We took the family to the nice steak place. Food was good and the kids really enjoyed it. The service was the best part, made our meal great.

Fantastic service! Our waiter, Rick, was wonderful! But the highlight was the dining room attendant, Joshua. He really went above and beyond to meet our every need!

We had a great dining experience at this wonderful little gem. Though it's in a country club atmosphere, it offers a culinary experience unlike others in the Hill Country. The menue is extensive and satisfying. It can be with a family with kids, a romantic getaway or concluding a business deal. Servers are fast, knowledgeable, efficient and personable without being intrusive. A true delight! Highly recommended

My husband and I visited during a slower time and we really enjoyed our experience. The food was delicious, and even with a la carte, the sides were very filling. Luis was a wonderful server! He was very attentive. We would highly recommend visiting this place and requesting him.

So to start, we live about a mile from the JW and 18 Oaks. We have seen the ups and downs of the restaurant and they're definitely on a "down". We made reservations to celebrate a family "win" and were excited to dine outside. We arrived, and the hostesses had no clue as to what was happening around them. They were at best confused. After some time we were escorted to a table in the overflow dining room, we corrected the girl seating us and she confusedly went back to the front, left us standing there and eventually returned to escort us to the patio (awkward). 11 minutes passed and as I was headed to find a manager, our server arrived. The subsequent lack of 5 star, or 3 star, or even "Denny's" service ensued. We ordered the Caymus, appetizers, bone in Ribeye, scallops, the works. I can say the best part of the meal was the Caymus Cab, no surprise. I ordered the ribeye medium rare, it was well cooked, you would expect it to have at a minimum been an inch to 1 1/2 inch thick, it looked like it should have been served with eggs at....Dennny's. Totally disappointed again! Do yourself a favor, if you're going to spend $250 on a meal, go to Bohannons, Kirbys, or any other 5 star restaurant in San Antonio. Or maybe just find a Denny's, at least you won't be disappointed having spent $20 on a sandwich slice steak and some eggs!! 18 Oaks, we won't be back. --Frustrated Locals

We reserved 3 tables at 18 Oaks two weeks prior to our stay at the JW. The reservations were at 8:15. We arrived and our tables were not available, it was 9 at this point and they still hadn't seated us. When we finally were seated we waited another 10-15 minutes and not one server would come to wait on us. We were a large group but we were not vulgar or disruptive. We were not allowed to put our tables together but that was fine, we understand COVID rules. What is frustrating is the way we were treated and ignored.

Do yourself a favor and treat yourself! Not a negative thing to say about this restaurant. Everything we had was amazing and the service was EXCELLENT! We were able to snag 2 seats at the bar. Our bartender Michael made great recommendations! The lobster ceviche was the star for me, light, fresh and flavorful. We also had a bone-in ribeye, jalapeño cheddar grits and duck fat Brussel sprouts—all fantastic! We ended the night with crème brûlée and the Brie ice cream. Yes, yes, all yeses! SO GOOD! Make a reservation.

If you want great food and great service then this is the place to go. Not to mention the bottomless Mimosa's. Live music was a piano player very relaxing atmosphere. Enjoy!

Brunch is always such an amazing experience! Delicious food and great service! Our server jacob was exceptional (request him if you can) We will definitely be back!

The Old Fashion is my cocktail of choice so when I stopped at the bar at 18 Oaks at TPC San Antonio, I ordered my usual made with Maker’s Mark. Adrian, the handsome and amiable bartender, made me the perfect Old Fashion by which all others will subsequently be judged. He found the perfect balance between the bourbon and fruit and bitters, making it a smooth delight topped with Luxardo cherries. However, the mark of a truly exceptional bartender is whether he/she can replicate the drink consistently. Alas Adrian is a consummate mixologist. Not only did he create the perfect Old Fashion the first time, but did so twice again the next evening when I returned for dinner. I raved so much about how wonderful the cocktail was that on my last one before leaving he treated me to some extra cherries. The perfect Old Fashion made by Adrian will be a lasting memory of a wonderful cocktail experience. Our sisters' group also dined there for a special dinner. Everyone had steaks, and the filet mignon was exquisite as were all the side dishes. The service was top notch as would be expected at a fine dining restaurant. But the lasting memory will be Adrian's Old Fashions.

Party of four. One of us had the steak which she said was excellent. Gluten-free menu and options were great. Crabcakes & French onion soup were very good. I've had better service at a place like Denny's. Water refills were never offered, dirty plates were not cleared until the end of the meal, long after the food on them had been consumed. The waiter actually reached across several times in front of one of us to serve someone else instead of going around the table.

I ordered the filet and the house salad. Our table had a variety of appetizers and sides that were served family style. It was nice to have a variety of vegetable sides to choose from. I was too full for dessert but a few couples share the apple cobbler that looked delicious.

We had a wonderful weekend at the JW Marriott hill country. 18 Oaks was a perfect place for a nice dinner with friends. I would certainly recommend trying it out if you are staying at the resort. We will certainly return!

Food was unique and delicious. I ordered the wild game of the day, which happened to be antelope, knocked my socks off! The only hiccup here was a weird charge on our final bill (at check-out) that was not ours which JW cleared up.

After carefully checking the menu out we decided we could find something better to eat. The choices that were presented did not fit into our dinner desires. I really could not give this restaurant a good or fair review. Check it out and write a review on your experience.

I am a steak snob. The bone in ribeye was at the very top of my list. Dinner and service was superb. Would go back in a NY minute.

I really liked this restaurant. We were hungry for steaks and they delivered an perfectly cooked ribeyr and filet. The service was umpeccable, our server was very nice and knew everything about food. The food came a little slow but they waiyer notived and took money off our bill which was nice. In my opinion a restaurant that notices patrond waiting and addresses it correctly deserves recognition. The bathroom was spotless which i always check. I paid about 137 dollars for 2 steaks, one side and salad for two, and dessert. I would eat here again for sure!

The good was absolutely fantastic. I'm a tiny tiny bit of a snob and can be rather critical when the price gets 'interesting'... no room for such complaints here. The staff was excellent and efficient but not over bearing. The food bone in Prime was perfect and I didn't leave anything but the bone. Very nice set up here. Single scotch selection was worth the trip alone, but quite pricey. So I only had two two ounce pours😉

Service was excellent, Bret our waiter was very knowledgeable and the drinks were good quality. The let down was the food which was good but I don't feel justified the price. I'm a big steak eater and had high expectations from the wagyu steak which weren't met as it was a bit overcooked and not as tender as I had hoped. Overall an enjoyable evening but I've had better meals at similar prices.

My husband and I joined some friends for dinner at the 18 Oaks after enjoying the Velaro Texas Open all day. We had the most amazing experience. Stephanie was our server and she did an awesome job. She knew the menus so well and was able to help us decide on what to order and she didn’t disappoint. The food was exceptional. The gnocchi was out of this world! Stephanie was on top of wine too! She knew exactly what to pair with each item we ordered! I had a glass of caymus with the duck gnocchi and an incredible Sav Blanc with the scallops, which were cooked perfectly! My husband had the crab cakes and a steak, both of which were delicious! The steak was cooked perfectly! Stephanie was super friendly and we will definitely be back there to see her again!

For my wife's birthday, we had the whole family in (14)! Food was spectacular, we really loved the seafood appetizer with 6 shrimp, 8 or so king crab legs and 3 oysters ($32). Te small filet mignon steaks served with a great onion coupled with brusell sprouts were fantastic. Everyone from 8-75 loved it. Special thanx to our professional server Casey!

What a wonderful experience. From the friendly greetings from both the managers and hostesses to the exceptional server ( Jacob) and the incredible food from the chef and his kitchen... we were very impressed. My husband had the bone-in ribeye and I had the Special ( Grouper).. We started with the French onion soup and ended with creme brûlée.... an evening to remember. First class food and service from a beautiful venue yet a warm and friendly atmosphere. A great combination.

My son and I dined here one evening. He liked his expensive steak. My ribeye was sent back because it was over cooked. When a new one came back it was basically raw, browned on the outside only. They offered to "comp" dessert. But did end up comping the steak that I couldn't eat. They were not busy and the service was still slow. My son ate half his steak before I could flag someone down to take my steak. My 14 year son can grill a Costco steak better than they did. The restroom had a big puddle of water. This experience was a big disappointment.

We go to this resort every year and always book a dinner at 18 Oaks. Once again it did not fail. The wait staff was very thorough and friendly. There was a large party in the room which was very loud (to be expected). Our waiter asked if we wished to be moved as we were ordering, but the noise level was tolerable so we stayed. Highly recommend the scallops although the specialty is steak which my wife had and both dishes were excellent. The crab cake appetizer was also well prepared and actually had more crab than filler. No desert...too filled up..

I’m so glad to be on plane back to Australia. The food at this restaurant was beyond horrible. It’s a good thing it was all a business expense or I’d really be buggered. The ribeye was sort of flimsy and oily? The server said that they finish their steaks by basting them in butter. The Chef must have run out of butter and used cooking oil! Completely inedible. I chose not to mention anything to anyone. After all, I didn’t want intrude on the staff while they were busy meddling on their devices. This place is a complete joke of a steak house at a mediocre hotel. Never coming back.

Was an excellent restaurant. We went as a family and ordered all over the menu. The wagyu was great the NY Strip was fantastic the regular filet was a nice cut as well. All the vegetables are served family style but were very tasty. The dessert well......YUM

Possibly the best, definitely in the top three, Rib Eye steaks i have ever had. Staff were welcoming and even doting - a very good thing. Didn't care for the bacon appetizer - i don't go for the savory sweet thing. Apple Cobbler dessert was great!

My husband and I came here to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. What an amazing place to celebrate! Hands down, I can honestly say this is the best steak I have ever had in my life! Not only that, but the service was impeccable. We were greeted and seated quickly and kindly. And our server, Charlie, was friendly, helpful, and so sweet throughout our meal. I cannot give enough praise to this establishment, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an amazing steak, great atmosphere, and awesome service. Thank you, 18 Oaks, for making our anniversary feel special!

I am very picky on my steak, but this place has the best by far. I was so sad when all of it was gone off my plate and wished I could’ve had more. The mac n cheese is fantastic as well. I would give this 10 stars if u could. I’d post a picture, but I ate it too fast 😂

Ate there for dinner on a Friday night. Service was very good. Steak was good. Side items and dessert were ok to poor. Expected much better but this is just a typical bad restaurant at a hotel

wonderful section of meats, seafood, desserts. highly recommend to all! mountain of continuous crab legs and oysters

This was a HUGE disappointment. We went to 18 oaks on New Years Eve 2018 and paid $140 per person. This dinner exceeded $800 however we thought the entertainement was going to be the Velvet Band. The members of who sang not only did not know each other but Angelique did not know the words to any songs except for Binny Binny Bunda. (Unsure of the spelling) She sang this two times for over ten minutes each. The saxophonist and her did not get song and he left before close. We complained to the manager not one but three times and asked who the band was and everyone who was working there seemed very confused. The manager continued to ignore and go into her office. The “band” consisted of three people who consistently visited with their own family and took selfies instead of entertaining a high end crowd. We called the manager, Marina the next day as well As Israel Munez (manager of JW MArriot La Cantera) and they insisted that customer service was the very important but the manager of 18 oaks declined to speak about this incident. The food and our waiter were kind however at this point I do not recommend JW Marriott or 18 oaks as they clearly do not care about their customers. I have videos of the night and happy to share them of the entire night with this so called band which i would have never paid a dime to see.

What a great place. Everyone who worked at 18 Oaks were professional and helpful. The food and drinks were top shelf.

Had a wonderful dinner with husband. Waiter was very attentive. Gluten free menu with French Onion Soup! So good! Scallops were wonderful. Steak was wonderful. Wine list great. Nice to have a special night with just the 2 of us.

Luis was super engaging with great insight into the menu. The food was unbelievable. Split the scallops and short ribs for us. Drinks were great. Unfortunately, I had no room for dessert so we have to come back 😄

We had a wonderful steak meal at 18 Oaks. The beef was cooked perfectly, they offered a variety of sides and the wine list was good! Our server was originally from San Antonio and was super friendly in sharing other travel must dos. This was my favorite restaurant located at the JW Marriott.

Private dining at its best. Steaks were amazing!!! We sat outside. Service was awesome. Quick to fill a half empty drink.

In my opinion the worst restaurant on the property. The service is sub-par. I'm sure others have had a better experience. (I would hope)

Hands down, best steak I have ever eaten!! Great service, exceptional food. Unreal quality of meat and preparation. I can’t say enough.

Was a guest at the J. W. Marriott. First went for dinner and enjoyed a great rib eye steak. It was one of the best seasoned rib eyes I have ever had. Returned the next day for the Sunday Bruch. Best variety, and tasty brunch, second to known. The buffet is great and don’t overlook the prepared to order options - 18 Oak Eggs Benedict; lobster, spinach and mascarpone cheese omelette. Returned that evening for a third treat. On the expensive side, but worth the cost.

Wow, what can I say? My wife's and I had Kirby's as our top steakhouse for the past 10 years. 18 oaks offered great atmosphere, beyond excellent service, and great view of the golf course. Since it's a nice place to eat, you can really wear something comfortable and casual. We both ordered the filet mignon along with baked mac 'n' cheese, and creamy spinach. Also ordered a bottle of Aquinas Cabernet Sauvignon and afterwards we shared a warm pecan bourbon bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. Man, we were so satisfied and we both are looking forward to coming back soon and for our future special occasions!

Great service, excellent food, exactly what I was expecting! The steak was great but the scallops were off the chart. One of the best preparation of scallops I've ever had. If you like them, order them.

Spent a beautful sunday brunch celebrating my wifes birthday. From the Champagne to the salads and delectable desserts, everything about the brunch was amazing. The service is excellent and the sultry tones from the in house singer makes a Sunday brunch over here a must. The food is really unbelievable, with choices of oysters, shrimp, roasts and the normal breakfast staples as well.

The restaurant is located right next to the JW Marriott at TPC golf course. Although it is fine dining, people were there in casual attire (shorts). The titers were excellent and the salads were generous portions especially the wedge salad which was big enough for four people. The French and sit was excellent as well as the stakes and pork chop. White and red wine was purchased, the off menu items such as halibut and antelope looked very good. The service was as expected for a fine dining facility. The prices were commiserative with the 8 ounce fillet roughly about $45. The sides were excellent and prices 11 dollars.

Last night my girlfriends and I had the best experience at 18 oaks. To start our server Melissa was absolutely spot on. She was attentive and had great suggestions. We started with several appetizers. The gnocchi were soft little potato pillows that danced in the mouth. For dinner we shared the toma hawk and scallops. Both were cooked to perfection and so flavorful. All of the sides were wonderful but the brussel sprouts were perfectly charred and seasoned. We had many dishes to share together but these are just a few highlights. Highly recommend this restaurant!

A gem in the stone oak area, we visited the restaurant first for Sunday brunch. A bit pricy for brunch, but when you consider it offers a raw bar, sliced to order prime rib, as well as mimosas and an abundant of other delicious food choices, the price is a little easier to handle. We enjoyed it so much we decided to go back for dinner service at another time . Again, the restaurant didn’t disappoint. Everything was delicious.

This was by far the best eating experience at the JW Marriott.....this is a higher end restaurant and is not cheap but definitely worth it

Was a outstanding Father Day dinner with our son would come back again! Everything was great! Steaks were great and drinks outstanding!

My family and I recently dined here two nights in a row while staying at the JW Marriott. On a positive side both nights we had just spectacular service (which is a rarity at this over crowded resort). The wait staff was friendly, knowledgeable and was always there when you needed them without being cloying. Some of the food like the bread, baked macaroni and cheese, molten chocolate cake and bacon appetizer were fabulous. I had a regular filet one night and a wagu filet the other. They were both fine but neither was great and for $40+ and $60+, respectively, a piece I would have expected the same quality as a smith & wollensky or capitol grill but this wasn't as good. That said the setting was lovely and the service was so phenomenal I'd still give this place a 4 and recommend it.

Dinned in this week with a group of people during our conference. The food was great, and everything was paced out perfectly even though the restaurant seemed very busy. Our waitress Sasha was very knowledgeable with wine, and her service was beyond excellent. We will definitely be doing our business dinners here in the future. Menu recommendations were great. Overall great experience.

Had a great experience here. Good quality and presentation of food. The ambiance was nice, refined and quiet. I wouldn’t rank it among some of the best 10 steakhouses I’ve been to but it’s still very good. Scallops were cooked perfectly but the jalapeno honey sauce was weak. Filets we’re cooked the correct temperature, but they were pretty small. The chicken was top notch and had a really flavorful glaze. The bread service was generous and tasted fresh. The crab cakes were mediocre and had weak taste

This restaurant has it nailed everything from the decor to the food absolutely delicious and the waitress could not have been more professional friendly and made the experience 100%

We had an absolutely magical night at 18 Oaks Restaurant at the JW Marriott. We were visiting friends in San Antonio, and they wanted to show us one of the best restaurants in town, and it did not disappoint. First of all, Chef Matt surprised us with two treats to start our meal. He knew when our reservations were, and he brought some amazing appetizers to the table upon arrival, creating a fabulous wow factor. Second, or server, Luis Rangel was extremely knowledgeable and always attentive. Even 18 Oaks' new sommelier visited us from time to time to check on us. We ordered one of the wine specials for the day and it was fantastic. Apparently, 18 Oaks has one of the best wine selections in the U.S. The waiter told us how grateful he was for the restaurant's culture, saying, "it's like family." Clearly, the staff is ambitious and wants to always elevate the experience further. The food was mouthwatering and perfect. The New York Strip and brussel sprouts were particularly fantastic. This is one of my all-time favorite restaurants. Make a reservation. You won't regret it!

Our food and service was great! We will definitely go back. Mike the bartender was awesome, we had reservations but decided to sit in the bar area instead because we enjoyed him so much.

We had a romantic dinner for my wife’s birthday. It was a busy weekend, and it’s better to make an appointment. We were promptly seated. Our waiter was entertaining to say the least. But effective. The food was excellent, including the surprise cake with a candle.

beautiful ambiance...great service, great tasting food...absolutlely delicious...the lighting is low and romantic for couples...

We ate really good steak with their truffle potatoes. The wine selection is excellent and kids are also welcome. Great luxury night!

It is a bit of a haul from San Antonio, but it was worth it. It was a very good steak house. The service was great and it was a welcome break from downtown. I would go again.

I have never felt compelled to leave an online review until now. Here are the highlights: 1) The atmosphere was very nice. 2) The food was perfection 3) Lewis Rangel was a phenomenal server! Lewis understand the fine line between great service and being intrusive. Overall the best dinning experience I have had in San Antonio!

This was my 3rd time here for brunch and I will always recommend. Amazing food, great customer service and I had the pleasure of Jacob M being our server he made our dining experience outstanding. Highly recommend

The service here for us was superb. We ordered from the "Twilight" menu from 5-6pm. I was not impressed with the "flat iron" steak, but everything else was very good.

I came here not knowing anything about it, during my stay at the J. W. Marriott. What a hidden gem. First off, they opened @ 11am today (not 5pm as indicated on the app here). I ordered a killer skillet bacon cheeseburger. As I was waiting for it I was chatting with the bartender, Mike, and he mentioned that they have happy hour from 2-6pm, so I think I’ll have to investigate that this evening. Cheers!

This is s classic steak house that does what it does best. The salads are gargantuan and decent; however, the star attraction is the meat. I had grilled pork chop with a bourbon glaze and blueberry sauce which was outstanding! The meat was tender and the sauce was beautifully made and executed with spices such as pepper and rosemary. The helping was extremely generous. I finished off the meal with fresh berries which cleansed the palate beautifully. From the individuals I spoke with who had the steak they all uniformly said that that it was outstanding even by Texas standards which is saying a lot. Highly recommended!

My husband and I had dinner here, and it was absolutely delicious! Everything was prepared well, the service was terrific. We both enjoyed the steaks. I definitely recommend dining here!

First, the only good thing about this place is the staff. They were courteous and helpful. Our waiter Michael was exceptionally good. The restaurant itself is highly rated, why I do not know. It was at best very average with haute cuisine prices that were ridiculous for what was served. It is located in the JW Marriott Hill Country resort and apparently does not care about local customer repeat business. In addition, parking is very inconvenient with no way to get to the restaurant except by walking in the street up hill. Suffice it to say we will not be back.

My wife and I went here for dinner to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. I chose this restaurant over other prime steak houses after looking at the on line menu and thought that it would be a unique and wonderful experience. I knew going in that this would be expensive and didn't mind but quite honestly, from the moment we checked in until the time we left, the staff could have cared less about our special occasion and we have received a better welcoming and service throughout a meal at Outback. The food quality was just average and not cooked as requested. The tomato soup was greasy and was sent back. For a $$$$ steak house, we expected a much better overall experience. It was very disappointing for both of us. Maybe we just got them on an off day. Don't know but I do know that we will not be dining there again.

We had a wonderful experience both at the bar & restaurant! The bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable. Try the Jalapeño Honey Badger! And our dinner and service was excellent. I highly recommend the Wagyu filet or the ribeye with a side of scallops (served with the jalapeño honey). Both were truly exquisite and cooked to perfection. If you’re a fan of brussel sprouts you must get them! They are pan seared and flash fried in duck fat. The best!!!!

We had a wonderful time at this event and the best food I have eaten in a long time. Well planned with a lively band. The steak, lobster and waghu steak was amazing. We were served by a young man named Oscar who knew his menu! Lovely service!!

We were looking for a brunch that had many options to take our kids for BD celebration. I hadn't tried this one. It was a smash hit with my adult kids and we will be doing a repeat soon. I didn't think the price was that $$$ because it included a varied buffet, desserts and several types of mimosas as well. It wasn't overly crowded, but suggest reservations as some hotel walk-ins were turned away. We had a nice view of the golf course. Highly recommend.

The top of the line Filet Migion compets with any Kobe Beef and I've had my share in Japan. Salad, bread and veggies were just the way you'd want them. Be sure to go hungry since it's a lot of great food.

We love staying at the JW every summer. Our experience is always amazing. My absolute favorite part is eating at 18 Oaks. The food is fantastic!!! I l look forward to my meal every single time. The wine selection gets me giddy and don't even get me started on the potatoes au gratin. Besides the food, the service is top notch every single time. We have never had a server we didn't love and the management is attentive, caring and goes above and beyond to make sure every table is enjoying the experience. Our latest visit could not have been more special. The young lady, whom I assume is management, heard it was our anniversary weekend and she made sure we were presented with a beautiful picture of us at our table in a "Happy Anniversary" frame. It was such a special surprise. They made it so personal and special and I can't wait to find an excuse to go back!!!!! This place makes me smile just thinking about it.

We are staying at the JW Marriott resort in San Antonio and we had dinner at 18 Oaks. From the moment we arrived, Christian made us feel completely welcome and valued as guests. He made several suggestions about the menu, took time with us and answered all our questions. The food was outstanding. My husband had the bone in ribeye, I ordered the crabcakes appetizer and we both shared those. Our son had a daily feature which was bison medallions with a mushroom cream sauce. We would highly recommend dining at 18 Oaks and also is Christian is available, request one of his tables.

We ordered the chorizo queso dip and French onion soup for starters. The French Onion Soup was really good, very delicious beef broth without being too salty. I had the Cobb salad with avacado, chicken, and the best bacon ever. Very tasty. My friend had the chopped salad which was a little light on the artichokes but was still really good.

Great wine list, and excellent menu. We enjoyed the ambiance and the drinks. Food results were mixed. In a group of 10, one ribeye was ordered medium and came medium rare. Two of us had the high end filet from an angus/kobe crossbreed. Very expensive and very disappointing. Taste was great, but meat was pretty tough. For the price, go with the plain old filet.

Great experience starting from the friendly hostess and continuing with great service from our server. We never felt rushed and the food was amazing. Each dish had so much flavor and we were able to take our time and enjoy every bite. I loved their crab cake appetizer, it is a must! Oh and of course you have to get the wagu filet. Can't wait to go back!

We had family in town and heard that the Marriott had a nice Christmas light show. So we looked into restaurants at the hotel and chose 18 Oaks. No regrets! Great food, great service! The menu is small but hits all the favorites from French onion soup to wedge salad. The bread service was truly unique with butter, bacon and pickles. Thinking, "what"? I know, but it works! Try it! Steaks, Chops were excellent. The sides had a unique touch. Incredible cauliflower with cheese sauce, potatoes au gratin made with goat cheese, heck yeah! Good wine selections, some very reasonably priced! Give it a try!

Everything from the appetizers to the desserts was excellent! Wagyu strip was good. Service was perfect! Quail appetizer was great!

We were staying at the JW Marriott Resort and had read good things about 18 Oaks. We got there early (515 PM) and were their first customers besides a few at the bar. We ordered off the twilight menu and everything was great for only $35 per person. Bread basket with jerky and pickles, huge salads, waygu beef, potatoes, asparagus, and cheese cake were delicious. Service was awesome.

We really enjoyed the sunday brunch, the seafood was really good. I loved the oysters, and crab legs. We liked ordering eggs and omelettes as well. The pastries and breads are really good too. Plus mimosas!!!

This place was awesome. The appetizers , sides and main courses were excellent. The chef's special catch of grouper was prepared perfectly . Steak cooked to perfection and taste was great. Bread pudding AAA+++. Service outstanding. One of the best meals so far this year.

We were very pleased with the food, delicious! The staff is super friendly and helpful. We enjoyed this place!

The food was amazing. Our waiter Charlie was excellent. If you are in San Antonio, you have to eat here. But skip lunch because the portions are more than enough.

This is a high-end steakhouse at the JW Marriott and Resort in San Antonio. This is the third time we've been there over the last four years and prices have suprisingly stayed pretty stable. But the service has improved each time we've been there with Luis doing an outstanding job during this last visit. They actually have a filet mignon on the kid's menu! Grandson ordered it but didn't order an appetizer. Luis recognized this and rather than let our grandson watch everyone else eat their appetizer, he included a small plate with carrot and cucumbers so he had something to eat, as well. Great customer service! And Luis is obviously proud of Texas wines. After we ordered a bottle of Sonoma County cabernet, be brought out a bottle of Super Texan from Flat Creek Estate and allowed us a sample. It was amazingly pretty good! Guess Texas is getting there with better wine! Again, Luis did an outstanding job, making our dinner thoroughly enjoyable.

Best grilled steak and mash with superb wine list. Appetizers were unique and delicious, and dessert was over the top good!

My youngest daughter and I LOVED the jerky and pickles slices served as an hors d'oeuvre. Of the three times we have visited, I have always enjoyed the entree, as have my three daughters. However, on each and every of the three times, my wife had whatever fish was listed as the special, and each time she got sick. She won't come back, so neither can I, or the family.

Fancy, hoity toity place. In a resort. Appears to be associated with golf for some strange reason... it’s Gonna be expensive. But is it good?? Dropped in on a Friday night without reservations while kicking it at the JW. Grands has the kiddos and we’re ordering $60 room service. (What were they thinking?). Oh... back to the story of 18 oaks.. while they had to move some tables but got us in near the front. Had the Caesar and French onion soup for apps. Wife had 6 oysters. Caesar was great as the anchovies were spot on. Wish there were 50 of them!! French onion was great too. I’m shellfish intolerant so... she said they weren’t as briny as she’d like. Got the bone in ribeye med-rare. Cooked well, great flavor, lightly seasoned but very good. And the duck fat Brussels. The two of us split all that and Walked away stuffed. Had a cup of coffee at the end that was cold but they hooked us up with a French press. All in w tip $166. And with 5x Marriott points per dollar (thanks chase visa), I’d say it was worth it. Now back to $65 room service for burgers... damn!!! Who does that????!?!

After a few 'bumps in the road' during our first stay at the hotel, just didn't know what to expect when we went to the Sunday brunch-buffet- but this place and their wonderful staff made up for all that 'went wrong' on my birthday weekend! Marie & Molly and the sweet hostess were so sincere, truly made us feel welcomed as well as special! The food was scrumptious- there wasn't one thing that we didn't like and we tried everything!! At one point I thought that they were playing a Michael Buble/Frank Sinatra CD only to find out that no, there was someone in the main room playing the piano- my oh my, the icing on the cake- Bernie Martini!

i had the pork chops here last year and thought they were the best ever. the 2019 edition, if possible, was even better. shout out to the chef and Mark our server was awesome. great place

Caeser salad was the best I've ever had and almost a meal in itself. Wagyu tenderloin was so simply superb. Mushrooms, cauliflower, kale, Mac n cheese and asparagus were all delectable. The only marginal item was the sweet potato gnocchi. Be prepared for premium steak house/resort pricing.

The service here was impeccable. The waitstaff was so thoughtful. The wagyu filet mignon was the best steak I’ve ever had. Several folks at my table said the same. To top it off Josh made me a Tequila Old Fashioned that was delicious! I like a tasty Old Fashioned but would never have tried it with tequila. Definitely worth a visit for the steak and the drink.

This restaurant is fabulous. The wait staff is wonderful. The food is great. The only negative is it is expensive. But the quality is definitely here.

We were staying at the Marriott and enjoyed an amazing meal at the 18 Oaks. We started with a glass of wine and the crab cakes and we each ordered the 10 oz. fillet, medium rare. It was cooked to perfection and you could cut it with a butter knife.A fun part of the meal is that they bring you a tray of beautiful steak knives and you get to choose the one you want to use. We had sweet potatoes, spinach and cream corn for our sides. Each of them were delicious. Our waiter, Jason, was wonderful. Very knowledgeable about wines and food.

The food and service here are top notch! The steaks where cooked to perfection and Jacob was alway around for excellent service. Thank you for a wonderful night out!

After long day at the water park we were looking for a restaurant that had a good review looked up farther. 18 oaks had awesome steaks and great sides. Prices are reasonable comparable to Ruth Chris or other steak houses. The convenience of the restaurant is the real point It’s just a short walk from the JW Marriott. Not sure that I would make the drive if I was in staying at the hotel to eat at this restaurant but it was still very very good.

We live one mile from this resort. Pre-covid they had the best brunch buffet around. It was pricey but rivaled Eve. The Wynn Las Vegas for great brunch buffet. We just paid $130 for 2 appetizers and 3 breakfast dishes. We had no alcohol. My biggest gripe is that it’s still all over the internet and social media that they still serve the brunch buffet but they do not! It’s just a regular menu that serves both breakfast and lunch. The entire dining room was filled with waiting room only when they served this buffet. Both sides of it. The tables outside were full too. Now it’s just sad and empty with a very expensive menu. I’m so tired of the “COVID EXCUSE”! There is no scientific reason to stop serving buffets. This is just pure laziness and a poor business decision on the part of Marriott to do this. Given the proximity of this resort to our home, we loved coming here to eat but never again. Subpar food for an above par price is not how I want to spend my Sundays

Clubhouse restaurant for the TPC San Antonio golf course. Food is decent, not great. Prices would justify better quality food. Service was horrible. Took ages to both order and to get our check. Not the best of situations when you stop in for a quick bite with a pending tee time.

My wife and I went for Happy Hour (we were staying at the Marriott and this restaurant is in the golf club on the property). The bartender (Mikey) treated us like royalty and once he knew our general preferences for dishes, he suggested an eclectic mix of small bites and entrees. We tried Sweet n Spicy Roasted Mixed nuts, Prasek's Spicy Sausage Bites, Parm Fries and an absolutely delicious Wagu Flat Iron Steak. Even though we were only at the hotel for 3 nights, we went again the next night. That night, the chef came out and talked with us, after which another splendid variety of apps arrived (from his kitchen but not on the menu that we could find). We'll fly down again (from CT) just to stay at this Marriott and eat at this restaurant

We ate here as a family, 16 of us. Staff handled it great, all food came out together and it was tasty.

The atmosphere is great. Great selection of local cheeses. Lots to choose from. They have amazing prime rib and roasted turkey. The turkey is super juicy and when paired with their house made strawberry jalapeno jam is sensational. Did I say that mimosas are included in the brunch price. The price is a little steep but you definitely get what you pay for.

Food is awesome, service is off the chain! They go the extra mile to ensure that your visit is memorable and special. Molly was our helper/server on this recent visit. She was incredible. We never had to ask for anything. I eat here several times a year while visiting San Antonio. Never disappointed.

My husband and I dined here twice during our 4 nights in San Antonio. The bar staff was knowledgeable and personable. The martini was mixed to my picky specifications. A nice list of local brews although not extensive. Dinner was started with bread and house made jerky. I don’t like jerky but this was delicious. The appetizers were well prepared and beautiful. The zucchini bisque was creamy with shrimp and chili oil. OMG good. The scallops are delicious and not over cooked. The pan fried halibut was moist and the sauce was out of this world fabulous. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. You can select your own knife but who needs it. The produce was local and the meats was from local farms. The cost was high but well worth the money. Friendly waitstaff. Try the Texas whiskey flight. It comes with a presentation on the notes and where it is made. So fun!

We were a table of three adults and two children. Wait staff was pretty attentive and I was satisfied with their efforts. They made sure and served the kids first so they would stay occupied. However, for prices like these, I do expect my food to be brought out at proper temperature. My pork chop was warm, at best, as was my dining companion's filet. Their website stresses a dress code of "smart casual," but I saw anything but....Shorts, polo shirts, torn jeans, all were in evidence. Either enforce a dress code or do away with it....

This brunch is one of the best in San Antonio, yes its pricey but the selection and quality make it well worth it. From the exotics to eggs and pancakes you can't go wrong. Stick with the crab legs, shrimp, oysters, champagne Bananas foster and all you can think of

My wife and I shared a Wedge salad to start. It was one of the best we've ever had. It wasn't made with blue cheese dressing. Rather it combined blue cheese crumbles (extremely high quality) with an herb-cream dressing (essentially ranch ). We then split the Niman Ranch filet and the Beeman Ranch Wagyu filet to compare them. My wife had Bearnaise sauce and I had blue cheese sauce. We also shared the roasted mushroom (a must try!) and the loaded baked potato (very good but not in the same league as the other items). The tastes and textures of the Wagyu vs. Niman Ranch were really quite different. A bit of salt and a piece of mushroom really brought out the flavor of each. We forced down the sorbet and the bread pudding as well as we could. They were very good but we were stuffed. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful.

Everything is always top notch, and I have never had even the slightest problem. The wait staff are excellent and the chef is an awesome guy.

I have been taking my family to 18 Oaks for years and it is great every time we go! The whole staff does an excellent job.....one of our favorites is Joshua Doyen. See you soon Josh! The Stever Family

My wife & I dined at 18 Oaks for both Lunch and Sunday Brunch (with Mr. & Mrs. Claus). We both found the lunch to be mediocre but the Sunday Brunch more than made up for it. The Sunday Brunch was epic, to say the least, and reminded us of the exceptional Sunday Brunches we've had during our Four Seasons visits.

We ate an early dinner here on July 4. It was not crowded at all, so I don’t know why there was such poor service. They brought our side dishes with no serving utensils. This happened again with the dessert. The bone in ribeye had decent flavor but was tough. I mentioned it to the waiter and he asked if it was gristly. I said yes. It was not removed from our bill nor were we offered any other comp.

We didn't have a reservation, but they still accommodated us, giving us a nice private seat. Our server was friendly. But the shining star for me was the filet mignon. Steak is my favorite food on earth and I have ordered filet's a lot. This was by far the best filet I have ever had. Temperature nailed perfectly, flavor was on point, just enough salt. I could've eaten a million of these. It was so delicious. And the mashed potatoes were great as well. Thank you Chef!

Went here with important clients but was disappointed to receive my 10oz filet which I ordered medium rare come out medium well done. They were very sorry and rapidly corrected this, but I’ve been in many high end establishments where they give the steak complimentary - but not here. Got the feeling that this restaurant was trying to be something higher than it actually was. Will stick to the sports bar restaurant next time as I visit here quite frequently, but had never tried this steak place.

This was my second time to visit the restaurant. Quiet atmosphere. Food was excellent. Extensive wine list with bottles from $40 to the thousands. Waiters have been trained on food wine pairing and make good recommendations. My filet was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. We had charcuterie tray which had a great pate' like pork, and with dinner we had the gruyere cauliflower as a side which was delicious. My family likes that they bring a tray of knives with different handles and shapes to let you select which one you would like. A simple thing but then we spend part of our meal comparing knives. Wait staff removes plates promptly. There was just one issue this visit. The waiter had been very attentive through the whole meal. Once we got to dessert, he pretty much vanished and went to attend the newly seated tables. A runner brought dessert to the table. My husband never got the cappuccino he ordered. We had to flag down the waiter to get the check. Despite this, all in all it was a wonderful meal.

Started our dinner service with Jessie and Mike at the bar. This perfect pair mixes up some delicious cocktails; try the margaritas. We moved on to dinner, starting with the house signature dinner rolls that were luscious; crispy and flaky on the outside, with melted butter on the inside. Super yum. Husband loved his filet; crab cakes were decent. Service was outstanding. Only downside to our experience were the "Rude Parents" seated at the table beside us, who allowed their children to play games like duck-duck-goose and endless loud renditions of pat-a-cake. Both my husband and the wait staff were ready to extract the family when finally they left. Since this restaurant is part of the JW Marriott resort which boasts a water park, be prepared to share your romantic dinner with somebody else's kids. Rating would have been a five-star if not for the rude family.

Best brunch in San Antonio!!! Luis offers impeccable service! Great place for a special occasion both for family occasions or a “date day”. Highly recommended.

Great menu and selection with fast service. Got the orders right and they make a great blackened chicken

The food and service here are top notch! Charcuterie to start was stellar. Filet for entree was perfectly cooked and buttery. Truffle creamed corn and potato puree were perfect additions. Everything about this meal was amazing.

We couldn’t get enough of 18 Oaks, the food, atmosphere and service is exceptional! We had amazing dinners there 4 nights of our stay. All of the staff was very friendly and welcoming, but Josh Martin gave exceptional service. We requested him night after night. He quickly developed a rapport with us and made excellent recommendations that suited mine and my husband’s taste perfectly and complimented our entrees. He has a gift for service and hospitality! The only thing I wish was different was that we lived closer! Rose was also a joy to meet, she was incredibly sweet and always had a smile on her face! High praise all around! Thank you for the memories 18 Oaks!

We went for brunch for my friend's birthday and it was fabulous. Casey was our waiter, and he was the best! So polite and courteous. I highly recommend him!

Went there for Sunday brunch and the food was amazing! Our waiter was Jacob. Ask to sit in his section because he provides great service and is so nice!!

we are so glad this restaurant is open still. we love the people here. Michael, Adrian at the bar and Jacob as our server. Friendly and fun. the food is delicious. We had the special, Red Snapper with fingerling potato and spinach topped with crab. decadent and delicious. the wine list is unfortunately a little limited right now. We get that for glass only of wine...but if you are going to buy a bottle perhaps that list could be expanded. No matter. We enjoyed being out of course. The social distancing is good and they are all masked. Great views of the Gold Course. Can't wait for their Happy Hour to start back up. That has always been fun.

My partner and I went to the JW’s 18 Oaks for their Sunday brunch, and it was excellent. For $52 per person, the buffet included split, king crab legs (smaller but definitely NOT southern king or snow crab), gulf oysters, shrimp cocktail, prime rib, and roast turkey. There was also the usual breakfast fare, a good selection of pastries and breads, and small selection of charcuterie and cheeses. Kids seemed pleased with the mac and cheese. The fried quail and waffle was delicious. The dessert selection was large and was headlined by a cooking station for personalized bananas foster. In addition, there is also a “signatures menu,” which allows you to order freshly prepared items like a lobster omelette or chocolate waffle, which is also included in the fixed price. Unlimited champagne and mimosas plus your choice of juices, coffee, teas, and sodas are also included. The atmosphere inside was elegant with dark leather furniture and a single musician providing live music. The service was excellent. Overall, this was a terrific experience that I highly recommend. If you’re a 5* hotel buffet connoisseur, you’ll notice that the selection is not the largest, but the quality, price, and service are still great.

The kids loved this steak house with all the ala carte selections. It was pricey and delicious and local farm supply. Excellent service. Do not miss this!

Wonderful anniversary dinner! Enjoyed the beautiful restaurant and view of the course, in addition to the outstanding meal and drinks. We both got the halibut, fresh catch of the day, and shared the creme brulee.

I've eaten here before, but when I went here this past time, the food, service and drinks were amazing. My overall satisfaction with this restaurant repeats every dining experience, whether its the friendly wait staff, bartenders, or (on occasion) when the head chef comes out and explains the dishes you ordered and welcomes immediate feedback on your overall experience. To start, you will get house cured jerky, house pickled veggies, and house baked butter rolls just to kick start the taste buds with salty and sweet and welcome you to the restaurant. The jerky was amazing and the wait staff is happy to refill if you want more! For appetizers, we had the charcuterie board that was tasty, plentiful and reasonably priced. A blend of exotic cheeses and meats that pair well with a nice glass of wine. For dinner, I had the Wagu steak (of course) and my wife had the filet. Cooked perfectly and served with Duck Fat French Fries (to die for) and baked cauliflower. Couldn't really get a dessert because of all the food, but the chef had recommended a chocolate cake that was pretty rich. Should have ordered one to go! Great restaurant, won't disappoint.

This is one amazing brunch with the most fabulous array of choices. This includes oysters, king crab, shrimp, prime rib, roast turkey, fried chicken, hash, mini tostadas, and a large number of sides, fruits, greens, desserts, etc. It also includes a number of other items which can be ordered from the kitchen and bottomless mimosas. The setting is pretty overlooking the beautiful Marriott hotel grounds. Service was great and we never felt rushed. A lovely and tasty experience!

My fiance and I just got engaged the night before our visit to 18 Oaks. We arrived early to our reservation so we sat at the bar while we waited. The two bartenders, Mike and Adrian were so nice and accommodating. They took a picture outside for us and served us champagne and an appetizer to celebrate. They were also great to chat with during our wait. We could have sat at the bar all night! Our two servers, Ashley and Luis were wonderful as well. They gave us a complimentary dessert and some extra jerky. These four really made our night very special! We'll always remember that!

High end steakhouse with excellent selection of prime cuts of meat. I had the rib eye and it was cooked to perfection. Very tasty. The sides are large. Order a couple and share around the table.

Just flew in to meet friends for dinner. Heard great things about the restaurant, and the meal and hospitality of staff did not disappoint. Wonderful service, good selections, and awesome 18 oz. Prime Bone-in Ribeye.

From the welcome to the wine selection, the attentiveness of the service to the quality of the steaks, top! Gratulations!

The title of my review isn’t without research. I do enjoy a good brunch and have been to a great many, the better ones promising their own special offerings that make them unique or memorable. 18 Oaks has claimed the top spot in my list of brunch locales after our visit there for Easter Sunday. My first visit there was a few months back, and I was thick into a strict Ketogenic diet. Even with these restrictions (no bread, no starches, no sweets), the brunch was still incredible. The charcuterie table alone is a sight to behold. Alongside it, the buffet of boiled shrimp, raw oysters on the half shell, and crab claws and legs (sliced open for easy eating) made it very convenient for me to quickly filled my plate. The carving table next to this featured leg of lamb and prime rib, both cooked perfectly. Proteins? Check. Today, I wasn’t strictly following my diet, and I took advantage of this by indulging in everything I couldn’t before. I took a trip down the breakfast menu, and started with the 18 Oaks Eggs Benedict, their turn on this classic that includes braised short rib. This is a must-have, but I went ahead and tried the chocolate chip Belgian waffle and the French toast too. You know, for science... Next, I hit the buffet and visited the lunch offerings. The standouts for me were the quail and the roasted local vegetables. There were a number of other delicious offerings, so there’s something for all. After all of this, I saved room for dessert, and visited the Bananas Foster station, where they prepare each serving lovingly. One more trip into the dessert room and I loaded up on a key lime tart, a carrot cake cupcake, a strawberry cake, and a Creme Brûlée. I know, that sounds excessive, but they’re small servings. 😂 Wait, I forgot to mention the bottomless mimosas, poinsettias, or champagne! While I didn’t have any, I did drink an incredible Bloody Mary, which was also included. The coffee with my dessert course was great too. Service is top notch, as is the ambiance of the establishment. Both visits were a delight and with it being Easter, the larger crowds didn’t detract from either for this brunch spot. I thank the proprietors profusely for making our Easter special and for running my favorite restaurant for brunch.

The perfect night on the patio with coworkers enjoying top-quality steak and sides. Food doesn’t get much better than this - worth every penny as the portions were large. The servers were kind and friendly, they put up with our shenanigans.

The prices are at the Manhattan level but that should not deter you from a great dining experience. Very attentive service, a broad range of options, and a quiet atmosphere makes for a wonderful experience. The ribeye was cooked absolutely perfectly. The rub was fantastic and the steak was more tender than most fillets. The taste will linger in your gustatory memory.

My daughter and I were celebrating Mothers Day a week early, so I made reservations for the Sunday brunch based on reviews. While it is pricey ($49), the menu is wonderful and it includes unlimited champagne or mimosas. The food was great, and the crab legs were even split in half for easy access to the meat. Our server Angie was attentive and friendly. We did not like the location of the first table the hostess led us to, and when I asked for a table by the window she graciously accommodated my request (I have done this in other restaurants and sometimes get an eye roll or snarky attitude). The table had to be cleaned so she offered us a starter mimosa while we waited - very nice touch! We enjoyed the brunch immensely and will be back.

Came here for a work conference and a work sponsored meal which is the BEST way to eat out. Especially at this place. The dining was nice but surprisingly loud. While they designed a nice place to cram as many people into the location to maximize the square feet, not a lot of attention was paid to the acoustics. Not a romantic date spot for me with that sound level. The waiter was especially attentive and did well with the amount of folks he was served from our group. Occasionally others came in to pitch in and it was a well orchestrated team. We started out with a nice Caymus which is way out of my spend lane but it was a great wine. Then I moved on to a soup instead of the salad. I think it was a special, but it didn't taste super special. I went with the fish of the day which was VERY good with a dollop of mashed potatoes that seemed an odd pairing until I realized they were mainly a steak shop and I guess that's the starch to go to. If in the hotel for a business meeting, I recommend that it's a good place to meet up with your partners/co-workers.

We went to 18 Oaks for my Granddaughter’s birthday and it was wonderful!! Not just the food but the service was outstanding, even the manager stopped by to wish her happy birthday. We will definitely be back soon!

great place with an awesome service, the steaks are delicious and you can ask you add scallops or lobster a great place

The bartender and server were absolute top notch. The management is a little rough around the edges. Expensive but worth it.

The food was very salty. The steaks were average, at best. The fish was dry. Maybe it was on off-night for the chef. Not sure.

Our son has 6 of the top 9 allergies. We have to bring his food every time as most restaurants dont have a food allergy free menu. Chef Alex and the staff are amazing and they took great care of us. Alex met with us and asked about our needs. Our little Frederick was so happy. Thank you!

Our server Charles was excellent. Very attentive and professional. He made some great suggestions for dinner. We all shared "wedge" salads and they were excellent -very big portions and large enough for two to share. Our steaks were done to perfection. The large filet was large enough to share and the side of asparagus was big enough for the four of us. The chairs were comfortable for me but my tall husband and short friend were very uncomfortable with the short chairs. They could barely reach the table. They look great as I'm sure the decorator meant them to, but they are not practical. Very expensive, but very good.

Visited this restaurant 3 times, twice for drinks on their lovely patio and once for dinner. Each visit was wonderful. Adrian was a great bartender the first time. Molly was an amazing server for our absolutely wonderful dinner. And Mike was an awesome bartender who took the time to share with us some different spirits relative to Texas. Highly recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I decided to venture out to this steakhouse on the property of the Marriott resort in the Hill Country and were able to secure dinner reservations on Open Table. The restaurant is first class. Not only was the food outstanding but the service and ambiance were top notch. Cudos to our waiter, Casey, who made our meal a very pleasant and exceptional dining experience.

What a wonderful restaurant. The staff and the service were beyond excellent. My husband said it was the best steak dinner he has ever eaten. The mixed drinks were superb.

Justin makes delicious Bloody Mary's And was very knowledgeable about local whiskey's , beautiful view overlooking golf course

Average but nice steakhouse in hotel, actually next to golf pro shop. God's food, no complaints, but nothing special.

We wanted steak and 18 Oaks delivered. I've eaten at better steak places but seldom at one connected to a resort/spa. The food was well prepared and well presented. The wait staff were all great. A good choice if you plan on eating at the resort.

The hardest part is reserving a table. We had to beg for a table as seating is limited during Covid. The food was excellent. I had the bone in ribeye which was the most flavorful and tasty steaks I have had in a long time. My wife is a vegetarian and they were able to accommodate her with a pasta dish which she enjoyed. The drinks were also top notch. Our server was Jacob. He had a lot on his plate-it looked like he was managing 6-10 tables by himself but he maintained a positive attitude and was very professional. He made us laugh and you can tell he enjoyed his job. Overall we did not have a good experience at the JW Marriott Hill Country resort(see separate review) but the service and food and 18 oaks made up for it to a large extent and put a smile on our face.

The menu was wonderful and the food was amazing. The staff was very attentive and I enjoyed the dining experience.

First, the pros. The restaurant is a short walk from the JW Marriott in San Antonio. The view and ambiance are very pleasant. Upscale but not stuffy. The bacon appetizer is delicious. The caesar salad was huge. Share it. The ricotta salad, if available, is smaller but more unique and tastier. The sides were fairly generous. A single order of fries sufficed for a group of 7 (no one was starving when we sat down). The people who ordered the filet mignon loved it. The service was attentive and upbeat. Cons: it is expensive. The bone in NY strip was overly fatty and the meat, while flavorable, was somewhat tough. The chimichurri sauce was not as garlicky or flavorable as those I have had elsewhere. Could be a positive for some. Tasted more like a somewhat watery salsa. We skipped desserts.

This is a great place to eat if you don’t want to leave the JW Marriott grounds. Steaks are wonderful. Side dishes are really good and feed more than one person. Cocktails great! Service is absolutely their top priority here. Moderately expensive but worth it.

I had a rib eye which as very good but not memorable. The French onion soup was excellent. Atmosphere was very nice and service was excellent.

We had lunch at 18 Oaks after our round of golf. Rachel was our server and did and excellent job. The sweet potato fries were to die for - probably the best I've had.

New addition to the menu with the best ingredients carb and advocado appetizer. The combination of all the ingredients is just awesome

If you are wanting to know where the creator of the Honey Badger from the cocktail conference is, Mike Hartman is right here at 18 Oaks. You don't have to be a member to come here but you will be treated as one as soon as you enter. There is a happy hour and a good selection of liquor that is hard to find.

Dinner is amazing. They will go above and beyond. When you want to do something special for your significant other bring them here. They will wow you. And make you feel like your the only one that matter in the place. Amazing food. My ribeye was perfectly cooked. Crab cakes are great. Presentation was very nice. They have different specials for the game, fish as well as charcuterie every night. Awesome place to impress.

I took my wife to the JW for a weekend getaway, even though we live 15 min away. We spent our date night here, and was very pleased. The food was really good. My steak was cooked the way I asked, it was seasoned great, and was a good quality cut of meat. Service was good. Atmosphere was good. I didn't have any complaints. I recommend this place

Upon arrival, 07.02.2020, the hostess seemed a bit annoyed that we didn’t have a reservation. When we were seated the waiter was slow to respond and that continued throughout the meal. Keep in mind the restaurant as a whole was mostly empty. The overall experience was poor. The food we were actually served was alright, but I didn’t even get the side that was ordered for the meal. I wasn’t able to ask the staff about the missing sides because they were, yet again, missing in action. I would not recommend this establishment if your looking for a great experience.

Ambience, great Server (Rachel S) was awesome! She was knowledgeable about all the menu items. Gave great recommendation..especially the drinks! It was spot on. Loved her energy. Food, 👍🏾 great Highly recommended

A great choice for any occasion. Cocktails are excellent along with the service. Steak was cooked to perfection and sides were large enough to share. Not overly crowded and quiet enough to carry on a casual conversation at your table.

We had the pleasure of eating here last weekend. Little did we know what a treat we were in for. From the complimentary bread & house made jerky that alone is worth coming back for, to our bacon starter which was especially tasty. We took a chance on the bread pudding dessert, even though we were stuffed and neither of us really care for bread pudding type desserts, I'm so glad we did, we both LOVED it. Our server Matt was a delight. This would be a great place to celebrate a special occasion! We'll be back next time we are staying at the JW Marriott.

Mike Hartman was our bartender and server. He went above & beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of. We spent 4 days at the resort, and he was by far the best representative of your business. Thank you for your hospitality!!

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful steak dinner. Wonderful service from Charlie! Only complaint I could even make is to big of servings.... and who can complain about that! We shared a wagau filet, wedge salad, asparagus and potatoes. Absolutely great meal. Followed up with scrumptious chocolate lava cake and ice cream.

Without a doubt this was the best steak dinner I have ever had. After a day of golf we celebrated our 24th anniversary over dinner at 18 Oaks. We each ordered the 7 oz filet with scallops, mushrooms and asparagus; each item a la carte. Then the waiter brought us a tray of beautiful steak knives for each of us to choose from. We had never experienced this before. What a nice touch. When the meal arrived each steak was served it its mini cast iron skillet. The portobello mushrooms and asparagus were also each served in their own mini iron skillet. The skillets kept each item nice and warm. The steaks were grilled to perfection. After dinner we had creme brûlée and a 30 year old port that was to die for. Our waiter was fantastic. This place is very pricey but worth every penny. We will definitely return for another special occasion.

Eating at 18 Oaks, was hands down, one of our best memories of San Antonio. The location was walking distance to our room and the atmosphere was not too over the top formal that you would expect from the quality of food coming from the kitchen. The epitome of our experience was our waiter, Paul who attended to us with such grace and excitement, that I wasn't sure if I enjoyed the food as much as his rendition of it before I ordered. From hearing the specials to enjoying the complimentary bread platter with home made beef jerky and pickled cucumbers, to the amazing cuts of meat and then finishing with a share worthy desert, it never stopped impressing me or my husband. Pauls recommendations didn't disappoint and we each had a locally raised beef option. Myself, a rib eye and my husband the special waybu beef New York cut. We both had never type of beef, and while it was a bit pricey, we considered this as one of those occasions you don't always have the opportunity for. Oh, boy, was it amazing! It was so fun to "pick our weapon" when choosing our knife. What a difference it can make when your hand is comfortable cutting your meat. The sides are served in share worthy portions so roasted asparagus and the amazing goat cheese scallop potatoes were in order. Paul recommended a wonderful wine and even shared some of his knowledge that he learned while meeting with the wine reps about the different varieties. Paul and the incredible food prepared by the chef made our evening memorable and thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. We hope to come back and enjoy another an amazing meal when we are in town.

The staff here is super friendly and efficient, they get 5 stars. The food is fine, was not bad, just more of what you would get at an mid to upscale chain restaurant like a BJ's or something like that. I think because it is a hotel restaurant, it is probably more casual than going out in the city. Was expecting it to be a little better just because it is billed as a nice steakhouse and is at a golf club resort hotel. It was priced like a nicer steakhouse.
Completely Shocked - Fantastic
For a hotel/resort restrnt... these guys killed it. I am a meat/steak snob and my bone in ribeye was seared and served medium rare to perfection. Seasoning was on point... and one of the chef delivered sauces to accompany each - although none needed it. Service was superb. Luis Rangel absolutely took care of the meal, provided excellent recs and timely care. Will request Luis again.. and make sure my next trip to SA included 18 Oaks.
