Better and Better

By Rosalie M |

After a number or months without a visit to A FOOD AFFAIR we dined with the Royers this evening. We had thought it was one of the best French restaurants where we had dined in both the U.S. and France . Now I must confess that I cannot remember another French dinner that exceed ours tonight. There were five in our party, we ordered a variety of dishes and all were delicious, garnished beautifully with vegetables and flowers and magnificently presented. The restaurant has been enlarged and was full and the wait staff cooperated with one another so everything ran smoothly. Besides cooking exquisitely and treating their guests as personal friends, the Royers must be wonderful employers as we recognized many of the wait staff as having been there for more than four years. Better and better.

Romantic evening

By shoopdaddy |

Visited A Food Affair for an early Christmas dinner. Staff was absolutely fantastic; friendly and very attentive. It means a great deal when the chef/owner comes to your table to welcome you and ensure everything is going well. Lamb shank was amazing, bourguignon equally so; melt in your mouth good! The Creme Brûlée was delicious with little tiny chocolate chips. Merci beaucoup!

Genuine French restaurant. A real find in west L.A.

We were guests and was pleasantly impressed by its ambience, food and services. I had beef bourguignon and it was excellent. The French owner/chief came to our table to greet us, and later sent us a surprise dessert.

A Treasure -- French Bistrot on Robertson Blvd

By Janettravels44 |

Wonderful treasure of a little French bistrot. We had the beet and citrus salad -- just lovely with little puffed capers. This was followed by duck confit on a bed of spinach and lentils -- I love duck confit and it is not easy to find in the US -- this was terrific. We finished with a very good mousse. The mojitos we had for aperitif were well made and presented. This is a terrific place in a sort of out of the way spot; moderately priced, lovely service, good food.

Excellent, informal French bistro

By Ajay L |

I took my mother to A Food Affair for the Mother's Day prix-fixe dinner. The experience was very pleasant. The restaurant is situated along a nondescript portion of Robertson Boulevard south of Pico Boulevard. There is no valet, but on-street parking was abundant, at least on a Sunday. There are three dining areas: a front patio, the main dining room, and a rear patio. All are pretty basic, with wood tables and placemats on heavy wood tables. The main dining room, where we ate, was fairly "live" acoustically, and attractive, with stone walls on the side. Tables are pretty well spaced, the structural posts offering some privacy for the tables along the front wall. The rear patio is accessed from a circuitous route around the kitchen and up several stairs. The menu consisted of three courses. We appreciated that the choices were limited to three to five dishes for each course. As others have noted, it's BYOB, with no corkage fee. Plates and glassware were not especially distinctive, except for the triangular main dish plates, but the food was attractively arranged. Everything we ordered was outstanding and portion sizes were reasonable. Service was gracious but spotty, possibly because of the big holiday crowd. We had to ask for water and bread, and we were left to pour wine to ourselves -- but, being that we'd brought it ourselves, this was no big deal. I'd definitely return to this restaurant for the food quality, the pleasant and informal atmosphere, and the reasonable prices.

A must!

By drotterson |

Wow! Absolutely, loved this restaurant! The food and service were great! Started with Kir Royales. Shared the Duck Rillettes appetizer. It was fab. Then, had the Mary's Farm Duck Leg Confit with organic beluga lentils/passion & peach glaze. Fantastic! The duck was crispy and the sauce was so good. The lentils were great too. Daughter had the salmon, which she enjoyed (but wanted my duck)! We had the chocolate mousse and apple tart for dessert. Both were excellent. Will definitely come again. The owners were so nice and the service was perfect.

A Wonderful New Food Affair

By elainetravels |

The best remedy for a sad love affair is a new one which is better. A Food Affair is the perfect antidote to my grief of bad owner attitude and a revolving chef in residence from my formerly favorite French bistro. I had to keep eating out until I found a better combination of food and service. Tonight I found the perfect neighborhood French bistro. Not only is the food superb, but the couple who own it are professionals who know how to be personable. This place only opened 4 months ago, but from my experience tonight, they will be here for as long as they wish to be. I started with a charred romaine salad with crispy pancetta, blue cheese, pomegranate seeds and roasted bosc pear for $8 that could have been a meal in and of itself. Great combination of flavors and lovely presentation. I chose the Boeuf Bourguignon for $18 which came with wild mushrooms, paparadelle, pearl onions, turkey bacon and carrots that was so perfectly done, I don't think I will ever go to the trouble of making it myself again. The portion was so generous that I ended up taking half of it home. Even though I was full, I still wanted to at least taste dessert, so Babette (one of the owners) suggested the 3 chocolate terrine since it would pack to go nicely if I couldn't finish it (I took half of it home). The other owner is the chef, Christian, who came out and greeted every diner, making sure everything tasted as good as it looked. This is truly a place for a friendly feast, and BYOB with no corkage means you can enjoy your meal with your favorite wine.

Best food I had in LA and best service

By Lars K |

A comfortable, quiet place, in a nice location, with excellent food and excellent service. The cook even came out to chat with the guests. And all that for a rather reasonable price.

Best Restaurant in LA

I've been hitting all the top restaurants in Beverly hills and LA. I was blown away by this place. Every single course I had was amazing. Highly recommend this place. I will be back.

The definition af a great local restaurant

By Lewis S |

When ever you see the owners of a restaurant, you know you are in good hands and A Food Affair is one of those hidden gems on Robertson, just south of Pico that you have to know about to enjoy its quality atmosphere and sumptuous food. We had family gathering with young children and they were so accommodating with their selection of what the children could eat and keeping them somewhat under control. But the service was wonderful. And the food was great. Chicken livers on toast, followed by a roasted chicken with a mélange of roasted vegetables. Everything was delicious. The rest of our table enjoyed a mushroom salad, onion soup, and a bouillabaisse. All of it delicious. Then for desert we had a Crème Brule and a apple tart that was surely home made. Its the best apple tart I have had in a restaurant!

Personal dining experience!

By RandRCalifornia |

This restaurant participates in Dine LA and what a great way to try it. I had the beef bourguignon and it was very good. Tender and flavorful. My favorite was the mushroom tart appetizer. I like things I could in no way make at home and both these dishes qualify! This is a small restaurant so a reservation is a smart idea. After our meal we had a visit from the chef! What a nice surprise. They make you feel welcome and are happy to talk about the food. They obviously take care and pride in what they do. There is street parking around the corner in the residential area at night for free. It's Dine LA right now so go give it a try!

Amazing Food on the Westside

By Luxury Lifestyle TV |

Delicious french inspired food that's a refreshing addition to the Los Angeles scene. I'm so happy we found this place! The reviews, food and menu did not disappoint. If you save room for dessert be sure to try the Lemon Tart, it's divine!

An amazing dining experience.

Every menu item we tried was absolutely delicious. The presentation was incredible. The atmosphere was wonderful. The staff was attentive and engaging.

Overrated

By Bamboo |

We made a reservation and went the restaurant last weekend at 6:30 pm. It was very quiet, about four tables including us, three including us were Asian. The appetizers were fine, but the duck leg was so disappointing! It was NOT made fresh, so dry, tastless ,and over rosted and the skin color was dark. (Please see the attached photo. ) It was the worst duck leg I have ever had in my life. It was a birthday dinner. We didn’t want to spoile it because of the duck leg, but very disappointed about the restaurant and will never return. Just wondering how on earth the restaurant got the high ratings.

Love in every bite.

By MM |

We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! Every dish we ordered was delightful as you could feel the love put in the food. The owner personally greeted us and was incredibly kind. It is always nice when the chef comes out to speak to you about the food. On the wall was a picture of him with his dad and other family members and he told us a personal story. It really adds magic when you get a personalized experience like this, its as if they share a piece of their soul with you. He emphasized their commitment to making healthy food choices, accommodating our dairy and gluten-free needs perfectly. They even offered vegan gluten-free ice cream, which was a pleasant surprise. As a lover of French cuisine, it's rare to find options that aren't heavy on cream or butter, but this place exceeded expectations. From the fish and duck to the fresh farmers market vegetables, every bite was exceptional. We can't wait to return!

THE BEST French restaurant in Los Angeles

By Ady392 |

What a gem!! This is now our favorite restaurant in Los Angeles. The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff is very friendly and informative, and the food is great!!!! Is so authentic, French high cuisine, the flavors are so perfectly balanced, the portions are perfect, the menu is very well curated and interesting, and everything is paired with outstanding wines and cocktails. 100% would recommend and go again very, very soon.

Delicious Plus

By Charlie Cooper |

Our son took us to this little French restaurant four years ago. The Bouillabaisse was truly memorable, and the Chef came out to chat with us. This time was even better. Beef bone marrow with a sauce, super-thin potato sticks, and french bread to mop it up had endless layers of flavor. The rich mushroom tourte had croissant-like puff pastry and a lovely sauce. Beef Bourguignon was a standard dish and well-executed. The golden Bouillabaisse de Marseille was still the winner. Lots of seafood, with each morsel of fish, shrimp, mussels, clam perfectly cooked. Saffron galore and fennel impart brilliant color and flavor. The waiter was personable and professional. And the Chef came out again for mutual thank-yous all around!

Hidden neighborhood gem

By RE10TIV |

I have driven past this place for years and never noticed it. (hint: signage not doing the trick) It is a pleasant interior with good lighting and a friendly vibe. Not too fancy or too casual. I wanted everything on the menu. Wine choices are plenty and delicious. Some menu items are expensive, but there are cheaper options. That said, starter, entree and glass of wine was $75. I love traditional French food, and this is it done well. I'll be back.

Best Bouillabaisse Anywhere

By BoyFromTheBurgh_517 |

I have been to Marseille many times but I was delightfully surprised to find the best bouillabaisse that I have ever eaten in LOS Angeles! Simply extraordinary. The Boeuf Bourguignon and the mushroom tourte were great but nothing compared to the bouillabaisse. Service was very pleasant and the place is comfortable and non-pretentious. I will go back!

Ambience and BYOB

By strax2015 |

Street parking outside. Brush off those parallel parking skills! We arrived a bit early for our 8pm reservation, but were promptly seated regardless in the "patio" area. When I heard it's BYOB, I couldn't kick the feeling that it's a bit odd carrying a wine bottle into a restaurant, but i got over it pretty quickly when I saw EVERYONE doing this. We were quickly presented with a menu, and picked escargot to start. BF got the infamous "bouillabaisse", while I got the foie gras as a main. The Chocolate Pot de Creme to finish. The Escargot ($12.95) came with butter parsley, green garlic sauce on top of a potato shell. This was pretty basic - nothing stood out with this, besides the presentation on a potato...but that was just ok. The Bouillabaisse ($32.50) is fish & seafood saffron broth, garlic rouille. It had wonderful flavours and went well with the bread that comes to start. That broth was MEANT for sopping up with bread (though I know some etiquette dictates otherwise). The Foie Gras ($22) was a delicate little dish, with Kumquat for sweetness, Fleur de Sel for decoration, and Brioche! The slice of foie gras was quite generous - so much so, I needed to ask for a bit more brioche to have with it! The server had no problem getting more for me. Delicious dish - very rich! Chocolate Pot de Creme ($10) was like I died and woke up in a chocolate cloud, and then ate it. It was heavenly, and silky smooth, with tons of chocolately flavour but without the heaviness. Get this. I appreciated the head chef making his way to each table too. When he came by our table, we greeted him in French, and he seemed genuinely pleased! He also addressed my small issue with the Foie Gras (there was a small patch of parchment paper stuck on the foie gras) gracefully and with class, replacing the whole dish with a brand new one. Overall, I enjoyed the meal very much. Cozy, buzzy atmosphere, and you can BYOB! Seems like the perfect place to get some great food while boozing it up a little bit.

Unforgettable experience

By Benjamin C |

I adore this place completely. It's charming and cozy, emanating a warm family atmosphere. The menu offers a plethora of enticing options, but we were particularly smitten with the fried red snapper and lamb tagine. The service was outstanding, contributing to an unforgettable experience.

Classy French bistro

By JaMaraCa |

I came here with some friends as this restaurant is great for large groups. The patio outside is used to seat large parties and it is nice to sit with friends in an unrushed, pleasant setting. Not only is the food incredible and the service top-notch, but you can also bring your own WINE. Really! basically, if everyone orders an entree you can bring as many bottles you'd like. Free corkage, too. The presentation of the food is elegant with a mix of cuteness (see photos). The entree that I loved was the beef bourguinon: tender beef with parpadelle pasta , pearl onion, red wine, wild mushroom, carrots. Lastly, and the desserts were a group fav. I suggest the chocolate pot which is rich and creamy! There is plenty of free street parking after 7.

Our host was very friendly

By Berenice M |

Our host was very friendly and treated us with respect and kindness as did the servers. The chef came out to meet us. And it was wonderful. I was very pleased that they were able to accommodate 8 of us during these trying times. Recommend the mushroom carte as an appetizer and the rib eye stake.

Divine!

By Mishky1 |

We absolutely loved this place.... From the cosy atmosphere, to the perfect service.....you should definitely look up this little gem! All the meals were exquisite and presented in style.....just divine!

Beautiful Presentations

By FrequentTraveller034 |

They are awaiting their liquor license, so there is no availability of wine, and BYOB is no longer permitted. I liked that they made this very clear when making reservations. The restaurant is quaint, albeit a bit pricey. With house made lemonade or iced tea, appetizer, main and dessert, plan on spending at least $75 each, including tip. Service was very good and the French husband/wife management team are very personable (the husband is the chef). The presentation of every item was above average (see photos of a few samples). The Beet and Prosciutto Appetizer was creative, although it could have used a bit more salt. The Grilled Romaine was not one of our favorites, but the Duck Rillette was everyone’s first choice of starters. I had hoped that there would be a bread basket, but none was forthcoming. The Beef Bourguignon was artfully presented and the quality of the beef was high; however, I had hoped for a bit more complexity/richness of flavor in the sauce. The Rib Eye Steak was done to medium rare perfection (although, again, a bit more salt would have made it a stand-out). The Bouillabaisse was good, although the sauce to my taste was a bit thin in consistency and flavor. For dessert the Hot Apple Tart was eye appealing and excellent. The Chocolate Pot de Crème was rich, skillfully prepared and presented with its accompanying whipped cream.

Great atmosphere and great food

Service was welcoming and prompt. good explanations of what were the specials and recommendations. the beef and pasta was excellent as was the crab cake. 🦀 go for the dine la 3 course menu if you have the stomach space! 😋

Hidden Parisian Gem

By AFoodieDMV |

Great hidden neighborhood gem. We flew in from the east coast and searched yelp near my sister's place and so happy we dined here. Delicious food and charming ambience. Shared the bone marrow and chicken liver - neither disappointed. The bone marrow came with a fresh arugula salad that balanced the marrow nicely. We also shared the chicken and the squash a both were just as unique and pleasing. The sangria and guava lemonade were both spot on! Service was excellent. Will def be back when I'm visiting my sister!

Friendly owner and staff!

By Desiree S |

I dined here with 5 of my friends on the 30th, since there was 6 of us, even with our reservation we had to wait a bit. During our wait the chef and owner Christian came out to greet us. We were seated in the enclosed patio with a heater nearby. A Food Affair does not have a liquor license and does not serve beer or wine, but you are welcome to bring your own with a $0 corkage fee, as long as you order an entree. The service was fantastic and very attentive. Our food came out promptly which can always be difficult with large parties. Our server recommended the spaghetti squash appetizer which was not one the menu, it tasted delicious and had a ton of cheese! I ordered the salmon which had a flavorful glaze, everyone else enjoyed their food immensely. Because we had to wait to be seated, they brought out two desserts free of charge!! Such a nice and enjoyable experience!

Nice atmosphere

By CassyLR |

The appetizers were very good. Main dishes were ok. Excellent services and atmosphere. Had good time with friends.

Delicious dining in quaint setting

By DeborahandAndy |

Another wonderful DineLA dinner- for appetizers we enjoyed the mushroom tart and the escargot on a baked potato shell with greens and lovely sauce. The duck confit and the lamb shank were both delicious with many rich flavors. The lamb shank serving was huge- so took some home. Wonderful creme brûlée and very rich "lemon tart" that was more like a foamy lemon slice on a yummy crust. Great deal for $39! Really loved the fizzy white wine "blanc limet" Excellent friendly service in a quiet intimate setting. Will visit again.

Solid Classic French Food

By JetSet1959 |

Every once in a while you crave some classic french bistro food (that is if you are a french expat) - and A Food Affair delivers! Delicious Beouf Bourguignon and foie gras and the desserts are killer. The meyers lemon pie... need I say more? Only one thing.. any self respecting french restaurant should have a bread basket - A Food Affair's only failure.

Great Experience!

By B B |

This restaurant is a great find! It resembled our dining experiences in France which we immensely enjoyed. It is a small restaurant, so make reservations. They don't serve beer or wine so bring our own. There is no corkage fee. The chef greets the guests and makes you feel welcome. We ordered the grilled romaine, brussels sprouts, french onion soup, bouillabaisse, squash appetizer and took the coconut pudding back to our hotel as we were too full to eat it after dinner. Everything was excellent. Our waiter was cute, efficient and charming. I wish we lived closer so we could enjoy it more often!

Excellent service, delicious food!

By John C |

What a great evening out with friends. The owners, Christian and Babette are hands on owners and their attention to everything is obvious. The food is delicious. All four of us enjoyed our appetizers and entrees. The mushroom tourte was amazing as were the bone marrow and duck rilettes. The escargot in a potato shell was very flavorful, but for me the potato didn't add anything to the dish. Hangar steak special with blue cheese sauce was cooked perfectly and delicious. We substituted the truffle fries for the regular fries, yum! The lamb shank and the bouillabaisse were also a big hit. Tasty desserts as well, chocolate mousse, hot cookie and Meyer lemon pie. Our server, Alex made the evening special. She was engaging, knowledgeable and answered all our questions. We chatted quite a bit with chef/owner Christian who also is responsible for the fun upbeat music. We are definitely looking forward to our next visit.

cozy

By audreyarnel |

Went for Valentine's day, reasonable price for the food and no alcohol at all, you can bring your own wine and no corkage fee. The portions are good, not too little or too much, creative dishes. the macaroon salad was yummy and interesting. Would go again

Affordable and Authentic French

By Darwin S |

Quiet hole-in-the-wall restaurant in West Los Angeles. Had the escargot and crab cakes for appetizer. Duck and sea bass for main entree. Creme brûlée and lemon tart for dessert. All moderately priced and delicious. Attentive service, good wine list, and the rustic ambiance is much appreciated.

Birthday dinner food celebration

By M S |

Absolutely delicious. Can't wait to go back. Small intimate place, the owners are friendly, old fashioned style, one receives you, one cooks for you. Everything we tasted was exquisitely prepared and presented. And nothing seems like what it is. Deconstructed and reconstructed and the flavors all melt together. The appetizers, the main courses and two desserts for the birthday girl, me. I recommend everything!

One of the hidden gems of Beverlywood

By guerodelbosque |

This little French restaurant is run by a wife and husband team. She is who you see on the front end as she interacts in a lively way with the customers. Also worth noting is that she is the sommelier. He is the chef. Together they are very warm and always happy to please. I have been there twice now and on both occasions the food was great. The french onion soup is amazing. Then also Ribeye steak and the calamari/salmon dish made for very nice dinners. Definitely worth a visit.

Wonderful restaurant!!

By StephanieL67 |

Food was great, service was great. Gem of a restaurant. Our table had rib eye steak, bouillabaisse, and salmon. All excellent. Onion soup and fries were also excellent. Chef made the point of visiting us and others at the table. Wonderful overall experience.

Go here!

By dotters |

We went to this excellent restaurant last yr and this yr., it didn't disappoint! The food is totally great, the service is on point and it was a fab experience! I had the duck (again) and my daughter the salmon. Perfection! We started with the fois grais and she had a salad. We ended with a tarte (I had the mousse last yr.) and they brought out a little plate of macarons for her birthday. Do not miss this place! It's a definite go-to for us!

Failure to deliver

By James W |

Massive failure to deliver. Took my wife for our anniversary dinner, noted as such in the reservation. We arrived only to stand there with 4 people walking around us and no one greeting us. We finally were greeted and sat at our table. 23 minutes went by before anyone came to our table, no water service, drinks service, etc. Many people walked by us, many times, including water service staff. Just as we gave up and were getting up to leave, a waitress slammed a specials board on the end of our table and said “here are the specials this evening”. My wife said we hadn’t even got water yet. We got back a snarky “I was going to take care of that”. A much better response would have been - I’m so sorry we are running behind tonight and no one came by. Could I please start you off with some Champagne on the house to celebrate your anniversary? Or anything that even resembled an apology for the fact it was 30 minutes since our arrival to the place and we still don’t even have water. We walked out and owner came after and offered to wait on us. Too late unfortunately, bad system got us to that point. We left and headed to somewhere else that could handle our anniversary celebration. Went to 208 Rodeo in Bev Hills. Had an amazing experience there. Highly recommend 208 Rodeo! Do better Food Affair!

Great creative food

By MsMeeyoukey |

Went during DineLA 2016 because I have always wanted to try their beef bourguignon. But the real surprise was their appetizer which was a tomato macaron stuffed with a basil bursts and a really tasty kale salad. It was soon yummy. The beef bourguignon was also tasty and not at all salty which is usually the case. My only complaint was that we were seated in a room at the back with some other large parties and the noise level was unbearable. There was one oarticularly loud party of girls behind us who were screaming the entire time and all the other diners were obviously bothered by their noise.

The Real Mc Coy Bouillabaisse

By World Traveler L. A |

Bravo, chef ! The bouillabaisse was everything I've expected, light, warming and full of flavor. Everything tasted so fresh. The fish was the main star of the dish and the saffron its co-star. And not to forget the Rosé wine de Provence paired with it... I was in heaven! I also enjoyed very much the rib eye prime steak with cognac peppercorn sauce and truffle oil pomme frites with a strong red Bordeaux wine. It was just perfect. Hard to believe I was in L. A.

It's adorable and cozy

By Salvador D |

I have an absolute adoration for this spot. It's adorable and cozy, emanating a welcoming family atmosphere. The menu is filled with tempting options, and we were particularly enamored with the fried red snapper and lamb tagine. The service was exceptional, and the overall experience was truly incredible.

Haut Cuisine

By Denise S |

This restaurant is such a gem. I had a vegetarian casserole with spaghetti squash that was fantastic. The menu was varied for any type diet. Servings are ample, even the appetizers. Reservations are definitely needed.

Amazing

By Nari L |

The food was phenomenal here! The time that I went, there was no corkage fee so I saw a lot of people bringing their own wine. From what I hear, it's not the case anymore. I love sitting on their patio. Everything I had here was absolutely delicious and you really can't go order anything wrong. Parking is a little hectic. I got lucky and got one of the meter parking right in front.

We love A Food Affair!

By dfl406 |

We had dinner at A Food Affair following a graduation ceremony at UCLA which ran late making us at least a half an hour late for our reservation. The staff at the restaurant could not have been more pleasant and accommodating. After a very short wait they found a table for us and we began one of the most delightful dining experiences ever. Our meals were spectacular - small plates which we loved, creative presentation and delicious offerings. The staff was also wonderful - knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. At one point the owner came to our table to welcome us and thank us for coming. He tried to engage us in French and was very patient with our very poor responses. When we are in LA again we will definitely return to A Food Affair and look forward to the opportunity.

Great food in a cozy atmosphere

By 23Feb45 |

My wife and son joined me for dinner at A Food Affair which is hidden in plain sight on Robertson Blvd. The small restaurant has an eclectic decor. No tablecloths. There are ceiling fans inside and heat lamps on the patio. My waitress, Kelly, speaks fluent french, is quick to bring water, had knows the all-French wine and meal menus like the back of her hand. Bring your own wine for $20 corkage fee. Everything we ate and drank was very good or excellent. The crab cake entrée consisted of only two cakes. The whole red snapper was more than enough for one person. The sea bass was perfectly cooked but wasn’t quite filling. For dessert, I recommend the cooked while you wait apple tart. The crème brûlée is as good as expected. Chef Christian visits all the tables to make sure everyone is happy. My check totaled $75 per person including tip so it’s not cheap. But if you like french dining, it’s worth every penny.

Uninviting.....

By Bruce P |

Had been wanting to visit a Food Affair for some time, unfortunately I won't be returning. We were greeted by the owner, Babette. She had all the graciousness of that of a broken toilet seat. Austin, our server was very efficient. The first course of escargot was bizarre to say the least-snails drowning in a pesto sauce on half of a baked potato. The following course was much better as was the final course of crème brulee.

Thought I was in France

By Bill C |

This was a real find for an after theater dinner in L.A. From the moment you walk in it is a genuine French Bistro experience. The food choices are excellent and the wine list is not over the top. The whole fish was terrific and the duck was pure French country cooking. There will definitely be a return trip to this charming place. The added bonus is the unbelievable hospitality of the owners.

Wonderful gem in the neighbourhood

By Alex D |

We discovered this little gem, while walking in our neighbourhood. The food was amazing and the service always impeccable. We ended up making this place our go to place while leaving in Beverly Hills. The owners are wonderful people. they would always make time to come to our table to talk. This place an a hidden gem.

Excellent French food

By Chingachgook |

We had a nice dinner. The place is recently enlarged and service was slow probably as a result. The wine was fine. The salad likewise. The French onion soup had some unusual tastes maybe herb or perhaps vinegar. It was not unpleasant. The sea bass was first rate as was the lamb. On the whole we were quite happy with the food and the service.

The problem is the price and the value-the value was poor.

By Smiley006 |

The food gets four stars-as it was all very good. The problem is the price and the value-the value was poor, especially considering the portion size. The portions were very small and the prices quite high. The quality of the food was excellent otherwise. We had the arugula salad ($13.25), the crab cakes ($29.95), and the special hanger steak ($39.95) dinners. At $50-$75/a person for 3 courses without beverages, it is an expensive dinner.

Authentic French

By Karen H |

This cozy little restaurant is run by a husband and wife team--she greets and waits tables and he if the chef who comes to your table in person to make sure everything is perfect. I am still dreaming of the Mushroom Torte. Yum!!

Fantastic French dinner in LA

By Raymond N |

We have been to France many times, not just Paris, Lyon but also to Provenance, Bordeaux, etc. What this restaurant offers is great French bistro food. The tastes are very genuine, classic French. We had two appetizers, 4 entrees and 3 desserts among 4 people. Every dish was fantastic. For appetizers, the escargot was not the classic style. But the sauce was excellent. For the entrees, the most spectacular were the bouillabaisse and the beef bourguignon. As for desserts, the creme caramel was one of the best I have had in recent years. We have been to many French restaurants in LA. This has now become our new favorite.

Awesome place

By hrhcerritos |

I took my high school friend from Honolulu here for dinner. It was the perfect place for catching up with a friend after 30 years. The place is small but charming and had a home good feel. The food (a little pricey) but it was worth it with the friendly service, good food and no corkage fee. I had the special of the night which was chilean sea bass. My friend had the lamb. Both were delish! Don't miss the dessert. We had the creme brulee and there was a side of white chocolate chips and nuts and it was amazing. Definitely going back and introducing friends to my newly discovered neighborhood gem. .

Best Ever!

By Julio A |

Accidental I found this restaurant....when we enter I liked the atmosphere, we were sat down for a very nice lady and we started our order. Then came the appetizer and the main dishes because the waiter asked us if we want everything together; the food looks amazing and we start to eat.....we feel a explosion of flavours in our mouth, everything was great, fresh, tasty, good quality of ingredients!!!!!😳😳😳😳😳 and the sangria and dessert ....bocato of cardinale! The chef appears in our table to ask for our food, then we ask to the waiter and we know all the family work there! It was a great night, wonderful food, friendly stuff. For sure we come back soon.....highly recommended!!!!

Romantic Dinner for two

What a delicious find! My husband and I went to the afternoon theater matinee and then to an early dinner at A Food Affair. It is a small, cozy place to have great wine and great food. The portions are small but filling. I had the flash fried red snapper (that was not small!) that was a sheer delight. The service was friendly and pleasant. Was surprised though that roasted chicken was not on menu. Highly recommend.
