Mid-October to early November is Seoul's most enchanting season. When the city's ginkgo trees are bathed in a blanket of golden yellow, the walls of Gyeongbokgung Palace transform into a dreamy, photo-op-worthy path.
This path, stretching along the palace walls from Gwanghwamun Gate to Hyoja-dong and Samcheong-dong, is lined with ginkgo trees, swaying in the autumn breeze, creating a scene of golden carpets. Whether in the morning light, the afternoon twilight, or as the sunset paints the sky a crimson, any photo captures the scenery like a movie scene.
📍 Recommended Route:
Gwanghwamun Station Exit → Gyeongbokgung Palace Outer Wall Promenade → Samcheong-dong Café (visit the Blue House Square and the National Folk Museum along the way).
☕ Tip:
If you're tired of walking, stop by a café in Samcheong-dong. Take in the interplay of golden ginkgo and crimson maple leaves. Grab a hot latte and let the flavors of autumn slowly permeate your heart.
📸 Photography Tips:
• The least crowded hours before 9 AM, when the sunlight is soft and perfect for portraits.
• Wearing a beige, white, or dark brown jacket will soften the overall look.
