12:20 pm not busy. Wait staff focused on themselves. Seems like no one wants to be a SERVER anymore. Bartender helpful and provided good service after he returned from someplace. Had a chicken Caesar salad 8.25 no chips no bread plastic to go bowl with plastic fork. Ate at the bar and I was thinking I would be served on real plates and a real fork. Maybe it's the airport location other Blue Mesa place are good. Southlake and north Plano TX.

Visited the Blue Mesa Taco and Tequila Bar for a quick dinner before catching my flight home. Ordered my meal of three blue corn enchiladas with green and red sauce, black beans and garlic rice. Meal was very good and came out hot. Decent portion. Surprise came when I saw a charge for the chips and salsa that my waitress asked if I wanted when I was seated - something that any other mexican type restaurant serves for free. I didn't raise an issue, because I probably should have asked the price - but falsely assumed it was free of charge. If I return here (I'm a frequent flyer to DFW), I'll certainly not say "yes" to the chips and salsa.

We alway to stop here before departures for breakfast tacos. Large portions freshly made with a nice little salsa. Top shelf marg is a favorite of the wife. I get silver patron shot and a beer. Nice place to people watch and the food & drinks are good. Sit at the bar for quick and friendly service.Great place to kick off your vacation.

This restaurant is located inside the DFW airport, so it can only be accessed if you have passed through security. The atmosphere is very enjoyable with faux wood-plank flooring, blue mood lights and brightly colored accent chairs. For an airport, it's a nice Mexican decor. Service is okay. The host was not very helpful, but our server was polite and attentive. The table was a bit sticky even though we saw it get wiped down. The tequila bar rocks. They have a great list of menu options, and they taste great. The classic blue margarita was fairly strong, but had wonderful flavors. The beer options are a bit limited. The chips and queso are interesting. They have a mix of tortilla and sweet potato chips. The cheese is white and light on flavor. The grilled taco and blue corn enchilada was okay. The taco was dry. The three-chili sauce on the enchilada was too much. It over powered the flavors inside. I really liked the loaded nachos. Each chip was fully covered and flavorful. The picadillo beef burrito has ginger rice which my daughter absolutely loved. This is an airport restaurant, so prices are higher than they should be. I'd definitely make a stop here in the future.

We were stranded in the airport due to weather and decided to stop here for breakfast. Wow, was that a good choice! The food was prepared to order, it was fresh, very tasty, and not overly proced. There is plenty of comfortable seating, and the employees were very friendly. If we are ever in DFW airport again we will definitely eat here!

Good service (Julio is GREAT!) and food arrived within a few minutes of ordering. Unfortunately, the guacamole was brown and the pico de gallo was shriveled and withered as if it has been sitting out for a while and the fajita meat looked like it was cooked a while ago and just reheated. Still, it might be the best food in DFW, LOL.

I rarely review airport restaurants, because, well... `nuff said. But we were running late, and we didn't like the looks of any of the other restaurants. We were standing outside this place, and a couple of flight attendants were coming out (they know everything) and told us there was good food here. We were too late for the migas we wanted for breakfast, so we opted for a burrito and a plate of enchiladas. They came hot and tasty in less than 15 minutes, just like the server promised. Worth a stop for a good meal.

Food was excellent, better than I had expected for airport food. Even though it was crowded, the service was excellent. Would definitely go here again.

Nice change if you have time available when traveling through the DFW airport. The queso was delicious and the street tacos enjoyable. Good quick service...Brittany was very attentive and did a great job.

Situated in Terminal E, this Mexican dining spot is pleasant and just right. The veggie burrito was perfect for lunch, and the service was pleasant.

Luckily our flight was delayed so we had the time to eat here. Blue margaritas to die for! Delicious guacamole! Service was ultra-fast and friendly. A truly lucky find. Highly recommend!

I had a multi-hour layover in Dallas, and I had my choice of 20 or so restaurants. I picked Blue Mesa for the good lighting and comfy seating. I enjoyed a nice meal and spend some time hanging out. I was not rushed or asked to purchase additional food even though I stayed for several hours.

Since I had a few hour layover in Dallas I decided I would pick up some food. Since this was the first non chain restaurant I saw I figured I would give it a try. I walked on up to the hostess, who after hitting on a customer for a few minutes, decided to sit us to a table. Looking over the menu I decided to get some chips and salsa to start with, which they charge for. They do the chips a little different, normal tortilla chips with some sweet potato chips mixed in. The combination was a nice change of pace. They give you 2 salsas, both were flavorful. For dinner I ordered the Adobe pie, which was a chicken/ corn maze combination, with red sauce on top of it. It wasn't like anything I've ever had before and was a surprisingly good item. Overall for airport food is real good. Btw the hostess was still hitting on the guy when I left.

We were stuck in DFW for a layover and wanted more than the usual fast food, so we tried Blue Mesa. We were pleasantly surprised. I had the sweet potato with chicken, which I'd describe as a chicken taco in a large sweet potato shell. It was filling and hit the spot. I've since recreated it at home. The staff was friendly too.

First time for Blue Mesa Taco & Tequilla - Most airport food is overpriced and nondescript but Blue Mesa delivers on their tacos and enchilada combos - Tried the chicken and spinach with zesty green sauce and it was awesome ! Well-plated with grilled plantains and a slice of lime. Maybe this is normal for Texas but a nice change from the usual airport fare. Well done folks !

Such a delicious meal that didn't rely on hot, hot sauce to stun your taste buds. The friendly, attentive service added to this airport dining experience. I had a veggie burrito that was chocked full of wonderfully seasoned vegetables. We had ordered chips and salsa as well. It came with a heaping bowl of all kinds of corn chips that were warm and thinly sliced. There were two kinds of salsa and both were really tasty. My husband had cheese and chicken enchiladas and gave them each high praise. This restaurant is doing many things right, right down to the cloth napkins and quick service. They can't help lacking ambience in an airport. Give them a try at DFW; it makes traveling better when you have a great meal to walk off.

What better way to pass some time while at the airport? The food was good, not amazing, but much better from what I expected. This is definitely a worthy stop. There was also a nice bar setup, another great option while waiting around the airport.

Had a flight to catch in 45 minutes. Sat down for a quick meal and it was delicious. The wait staff is super friendly and well-trained. Sit at the bar if you want faster service.

I popped in here before catching the Skylink to my next flight. I was very pleasantly surprised by the taste and price of this place. Their ginger rice will be a favorite food. For airport food I was very happy with my lunch.

This place was perfect!! I was promptly seated and immediately asked how I was doing on time for my next flight. Awesome! I ordered the tortilla soup which was the best I've ever had .... ever! Then I had the Mahi-mahi with sweet potatoes and grilled Asparagus! WOW!!! The skinny margarita was a little pricey for me at $11 but not as far as airport prices go and it was delicious! Can't wait to connect through DFW again and eat at The Blue Mesa!!!!

The menu is immense and has a wide selection from salads to Margaritas. We had the Blue Mesa chips and fresh Guacamole and Salsa. The Beef Fajitas was as good as any I’ve ever had and the Margaritas were a little pricey by my drink standards but the flavors were exceptional and the size impressive!

I love spicy, flavorful, mexican food. This place nails it. Maybe it was the extreme turbulence landing in Dallas and knowing I was going to live another day or maybe these really were that good. But geez those were good. Plan to go here again for sure!

My friend and I stopped for a drink here whilst waiting for a flight. The bar lady told us one price for the drinks which we paid brought our change over but no receipt when we asked for it she came back with it and the rest if the change as the drinks were cheaper than she had orginally tried to charge us. The guy cleaning the tables was v friendly though.

We had a 3 hour layover in DFW on a recent trip to Hawaii and I had seen this restaurant back in February while in Dallas for training but they had not yet opened. Stopped and grabbed lunch before our connecting flight and were blown away! Great service - fantastic margaritas; chips, salsa and guacamole! My wife had the three tacos and tried the steak, barbacoa and shrimp filling and loved the steak by far. I had the giant baked, stuffed sweet potato and went with the barbacoa filling and could not finish it even though I really wanted to - it was that good! Wish we had a Blue Mesa back home in Delaware!

The chicken nachos are amazing, and for a restaurant in an airport, even more impressive. It tasted fresh and seasoned with real spice, nothing from a pre mixed bag. Service was good. If you sit at the bar, even your soft drink comes in a frosty mug. Just what the doctored ordered before a 2 hour flight.

I know this is in an airport and all but the food and service were bad. Small portions and expensive for what you get. Its too bad because place lools real nice

airport Atmosphere: crappy, chain, bar, what else can I say? Just what you expect in an airport, just very low brow. Bar seating, a take out area, and then tables spread out in the eating area. Service: mediocre to average. We sat at the bar. There are several tvs at the bar, which is why we ended up there. One of the few places in the d terminal where the tvs seemed at close to eye level and not having to crane your neck. Service was prompt but just disinterested. Food: Caesar salad had bits and pieces of rotten romaine and other enormous pieces of the outside leaves. Hard, store bought flavorless croutons, shredded Parm from a package and what they said was roasted pepper was onion. Dressing came in a foil package and the whole thing was served in a plastic bowl with plastic silverware and two paper napkins. The sweet potato chips were far better. Served also in a plastic bowl they were not greasy at all and all were crisp. They were served with a mild salsa. Beer choices were very, very limited: bud, colors, Sierra Nevada, dos Equis and a couple others. Clearly the margaritas, the blue one especially, were there draw. We didn't try those. Overall: fine for watching basketball at the airport as long as expectations are very low.

unbelievable service---drinks order never came and a side dish presented after meal finished.. A gorgeous place and we had enjoyed catering and found it delicious-but the execrable service rendered it a disaster evening-wait staff way over head and it was not crowded. would not return. Manager filled water glasses.. so the food is good and many people there just beware.

We love Blue Mesa! Be sure and do NOT miss the Sunday brunch you definitely get a bang for your buck!

Stopped for a meal during a long layover. Silly me, I was excited about getting my first taste of real southwest food on trip to the Southwest. I was completely underwhelmed and totally disappointed. I ordered my favorite, carnitas tacos. They arrived suspiciously quickly and scantily dressed, with only a sprinkling of tired, bland salsa and some even more nondescript iceberg lettuce. Plus a side of rice and beans that looked dipped from a cafeteria pan (Ican't judge how they tasted because i was afraid to subject my palate to them). I have had far better tacos from food trucks. To add insult to injury, they were outrageously expensive($22.00), even for an airport venue. I might not have noticed the mediocrity of the meal had the "top shelf" margherita I ordered ($17.50 ) done it's job, but sadly it tasted like a watered down Gatorade and did nothing to enhance my culinary experience. The only bright spot ( and the reason the review is a 2 instead of a 1) is that the waitress, Ashley, was friendly and attentive. My advice: grab a candy bar at an airport kiosk and hold out for the real thing.

We got in to DFW late in the evening and were super hungry from traveling most of the day. The staff at Blue Mesa was gracious enough to let us order some food, despite being closing time for the grill. We ordered the shrimp street taco meal and the 3 taco (2 chicken & 1 steak) & enchilada meal. All of it was pretty good and definitely better than we expected for late night airport food. It was a little pricey, but we didn't complain because we got to eat and it was pretty good.

We had a really disgusting meal here. My wife had the chicken taco salad, i had a steak burrito. The food was waaay over spiced (i like spicey food) and left us both with a stomach ache. With some many options in the terminal, i would look elsewhere for food.

The wife & I had a 5 hour layover in DFW, and rather than pay for expensive food in the Admirals Club, the wife and I ventured to Blue Mesa Taco & Tequila Bar on the recommendation of our AA Five Star rep, Dale. The staff here was pretty unfriendly, but the food was pretty good. I ordered the California Tacos, while the wife ordered the California Quesadilla. Both had your choice of pork, chicken or beef with bacon. The taco also had a sprinkling of tomato, lettuce and shredded cheese with a side of salsa. The quesadilla had similar stuffing, sans the vegetables with a side of pico de gallo. Both were tasty and a little expensive, but reasonable enough by airport standards. If on another long layover in DFW, I would probably visit here again.

I ate here for a quick lunch before my flight. The chips and quesa were great. The top-shelf margarita was also very good. The 3 taco entree was not worth mentioning. They were very small and quite bland.

Wanted a drink and food prior to returning back home from a Weekend Wedding. Luckily I love Margaritas and nachos so much. The prices were way out of line even for an airport. $12.00 for a small one! But it was an experience. Back home safely where I can enjoy Cayman Jack's and nachos for a small price

Food is very good, relaxing table service, full bar. And no more than you'll pay for food at a fast-food joint in the main terminal. Fajitas for two is a great option. Service is always a bit dicey.

I took an early bird flight at DFW International Airport recently. I had time for breakfast, so I searched Terminal E to find a place to eat. I was surprised to find Blue Mesa, and since I have previously had some great breakfasts at Blue Mesa in Fort Worth, I decided to eat there. I stood at the entrance waiting for a server for about five minutes and nobody came to seat me, so I got in the take-out line and ordered from the options they had there. Basically, there were four options: A breakfast platter, 3 breakfast tacos, a breakfast burrito, and breakfast taco plate. I selected the 3 breakfast tacos and a woman took my order and scooped egg, sausage, and cheese into flour tortilla shells. It came with a side of salsa. When I got out of the take out line I went back to the restaurant area to sit down, but by now a server had shown up and told me that since I ordered take out I couldn’t sit in the restaurant. Keep in mind it 6:00 a.m. and there isn’t a soul in place. Anyway, I complained to a higher up and they let me eat in the restaurant area. I dug into the tacos expecting them to taste like the food I ordered at the Fort Worth Blue Mesa, but I was sadly disappointed. The stuff they called sausage was overly seasoned, overcooked bits of beef or pork (I couldn't tell). The flour tortilla shells hadn’t been warmed and the eggs were also cold. Blue Mesa is known for their colorful exotic salsas, but the stuff they give me could have passed for the sauce they serve at Taco Bueno. This wasn’t the Blue Mesa I remembered. Really the only positive thing I can say is that the tacos were cheap. They were about six dollars and change, and the portions they gave you were big. However, the quality of the food didn’t meet my expectations for Blue Mesa and if I wind up looking for a place to eat in Terminal E again, I will choose another restaurant.

Super fast and the food was great. Service was good and right on. Good to know this place is here for future trips.

Great place to seat around while waiting on b your flight. The beers ate ice cold, the chips and salsa both spicy ' mild are good. We were able to spilt and app the blue mesa sampler and our daughter was able to get the vege burrito half to go and ate the other half there. Or food was fresh and tasted good and the beers stayed cold. Probably one of the best places in the airport top eat if your neat gate E.

Awesome tex mex and great service. Guacamole was fantastic and the quesadillas were excellent, lime margarita was tasty and the beer was Cold! Enjoy

This place was a life saver after going to a different place in the airport that was horrible. The server was very nice and attentive. The drinks were made right. We just share a couple appetizers but they were top notch. Will definitely go back.

We got to the airport pretty early so we decided to eat something. Blue Mesa was right next to our gate in terminal E so we went there. We ordered some queso and then combo fajitas to split. The queso was really tasty, but it was a little cool... the waiter took it back and he got us a new one with new warm chips and it was perfect. The fajitas were really good, I was not expecting them to be as good as they were. The steak was well marinated and very tender. The chicken was juicy and well seasoned as well. Only complaint was that cheese and Sour cream are up charges which for fajitas, is kinda lame.

While getting to the airport in more than enough time to catch our flight (due to crap going on in this crazy world) we found this little airport gem. The service was amazing and it just went up from there. Highly recommend their “Blue Mesa” margarita and homemade guacamole. Both were phenomenal. Also yummy were the quesadillas. Great spot!!! Thanks for the yumminess!!!

Had steak fajitas and a blue Margarita. Food arrived quickly and while not the the best I've ever had, was good. Excellent Margarita and fantastic service. Overall a very pleasant surprise for airport food. Will be back.

This place was terrible service, I could not even get served ! I waited 15 minutes and watched the waitress come by 7 times (Robin), and she did not stop at all. The place was not really very busy either. When I decided to leave, I thought I would inform management as to why, and it took 4 minutes to get the bartendress to break away from her conversation with another coworker ! Terrible, will not stop and waste my time again.

It's an airport restaurant. Don't expect much more. Food was decent, but nothing special. Standard Mexican fare.

The food was delicious, with options for our allergies, as well as our time schedule! Very relaxed also.

Absolutely incredible food. It was catered, so I'm not sure about the actual location - but the cheese enchiladas were to die for.

Just had an excellent but pricey margarita. It was a better blend though. I also had the spinach and blackk been enchilada. I think the portion could have been larger. I did enjoy my stay and had no issues with the service

Ate here prior to boarding a flight. Really wanted some Tex-Mex and this place did not disappoint. Had the taco dinner and nachos with guac. Really tasty food that's also easy on the eyes.

So I stopped here twice coming and going. On the outbound I tried a burrito. Ok but not super. Kinda hard not to have a super burrito. It was fast though and well wrapped so it was easy to eat on the flight. They have a separate area for the to go food and a fine in restaurant/bar. The return stop was a visit to the bar. They were closing up but were gracious in offering to serve me one drink that earned this stop the 4th star.

Ordered enchilada and plate arrives within 5 minutes I mean common even a fast food takes longer - anyhow the food was dry lukewarm with green salsa all over, had a heartburn for a an hour, never again. Should have walked passed gate 32 Chinese cooking live on stove rightin front just order ingredients and done.

We decided to eat lunch here because we enjoy Mexican-American or Tex-Mex cuisine. They also had a pretty good selection of tequilas so I decided to try one. I asked Andy what the difference was between two Patron tequilas and he said they weren't really any different, the one just cost more. I asked if they were served with sangrita (I enjoy getting that with my tequila when in Mexico) and he said, "We can make that happen." The tequila came with a glass of sangria not sangrita and they are VERY different, sangria not going well at all with tequila. The service, other than being not very well informed over tequilas, which is interesting considering the name of the restaurant, was fair. Andy was moderately friendly and fairly prompt, though it took a fair amount of time to get and settle the check. The food was unremarkable. It was presented well and at proper temperature but lacked the seasoning commonly associated with Mexican style dishes. The portion sizes were ample. In summary, the name was a teaser but the food didn't meet my expectations and the server didn't understand the products. I will choose a different place to eat if I return to DFW airport.

Had a few hours to kill before our flight. Wanted to watch football and were able to get seats at the bar. Had some drinks and steak quesadillas. Everything was on par as from as taste but our bartender Katie was above par. She was attentive to each person at the bar and was honestly one of the better bartenders we have dealt with & we have dealt with our share. I highly recommend visiting Blue Messa but make sure you sit at Katie’s section of the bar and you will not be disappointed.

Ordered the beef burritto bowl for $18 bucks… It was served in about 5 minutes and was literally a very small bowl of iceberg lettuce and crockpot lukewarm taco meat dumped on top of it. Tasted awful, like a taco-in-a-bag at your local fair quality. Truly awful food. Ordered 2 shots of tequila for a “reasonably affordable” price, (is what I asked for) Server gave me two $13 shots….?? Very poor quality food, and poor quality service. Take your business elsewhere!!

A group of 7 returning from a medical mission trip to Central America broke up a long layover in a great way by having a late lunch here. We had heard rave reviews about their sweet potato chips and salsa and we concurred! Everyone was very happy with their salads and signature dishes and the service was warm, prompt and friendly.

During our layover en route to San Diego we ate here. For an airport restaurant it was very good. Service with a smile and very prompt. And surprisingly the food was good. I had the street tacos while my enjoyed the standard tacos. If you need a bite before you board, we'd recommend Blue Mesa. I gave it an average mark for atmosphere, I mean it's like in an airport!

This was our first time to Dallas airport and we found the selection of restaurants to be very good. We chose Blue Mesa because of their "street tacos". As frequent travellers to the Caribbean and Central America, we always enjoy good street food. Blue Mesa offered 4 small tacos with your choice of filling (we had 2 with beef and 2 with steak), along with ginger rice and black beans for $9.95. We really enjoyed them and thought it was very good value for money. We shared the plate and there was enough for 2 people if you aren't looking for a huge meal. They had a good selection of other items on their menu also.

The food is okay. It's not great, but not bad. The bar top is large and wraps around the bar with multiple TVs behind the bar. This location is in between gates E30 and E31 and right in front of the Skylink entrance. It's also near the yoga studio. 😌 I had the chicken enchiladas with tomatillo sauce (the green sauce). The enchiladas were very meaty and the sauce was good. The black beans were bland, but the ginger rice was good.

Fortunately stopped by twice within 3 days of each visit. First I had a chicken taco and then the steak quesadilla. The steak quesadilla had more cheese than steak and the steak was cubed, very thin. Almost fake. Wasn't a big fan of the food. Fun little joint though.

I enjoyed the smoked chicken enchiladas and had flan for dessert. Sat at the bar and had great service from Kelly. Great place to hang out while waiting for flight.

Yikes. They closed early and the manager very aggressively and rudely kicked out patrons while telling co workers he had to be back at 6 am.

The food here was decent for the price. I would eat here again. BUT, When my bill arrived, I noticed that the credit card slip was significantly higher than the restaurant receipt. I'm no math genius, but it looks like whoever printed the second printed receipt removed the drinks from my bill, but is still having me pay for them. I noticed the difference, but my waitress was magically very busy and never did come over to answer any questions I might have. I got what I paid for, but it looks like someone is stealing from the restaurant. Eat here. The food is good. But pay cash.

Walked around DFW at length and this place had a guy on a guitar playing, so I stopped in and was pleasantly suprised by the quality of the food and how quick they were. If in DFW again, I'll search them out.

We stopped here for some preflight drinks and appetizers. The customer service is great, very cheerful barmaid. The appetizer sampler stated "enough to share", don't believe that! Was just enough for one person at $15. I realize the drink prices are inflated, but still did not prepare me for sticker shock! The food was just ok, draft beer was good. Will probably not try it again. We have been to the restaurant several times and know the food quality to be much better there.

I go through DFW a lot so I felt stuck going to or avoiding the same restaurants there during a recent layover. I stumbled upon Blue Mesa because I had longer than usual to wait for my next flight and I'm glad I found it. Excellent "street tacos" of beef, shrimp, and chicken along with rice and refried beans, served by an excellent server, Michael. They also have a bar lined with TV so it made a good lunch better being able to watch some college football as well. If you are in the D terminal near gate 30, I would suggest trying Blue Mesa... I know I was happy I stopped by.

Great food and customer service! We were so hungry after getting off our delayed flight. Joel was a great server.

Nothing really special about this restaurant other than the fact it is a nice, clean, sit down establishment in the Dallas airport. Our server was pleasant. The food was average okay.

Stopped here for a quick bite before boarding my plane for home. I picked this spot because it had the least negative review on Yelp for restaurants in Terminal E. Host was OK but the person that took me my table was not interested in working that day. The server was much nicer and asked whether I wanted a light or heavy meal. I said a light meal so she suggested the tortilla soup, which I ordered. It was fine but nothing special. Since it was a single dish meal, there isn’t much to judge on. It was overall OK but nothing special. Probably wouldn’t go back on my next visit to the airport.

Food was good too. I ordered the grilled fish with sweet potatoes and asparagus. Mahimahi was great, asparagus fresh, sweet potatoes a bit under done. Also got rice and salad for $21 and a bloody Mary for $9. Not expensive for being at the airport.

Ate queso and had a drink the queso was good but you dont get much. Service was excellent. The drink was the mango habanero and it is HOT!! Oh gosh do not get it unless you can take eating 4 solid raw jalapeños. Good overall. Raspberry frozen margarita was yummy.

I stopped in for some dinner at the bar in between flights. The customer service provided by Rich at the bar was superb. I am in a position where I have to get people to take care of the customer and Rich demonstrated that he cared about the quality of his work and his customer service. Way to go! Food was excellent and not heavy or greasy. Value was good considering the traditional uptick seen in airport pricing. I will be back if I need dinner at DFW again.

Not a blue mesa with a kitchen. Grab and go salads. There is a small bar with beer and drinks. I would skip next time.

I had the blue corn chicken enchiladas with tomatillo sauce. The chicken was inside the enchiladas was bone dry, the beans were cold and the rice lacked any flavor. While they comp'ed the whole meal, I'd much rather have had a good meal and payed for it. I won't ever go back to this place at DFW. I agree with others that there are many other places to try. Don't waste your time or your money here. Go to Wendy's just a short walk away, it would probably be way better.

The chips and salsa were good for what it was! We ordered the Desert Fire Salsa (Hot) and surprisingly it was really as spicy as advertised. It was almost too spicy, but I'm a G, I can handle it! My boyfriend had the Steak Relleno Burrito which for airport food was pretty good. I was also surprised by my Chicken Club Burrito. It was full of ingredients, no stinginess there. I enjoyed it! Although we ate food, Blue Mesa is more a bar type setting but it was good to know that the food was just as good as the drinks (assuming the drinks are good).

Margarita's were delicious. Food was nummy! Their Jalapeño Jam was simply ridiculously good. Very good good. Chicken Nachos were truly spectacular. Loved the experience. Would return any time!! :-D

I rarely write reviews for airport restaurants. Although I'm in and out of airports and have had many meals there I just never really like to review them because I think by nature they are pretty subpar. But definitely I felt compelled to leave a review. I previously lived in Dallas and been to Blue Mesa Restaurant and had totally decent meals there and great service. But yesterday's meal was so bad that I had to leave an objective review. I ordered tacos for myself and my wife and meals for my kids. The cup that the waitress brought over had a hole in it so water was leaking out all over the table. I pointed it out and the waitress seemed indifferent and didn't even bring over some napkins without me really pushing her to bring some so I could clean the table. I ordered beef tacos and she brought out chicken tacos. I pointed out that she screwed up the order and she seemed indifferent and unapologetic. Just horrible service and it wasn't even busy so there was no excuse. Definitely I'd avoid this place. The food was very mediocre as well. In fact, my wife barely ate one of her two chicken tacos.

When I saw the few takeout choices, I was skeptical, but the burrito bowl was really good food and a substantial meal for under $10. Will definitely try that again when I need a meal at the airport.

Not a very inspiring place. I ordered a steak burrito and tortilla soup. They ran out of soup. The burrito was lukewarm, the steak very chewy. The rice in the burrito was ginger rice, leading me to suspect they get their rice done by the nearby Asian fast food. The beer was expensive.

Blue Mesa at DFW Airport is clean comfortable and inexpensive. Bartender was nice and cordial. However waitress (purple shirt) was not. I got a flat Corona beer, as it was opened the top practically fell off and had no fizz. I told the waitres that my beer was flat and was told"I have never encounter a flat bottle beer" so I guess I wasn't telling the truth. So I just drank my flat beer and that was that. Music was also loud and not relaxing.

Better than expected. I was surprised when the chips and salsa was the same quality as were the wonderful, best in Fort Worth Margaritas. I ordered three beef tacos and they were very good. Soft shell with a bit of cilantro and cheese goes great with the house rita! I dig Blue Mesa, they are great for our community! If you are in Dallas, try their new place, TNT (Tacos and Tequila)!

We had their appetizer sampler and house margaritas while waiting on our flight. The food was very good and the margaritas were not bad. Next time we would probably go for the top shelf margaritas. Had great conversations with the bartenders and the service was good.

Julio the bartender is the sweetest ever. He made my 2 hour layover worth it. So kind and friendly, gave me recommendations. The food may not be the best, but he sure is!

At the front of the restaurant they have a three minute taco/burrito operation that's fabulous. During that time a person can get several different snatch and go tacos or burritos and it's time and money well spent. Whenever I have a flight out of Terminal E in the morning this is my go to spot for breakfast. AND the service is always top notch. Kerrin in particular deserves special recognition.

Had a layover last night at DFW for 2 hours, and tried this place for a light meal. Had to wait a while for a table, but that process was handled efficiently and it appeared social distancing of tables was being followed. Our server was average. My wife had a taco salad - which was "bottom in class" from quality and presentation points of view. As I'd had a big lunch, I just had a glass of wine and chicken taquitos. They seemed to be from a frozen box of taquitos you might find in a grocery store, not made to order, and were average at best. As there as many dining opportunities throughout the airport, I'd "pass" on this one.

Been to their restaurant in Addison and much better than the airport location. Best thing I can say is the food was hot. Good chips and salsa. If you have time to kill and want to grab a bite, certainly better than most options at terminal E. Otherwise, their other restaurant is a lot better.

In an airport restaurant, it's a pretty safe bet that most diners are between flights. While they may have an hour, they don't have an unlimited amount of time, so speed of service is more of a factor than it would be in a different place. The tortilla soup was very good; the Navajo chicken salad acceptable, although what makes it "Navajo" is beyond me. However, I can't recommend it because of the appalling service. My server took my drink order, then proceeded to ignore me and clear dirty tables. He didn't return for my food order until my drink was ready -- an $11.50 (!) skinny margarita. After my food finally came out, he disappeared. He never once refilled my water. When I finished eating, I saw him at the hostess station, talking to some young women passing by. I tried to catch his eye, waved my hand, mimicked writing a check, nothing. A busboy saw me, went up and talked to him, then brought my check and processed it. If I could have tipped the busboy instead of him, I'd have done it, but I had no cash.

Quesadilla, fajitas, guacamole, chips were great! Service was too. This was the best place we ate in Dallas on the way out of town. Lucky find!

Good airport food! I had a good avocado basil pesto quesadilla. It was good. Friendly staff. I recommend if you want something besides burgers and fries.

Decent stop for dinner while stuck at DFW. Had the street tacos which were decent enough and a giant "beer-rita". Worth the stop if you happen to be in Terminal E in DFW.

Blue Mesa Taco and Tequila Bar is located inside the secure area of Terminal E at DFW Airport, near gates 30-33. This restaurant is a lovely dining experience and a wonderful alternative to airport fast food. The service is very good and the menu is excellent. The restaurant offers breakfast through dinner options, with plenty of bar options. The is certainly not what you might expect from an airport in terms of dining. If you're in Terminal E, Blue Mesa is worth a stop.

After a long flight, if you land in terminal E, it's a nice comfortable bar to stop in and have a drink. Decent service. Friendly bartender. Clean busy place. They do also sell food.

We have stopped at Blue Margaritas each time before making our connecting flight to Cancun. The margaritas are great, service is fast and food is pretty good too. We enjoy a little Mexican preparation for our vacation. Starts us off right each time. We will see you again next trip Blue Mesa!

This little bar and grill at the DFW airport has excellent food. I have eaten here several times, including steak quesadillas, breakfast quesadillas, burritos, and chips and guac. The breakfast quesadillas were really good. Very fresh ingredients. Grab a bag to go and eat on your plane, departing from terminal D, close to gate D31.

If you are stuck in Terminal D with a two-hour wait for your delayed departure to NY, you could do worse than the reasonable facsimile of Tex-Mex they serve at the Blue Mesa. Steer clear of the saline tortilla soup and save your appetite for the lighter fish or steak entrees. The accompanying smoky black beans and jalapeno relish were standouts. Steep prices and surly/saccharine service are airport norms and Blue Mesa is no different. Recommended if your next meal is only going to be a bag of peanuts...

We found ourselves hungry during a layover in Dallas and were not overly impressed with the options that the terminal presented us with. There was a decent looking burger bar, but we had just fired up the grill at home the previous night, so we opted for some Mexican food. The service was prompt and friendly. The vibe was a bit odd, but it's the airport! Great people watching to be had! We tried the chips and queso for an appetizer. The queso was nothing special, but they brought out a nice variety of chips. Standard corn, blue, and a tasty sweet potato chip that I really enjoyed. We both ordered a salad with chicken, I forget the name. It was good, but because they piled into a big, deep bowl many of the toppings hid in the bottom until the end. I forgot to ask for the dressing on the side, and they put more than I would have on the salad, which helped cover up the dryness of the chicken.

I stopped here during a 3 hour layover to Sweden. After walking the halls at DFW I saw this place with some loud but not obnoxious current music playing, and what seemed to be hard working staff hard at work. I sat at the bar and immediately got greeted and offered food and drink - a plus! Got the taco salad, a top shelf with 1800 reposado and a shot...all were great. Chicken in the taco salad (you can choose chicken beef or steak) was REAL chicken - didnt seem defrosted. Lettuce, sour cream and guacamole were fresh. My waitress was attentive and friendly. All good here!

Today when visiting this establishment, I didn’t receive my ticket and asked for help. When a gentleman brought me my ticket I told him my waiter must not have heard me. He replied by telling me to calm down in a condescending tone. I was very calm and just making a comment. I also asked to speak with a manager but they did not get one for me. I guess they know we have flights to catch. This is not how to treat customers. I come through here at least twice a month and won’t return Food is good but not worth being treated poorly.

2.0 gets credit for being open shortly after 5:00 am. I had coffee and a muffin. Neither were anything special, but at that early hour I was simply happy to be able to get something.

I am so disgusted that I can not describe on detail the horrible experience there! Like another review mentioned, food is heated on microwave. The nachos I had ordered were burnt. Service? Nothing. I ordered apple juice and waiter said if I wanted a glass with that?!!! Waiters were chatting and it was hard to get the bill. Go anywhere else but here!

I had the blue chip nachos. They tasted good, but they were a bit soggy when they finally got to me. Ana was my server & was most pleasant to me & the family next to me Good place to eat if you have some papers you need to review before your flight.

The street taco was tasty. You can get 3 tacos with different types - I got chicken, beef, and shrimp. They are all amazing. The service was fast! I got my food in less than 5 minutes.

My son found this restaurant when I flew into Dallas. The food was very unique...and a different tex-mex than I was used to.

It is worth hopping on the train if you have time to go eat at the Taco & Tequila Bar! Strong margaritas with great mexican food - this is not your average airport restaurant. Whether just for tortilla soup & salad or fajitas, you will find something great - and spicy - for everyone in your party.

Nothing really special about the food they serve. It’s fine by the airport standards but don’t expect much. The service is quite quick but the food is definitely overpriced.

I had a few hours to waste and was looking for a good sit-down restaurant in the DFW Airport when I ran across Blue Mesa. Someone had recommended Blue Mesa in Dallas, but I didn't have a chance to get tthere, so I was happy to see another one in the airport. I had the best chicken tortilla soup, along with some awesome guacamole and chips, including sweet potato chips. The server was working alone that day, but she handled it like a champ! Next time I am in Dallas, I will make time to go to the full restaurant.

My flight kept getting delayed significantly so I stopped in here. The food was so so but the drinks were strong and good. Thomas was fantastic and kind and handled the bar well. Come here if you're at terminal E.
Don't walk by!
I thought this was really good food - and remarkable food for what you expect in an airport terminal! I got the blue nachos; they were excellent!
