Make sure to research Osaka Expo before going. If you only buy tickets without reserving pavilions, you'll face long lines everywhere and might struggle to get in. Food options other than convenience stores are typically priced at 2,000 yen or more, which was quite shocking, almost like being overseas.

In contrast, Expo '70 Commemorative Park is less crowded, so I personally recommend visiting both as a set. You can also learn about the history of the time.
