Not what I expected!

By TheVeggieNomad |

Many of the restaurant options around Michigan Ave are associated with hotels. I was expecting standard hotel restaurant fare, but was pleasantly surprised with the wonderful atmosphere and excellent food served at 676. The wine list is well stacked with lots of variety and the service is top notch. The fare is upscale dining and the prices match, although the cost seemed reasonable for the neighbourhood. I visited with a group of six and we wined and dined here all night. Great choice!

Great breakfast buffet

By Judy H |

Dinners were just ok with a limited menu. The breakfast buffet had anything you could ask for and was very good. You could get made to order eggs and omelets. I highly recommend the breakfast buffet. It was pricey at $27 each.

676 was great!

By Amy K |

We were chose this restaurant because of their many gluten free options for one member of our party, including bread. No matter what your dietary needs, I am sure they could meet them here. I was impressed with their eagerness to please. I ordered a caesar salad. I normally order dressing on the side, because I prefer only a small amount. At 676 I ordered "light" dressing and it was perfect. My dining partners ordered the hangar steak and fries, which were delicious. I ordered the trout, which was amazing.

Nice, different options on snacks and drinks.

By CheeseBride |

What we didn't like was that the menu on Saturday evening was much more limited and more expensive than Friday evening.

Best Breakfast In Town....

By Michael B |

There are lot of buffet breakfasts on Michigan Ave. This is the best. No foodservice products here. Everything is made fresh and it REALLY tastes good. The staff is very friendly and attentive to your requests.

Drinks are exquisite

By Dan R |

Stopped by after the St Patrick's day parade.Maria is a fantastic bartender. She is very attentive and makes a great cocktail. You must try the infused vodka drinks

Very Good Food Wonderful Staff!!!

By Wellheart |

One of the best meals we had in Chicago out of 6 restaurants. Pricy but worth it. A variety of dried meats (chacuterie) served in Tapas fashion. Cheeses as well. Every thing is locally sourced. All meats cured in house! Breads from scratch as well. Butter made in house! Lovely hot pepper flavored popcorn served as bar food. Also made in house. In the summer months they have a rooftop herb garden as well! Definitely a place to try while in Chicago!

Breakfast

By Steven D |

I never ate anything but breakfast in this restaurant, which is part of the Omni Hotel, so that's all I speak to-----I LOVE BREAKFAST!!!! For me---that's what vacation is all about as I do not eat it while at home---Everything I had was good and not over priced----Once again---the staff---top notch, as was the food. If like me---your a breakfast kind of guy or gal-- you'll leave with a full belly and a smile on your face

Prices of drinks changed each day

By LisaERussellville |

So, this bar is in the Omni hotel and I gave the hotel a raving review. This restaurant//bar is nice (we did not eat there), drinks are expensive, however, the prices for the same exact drink changed on a daily basis. For instance, we paid one price for a drink one night and the next night, we were charged approximately $2 more for the exact same drink. One other convention attendee paid the stated menu price for an expresso one day and the next 2 days, the prices went up and on the last day (when she noticed the prices being jacked up) the final price was $10 more than the first day! Makes you wonder what is going on...

Great food... Great service

By daut59 |

The food is a little pricey but very good. I recommend their steaks or the Angus burger Mmmmm. The breakfast buffet is a bargain compared to what the equivalent would be from the menu. Ironically a lot of items not in the buffet can still be ordered from the menu as part of the buffet!!

Order home made pototo chips

By bah499 |

Have the art of breakfast buffet. In 676 Bar have a Moscow Mule great vodka drink with ginger beer, they make a great one.

Great view and...

By T J |

...Great food! My wife and I stayed at the Omni in Dec., and because we arrived late, ordered a burger off of the Room Service menu...we both agreed it was one of the best we had ever had. This led us to the restaurant, which is located on the 4th floor. We had breakfast, which was amazing, and then after a day of exploring Michigan Ave., stopped in for a late night Green Line and cheese plate. Both were excellent! The view in the morning as we watched the avenue gain activity was fascinating, and the lights of the city at night were just breathtaking. A must stop for an intimate meal with a great view.

Great Service

By Pharmaretiree |

We had breakfast and lunch and the wait staff was just great. Vegan options are readily available! The breakfast buffet is reasonably priced for a big city. Lunch is casual and quite good.

Elevated, sunlit views and service with a smile

By Erin K |

My family stopped in for brunch and enjoyed our meals. Healthy portions, healthy menu options, quality ingredients and on top of it every single employee offered us service with a smile and friendly demeanor. Great place to try if you are in the area. We sat at a lovely round table, but noticed quite a few people pulling up stools at the bar area, so may have a nice bar scene later in the day for those who like the options of regular dining tables or high tops.

Great breakfast to start the day in Chicago

By J S |

Our family of four including two teenagers had a wonderful breakfast. Everyone ordered something different and it was all delicious. It is rather expensive, but the portions were large and we had a relaxing meal together as a family.

Great time

By Rissa |

Went here with my husband for our anniversary. Great and attentive staff. Went there dinner time but they let us order their 676 burger even if its not on the menu. My husband said that the burger is so good. Ambience feels elegant but food price is not that bad. My chicken order is just okay. Food taste fresh. They also have breakfast buffet which is nice too. I belive everything they serve is farm to table food.

Said I was cold, they turned up the AC

By claire000002 |

Apparently the customer is not always right. When I first entered the restaurant, I was shocked at how cold it was, even though I was wearing a sweater and long sleeve. After telling the waiter how I felt, he then proceeded to try to convince me that it was not cold. He informed me that the heating was on, and then did nothing to make me feel better. It was so drastically cold that at a table of 4 nearby each person was literally wearing their winter coats indoors, hoods up. I heard another table remark "wow it's cold in here!" The temperature completely ruined my experience at 676; how can you enjoy food or conversation if you are huddling yourself? On top of this, besides the obvious apathy of the staff, the waiter was slightly rude and unprofessional. It was not too drastic, but for an upscale restaurant I would certainly expect someone more respectful and welcoming. The food itself was good, you can tell the ingredients were fresh, but the combination of ingredients in the scallops and soup seemed a bit off. Even besides the poor service, I would still not recommend this restaurant simply based on the food- for the price, I expect more balance in each dish. Paired with the uncomfortable environment, and edgy waiter, I had a truly unenjoyable experience. Save yourself the few hundred dollars, and do not go to 676.

Great hotel restaurant

By Rob M |

We ate at this place a few times since we were staying in the hotel. I have to say that we were impressed with the good quality food and nice ambiance.

Edible Flowers Da Bomb!

By N H |

We had a romantic dinner with a city view enjoying wonderful corn ravioli with edible flowers. The cheese sampler was fabulous, too. Excellent service. Comfortable seats. On the pricey side but nice if staying in Omni Hotel.

The pancakes are a MUST

By clarissamoreno932 |

THE PANCAKES ARE TO DIE FOR! they are so fully, buttermilk amazing stack of pancakes that pairs really well with their syrup. It is so good.

Limited Menu

By GiGi412 |

The offerings on the menu were minimal and disappointing. The salads were bland. The Hangar Steak was tender and flavorful. The waitstaff seemed annoyed at requests of hot water and that we did not order dessert.

Delicious breakfast

By Carol P |

At our table we had the eggs benedict, french toast, eggs, and pancakes and everything was great. Their specialty potatoes sere a little spicy, but amazing! Staff was pleasant and it was fairly quick.

Great Breakfast

By kmgIL |

The breakfast was a great and a perfect start to a downtown Chicago day. I like the convenience to the Omni Hotel.

What a pleasant surprise....

By llpupa |

This is Omni's restaurant located on the 4th floor of their property on Michigan Avenue. The ambiance is super welcoming and comfortable. They have huge throne like chairs scattered near the large windows where you can look out onto the street and the activity below. This review is based solely on their breakfast buffet, a concept I have never eagerly embraced. After eating here twice, 676's buffet was beyond acceptable. The restaurant has joined the bandwagon of utilizing locally sourced ingredients. (A good trend if executed properly). The display of the food itself was a bit unique. I loved the big cutting board on which brown paper wrapped rustic breads were displayed. It was cut your own slice. What followed was a topping fiesta from flavored cream cheeses and nut butters to excellent jams, nutella (homemade) and honeys. I put a dollop of numerious spreads on my bread so it almost looked like a quilt. But each bite delivered a different and happy flavor. The bacon and sausages were top notch especially the patties of pork, blueberry and maple. It might sound odd, but it was devine. To make my breakfast even more decadent, I found some petite bread puddings with a caramel apple compote. This plus more was before I even got to the egg station. I ordered the veggie omelet not even looking at the variety the chef had. I loved the fact that some ingredients, like mushrooms, were pre-sauteed to bring out the flavors. Boy could you tell the difference. My taste buds came alive and the cheese just sealed the deal. Of course, there were many many more items of which I never even got a taste of...fruits, yogurt, granolas, cereals, croissants, bagels, smoothies etc. For $23 bucks, it was more than worth it. And the service was excellent.

Wow, what a view!

By NancyBsparky |

We had lunch here one rainy afternoon. I had the short rib sandwich with great fries. My husband had a Cobb salad. Both were delicious. The salad was very large. We sat facing Michigan Ave, in the window ( well at least I did ). I was very surprised there weren't many people there. It was an expensive lunch with drinks.... but, hey, we were on vacation!

Convenient Delight!

By ColoradoVisitor |

Staying at the Omni and surprised when 676 came up on the list of best restaurants near us in our google search. Decided to try the on-site restaurant after a long day. Soooo delicious!! Salmon was absolutely incredible. Broiled to perfection, moist and flaky. Beurre blanc sauce and lemon butter so yummy on top. Cauliflower mash perfectly seasoned. Crispy quinoa perfect for our vegetarian diner--wonderfully seasoned. The gooey buttercake was too sweet for our liking. Perhaps vanilla ice cream instead of the butterpecan that took things over the top for us. Service was outstanding from an efficiency standpoint. Water glasses never empty (and we drink alot of water). Not very friendly, though and no attempts to check on if anything needed. Dinner so delicious went back for brunch the next day. We just missed the buffet that wrapped up at noon on Sunday. BUT, the eggs benedict was amongst the best we've ever had. The english muffin was perfectly crisped and the hollandaise sauce was amazing. The avocado toast plate was also delicious. The banana bread pancakes were good, but not especially memorable. Least favorite at the table was the beef hash, but still yummy. Service the same as dinner. Very efficient and solid, but not friendly at all. However, count this as one of our favorite places to eat across the many cities we've visited due to the delicious food. Look forward to dining here again!

Great service & food

By zossyshe |

First restaurant is located in the 4th floor of omni hotel. We got in early, there were a few people but ain't crowded yet. Ambiance was great, clean & nicely organized looking place. The waiter were knowledgable about the menu, The service we excellent , the food was excellent. Must try the veil, it melts like butter in your mouth., so delicious.

If you want fungus on your Yoghurt please eat here

By Zinnie K |

We were staying in Omni hotel last weekend. We planned to have breakfast in the at 676 restaurant and bar. My husband got a cup of yoghurt and opened it to see blue fungus on top. This shows how the staff handle their dairy products. We asked for the manager and she just waived a child's meal. Well my husband got the yoghurt not my child so technically she should have at least waived his meal. The staff did not care much also when we talked to the front desk they were of no help too. We just felt they don't really care for their guests.

Good location. Good bar

By Usamargaritavile |

Had drinks and dinner Bar had a very well done custom drink menu I had the Bloody Mary and it's perfect, a wide variety of veggies crushed into a horseradish concoction, very well done. Service was excellent $23.00 Scallop dinner had 2 perfect scallops and perfect mushrooms in. Gourmet fashion

In room dining was good

By Doubledeacon |

The ny strip was delicious as were the Yukon gold potatoes. The chocolate tart had a great flavor but was more a bar than tart. The service was friendly and prompt.

Amazing Breakfast! Nice for drinks!

By SKMS8476 |

We stayed at the Omni and went to 676 Restaurant and Bar a few times during our stay. It is clean, quiet, sleek, and modern. We tried a meat and cheese platter which was not quiet for us. We were hoping for more options for appetizers. It is a nice place for drinks. We also had one of the best breakfasts we have had in a long time here. Coffee was delicious and silky. I had 2 Eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, and a biscuit with housemade raspberry jam. My husband who doesn't like raspberries, even kept adding it to his english muffin! My husband had an omlet and an english muffin which he said was delightful. I tried a bite of his muffin and it was one of the best english muffins I've ever had. This is a wonderful place to come to for breakfast. I hope to go back again for the breakfast! I would give 676 Restaurant and Bar 5 stars, but I wanted more options for appetizers. That is my only draw back.

Outstanding Breakfast Buffet

By fulpock |

I don't particularly like buffets of any kind but this one was stocked with so much fresh that I couldn't help myself and wasn't disappointed in the least. You can stand there and order a fresh omelet, which I did, and again wasn't disappointed. The wait staff was terrific. Their Dinners are equally as good and equally as fresh. Menu was a bit light but not disappointing.

Delicious dinner!

By Brittani12 |

Stopped into 676 on a whim, and were happily surprised! The food was delicious (seriously, even the bread...couldn't get enough!). We ordered the salmon and braised beef and both were excellent! Great views of the street too!

DEElicious!

By bp102164 |

Probably one of the best meals I had in my whole trip. They have THE best homemade potato chips (fries, too)! And, the absolute BEST Moscow Mule I have ever had! Both of these things were so good, we made a point to go back just for those two items. The view is really nice because it's on a corner and was ALL windows. Service was great.

Service varies greatly

By Michelle D |

The service varies greatly depending on your server. One day we were offered pancakes and waffles which were not on the breakfast buffet but included and the next day we were not offered this. Service utensils were missing from jams, butter, etc by the breads. But the bacon and sausage was very good and the chef making the eggs did a great job.

Good Lunch Spot

By travelbable |

Lunch was great at 676. The service was a bt slow but we passed the time people watching on Michigan Ave. Good prices and excellent food.

Inside the Omni Hotel; great place

By TravelNutFromPA |

We had breakfast in the restaurant and spent a few evenings around the bar. Great place in a great hotel.

great breakfast!

By mrsgros |

the GRITS! oh my! Great service, delicious food Very nice hotel restaurant with a decent happy hour!

A very fine restaurant.

By carcaduceus |

We had breakfast in this restaurant and the food was very good. I had probably the best pancakes I ever had. It was healthy and delicious. My wife was very pleased with her breakfast as well. No complaints.

Downtown Chicago gem

By SarasotaLoveToTravel |

I discovered this she. Searching for glute free restaurants and was impressed by the innovative and locally focused menu, which I did not expect or is hard to find in Chicago amidst the over priced steak and seafood restaurants or plethora of (albeit good to great) pizza and Italian restaurants. The view is great for the 4th floor and prices reasonable for quality and big city dining. Service was outstanding with a waiter who has been there for 16 years. Somewhat mediocre and over priced wine list and a not very interesting Caesar but the pork chop, local trout and innovative iceberg wedge salad were over the top. Definitely a return to place.

Quiet, dignified setting for a leisurely meal

By markers |

Located within the Omni Hotel, but several floors above the bustle of street level, this restaurant offers something that is more and more difficult to find in Chicago's North Michigan Avenue area, a quiet and pleasant environment within which to enjoy a leisurely meal, Interior decor is very tasteful, with nice street views offered by its many windows. Service and food are wonderful.

You can't go wrong with a meal at 676!

By MJandDC |

On a recent business trip, several in our party recommended the 676 Restaurant in the Omni Hotel (676 is their building number). The restaurant purchases from select farms only, so they can tell you where each item is sourced. The restaurant has a very upscale look and refined decor. Menu options (from appetizers through the wine list) are listed on both sides of a single page, so it was short and sweet. Our party was seated by some of the big windows with a great view! The group ordered a wide range of wine and beer, then everyone at our table ordered a different entree. Each meal was delivered piping hot to the table. The wait staff kept our glasses filled to the brim with water and regularly stopped by to see if we needed anything. They were terrific about giving us separate checks, too. Just a gem of a restaurant and a terrific experience all around! When I am in Chicago I WILL be back! (NOTE: They do use the Open Table reservations system.)

Good breakfest

There is a awsome breakfast`buffet... Not so expensive... It helps foreigners like me, which has some problems with american food

676

By J2826JH |

We visited 676 several times during our quick stay at the Omni Hotel. We really enjoyed our breakfast. Lots of options on the menu and the service was great. The restaurant has views of the city. The bar area is nice too, drinks were awesome!

No longer do we have boring hotel dining rooms.

By EAZELIFF |

I stayed here for one night and it made sense to eat dinner here, rather than a more crowded place downtown. I had the walleye and my friend the pasta dish. The hummus appetizer plate was imaginatively presented. It used to be dining rooms in big city hotels were blah places to eat and it was better to go elsewhere. THis was not the case here. Breakfast the next morning I had the lox platter, right up my alley.

Dinner for 15!

By Irish3230 |

Took all our family there with 6 kids under 12, we felt comfortable & welcomed.the food was great & staff excellent. Very creative options for the kids & reasonablypriced. We enjoyed it so much we went 2 nights.

Superb Service!!!

By lisa renee |

I ate breakfast here this morning and yesterday morning - delicious food and the best service!!! This is a rare find...I have always liked this restaurant because of the view of Magnificent Mile. Also, the restaurant was decorated very nicely for Christmas. I appreciate that 676 Restaurant opens at 6:30 a.m. because I had a conference to attend yesterday and early flight today - early breakfast and not having to feel rushed was a great convenience!

Excellent with wonderful diverse menu

By Sharon G |

Best hotel restaurant in town. Staff is great. Service is just right. Food is delicious and reasonable. Breakfast buffet is one of the best.

A decent bite

By Joshua M |

The restaurant is out of the way so will really only be used by hotel guests. The food was good but I wasn't overly thrilled with the service we got.

Rib Eye Hamburger

By MissBlue2 |

OMG! The best hamburger we've ever had. Cooked to perfection, super large and tasty. The fries are fantastic, home made fresh with seasoning salt. We ate in the bar, service was great. Victor and Maria plus the other ladies were fantastic. Great job to all. We will return.

Nice place for brunch

By dialoguetraveller |

We read that 676 was worth a visit, so we looked out for it while shopping on the Magnificent Mile. You access it from the side street as it is part of the Omni Hotel. When we walked in for brunch at around 12.30pm, it was pretty quiet and we had to find someone to seat us. Once this was sorted, we were taken to a lovely table by the large window overlooking Michigan Avenue. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. We arrived at brunch time, but I had to ask for the normal lunch menu for a wider selection. All our requests were no problem for the waiter - he was very accommodating. I tried the Charcuterie for a bit of a change, and was very happy with it. Individual portions are small, so you really need 4-5 to fill you up. My son was very impressed with his burger, and generally we all liked the food. Given the prime location, it's not too expensive. Overall, we were very happy with the experience.

A Hidden place for a good cocktail and view!

By JPA68 |

It's hard to find a good view of the city if you just want to grab a drink and small bite. They have some seating right on Michigan Ave from the 4th floor with a view down the street towards Hancock Bldg. Decent drinks and food go along with it, I stop in here everytime I visit the city and have not had anything bad here.

Breakfast Buffett

By Jessica H |

We had a great experience at the 676 Restaurant , the staff was helpful and friendly. Lots of food choices, very surprising for a buffet, one of the best buffet's we have ever been to..

Much better meals in Chicago

By Carolyn P |

Stayed at the Omni Chicago and ate at this restaurant two mornings, one afternoon and one evening. Some of the menu items were good, but many were just fair. The wait staff, with some exceptions, were not overly friendly. The atmosphere was dark and stuffy. The margarita flatbread had an abundance of olive oil. (dripping with oil) When I mentioned this to the waiter, he said it was due to the pesto. He did not offer to replace it. If possible, I would recommend that those who are staying at the Omni choose another dining option.

Love this place! Beautiful, sophisticated restaurant with great service

By Richard R |

My wife and I had lunch and breakfast here while staying at the Omni hotel. This restaurant is superb. Beautiful decor, great windows and views, high ceiling, wonderful service, and great food. The $21 per person breakfast buffet is unbelievable. It was lavish, sumptuous, and perhaps the best I ever had. Your eggs are made to order in iron skillets and the buffet offers all the breakfast items you ever dreamed of. Oatmeal is not offered as part of the buffet, officially, but it can be included for free upon request. Great spot, highly recommended. It's on the 4th floor of the Omni hotel.

Delicious food & Beautiful atmosphere

By Pierson F |

We enjoyed our lunch here. The food was delicious and the views were excellent. My husband and daughter had the burger and fries. I chose the Chef's special. The staff was friendly and attentive. A bit pricey but worth it.

Great old fashioned bar.

By pmksis |

We had a great dinner here. We didn't know it when we made reservations but it is in the Omni Hotel on Michigan Ave. The bar is great and served excellent cocktails.

1 16 dollar tuna fish sandwich

By Matthew M |

I got the whitefish sandwich and was looking forward to it because it feels kind of Chicagoey. It was not. It tasted exactly like a tuna fish sandwich. The fries were good but not worth the 16 dollars. I am bummed about the 16 dollars that went to what is essentially a tuna fish sandwich. The place kinda feels like the bar in Lost in Translation, as in it's a complete hotel bar. Kinda nice but not anything special. There's no real reason to come here unless you are staying in the hotel and even then I might branch out.

Hotel Bar at the Omni

By Patricia S |

We got the short rib sandwich when we arrived from the airport and it was so good, we got it again the following day. My friend also got the grilled cheese and tomato soup that was a gourmet version of our favorite comfort food. Outstanding.

Best breakfast in the area

By red4476 |

A must stop if your are staying in the area in the early morning. The breakfast buffet was top notch with many selections. My two year old loved the pancakes, french toast and fresh fruit. Actually the French toast was made special for him as it wasn't on the buffet. My wife had an omelette and I had a muffin and bacon. This was money well spent. I had a bite of my son's French toast and wish I had ordered it off the menu.

Nice Views

By PracticingTourist |

Very good for the nice view of Michigan Avenue, and a nice place to rest and have a cocktail while shopping. Breakfast is okay, not a lot of choices unless you have the buffet.

Amazing meals

By Jan A |

Stopped by here for breakfast my first day on site and had a wonderful frittata with egg whites, mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes and arugula....then dinner that night for filet and au gratin potatoes. Everything delicious and perfectly prepared!

Oh Yeah! We often end up here and always good

By Andre G |

My wife and I have been coming to Chicago for many years. As we were leaving in the elevator she said, "You know we often end up here and it's always good". OK. So to get to the restaurant you will need to go into the lobby of The Omni Hotel and take the elevator to your right to the 4th floor. Don't be intimidated it's easy. Absolutely fabulous view of Michigan Ave. The food is always first class. My wife had a steak that she said was excellent. Can't verify that since she ate every bite. I often order odd stuff. I had bone marrow and cheeses. Also had a local larger, "Copper" something, very, very good. Staff were first class. I met Victor and I assure you he will take good care of you. Well worth the the elevator ride. I highly, highly recommend!

Very good - stands up to the local competition easily

By Tony B |

Stopped in for dinner after a long flight and getting settled in my room. Elegant atmosphere, relaxing, and comfortable. Sometimes, being a lone diner, you get shuffled off to a dark corner but not so here. My pre-dinner drink was good. I've had better Manhattans but was above par. Service was quick, friendly and efficient. The wine list was OK, not as large as I expected, but populated with good choices. Surprisingly, they had specific menus for kids and gluten-free. I started with the endive and apple salad fresh and crisp and loved the added whiskey raisins. Then I had THE BEST braised beef short ribs EVER. perfectly cooked, melt-in-your-mouth tenderness and exquisitely seasoned. My new favorite place for beef short ribs. Overall, an excellent dining experience on par with some of the more famous and renowned eateries in the area.

Cocktails at the bar

By Tony J |

My party of three were on our way back to my hotel after our dinner. We decided to stop here for one round of cocktails. The 676 Restaurant & Bar is an old world relatively dark and quiet place for cocktails overlooking Michigan Avenue. It is located on the second floor of the Omni Chicago hotel. We took the elevator up one floor. The bar was named one of the top hotel bars in Chicago by Michigan Avenue Magazine. We sat at the bar. I enjoyed my Kahlua and cream for $10. Hendricks was $13 and a glass of 9 ounces of Dashwood sauvignon blanc was $14. Our bartender Simon served our needs well. My bill was $41 less gratuities. This is the place to visit if you want a quiet cocktail.

Why haven't I told you about one of our favorites.

By Elise_NC |

When we first moved downtown I booked this for New Year's Eve dinner before a play. I first apologized to my husband for booking a restaurant in a hotel (the Omni). What a treat. The Chef is from Michigan. He uses apples in a lot of surprising ways. When friends come to town we end up here. It is a great view on Michigan Avenue. Flatbread and cheese is a good start. The board shows where all the ingredients are from. We have slowed down our stops here because of so many great dining options in Chicago. But the wait staff remains and I feel like they always remember us. Wow. 6 years and same staff, says a lot.

Delicious but a little pricey

By Pistolpetek |

The food was fantastic! Very delicious, well presented. Little pricey, even for Chicago, but if want to splurge, good place to do it!

Second visit, disappointed this time

By bwah6240 |

We came to this place about 3 years ago and were excited to come back. It started off fine with the classic cheese and charcuterie selections. However, the dinner and forthcoming service was poor. The scallops were very under cooked and the walleye was bland. The server not once came after the entrees arrived to ask how everything was. He didn’t even ask when he brought the bill. They were not that busy so we are sure why the service was just plain bad. What was our favorite restaurant in Chicago now is way down the list. Things just aren’t the same.

Great for drinks and apps!

By Jill H |

Such a beautiful bar/restaurant in the Omni hotel. We had the charcuterie which was amazing. Drinks are good. A little pricey but worth it for the view and location!

Great atmosphere

By FrankMtler |

Very cozy environment. Staff was very nice and made the experience very enjoyable. Food was GREAT! Nice presentation and very tasty. Ambiance is great, the view is amazing. Will definitely come back :-)

Great stop for a drink with a view

By Jeremy S |

We stayed at the Omni in Chicago. We found that if you come down to the 676 and sit in the corner you can have a nice drink looking down Michigan Ave. Its worth the stop.

Suprisingly nice hotel restaurant!

By Cheryl A |

High quality, thoughtful food, very accomodating staff. Great selection - lots of nice entrees and sides, something for everyone. open breakfast lunch and dinner. Very nice breakfast buffet with made to order omelettes.

we enjoyed breakfast here

By Shirley R |

We ate here twice for breakfast, 4 adults, two kids. The food is good The service was very good the fist visit but some what less attentive on the second visit. This is a high end hotel so be prepared to pay up.

Amaze

By EricaLynn0201 |

My son and I are staying at the hotel. Decided on a little snack. Well a snack turned into a meal. Being gluten free I was overwhelmed with all my decisions so I ordered 3 different things. The wedge salad was to. Die. For. I have no clue what they put in it but it was the best thing I have eaten in a long time. So simple yet so delish. Also had the cheeseburger with a glu free bun that was so fresh and cooked to perfection. So good I ordered it again the next day. Service was superb. Can't wait to come back again

Wanted - good bar tender

By EnglishHugh |

Over a two night stay we visited the bar both nights and on both nights the drinks and service never quite made it to a Trip Advisor rating of 4 (or more). On the first night the rating was heading for a 2 or less. Why? We ordered the same cocktail for two people and they did not taste the same. Why? Ingredients were missing! With another cocktail we ordered we were served the wrong cocktail! A beer tasted odd - all for of us tasted it and the general consensus was that the jam jar they served the beer in was not cleaned and rinsed out thoroughly. The bar food was pretty good so out of convenience and curiousity we went back on day 2 for a drink and a snack. Ever the optimists !! Tried a Xmas cocktail - sadly not well mixed drink - the balance of Xmas spices was too strong. The experience across two days left us wondering what training and experience the bar staff had when it came to preparing drinks. Having to request a lime wedge for the Coronas helped us to come to this view!

Outstanding!

By Sarah4501 |

Dining solo as a female is always...iffy! Not the case at 676!...I have been here before but this time solo... Warm hostess greeting...she cared that I was there! Sat at a hi-top in the bar area...my request.... Service by Victor...impeccable! Cheese service, Caesar Salad and Dashwood Sauvignon Blanc.... Delicious food and delightful wine...could not have been more comfortable!...see you again in November!....Thank You Victor and 676!

Farm to Table Food, pricey but good service

By Rebe79 |

The limited menu offers local farm to table food. our server the first evening was very attentive and friendly. However, after telling the hostess we were celebrating an anniversary and would like a romantic view, she sat us next to a large table with 2 families which included 4 very loud, noisy, running around the table, standing on the ledge in front of the windows, children. The parents were oblivious to their disruption. The server in the morning during breakfast was not friendly. He brought the wrong items, took a long time to replace my too strong coffee with hot tea, forgot to refill our water, and did not seem to much enjoy his job. This is not the type of service I expect when I'm paying $16 for an order of pancakes. Besides that, the food both times was very good. Excellent preparations and very tasty. Not at all like the heat and serve meals you might get in other hotel restaurants.

Superb lunch!

By Kim B |

We had a quick lunch here, and it was fantastic! I had the chicken salad sandwich which was one of the best I've ever had. I'm usually hesitant to order chicken salad or tuna because I never know what they will put into it. Delicious and great service!

Hit and miss, great and pretty good

By Frankee11 |

There on a quiet Sun eve. Service was good. Poached apple salad delicious, as was the beet salad. Trout, however, was a little dry and veggies under it had way too much vinegar, nearly unedible, despite their being local, etc. Pork chop was very good, but BBQ sauce tasted almost bottled. Grilled peaches with it delicious. Chocolate cake dessert scrumptuous. So I'd say, better for starters and dessert than entrees.

Solid place for lunch

By J Person |

Our friends treated us to lunch at 676. It is a place that if it did not face competition from so many great restaurants in Chicago, it would probably shine. We had a very pleasant lunch--the room, on the second floor of the Omni, was pretty deserted (we ate late, I guess), but it has very clean lines, if not remarkable. The menu has interesting choices, but we just tried a few. 3 of 4 of us had the Great Lakes nicoise, which was an interesting take with walleye pike, and nicely prepared. I had the Great Lakes Smoked Lox Platter, served on a wooden plank. While there were interesting elements--the smoked salmon was good, along with the egg, tomatoes, lettuce, onion and some interesting dried capers. The only issue was the tiny dollop of Zingerman's cream cheese, which did not go very far. The everything bagel was good, if a bit lighter in texture. Compared to the rest of the meals we ate on our weekend in Chicago, our experience was just okay, but standing on its own, it was pretty good.

Great Service and Great Food

By sobore |

The service was outstanding. The food was interesting, I got a selection of meats and cheese that came with various jellies and condiments, it was very good! If you sit near a window you will great a good view of Michigan Avenue below. This restaurant is located on the 4th floor of the Omni hotel.

Fantastic Breakfast

By Sarah G |

We called in for the breakfast buffet, the views were great over Michigan Avenue, the staff were great and explained the menu well. Loved the omelette station, made to order with the ingredients of your choice, they were delicious. Was a really relaxed environment for breakfast, with excellent choirs, and tasty food. Definitely recommend for breakfast.

Great place for a quick lunch

By Nate T |

Every time we say at the omni, we always eat at least one lunch here. The flatbread is wonderful, especially the pesto. All the food is fresh and fantastic.

Will Return / Highly Recommended

By lisa renee |

Breakfast November 17, Friday - first of all I would like to say I very much appreciate that the restaurant is open at 0630 for breakfast because I had a conference to attend and did not want to feel rushed trying to get there on time - the waiter was phenomenal - he did a perfect job - excellent service - I love the décor - the pictures on the one wall were very nice / other walls were all windows which provided very neat view of "the mile" - very clean - I really enjoyed the Christmas décor! This hotel and restaurant is outstanding!

Good quality and value

By smitherj |

I picked this restaurant for a light dinner because they had very interesting small plates and salads to choose from. My wife and I shared a cheese and charcuterie platter, a spinach salad and margherita flatbread, all of which were excellent. The charcuterie platter included duck prosciutto, which was smoky and fabulous, along with interesting and unusual cheeses and sausages. The salad and flatbread were very well done as well. The whole meal, including two drinks for each of us, came in at under $100. Admittedly, we didn't go for the entrees, which were in the 30-40 dollar range, and didn't look as interesting as the small plates (although they were likely very well prepared, given the quality of everything we tried. It wasn't quite at the level of the very best restaurants in the area, but was perfect for a light meal, and at a lower price. The service was professional and very good, and the ambience was nice (if little too dqrk--my wife used the flashlight on her phone to read the menu, as did someone at the next table), and included views of Michigan Avenue.

Excellent

By Bigh717 |

Waiter prob best I have ever seen. Top notch, very surprised. Ordered the hanger steak never had it before, OMG i dont know if it was how they cooked it or i am just not familiar with this perfect cut of meat.. anyways cooked perfect, steak sauce asked and given a homemade one .... this is better then A1!! Wife had POTATO gnocchis. Excellent extremely fresh this is very hard to impress me with any pasta but this was insane. INSANE best ever!!! 3 complaints chairs are weird dont sit right, to hot in restaurant ( maybe just a hot day in Chicago!), and no veg or salad with my meal, i bought a 36$ dinner. Little bit weird but whatever, def think should accompany it..if i stayed another day in chicago, I would def go here again in a heartbeat, top notch place

Excellent hotel restaurant

By activenretired |

We dined here because we were staying at the Omni on Michigan Avenue. The meal was excellent and the service was great. They have locally-sourced ingredients and you can eat vegetarian or gluten-free here as well. The service was outstanding. One more thing: because the restaurant had made an initial mistake with our reservation, they made the wine complimentary. Nice gesture. We also enjoyed breakfast here. I recommend highly.

Okay food and atmosphere

By Joe W |

We ate a late meal at the 676 Restaurant and Bar after a Gangster and Ghost tour. The atmosphere was okay and the food was okay. The service was very good and the bartender was very attentive and talkative. The price was on or with like restaurants. There was nothing that special about the overall experience and the food was par.

Good light meals

By Cynthia F |

I only had appetizers and a quick lunch but both times I was very pleased. Humus was wonderful, tomato soup perfect. Very comfortable to sit in as a single women for lunch and also to gather to meet friends. Staff was very friendly (a bit understaffed at night) and drinks were good. Nice room and comfortable lounge. Even if I was not staying here I would pop in for a drink

Best hotel lamb dish ever

By Hope1215 |

This is located in the Omni hotel. I had dinner here after arriving late for this meeting. The menu and foods exceeded my expectations. Absolutely worth trying, even with all the many amazing Chicago restaurants. I will return!

Delicious restaurant, beautiful views

By kimstamps |

We had lunch in this beautiful restaurant and enjoyed overlooking the Magnificent Mile. Service was great and our food was delicious. Food is reasonably priced, however, expect to pay higher prices for alcohol.

Best Hotel Restaurant Period!

By westphillyboy |

This was our 2nd time staying at the OMNI. Hotel restaurants are usually ok, but this place is excellent. Ate Breakfast, lunch or dinner here everyday. Great views of Michigan Ave. Service is top-notch. The breakfast buffet is large w/ many choices including, cheeses, meats, sausages, muffins, breads, etc. Eggs cooked to order. Fresh OJ Some memorable dishes were the baked apple & parsnip soup, the turkey pannini and the rib eye. Great reasonably priced wines & beers. Several draft beers that can only be found in Chicago. Congrats to the staff !!!

Hidden top notch impressive gem!

By The Happy Traveler |

Located on the 4th floor of the Omni Hotel building just off the elevator. Very nice decor open and spacious. Hostess and staff very nice and service oriented. Met a friend for lunch and was seated by the large windows overlooking Michigan Ave which was nice. We started with deviled eggs which were a notch up with salmon on the tops. Creamy fresh and good flavor. You don’t see these on menus these days so it was a nice surprise. Another neat invention was the salmon BLT sandwich. I had the salmon topped garden salad which didn’t disappoint. Portion of salmon was very generous and cooked perfectly! Only thing I would say is it needed a little more dressing combined in the greens along with better portion of goat cheese. All in all it’s a very nice and surprising change up from the typical regular lunch selections and easily accessible downtown. Great for special occasions, groups or even a quick premium lunch.

Delicious drinks

By Mario R |

Stayed at the hotel and came down to the bar for a few drinks after returning from dinner. Bartenders were extremely friendly offering something new since we were unsure what we wanted to drink. He asked a few questions and whipped up a creation off of the information we gave him. 5 drinks later each (all of his creation and all different) we were extremely satisfied with the experience and quiet area. Bartenders with high knowledge on matching a taste pallet and that care to make a customer happy spending is a hard find. Luckily I had it available in my hotel.

NIce stop, restaurant to collect thoughts and be with friends along Michigan Avenue

By Jon N |

Extremely accommodating staff. Very friendly staff. Food excellently presented, prepared; food tasted very, very good. Seating very personal, comfortable, initmate. Food came quickly.

Loved it !

By Colleen O |

Great interior design, loved the food, professional servers. Sometimes hotel restaurants are to be avoided but this is certainly not one such establishment.

What a great afternoon discovery!

By Reece |

I was staying at The Omni and rather than going out decided to try 676 Restaurant on the 4th floor. What a great afternoon discovery it was! Everything was amazing, from the view onto the Magnificent Mile to the incredible wine and you must try the Duck Prosciutto! Amazing service to top it off!

A very good restaurant

By Jack K |

We went here on Dec 23 with a group that included a vegetarian, a vegan, a Celiac (meaning gluten free), and 4 other 'normal diet' people including myself. They were able to accommodate all the special diet needs (which were related to food allergies), and everyone was happy. They source their food from local farms, and I have to say, it was really exceptional. Even the chicken was great - my son said perhaps the best he's ever had - and we've eaten all over the world. (Chicken is one of those entrees that is usually neither bad nor great, so his statement meant even more in that context.) I'd call it 'exceptional American' food. The service was also exceptional. (Admittedly it was a probably less-than-average attendance night, so I can't speak for service on a 'normal' night.) Huge windows facing Michigan Ave produced very pretty views after dark. (You might request such a table.) We wore jeans; no problem. Everyone in the party thought this restaurant was exceptional.

Excellent food and wonderful service

By DianeTheAdventurer |

I had dinner here with a colleague and the food was amazing! Lots of vegetarian options for me :). Excellent service and the presentation of the good was lovely. If you don't eat here you are missing out! There is also a neat bar in the restaurant. Great views with large windows-great for people watching.

I have had better cafeteria food than the meal I ate there today

By Sylvie S |

It was supposed to be a special lunch for me and my daughter. Instead, it turned into such a bad experience that I had to buy her an additional lunch afterwards! She ordered tomato soup and half a cheese sandwich. Hard to mess up, but her soup was so oily it was actually separating in the bowl. Her half sandwich was dry, and the cheese was just a big slab of dryness as well. I ordered a spinach salad. I asked for the almonds to be removed, and for chicken breast to be added. I asked if there were hidden ingredients, not listed on the menu, and was told no. When the salad arrived, it was covered in raw onions -- a fact that was not communicated either on the menu or in person. The chicken? Ah, the chicken. It looked like cheap, pre-cooked chicken with fake grill marks. It tasted like that, too. It also was slimy. I could not believe that a restaurant in the Omni hotel right off Michigan Avenue could serve such terrible food. Very disappointed!

Very Convenient

By Lindsay F |

We ate breakfast here every day we stayed in Chicago and one night went in for a late night drink and snack.

Upscale elegance

By Lisa J |

If you are looking for an elegant place to unwind, this is it! The food is amazing and unique, the staff is professional and kind, and the view is wonderful. Ask for a table overlooking Michigan Avenue. Breakfast is a truly delightful experience too!

Quiet, romantic, and great view of Michigan Avenue

By Michele C |

The atmosphere is elegant with high back chairs and a wonderful view of Michigan Avenue. You feel as though you are the only people in the area. The bar is quiet. The cheese plate is good but small in portion. The cocktails are very good but expensive; basic cocktail is over $10. The waitress was outstanding. Located on the fourth floor of the Omni hotel.

Good restaurant week food

By DFH1967 |

My husband and I ate there this past week during "Restaurant week" in Chicago. It is on the 4th floor of the Omni Hotel where we stayed. The menu had some interesting choices and we especially enjoyed the first course of cheese/meat pairings with condiments. They were served on a wooden tray for us to share and there were some surprising combinations. Everything was tasty and well-prepared. The service was excellent. I had lamb and my husband had steak. Both were perfectly cooked. The desserts were both delicious. It was $44 per person for a four course meal.

Great food and atmosphere!

By michaelmY7565AF |

My husband has celiac's and the restaurant was very accommodating ! food was great and not frozen. It was freshly made and obviously so

Good and Functional

By Sliphorn |

We had dinner here the first night and breakfast both mornings. It is a nice place. I know they have a buffet at breakfast but we went a la carte. The dinner was nice as my wife had scallops that were large and tasty. They came with a small pool of potatoes so I shared the fries that had come with my veggie burger, which was house made and very nice. The English muffin my wife had was wonderful and my oatmeal was to die for with brown sugar and soy milk that had been heated. It is nice that it is here.

Outstanding Food, where's the crowd?

By NeedSher |

Okay, the place is in a hotel and on the fourth floor so people won't just stumble into this restaurant. It was very quiet on a Thursday evening for a dinner with family. What to expect for a restaurant in a hotel? The menu is not expansive, chicken, pork, beef, et al... The surprise was the excellent preparation and taste, the chicken cooked using a French technique (sous-vida) resulted in an extremely tender and flavorful taste experience. The pork chop, slightly smokey, served with white beans and apple slivers was equally outstanding. Great list of local micro-brews, excellent service, and add a dazzling view over Michigan Avenue makes this a place worth seeking out. Why is this place so under-appreciated, based on what we observed this evening? Good question as the food and service should have it full every night.

Nice,,,,,

By Will O |

Basil pesto chicken salad sandwich,,,,might be the best chicken salad sandwich I have had. Nice bread. Fries were a bit salty and oily however. Nice vodka tonics. Good service

Never Disappoints

By alcand |

Stayed at the Omni for the weekend and as usual the Sunday breakfast was the best food, service, and special treatment. Sit by the window overlooking Michigan Avenue if you can. Our grandkids took their AG dolls to the table with them, and the hostess provided special minature chairs for the dolls to sit in! The farm fresh food and local sourcing is wonderful and assures that everything is very fresh. My favorites this time were sausages made with Michigan blueberries, maple flavored bacon, the made to order eggs, and fresh squeezed juice. They feature many gluten-free items for those on a special diet. This is a great place to start your day in the City. If you stay at the hotel, consider the breakfast package with your room.

Excellent Breakfast

By kervin0819 |

We ate the breakfast buffet twice while staying at the Omni. It was delicious. The staff were so very kind and helpful. They went out of their way to make your visit a great experience. Some may consider $25 per person pricy for breakfast but you are paying for the view and the exceptional service not just your meal. Great for special occasions.

Friendly staff and great drinks

By TrustedAgent |

Friendly atmosphere and staff. It’s nice to have an on location place to grab a few cocktails. Bar staff was great and made great drinks. Wish they were open a little longer in the evenings and during the afternoons.

Mother's Day breakfast

By Janet L |

We enjoyed the Art of Breakfast on Mother's Day before their brunch started. I was apprehensive at first on paying 23.00, but it was well worth it. I did feel rushed though as their 65.00 per person brunch was starting. Everything was very good.

Cheese plate is wonderful!

By paty d |

Everything we ordered was delicious. The flat breads and creme brule were both tasty. My entree was the cheese plate, I chose four from the list. Each cheese comes with its own jam that is made in house. I always have a hard time finding good cheese plates in the city and I was pleasantly surprised with this dish! A definite must for cheese lovers.

Bookend to the Day

By Westpo |

In the morning, my wife setup a table with a cup of tea and wifi access (free to Omni Select members) to do some writing. I joined her late on one morning our stay and had an omelette, bacon, and potatoes with the buffet. The staff was very accomodating and did not try to turn the table. We ended the night with drinks with my sisters and selected from the wine menu (waitress very knowledgeable on the selection) and the craft beers (mostly bottles with local and regional selections). The mixed drinks were so-so with a very sting blood orange whiskey sour that was sent back and adjusted with some sour mix that didn't work, but the servers replaced without any issue. If you are staying in the Omni, 626 provides a great bar and breakfast option.

Sit by the window

By JEFFREY G |

For some great views while you enjoy a sip of bubbly and a appetizer, I did and my wife and I had the breakfast buffet, expensive but good and healthy options are available.

Reasonable priced gourmet food

By Soumiatou N |

Very friendly and professional staff. Food was delicious! Cocktails were great too. We will definitely be back again!

Amazing food and staff

By Angela S |

everything was so fresh and prepared well. staff was super friendly. The breakfast was our go to daily meal there. Homemade omelets, fresh jams, fresh fruits can't say enough good about the food and staff.

Great food and service

By Sandy H |

We stayed at the Omni Chicago Hotel and ate at the restaurant twice during our stay -- breakfast and dinner. Both were great!

676 Nice view.

By Jeff J |

We went to the 676 every day on our 5 night city stay. Every morning for our coffee and to review the days plans this is where we started. Evenings for a cocktail and to enjoy the city street views while sitting in cushy chairs. We had a light dinner at the restaurant on our first night. Great service and food. Expect to pay big city prices for food and drinks.

Well presented and the taste is even better than the appearance.

By Mac E |

It's good stuff. Nothing pretentious, but very well done. Appealing to the eye and more importantly, the taste buds.

Maria is Special

By Hopman_333 |

It was a rainy afternoon and we stopped for a glass of wine to people watch down below. Maria was very engaging and welcoming, every service operation would like a team of Maria's. She asked why we were in town, next we know we have a board saying Happy Anniversary with a delightful piece of double chocolate cake. Great to see that the Omni allows empowerment to the employee. We will be back soon, thank you again.

Christmas Day Treat

By jeffl499 |

It is difficult to find restaurants, cafes or bars open in downtown Chicago on Christmas Day. On this cold, wind, snowy day, we wandered down Michigan Avenue in search of a place to warm up and relax. The Omni lobby provided a welcome respite, but even more exciting was the discovery of 676 restaurant two floors up. A glass of wine and delicious bar nibbles were just what we needed as we killed an hour before catching a cab to a restaurant for Christmas dinner in the Lakeville. The view of Michigan Avenue from our corner booth with its holiday decorations and lights mixed in with the snow made it even more enjoyable

Good buffet for breakfast, but remembered it better

By WorldTravelers2000 |

Went for their breakfast buffet. Food was good and fresh. It used to be better from what I remember. They had salmon behind their counter but would not serve it for the buffet. Bread was good and fresh and the sausages were tasty. Would go back for breakfast if I was in the neighborhood and hungry, but this is not my breakfast destination anymore.

Safety Zone

By JimmyO-LA |

Delicious dining on Michigan Ave. with an understanding wait staff. 676 handles extreme allergies with caution and care for a truly enjoyable meal. No games here explains the server. What you want is what you will get. Everybody in our party were able to have a carefree dinner. Burgers and turkey panini excellent. Service A-1. Would go back if in Chicago again. Most important-no after dinner stomach ache with lingering effects. Thank You

Beautiful atmosphere and cocktails

By Char14208 |

Visited the bar at the Omni for cocktails before dinner. Get the table in the corner for best views of Michigan Avenue. The waitress was knowledgeable about every kind of cocktail and the truffle Parmesan and chive popcorn is a must! The tart cherry infused bourbon was delicious! Definitely worth the trip if you’re visiting Chicago.

A very good "hotel" restaurant & bar

By Robert S |

This fourth floor cafe & bar is host to decent nighttime drinks overlooking Huron & Michigan Ave and decent daytime meals. Service is attentive. Thoroughly enjoyed lox & bagels platter that was large enough for two to share & quite good.

Wonderful place

By Sam Walker |

Excellent service, lovely cocktails and the planks of cheese and charcuterie are wonderful! Highly recommended! We will go back tonight!

wonderful!!!

By cubsfan29 |

Its a hidden gem inside the Omni Hotel on the fourth floor overlooking michigan ave. There are no signs to tell you where it is. The menu is small plates to meals and we had some cocktails and appetizers. Our cheese flight was amazing and so was the flat bread. Its nice to sit in plush chairs to take a break from walking and shopping in this place. We can not wait to go back on our next visit and try the meals.

Pricey, but delicious!

By Patti M |

Delicious breakfast! Pricey, but so is everything these days! My husband enjoyed the Wild Mushroom Omelette and I had the Blueberry sausage, egg and cheese on a croissant, which was delicious. Great service! Also had drinks the night before in the bar lounge……another lovely experience.

Great breakfast buffet

By Teresa M |

The breakfast buffet is always delicious and the view is fun overlooking Michigan Avenue. Eggs made to order, fresh fruit, meats, breads, cheeses, and all the usual items for a full buffet.

Great restaurant!

By Sam S |

The 676 restaurant was very enjoyable so we had breakfast there every morning. The French toast and the omelettes are delicious. Breakfast meats are very good and the chef prepared jellies preserves and relishes are delectable. The staff is very friendly and attentive couldn't ask for more. We were staying at the Omni so we also had room service one evening and ordered the signature ground ribeye burger it was perfect. I would highly recommend it.

Good food, good service

By Bill W |

676 wasn't the normal hotel restaurant. We found the food to be very good, as well as the service. The east wall is basically windows looking out over Michigan Avenue, so try to get a window seat.

Warm Open Setting Overlooking Michigan Avenue

By Cosmos Mariner |

A welcoming open setting of the bar and restaurant looking out over Michigan Avenue. There is an nice section with comfortable seats in one section of the bar kind of closed off making it more of a lounge. The area sourced food is a hallmark of 676 and much appreciated. Was surprised to find such well prepared salmon. Cheese selections are excellent. The flatbreads are well sized and tasty. Enjoyed the simply made housemade Italian sausage flatbread a great deal. The Charcuterie was excellent for small bites. Well worth the visit.

American Girl Experience was a joke

By Erin A |

Candy Buffett was 2 shot glasses of gummy bears & overcharged us for food, the best they could offer me was a comp dessert. This was a $600 experience that my daughter was very disappointed in. Very sad

Happily surprised

By Ahems |

Went to the hotel's restaurant 676 with a group of business associates expecting the worst and left happily surprised. From past experiences whenever staying at a hotel and eating from their restaurants the prices are outrageous. The prices here or reasonable and the quality of service and food was very good.

Unexpectedly very good!

By blonde375 |

We enjoyed a late Sunday evening dinner after the theater. Restaurant was nearly empty on a very busy convention weekend in Chicago; we were surprised at how quiet it was. The food was very good and portions were surprisingly filling. The view of Michigan Avenue was nice especially at night. Bar area was inviting. We would definitely return!

Christmas Joy!

By Misty B |

Fantastic lounge area and bar menu! The warm apple cider & spiced rum combo was a perfect touch for Christmas night! If you're looking for food I recommend the creamy tomato soup, fries and cheeses from the cheese cave....spectacular!

Great Appetizers and Cocktails

By Craig K |

We only visited the bar once during our stay, but it was well worth it. The cocktail selection was outstanding and the Blueberry Collins was fantastic. They make their own infused spirits which are great. The appetizer sampler was amazing with our favorite being the smoked sausage.

676 lounge at Omni Hotel

By Brownie8888 |

I have have to say it’s really fallen of the map. The hotel was getting tired and the lounge has fallen into the same pattern I have to say let me know your charging us for bar compliments but charging 8 dollars for cashews then please give cashews? I can provide pictures of what I was served and charged. I guess that’s why I don’t stay there anymore. Thumbs down to the Omni in Chicago.

Dining

By markomatic1 |

Excellent breakfast buffet. The food was wonderful and the staff took good care of us. Fresh fruit and omelettes made to order

Excellent Filet

By cfavr59 |

Meal was delicious, folet done perfectly, scrumptious whipped potatoes and perfectly done asparagus.

Great restaurant!

By Jensen76 |

Very good food, nice waiters and view over Michigsn avenue. Nice littles dishes you can share for starters. Surprisingly good for a hotel restaurant.

Really great hotel restaurant

By RahulMD |

I ate at this restaurant while I was at the Omni for a meeting and it is probably one of the best hotel restaurants out there. The ambiance is great, as well as the food. The restaurant overlooks Michigan avenue, so if you want to people watch while you have your food, I would definitely ask for a table near the window. Also try the Hummus, its excellent!

Good Fare

By Lee0603 |

I had lunch here between my meetings. The food was good and plentiful with sizable portions that were very tasty. Service was very good and very helpful. You do not have to be staying at the Omni Hotel to enjoy this restaurant. Give them a try I think you will enjoy the food

Surprisingly terrific

By Mary D |

I needed a good restaurant in Chicago near the Peninsula Hotel for a business dinner for 7 on July 21. The 676 in the Omni Hotel was perfect. The setting with views above Michigan Avenue was fun and the staff was welcoming and efficient. We had the dates and Margherita pizza for appetizers, which were delicious.. I had trout for the main course, which was great, and we finished with berries and one order of warm chocolate cake for the table to pass around and share. They were all wonderful. I had the Pinot Noir from Santa Lucia and that complimented dinner very well. There were families and other diners but the setting is quiet and relaxing. We really enjoyed our meal there.

Nice hotel restaurant

By James S |

This is part of the Omni Hotel. It is both a restaurant and bar. It overlooks Michigan Ave, so a table near the window allows for enjoyable people watching. We did not have a full meal here, but rather one of their shared starters which was a margarita flatbread with basil grown on the hotel's rooftop. It was so good we had it on two occasions while staying at the Omni.

Thanksgiving Dinner in a restaurant? Absolutely at 676!

By barcar1 |

I never imagined a hotel restaurant could be this good and I never thought I'd like Thanksgiving dinner in any restaurant. The restaurant focuses on regional ingredients and incorporates them into many of their dishes. Dinner was 5 courses, four with choices and one shared charcuterie and condiment course. I wish I'd taken pictures. The presentations were inventive, the variety generous. My brother and sister-in-law who love wine and fine restaurants enjoyed this holiday meal very much. Ironically, we heard from a family in the elevator that last year Thanksgiving Dinner at the 676 was not good. They must have gotten a new chef because our dinner couldn't be beat! I almost forgot - the service was excellent - frequent table checks but nothing obtrusive.

Hidden Gem

By Brian L |

Thanks to trip advisor for the location of this hidden gem over looking Michigan Ave in Chicago.....had breakfast from the menu even though there was a big buffet....not bad for the price and excellent service

Comfortable and relaxing.

By 69Goatman |

Quiet corner table so we could people watch on Michigan Ave. Cheese tray was excellent, try the Red River. A nice quiet spot from all the hustle and bustle.

Too cold great staff

By suzannebrady |

We came here each night of stay for four nights for drinks before and after dinner. We were served by Martha and Brook during our stay and they were both good, but Martha in particular was excellent. She was very engaging, friendly and helpful and it was a pleasure to be served by her. The only thing to be aware of is that it’s absolutely freezing cold in the bar so we all learned to take our cardigans and pullovers with us!

WARNING... NOT your typical hotel restaurant... In a GOOD way!

By Nicki P |

We found this restaurant on 'Open Table' the night before. It had great reviews there. Two things I can't understand... 1. Why the mixed reviews 2. I'm not sure why the place wasn't jam- packed on a Friday night. Yes- the menu is small but the quality and freshness of the food is outstanding. I could smell the freshness of my husband's salad from my seat - wow! The service was excellent. The soup with tomatoes and beans was superb. When I ordered the soup I asked about the ingredients (I am lactose-intolerant) the waiter doubled checked the entree I ordered with the chef without me asking him too (Apparently the risotto side has creme in the base it is made with). The waiter knew it was our wedding anniversary and surprised us with a complimentary dessert! I would definitely recommend this restaurant! This is NOT a typical hotel restaurant.... BUT in a good way!

676 Bar & Restaurant at the Omni a don't miss

By Tod R |

Fun bar and restaurant in 3rs floor of the Omni Hotel. Fabulous location, out of the hustle and bustle right off Michigan and Rush. Staff very accommodating and friendly, food is really good and prompt, woodfire grill pizza Is off the chain

Great bite

By Karla V |

Just stopped in for a drink and appetizer before hitting the city, the lights and dusk/early evening were very pretty. We had the charcuterie with goat saugage, duck prosciutto and poppa, with Brie and cheddar....perfect (we only needed more toast) with a couple cocktails- just what I was looking for. Service staff was efficient and professional. I would like to have had the chance to eat there again before leaving. With staying at the Omni, this made a convenient stop which I was not disappointed.

A great venue for food and people

By Dana Los Angeles |

A great Chicago venue if you love food and people. 676 does dining in a great way, and this is a fine place to spend time and dine.

Nice bar, ok food.

By Bill W |

Was at hotel for conference and had conference lunch at the restaurant and dinner on own at the bar. The conference lunch was in the restaurant so feel it reflects the restaurant. Salad was very good. Main course was mediocre at best. It was buttered noodles with chicken. Very bland and disappointing. Dessert was a cobbler which was decent. I also had dinner at bar first night on my own. The bar is very nice but the wine was quite pricey. Main courses also seemed somewhat expensive. Had a Panini and fries. It was fine but not great. Fries were very good. Overall may not have been totally representative experiences and would eat there again if I were staying at the hotel but it would be out of convenience. I would not recommend someone make a special trip there.

Great staff - family oriented

We took our 3 grandchildren with another couple (who had 2 of their grandchildren with them) to Chicago over their Christmas break. Stayed at the Omni on Michigan Avenue, making reservations there at 676 for New Years Eve for the 9 of us. It was a great experience, the staff were very accommodating and great with 5 very excited young ones (ages 8 to 3). Food was very good, great view of Michigan Avenue with Christmas lights. I'd recommend this place!

Limited choices

We wanted to go in for a drink and food. However, the menu is very limited and geared only to the organic eater. There were no sandwiches, pizza or snack-type items available. We decided to skip it.

Not a fan

We had a long wait. We rarely saw our server. The drinks were average. The food was average. Chicago offers better choices. Live and learn.

Two meals here and counting....

Staying at the Omni. Had a burger with fries. It was awesome! Flavor was phenomenal. Cooked to perfection. Second night I had the meatballs and lamb bacon brussel sprouts. Both were really good and recommend them! Cocktail list is decent. I recommend the house blueberry tequila infusion. Great service and very attentive.

Very good late night dinner!

We arrived in Chicago around 7PM and took a shuttle to our hotel....the Omni Chicago. It was late by the time we checked in and unpacked so we decided to just go down to the hotel restaurant. It turned out to be an excellent choice! The menu was somewhat limited and a little expensive but...the food and service was outstanding. My wife and I both had the short ribs and they were melt in your mouth good! We enjoyed it so much that we went back later in the trip for drinks and appetizers. I would recommend it!

Best Breakfast Buffet

By Craig L |

This was the best breakfast buffet that I have ever encountered period. The quality was of the highest caliber. Every item was perfect. The omelette bar was beyond belief. The waitstaff and cashier so freaking friendly it was uncanny. The $26 price was worth every penny!

Really nice bar

We went for a light dinner in the bar and sat overlooking Michigan Avenue. This is a very comfortable bar with charming service in the Omni. Many excellent wines by the glass. Veggie burger was tasteless but fries were terrific. Walleye sandwich also very good and was accompanied by a generous serving of fresh fruit. We would definitely return when in the neighbourhood.

Good breakfasts

We only had breakfast here, but we ate here more than once. The waffles were great, and the eggs were tasty as well. Good coffee.

Excellent!

We had dinner here during Chicago Restaurant Week with our kids. 3 of us chose the 4 course dinner from the restaurant week menu and everything was great. Our younger kid ate off the kids' menu and he tried some of our stuff. We liked that they use local farms. We all left full and happy.

Excellent hotel restaurant. Had the lamb two ways and was pleased. Everybody in our party had only good things to say about their respective dishes. Great views out onto Michigan Ave.
