A must-visit in Yangshuo for families with kids! Discover the parent-child secrets in this mountain and water fairy tale

A mother's greatest wish is to put the world into her child's eyes👀 For our kid's 5th birthday, we headed straight to Yangshuo, known as "the best landscape under heaven," and started a fairy-tale-like family trip in the karst wonderland~

📍Yulong River Bamboo Rafting
Address: Yulong Village, Baisha Town, Yangshuo County, Guilin City
Ticket Price: 160-320 RMB/raft (depending on the route)
🛶 Must-try: Private rafting at 7 AM! Renting the entire Yulong River
Sitting on the bamboo raft with our little one, watching the millennia-old landscape unfold before our eyes. The kid suddenly reached out to scoop the "second mountain" in the water, splashing us all 😂 The boatman grandpa also taught him to recognize: that one is "Elephant Trunk Hill," that one is "Moon Hill"... in the end, he named all the peaks after Ultraman characters hhh
✨ Hidden activity: Play "nature treasure hunt" with the kid! Find small fish in the water, count the egrets on the shore, and we even discovered a nest of ducklings~ 90 minutes was nowhere near enough to play!

📍Fuli Bridge
Address: Inside Yulong River Scenic Area, Yangshuo County
Admission: Free
🌈 This 500-year-old ancient bridge actually became the kid’s playground! Standing on the Ming Dynasty stone bridge, counting small boats passing through the bridge arch, imitating the boatman shouting "Crossing the bridge~" with echoes reverberating through the valley. The shallow water under the bridge is perfect for playing; we brought a picnic mat and ate osmanthus cakes by the shore while watching the kid chase butterflies and turn into a meme 🐰

🌅 Best spot to watch the Li River sunset:
Yangshuo Guanlian Wharf (Free)
Golden hour from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM! Prepared a small bucket for the kid to collect pebbles, but he insisted on "bringing the mountains and waters home," ending up stacking a row of mini peaks⛰️ When the sunset dyed the river orange soda color, the little one suddenly said, "Mom, are we living inside a fairy’s painting?" Ahhh, my heart melted!

🍴 Must-eat for families on West Street:
Sister Xie’s Beer Fish (80 RMB per person)
Recommended dishes: Sword Bone Fish + Lijuan Beer combo 🍺
Kids can enjoy the tomato flavor that goes perfectly with rice! There are also intangible cultural heritage sugar paintings and Zhuang ethnic embroidery DIY on the street. We bought a bamboo cicada that makes sounds and made the kids next door drool~

📸 Photo Tips:
1. Dress the kid in blue/white Hanfu for amazing shots on Yulong River
2. The light is softest at 3 PM on Fuli Bridge
3. Bring a transparent umbrella prop by the Li River for stunning photos

The biggest gain from this trip was realizing that the most beautiful scenery isn’t on the phone but in the shining eyes of our child✨ Who says traveling with kids can’t be poetic and adventurous? Yangshuo is our perfect answer!
