Fashionable Omotesando's Weekend Farmers Market Aoyama Farmers Market

#GreatPlacesToGoMarch2025

In the stylish Omotesando, known for its collection of boutiques, there is surprisingly a weekend farmers market—a unique presence. I decided to check out what makes the Aoyama Farmers Market special.

There are several regularly held small farmers markets within Tokyo, and the Farmer’s Market on Aoyama Street is one of them. It is set up every Saturday and Sunday at the UNU United Nations University Plaza and is currently the most popular farmers market in Tokyo.

The market has about a hundred stalls. Besides produce grown using natural and organic farming methods, fresh vegetables and fruits directly delivered from farms, and processed agricultural products like jams, there are also freshly baked handmade breads and handicrafts. Farmers from various regions not only grow vegetables but also have a great sense of design, decorating their stalls in a colorful and enjoyable way, making it feel nothing like a typical grocery shopping trip!

There are also food trucks on site that prepare various ready-to-eat dishes using natural ingredients, allowing visitors to enjoy delicious meals while strolling through the market. It’s highly recommended to come and explore.
