📞Hello Hello, I heard you and responded.

✨️On a free day, I invite you to visit the Ancient City Floating Market, symbolized by the steep blue bridge.

✨️Ancient City Floating Market is part of Ancient City, the world's largest open-air museum. It gathers old wooden buildings from across the country to create a floating city. This floating market reflects the lifestyle and culture of the riverside communities of the past and is a space that blends ancient Thai culture with contemporary art.

✨️The COVID-19 crisis temporarily halted the floating market, but it has provided an opportunity to transform it into a learning center for diverse art. It has been developed into a "Community Theatre" and a Life Museum, where visitors can participate in exchanges and learn about Thai culture from a new perspective. The first phase was launched on January 11, 2025, with Zone 1: Culture, offering a variety of activities such as performing arts classes, painting, seminars, film screenings, music, and more.

✨️Ancient City Floating Market is also a space for learning, contemporary art and culture exhibitions, historical tourism, and more.

Getting there: Take the BTS Skytrain to Bang Phli Housing Station. Then, take a Songthaew (bus number 36) for 10 baht.

The Ancient City is a world-class open-air museum covering over 800 rai. Construction began in 1963 and took over 10 years to complete its main structure. The Ancient City Floating Market, part of the Ancient City, was born from Khun Lek's explorations of various locales throughout Thailand, gaining a deep understanding of the local landscape and culture. Impressed by the remaining riverside cities, Khun Lek used this as the concept for the construction of the Ancient City Floating City and Floating Market in Bang Pu, Samut Prakan Province.

Initially, construction began by collecting surviving wooden buildings from various areas and arranging them to resemble the traces of riverside towns in the Central region. Ancient murals and photographs from the reigns of King Rama IV and King Rama V were also studied to ensure the architectural landscape was complete and consistent with the atmosphere of the thriving floating city. The construction of the Ancient City Floating Market laid the foundation for the city's development. An open-air museum is the most effective and precise way to reflect the lifestyle and culture of the people, closely aligning with historical and cultural truths. This aims to preserve the cultural heritage of Siam through valuable architecture from all regions of Thailand.

Floating markets and the culture of Thai markets, which have always existed alongside riverside communities, continue to be a popular destination for both Thais and foreigners. Muang Boran Floating Market aims to preserve the "way of life of riverside communities" by collaborating to enhance the "Thai floating market" and create international recognition. Visiting this floating market is like exploring Muang Boran, a historical park that has existed for over six decades. The transformation has transformed it into a world-class open-air museum, offering visitors the opportunity to explore ancient sites from all over the country.
