I was deeply moved by the exhibition on pre-liberation Gyeongseong at the Seoul Museum of History. The exhibition showcased the cityscape and lifestyle of Gyeongseong during the Japanese colonial period through various photographs, maps, and artifacts. The pain of colonialism, hidden beneath the splendor, was evident throughout. 🏞️

In particular, I was able to see how the introduction of modern architecture and new civilizations transformed the lives of the people of that time, while also vividly conveying the constraints and oppression of that era. I realized once again that Gyeongseong was not simply another name for old Seoul, but a city steeped in historical scars and memories. This exhibition was a valuable opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of pre-liberation Gyeongseong.📚
