Hurry up and Wait for Horrible Food

By Greg H |

Up until yesterday, 54th Street was our designated birthdays, holidays, anniversary, etc, go to place. Sometimes, it’s for lunch, other times it’s for dinner. This time we arrived exactly at 4:30pm. We wanted to beat the 5pm rush hour traffic to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The parking lot was fairly empty. I was a little shocked when the hostess stated there would be a 5-minute wait to be seated, the place was empty. As we waited another party of 3 came in, and she told them there would be a 25-minute wait. I asked the hostess, why were we having to wait. She stated with a bit of an attitude, they were short on servers. As we waited 2 more groups came in and some chose to wait others didn’t; and one couple that stated they would sit at the bar. We were finally seated and the first thing I noticed was there were several uncleaned tables around me. Then I counted the seated tables which totaled 12 tables, not including a few people at the bar. In our section was 2 servers. Our server did an excellent job and I left him a good tip despite the experience. I assume the kitchen staff was short as well. I ordered my usual Philly steak sandwich. It looked horrible upon receiving it, and the meat was tough and chewy. I ate a small piece of the sandwich and requested a to go box and took it home and gave it to my dog. I had second thoughts about even giving it to him. This was a horrible, horrible dining experience. Your cuts ended a family tradition.

Great Place!

Was in town for a month. Stayed in the Hotel next door. Staff is awesome! Sign up for their rewards program if you are going to be there for more than a few days. You get 5$ credits free apps etc. great place for sporting events. Just happen to be in town for the Spurs games. Place was nuts. Get the cheese bites. Ribs are good as well. Also you can get a half slab ribs and a side for 8$ not on the menu.

54th Street Bar and Grill

By Cee Cee |

New in the neighborhood this Bar and Brew restaurant was full and rocking. The parking lot looked like a drive through with the cars coming and going as I drove up. My waiter Mr. T asked if it was my first time and all evening he checked on me as he waited on his other guest. He helped pick a wine my food cane fast it was good but the service was even better. Good all around.

What a yummy last meal inTexas

By Jill B |

We are not from the area and chose to eat here because it was within the shuttle distance they would take us, and it is not a chain with which we are familiar. The shuttle driver said he had never had a bad meal there. Well, add us to the list! We did not wait for a table. They menu is varied enough that everyone can find something they want. Hunny got fish tacos and I got grilled chicken sandwich with avocado already and a whole bunch of other stuff. Ordered brussel sprouts for a side. Good golly! They were fantastic! Seriously, I would go there just for the Brussels?? We split a carrot cake for dessert. Good, a little over the top with the creme' anglais, but great flavor One piece was too big for us to split! So happy we "discovered" this place. Now if only they would come to my state!!

Great experience

Great food. Fried Mushroom caps were great. Service was very good and drinks were excellent. Sport bar atmoshphere.

Amazing food - affordable price

By Pam A |

We ate here because of the reviews and the fact it was next door to our hotel. Great service, huge portions of food and we fed 6 adults (including 2 airman and 1 sailor) for $100 (including tip!). Everyone was completely satisfied and full. My husband said the Rib-Eye was excellent. I had a stuff baked potato that was amazing! If we are ever in San Antonio again - 54th Street Grill and Bar is going to be our first place to eat!

Worse service and Food

By LaVern2011 |

This was to be a family event celebration that was horrible to say it nice. One napkin had dried food stuck on it. A double mahanten on the rocks was not the right drink when it arrived because it arrived in a martini glass. The chicken dinner was so dry a fork could NOT push through it. Flagged the waitress ... sent to the kitchen. Free dessert was promised. I had 1/2 order of ribs and chicken tenders. No dipping sauce and no extra napkins. Again flagged someone down .. I asked for extra ranch...I got ranch and a white gravy substance. Still no napkins. Waited 30 minutes for a different drink order .. changed to a double markers on the rocks took 20 minutes. Talked to manage ... never said sorry. He said " We will get you that dessert"...we got it and was charged. During our whole time there ... the restaurant was only half the occupied ... so NOT over busy. When we walked out . Bar tender was was talking with 4 staff members. 20 minutes for a simple pour. We will never go there again. BTW ... my son works at the AFB .. my grandson at HEB ... word of mouth reviews make written even worse

Miracle on 54th Street

By SHayes3 |

Solid choice for a dinner. The menu is pretty extensive with something for everyone. I had the double smashed burger and fries Super!!!! The burger was cook exactly as I had asked. The fries.....well they were fries. Good plain old fries. The beer selection is also very good...I had the 512. The bartender was exceptional. He was as polite as I've ever had. He was attentive without hovering. He answered questions about the menu with enough detail for you to make an informed decision. The place has tons of large TVs with primarily sports stations displayed. The ambiance is ecclectic and comfortable. The place was easy to have a conversation in....at least when I was there. Prices are fair for the portions and quality. I will go again for sure.

Order DoorDash from this location Terrible!!

By Sherif J |

Me and wife was visiting from Houston was tired from being out all day so we thought we would DoorDash from this location which was a terrible idea first they didn’t give us nothing to eat with in the bag at all , we didn’t get our bread that came with order at all I order the chicken fried steak this steak was burnt and real tuff this location doesn’t care about what they put out in there delivery order at all they should b a shame I have ate several times at the live oak location when we visit way better food would never order or eat at this location again when we visit for sure!!!

Cold Beers!

By texastravler101 |

Cold Beers, is all this place has going for it. We arrived for dinner and needed a table for five people. We waited about thirty minutes before we were seated. It was a very busy night and we had to wait quite sometime before the server took our drink order. We were told that the Beer-Margaritas were good... Not so much. I ordered one to give it a try and my husband had a top shelf margarita. This place has a long way to go to get to decent drinkable margaritas. We stuck with plain beers to be on the safe side. We ordered steaks and potatoes and they were pretty good. The ambiance is very loud so its best to visit with family and friends. Customer service needs some improvement. If in the area again with lots of time to kill we may give this place another try. Hopefully their customer service is better.

Lots of food

By familytravelerswith4 |

Good food and large portions. Noisy with music and tv's from bar area. Walking distance from marriot, choice and Homewood.

1st visit. Appetizers were great, mushrooms were the best I have ever had, food was great, beer was cold. I would definitely come back

Delicious Chicken strips!!

By 287Sylvia |

My Husband ordered the steak tacos, I ordered chicken strips; they were both delicious and the helpings were generous! Our server was friendly and helpful. The decor is interesting to look at while waiting for your meal. Only negative was it took longer than necessary to receive our bill and then to return with the credit card and receipt.

Great food and service

By beachbreeze66 |

We were staying in the area and really enjoyed our meal here. There is a wide variety on the menu. Everything we ordered was good. Better than other chain options in the area for dinner. Service was also great. Appreciated gluten-free options as well.

It was not what they said it was!

By JUSTICE S |

The burgers that we had were not ant better then Whataburger. On top of that it took 30 min. to get them. The place was very loud with more people just walking around and I guess they worked there. We went because of the ratings but I did not care for the place!

Friendly staff and good food

By Mary M |

You have plenty to choose from on the menu. The staff is very nice and the service is quick. We had the club, the fajita salad, and the croissant sandwich. Everyone said their food was good.

Nice lunch

By Theresa1426 |

Chicken salad sandwich with southern green beans. Salad was one of the best chicken salad sandwiches nice and cold for a hot summer day. Highly recommend this restaurant wherever you are haven't had one thing I disliked. When the weather turns cooler love their soup

Don't Bother

By TravelLeigh10 |

We came here for a late lunch on a week day. We were a party of 4 and there were maybe 4 or 5 other tables filled with plenty of waitstaff working. It took us just under an hour to get our food even tho we didn't order anything extravagant, sandwiches and salads. My Summer Chicken Salad was mediocre at best and my friend's Reuben wasn't hot. Worst part is that I ended up getting sick about 20 minutes after I ate. Never again.

Great food Great customer service

By NewbrideKathy |

Family trip from Massachusetts for my stepsons Airforce Graduation and stopped here for lunch. Not only is the food fabulous and plentiful but the manager came over to greet us, congratulate our Airman and offered to pay for his meal. Very impressive. Fun, nicely decorated atmosphere , and definitely GREAT food! Have to try the potato soup!

Great meal at 54th St Grill

By ErinFogME |

We stayed at Homewood Suites across the street while visiting our newly graduated Airman son at Lackland. We wanted to take him out to dinner from the hotel but didn't feel like driving, so we walked across the street to 54th. The food was excellent as well as the service; wide variety on the menu and they had a great gluten-free selection as well. Would definitely go again if ever in the area.

VERY IMPRESSED

By sierriously |

This place was fantastic! Such a cute atmosphere and our waitress, Jenna, was good. The food was a great bang for your buck. We shared a side of onion rings for an app and it was more than enough of a teaser. They have a tower appetizer but it would've been far too much for two of us. Highly recommend for a whole table. The honey mustard is SCRUMPTIOUS! My SO ordered the veggie burger and he didn't even come up for air. I ordered the Idaho baked potato platter that came with a loaded baked potato and a caesar salad AND a medium sized loaf of DELICIOUS bread and butter spread. I couldn't eat half of it although I desperately wanted to. The potato was a delicious mixture of butter, sour cream, and broccoli. The caesar salad was fresh and crisp. The bread was fantastic (reminded me of the bread at Outback Steakhouse) and I don't know what the butter was mixed with but it really hit the spot. We can't WAIT to go back! 10/10

Ok Food Really Good Rewards Program

By Getowork |

I go here for lunch and Happy Hour about twice a month. They have ok bar food. Not my favorite but you can always get their burger. Good prices on Happy Hour drinks and discounts on apps. Their rewards program allows you to accumulate credit for future visits. If you pair that with doing a survey after the visit you can get a free app on your next visit. Nice atmosphere and usually good service. Cheers!

54th is 1st in My Book😘

By Lacey Ann |

Walking in the door at 54th Street, you're met by an almost intoxicating atmosphere & vibe. My "Go-To Items" are either the Loaded Baked Potato Platter (wih everything on it, including bacon & broccoli/It comes with either salad or one of their delicious soups), or All You Can Eat Soup, Salad, & Homemade Bread. (I could honestly just get full on the bread (YUM)... LOL). Great prices make 54th Street even better! 100% recommend😘.

Great food

By vickib70 |

The food here is amazing. It was within walking distance from our hotel and was a total gem to discover. The owner even paid for my nephew's meal since he had just graduated from his basic military training.

Lunch with the Kids

By Robert R |

The service was really good, chips and salsa good. The fajita chicken salad was a giant portion, that could easily feed two people. I recomend this restaurant.

Great stop!!!

By Gina G |

Wonderful selections!! So much to choose from! The food was great and service was great. Neat setting and decor. Bathrooms at nice and clean. Larger facility. Large beverage selections...alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Prices are normal and portions are generous. If visiting there at lunch, check out the backside of the menu for specials.

Graduation Gathering/Celebration Dinner

By 563amaliay |

Was attempting to celebrate my niece's graduation with the family at this location and they could/would not accommodate us. Indicated they do not make online reservations greater than 6 guests and that they would not even try to sit us at tables near each other. The manager was very un-cooperative and had no service mentality for this type of business. Our family will never recommend this establishment to any family members, friends, or co-workers.

A fun environment and great food!

By T. F. |

Good place for families and sports fanatics. Casual dining or drinks and dinner. Extensive Craft sandwiches, burgers, and Southwest flare. The French dip is a must try. Fresh baked bread with succulent seasoned prime rib slices, no condiments necessary here!

BMT graduation!

By Dana B |

We enjoyed the food ambiance and staff very much. We went back twice in our 3 day visit to San Antonio.

perfect for dinner & drinks with the girls!

By Deena A |

I visited for dinner and drinks with my girlfriends and we loved it! Delicious food and plenty of alcoholic beverages to choose from.

Very poor service

By Frank T |

Placed on list for restaurant seating and told wait would be about 30 minutes. After 2 hours still no seating available. Had to sit at bar to order food. Food arrived after 30 minutes and no utensils given and they forgot my drink. Food was good but pricey for what was given. This restaurant/bar not recommended.

1st visit

By Joan C |

Only OK. Food (shrimp) had very little taste, the breading was bland. Service was good, food was hot. Portions way too big.

Hearty food!

By Jan B |

All four of us got something different and everyone ate every bite! Little slow on drink refills but definitely will go back!

Wonderful food!

By Renata N |

This restaurant was close to the hotel where I was staying for a work trip, so I have been there several times the past two weeks. For was excellent every time. Typical casual American fare, but delicious. My favorite was the chicken fried steak. Enormous portions. And the green beans are honestly the best I have ever tasted. Another time I had the chicken and shrimp Alfredo. Again, delicious! My friends all enjoyed their meals also. Nachos, sliders, dessert... All delicious! Great portions for a great price.

Wouldn't come here again

By Peggy P |

The service here is pretty bad. We waited a long time after being seated for a server to finally show up and take our drink order. I had a margarita, but it didn't taste like any margarita I'd ever had before. It was a pretty nice size, but wasn't very good. I didn't finish it. I ordered a steak, medium, with a baked potato, butter only. When my plate finally arrived, the steak was well-done and the potato was a loaded baked potato. Neither were hot. It was sent back, but again, took forever to get the correct one. The people I'd come with had almost finished eating by the time I got my meal. The salad here is really good, though. It's also extremely loud in here. Hard to hear the people sitting across from you.

Great wings!

By Drfoodlover2 |

I ordered the wings and my wife got the soup and sandwich combo. The wings had a really nice crunch and just the right amount of heat to them! My wife's soup was hearty, and the sandwich was delicious she said. Would definitely go back if in the area.

Family Fun in Texas

By Smoreno1859 |

Great Sports Bar, family friendly. Open, clean & pleasant wait staff! Boneless buffalo wings & blackened chicken salad were delicious!

So good, we came back

By Rebecca F |

Located in the area of our hotel, an easy walk. Food and service were very good. So good in one week we ate there 3 times

Light at the end of the tunnel

By TimandTheresa C |

Holy smokes, let me set the mood. We had been at our son's BMT graduation all day on base and hadn't eaten but a lick of food due to the long lines at the BX. We found ourselves thinking, lets try to find a spot to eat on the River Walk. The Alamo Bowl was the next night and everyone and their mama was in town for it. This caused all the restaurants to have over 2 hour wait times! Yikes!!! Bellies were growling, and our party of 8 was getting hangry. We needed to act fast. We searched high and low but nothing was open, then we saw the neon glow from the 54th Street Grill and Bar sign. SCORE! We were sat promptly, served drinks just as quickly and orders were being taken the second we were ready. Much to our relief, food was flying out of the kitchen, everything cooked perfectly to boot! Hallelujah! Our server was pretty amazing, offered nothing but the best customer service! Drinks topped off frequently, orders correct, smiled, and laughed at our raunchy jokes! I highly recommend this establishment to anyone visiting SA. It's a win all the way around.

Fresh, Good and Aimed to Please

By Mctravelin4ever |

Sauces, dressing, salsa, gringo dip are fresh made every day. Chicken and shrimp are hand breaded right before it's cooked (love Lutenant Dan's shrimp and fresh cocktail sauce!). It maybe a bit more than Chili's but much better!!!! Managers are almost always checking on customers and are aimed to please. They are great about special orders not on the menu also. Oh and the margaritas are top notch! Sometimes there is a wait at dinner time but it's worth the wait.

Good food and atmosphere relatively close to Lackland AFB.

By Dan W |

Great tasting food and friendly servers makes this a good choice for families visiting Lackland AFB. Menu includes a wide variety of choices of which I particularly liked the country fried steak dinner. If you are looking for a place to eat with a comfortable atmosphere, good food which is reasonably priced this is a good place to visit.

Sad Lunch

By a p |

Well, we decided to sit outside because it was a beautiful day....we waited to be attended to, however, we waited tooooo long. Then finally they arrive, so we gave them our complete order.....still waiting for drinks more than 5 minutes, I decided to approach the servers and that didn't seem to help, nevertheless the meals arrived...I order the french dip. The server spilled all the dip on the fries, we had soggy fries, so I asked, please bring some more fries, I don't know anyone who like soggy fries including me. By that time we had it. So much for good service, as I figured out these were the bartenders being used as servers for those sitting outside and in the bar area. 54th you need more servers in the bar area, Roxanne and Shawnica move too slow and lack grace and good server qualities!

1st visit. Average Food, but will try again

By Miss_Mattax |

The menu looks very appealing. The décor is different; I liked it. I ordered the Fish, Shrimp, and Chips Platter with french fries and their baked beans. I know...weird choice of sides. Anyhow, the fish was less than desirable and the shrimp were the frozen shrimp you'd buy at the grocery (in the frozen section). The baked beans were delicious!!!!!!!! The fries were good too. If you visit here, avoid the meal I ordered; order the A Catfish named Wanda. Their catfish was much better than the tilapia they brought out; assuming it was tilapia. I'm assuming the gentleman that came to our table was the manager, but I didn't catch his name. He was a total sweetheart; he allowed me to swap out the fish. It was my first time visiting them and I'm willing to try them again. I'm not writing them off.

Great vibe, great service

By Michelle S |

We went from 54th street as our hotel was nearby needed a quick bite to eat. This place is great, not only do they have my favorite beer on draft but they have a gigantic menu and all of their food is scratch made. We were very hungry after traveling all day on the road and my food was delicious. I had the French dip prime rib with onion rings. The rings were huge and crispy and giant pieces of fresh onion real onion inside. My husband had the sirloin. Unfortunately his stake was not up to par what we are used to at outback and other large chain restaurants like 54. The manager Dominic was very apologetic and took care of things promptly professionally and quickly. We will definitely be going back to 54 because the menu was so huge, I cannot wait to try more of the delicious looking items. Shout out to our waitress have the bar Vicky. She was very nice and explaining some of Perks of the 54 reward program and encourage me to sign up. She even helped show me on my phone how to do it. Another perk is that the bar area of the restaurant Doesn't appear to be child friendly which for us is important. Also be sure to check out the happy hour specials, we will come back either earlier or later next time many good deals.

Anniversary dinner weekend trip

By BrandyinTexas |

We came here while in town in San Antonio! The food was great! My husband had the ribs and Mac and cheese! I had the chicken Cobb salad. Service was smooth and our waiter was attentive. I also had the Island Martini every refreshing! We liked it so much we came back before heading out to eat dinner again!

Small Portions

By bears60 |

The 54th bar grill on loop 1604 and Culebra serves small portions for lunch. The Gringo dip and chips were good. Service was ok. Probably will not return.

Similar to Chilis but better

By JJosephCrew4 |

So the only reason this place lost a star was because the shrimp skewer my son ordered on the side of his meal was slightly undercooked. Also, my other son's steak was more medium than medium well as he ordered, but he still enjoyed it. Otherwise, everything was great. We ordered a variety of items. The ribs were yummy.

Great

By schatz27_13 |

I was alone and need to get some dinner. Decided to go to 54th Street and I am so glad I did. My meal was great and the boneless chicken bites were absolutely delicious. Ashley was my server and she did a great job and was so attentive. So glad I stopped her for dinner.

Coach trip with a class touring colleges

Go early

By Keith B |

I was in San Antonio to visit my son. He wanted to take me to his favorite restaurant (54th). We arrived at 8 to find a 45 minute wait. Needless to say we ate elsewhere. The next night we went at 5 and were seated immediately. It was worth the wait!

Leaving San Antonio and on ward to Wimberly.

By Shirley T |

On our way out of San Antonio and on to Wimberly, we stopped at 54th street Bar and Grill. Excellent lunch stop! My husband had jambalaya and I had a hamburger that was excellent! I rate this establishment a BIG 5!! The atmosphere and decor was very enjoyable.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE WE HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED

By Traveler10000000000 |

We have been 54th Street Loyalty Club members for numerous years and have a total of 191 visits. For the past 3 months when we have a weekly meal at the Rector location there have been various homeless people at the front entry begging from every customer that enters and exits the restaurant. This is uncomfortable and unsafe for customers because many homeless people have mental issues and drug addictions, which 54th Street should not want their customers exposed to. We have mentioned this to the staff and they sometimes send a manager out to ask the homeless to move on. However, each time we visited, the problem still existed. We reported the problem to 54th Street Corporate and the General Manager, Robert, called us to discuss the issue. We thought he would address the problem and have solutions on how it was being fixed. However, he stated that this was not his problem, but a citywide problem and that we needed to take it up with the City Council and the mayor of San Antonio. He said the only reason the homeless are begging at the establishment is because 54th Street is the only nice restaurant in the area which is very wrong because there are many good restaurants within 1.5 miles of there – Paesanos, Seasons 52, J Alexanders, PF Chang’s, Flemings, Chili’s and more…none of which ever have homeless people at the entryway begging from customers. After stating this to Robert, he told us to not return to his restaurant and he stated at least 4 times for us to never return – he said he was done talking to us and then he hung up on us. He was rude, condescending, argumentative and unprofessional. We have never been talked to so poorly by any restaurant staff member anywhere.

Good Service & great food.

By Patrick T |

Great for couples or families. Short walk from Homewood Suites hotel or other surrounding hotels for folks going to Sea World.

Chicken!

By Suzie W |

Had the fried chicken strips, fries and green beans! Deep South favorite and well worth every calorie! Lots of southern sides to try with entrees. Steak, burgers and lots of chicken!

Good place to catch a game with good food

By Mark C |

The 54th St. Bar and Grill is a nice place to eat some good Tex-Mex and enjoy the patio. They have an open pit shared table outside and their gringo dip is something we really enjoy. It is a warm, white, cheesy dip with nachos and really hits the spot on a cool evening. The service is very friendly and responsive. There has been a good crowd everytime we have been, not too crowded. They are also dog friendly. We will go again.

Best dinner in San Antonio

By HeidiandPatrick H |

Coming from Baton Rouge, we compare all ribs to TJs. 54th street beat TJ Ribs handily! I know - crazy! Didn’t think that was possible! Put our name on the wait list on our way from Jacobs Well and walked right in when we arrived. Hostess was awesome, prices were very reasonable, food was just excellent. We looked it up to see where all their locations were. Can’t wait to get one in Louisiana. Highly recommend!!

Stop looking at the wall decor and eat

By Robert S |

Walk in the door of the 54th Street Bar and Grill and it looks like an Applebee on steroids. Almost every square inch is covered with odds and ends. Posters, artwork, and things like a giant metal sculpture elephant head mounted like a trophy at a hunting lodge. Lobby had an Easy Rider style chopper suspended from ceiling. Greeter desk uses your cell number to send text when table is ready rather than a flashing hockey puck. You get a check in text so you know it works. Menu is wide and diverse – burgers, Mexican, steaks, salads, thick sandwiches, and seafood. I got the shrimp platter. Portions were large and great taste. You will notice a friendly tone to the wait staff. I think this part of training or a talent sought in hiring. Googled and found there are a handful 54th Street Bar and Grill locations. They are all owned by same family. They certainly avoid the franchise blandness.

Great find!

By PlumbingSales |

This restaurant is located within walking distance to Springhill Suites. The bar is lively and a great place to watch Monday Night Football. Great food, drink, and friendly bartenders.

54th Street

By John S |

Great food and exceptional service. Lots of variety on the menu. Blackened chicken was moist and spicy. Queso dip was awesome.

Great Summer Blend Chicken Salad with Blue Cheese and a Balsamic dressing!!!

By steve1019 |

Have enjoyed this salad almost every time I have gotten it except at another location on two occasions that they just took the customer for granted and served us trash, but that was another sorry location not far from here!

Perfect every time

By OldTexan52 |

I've been here several times for lunch with a group of friends from work and we've never been disappointed. The staff is always so helpful on letting us know what the specials are or what is in certain foods. We have ordered salads, Burgers, pasta and always comes out tasting great and hot.

Great Food, Huge Menu, Great Drinks, Huge Menu, Great Service, Fun Atmosphere

By Jamie1310 |

If you love a sports bar, bar food and great drinks, check this place out. It was loud, energizing and a great time. The menu is upscale bar food, has a wide selection and everything was great for everyone at my table. We have chips that were perfectly salted and gringo dip. Everyone had something different for the main course ranging from power bowls, pasta and burgers, all which was perfectly prepared and everyone loved their food. They also have a huge drink menu ranging from any cocktail you think of and a huge beer menu, ranging from the typical to local beers. The service was also on point. Really, really enjoyed it here, just when you think how will one more draft house differ from the many already on the market, this place changed my mind. It was refreshing.

Fantastic Service from Nadine

By YO_LOOK_AT_ME |

Fantastic service from Nadine. Took my family out to eat and ordered our food. Nadine was very responsive, checking on us often. When the food arrived, unbeknownst to us, Nadine noticed my father's burger wasn't cooked as he requested and immediately requested a replacement order. We were a bit surprised when the replacement order arrived as we we were willing to accept the original order but were happy when the corrected order came out. Nadine did a fantastic job and the food was great...definitely recommend this place.

Great food!

By magicmw |

The food was great and atmosphere is awesome. We loved the memorabilia on the walls and ceiling. We're from Tennessee and enjoyed the food 3 times while we were in Texas.

Convenient

By AJICE |

We stayed at the hotel next door and we were very tired so we went over for a bite to eat. The staff was extremely friendly, the drinks were good and the food was nothing special really. If the food was good, it would have been 5 stars.

Very good

By Mike P |

This is a very good restaurant. The service was good and the food was flavorful and the serving sizes are large. My grilled Rueben was loaded with meat.

Average at best

By fencepost |

I was visiting my sister in law and she wanted to try this place out for dinner. She had been here previously for happy hour and enjoyed it. We arrived on a Thursday night about 7:00 pm. The place was packed but we were able to secure one of the remaining booths. Our server was quick and friendly throughout our meal. That was the highlight of the evening. I ordered a hamburger with onion rings. The burger was okay but the batter on the rings was so fried that it caused abrasions on the roof of my mouth. My sister in law ordered fried pickles as an appetizer an the batter was the same. She also ordered nachos for her main course and was not please with them. We both decided that we would not be back to eat.

Big Menu

By Keith H |

Multiple choices of food. Something for everyone. Food was excellent and plentiful. Reasonable rates. Very friendly staff. Definitely a place to try

Nice dinner after a long day flying from San Francisco

By John B |

We've found that this chain elsewhere is very good so thought we would try this one near the airport. We were not disappointed! The food was tasty, prompt, and nice portions. Our waitress Tawnia was very attentive and friendly. Would recommend this place for anyone wanting good food and drink in a sports bar type setting.

Great Sports Bar & Grille

By Doug R |

I have been staying at a hotel near this restaurant for work this week and have eaten here 3 nights in a row. I had grilled fish tacos twice and the turkey burger, both were very good dishes, and the place was always hopping with people. I sat at the bar each night where they have an array of large flat screens, you can usually get any game you want. Staff was very friendly, Nicole was my personal favorite. There is something on the menu for everyone, very festive atmosphere.

Dinner setting

By Antonio V |

Was very impressed with the selection on the menú. The overall friendliness atmosphere and awesome attitude service from every employee there. The prices were very reasonable with the dish portions. Very satisfied.

Great food

By Phil R |

We go here about twice a month and it’s always good and always crowded, but the wait is short. Love everything we have tried here especially the gringo dip.

When there to eat because it was near our hotel and the front desk guy recommended it. Big choice on the menu. Ask the waitress what she recommended and she didn't steer me wrong. My wife and I both enjoyed our food and would eat there again. Little pricey but very good.

Total disappointment

By Karina M |

I heard so much great things about this place but when I finally made it I was disappointed with the food. The margaritas was great but the food lacks flavor.

Great food and drinks!

By MarkohATL |

Whenever you're in San Antonio, this place is great for drinks and food. They also have a great rewards program.

Great Food & Atmosphere

By James B |

Visited 54th street Grill because it was next door to hotel. So very glad we did. Food was excellent. Best Quesadillas I had during the entire trip. Seating outside added to great atmosphere. Highly Recommend!

Ok if you're starving

By Foodie |

We hadn't eaten all day and chose this place for dinner because it was close to our resort. Mediocre food, service was satisfactory. Beer was cold, food was ok to not impressed. Nothing that would make me want to come back. Gyro was super salty, fries were typical frozen, spanish rice was super garlicky. Much better tacos at a cheap mexican restaurant , canned beans. Cheese dip was pretty good, and they did make my drink correctly. Overall .. definitely not a place I would seek out to visit.

Great place

By Marilyn N |

Great vibes, music and service, will go again. The prices and service were awesome. Will be going back.

Great food & Cold Beer !

By Jtorres1 |

I recently visited this place for dinner and I was very impressed with the the food and the cold beer I ordered the grilled Rueben and it was awesome it was packed full of meat and flavorful and the beer was very cold this is a place you should definitely try.

I wanted a good burger

By Coco |

I wanted a good burger, but I received an excellent burger! Omg it was great! And we also ordered the Border Attack and it was some of the best food I've had in a while, those amazing authentic tacos and gringo dip was yummy! I could really use some right now but we don't have this place in Georgia 😩 but great food and great service!! A++++

Great service and food

By Starchunter12 |

Sometimes it's hard to get people to eat if they've been drinking but this food was so good and smell good the restaurant was set up right when you walk in have a ball two thumbs up!

Great food, regular service

By Gapdealba |

The Restaurant is located right next to our hotel. The food is balanced, healthy, varied and well seasoned. The prices are fair. The only thing I can not rate well and it is really important is service. They take too long to serve even the restaurante is almost empty. When placing an order by phone and picking it up, they forget to add dressings for salads and clutery. Just check everything before you arrive to your room.

Good food, great place to watch the game

By mrbrentharris |

My wife and I routinely come here to watch sporting events. The food is good, the service is generally decent and the price is great! The only think I'm not a fan of is the "smoking" area is just outside the bar area, but close enough to smell it...

Good eats

By shedar123 |

They have the best gringo dip (cheese) in San Antonio. It's one of the few places in San Antonio that everything on the menu is good.

Great place to eat!!

By Teri M |

We ate here 3 times during our vacation. The service was awesome, every server we had (3 different ones) were friendly and very attentive. The food is very good and so is the price! Wish we had one in our area!

Highly Recommend!

By Cara S |

We took a chance on this place while on a short vacation in San Antonio and we are so glad we did! Waitress was super friendly, food was amazing, generous portions, quality food and great prices. Loved the atmosphere, so many fun things to look at. We will visit this place if we are ever in this area again!

Late lunch

By lindakerr8 |

Extended stay at Springhill suites; room wasn’t ready so had an excellent lunch prior to checking. Jacky was friendly, professional and fast service. The portions were huge and my chicken strawberry salad was so Felipe’s. Cocktails were excellent and good thing we walked to our hotel. Will be back, highly recommend; military discounts given

Just feels comfortable

By Phil C |

I travel to San Antonio a couple times a year and this is a go to place. Decent enough selection of wine which I like but wide variety of cocktails and beers. Great menu to satisfy all tastes. Great service very friendly and I recommend it.

Great Food & Service On Easter Sunday Night

By gpbvkb |

Decided to go here after a long day in the sun. Right next door to the Spring Hill Suites. Quick service and good choice of food.

Change of tenderlion sandwich

By 1 2345678ace |

54th street is a good place to eat. Good food, good service, and good prices. My number choice for a sandwich was the ñork tenderloin. It was large extending an inch or so beyond edge of bun. It was like those we enjoyed in indiana and most of midwest. To my apppointment the last time i went in the tenderloin was now a bun size huge of pork. Okay but not what I and my wife prefer. Since it was our # 1 choice we most likely not return as often. Changes lose and gain folks. In our case a lost.

Good Food!

By Cappyaldu |

The food here is really good for a franchise restaurant/pub. I love their wing sauce and the gringo dip. Every time I'm in San Antonio, it's a tradition for me to stop and get the Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich and eat my cousin's gringo dip. The adult Strawberry Lemonade was so delicious as well.

Birthday dinner

By 476adrianep |

Food and pricing great and affordable. Kids menu with variety. Was able to accommodate our party of 13. Was unable to make reservations on line now I know to call ahead.

This was a good place to eat after work

By Steve B |

I ate here when I visited the area. The food was good and priced reasonably. The decor was the standard kitschy junk on the walls that you would expect from a chain restaurant. The location was next to the hotel where I stayed so I could not ask for better convenience.

Great Find While Visiting San Antonio

By BeachRayz |

Fantastic restaurant for a casual dinner and drinks! Staff were extremely friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is awesome. The menu is incredibly diverse and includes a huge variety of salads, burgers, specialty sandwiches, pasta, chicken, steak, seafood, and more. Portions are large and our food was prepared very quickly. Prices are very moderate and an excellent value! Highly recommend!

Excellent Food

By al2303 |

This 54th Street location has slow service but excellent food. The Bar area has numerous TV's to be able tp watch different sports and eat at the same time. The bar workers at this location are a little slow at providing service but they are friendly. The food prices are reasonable for the quantity and the quality of the food.

Great Food, Cold Brews, Friendly Staff, Budget Friendly Menu!

By JulesnJerB |

We ate here after a long day of flying and driving in from Houston. We loved the atmosphere right away! There was 4 of us the first time and 6 of us the second. Both times, service and food were good. Burgers are awesome, the baked potato and salad with strawberries and pecans are so fresh and huge portions, my mom and I spilt it both times! Definitely a place to stop in to have a burger and beers and watch some sports if you are in town!

Pretty quick lunch

By BeachbumAggie |

Went with some coworkers, it was a pretty quick turn around which was good, service was friendly. Grilled chicken sand which n fries were fine, salad n baked potato combo looked really good, chicken strip basket looked fine.

Nice cold Beer!

By Angela C |

Right next to our hotel, we walked here on a rainy night. The beer selection is excellent and it's cold! It was Monday night and the crowd quickly filled the place for Football. TVs everywhere. The service was excellent. I had a chicken quesadilla appetizer that was perfectly filling for dinner. Hubby had the ribs/steak dinner and thought it just okay. He said the ribs seemed prepackaged and the steak was not tender. If we had time, we would visited again and tried other menu items.

Great Food and Friendly Waiter

By Danny J |

54th Street Grill was recommended while we were in town for my son's AF graduation. The food was very good and the service was great.

Good food but crowded

By Kenneth S |

This place is very busy but has great food and good cold beer. The wait staff is running their tales off trying to service all the tables but still manage to give good service. Great Chicken Fried Steak!! There is a nice patio in the back for you smokers.

Great BBQ

By SingingGourmet |

Weeknight dinner. Originated from Kansas City, MO. Started with chips and Queso, and one cup of chicken tortilla soup, was good. Delicious nicely smoked BBQ brisket (a bit fatty)with a loaded baked potato, yum! BBQ baby back ribs was the other entree with a loaded baked potato, just as delicious.no room for dessert. Server was super, atmosphere was neat, with various items hanging from the ceiling and on the walls, example race car, a shark,Star Wars dolls, etc.

Good ... but why “paper”

By reknedttog |

We went for lunch and sat in the bar area .. it was so nice.... the doors were open to the patio! Our Server was very nice and right on top of everything! Food as always was good BUT why do they have to ruin good food by putting it on paper and in our opinion ... which understand is not the end all ... ruins everything!!!!!!!!

Dinner with friends

By H1765KYlindaw |

This was my first time eating here. I was here on a business trip and the restaurant was in close proximity to where I was staying. Nice place. It’s a combination of sports bar meets Applebee’s or chili’s. Staff was friendly. Food was good and hot. 👍🏾. The best part. Enjoyed time with friends.

Great food!!

By Shawn T |

Food is great and service is friendly! Lot of variety on the menu. My son and I both had steaks which were excellent. My daughter had ribs which she said were wonderful as well. Fun atmosphere!

Best of San Antonio

By David C |

I wish I lived here because this would be my new best place ever. The food is fantastic. Good luck trying to pick one. They are all great. The prime rib Philly is unbelievable. The building is decorated so that where ever you look there is something new to see. Prices are moderate and the wait staff knows there stuff. Can't say enough good about this place. Try there Queso dip and you will fall in love.

Perfect place for watching the Big Game!

By Jim G |

Stopped in with my wife and son to watch Game 4 of the World Series. Had chips and salsa with queso and drinks while watching on one of their many large screen TVs. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was great with free refills on chips. The best part was, unlike many sports bars, this place is not too loud to have a conversation while watching the game. We loved it!

Dinner and drinks

By justin s |

The 54th Street Grill is a casual sports bar type atmosphere with a excellent staff and versatile menu. The food was excellent the mixed drinks were not. Moderately priced, l would compare to Chills or Applebee's. Close to the hotel and has a nice outside lounge area.

I was surprised with how good the food

By Michael R |

Went there for lunch with a co-worker. We both had variations of their steak sandwiches. He had chicken I had the cajun beef. We had the same opinion that the sandwiches were excellent. We were surprised because it is a chain restaurant and had lower expectations. Needless to say, we plan on returning frequently.

Great spot for appetizers and drinks

By Heather S |

love the atmosphere and the service. prices are good. this was our first time trying and I am happy we did. I will say in my opinion the drinks and the appetizers would be my main draw. For me, the entrees were a little lackluster. Fortunately as I said the exceedingly great service , prices and drink/appetizer combination won me over. So i will be back, just know my favorites here and will probably stick to them.

Amazing

By Kristin B |

This restaurant is fabulous! The staff is very friendly and the food is delicious. Definitely worth going!

Truly Fantastic Meal

By Mood123 |

This was an a fantastic meal! It was also cheap for the area and for what we got which makes it even better. I got a bacon wrapped filet mignon, a half a rack of baby back ribs, a huge baked potato, and a giant bowl of salad all for $16. The food was soo good especially the steak. The seasoning they use for the steaks is out of this world. Such a good dinner!

Buffalo chicken salad with blue cheese

By Theresa1426 |

Excellent service - excellent food the waffle fries on appetizer menu with bacon are awesome! Everything is fresh and eye appealing! Soup is excellent as well.

Tasty Tex-Mex and Burgers

By ICEHatchet |

We stopped here our first night in San Antonio because it was conveniently located beside our Marriott hotel. The Chips and Gringo Dip were great as an appetizer. I ordered the Devil's Den Burger with Jalapeño Bacon and a Bleu Cheese dressing and it was very good. The onion rings were perfect! My wife enjoyed her Mushroom Swiss Burger and my daughter liked her Bacon Cheeseburger. Adrian did a good job as a server. It was a pleasant evening dining on the outdoor patio area!

Worst restaurant ever

By BradleyinSeattle |

I have had many dining experiences and this by far was the worst! With family and friends I was humiliated by the staff accusing me of over drinking when I had not had a drink. This place did not care about the service nor their horrible food I am beyond words for the food and service at this place.

Delicious food and great service!!!

By Carol Satch |

My daughter took me out Friday to enjoy drinks and food. The service was great. Our waiter Scott was very attentive and engaged with serving us. We had a great time and the food was delicious. I bought a to go order for my son getting him what I had steak and shrimp with a loaded potato.

Good food

By BoerneBob |

They have a broad menu. We had steak and a sandwich with soup. Also had chips and queso. Very comfortable with wine and conversation.

Good food, expensive wine

By David190343 |

A big family restaurant offering a wide variety of typical American food. Service was fine though as ever the wine is too expensive.

Pleasant Lunch

By Dennis P |

Good food & great service. Typically enjoy eating here but some days are better than others. Today was a really good day. Mostly due to really great service by our waitress. If anything was wrong, the wine was a little overpriced but isn't that true everywhere?

good food at average prices

By Steve D |

Not expensive but not cheap either. The food was good and the service was OK. The place was slow for some reason but the visit was good overall

Very slow service

By Happy campers! |

Not greeted at entrance. The margaritas were great! The food was good. The service was bad. The kitchen took half an hour for 2 appetizers and at least an hour for our meals. We all ordered simple items such as sandwiches, wings, fries, etc. The server came to check on us only twice in those 2-1/2 hours. It was not a busy night; there were many empty tables. Yet they pre-charged 18% tips because it was a large table. Over-all not worth the money spent there.

Great lunch

By kwhitecotton |

Stoped for lunch and was very pleased with the food and service. I had the prime rib French dip and it was delicious. The prime rib was tender and tasty.

Great Food and Great service

By Mary Beth Kelley |

My husband and I along with some other family members are in town for my sons graduation and decided to eat here for lunch. It is very good. The service was great and the manager came by our table and offered some great hospitality. Great place. We will eat here again and several more times.

One of the best of its type

By Robert H |

Susan and I met our friends Richard and Kathy for a Saturday evening meal, arriving around 6 p.m. We had to wait about 1/2 hour for our table, but that was not all that bad (we had been told 20 to 25 minutes) - I've waited a lot longer for a lot less! Our server Brandon was delightful and attentive, surprisingly so with such a crowded and busy situation. The menu is extensive and all four of us professed our entrées to be fine. The décor is funky-doodle nostalgic, with large model airplanes hanging from the ceiling along with race cars and children's pedal cars, etc., old commercial signs and the like. Altogether, a fun place with good service and excellent food. Yee-hah!

Nice atmosphere and good food

By Matt Y |

Very good food and reasonably priced. Good atmosphere and plenty of choices for food and drinks on the menu. I had the beef dip.

Great grub

By Johnny W |

We were in San an for a graduation at lackland & we needed some good grub but didn’t wanna spend an arm and leg. I got the 54 sandwich & man was this good. Make sure someone at the table gets it so you can try it!!

Good food

By Marissa Z |

Took them a while to clean a table to place us but once we sat down our waiter was great the food was excellent great selection of beers great selection of food to choose from menu

Good Variety, Gluten Friendly Options

By Mark C |

Visited the restaurant with business colleagues. Options included a wide variety of selections including a gluten friendly menu for one of our team. We were all able to find something we liked on the menu. The chicken fajitas were freshly prepared and a solid choice from my perspective. Service was a little slow but likely partially a result of how busy the restaurant was. A solid choice and convenient to the hotel next door where we were staying.

A great experience

By Lil’brother |

This may look like a sports bar, but it’s actually a restaurant with a fun ambiance and a great menu. The prices are pretty reasonable and the service and food are better than reasonable. We liked it so much that we came back two more times. I think you will like it too!

Great meal

By Kathy P |

We were starving after a long day traveling. The 4 Play appetizer was plenty for the 3 of us and very tasty. My husband and MIL said the ribs were great, I had the bacon wrapped filets. Everything cooked to our liking, we rolled out of there stuffed and all with leftovers. Too bad they aren't in Michigan.

Good food, fun atmosphere

By Dano |

I really dug the the way the restaurant was decorated, there are tons of pop culture memorabilia to look at. But the highlight is definitely the food, I’ve been there several times and have yet to be disappointed. You can’t go wrong going here.

Great Food

By Thomas F |

Everything was great, had the catfish and it was very tasty, also the sides are great and the margaritas were fabulous especially during happy hour

Always Great!!!

By Maricela G |

I always enjoy going to 54th Street!!! My favorite thing to eat there is the queso gringo! Fun sports watching atmosphere at the bar.

Consistently solid, creative food and service

By Scuba_Divers |

We visited again on a busy Friday night. The bar was hopping and people spilled out onto the patio enjoying the fire pit. We were seated quickly and water and bread materialized in minutes. My husband chose the Madeira chicken. Slightly sweeter than Marsala but cooked to perfection. The chicken was tender and juicy with minimal breading still crunchy. I opted for grilled fish tacos (again) and they never disappoint. The fish potion was so large I barely tasted the cabbage. Fantastic dinner out.

Very good food

By Bosk_123 |

I go here often and have had nearly everything on the menu. Food is always very, very good. Not sure what was up this particular evening, but the service was horrific. Normally service is good, but this time in particular we waited nearly 20 minutes after sitting down before anyone came over to ask for our drink order. Then another 20 minutes getting a glass of tea. I did see out waiter washing dishes in the bar area while we were waiting. I guess he had other things to do than wait on his tables.

Good food at a convenient location.

By ClareScottsdale |

We ate here because it is close to Homewood suites and our nephew recommended it. We ate in bar area and close to outside lounge area with water feature. I had the greek salad which was large and good. My husband and brother in law had sandwiches with chicken tortilla soup and enjoyed it. Large screens in bar area to watch sports. We would eat here again.

Lots Of Choices

By Mandy Brown |

Great atmosphere, lots of food choices to choose from, and reasonably priced. We ordered the Chicken Alfredo, a Club Sandwich, an Appetizer platter, and drinks.. We were all pleased with the taste and temperature of our meals. The service was great and plenty of TV's to watch sports on. We would recommend and visit again!

Fun n place

By Lynnette C |

Fun place. Good happy hour. Mango margarita was great. Grilled Avocado Chicken was good as well as the Havana Cuban. Great waitress.

Delicious

By 596sheliab |

After an evening of Margarita's on the River Walk, we decided to stop here and eat. What a treat! I had a delicious 6 oz. Mushroom Cheddar burger...OMG!!! The atmosphere was lit late in the evening which was fun! Food was fast, delicious and service was great.

Great food and drinks.

By Bob E |

Great variety of dishes and a great Margaritas from the bar. Super saups, salads, and fried pickles to start. There’s lots of chicken dishes and the hamburgers are a winner. The also have a valuable rewards program.

Awesome food

By O1745VQjasonk |

Great service and food... Food came out at reasonable time and plenty of adult beverages to choose from. Definitely a recommendation to those visiting.

Nice late lunch/early dinner with AF graduate

By bezerk |

Great place for a meal after AF graduation. Comfortable seating. Excellent service, Variety of foods, something for everyone. Everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks. Definately would return again. Prices are on par with similar restaurants.

54th Street Grill and Bar. Great place for drinks, food, and service.

By Susan Ehlers |

This place is great! 3rd time to visit and I was VERY pleased... Again! Service (Sophia) sweet and attentive, food (Gyro, and Calamari) delicious. Nice size servings. Asked to speak to the manager. He (Ceasar) was an absolute pleasure!! This is a "DO NOT miss" place. Great atmosphere as well.

Broad menu; excellent food

By Layne R |

The menu has many options to make it a good place for a group that has disparate tastes. The service was good, the portions are good, and the food was well prepared.

Lots of choices

By Mike H |

Wide variety of food choices and drinks. Having a gluten allergy eliminated a lot of choices on the menu. Then I talk to waitress and found out they have gluten free buns. That added all the burger and sandwiches back on the choices. The steak and ribs were pretty good. The loaded baked potato us very good and tasty. The atmosphere is really cool and localized with local sports teams and other things. You could spend all night looking at stuff on the ceiling and walls. Sports TV in the bar. Nice servers.

54th Street is at the top of our list

By Bob C |

The menu here is diverse and everything is excellent. Place is always packed so expect a wait as they don't take reservations or call aheads. But it's hard to beat the service and food once you're seated. Enjoy!!

Delicious food at a reasonable price.

By danddadventures |

We came here at a recommendation from our hotel. It’s very busy and loud and the decor is extremely busy but it’s a fun atmosphere and the food is very good.

Great bar food, service ok

By Chalkley11 |

The food was great, we ate here twice. The drinks were inexpensive however the service was average at best.

Slcabove average

By sea-mike |

Many good restaurants in San Antonio. This is one of them. Big portions and fair prices. Service is generally good. Lots of staff but still brought dish did not order. Offered to cook what I had ordered but I did not have time to wait so ate what they brought. Ate there several times as next door to hotel.

BMT graduation

By dianncrabtree |

Everything we tried was excellent! Kid approved too! It was the perfect way to end our day!! Would highly recommend!

Diner beware

By Terry B |

I have mixed thoughts on this restaurant. The first time I went, I sat at the bar and had the French Dip with a beer. Service was great and the food was really good. I went back the following night with a friend and it couldn't be more different. I ordered a mixed drink and when it arrived and I tasted it, it wasn't what I ordered. It had to go back and the new drink was correct. We ordered dinner and I had the fried shrimp with fries and coleslaw. Nope, didn't get fries, got Mac and Cheese. Ok, so far, two for two. Went to pay cash for my drink which came to $9.20. Gave the waiter a twenty and two dimes. He didn't know how to figure that out. He mumbled something about take the dimes back, which I did and he headed to the register. He came back with my change and only gave me a ten dollar bill. Shorted me $.80. At this point I just gave up. Yes I could have made a scene and asked for the manager, but I figured 3 out of 3, it just wasn't worth it and my friend wasn't feeling well so we just left. So, if you go there, make sure you check your orders and count your change. I probably will not return as there are too many other restaurants that can get your order right and know how to count your change.

Amazing Service

By Elliott F |

Well let me start off by i was already mad due to to other restaurant service, But the amazing staff and food made up for it and i will be back. we got seated quickly and they got my 5 year olds food out asap even before are salads to feed him at 10:30pm! wish i could rave more!!!!!

Love it!!

By Mon J |

The Server and the food was amazing. Had a really great experience, the wait time was very short for a party of 6 ppl, and although our server made it clear that we might be on a Lil wait time for the food and drinks everything came on time. The drinks and food was so good. Highly recommended this place

Always good

By Phil R |

What can I say? Everything we have tried here is delicious. This is a new San Antonio location, but it still gets crowded after 6. Service was great.

Large Menu Variety

By Gerie K |

Our family visited 54th Street Grill and Bar and were impressed with the large variety of menu items. We ordered a variety of items and everyone enjoyed their meal. The portion sizes are large so plan to share or take some home.

Very good

By Donna B |

Food was delicious and atmosphere was great. The fire pit outside was not working ( that was a bummer) but everything else was good.

Mediocre

By Spike021 |

Visited while in town on business. Went for an early dinner and the place was not crowded. Menu was standard bar and booth fare with nothing that stood out. Service was mediocre, food was mediocre so overall, a mediocre experience.

Great food, good value!

By mandyhowland97 |

54th Street has a nice variety of delicious options on their menu. Its one of our favorite places while visiting San Antonio. The food is excellent and good value with large Texan portion. Thank you!

So good

By HikerChickWI |

This is the one restaurant at which we returned multiple times during our stay in San Antonio. The main reason was that it was in walking distance of our hotel, yes, but if we hadn’t liked it, we wouldn’t have gone back. We really enjoyed every meal here. From the fried pickle or zeppelin pretzel appetizers through the spicy black bean veggie burger, we never had room for dessert on any of our visits. Especially when we had the burger on one of their pretzel buns. But we could never resist starting it all with a frozen margarita. It’s a loud atmosphere and there is always a wait in the evening, but if you don’t mind a seat in the bar, watch a game and have a cocktail while you wait for some super American classics.

Lively place, good atmosphere, good food

By Jonathan M |

I sat at the bar, was served rapidly and the bartender was quite knowledgeable about the menu and what I should try. Had the fish tacos (good call). Massive cups for soft drinks, water, and tea.

Great Place to Eat

By bobal59 |

We enjoy this restaurant because it is near our house. The food is always hot, service is great, and restaurant is always clean. Their Chicken Fried Steak and salads are outstanding and priced just right.

Fun Dinner Stop

By Juan |

In town for a conference and it was close to our rental. The beer selection is excellent and the Astros were playing New York so the place filled for the game. TVs everywhere and the service was excellent. There is something on the menu for everyone, I had the spicy fried chicken sandwich, which was excellent. Food prices are reasonable.

Can't warm up pre-cooked food

By Paradise Lost |

So sad to see this place has gone so downhill. I'm from the Midwest where they started and used to love the food. It has become a glorified Chili's at best. What was worst was my wife's chicken taco came out cold, and the managers response was "now I don't want to condescending, but..." (he should have stopped there) "well it's not raw because the chicken is shredded precooked chicken". Not a good way to sell your restaurant that apparently can't even warm up precooked meals. The server was at least nice and my cheesesteak was OK.

The food was Delicious!

By Dream662620 |

After getting back from a long day of walking we decided to order in. We decided to try 54th St. because they had Express pick-up. We ordered online and went right over. The food came out immediately! I ordered the New Orleans steak with a baked potato and house salad. My husband had the beef brisket with waffle fries. They have a special sauce called "Gringo sauce" and it's sooo good! My steak was cooked perfectly and everything was just absolutely delicious!

A little let down

By Joey M |

I want to this place after reading good reviews. I was mostly let down. Bad: It took forever to get the bartenders attention every time I needed something. Then when my food arrived they did not check to see if it was satisfactory. The beer was not 29 degrees. The food was barely acceptable. The pulled pork was dry and packed flavor and the bun was hard. Good: The fries were good and they had a decent selection of beers.
