Panoramic Peak Experience at Nangang Mountain

#chinatravel If you’re looking for a rewarding city hike that’s both scenic and convenient, Nangang Mountain in Taipei City is a great choice. Located between Nangang and Xinyi districts, this peak reaches about 375 meters and is part of Taiwan’s Xiaobaiyue list. The main trail, known as the Nangang Mountain Traverse, links up with nearby peaks like Xiangshan, Jiuwufeng, and Thumb Mountain, creating a fun and varied ridge walk.

The path is well maintained with stone steps and signs, and you’ll pass through shaded areas, rocky sections, and multiple viewpoints. Jiuwufeng has a cool boulder with carved characters, while Thumb Mountain offers a wide-open 360-degree view over Taipei 101 and the surrounding cityscape.

The full hike is around 6 to 7 kilometers and takes roughly 4 to 5 hours, but shorter routes are easy to plan. It’s a perfect mix of nature and skyline views, right on the edge of the city. Wear comfy shoes and bring water.
