3 of 61 Bars & Pubs in Philadelphia

We were planning on eating at a nearby place but it was closed. Saw this place and stopped in. What a great find. The bartender offered good advice on things we must see and do. Staff was very welcoming. Low key atmosphere and food was so delicious and reasonably priced. We will be back. Highly recommend.

This place just made my list of top restaurants to visit when in Philly! It isn't a very big place, but it had plenty of tables and a nice bar. I had their "1518 burger" which has provolone, mushrooms, carmelized onions, & peppercorn mayo. It was DIVINE. Many of those around us were eating either mussels or wings... I saw on the menu that they were only $6 during that time. BIG portions for that price! They had steaks, crab cakes, etc... Something for everyone and the orices were great, I thought... Definitely recommend

Popped in a couple of times as staying locally. Very welcoming, lots of TVs and beers available - what more do you need right? Service was good and the bar food was more than great. Keep up the good work!

Celebrated a coworker’s birthday today at 1518 Bar and Grill. The restaurant was great. Service was wonderful. The place is small, only about a dozen tables and I understand it is packed every day for lunch. Restaurant has a loft type feel with exposed duct work, etc. The menu was pretty extensive - appetizers ($7-$10) soups, salads and sandwiches at lunch ($8-$12) with entrees ($14-$25) after 5:00 p.m. The restaurant also serves Brunch on Saturday and Sunday. There is also a full bar which is great for happy hour or a nightcap.

We stopped in as the place we wanted to go to was super busy and we saw that it wasn't too busy in this place. We got a beer and some apps. The food was okay - nothing to go back for, but the people that worked there were the most unfriendly people. We would have stayed for dinner if it was different, but had beer and left. Would never go back

Great place to eat. 5 star food at a local place. Eat here 6 times whilst on our holiday, that should say it all. Food, beer and wine are all excellent, prices are reasonable, and staff are absolutely tremendous. Many thanks to Marika and all other servers who's names I cannot remember. Forgot, chocolate Manhattan is absolutely fabulous according to my better half. Go here, it really is great.

Stumbled upon 1518 right after it opened and I go there often for lunch. The food is excellent, (especially the short rib sandwich and the chicken cobb salad) and the prices are very reasonable. It's a small place so I try to go just before 1:00 when the 12:00 crowd is leaving.

"Excellent!" our ebullient server Eddie said, as he took our orders & made sure my "not too spicy" Bloody Mary was mixed just right. Dark & quiet with a long pub bar & good Philly art & photos on the walls, 1518 was a great find for Sunday brunch & our paper-thin omelets with crispy strips of bacon & a pile of crunchy home fries were cooked to perfection.

great food and great service. A great bar. very close to the Club Quarters hotel. The lunch, get there early. the Hamburgers were wonderful.

WE went to this restaurant because Oyster House was too crowded. I had a delicious piece of salmon. Food is real comfort food. Big portions and a great value

This place was a great little stop while we were walking around enjoying Philadelphia. Chivalry was not dead today as a group of men moved to the bar so that we could have their table, as my mother was with us and there was nowhere else to sit-excellent, gentlemen! We had a variety of appetizers including the eggplant and crab cake and then had gorgeous salads for lunch! The service was nice and very accommodating and it was a super place to stop today.

Used this place for a dinner meeting. It was quiet enough for conversation; however, I wouldn't recommend it for large groups as it has a bit of an intimate atmosphere. The food was quite good, and reasonably priced. I and two others had braised short ribs on a butternut squash risotto (perfect menu choice for fall). The dish was properly cooked and reasonably priced at $22. They had a full bar, a good beer selection. The wine selection was a little small, but I think that most people could find something to like. The service was not imposing but friendly, prompt. This would also be a good spot for couples. The restroom was clean and orderly. I would return.

Nipped in mainly to get out of the unseasonable cold. Found great food a warm welcome and reasonably priced drinks. Had the hot wings which were exquisite and came with a Devine blue cheese dip. 3.50 draught beers and free wi-fi

I have eaten at 1518 for lunch several times. Their sandwiches and other lunch items are quite good, and nicely prepared and served. I have had the apple walnut salad, tuna melt and Thanksgiving Every Day (TED) sandwiches, and they were great. Atmosphere is good for a bar and grill, but it was too cold in the restaurant today, with cold air blowing on me at one of the tables near the door. Lunch service was pretty messed up. After promptly being seated and having our order taken (group of 3), we waited about 20 minutes before any meal was served, and then only two of the three of us got our lunch, with one lunch order being incorrectly filled (my partner was so famished, he decided to eat what came, rather than risk another 20 minute wait). The waiter apologized for the delay, and noted he had written down the wrong sandwich on the order book - he claimed they were backed up in the kitchen (place had a lunch crowd but only about half of the seats at the front tables were occupied). Our third member got his salad about five minutes later, and then it was not accompanied by the bread he had ordered. That was brought out another five minutes later. We liked the food, but probably would be reluctant to go back because of the delay in getting our food. Prices were fair, and quite low if you just stick with a salad or sandwich, most of which are in $8 to $8.50 range.

Really cool little place. A true find. Very nice decor and atmosphere. Met the owner and saw the huge wall of photos of him with many famous people! The food was outstanding and reasonable. Staff were very nice. This is a real Philly find!

We were looking for a casual place for a late lunch/early dinner after traveling all day. 1518 was recommended by our hotel. We could not have been more pleased with the recommendation. Front desk said to try the mussels. They were on the happy hour pricing. You can get them 3 ways, white wine garlic sauce, coconut ginger sauce or spicy red. We opted for the white wine garlic. Generous portion for 2 people to share. I had the apple walnut salad with grilled chicken (again a generous portion-I would have been satisfied with just the salad). My husband had the short rib sandwich which comes with either fries or a salad. He opted for the salad (which was a surprise to me!) The sandwich was excellent--very tender and flavorful.. Nice selection of draft beers and wine. Friendly and attentive service from Eddie. Next time in Philadelphia we will definitely return here.

Happy Hour is excellent value for money. Staff are friendly and keen to please. Food menu is reasonable and food quality is excellent !

Meeting my daughter for a casual dinner we looked for a place to eat when we stumbled upon this small restaurant/bar in downtown Philly, just a block from One Liberty Place. We ordered an app of Fried Calamari and both if us had burgers. The food was extremely fresh and tasted great. The burgers were cooked to perfection and served on fresh buns. The price was unbeatable as well. It's worth the visit. All this and the service was great!

I was staying at Club Quarters Hotel in Philadelphia. I asked the front desk manager to recommend a place for me to get a bite to eat and a drink. She sent me Sansom Ave and recommended 1518 Bar and Grill. It turned out to be an awesome experience. The eclectic interior is lined with the most peculiar collection of items that run the gamut from old-world paintings to Phili's baseball stuff to taxidermy and vintage oil lamps from the 1970's. Somehow it all works while sports play on the large flat-screen TVs. The very congenial bartender, Erin, created a fantastic cocktail to fit my specific taste (I don't drink beer and I don't like sugary drinks). I then ordered the mussels with a white wine and garlic broth. It's on the appetizer menu. I was expecting a small bowl but instead a full-on caldron of mussels was presented to me. I was dining alone and this portion was enough for two people to share. She informed that the portions at 1518 are very generous and that's when I saw this group of guys chowing down on massive platers of food. My best advice is to go with someone else or a group and you will only run into the locals in-the-know. Very few tourists (like myself) stumble upon this place. While it's basically a pub, the vibe, staff and food are really above par. I will return.

This place is very small inside and dark. However, our waiter was great. We went for Happy Hour and had good drinks and tried the perogies! They were delicious!

We were in town for a show on a Sat night. Had a reservation for 6:30 but didn't need it as there were pleanty of tables at that time. Very nice atmosphere with the bar and about 12 tables. Service was good throughout. Friendly and fast. My martini was great but our food was 50/50. The shrimp app was good, my boyfriends mushroom risoto was great but the chicken ontop was very dry. I had the turkey sandwich which was also kind of dry and lacked flavor.

Spent day in Center City and always looking for different places to try. Food was great, very good prices. Three of us had lunch with wine and bloody Mary’s and bill was $54. Eddie was awesome! Funny and took care of everything we needed timely. He also gave us some great ideas for things to do in town. Clean and nice atmosphere. We will be back!

Trying to find a place that wasn’t already packed on SB Sunday we found this place. Started with an order of wings. Could’ve been a bit spicier but I loved how crispy they were. My caprese sandwich got the spot as did the Bloody Mary. Staff was quite nice and very quick with refills.

Very cute, quaint bar. Our waitress was so attentive. We ordered BBQ wings, Joyful Almond, spring roll appetizer, and a Melon/Apple Fizz. My spring rolls unfortunately had a bit of grease that wasn't drained from them but she immediately took ownership and returned them to the chef. We also had lightly sauced BBQ wings that had great flavor. Our visit was short and sweet and I would return. Thank you Marika!

Ate here for diner and the food is good but not great. Service was good and quite reasonably priced, drinks and dinner plus 2 bottles of red was $160 for 4 so reasonably priced. The only complaint is the tables are a little close making it hard to fit in when the table behind you is occupied. I would certainly go back.

Came to Philly to see a game. Was given 2 for 1 drink coupons by hotel. Enjoyed our drinks and a appie that night (Friday the 24 of Nov). Great conversation with the gentleman Willie that owns the establishment. We returned Sunday after game for drinks and a snack. Once again great service by staff and wonderful conversation with Willie the proprietor. We shall visit again.

I would recommend this place. Me and my daughter was looking for a place to eat. In philly kitchen closes early. We were so happy to find out they still service food.

Not too noisy and great food in a great looking restaurant with all the Philadelphia feeling. I tried the Apple walnut salad with Salmon, it was great.

Just wanted the world to know that i am from Australia and visited this bar several months ago. The atmosphere was great, music was pumping and the food was delicious. I recommend anyone in the philly city drop in try the food and enjoy a drink. Definitely will visit again when i return to the USA,

Was looking for a place to eat on a Saturday night. Suggested to my cousin, didn't care where, let's find something. Came across 1518. So Happy we did. Great food... Marika was the best. Very laid back atmosphere. Will come there again

This is a great place to eat or have a drink in the city. Willie and Marika are the best and we are always greeted like old friends. There’s something for everyone and you can’t go wrong with any selection! Great for couples, friends, or families. 1518 will always be our favorite downtown!

As my wife and I were walking by on our way to a club down the street a gentleman out front told us he was just getting ready to start. I asked him start what? He then went on to tell us he's the DJ (DJ Filter) and what type of music he plays. Being a former DJ myself I was sold. Well we ended up closing the place. Our server was awesome, the music was great and the crowd was fun. Next time I'll go eat and then party there too!

I had a burger and salad that was outstanding. Properly cooked and fresh. The tomato soup was also great and homemade. This is a small local Irish pub but very comfortable for a casual dinner. No blaring music and the TVs are muted. The waitresses are friendly and attentive. Great place and alternative to the big name franchises.

Samson street offers several dining choices and 1518 did a better job attracting us with their look and menu. The service we received and food was very good and reasonably priced. Great place to go for lunch while downtown.

We stopped by this bar/grill and we were not disappointed. Good service, plenty of choice on the menu and a wide selection of beers and other alcoholic drinks at a very reasonable price.

I came in here as a stranger and left as a friend with Leslie, the bartender. Good conversations, plump shrimp cocktail, and tasty drinks equals an A plus experience. Thanks Philly for Samson Street.

We chose this bar because it’s Wednesday night & they’re part of the “Sips” summer promotion. Wonderful choice! My spring rolls were plentiful & delicious. My husband ordered the chicken tenders and they were equally delicious. We’d definitely return.

These are the places you search for. Great fresh food and servers are friendly and fast. Made us feel like it was our local. Best value in the area!

This sliver of a piece of real-estate on one of Philadelphia's great eclectic blocks has been transformed into a bar that is both fun and a place you could take your parents. Sports on the TVS, (karaoke and DJs on occasion)a really friendly collection of folks both behind the bar and waiting on tables and the constant presence of Willy, the owner, make for a great mix. The reasonable drinks and good beer selection is not what makes this place stand out. It is the food. On a consistent basis the kitchen turns out one of the best burgers in Philly, $8, a really healthy salad with salmon or chicken or shrimp $11, or a mouth watering rissoto, for not much more. The kitchen offers the full menu until ten but there is a late night menu that is well worth stopping in for. Say hi to Willy. He's sitting at the last table on the left in the back!

I've been here twice within the last week.. Once for dinner and then for a happy hour. Service was great, food very good, and the bartender was awesome! I really like all the different pictures of Philadelphia hanging all over.. Would highly recommend!!

It's easy to find a late night drink in Philadelphia, but not as easy to find a late night meal or snack. My favorite "open late" place is 1518 on Sansome. It's a narrow bar and tables that's decorated with a lot of Philadelphia art. It's homey and cozy. The staff is welcoming and even has a little sense of fun and let's make this fun. I usually get their burger. It's the best burger in Philadelphia. It has a large juicy pattie, with a good ratio between beef and bread. It's stacked with good stuff. It's truly delicious. I have it with a salad. (You can also do fries.) I was surprised that in January my salad was garden fresh. It's easy to do a fresh salad in August, but not so easy in January. It was crisp and delicious. It's a perfect late night meal with a beer. Best of all the prices are reasonable and you don't feel robbed, just satisfyly full.

Adorable restaurant. Very attentive. Stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer were very good. House salad was delicious Had a great night with family

I was here for a convention and was traveling alone. When I was wandering around the downtown I stumbled upon this place. Smaller bar and not good for big groups but great friendly staff and really good food. I had a crab cake and Greek salad. Crab cake was good but not spectacular but Greek salad was awesome with fresh vegetables.

Laid back bar with paintings covering the walls. Cool vibe, very friendly staff with great service. Sunday night football was on the TV which I appreciated. They have other sports memorabilia on the wall so I assume they have sports on when there are games. I got the caprese salad which I thought would be on lettuce but I was wrong and slightly disappointed. Mozzarella was stuffed between huge slices of tomatoes with a drizzle of balsamic vinaigrette and it was very good. My husband ordered the apple walnut salad and he said it was delicious. I would eat there again when back in town but next time I would get an entree. The dishes at the adjacent table looked tasty and portions were more than I was expecting.

Stopped by with some friends. We sat at the bar and had sandwiches and apps. All of our food was really good! We'd definitely go back again if we're in the area!

What a jewel of a restaurant. Not just a great bar with a huge beer, wine and liquor list, but a phenomenal menu with selections from burgers to gourmet. Portions are substantial and everything is delicious and prices are super reasonable. It is real home cooking. Willy is the best; thank you Sir for such excellence! We will return soon.

Went on the night before a huge marathon downtown and was expecting a wait. Got in quickly at a busy time on a Saturday night. Sat at bar and had full service menu. I had the prime rib sandwich with a side salad. Both very generous portions. Husband had steak salad that was quite large. Both of us had more than enough food and the total only came to $35 before tip. Couldn't believe the deal!

I've been here about 6 times with clients and each time the food was excellent. Very fresh food. Service outstanding. More importantly my clients loved it. The place is very clean as it was recently updated. Nice bar as well.

Cheap drinks and some edible (and some inedible) apps at HH can be a draw. Staff is super nice. Clientele leaves a lot to be desired. I am currently sitting next to a vulgarian at the bar.

Stopped in for a night Cap. Great drinks and friendly place. Asha is a great bar tender. I had a maragarita and it was perfect for me.

I've been here many times, and my standby favorite is the short ribs sandwich. The last time I was there, I again ordered the short rib sandwich. When it arrived, the pieces were much larger "chunks" than usual, since it's usually more of a pulled meat appearance. But that wasn't the problem. Of course a small amount of fat is expected with this cut of meat, but there was so much fat, 70% of the sandwich was inedible. I kept pulling out globs of fat which created a large mound of fat on my plate, and I ate the remainder of the meat and roll. When the waitress asked how everything was, I pointed to the pile of fat and told her that I've been there many times and have ordered the same sandwich, and that I was very disappointed because of the amount of fat which wasn't edible. Her response was "oh". So, I waited to see if she made any adjustment to the bill or if she spoke with the owner or manager. But none of that happened, so I paid and left without incident. Hopefully the owner will read this and train his staff on the meaning of customer service. Pathetic.

Our amazing check in person at Club Quarters, Milton, recommended the 1518 Bar and Grill on this excursion to Philly. He did not steer us wrong on any level. We went for preshow snacks and drinks. We enjoyed the happy hour specials that included mussels and we also ordered up calamari. Both were FANTASTIC! We enjoyed it so much that we returned the next night before we headed back to catch our train. This time we tried the spring rolls, their chicken wings and then split a short braised rib sandwich. All the items were delicious. Looking forward to stopping in again when we are in Philly. If you are there for the Happy Hour prices you cane enjoy a great sampling of many types of food and for a very reasonable price.

The food at this bar is exceptional. We had to stop in for some of our favorite choices which is the short rib sandwich or their mussels. All of their appetizers are delicious too! The calamari is fantastic.

We found 1518 late on a Saturday after a long day of Philly eating and site-seeing, looking for a nightcap and a late night snack.1518 delivered with heavy duty air conditioning and quality apps and drinks. But what made the experience for us was the luck of getting Crazy Eddy to serve us on what turned out to be a slow night. Eddy shared his experiences and travels with us and some insider tips on Philly that we wish we had a couple days earlier. The bar itself is a long narrow space that got more crowded as the night wore on and overall had a strong young urban energy.

Very nice place, small with very good helpful staff who are willing to adjust their food to meet your needs. Food was very good. Salmon, scallops were cooked right. Side dishes were tasty. Price for a dinner for 3 without drinks was only $52,

Walked into this restaurant because they were still serving a (limited) menu after 9:30 pm. The limited menu was really good, offering lots of sandwiches and salads. We had drinks and a really good meal. Service was GREAT! What a nice surprise. Will definitely go back?

We found the Restaurant by accident so we were please to find a friendly place with a good range of beers and food. The decor was traditional with various prints and photos around the restaurant. The service was friendly and our food was presented promptly. It was a traditional menu so we had a wide choice. We enjoyed the meal.

Wow it was advised by hotel to wined down from bad flights. Got to talk to owner Willy, a definite home town feel. Staff supper the food superb, so much we had a couple visits. A must visit and will turn.

Good place to bring the older kids--you can have a really nice meal and not spend a fortune. i had the steak (about $25), the women had salmon ($20) and son had burger. All the food was great. atmosphere was ok--pub like but it was not too noisy which we appreciated. Have you picture taken near the Rocky picture!

Very Friendly and so reasonable in Center City. A little different food for a bar, however Philadelphia has always been noted for its bar food. I enjoy vegetarian dishes and sometimes it is hard to go out with others that want steak sandwiches or we have to go to an all vegi place. The Portabella Rubin is so outstanding and so delicious I never had anything like it before and my friends were happy with the short ribs. The Crab Cakes were just as good as any great Philly sea food house. Yuengling is on tap and at a good price. Now this place will be a must for every time I am back in Philly!

I reviewed 1518 before (about two years ago), and noted that while the food was very good, the service left something to be desired. After a considerable number of visits over the past couple of years, I wanted to provide an updated review, noting that service has been generally very good. The menu items, and particularly the daily specials, are really good, and represent great value for the price. The place is not that big, so table availability can sometimes be a problem, as can the weather if you are seated near the door on a cold day. It usually is possible to sit at the bar and be served lunch if the place is crowded or you do not want to sit near the door. One of my favorite dishes is the grilled salmon served on cold Quinoa salad base. Quantity of food is usually more than I can eat at one sitting. If I had the ability, I would probably rate this 4.5 rather than 4, but TripAdvisor does not give you that option.

Service at this location is absolutely perfect. The food was very delicious, fresh and fast. Bar was a good size for the evening crowd. Lots to look at and the staff very attentive.

Great dining with personal atmosphere. Love being able to peek into the kitchen. everyone was super friendly and it was a fantastic location.

Stopped into 1518 for lunch during a recent Philly trip. Wasn't crowded despite getting there during the lunch rush so we were seated right away. Our server was friendly and efficient, and helped us with our selections. I ordered the club sandwich, which was tasty and definitely filling, pretty big for lunch and I wasn't complaining! The atmosphere also seemed very nice, also seemed like a good happy hour spot for the after work crowd. Overall, I definitely enjoyed my experience and would certainly return.

Cold beers, warm service, nice food and great prices. I'm so glad we discovered this place which is conveniently only 2 blocks from my hotel. I will definitely be back.

4 friends happy hour before Rocketman! 2 white wine spicy mussels &1 red. 4th calamari. Gin & tonics supreme servings. Generous pour of white wine. Friendly owner stopped by. Good service. Great value. Happy 😆!

on way to movie at The Prince tried 1518 happy hour. tried every appetizer on menu. All deliciously done. Crisp egg roll & over the top delicious chocolate martini. win win!

Happy Hour is the best. Get the mussels nice size and the red sauce wonderful. Lots of flavor. Fish and chips on the dinner menu also very good. Thick cod with a delicious batter. And not at all greasy. Drinks reasonable and tasty. Bread could be better

We wanted a quick beer and burger type place before a Phillies game and this place was suggested by the concierge at our hotel. The burger and the beef tip sandwich were outstanding. The beef was very tender and it had a sauce that really complimented the flavors. We enjoyed it so much we went back after the game for appetizers and a nightcap. The calamari was great too! The servers were hit and miss so I kept this review to a four of five.

We stopped in to get out of the cold and were pleasantly surprised at what we found. Diverse and eclectic menu, plenty of options for everyone-- and affordable. From crab cakes to Reubens to pastas and salads. Great bar tenders and wait staff. Just enough history on the walls to keep us interested.

My wife and I stopped in 1518 after dinner and loved this place. The venue is small but comfortable. There was a DJ playing a nice mix of music from different genres and decades ( not just the latest pop and hip-hop). The crowd was also a nice mix of age ranges. So, we didn’t feel awkward being surrounded by a younger crowd. The room was decorated with autographed pictures of famous people. We really enjoyed ourselves at 1518.

Recommended by the hotel staff. Small bar/grill. Friendly bar tenders, nice selection of draught beer. Now for the highlight of my visit..the burger. Nice sized burger cooked my spec. Provolone cheese, melted and warm and delightful. Lettuce and tomato garnish. Carmelized onions. I changed from the peppercorn mayo to the horseradish mayo. It was Devine, thick and from the first bite to the last it was excellent. Juicy, flavorful goodness. This burger rules!! High marks for 1518 Bar and Grill.

This is a great little pub not far from Rittenhouse Square, Suburban Train Station and the Interact theater.. I have eaten both brunch and lunch here and was pleased both times as the food is freshly prepared and tasty. The staff is also very pleasant and because it is rather small, you don't feel lost in the crowd. Give it a try.

Friendly, delicious sandwiches and beer. Probably one of the best burgers in town. With fries the 1518 burger is great value at $13. Bartenders were attentive and the atmosphere is comfortable and friendly.

What started out pleasant ended horribly. One entrée was wrong and another came out after everyone else was done. Handled poorly by management. (Table next to use had an issue with one of their entrees too.) There are a lot of other places to eat in the area.

We love this place. Awesome food, nice, lively crowd, always busy but very good service. A great way to cap off a night at a concert, etc. Close to Rittenhouse Square hotels, easy walk.

Stopped in for drinks and appetizers, waiter was nice and very informative (with strong opinions on contrasting flavors) prices were as expected in this area, loved the decor and the atmosphere. Pleasant spot.

Cute pub tucked into center city. Small place, quaint. The drinks are DELICIOUS. Food was great too. Definitely a spot foe drinks with friends and a night out. Interesting Philly history and art on the walls too!

A cool locals spot where people in the food industry go to wind down after their shifts. Be warned sometimes their is drama that goes down at these kind of places but that's normal and if you can't handle it don't go. Beer is reasonably priced. Yuengling was like $3.50 on draft at 1am on a Sunday. I was waiting on my Amtrak late night train back to Va lol! Agniezska aka A'ska is a very professional and charming person! Definitely will be back. A fun little place to hang out!

Our college-age daughter, who is very fussy about restaurants, couldn't stop raving about 1518 Bar and Grill, so we met her there for a late Sunday afternoon lunch/dinner last weekend. We were absolutely delighted with her choice! We started our meal with a round of drinks. 1518 Bar and Grill has a really nice selection of local beers, plus wines and our daughter's favorite - a chocolate martini! Our main dishes included nice sandwiches for two of us (braised beef tips for me, grilled chicken with pesto for our daughter's friend), and huge portions of shrimp scampi for my husband and daughter). The menu said that dinner entrees were not available until 5 pm, and we arrived at 4 pm, but there was no problem whatsoever ordering off of either menu. Although we were more than full, the four of us split a cheesecake and chocolate cake for dessert, and they were equally first rate. In addition to the food, the service from Eddie, the waiter, was just right, and Willy, the owner, came over to our table to say hi. I have now added 1518 Bar & Grill to my very short list of restaurants I would drive into Center City for (since I live in the suburbs and hate paying for parking!). This is a keeper!!

My wife and I were wandering through the area, just stopped infor happy hour, for under 30 dollars we had two nice glasses of wine, 2 beers, and order of calimari, and 10 chicken wings, we sat next to the open window in front by the street and it was great just watching alll the people walking by. The food was very good and priced very well. The service was friendly and attentive and the place clean and confortable. We will return

Intelligent about gluten free questions and easy to offer adapted menu choices. Quick service. Good food. And sensible sized portions. Didn't need to have a take home bag. Only challenge was that it was very warm outside but the aircon and the super lovely cold drinks made us a bit chilly!

go here for lunch quite often; food and service are both solid, very generous portions, and prices are quite fair for downtown philly

Great staff. Good food and drinks. Easy location centrally located on Simion street Our server Eddie was great Friendly, humorous and had good recommendations. We arrived at the end of happy hour but were able to get our drinks and an appetizer in before it was over at 6pm. Calamari was very good. Review of Dinner was mixed. the scallopps, asparagus and risotto was perfect. The swordfish was drowned in an overpowering spices sauce. Mostly those there for drinks and appetizers but there were a few locals and business men at the bar watching the game,

Great ambiance, tasty wings average mussels. Eddie was an excellent server, engaging and attentive, as well as prompt, the bland and undercooked mussels we're just a blip in a nice experience!

My sister and I went here after a concert with a coupon from our nearby hotel. There's nothing really special about the decor, it's a basic bar setup with cafe tables along the wall. But they a really nice sparkling rose, and we ordered french fries. It was later and we just wanted something small. They had a DJ, and if only other places had one like him. The lineup was mostly dance music, very fun and upbeat. But the DJ eased us into it with some soul and rock before ratcheting up the energy and the volume. It was a perfect ending after a super concert (James Bay) at the Philly Met Opera House and we would definitely go there again, frequently!

This was our first time here and we loved it! The atmosphere and decor were wonderful and food absolutely delicious! Great service as well!

We visited this bar twice on our visit to Philadelphia and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The menu offers typical pub grub with some twists. On our first visit, we wanted just a light lunch….no such thing here! I had the calamari which was enormous. Husband had the meatballs….only two but they were each the size of my fist. The server brought us a complimentary ‘bonus’ dish of chicken tenders with fries! So much for the light lunch. It was very busy on the second visit but we snagged a table. We were wise to the portion size and went for the hummus to share. Even that was huge but we finished it. If you’re staying in the Rittenhouse area, this bar is recommended.

I came in initially to use the voucher given to me by the hotel in which I stayed, but after looking at the reviews here and encountering the amazing...and I DO mean amazing...folks that work there, decided to have dinner. Preeti was the sweet bartender that helped me and Crazy Eddie served me my meal. The food is great. Comes out hot. It's fresh. Couldn't ask for a better experience!!

We were attending a matinee at the Prince Theater and tried this spot for lunch. Nice old pub atmosphere and very tasty food. My husband had the tuna melt - unusual, made with chopped red peppers, onion and seasonings. He loved it. I had the house burger with mushrooms and onions and cheese and it came with a substantial sized fresh salad. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Will go again.

Nice neighborhood bar in the heart of Philadelphia. One of those long bars so it's going to skinny to move nouver through but it goes kind of far back. Decent man you but drinks are 11 bucks a piece and all the food is way overpriced for the portions you get. Waitresses seem like they have to be there and they don't want to be there. I like this place does as well as it needs to to serve you. Decent little Ambiance though

Great little restaurant that has one of the best crab cakes I've ever had. I definitely look forward to going back.

Lunch at 1518 is great. A very good selection of salads and sandwiches all around $10. Happy hour is good also with $5 wine and snacks priced appropriately. It is more or less bar food but a nice alternative to other places nearby and it is low key.

I stopped here for a little wine and brunch. I liked the experience and would come back, though I didn't really think it was anything exceptional. The bacon and cheese omelet was good enough...served sufficiently hot. The home fries were OK. The wheat toast was, well, wheat toast. Service was good enough...friendly and well paced. Still there are so many other options in center city and elsewhere in town, I'll keep on hunting.

Just went to this little gem on Friday 4/7/23 for lunch with my parents before we saw a show at the Miller Theater. Great place, loved our salads and burgers (we couldn’t finish our plates but it was delicious)! Pleasantly surprised that they had Golden Road Mango Cart Ale on tap too. Spoke with one of the owners, he was personable and friendly. Check this place out especially if you are going to a nearby show, it’s within walking distance. Also really enjoyed the photos and pictures of Philly on the walls.
Great place to eat
This is a great little place to eat and drink. My wife and I came across it while trying to decide where to eat for the evening. Decided to give it a try and what a great decision we made. Staff are excellent, food fantastic and great selection of beers, cocktails and wines, all at very reasonable prices. Safe to say it was that good we returned 4 more times during our vacation. If you are looking for a great place to eat and drink with wonderful and attentive staff don't look past this place. Thanks to all the staff for always looking after us.
