Taipei Mandarin Oriental Hotel|A revisit after five years! From "disappointment" to "absolute favorite."

Five years ago, I stayed here and quietly added it to my "blacklist." But recently, my best friend insisted that "it's different now," so I decided to give it another shot with mixed feelings—and wow, it was a complete turnaround! I have to shout: MO, how did you secretly evolve into something so amazing? 😱

All the previous "issues" have been fixed ✅

• The rooms finally "get it"!
I stayed in a "Deluxe Room" and was pleasantly surprised by the upgraded storage: the wardrobe is now deep enough to fit two 28-inch suitcases, the makeup table has transformed from a "narrow, useless board" into a "spacious double desk," and even the hairdryer is neatly tucked into a drawer (no more bending down to find an outlet!).
The best part? The air feels fresh, unlike an old hotel. Apparently, they've been renovating over the years, replacing curtains with dust-resistant materials and upgrading bedding to more breathable fabrics. It’s so comfortable that you’ll want to stay in bed all day!

• Service has gone from "arrogant" to "elderly-style pampering."
During check-in, they proactively mentioned, "We remember you preferred a high floor last time, so we’ve arranged a corner room on the 20th floor for you." When I requested a room change, the staff moved my luggage with a smile, saying, "If there’s anything else you’re not comfortable with, just ring the service bell—we’re here 24/7." Even when I called late at night for an extra pillow, it arrived within five minutes, delivered with the gentleness of a caring neighbor. 😭
Upon departure, I received a handwritten card and a small tin of tea, with a note saying, "We look forward to your next visit with family—we can prepare children’s slippers for you." The attention to detail brought tears to my eyes.

The "never disappointing" highlights remain stellar 🔥

• Breakfast so good you’ll want to stay forever!
The buffet now includes classic beef noodle soup (with melt-in-your-mouth beef tendon) and a new "taro lover’s paradise" sweet soup (taro balls + purple yam puree + coconut milk). Even the croissants in the European section come in a "freshly baked, warm" option. My breakfast-loving brain says "leaving while holding onto the wall" is the only respectful way to finish. 😋

• SPA that takes you to "cloud nine."
I chose the "Oriental Herbal Treatment," where the therapist first asked, "Do you prefer a strong mugwort scent or a fresh citrus aroma?" When massaging stiff areas around my shoulders and neck, she proactively said, "Let me add three more minutes here for you." After the session, they served hot ginger tea and handmade almond candy, leaving me so relaxed that I practically floated out the door.

Conclusion: Calling it "Taipei’s best" is no exaggeration!

From "design vs. practicality mismatch" to "luxury infused with thoughtfulness," you can feel that MO has been quietly listening to guest feedback. Perfect for those looking to experience "meticulously pampered, luxurious vacations." Be sure to request "renovated room types" in advance and opt for the weekend "breakfast + SPA discount" package for unbeatable value.

The current MO finally makes sense why people say, "Once you stay here, you’ll never want to leave." 😭 Next time I’m in Taipei, this place is locked in as my "backyard retreat."~
