Good food

By Tara K |

We were turned away from a place across the street because they were closing for the "holiday" on Saturday, December 30th despite having at least ten tables so we ended up here. We were thankful it was open :) and were seated immediately. It had an interesting vibe and when we asked what kind of beer one of the Monday Night Brewing Beers was our server didnt know what that meant and we had to ask if it was lager, IPA , etc. she checked and then was great and knowledgeable about food and the wait wasnt too long. It was a nice option after being turned away from a place prior to 9 on a saturday

Food not hot

By Laura P |

We went for brunch and the food was not plentiful or hot. There were no coffee cups left and we asked for more, it took 3 servers to finally get one.

Great Ambience, Terrible Service!!

By Lewistracey |

My husband took me to 5 Church for our anniversary and I was extra excited only to be let down upon arrival. First thing, our table was not ready for over 45 minutes even though we had a reservation so we sat at the bar until it was ready. The bar had gnats and fruit flies buzzing around. We later were ushered to our table only to watch table after table around us become irate due to the the wait for their ordered food. I prayed this wouldn't be our plight only to be greeted by the waitress who told us they no longer had anymore of the three things we had our hearts set on. After being disappointed we left only to stop to get food somewhere else due to our experience at 5 church.

Great Brunch!

By ah64fish |

We’ve eaten at the original one in Charlotte and decided to give our ATL one a try for brunch. The meal and service were both awesome. The fried chicken and waffles were on point, and my wife’s crab cakes Benedict were amazing...pretty much all crab and no filler! We’ll go back for sure!

Unbalanced

By R.. |

We’ve been twice now, hoping to find a place for a pre-concert meal. The location is great, right across the street from Symphony Hall. The food has been very good both times. Unfortunately service has been a train wreck both times. Last night, for example, 40 minutes after ordering we still hadn’t seen food even though we made it clear up front that we had concert tickets. When food finally appeared, one member of our party had nothing. The server waited until that moment to reveal they were out of the dish she’d ordered. Wow! Too late to order anything else! How nice! Our other issue with this place is it's just too loud. I don't understand the need for loud music in a place with poor acoustics to start with. We won't be going back.

Finally

By aligoes2018 |

Visiting Atlanta and Finally got to try this place every time we came it would be closed. Went on a Thursday night, wasn’t crowded at all which I like. Ordered a gimlet. Drinks are strong and filled to the brim. Decided to try the grilled octopus was a little skeptical as these things could be chewy. Best thing on the menu hands down! tender as a scallop with an edamame hummus. I also had the scallops which were excellent as well and the Delmonico rib eye with truffle butter. You cant go with a rib eye. The mashed potatoes were heavenly.. our waitress was in training but she attended to very well. This will be one of my go to restaurants when im in town

Good food and service

By julio6925 |

This was a nice place to go. The food was very good and the selection was different. The drinks and the service were also very good. I would go back.

Good,But Not Great

By Dealmaker |

We were disappointed with our meal in that the starter portions were extremely small, fair size on the main course and small portions on desert. The strip steak one of our guests ordered as medium rare came out raw.

My new favorite spot on Peachtree

By Sammie Muse |

Came in last night for some drinks and I ended up coming on Wine Wednesdays. It was the best time ever, I drive pass all the time and happy I stopped in

Friendly service, tasty food

By Amiaheartley |

The food was tasty and we were served by a friendly and hospitable waiter. The cocktails were also delicious (I had a blood orange one). I would definitely recommend the mussels! A tad on the pricy side but nice ambience overall.

Foul

By Liza B |

am absolutely disgusted with how managers talk to and treat patrons here. My friends and I walked in for a quick drink at the rooftop. One friend is a photographer and had her camera on her shoulder. We were helped by a lovely hostess but on the way out we were harassed by someone who introduced themself as a manager - Gabriella Green. We were polite and patient as she explained that she needed to check that we had emailed to pre-arrange any event/promotional activities. We explained thats not why we were there. She proceeded to lecture us about the “proprietary art installations” and threaten us with legal action. She was extremely rude, patronizing, and unprofessional in addressing her concerns and persisted even when we clarified the situation. I have no issue respecting a company’s protocols, but I have an issue with being threatened. This is unacceptable. There are no posted signs that patrons can’t take pictures and if 5Church wants to be a museum then it should act like one. I work with several influencers in Atlanta that are looking to highlight restaurants with great food and atmosphere and I am letting everybody know - 5Church Midtown ain’t it!

Best restaurant in Atlanta

By elizabeth c |

Had a wonderful time celebrating my friends birthday. Staff was super friendly and the chicken and waffles were to die for. You definitely can’t leave without trying the holy water!

High Expectations, But Disappointed

By RaJoM |

We went with high expectations, which were unfulfilled. The tables are the smallest I've seen - in fact, I've seen bar stools that are larger! Our dining was before an evening event and so the restaurant was less than half-full, however it took ages for our food to arrive - we asked the wait staff three times. We ordered a mixture of appetizers and asked for them to not all arrive together, which of course they did. A lot of dishes are served on wooden boards - for which there is not enough space on the tiny tables, especially when lots of dishes arrive all at once. Without asking, the wait staff rotated our tables - which only made things worse. We ended up spending about $75 per person, WITHOUT any entrees or desserts and just one drink each - not good value, in our opinion.

Ehhh

By Jim T |

Went there for dinner and were underwhelmed. We started with mussels and somehow my side of the plate was warm while my wife side was cold; indicating maybe there was a microwave involved. The main courses were ok, but nothing special. I would probably opt for other options in the area.

A surprise delight at Colony Square!

By Carissa R |

In town on business and a group of 5 colleagues were fortunate to eat here. We ordered a variety of apps, mains and deserts and shared them. The brussel sprouts were EXCELLENT. I also really enjoyed the hummus, sushi tots, roast octopus and much more. Can’t recommend this place enough!

An overall great experience

By Chantel S |

I loved the feel of the place when walking into the doors. We had a booth seat which was perfect because it gave us more room. Everything from the drinks to the appetizers to the meal was excellent! I had the salmon & rice plus Brussel sprouts and my husband had the 1/2 baked chicken. The plates were a great size and we left very satisfied. I loved the writing on the ceiling and the decor! The ambiance set the tone and our waiter William kept it going! William was very knowledgeable of the menu, friendly and checked on us often to make sure everything was okay. What I did like that had nothing to do with my table or order was watching the manager help her staff and be present on the floor throughout the time we were there. To me good leadership sets the tone of how the employees will engage with guest.

Wonderful menu and great atmosphere

By dc101ga |

Had an early dinner last Saturday prior to a concert at Symphony Hall. Restaurant is sleek, swanky but very comfortable and inviting. Wait staff are uniformly friendly, professional and helpful. They checked on our meal when we needed them but were never intrusive. We began with drinks and absolutely delicious romaine wedge salads with a perfect combination of dressing and ingredients. The prime bistro steak was so tender and flavorful and the hand-cut fries made a delicious addition. Two other members of our party selected the chicken roulade and raved over the presentation and flavor. While this restaurant is so convenient to the High Museum and Symphony complex, it should not be regarded as simply a restaurant to visit during a visit to the complex but should be considered a priority restaurant in midtown Atlanta.

Buisness dinner perfected

By AK |

Food was excellent, visited atlanta for Buisness conference, our hotel concierge strongly suggested 5church, we absolutely loved it, staff are friendly and the ambiance is just breathtaking. If you happen to be in Atlanta, 5church is a must visit.

Worst business dinner

By hgrateron |

The food was ok, not specially awesome, but the service was really bad, even though the place was empty. The worse part is paying, they have an app that is very complicated and they do not offer any help or manually paying.

Thanksgiving Dinner

By Roxane A |

The food was good, but some of the food items should have been left off the menu. Tables were to close & it was a bit claustrophobic. While I was eating people were walking by bumping our chairs, which they didn't mean to but everything was tight. Meal was $65 per person & it didn't include the drink. I probably won't eat there again, I will just book in advance to eat at the hotel I was staying at The Georgian Terrance. Couldn't eat there this time, because they had no more slots available & Thanksgiving Buffet was only $52.00.

Stay away... do not waste your time and money!

By Vianney |

TOTALLY OVERPRICED, NOT WORTHY AND OVERRATED... Stay Away from this place. We were there to Celebrate my StepDaughter's BD, and it was one of the worst dining experience that I had in my life. The place very nice, but that's it. The food, totally tasteless, no good flavor at all (Ahi Tuna & Mussels Apperizers taste nothing, the Flat Irom was a joke, taste like burn meat and it was raw inside, Salmon was rubber). The service awful, and unfortunately the Gratuity was included (18%) maybe that's why the servers did the bare minimum. With so many options in ATL, definitely avoid this place, or enter at your own risk.

Another Very Average Midtown Atlanta Restaurant

By Jan_from_Atlanta |

We've lived in Midtown over 10 years and have dined in pretty much every place in the area... current and former. 5Church is yet one more in a very long line of average places to eat. The lamb burger was o.k., the mussels were terrible (very tiny, overcooked, difficult to get out of the shells). No tap beer.

Not A Good Choice

By soupfamily |

Our food was almost inedible. The drinks were fine but beer only in cans. Not a good choice for weekend trip. There are much better places to spend your money.

Would not go back.

By Katie P |

Where to begin? First was the service. For a higher end restaurant everyone seemed incredibly inexperienced, to the point that our server took so long to open our bottle of wine, we almost offered to help her. Not to mention she did not allow anyone to taste it, just went straight to pouring. Even when the manager came to check on us, it seemed like her first night on the job. The food was a mixed bag. I really enjoyed the sushi tots but the charcuterie had what seemed like grocery store bologna. The filet was a great size and perfectly cooked but was drenched in a garlic bordelaise to the point you couldn’t taste the meat. My friend got the scallops and liked them but it was a serving of 2.5 scallops. Seriously, they cut one in half and served it. The only reason I’m giving it 2 instead of 1 is because I liked the drinks.

The manager was a jerk

By Sylvia C |

Not much else to say. Large party, waiting on one person and the mgr on duty would not seat us. "we have over 600 people that will come thru tonight - I can't hold a table open like that" was the response. "Can we be seated at a table that will accommodate an added person when he gets here?" "No, he will have to dine alone." WTAF. Went outside to contemplate our options. Our colleague was on a client call so we did not know how long he would be. Were out there for maybe 3 mins and the hostess literally waved us back in and told us she would seat us. I honestly don't care how the food is. I will never come back here. That guy was on a power trip and loving every minute of it. And then to make matters worse, there were no less than 6 empty tables that seated 5-6 ppl the entire time we were there. On the plus side, the hostess and our waiter were very apologetic. Apparently we are not the only ones that think and have told them that guy is a jerk. Every time I saw him walk by I was annoyed.

Reuben fail

By Marilyn P |

We went here because of the rooftop dining. But they said that option was not available until 5:30 pm. Good service.Menu was pricey. Chicken and waffles were recommended by our server as as well as the steak and our group enjoyed them. But the Reuben sandwich meat was sliced with the grain instead of across the grain. Anyone who has cooked corned beef and cabbage for St Patrick’s Day knows how to slice the meat! The sandwich was tough and difficult to bite into. Kitchen staff needs to learn how to slice corned beef.

Disappointing visit

By Lester D |

I went back to this restaurant (Sunday evening, 6/1) because my last experience was excellent. However, on this occasion, I was highly disappointed. I ordered a prime ribeye steak at the price of $62.00. However, when I received the steak, it was tough and extremely charred on the bottom of the steak. All I could taste was burnt meat. I inquired about the steak because the last time I came, I complemented the manager on the tenderness of the steak and the quality. However, the manager admitted that the company no longer got their steaks from the Chicago steak house, where it was aged, but got their steaks from Cisco, which is a local producer, and they don't age the steaks. That made the difference. They also no longer carried the creme belee with the fruit on top that was also very popular. It pains me that 5 church has decided to move away from what made it a great restaurant in the first place. Moving to a local producer of steaks and away from the aged steaks in order to save money was a big mistake in my opinion. My wife and I was also surprised to see the restaurant so vacant at that time of day compared to the last time we went. Not only did they decide to change where and how they did their steaks, they also went up on the price from $48 to $62! The manager on duty and the waiter were excellent and comped the steak as I could not eat it and brought me a lamb burger instead. Top notch manager. He said that the grill needed cleaning as it affected the taste of the meat and he even admitted that was close to burnt. I ordered medium well. They also comped my dessert as well and I really appreciate what they did. However, I came there specifically for that good quality steak and was disappointed. I hope that 5 church gets their act together because as for now, we will not be coming back there anymore.

Excellent restaurant

By Masha K |

I usually don't write reviews but this restaurant is too great not to spread the word. The food is amazing as is the ambiance. The waiter we had was friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend checking this place out.

Dinner with co-workers several

By Dawn K |

Dinner with co-workers several times, as we were in town for business. The food was great! Manger set up a large TV so we were able to watch the Super Bowl!

Sunday Brunch

By Sean B |

Fantastic brunch spot. Have been here several times for brunch and have tried something different each time and haven’t been disappointed. Sit at the bar and Matt and Savannah will definitely take care of you!

Ok

By ChelseaMATraveler |

Nice atmosphere. Good beer on tap. But the food was so-so; not bad but nothing special. If you’re in the area, not a bad choice but we ate ,ugh better elsewhere in Atlanta.

Amazing restaurant and bar!

By courtlyn c |

I ended up going there twice. Once for dinner and another night just for drinks. The dinner was fabulous, as were their specialty cocktails--you have to try their tequila cocktail. The service was excellent as well. Highly recommend it!

Pre-symphony fine dining

By Road_Warrior32034 |

Our traveling trio wanted to enjoy a nice dinner before going to the Atlanta symphony and we decided to try 5church which was nearby. My daughter’s job requires her to recommend restaurants in that area to the hotel guests and she wanted a first hand experience. From the moment we came through the revolving doors and came down the handful of stairs, we noticed the high end decor. There were several types of exotic lights including feather-like lights over what looked like a long solid marble bar. There are a couple of TVs over the bar for keeping track of games in progress while you eat. On the opposite side of the room were padded bench/chair tables and the center had regular tables and chairs. The most curious feature of the decor was the ceiling. It is hand-painted with the full text of “The Art of War” by Sun Tzu. Our request for a quiet table was accommodated and we enjoyed music at a comfortable level that made for easy conversation. We decided to share the 32 oz “Porterhouse for two” between the three of us with sides of sautéed spinach and hand-cut french fries. The food was delivered in a timely fashion and we soon dove in. At the first glance, we knew the steak was going to be plenty for the three of us and from the first taste, we knew we wanted another serving of sautéed spinach. We ended our rare culinary expedition into the world of fine dining by sharing their Vanilla Bevarain. While we were waiting for our dessert, I made the mistake of taking a bathroom break to their beautiful bathroom and my ladies had devoured all but a taste of the dessert by the time I returned. I was left with little more than their glowing testimony about how delicious it had been.

Fantastic Dining

By Clay G |

I was staying at hotel around the corner and came here for dinner with my brother. We were able to be seated right away. I started off with the octopus which was fantastic. There were two tentacles so we were able to share. For my main, I got the orecchiette bolognese. It was very rich and the sauce had a nice sweetness to it. There was plenty of pasta and I was pretty full after eating it. That being said, when tiramisu is on the menu, I order tiramisu. 5Church’s tiramisu was delicious and I loved every bite. I would highly recommend everyone stop here for dinner when in Midtown.

Stay away

By Jason |

We decided to have dinner on June 6 evening to celebrate a friends birthday ( party of 5). Our server who initially seemed very nice over the course of the evening decided to completely ignore the table. We asked for drinks which arrived over 20 minutes late and after our appetizers. Dinner quality was very subpar. No one felt it was necessary to bring us the dessert menu. Along with our table a few other tables next to us also complained about air conditioning, the room was warm and most people found this uncomfortable. We were told that it was because the AC unit was too outdated ! Our check had a 20 % automatic gratuity added to it ( because we were a party of 5) which normally wouldn't be a problem but we felt overall it wasn't warranted given everyone at the table was dissatisfied. We did not ask to speak to manager or anyone else because we did not want to ruin our friends bday.

Embarrassing

By seedospend |

Visited here with a colleague and was so embarrassed to have chosen it. When we expressed dissatisfaction with our food, manager blamed our server. One entree went back twice before returning in an edible state. Two stars vs one because some food we had was good but the attitude of manager made this a place we won’t visit again.

Unusual

By pamperedPennsylvania |

Friendly staff, the food I could find was good. It was just flatbread. This restaurant has different type of food. A little too gourmet for my liking. Most of the items are things I have never heard of or cared to try. But if you are adventurous and have an educated pallet you may enjoy it. The music is too loud to have a conversation and it was difficult to hear the waitress. This is probably a great place for the younger set! Enjoy.

Good food and service

By jacksonb33 |

I was in town for business and met some colleagues here for dinner. The service was top notch and took good care of us. The menu had tempting dishes and the choice was not easy. I ended up ordering the shrimp and grits. It was delicious.

A little bit of heaven...and a good read..

By tinalee725 |

Wonderful wait staff, wonderful food, great atmosphere. My first time in Atlanta & was so impressed with the presentation and menu choices. If I could have eaten a little of everyone else's meal I would have. It was that good. Wine selection was quite amazing as well. Met one of the Managing Partners, Ayman Kamel, through the host of our trip and was delighted with his enthusiasm and attention to detail. I foresee a long prosperous life for this establishment & hope I get to visit it again if & when I get to return to Atlanta

Sunday Brunch

By Jermaine B |

Great atmosphere. We sat outside during Sunday brunch. They have a upstairs, outside patio for drinks only as well. The food was pretty good and staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Would recommend for a Sunday Brunch spot.

Eclectic restaurant

By Jennifer P |

Very interesting décor with a more interesting story behind it. Make sure you ask your server about it. Our server was fantastic and on point with her recommendations. We both had the filet and shared a bottle of wine then went to the bar on top of the restaurant. Wonderful! Highly recommend.

Great food, drinks, and service

By 1travel777 |

Was with a group of 11 for a Bachelorette Party and was impressed with the food, drinks and service. Tried multiple appetizers and they all were excellent. Had the Viper and Blackberry Mojito, creative and refreshing drinks. Waitress was always available and handled a large crowd with no complaints Take time to look around the restaurant at the art work. Also, the rooftop bar is awesome.

Perfectly cooked

By Valerie O |

God! I really do love a well cooked meal. That is precisely what I got when I ordered the filet medium rare with a side of ginger marinated bok choy. The steak had a perfect pink center and every bite was flavored with just the right amount of salt, pepper, ugh-'mazing. Oscar was my server, he was running the bar and he kept all parties steady with beverages and food. Great service and great food?!? Highly recommend.

Very good food

By Jeff H |

Was there with a business group on Friday night before Super Bowl Sunday. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The service was attentive and friendly... but a bit slow with the crowd. Again, food was all good and drinks were good. Only offered one desert - bad form! I would go again.

Pre Concert Meal

By STEVE P |

We actually chose the restaurant because we were going to the Yo Yo Ma concert, which is just a short walk. We had not been to 5Church before that evening. We were pleasantly surprised with the menu and the service was perfect. We ate a great meal and had ample time to get to the theater for an amazing concert. Very comfortable for anything from a coat and tie to jeans. Having not been there before, it has now become our go to restaurant when downtown. Cheers

Good Eats in Midtown

By Foodie Sunny ☀️ |

Lively restaurant in Midtown close to hotels and other attractions. The fried goat cheese was very good. The tuna tartare was tasty as well. Overall the atmosphere was lively and within walking distance to my hotel.

Mother's day brunch

By Brandon C |

Best mother's day brunch I ever had. Great buffet selection . Highly recommend. Service was A1. Great vibes and wonderful staff

Had a Fun Evening.

By NancyCarolLifton1995 |

The two of us stopped in on a recent Saturday night. The front desk had super friendly staff and showed us to a table right away. All staff had differing Halloween costumes on that night. Our server was very friendly, but I will say that the food took a long time to come out. I started with the beet salad and my wife had the ahi tuna poke. I didn't think that either needed that much time to be arranged but they were. Then, as the took away our appetizer plates, they simultaneously put down our entrees. I thought it was a bit weird. However, that is my only gripe. The space is very pretty, dim enough lights, outdoor space, and a spacious restroom.

Slow Service, Okay Food

By BostonJoka |

We had a party of three for dinner. I had beef carpaccio for an app and rabbit pot pie for my main course, the carpaccio was very good but the rabbit pie crust was doughy and not very appetizing. My companions had a salad and a salmon entrée that was bit overdone. We walked to the restaurant as one of our party lives in the condos adjacent to the restaurant. The venue was not busy as it was the beginning of Thanksgiving week. The biggest problem was that our server disappeared after bringing our entrees. It simply did not feel like dining at a first class restaurant.

Very decent and upscale food

By Vtm R |

We went to 5Church for a dinner with friends. Had a whole menu. Food and service were great. I would recommend trying the appetizer. The mushroom flatbread is great! Great steaks and wide wine selection. Not to pricey.

Birthday Dinner

By DrAlias |

We ate here for his birthday and loved the atmosphere, food, drinks and exceptional staff. We ordered the BBQ Shrimp for our appetizer and blackened salmon for our meal. We ordered a couple of drinks as well. The food was delicious! They also have a rooftop, but it was closed due to the weather. We parked in the deck and they validated our ticket. We will definitely be returning.

This place is over the top.

By Chip P |

This place is over the top. Great good and great service. A locally owned place makes it an even better destination. You will not be disappointed. Primes steaks and great seafood!

Great place for an event!

By nicolee529 |

My friend and I had a birthday party on the rooftop over Memorial Day weekend and we were extremely impressed by the space, the service, and the food! Neither of us had been to 5Church and we were pleasantly surprised at how nice and spacious the rooftop is! There were couches, games, string lights, etc. Lena helped me prior to the event and she was very helpful and easy to work with. The service was wonderful too, there is a bar up there but we also had our own 2 servers and Joshua was amazing. I would highly recommend this space for an event and will definitely be back!

Everything was great!

By Florin H |

Excellent food! I thought I will taste the same stylish (regular) good food, but here I found some new flavors! All the dishes were amazing! Try the wines! They have a great variety! I was surprised about a Californian Sauvignon which just got in my no. 5 preferences! The restaurant has a good atmosphere and music! The personnel was AMAZING! Smiling all the time, polite, welcoming and the list can go on! Congratulations!

Amazing Staff and Food

By abby7827 |

I came here for a work dinner on an early Friday evening. The staff and management were extremely friendly, attentive, and accommodating. The food and drinks were also amazing. There was a huge selection. Def recommend the mac n cheese 😛

Great food and an unusual menu

By McKenna N |

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was fun. We had reservations, but didn't need them at 7:00 on a rainy Saturday. When we sat down we received complimentary hummus. The lamb burger and salmon were great. I would suggest looking over the menu before you go, as the menu is pretty unusual, but everything was delicious.

No Service, Do not waste your time!

By ljrapp16 |

I love trying new places and I get to pick the office lunch spot and I was so excited to choose this restaurant. We arrived to an empty restaurant with no staff and someone who tried to chase us out until we told him we had a reservation and wanted to just wait until they finished opening. Finally someone came to us and just told us to go sit wherever we wanted. We did and we thought that was going to be the start of the great service, since we were the only people in the place and she was the only server, but we were wrong. Two hours later we finished our ok meal. Our waitress was just non-existent. She would take our drink order and then take 30 mins to get our drinks. Then they were out of one of the appetizers, when we were the first and only table. The desserts, although large, were hard and dry. With all that went wrong a manager never came over to check on us. This place will not be in business long if they continue like this. I do not recommend going here.

Delicious food, fantastic service

By Stacy M |

We had dinner at 5church on Friday evening, even though the restaurant was busy our server refilled every glass before it was empty and ensured our food arrived promptly. The margarita flat bread and octopus appetizers were phenomenal. We ordered a variety of different entrees ranging from steak and fish to the lamb burger, each cooked perfectly. The chef puts a delicious spin on classic dishes. The cocktails are handcrafted and simply delicious. The atmosphere of this place was amazing. We will absolutely be back every time we are in Atlanta!

Good Addition for Midtown Atlanta

By queenofsqueeze |

We had a birthday dinner for a friend and chose 5Church. The servers were attentive and prompt, and the cocktails were all well made. The restaurant is a little more casual inside than the website led me to believe, which was fine for this occasion. It’s a little dark inside though; the older members of our group had a hard time reading the menu. With the size of our group we pretty much ordered most everything on the menu, and everyone seemed to enjoy their dinner. I had the shrimp and grits which at $25 was one of the less expensive dinners. It was served in a bowl and while it was well-made and plenty for me, it looked small since it was served in a deep oval bowl. If they had just added a plate underneath or somehow dressed it up a bit it would have seemed like a better value for an upscale place such as this. I was happy it was not too spicy, but had a little heat. I would go back for sure, especially to check out the upstairs bar for a cocktail. The valet parking is a huge plus.

A Solid Pre ASO Dinner Option

By Kurlman |

We had tickets to hear Joshua Bell perform at the ASO and decided to snag dinner right before. 5Church turned out to be great for this purpose. Our server was attentive and well-informed. The heirloom tomato appetizer was tasty as was the shrimp and grits. The atmosphere is casual, a bit on the noisy side, but we could still carry on a conversation. The chalkboard graffiti makes for interesting dinner discussion. Overall it was a solid choice with a diverse crowd and menu selections to match. As a bonus, the symphony hall is a short 5 minute walk from the restaurant.

They Do Brunch Right

By nrstycz |

It has been a while since I have been to a weekend brunch that is just an overpriced all you can eat buffet of typical breakfast foods. There is nothing typical about the 5Church in Atlanta Brunch. Items that typify the creativity that I food so inviting were the wild mushroom with goat cheese omelet and the crab cake Benedict. Of course their toast tasted homemade and whole grain. They do their namesake in Charlotte proud. I can't wait to try them for dinner the next time that I' in Atlanta.

Food was only ok, service not great

By CaptTrouble |

We went here for dinner at just before 8 pm on a Thursday night. Except for bar patrons, a table of 2 drinkers, and a table of about 6 people, we were the only ones in the restaurant. We waited several minutes for anyone to approach our table. As a matter of fact, we finally had to flag someone down after several minutes of just sitting. Then our server took our drink order and we didn't see her for several minutes after that. We were more than ready to order food by the time she got back. Service was the same all evening: poor. Lackluster. Just didn't care. We had a couple of small plates, sensing that this might not be great. We had the Charred Octopus ($13), Mushroom Flatbread ($13), a glass of Viper ($12), a glass of Storypoint ($8), and a glass of Nitro Milk Stout ($7). The Nitro Milk Stout was the winner. The octopus really wasn't charred and was quite soggy and salty. The flatbread was flavorless except for the salt. The food was served room temperature at best. Not going back and we live right around the corner. Literally.

Great Atmosphere, Bad food experience

By Delphine J |

Had dinner at 5church Atlanta last night. Good Vibe/Atmosphere. Excited to try their steaks. 4 of us had dinner, 3 ordered Steaks which came already plated with sides. I was really excited to try the mashed parsnips and took a big mouthful - it was cold! Steak was perfect but the sides were cold. Asked our waiter to warm the sides. He returned with different plates, difference steaks - smaller and more well done, Sides were still cold!!! (They must plate the sides in the kitchen and then place a hot steak on the top!) At this point they suggested they brought us out sides for the table but brought out mashed potatoes (instead of mashed parsnips) and Asparagus - piping hot - Yummy - NOT! OMG the Asparagus tasted smoky and fishy - it was so gross and tasted so nasty that I almost threw up at the table. My friend who is always so positive said yes but the steaks were delicious!!! They asked if we wanted dessert - I just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. The manager did apologize and they did take 30% off the meal. We will not return or recommend.

Great food; near The High

By Kay M |

We were in town for the day and wanted to try something close to the museum. We made reservations the day before we went, and when we got there 45 minutes early, they were so nice about letting us go ahead and eat so we could get on the road earlier. We ate early enough that it wasn’t too full. It has a great vibe and a very friendly and professional staff. The menu is diverse, and we tried several things to share. I was a little disappointed in my mussels. I really prefer a wine broth, and this was a cream base, and the bread to soak up the broth had something smeared on it that I couldn’t recognize. The fries, avocado and tomato salad and flatbread pizza were all fab. Prices are definitely reasonable. Good wine list. Great service.

Dinner with a friend at bar

By Scott M |

We had a reservation for 6:30 PM on a Saturday night. When we arrived, it was clear from the language and expression of the hostesses that they were overbooked. We went to the bar and had some wine while waiting on our table. Within a few minutes, the manager (Cesar) came to us very politely and asked if we would be willing to sit at the bar and if we were, he would make some unspecified adjustments to our final bill. We agreed and had an enjoyable dinner. We started with one of the flatbreads which was very good. Our entrees were stuffed lobster tails and prime rib. I feel like both fell into the category of very good, but not great. We finished the night with a giant piece of chocolate cake, which was also very good but not quite great. Cesar was true to his word and took care of more of our bill than we expected, which was very gracious of him. I will definitely add this to my rotation of restaurants. I might try it on a weeknight and see if it is a little less noisy. Overall I think you can tell that our experience as good but not quite great.

Won't be back

By Peteb37 |

This is my first really negative review. We were there for 3 hours. Brought the wrong food to our table. My eggs Benedict were missing the eggs. I didnt even ask the server to find the eggs. He did as good a job as he could. He tried. It felt like this was the first day they were open. The food we did get was pretty good. Expensive but good. The only reason I gave it 2 instead of 1 was because they had Tropicalia on tap.

Rehearsal Dinner

By baseballmom03 |

We had my son's rehearsal dinner here with 66 guests on a Friday night. We had the upstairs space along with the rooftop patio. A very modern eclectic restaurant that appealed to all ages. Very different and cool. Weather couldn't have been better so the rooftop patio for our cocktail hour was the best. We had a few hiccups as we neared the rehearsal dinner date, but the owner became involved and he was very gracious and accommodating so everything turned out great! The decor, lighting, music, table layout/setup, and food were PERFECT! Lena, the event coordinator, and JJ, the manager, made themselves available for the majority of the night and the staff (bartenders, wait staff, servers) were awesome. Everyone loved the food: 3 appetizers (wild mushroom & carmelized onion flatbread was great), romaine wedge salad, and the guests choice of entree and dessert. Entrees options included filet (wonderful!), ahi tuna (delish!), chicken roulade, and sun-dried tomato pasta...satisfied all preferences. With 66 people, we were concerned about the timing of the different courses being served, but each course was brought to the tables on time as we asked. Open bar and the drinks were made just right. A memorable night for the bride & groom! One suggestion for 5Church: put more pictures of events on their website. When we began planning this dinner, we couldn't find any examples of table layouts/setups, room decor, etc. of past events. They did allow us to view the upstairs space several hours before a rehearsal dinner that was scheduled several weeks before our event.

the interior is interesting with the Art of War written all over the ceiling. The service was not good but the food was very good.

Un impressive

By Sparky8188 |

We weren't impressed with 5 Church - stopped in here while staying in midtown at a hotel down the street. The menu seemed to have something missing not sure what but I wanted more selections / options. When I saw a large company party receive some bowls of something w bread in it I asked what it was and our waiter said it's white bean hummus and lavish and that he would he'd us some. Okay I don't like not receiving things that are complimentary! Why was it not offered to us? It was very good and guests should not have to ask for it - it should be offered if it is indeed part of their service! We ordered the peach flatbread and the Brussels sprouts and both were very tasty. The Brussels might have been a little too charred for some but I like them that way. The wait staff was very attentive and our waiter was training someone but he didn't say that he was and I think it would have been nice to just tell us what's going on as a courtesy.

Disappointed

By tunasf |

Really eclectic setting with well Placed tables for easy table conversation and great location in Midtown at Colony Square. Shared the wild mushroom flatbread and it was a generous portion and tasty while warm. There was also a nice touch of complimentary crackers and hummus to start. Mains were short ribs and papparadelle and half chicken. Short ribs were served in a way too small bowl with way too many Brussels sprouts and no way to tell how much of the bite of short rib is meat and how much is fat. Very awkward. Chicken was just ok served with rice and green beans that looked like they had been thrown on the plate. The app played languished on the table until we were almost finished with our meal. Service was very spotty...server was trying really hard but it felt like he was stressed. Kind of disappointed with the overall experience. No second chances here...too many Midtown eateries that please from start to finish.

Birthday

By Bernard H |

We ate at this restaurant for a birthday and did not have the best experience. We arrived for an 8 pm reservation but did not get seated until about 845. It was packed for a Friday night and the food service was slow. The drinks came fast but the food took a while. It was Labor Day weekend and Friday night in Midtown Atlanta so it was slammed. I enjoyed my Lobster Roll and fries. It was the nightly special so I don't think it's common. Fiancé had the lamb burger and it was pretty decent. Bill came with automatic gratuity since our party was 6 so expect that. Overall, it was a nice restaurant with great decor but the menu is very limited.

Great service

Went to 5 church with my family, service was impeccable, our server femi was very professional, food came out right on time. The culture of the restaurant is a reflection of their staff

Loud and slow

By tgdadof7 |

Servers were friendly but service was really bad. It was over an hour from seating to food arriving for a Sunday brunch at 2 p.m. The music was so loud I couldn’t hear the people on the opposite side of the table unless they yelled. To top it off, my fried chicken biscuit was dry and virtually tasteless. All in all, not a great experience.

Octopus, Lamb, Steak - Wow!

By AshtonB-1117 |

Beautiful restaurant, ambiance lovely, and large bar. It was very clean and comfortable. Some areas are under renovation as it is a new restaurant. My husband and I loved the food! We had the Octopus appetizer and it was amazing. Not everyone can cook good Octopus; 5church nailed it. We had lamb shank and hanger steak for dinner. Very filling entrees. Super tasty and the presentation was good. Cocktails were okay. Our server Guillermo was nice, personable, and described the meals well. He seemed new to serving for a lot of different reasons. One in particular, he stood behind my husband the entire time so my husband couldn't see him which made it awkward to communicate. We sat in the two top table on the left from the stairs, so his back was to the bar. He should definitely stand in between the tables so we are both included. The hostess was awesome! Super pleasant, helpful, and friendly as we came in and as we left. We didn't catch her name but she was an African American lady with a fro. My only complaint for the restaurant is that they had dirty cardstock menus that some other lady brought to us. Excellent food.. we will definitely eat there again. Parking is validated of parking in Colony Square deck below.

Outstanding food and service

I ate here while attending a business meeting at a nearby hotel. The shrimp and octopus appetizers were delicious. Service was excellent. I’d definitely return if in the area!

Poor Service Spoils Great Food and Atmosphere

By Rick Volkmann |

We planned a Saturday family dinner at 5Church as an early Mothers' Day celebration for my wife. The decor was cool and interesting, and the food was very good. The service seemed friendly, but, mistakes and bad choices sort of ruined our meal. I don't think we'll return to 5Church, given the bad experience and expense of the meal. Food was very good – Filet Mignon nicely prepared, and yummy sides (whipped potato, broccoli, fries). We also ordered the Ahi Tuna Poke as an appetizer, which was very flavorful and lovely on the plate – bold Asian flavors and some heat, which was nice. The dining room was open, as we arrived on the early side. The interior has been painted with the text of "The Art of War," giving it a cool and very arty high contrast vibe. I was glad the sun was still out, so we could see it. The decor is lovely and modern. The friendly service was plagued by pacing errors. We waited for a while for our server to arrive, though the place was mostly empty at 6pm. Once he arrived, we repeatedly said that we weren't in a hurry, yet, he returned back to check on our progress with the menu every 3 minutes. When we finally relented, we again stated that we wanted to take our time with the dinner, and not be rushed. Of course, our steaks came out sizzling while we were still in the middle of the appetizers. Yet, our side dishes were forgotten, and needed to be rushed out about 5 minutes later. Total pacing failure – really killed our enjoyment of the food. The other thing I don't understand is accommodating the customer. 5 Church has a "Porterhouse for Two" on the menu. It's expensive, but, sounds awesome. Plenty of food for at least two people. We wanted to order a bunch of appetizers and sides, and then share the Porterhouse for my wife and I, and our two kids. The adults were ordering beer and wine, and the total tab for dinner was north of $200. Anyway, they refused to serve us the steak, when I requested that they slice it in the kitchen for us to share at the table. Such a simple request – the answer was "no" – you can cut it yourself. Preposterous. We ordered two Filets, and I sliced them at the table. Steak was delicious and tender – cooked a little over our preferred temperature, but, it was still tasty. When we asked for additional plates, we received teeny-tiny bread plates, with a raised lip, so you couldn't cut your slice of steak. It felt like an intentional slight. Next time I want a delicious steak and really excellent service, I'll probably stick with Houston's.

Not worth it

By guestse13 |

Attempted to go to 5Church for dinner tonight. Arrived at 4:30pm, and according to their website, Google, and Yelp they are open and serving dinner that this time. When we arrived we were told they had a limited menu of about 5 things. We were seated and looked at the menu and decided within about 5 seconds. We waited for about 10 minutes and never once did someone come to our table to offer water or take our order. There were about 10 waiters walking around doing nothing as well as the general manager. After waiting 10 mins we decided to leave and find food elsewhere. Suffice to say they don’t care about their customers, I recommend going to any of the other restaurants in the area- this place is not worth your time or money.

Best shrimp and grits ever!

By JohnJSHowe |

Staff was really great. The hot day cooled off by evening and we ate outside on the second floor deck. Then a thunder storm. A bit off scrambling around, but everybody was cool. The food was excellent. My companion had stuffed lobster tails (hugely, wildly, overpriced and distinctly not local and pointless gastronomically speaking), but I had the shrimp and cheese grits which I took to be Atlanta-style. Best I ever ate.

In keeping with the evening at the High

By Leah B |

We visited this location after an evening touring the High museum and enjoying Friday night jazz. We had a lovely evening of laughter and intellect and felt this restaurant was in keeping with the theme. The Art of War was discussed upon being seated with each one of our group sharing their favorite ideas from the text. It was a little loud at first, but conversations flowed and the crowed soon thinned making it very pleasant. The food was wonderful. We had the wedge salad and the romaine salad. Both were tasty, but the wedge was the more impressive in presentation. Both of our men ordered the "60 second" New York strip which cooks the stake at high temperature from the bottom up allowing one to experience a strata of perfectly cooked stake from seated to rare. It was tender, flavorful and a conversation piece in itself. We ladies had the fillet and Duck Confit. Both were equally scrumptious. My husband and I consider dinning out an adventure. We were not disappointed with 5Church. There were slight lapses in service, thus I did not rate our experience a five. One drink was late coming to the table. If we had been more proactive in enquiring about the beverage this would have been quickly rectified, as was the case when we asked the server about this. It is worth a visit to 5Church to see what a sweet gem it is.

Below Expectations

By Jeff W |

Unfortunately, our dinner at 5 Church was way below average. The appetizers were pretty good, especially the Octopus and Margarita Flatbread. The entrees were the opposite. The 60 Second Steak was described quite differently then reality. We were told the one side was charred, at an extremely high temperature for 60 seconds and the rest of the steak was cooked to your preferred temperature. The steak was as close to raw as possible. It was sent back. The Halibut was average. Small size and came out moderately hot. Our waiter was very nice and professional. Assuming that this was an off night as we had heard nice comments on 5 Church.

Great brunch

My mom and I were staying at a hotel in walking distance and made reservations here for brunch. The space was really cool and we enjoyed ourselves. Our server was kind and attentive, and the food was great.

Great Lunch Experience

By lisamax0707 |

Lunched here during a recent outing to the visit the High Museum with an out-of-town friend and had a great experience. The wait-staff was prompt and friendly and the food, delicious. Nice selection. I had the Jerk Chicken Caesar, which was a great choice; and my companion had a the Mixed Salad, which was HUGE. Recommended as a stopover on your outing to the museum, as it was a quick walkable distance. Will definitely visit again!

Great restaurant for any occasion. Call for reservations if you want to be on the safe side. The food was delicious tasty and well presented. Service was outstanding and the ambiance very nice. They will give you a discount or validate your parking ticket. Restaurant is in colony square facing peachtree st. Parking no problem.

Delicious

By YourRealtorHB |

We had a late reservation, first night in town and was able to get seated promptly. I didn't have much of an appetite however my ggfs did. I stuck with the wagu beef fried rice, they rest of the table had swordfish and salmon/crab salad along with brussels sprouts. Now ppl may not believe this but THESE were some of the BEST brussels I'd ever eaten. They had just the right amount of crunch and tenderness. No one had a bad thing to say about their meal. We actually thought portions were perfect. We planned a larger brunch the next day so we wanted to keep it less gluttonous, lol. The Holy Water cocktail is a MUST try and the other orders were simply refreshing. I would definitely visit again. I would love to try their brunch. Its such a cute chic location with what I think is a rooftop bar too.

Delicious food, great service

By Valleyblue |

We were heading back to our hotel about 8:45pm or so and saw a number of places to eat and we had not had dinner yet and were starving. We went from place to place whose signs said their hours were to 9:30pm and we walked in they said they were closed... except for 5Church. We went in and were glad the we ended up here because we had wonderful service from a very knowledgable and accommodating server (I have an unusual food allergy that is hard to accommodate). The food came out quickly and it was very good. All in all, it was a great experience and we'll go back the next time we find ourselves in Atlanta.

Wonderful Way to Celebrate!

By catwomanAtlanta |

We had an 80th birthday celebration for my mother in law who was visiting with our ATL friends. I must say that this was our first visit to 5 Church and I do not know why...in any case it will NOT be our LAST! Everything was OFF the charts delish! Chef Scotley truly outdid himself - we are following a keto diet and he made it happen with a 4-course meal - it was so tasty - nobody at the table felt deprived! SO SO GOOD!! I gave the long list of what we could and could not have to their marketing MGR Sheila and she said she would get with chef to create something for us - we’ll we never expected it would be SO perfect! We were blessed with Matt as our server - who was AWESOME!! Erin who was assisting Matt with our group was super sweet as well!! And as a special treat the owner Ayman came by to wish my mother in law a happy birthday!! Seriously I am questioning why we had waited so long!

Brunch

By Darren W |

I went to 5 Church in Charlotte about a month ago. I had to try the Atlanta 5 church. I had a great time and the food was excellent. There were 11 of us for brunch. The unlimited $15 Mimosas were great.

I was pleasantly surprised.....

By lenflady |

First time here and it did not disappoint! First, if you haven't been here before, they have parking underground and they validate. You will see the entrance better if you are headed northbound on Peachtree. We didn't see it coming in and went to a lot about a block away. $15 to park there! We started with a side salad with a citrus vinaigrette which was very refreshing. The PEI mussels were in a tomato-based broth with grilled bread. The were plentiful and delicious! My husband had the twin stuffed lobster tails which were served with broccolini and au gratin potatoes. I had the shrimp and grits, which had a tomato-based gravy and pork belly. Delicious! They have a house-made hummus also served which seeded crackers. Atmosphere at the time was a bit subdued since we were having an early dinner. But it looks as if it could be a lively, after-work meeting spot.

Excellent food

By Smel N. Goot |

Had group dinner here and dined with wife as well. Food excellent, service good. Everything ala cart so it adds up to pricey meal. Nice staff,Buckhead location..easy walk from Westin or Waldorf Astoria. One of best meals in ATL. Better than ECCO.

Southern hospitality + varied cuisines

By mkeimkat |

My daughter, friend and I visited during an especially bright sunset on a typical hot summer evening. We were dressed from moving my son into college while most of the guests were dressed well. We were still treated wonderfully, including the host who tried to block the sun from our table! And the food? Delicious! From the grilled peach flatbread to our fish entrees we finished everything. A hit!

The only thing consistent is the lack of consistency in every area of the operation.

By Con L |

I've given this neighborhood restaurant plenty of tries. They have consistently and I mean really consistent poor service. Food quality comes and goes and depends on who's in the kitchen. Do they try to take care of you if you complain? Yes but I'd be happy to pay the full bill and have a great dining experience. Last night I was there with friends. The waitress came over while we were half way through our main course and plunked down the dessert menu's saying "no rush" and then walked away. Never ever had that happen at a restaurant ever. It was just plain unprofessional. And then no rush? I would say no rush indeed since the restaurant only had a few tables full and that was on a Friday night prime time. If you try to book on Open Table it looks like they're jammed to the gils. Not even close. Bottom line....I'm sick of trying. The consistent inconsistency of this place is just too tiresome. My loss since they are in my neighborhood. Bummer.

Good pre- concert venue

The menu has a good selection of choices and there was evidence of preparedness to be flexible to help guests address their dietary preferences Service was pleasant and efficient Ambience was better once a noisy group at the bar had departed And, the food was very good

A Bit Noisy, but great Food & Atmosphere!

By Dennis R |

We live on the south side of Atlanta, and were in Midtown a day early to stay & be near the Piedmont Hospital for a 6:00 am show the next morning. Our desk clerk recommended 5Church Atlanta for dinner. We didn't have a reservation but were seated immediately. The restaurant was busy and has quite an interesting decor! Our server Maryam greeted us and settled us in with water & our wine order. All during the meal, Maryam was very attentive, friendly and efficient. My wife had the lamb burger and I had the shrimp & polenta. Both were excellent! The warehouse-like ceiling doesn't absorb much noise and this makes for a noisy condition when the restaurant is packed, but overall we enjoyed the evening. Both the food and service were excellent! We'd come back again.

Nice dinner

By John D |

Nothing extraordinary, but solidly done, aside from a tiny bit of confusion about who our server was to be. Food was good, setting on the upstairs deck area was nice. We'll go back.

Revisit......Outstanding!!

By FrankPK |

My friend and I made a reservation for 5:30 pm on a Saturday and had tickets to the Atlanta Symphony at 8:00 pm. We were promptly seated when we arrived at 5:30 pm. We brought a special bottle of wine to dinner. The corkage fee is $25 which is higher than most Atlanta fine dining restaurants charge. We ordered mussels as a starter and while we were waiting for the mussels, our server, Jessica brought us some humus and crackers. The mussels were from Prince Edward Island and were in a white cream sauce with bread for dipping. They were among the largest, most tasty and plentiful that I have ever had. Jessica said they come in fresh every other day. My friend ordered the special of the day which was giant prawns that were split and served in their shells on sides adjacent to rich and creamy fettucini which was outstanding and was good as any that I have ever had! I ordered the fish stew which included clams, mussels, fish, small lobster tail, shrimp in a great dipping sauce. Our entree was delayed slightly, but was not an issue with us since we had plenty of time before the concert. Jessica told us that we could order a glass of wine from the menu and there would be no charge because of the delay. I previously did a review on this restaurant four years ago which was not favorable. However, I am encouraged and will be back again soon. The seafood is fresh and outstanding! The restaurant is in a perfect location and within a few minute walk to Symphony Hall with validated and valet parking on site.

Excellent Food and Service

By ALEX P |

Discovered this place on Open Table and was very impressed that it l lived up to expectations. The service was prompt, courteous and very friendly. The menu is quite varied with Seafood, Fish, Steaks, Ribs and Chicken. Wine prices reasonable. All in all a very excellent adventure that I would come back for on a future trip to Atlanta.

Do Not Waste your Time or Money

By frequenttraveler051 |

This restaurant is clearly a trendy place in a great location. It purports itself to be a steak place, but do not waste your money. If steak is what you want then go to a place with a chef and manager that care about the quality of what is served. The meat here does not arrive cooked as you have ordered it, but as the kitchen decides it should be. The manager is pompous as he tells you how many meals he is serving. They refuse to make it right and continue to bring the same food to your table. Paying these prices for meat that is not to your liking is unreasonable. Choose another place if quality and professionalism is what you are seeking.

Echoing other posters

By Becky H |

We all do it...decide we frequent our go-to restaurant too much and think...let's try some place different! We did that recently...and decided to try 5-Church. After the hubby advised he'd snagged a reservation during prime dining time on a Saturday, I hit the reviews on Trip Advisor, Open Table & Yelp. I prefer both of the former places since I also review for both and find other posters on TA and OT more reliable and less, "whiney." Here's what I found...Ambiance, well some described the decor as edgy, I'd say it's sparse/minimalist. Other posters claimed the space was noisy...I can tell you first hand it is, the apparently over served 20-something seated in our area ensured any conversation we tried to have wasn't going to be heard. Who was there? While you'd expect a boatload of millennials, the night we dined the baby boomers greatly outnumbered the younger crowd, so we fit right in. On to the experience, since we had reservations, we were seated upon arrival, I sat on the booth/banquette side, while the hubby sat opposite me in a chair...this meant he didn't have the up & down ridei had ever time someone nearby plopped back down into their section of the banquette. Our server was a nice young guy named Jason, overall he was pretty good, but we felt like there was a pretty long lag before we saw him initially. We asked about gluten free options and he was pretty knowledgeable, but later tried to bring us the complimentary hummus & lavash, I advised him not to set it down as I was pretty sure we couldn't have it...he later advised he checked and neither was gluten free! I ordered the winter salad with beets and blood orange, it was tasty, but they touted the oranges more than the beets and the orange pieces were quite sparse. The hubby began with charred octopus, which he liked. If you are GF and shy away from red meat and seafood, your choices are limited. The hubby had a steak and I opted for the chicken roulade...both were tasty. They had a decent wine list and we shared a bottle. The couple sitting next to use had donuts for dessert, they looked great and I found myself thinking, "I'm glad those aren't gluten free, because I'd be all in!" Perhaps our neighboring diner saw me looking longingly at her dessert, because she said, "don't order the donuts they are so chewy I believe they aren't fresh." We ordered the only dessert 2 gluten free eaters could get, gelato, we chose lemon it was good. Our "go-to place" is and will remain South City Kitchen for 'special' dinners we choose Canoe. 5Church feigns to be in the same league, while the food strives to be, the ambiance isn't even close. Average isn't bad, but i didn't consider 5Church more than that, although I think they are trying to be.

Casual, chic midtown spot with excellent cocktails and food, diverse crowd, awesome rooftop bar

By Robert Franklin |

Casual atmosphere, in a spacious room with cool decor and smart graffiti wallpaper. Service was first class, attentive, energetic and professional servers food was generally excellent. Jalapeño margarita was one the best I’ve had. My hazelnut crusted salmon was very good and unexciting. Would’ve been more exciting if the salmon was marinated in teriyaki or something. Sprouts were phenomenal with a nice honey glaze. Mixed berry dessert tart was tasty and would be better served warm with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. Best test of a restaurant is whether one looks forward to returning. I absolutely will. I was most impressed that management came to each table and checked on our well-being. I also notice that they have responded to each TA review, which is a classy touch. They have easy validated cheap parking. And, upstairs there is a terrific rooftop bar and club.

Just OK

By Kurt B |

Had 8p reservations, seated at 830p. Ordered the bone in chop but the server returned and stated they were out along with the snapper. Also after we ate dinner, several ordered dessert and coffee, server returned to state they were out of coffee! How do you run out of coffee? As for the server, she was not very attentive and service was slow. She came and took appetizer orders but walked away before I could order mine, had to call her back to order my salad. We did have several drinks at the bar and the bar service and drinks were solid.

Loud and slow

By frauduck |

We had a reservation at 9 but didn't get seated for at least 15 minutes all the while looking at the empty table we were eventually escorted to. Our food came to the table over an hour after our reservation. This is surprising to me since the kitchen should have been slowing down by then and they should have been able to anticipate the volume on a holiday weekend. My order was okay. All I ordered was the charcuterie with a side of broccoli. Again, surprised that it took so long for a cold dish. At the end of the evening, someone (he didn't identify himself) came by and apologized but that was it. BTW, don't come here for conversation. The music is overwhelming and some of the patrons shout over it, too. (Overserved?)

Thanksgiving meal was amazing

By bhlraven1916 |

Decided not to cook and found this hidden gem. All the dishes were cooked to perfection. The turkey and ham were great tasting. All the sides were seasoned just right. Not to spicy, but wasn't bland. I think I'll go again next year. The price per person was reasonable. There's plenty of parking.

Big Disappointment

By sabgkids |

It began with parking being a mess, progressed to entering restaurant to watch the 4 hostesses being reprimanded by a manager at the hostess desk while we were ignored. The place is so loud you literally can not hear anyone at the table of four without leaning into the table over your food and drinks. It is also very dark, not romantic, dark. There were two random french fries in my not warm brussel sprouts and the drinks were flavorful without much alcohol. It was very disappointing, would not return.

Here on business for one night. Ate at the bar and was going to order a few appetizers but barely finished the mussels on happy hour price in a tasty red sauce. I ordered a bottle of Decoy cab at a great price and brought the leftover bottle with me. I'd like to come back and try the grilled octopus.

Best Group Meal I've Ever Arranged!

By lindasmileawhile |

I worked with Miranda at 5Church to pull together a meal for 40+ plus people in our group who were attending a convention in Atlanta. She was terrific to work with and organizing the event went very smoothly. The night of the dinner the service was spot on and the food - we heard nothing but RAVES. I arrange A LOT of events/restaurant meals in my position and for a group this large, 5Church definitely warranted the 5-Star rating.

Great lunch salad - energized location

By _MsBrendaGale |

I work in the Midtown area and had a super-busy day and didn't want to break away for lunch. Since I'm in proximity of 5 Church and had heard such great reviews from colleagues, I decided to place a quick order-ahead Jerk chicken salad. It was the Bomb!!! If you're looking for an initial discount on an order-ahead, download the Ritual app and place your order there. When I went inside to pick up the order, the ambiance is beautiful....I will definitely be stopping in for a sit-down meal soon.

Horrible Customer Service Horrible managers on duty for Thanksgiving dinner 2019

By Destiny U |

Horrible managers on duty. My family & I paid $65 each person for Thanksgiving 2019 buffet. Hostess was super sweet and food was great, except waiter & the managers were horrible. The teenage son has Autism and non-verbal, he threw up and didn’t tell us he was feeling ill. Again, as I mentioned he is non-verbal Autism. I tried to explain and apologized but they didn’t give me eye-contact she dismissed me as if not wanting to listen. All the manager says was “Oh, you’re leaving? Let me get your check.” Like we were going to run away without paying, I was just going to take my son outside to get fresh air. But we went ahead and paid our $300 bill and my husband gave great tip. Asked if we can take one plate to-go as none of us finished our meal but was told by both managers “no” which is okay but I didn’t like how they treated us like it was our fault my son threw up. Even the hostess told me their managers are horrible there. Would never go back and not recommended. Wish I can give ZERO stars rating. For sure we are letting all our friends and family know.

Classy and Delicious Food.

5 Church is an amazing restaurant with food to match. Chef Scotley provided an amazing experience. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I went on my birthday and had the time of my life.

Fine dining and excellent service

By Jo C |

This hip bar in Midtown has an excellent bar and plenty of tables and space for large groups. Service is excellent.

Easy, casual with good food

By Jim R |

Great for lunch. Menu is simple yet varies enough for most folks. The steak salad with peppercorn dressing is excellent. Flatbreads are a good choice too. Now has outdoor patio seating, and good bar vibe at night.

Surprisingly good food and service.

I don’t know what took me so long to go here, it the food was excellent. The octopus was super tender. The halibut was delicious and the dulce dessert yum. Service good too. Outdoor is more of a loud bar scene. Indoor was nice.

Solid Choice for Group Dining

By RaanNaledIt |

I had a business dinner at 5Church Atlanta with a group of about 20. The restaurant managed it well. Drinks, shared appetizers, and individual entrées all came out well. The staff was attentive and kept the evening on track. The drinks were well made. The appetizers were flavorful and nicely presented. I especially enjoyed the grilled octopus and the charcuterie board. Both were excellent. Most of the group seemed happy with their meals. I ordered the pork chop. It was fine, but nothing special. It felt like a plain option, especially compared to the more thoughtful dishes on the menu. The only real downside was the temperature inside. It was warm, and that made things a bit uncomfortable for the group. Overall, 5Church did a good job with a large party. It’s a stylish spot that can handle a crowd.

Great for pre-show dinner

By GeorgiaBill |

We had a nice dinner before a recent concert at Symphony Hall. Very convenient to valet at 5Church and walk across. Atmosphere is kind of “buzzing”. Service was very good and steaks were just right. Wine list had many good options by the glass.

Horrible.

By J. Qwellin |

This was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had, it was absolutely shameful. (Let me just say, our waiter was a sweetheart and the only good thing about our entire experience). We started with drinks. We ordered from the specialty drink menu, and were informed that the cocktails were all made with pre-mixed mixes, which seemed odd (and in hindsight, appalling) in the heart of downtown Atlanta where craft cocktails are an established art form. When we got them they were *ok.* Not to mention, the florals added to the drinks were not edible. Literally. They were flowers that were not meant to be consumed. Certainly not worth $17. We then ordered the sushi tots. The rice “tots” were completely unseasoned, and the fish on top couldn’t have been anything but canned tuna. We ordered our entrees. These took a considerable amount of time to come out, and we were told the kitchen was “backed up” bc of a “private party” upstairs. Mind you, the dining room was not packed. One of us ordered the pappardelle cioppino. It came as fettuccine in what can only be described as a sweet tomato juice (NOT a sauce). It was also supposed to include clams, which were absent. I ordered the red snapper, which was supposed to feature chicken of the forest mushrooms. I received the Scottish salmon dish (a completely different entree). I brought this to the waiters attention and he apologized, took the dish, and said he would return with what I ordered. After about 15 minutes my food arrived. This dish was pitiful. There was not an ounce of seasoning, not even salt, on any part of the food. The snapper was rubber tire over cooked. And there was exactly ONE stem of a mushroom that was absolutely NOT chicken of the forest. It also featured what was supposed to be a raspberry vinaigrette, but could more accurately be described as jelly, completely bizarre and incongruent with the rest of the plate. I could not finish it. In the meantime, we had ordered gin martinis. These took over 15 minutes to get to us, and apparently they were also out of the gin that had been offered as an option to us. The whole meal was incredibly slow. It was physically painful to pay such an exorbitant amount of money for such a horrible meal. We left completely disappointed, to put it lightly. This place should be ashamed to offer such an experience in Atlanta. We NEVER complain, but we both agreed this warranted a detailed review. (Shout out to the $24 parking as the cherry on top, we will NEVER be back).

Fantastic space and experience

5church's space is a work of art. Our waiter, Calvin, was friendly, charming and gave us a tour of the event spaces. My bistro steak was delicious and cooked perfectly.

Overpriced and under delivered

By BreezyTraveler06 |

I visited this restaurant for a birthday dinner. They seated us over 30mins after our reservation time. We were squeezed into 3 separate tables (2 square tables and 1 round table). That certainly wasn’t appreciated and made for an odd & inconvenient interaction with other members of our own party. The food came an hour later after we were seated, and was average at best. I ordered the risotto which I didn’t finish. I had a few bites of other meals at the table and was equally unimpressed. The severs were inattentive and barely interested. It also took 20mins to finally receive a straw that I asked for. The ambiance is nice, and the cocktails on the cocktail menu were decent. The food itself is overpriced to be so average. The guys at valet were very nice and pleasant. That was probably the best part of my experience. I will not return.

Amazing!!

By kendall d |

Every time I eat here, it is amazing! The cocktails are so good. It is a great venue for a private party and the rooftop is beautiful in the evening. Will continue to come back here!

So many entrees, so little time

By Ttreats |

So many entrees to choose for just one lunch. I picked the Grilled Hanger Steak and was so glad I did. Flavorful and just the right size. Followed up with the Chocolate Semi Feddo. Outstanding. Excellent service and recommendations from Wlademy.

Great Service

By FCWall |

The service a 5Church was excellent with the staff working as a group to ensure great service for everyone. The steaks while very good missed that exceptional grilled flavor. Definitely worth a trip to this unique restaurant with walls and ceilings inscribed with words from "The Art of War".

Chef Jamie rocks Atlanta!

By mavsfan2016 |

We had dinner on a Friday night at 5Church. Had about a 15 minute wait for our dinner reservation upon arrival. We waited in the bar which gave us a chance to look over the wine list. Impressed with the wine prices and selection. Dinner was amazing. The wedge salad is HUGE - we could have shared it. We both had filets with sides of Wagyu Beef Fried Rice, Whipped Potatoes (OMG! Order these and be prepared to have mind blown - so delicious), and brussel sprouts. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked. The filets came with a choice of sauce on the side. I ordered Gorgonzola but did not use it because the steak was so good without adding anything to it. The service was attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was lively and busy. The feel in the bar and dining room is eclectic, trendy and high energy. I love the #TeamJamie t-shirts some of the staff were wearing and fans of Chef Jamie Lynch will appreciate seeing them on the staff. We highly recommend 5Church for an awesome dining experience!

Decent Food - Poor Service

By bev51064 |

Was embarrassed for the company that entertained us at dinner. We had on waitress who was tremendous but the rest of the wait staff was “off”. Had to ask multiple times for a drink. Ran out of the wine we asked for (when does that happen)? And then the wine was poured part in/part out of the glass. Unfortunately many more examples to provide. Food on the other hand was good. Try the salmon, very good. A few people raved about the Short-rib bowl as well. Hope that your service is better than what we experienced. Enjoy!

Superb Customer Service

By Mich328 |

Gabriella Green(manager) and Jai (host) made the experience a wonderful time! The ambiance is modern and unique. The ceilings and walls are meant to be read. They are thought provoking. I ordered the burger and fries. 😊. The menu is diverse. The Long Island ice tea drink was tasty. If there is a group , only one bill will be issued with an 18% gratuity included. I was visiting from Chicago. I will return.

Good Experience

Enjoyed our visit to this restaurant in midtown. The food and service were good. It had a nice atmosphere. I recommend this hotel

Good lunch but not very exciting menu!

By Stephanie D |

I had lunch here with a business associate recently and we both ordered salad with chicken and it was tasty. The server was friendly but not in our faces - which was perfect for a business lunch. The restaurant was not very busy and it is decorated very nicely. My reason for only giving 3 stars is that it's nothing to "write home about"..... and the menu is actually quite boring. I love a restaurant where there are SO many great choices you have problems deciding what to order..... in this case, I was less than impressed and felt that the salad I ordered could have been make anywhere. Not sure I will go back again.

Tasty lunch, impressive staff!

By Milthill |

Four of us stopped in for lunch before attending a play at the Alliance Theater on Saturday. We were seated immediately and were serve by a most impressive server. My lamb burger was outstanding. There was a mixup with the three Rachel sandwiches - who got which one. Management was impressive in how they responded when we pointed out a possible mixup. I am anxious to return and explore more of the menu!

Great experience !

By Jharv1 |

Attended 5 Church for a birthday brunch and experience was great. I ordered the Chicken & Waffles and it was amazing ! My fiancé ordered salmon and that was great also. Will be going back in the near future. Also, the mimosa carafes were a hit also.

There are many better options

By John R |

We had a large group for dinner in a private room. Admittedly, we had limited choices with a preset menu. We were all disappointed. My diners said the steak was served rare even though ordered at a different temperature. The tuna was the best option but I have had better. The service was terribly slow We got our salads one hour after ordering and our entree 45 minutes later. I wanted to give them a pass because we were a large group but when I went out into the restaurant in the middle of the meal, I saw the place was empty. No one in our group was happy. There are too many options to go here

ok

Ate here over the weekend with my wife and daughter. Food was very good, atmosphere was hip, service was slow and awkward, price was high!

Even with reopening from COVID, this restaurant failed

By Don |

Yes, it’s hard to find wait staff right now and like others, they’ve been closed due to COVID. Even with that, this ‘hip’ restaurant was noisy, very very slow to serve, refused to print a menu when the ‘hip read your menu on your phone’ failed, served ordinary food and couldn’t discern the difference between espresso and a cup of coffee flavored milk. While it’s close to the high & the theater making parking easier, I’d choose McDonalds over this establishment next time. The fact that the manager simply ignored the request or perhaps refused to print a menu when the ‘phone app’ failed set the tone for a negative experience. If you like finer more pleasant dining, go elsewhere.

One of the favorites

By ValerieVas |

We love this restaurant. Best location in Midtown, walking distance to Woodard arts center, Botanical garden and historic fox theater. The service is always outstanding. Food is delicious and flavorful. Nice wine selection, great cocktails. Looking forward to drinks on their rooftop.

New Restaurant in Mid-Town - will be returning!

By AtlantaMike_13 |

Our first time at this restaurant. Always looking for new places around the Alliance Theatre. New place – 5-6 months old I would guess. Staff very nice and attentive, very bubbly. Food a little Avant Gard – cutting edge, but very tasty and different (in a good way). Started with the hearth roasted broccoli as an appetizer – sounds different, but good tasting (and I am not a vegetarian). Had tuna as entrée and again, very tasty and well prepared. Great location in mid-town – perfect for dinner / drinks before the theatre. We will definitely be going back!

Wonderful place for a late-night after-show dinner in Atlanta

By Tony C |

My wife and I had a late (9:45-ish) dinner at 5Church after taking in a performance at the Atlanta Symphony earlier in the evening. Great decor and atmosphere (the entirety of Sun Tzu's Art of War is written in white paint on the black walls and ceilings) was completed by delicious food and friendly, fast service. We had the grilled octopus appetizer with a spicy southwestern style sauce, a romaine wedge salad with balsamic vinegar, bacon, and fresh tomatoes, and crisp sautéed Brussels sprouts with scallions and bacon. All were fresh, delicious, and brought to the table still hot. Decent wine list and some decent desserts. Definitely worth a visit if you're seeing a show at the performing arts center just a few minutes walk down the street.

Wow!

By HMW |

I loved that as we sat down, the waiter explained about the text all over the walls and ceiling. Such a cool story. There are so many cool design elements. The feather hanging lights over the bar immediately drew my eye to them in the otherwise dark decor. We started with a drink in the rooftop bar. I love the idea they are going for and can imagine at sundown that would be the place to be. Kevin, our server, was great. He made excellent food and drink suggestions. Their specialty cocktail list is impressive. I had a Viper, minus the cayenne pepper and it was awesome. The Holy Water was almost as good. We had the scallops and NY strip. If you are looking for a great meal as part of an experience, this is the place for you.

Amazing, exceptional visit

By 2happi |

Another restaurant week choice and again it was fantastic! These pre-selected menu items are hearty, well prepared and a good bargain. Enjoyed the fried green tomatoes, wagyu ribeye, mac & cheese, prime NY strip and hummus and for dessert you must try the fig/apple sorbet. Our server, Eugene, was a joy; so knowledgeable and friendly and attentive. Love the décor!! Valet parking staff were on point. A definite repeat visit is a must.

5Stars for 5Church!

By Monique N |

My husband and I were attending a concert at The Woodruff and wanted to go somewhere beforehand that was in walking distance from the parking garage. It was incredible. We were seated immediately by the personable host; no wait on this Sunday night. Perhaps on Friday or Saturday a reservation would be wise. At our table we were immediately greeted by someone who seemed to be the shift manager, and then our lovely server, CiCi, took over. We quickly built a "circle of trust" (inside joke with CiCi :D) when she made some awesome recommendations that were spot on. The cocktail named "The Viper" was amazing. We hope to try to duplicate it at home. Juiced cucumber, patron silver, orange liqueur, lime juice, a hint of cayenne. Also, my scallops and his 60-second prime NY strip were unique and delicious. Disclaimer--for that steak you have to like it on the rare side. CiCi recommended the hearth-roasted broccoli as a side. I was skeptical, but it was truly tasty. If you hate broccoli, this won't necessarily win you over, but it was the best preparation of broccoli I've had. We were torn between trying it and getting the Brussels Sprouts, which we love, and later during the meal, CiCi surprised us with a complimentary order of the sprouts! It's the second time we have actually enjoyed roasted Brussels Sprouts as a dessert. The sweetness brought out by roasting and the addition of dried cranberries.....mmmmm. Excellent meal, excellent ambience, excellent service.....excellent experience.

Dinner with friends.

By LaraV5 |

Had dinner with friends. Food and drinks were great. Their specialty drink "gingers have more fun" was delicious. We had beef carpaccio, tuna poke, octopus ( just spicy enough) and winter salad as a starters and they all were delicious. Scallop dish was light and flavorful. Our steaks were perfectly cooked. After our dinner we enjoyed few more drinks on their rooftop patio. Cherry on top of already amazing night.

5Church

Came here last night for a friend's birthday party and I must say I am very impressed with this place. The atmosphere is energetic, the staff is very friendly and the food was amazing. This was my first time coming and definitely will be returning soon!

Great steaks!

By P B |

Good choice for a restaurant in Mid Town. Menu is not extensive but if you like steaks, they have a good selection and all were cooked very well. Wine list is good and prices very reasonable. Served was attentive but not over the top. Choice of deserts is a bit limited – but that was probably better for us! We were a group of 6 so on a round table and as restaurant was full (with lots of groups) it was hard to hear anyone not sitting next to you…. But overall very enjoyable evening.

Food was good

By Kenmarsam |

This is an interesting venue. Love all the sayings on the ceiling and walls. The food was good. I had the salmon and potato gnocchi that was amazing. We had taken a customer to dinner here. The food choices were good we had the meat and cheese board. One thing I found challenging with this restaurant is the louder the customers got they raised the music. By the end of the meal we were practically yelling at each other to hear what the other person was saying. There is nothing in the restaurant to absorb the sound.

Food other than Grits was Good

By 627angied |

This was my first experience at 5 Church. Pull up & with a validated ticket, they will valet your vehicle. Our waitress was super cute showing us the Art of War written all over the walls of the restaurant & unique art work displayed throughout. We both ordered eggs, choice of grits or potatoes, bacon & fruit. Where I’m from, we know how to cook grits. The grits my mom ordered were hard. They should have cooked longer. We shared the French toast with lavender, bourbon syrup. Other than the grits, the food was good.

Excellent Dining Experience

By larrylegend28 |

was in town for family weekend (Ga Tech) and brought everyone here. Food was terrific. tuna tartare appetizer, great NY Strip, duck, and lamb burger. Our server (Shane) was terrific. They have valet which couldn't be easier. Good vibe inside in a somewhat lively atmosphere. Looking forward to coming back!

Large group dining - not their forte

By EMuirAGM |

Had a group dinner here this week. Appetizers (pre-arranged and waiting on arrival) were good. Service and many of our many courses were not. staff were slow and disorganized. My entree and the person's beside me were luke warm at best. 2 others side dishes were charred, almost inedible. Desserts were excellent. I think for a smaller party, they would be fine but were understaffed for a group of 20. Odd considering the size of the restaurant.

Something is a little off ??

By RWinzie |

I took my grown daughter and a friend to dinner. My friends comet was that we had not been to a nice restaurant didn't offer to put fresh ground pepper on the salad. The food was not outstanding. I can say we had drinks at the bar. I had a sazerac drink. It was made with care and thought. Even washed the glass with Absinthe. A nice touch. IMPORTANT if you don't valet park. You may be in for a surprise! You take a ramp down to their hourly parking. A large sigh say "public parking welcome". The restaurant will validate your parking. We were there three hours. If we had not validated it would've been $23 for parking!

5 Church does it again!!

By lwade360 |

5 Church does it again. Great atmosphere and food!! Love the vibe and the people. Consistently, delivers with pizazz. Will continue support as long as they keep this trajectory

Good service, mediocre food

By Bill R |

My wife & I chose this place because of the good reviews and we were quite disappointed in the food. We started with a flatbread which had far too much cheese on it. I has the grilled salmon. There were a few pin bones in it and the sauce was very bland. The potato gnocchi were dense and tough and the grilled asparagus added nothing to the dish. The dessert was like a caramel pudding. We won’t be going back.

Decent service, poor quality of food

By Ghoney2003 |

I heard so much about this restaurant and decided to give it a try. I am a big foodie and this restaurant had a great Aesthetic but the dish I had wasn't seasoned at all and tasted very bland. The portions are also very small and parking for 1 hour was $10. My family member loved their meal but mine didn't come out good. I might give them a 2nd chance and try a different dish. It was just ok.

Favorite and freshest meal around

By TravelNYC212 |

What a great surprise to find this excellent restaurant. First, the knowledgeable waitstaff are obviously well-trained and proud of their working environment. Secondly, the food was extremely fresh and tasty. Probably one of the best meals I've had in a long time! I had an excellent entree of scallops with a side of tasty brussel spouts that were wonderful Will return!

Excellent!

By Tracy L |

The salmon and roasted brussel sprouts were absolutely delicious!!! My husband said the same about the shrimp and grits. Service was great, and loved the decor. We will return!

Wonderful food and service

By Tim R |

We had an excellent meal and attentive service, even though our server was on her third night at 5Church. Tatiana was wonderful - great personality and eager to please. She made the evening a lot of fun.

Great service and food--will come back

By Counterfactual |

Overall, I really liked 5Church. The modern look of the restaurant makes it really unique. Our server was very attentive and helpful, answering all our questions about the menu. The food was excellent. We had the peach brie flatbread as an appetizer, and I had the wasabi crusted ahi tuna as an entree. The balance of flavors in the flatbread was just right for me, without an overpowering brie taste (my wife, in contrast, would have liked a stronger brie taste). My ahi tuna was excellent and the accompanying vegetables (seeweed salad, bok choi) were plain delicious. For dessert, we shared the Dulcey Mousse, which was too die for. Overall, a great experience and definitely will come back.

Yum

By heather j |

Went for a business dinner with two colleagues. This was one of 4 restaurants the concierge at the Four Seasons had recommended. There were no tables ready at the first restaurant we tried calling, but we then called 5 Church and luckily they were able to accommodate us immediately (despite the fact that they too were busy). It’s an upscale casual atmosphere. Prices were reasonable and the food was delicious —more tasty than I expected. I had the grilled salmon with gnocchi and asparagus and it was great. The gnocchi and asparagus were perfectly flavored and the salmon was well-prepared. I also tried the fried green tomato appetizer and that was good too. The service was very good. If I lived in Atlanta, I’d return.

Amazing! Must stop!

By krisy00725 |

An absolute must if you are in Midtown Atlanta, and if you're not, get there! 5Church was recommended to us for a great Sunday Brunch spot and it is phenomenal! You instantly see and feel the unique, chic, trendy, upscale modern art vibe of the restaurant. The mostly black and white décor adds to the simple yet elegant theme. The open concept seating is made more intimate and cozy with large upholstered couches around the perimeter as modern 'booth' seating. They have high top tables down the center, a beautiful bar with angel wing lights as well as outdoor patio seating. They have a second floor as well I did not see. Ci Ci was absolutely one of the best servers I have ever had! She was extremely personable, outgoing, friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. She made you feel like you were are your best friends house for the afternoon sharing stories and reminiscing. She made great recommendations for our entrees and they were spot on. My bottomless mimosa was never empty either! Extra points for that! Ci Ci checked on us often, was very attentive and professional while still making you feel like a guest. She was able to tell us the origin, history and meaning of the theme of 5Church. Chef Scott came to the table to check on our experience as well. He was very gracious and welcoming as well. He has a fantastic menu and passion for his work. The brunch menu had 12 entrée items as well as an a la carte selection. There is steak, omelets, chicken and waffles, salmon, crab cakes, shrimp and grits, as well as a burger or salad among other items if you aren't in the mood for traditional breakfast items. We had the Salmon Croquette Biscuits and Crab Cakes with poached eggs. They were both excellent. The salmon was flakey and accompanied perfectly with a seafood sauce that complimented the flavor and texture with the biscuits. I could not pass up crab cakes. I loved them paired with the spinach and egg for something different, yet complimentary. To their credit, we spent way more time here than anticipated because they were so accommodating, friendly and had great conversation. I will absolutely be back and highly recommend 5Church!

Amazing Place

The food is delicious, and the cocktails are really good. The decor and ambiance really make the place great. I came for dinner and then later brunch. Try the mushroom during brunch and the filet during diner.

Tuesday Nights Live Band Night!!!

For those who love live music (as I do) and amazing food this is the place on Tuesday nights!!! Amy Whaley has an amazing voice so if you get a chance to see her live you will not be disappointed!!

Not worth it!

By Harry S |

Came for dinner with some friends and was very disappointed. Food was just plain and ordinary. Best part was the basket of fries!! Atmosphere is odd. Sat us in the back of the back room even though the place was empty. Fast food is a better value.

Drinks with friends ☺️

First time to 5Church in Atlanta! I was impressed with everything! From the friendly staff and the AMAZING service! Pretty bummed I didn't get to try the food. Will definitely be coming back for that real soon! Had drinks (Vipers) to be exact and, they were AMAZING! I will be recommending this place to everyone I know! 💕🙌🏼😍☺️

Sunday Service Rooftop Brunch

By ServingLooksATL |

Sunday Service Rooftop Brunch at 5 Church Midtown. I enjoyed rooftop views, a brunch buffet, and live music.

Definitely coming back!

By Kelly S |

I almost never write reviews. But this place was definitely top-tier. And from beginning all the way up to the end. Let’s start off with the hostess. She was in a red dress with dark hair she greeted us with a smile and seem happy to have us there. With all the commotion that was going on in front, I thought she be overwhelmed but she was actually really calm and friendly. We got seated very quickly once we were checked in and was taken to our table by a tall man I think was a manager. Our server was very sweet and knew about everything on the menu. I believe she said it was her first night serving. We really just wanted to have some small bites so we tried the flat breads, sushi tots, and the muscles. Everything was cooked to perfection! We also tried a few of the cocktails on the menu and those bartenders know how to make a great cocktail. At the end the server went in validated parking without us having to get up. Before leaving A manager stopped us and asked how our meal was and our experience. Very rare does a manager stop and take the time to ask how everything was and actually mean it. I didn’t get a chance to catch her name but she was wearing a black shirt and orange pants. The last thing that made this the best first time at a restaurant was the coat check that was provided. You don’t see that as much in upscale restaurants. Great staff, great food, great drinks, we will definitely be returning again.

Not very good at all, chicken dried out overdone

By John D |

We arrived at around 8:45 PM and waited a few minutes to be seated. The place was almost empty on Thursday save a couple rather boisterous parties. We were told the kitchen didn't close until 10. So, we ordered. I had the roasted chicken for $25, which was not a half a chicken, it was two pieces, way over cooked and dried out. The wife had carpaccio that came with mayo all over it, which she didn't like.

we were looking for a lunch place and found this one by accident.

By floridaprincess65 |

Very interesting place, we loved the decor and the presentaiton, pouched salmon was delish. We really enjoyed atmosphere. We love our lunch.
