#fallingforfall History is alive and kicking at the National Gallery Singapore!
I recently had the opportunity to play around with my camera for a day aroung central Singapore. As I was in the City Hall area, I decided to pay the National Gallery a visit. The last time I visited was for a college assignment! That's when I took the first featured picture here: during SG50!
The National Gallery boasts the largest(!!) collection of Singaporean and regional (especially Southeast Asian) art in the WORLD. I particularly enjoy the Nanyang style of painting, so similar fans should also head down and checkout the permanent exhibition 'Siapa Nama Kamu' at the DBS Gallery.
My favourite part of the gallery will always be the stunning architecture, and how we can see beautiful pieces of history among fine, modern architecture. It used to be on the site of the former Supreme Court and City Hall, opened in 1939 and 1929, respectively.
A lot of dedication, thought, and respect have been put into the work. The architects and designers have really celebrated the history and national significance of these 2 former sites!
Check out some fabulous photos I took of the view from the rooftop of the gallery.
