From Tokyo to Mount Fuji, an emotional 3-night, 4-day travelogue

Riding the Enoden to Kamakura, making wishes at Sensoji, and gazing at Tokyo from Mori Tower

Day 1|Experiencing the charm of Tokyo starting at Sensoji

Asakusa Sensoji is one of Tokyo’s oldest temples, and taking a photo in front of Kaminarimon is a must!
Passing through the gate, you’ll find the Nakamise shopping street, where you can enjoy looking at dolls, yukatas, and traditional Japanese sweets.
I bought a savory ‘injeolmi-flavored rice cracker’ and headed to Sensoji.

At the main hall of Sensoji, lighting incense and making a wish calms the mind.
I bought a small amulet and hung it on my bag, which somehow made me feel more secure during the trip.

📍 TIP: If you go around 8 a.m., it’s quiet and the sunlight shines beautifully!

Day 2|A day stroll to Kamakura on the Enoden

On this day, I took the JR from Tokyo Station early in the morning to Enoshima Station.
The goal was simple! A romantic journey riding the Enoden all the way to Kamakura.

The Enoden slowly runs along narrow tracks between the seaside and houses.
The sparkling sea outside the window and passing cats made my heart feel warm and fuzzy.

In Kamakura, I visited Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine,
then leisurely strolled through the long shopping street while enjoying the famous ‘cream puff bread.’
Finally, I walked to Kotokuin to see the Great Buddha and snapped a commemorative photo in front of the giant statue📸

📍 TIP: Sitting in the very front seat on the Enoden offers the best view!

Day 3|A day trip to Hakone with a view of Mount Fuji

Early in the morning, I took the Romancecar from Shinjuku to Hakone!
Though it was cloudy, the excitement of seeing Mount Fuji gradually appear from the train window is still vivid.

After arriving at Hakone-Yumoto Station, I took the Hakone Tozan Railway up the winding mountain path,
visited the sulfur fields of Owakudani, and ate a black egg.
(It’s said that eating one of those eggs adds years to your life… I ate two, so I’m good for 200 years…😉)

Then I took the Hakone Pirate Ship across Lake Ashi.
Just as we reached the other side, the sun peeked out, clearly revealing Mount Fuji—a truly breathtaking moment.

Day 4|Ending Tokyo’s night at Mori Tower

On the last day of the trip, I went up to the Mori Tower observation deck in Roppongi Hills.
An overwhelming view where you can see Tokyo Tower, Skytree, and even Mount Fuji in the distance.
I recommend going near sunset rather than during the day! The city bathed in golden light was stunning.

I also stopped by the Mori Art Museum briefly, where the stylish exhibitions and quiet atmosphere helped clear my mind.
Tokyo always seems to end with such a quiet, moving experience.
