiyaki, a Japanese pancake mixed with cabbage, pork, egg, and a special sauce, topped with mayonnaise and sprinkled with seaweed.

We found a small shop where the owner made it himself. The aroma was so appetizing, and the taste was comforting, like a meal made by mom. The owner was kind, making this meal a memorable experience we won’t forget.

Enjoy shopping at Shinsaibashi, a hub of fashion and cute items

Shinsaibashi is a charming shopping district full of appeal, with famous brand stores, local shops, cute cafes, and lots of souvenirs.

We strolled and shopped while sipping iced green tea, having a great time. We got lots of cute souvenirs to bring home, and the prices were more affordable than we expected.

A relaxing day at Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine, experiencing tranquility and authentic Japan

When we wanted to relax, we went to Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine, a beautiful bright red shrine with a long history. The atmosphere was peaceful and shady, with a cool breeze.

We wrote wishes on ema plaques, praying for health and good luck. The calm and relaxing feeling here recharged us fully.

Ultimate fun at Universal Studios Japan

Universal Studios Japan is a paradise for amusement park lovers! There’s the Harry Potter zone that feels like stepping into a magical world, and the colorful Super Nintendo World full of fun rides.

We enjoyed thrilling rides, laughed with friends, and took photos with adorable characters. It was such a fun day that we lost track of time.

Nighttime at Dotonbori with lights and lively energy

At night, Dotonbori shines with colorful neon lights, filled with music and laughter. We loved walking along the canal, tasting snacks, and taking photos with the iconic Glico sign.

The atmosphere is lively and romantic at the same time, making us feel that Osaka truly never sleeps.
