My husband and I attended a private VIP event dinner at AOC for our first time ever at the restaurant (surprisingly). It was wonderful. We first met a friend for drinks in the bar, and the food/snacks/drinks and service were great. Then the event was held in the outdoor covered/shaded patio area, and it was really impressive. Must have been a group of 40, and the meal was really good. The appetizers, the entrees, the Spanish chicken for which Goin is famous, etc, all of it was excellent. The fact that we got to see a cooking lesson from Suzanne Goin and a chance to meet and speak with her was really fun, too. Service all-around was really impressive and fun. Our biggest surprise was how truly casual the atmosphere here is. It's definitely more relaxed than Lucques, which is a pretty relaxed place even on its own. We'd go back in a second. Thanks!

Yes, they're small, expensive plates, but this is West Hollywood. It's loud and boisterous, people having a great time with great food and wine. Our cheese course was amazing. And the Spanish fried chicken with romesco was really good. The black rice and faro side dish tied everything together nicely. A good find for a special night out.

The food is simple French casual fair--so fresh and delicious! There is a good selection on the menu ranging from vegies, to meats to cheeses and focaccia bread. It is always a full house so if you want a certain evening, book early! I love the pretty outdoor patio area.

Excellent place to visit if you are in the area. Great food and ambience. Try duck with hush and mushrooms, my favorite. Very highly recommended.

Nothing special at this restaurant. Fish was over cooked. Fried chicken was heavy and salty. Wine selection as decent but quite frankly overpriced. Service was friendly and good. But won’t be going back

Dined here recently for a girls' night out and we had a great visit. We ordered about two dishes per person and it was plenty to share among the group. Some of our favorites were the fried chicken (must order!) and the sea bass. Farmer's market plate and arroz negro with squid also delicious. Normally if ordering a bunch of dishes 1 or 2 is kind of a miss, but I think every single dish we had was flavorful and unique. Atmosphere of the restaurant is spot-on, busy and a bit noisy but the big corner table we had inside the restaurant (and the view of the patio) made it very relaxing. Wine list was extensive and good pours by the glass. Perhaps not intimate enough for a really special occasion, but great for a group outing.

This place is the place to go for special occasions. Service is very good, food amazing. Rich wine selection supported by high qualified employees that will suggest the best for you.

Great atmosphere and extensive menu to choose from. The meat was very tender and it was nice to be able to try out a variety. Would go back.

Really nice LA Brunch. Low key, very nice and comfortable patio. Me and hubby both had the wonderful french toast. Nice touch; one of our friend's order was a bit tardy coming out so the waiter brought a chicken and waffles on the house for the table.

Had my second lunch 🥗 here last week. Food tasty, well prepared & pricy. Terrific burger, plentiful crispy fries, nice entree salads, yummy deserts.

Had a terrific meal here. Everything really wonderful. Very good food. Very professional wait staff. Lovely atmosphere. Best meal we had in LA. If we lived in the city, I'm sure this would be one of our favorites. We were put off by two constants of LA restaurants - the huge fees for cancellations and the prices. This restaurant has the former but not the later. The cost per dish was more in line with what I'd expect. Small but decent wine list. Valet parking available.

A.O.C. In LA on recent visit was an dining experience of small plate entrees in a charming garden setting. Service was attentive and very helpful when making food choices. Great place to share interesting dishes.

Very cute restaurant and nice, sensible crowd. bar tender was friendly, port wine was good, all the small plates were delicious, and waiter's suggestion was good. Desert not A.O.C.'s forte

My niece, who lives in LA, chose this restaurant for dinner. Other than learning the restaurant has an award winning chef and offers small plates, I knew nothing about it. By the end of the evening, I had only praise for the creative, varied menu. The three of us began with the Farmer’s Plate of roasted vegetables, muhammara/chickpea purée, burrata and grilled toast, which was outstanding. Our next dish was the romaine salad with apple and lime yogurt - a knockout of flavors. While our two seafood dishes - squid with black rice and sea bass - were disappointing, the curried cauliflower was very tasty. I normally wouldn’t have dessert, but I’m glad my companions ordered the butterscotch pot de crepe and flourless chocolate torte as both were fantastic. AOC has an extensive wine list, with prices to satisfy all budgets. If I lived here, I’d definitely return to try some of the dishes I missed on this visit.

Overpriced $140 4 course meal with tiny portions fo very bad food. I was shocked given AOC's excellent reputation. Clams were bitter due to the badly burned garlic sauce, fish dishes were insipid and over cooked - I give kudos to the desserts which were actually quite good. Service was downright obnoxious, more interested in clearing tables that creating a pleasurable NYE experience.

The chef is famous, the location is perfect and the decor is above and beyond. Need I say more - ok, I will, everything is great, but the chicken (some form of spice maiden nuggets with a dipping aioli worth smothering on anything) is a must order. Sit on the patio and order away...

We were there very early at 5pm and had a good service. Do not know how that develops when the house is full and vibrant. Food was very tasty, we had the beef carpaccio (okay), the clams (very tasty!), the focaccia (amazing) and the steak (okay). Wine list could have some more lower-priced wines but was well sorted otherwise. And yes: when we made the reservation by phone the lady was extremely friendly, took her time and found a good solution!

Loved A.O.C!great place for a drink, happy hour or dinner. Warm, cozy home type feel. On a gray, rainy decidedly non SoCal day, we walked in were greeted with a warm fireplace, attentive staff and great food (fennel salad, hanger steak, etc). All good. Highly recommend.

So it is never acceptable to overcharge clients for food. If that is the premise then AOC fails to perform. Tiny plates with excessive prices and not very inventive. Farmers platter is a tiny portion of cold potatoe slices ( how much could that cost) along with a 'dab" of hummous or whatever. Ridiculous. Service is fine and waiters know their stuff. Cocktails well done. Not worth it and so many other places to go

We are visiting family who live in LA. We had a great dinner at A.O.C tonight. We were seated at the time of our reservation Our server Leah P. was knowledgeable and appropriately attentive. We ordered seven dishes for 8 people and all were excellent. We had farmers sampler, Arctic char , fried chicken, hangar steak, and the farro. All great. We will be back

The food here is creative and delicious! It is served tapas or small plate style, which was a great way to taste many of the menus offerings. The wine list and other libations list was good. It was busy, but our server/servers were all good and friendly. Would definitely recommend the restaurant and would return again in any future visits to LA.

This is a lovely place day or night, we booked ahead as it's popular. Our table was in the side garden which is idyllic. You order dishes to share and there's lots of good choices.

A fantastic meals of small plates. Each one that came out was better than the last. Wine list was excellent. My only small issue was that I didn't like my cocktail but all other areas including the service standards where fantastic.

The tables AOC seem perpetually crowded, and the din of conversation can be overwhelming upon first entering, but this popular west side tapas and wine bar proves a convivial space for couples as well as small groups. Small plates are the custom, and the selections are all flavorful — the specialty chicken is downright spectacular. Servers are happy to talk tapas newcomers through the right number of dishes to order and offer suggestions. The wine list, as to be expected, is top notch.

Loved the atmosphere! Was fun we had a group of 7 women, wine selection was great, and service was good. The food though we ordered 7 different items but not worth the cost. I went the veggie options and ordered veggies with polenta, and for the price you get a side of veggies and a huge bowl of polenta. The amount I paid was crazy for some $2 grits and a small side of asparagus and few other veggies. Felt cheated.. in comparison to the other mains. We shared a few other things and they tasted good just a bit overpriced. Don't mind paying more, just when you order a veggie as a main, make it feel like a main. The chicken and waffle was great and was recommended as the best brunch item and it was good, and we ordered most of the brunch and it was the best. Our plates were dirty, same with our wine glasses, the server just explained that the plates were old so they are harder to clean.. hope this helps!!! If you just want rose and beautiful atmosphere 5 stars.

I have been going to AOC since they were in their old location and their new home in the old "Orso" space is even better. It is warm feeling and always has a good energy while maintaining an easy atmosphere for conversation. The food seems to get better every time!

I have been to AOC on many occasions and I can confidently state that Suzanne Goin is a food genius. The food at AOC clearly reflects her creativity. The restaurant is divided into three areas; the upstairs, which is more private and subdued, the interior which is larger, louder and more social and the outside patio which is delightful. While my preference is the outside patio, I will sit anywhere to enjoy the magnificent dishes that are offered. For dinner, the roasted vegetable appetizer is spectacular and easily shared between two people. The three sisters salad is excellent and the fried chicken, while somewhat sinful, is amazing. Also, the hanger steak is pretty awesome. On their lunch menu, the bacon wrapped dates as an appetizer and any of the sandwiches they offer will not disappoint. So, whether you are an Angeleno like I am or a visitor, AOC is the quintessential LA experience. Don't miss it!

Friendly ambiance with great service. Server makes us feel like home in this tapas and wine resto. Cocktails are also delicious. Valet service if you need. Would go back for sure.

We were looking for a restaurant with outdoor seating and didn’t know much more about AOC. It’s located on 3rd street right by Cedars Sinai ....a quiet and pretty street. From the outside it looks a bit like an old English pub, and there is an outdoor courtyard that is just lovely. We ate early. The restaurant is billed as “small plates” and the portions are very generous with that in mind. We started with the Farmers Plate (very filling) that was just delicious. Following that we chose the roasted eggplant focaccia, Spanish fried chicken with chili cumin butter, and the potato gnocchi with lobster. We were quite full, choosing to take home doggie bags so we could have the butterscotch pot de creme (delicious!). It was an absolutely lovely meal.....safe, delicious, great service, and a beautiful setting. We are so glad we chose this restaurant by accident. Just a fabulous meal.

I've dined at A.O.C. a few times, but was never able to try Chef Suzanne Goin's and business partner/sommelier Caroline Styne's first LA restaurant, Lucques, now closed. They were known for their Sunday Suppers at Lucques, which became a bestselling cookbook. A.O.C. recently held a 20th Anniversary dinner Celebration of Sunday Suppers at Lucques, which I attended, on a Sunday. It was a fabulous and "star-studded" dinner, chef-wise. A.O. C. has a warm indoor dining room and an especially lovely patio, which is where I've always dined. There's another more make-shift outdoor area on the opposite side. It was used during the pandemic and maybe for large events, but was closed for this dinner. The dinner consisted of 5 courses, dishes all from the cookbook. The meal began with delicious bread from Suzanne and Caroline's Larder Baking Co. and small dishes of olives and almonds, as is Suzanne's penchant. I tried two of their non-alcoholic drinks, the Shaddock Shandy and the Viola Fizz, with the Fizz being my preference, as it was fruitier. The dishes presented were: 1) james' broccoli with burrata, pine nuts and warm anchovy vinaigrette 2) pancetta-wrapped trout with verjus, crushed grapes and fennel gratin 3) grilled squab with farro, kabocha squash, cavolo nero and pomegranate salsa 4) Portuguese-style pork and clams with chorizo and fried potatoes 5) jessica's favorite meyer lemon tart with a layer of chocolate All dishes were fab, with my faves being the broccoli, trout and squab. I recognized chef David Lentz at the next table; he's chef Suzanne's husband. I would learn through social media other chefs who attended; I recognized Elizabeth Falkner and Shirley Chung. Even on non-event days, A.O.C. is a highly recommended dining spot. I remember most fondly their Farmer's Plate with roasted veggies, muhamarra, hummus and burrata, and their "Ode to Zuni" Roasted Chicken. I'd like to try their brunch someday.

AOC offers a great rustic atmosphere when you feel like having a nice glass of wine and tapas. The wine list was robust and the fried chicken is a must-try menu item. My husband, Omid Moradshahi, ordered the skirt steak but I had to fend him off of my fried chicken. Both were incredible, but I think the fried chicken stands out a bit more. Our vegetarian friends like to accompany Omid Moradshahi and myself here since AOC has some items that appeals to their non-carnivorous palates... :). Valet parking was a nice bonus since Omid Moradshahi and I sometimes have tight lunch schedules between clients, so definitely an added bonus. Marjaneh Moradshahi

Very good service, perhaps even a bit too fast, a fireside table on a cold night and five sharing plates left us more than sufficed, in fact rather stuffed!

Dinner for five. Ordered way too much food, but every single dish was terrific. Worthy of particular mention and praise are the clams, the fingerling potatoes and the arroz negro. Dessert platter was a dark chocolate lovers dream. Friendly and relaxed service. Can’t wait I return.

Given AOC is a bit of an institution in LA, it's surprising its taken me this long to experience what many food critics consider to be one of the top 20 places to eat in LA. In some aspects, eating here is almost like going "old-times" or at least back to the 90's; ordering drinks and eating cheese along with bacon-wrapped dates. Like many eating establishments in LA today, the new world order for eateries seems to be small plates. However, while many other restaurants give you "an out" by also offering entree size dishes ... not so at AOC. I guess this is why AOC is considered a Wine Bar. Anyway, we ended up ordering 7 plates for four of us. To define the food here is a bit difficult to pin down. It's sort of a mash-up of local cuisine with a definite European influence. However one labels the food, what ends up on the table was very good, although I thought the portion size was a bit small ... only two diver scallops, saffron rice & rapini pesto for 20 dollars for a party of four. AOC does have a bar scene, along with a cozy dining room with tables & circular corner booths and then there are French doors leading to the patio. The patio has a brick decor which includes a fireplace, trees and vines. I do have to say the background noise level inside was quite loud, which made for having a conversation at a large table a bit challenging. Like almost all restaurants in the West Hollywood area, valet parking is the only way to go, or better yet, simply use services like Uber or Lyft. In the end, the prices here was fairly reasonable.

A nice place to eat with a very great ambiance, but I don't recommend this place for brunch.May be they have good tapas or dinner but it is a bit different type of food for brunch. Well, I had oven cooked egg with pea I did not like it but maybe some people they like this combination. The staff was friendly and we didn't wait that much Saturday morning for having a table.

AOC has staying power as the food is well prepared tastes good and there is a good variety of dishes to choose from

Beautiful restaurant with a cozy elegant decor. The DineLA menu was a bargain--great food, large quantities and lots of variety . Add the wine pairing for $20 and it makes for a wonderful dining experience. I was there with 2 couples and we all splint the different options It would be much more expensive during regular menu times, so if you can make it during DineLa you will not be disappointed

A.O.C. is all about small plates. There are tastes for every palate, and nice charcuterie or roasted vegetable boards. Those little plates add up, though. Don't expect to get out for under $75 a head. Have dined here several times, and service can be irregular. Sometimes they are amazing, and other times you can't get their attention.

Loved stumbling across AOC and lucky to get a booking at short notice. Lots of delicious dishes to choose for sharing. Diver scallops are amazing! If you love seafood you must offer them. And wine of course is top notch. Would definitely go again when back in LA!

My husband and I had a lovely dinner at AOC in February. We started with the Vintner’s Platter- a good variety of cheese, meat and fruit. My husband had the quail and I had the lamb chops and we enjoyed everything except for a flight of Spanish wines. Only one wine was good. We finished up with the dessert platter and took half home in a box. The service was good and the restaurant got very crowded by 7 pm. We had a reservation for 6 pm. and it was very pleasant and quiet.

We came to this restaurant after a restaurant recommended by a friend didn't serve its dinner menu even though we had made a 5pm dinner reservation. The full menu at AOC was available at 5pm and everything we ordered was delcious. The preperation of the swiss chard was particularly excellent, as was the lamb merquez. The wine selections by the glass were excellent. We were excited an hour later at the Hollywood Bowl to realize AOC has a concession there selling similiar (if not the same) wines - there we were able to have a bottle of Valdiguié at the same price as the restaurant. Looking forward to returning, hungrier, next time we are in the area.

We had a delicious dinner with our LA friends at this fantastic restaurant. Since it was a little chilly, we decided to eat inside (rather than on the patio) in one of the velvet covered round booths. It was a beautiful interior and great people watching. The food was out of this world -- creative, emphasis on plant and whole grain, locally sourced, and packed with flavor. We ordered a selection of small plates and the 1/2 roasted chicken. Each small plate easily served four of us an ample tasting. We followed the sommelier's advice on the wine and found an unusual selection that we loved (sorry, I the name escapes me). She hit it out of the park with the dessert wine, too.

This is be far one of our most favorite restaurants for an intimate date night, a small group or special occasion. The food is spectacular and the outdoor covered patio puts me in mind of being in the East Village. The service is exceptional and the host/hostess are always accommodating. They have a great Sunday brunch. There fried chicken dish is one of the best in the city. Made with a waffle crust, WOW!

We went there for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and it was more or less a very non inspiring brunch menu. I ordered the aspergus with grilled vegetables and polenta. The plate arrived full of a very liquid polenta and I had to fish the aspergus and the grilled veggies inside the polenta. Very disgusting visually speaking and not tasty at all. I don't recommand this place at all.

Went right from LAX to check this place and I was not disappointed. The food is amazing, drinks excellent and service unlike any other place I visited during my week long trip to LA. Went back the night before our departure and once again we were floored! I recommend this place as a MUST visit and will definitely be back.

Went here for a business lunch and I loved the place from the outside and all the way around. The service was amazing, the decor is absolutely beautiful. The outside terrace where we sat was lovely and great for our lunch meeting. It's on the costly side but this IS Los Angeles. I had never had GREEN Harissa so I was too excited when I saw that the turkey sandwich had an ingredient I was not familiar with. The server was excellent at explaining it to me so I went with the roast turkey, mozzarella, green harissa, avocado & castelvetranos sandwich. Perfect choice and portion. Others in the table ordered the farmers lunch (for vegans) which looked and per my coworker tasted amazing. The burger was calling out my name from someone elses dish, but I behaved! Portions are on the large side, but not enough for sharing since the food is so good. No room for dessert and they do have valet parking like most places in LA but you can park on the street if you get lucky enough like I did :) Highly recommend this place.

Of all my years of traveling and using TripAdvisor this is the most over rated restaurant we have ever eaten at. Perhaps it's because tapas is so trend Expensive, small portions of tasteless food. There must have been a secret ingredient as we barely made it home in time Awful in every way.

Ate brunch here on recent visit to LA to see kids. The interior of this restaurant is beyond charming. And the patio is pure magic. So lovely. The food was good (and pricey) and the service very attentive. The French toast was delicious. And whatever you do, don't miss the yummy blueberry bread! They brought that out first like an appetizer. We also enjoyed the bellinis. Very pleasant way to spend a Sunday morning.

Was looking forward to enjoying a nice dinner with our grown family of six. While the time we spent in AOC was enjoyable, some of us left hungry and much lighter in the wallet. The total bill was just under $600 with mixed drinks and no wine. A plate was delivered to us just before we left and we had forgotten we ordered it - fortunately it appeased some of the larger appetites who had almost given up hope. Service was not great - had a hard time locating our server to order more plates and we finally gave up as we had a show to get to. I’m guessing there are plenty of other much more worthy restaurants nearby with larger portions and smaller bills.

Great eating space, converted parking lot into outdoor dining area. Staff are fantastic and food is same high standard Felt very safe. Lots of street parking or Valet

Great food, good drinks and chill atmosphere. Gets crowded at times but it’s a good scene. Not too many places like this in LA. Good appetizer and wine menu. Occasionally see a celebrity if you’re into that.

Relaxed atmosphere and excellent food. Had the Vanilla French Toast and Chardonnay. The background music was great!

I went there with a big group, 18 people. Even so, the service was really nice, and suggested that we share a lot of plates, so that everybody could try everything, and order more. AND IT WAS AMAZING! The food was really good. The restaurant has a organic / farm vibe in their ingredients, but a cool and modern architectural premisse. The mix was really pleasant. And I thought the price was fair. I would go again, no doubt.

We had an evening flight out of LA and it was cold and raining raining. We're we seating in the heated covered courtyard and everything was perfect! So cozy and charming. The bread is thick, crunchy and perfectly toasted! Specialty cocktails are tasty and great selection of wines by the glass!

We had the Fresh Fig Focaccia (which was divine), Grilled Peaches with Burrata, etc. (heavenly), Heirloom tomato with a Avocado, etc. (also quite excellent). The only one we didn't care for was the Corn, Zucchini, etc. salad, as we found it to be a bit boring. As for desserts, I enjoyed the Coconut Flan and my friend enjoyed the Butterscotch Pot de Creme. Wait staff was friendly and professional. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and helpful. Can't wait to go there again.

Had a great dinner on the patio on 7/11 and had Joe R as our excellent server!! Thank you! had the cheeses, amazing, parpadella, artichoke and more! Great wine by the glass! 3 of us from the peninsula hotel. amazing.

This restaurant is a gem. It is in the most interesting building with the greatest decor. The service is unbelievable - not even one bit pretentious or precious. The food blew us away. We lived in NYC for 20 years, and this was one of the most memorable meals we have ever had.

Family reunion. So happy we chose AOC. The six of us crammed into a big u-shaped booth (our insistence-they wanted to seat us at a table) on we had a great meal with great service. The brunch menu was extensive and everyone raved about what they had. Eggs dishes were perfectly sized. Pancakes were outrageously huge. Salad initially came out without the chicken that was ordered, but immediately rectified. Very pleased to have selected this place.

Dinner for 3 adults and 1 child. Appetizer of focaccia, mustard greens, pistachios. Very tasty. Three entrée orders diver scallops, hangar steak, and duck breast. Dessert platter. Nice ambiance with lighting. Attentive service. All plates were excellent. Dessert platter was perfect. Child’s meal was a pizza; just the right size. Wine selection is extensive. A little pricy but it’sa tradition! Recommended

We've eaten there twice on two different trips to LA. It is just a fantastic experience, especially if you sit in the courtyard outside (covered in the winter). The place is somewhat of a "scene" (for those who like it) yet welcoming, friendly and comfortable. The food is great (a mix of Provence and California) and the staff is extremely knowledgeable and very accommodating. The wine list is comprehensive. Everything is brought family-style, but don't get fooled, it is a gourmet experience.

Wow! Now this place is simply stunning. I came for a weekday lunch and was seated in the beautiful courtyard, so peaceful. I had a vegetarian sandwich with fries and it was delicious. Also, the portion was extremely generous for a lunch. Very friendly staff. Good value for money. Highly recommended.

We had dinner for 4 here and loved everything about it! We sat outside and the atmosphere was spectacular. A very "California" experience and the cuisine was different and delicious. A bit pricey but worth it for us.

The atmosphere and decor is very nice. The service is excellent, the restaurant was having plumbing problems in the day we visited so we had to use the facilities upstairs which had no toilet paper despite our reporting it which was disappointing. The food was quite nice. The French fries are delicious. There isn’t much selection for gluten free. My Moroccan salad was ok but nothing to write home about. My daughter’s falafel burger looked very nice and I did enjoy helping my mother eat her fries. They seem to have a good cheese menu.

I think outdoor (or indoor) dining with plenty of foliage around is my favorite. It just enhances the experience greatly. There is valet available, so no need to labor over a parking spot if you need convenience. It's a lovely wine bar with very good small-plated food. Everything we had was very tasty from the Farmers Plate to the Pea Shoot Salad and also the Cauliflower. I had a tequila drink that was skillfully mixed just after we were seated. It was good, but I would probably prefer a glass of wine because I'm not the biggest fan of margaritas and the like. The wait staff was attentive and nice.

This is a nice venue, feels local, nice seating areas, there is an inside and outside feel areas. The reception is friendly and efficient. The service average. We went for the food and left disappointed, should and could have been better. I would have liked to give it 4 stars but can't, hopefully they'll rethink their offering and try to make things clearer, fresher and less complicated.

Not impressed! Waited over 45 minutes for our food and when it came it was cold. They brought my husbands sandwich back re-heated and burnt. Service very, very slow. Took drink away before finishing not - all around not good. Not my first choice and most probably won't be back. Sorry just being honest!! One good thing our waiter was lovely. (In addition they add 3% towards employee health care).

My sister and I got to LA yesterday and were really excited to try this restaurant (that we've heard great things about)! We had high expectations and this restaurant exceeded them in every way!! The server was wonderful - so friendly and helpful - not pushy and gave us lots of time (we didn't want to rush) and great recommendations! Everything we ordered was delicious - starting with the Farmers Platter, then the stone fruit salad and dates wrapped in bacon, followed by the roasted chicken and peach and nectarine cobbler. It was ALL amazing - so fresh, beautifully plated (looked out of a magazine) etc. Every wine we tried was amazing and the cappuccino at the end of the night was the PERFECT icing on the cake- one of the best I've ever had! An incredible night and we will definitely be back! Also- id recommend sitting outside - it couldn't have been more picturesque :)

Relaxed atmosphere sphere. Nice wine bar with excellent tequila and mezcal options. Great tapas. Happy hour. Courtyard seating without opening to street. Outdoor fireplace. Duck confit was our favorite.

If you are prepared to spend what I consider a lot for small portions of food ... much of it that was just average ... well, then this place is perfect for you. Lots of young folks who clearly like to try and eat at places like this. But for me, I like very tasty, substantial portions at what I consider acceptable prices. $15 for three little meatballs ... sorry ... that's not my place. $2 for bread when you are spending $15 for each drink ... sorry. There must be better in the area.

Food quality was solid. Portions are pretty small and aren’t aligned well with the prices, even for LA. Service was solid. Very pleasant staff and good with recommendations.

AOC has been our favorite restaurant in Los Angeles since they opened. On our most recent visit, we were greeted at our table by a friendly and welcoming server named Lindsey. We enjoyed a casual conversation with her and my wife mentioned that we had intended to celebrate my birthday at AOC last year but due to the Covid restrictions we were unable to. We proceeded to enjoy a most delicious dinner and as we sat back and relaxed, Lindsey arrived with a surprise dessert with a lit candle to celebrate the birthday I had missed celebrating last year! This totally blew us away! A truly great example of going above and beyond to provide guests with an evening to remember! We thank you Lindsey! You are 5-Stars all the way! Thank you AOC for having Lindsey on your team!

I had been to the old AOC years ago, Had a large brunch party (6) for a catch up session with old friends - seated in the outside area - very warm with the space heaters. Great service, great food, and they let us stay for a very long time as we were having so much fun. Highly recommend. I am such a fan of Suzanne Goin's cookbooks - everyone had a great meal (and not overly pricey at all.)

yes restaurants sometimes have bad days, and this may have been one of them. Asked a friend where to go for dinner in LA, and this was one suggestion. The reviews seemed strong and was looking forward to something interesting. Most dishes small since it was tapas, but one HUGE disappointment was papadelle with chantrelles..First the dish was small, and no chantrelles, at least that I tasted, yet I shared it with my wife and mother. the server tried to lead us to popular items, and the spanish fried chicken was a winner. great wine list fairly priced.

A restaurant with homey visuals and delicious plates. The restaurant has no real roof on one side but covered with a vinyl type open terrace roofing. The menu was fast and eclectic the food was absolutely delicious as was the bar. They create their own drinks by a bar chef who serves them. I found the resto name to be a little strange so I asked him what it means. AOC stands for ‘Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée’ (translation: Controlled Name of Origin). The chefs studied in France and so the plates are European styled. This is a great place for business family or a romantic outing. If you are in the area do you make reservations, you will not regret it.

Dinner is at AOC – D: Nightly, 8700 W. 3rd St., 310-859-9859 owned by Susan Goin who had restaurants in L.A. since it was Mexican. This is one of a string of really hot restaurants we dined in. We shared Spanish fried chicken and the Vintners Platter.

Loved everything about this place. The Spanish fried chicken was to die for. Had the pasta of the day along with the sea bass and loved both. Definitely recommend sitting outside on the patio. The service was timely and friendly and the price point was very affordable for LA/Beverly Hills.

Enjoyed a great evening with family our first night in LA. Atmosphere on the patio was very nice. Drinks very good as was the food. Our waiter Doug was super. Must try the wrapped dates.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit to AOC. We found the service pleasant and helpful. The small plates delicious and a great way to test a variety of fresh ingredients. We started with a charcuterie plate completed by some bacon wrapped parmesan dates (YUM!). Then shared a fresh summer squash salad, fried chicken and greens tapas... ending with a butterscotch desert. Everything was delicious. Only mild disappointment was the wine list --- being CA and a small plates restaurant, I expected a better variety by the glass. Believe me, nothing to make my not wish that I could go back tomorrow --- but still something to set expectations around.

My first time at AOC, and I can see why my client from Chicago made this reservation a while ago. He insisted on sharing, and I was excited to try a few things. We started with a salad - market lettuce, cucumber, beets, avocado & walnuts - so fresh and tasty! Our next courses were served at the same time: hanger steak, red wine butter & shallot rings (a bit cold in some places), the pappardelle with lobster, shell beans & smoked tomato, and a tasty vegetable dish of cauliflower, curry & red vinegar. The place was very crowded, but we were lucky enough to be seated upstairs, and then the people followed!

As usual AOC is consistent in quality and service. The food always on point. We had the farmers plate, always a hit, Brussels sprouts amazing, the halibut ways great and the cod on creamy sauce and potatoes was out of this world. The server was ama omg, friendly and professional and the atmosphere couldn’t be better. I asked to be seated upstairs which is more intimate and beautiful cellar with a balcony overseeing the patio. Perfection perfection perfection!

Enjoyed a family meal at A.O.C. The restaurant is really charming and has a lovely fireplace. I appreciated that it is not loud and you can really enjoy table conversation. Great service starting with the restaurant calling to accommodate our request for a later reservation time that was not available online. Our server was fantastic. The flow of food to the table was perfect. ! I'm not usually a fan of the small plate thing but it worked for me here. Nice menu variety. Loved the fried chicken and the sweet potatoes! Excellent wine selection and service.

Decided to have a drink and dinner at this restaurant last minute. My drink was delicious and very refreshing. The restaurant was full but was able to accommodate us on the communal table. We order a few tapas (the cod fish was really good served with Caldo Verde... for a Portuguese descendent to say that... believe me it was good). Pricey but oh well... it is Hollywood after all.

During a recent trip to LA it was suggested we go to AOC and upon arrival I was thrilled. The surroundings were beautiful and the patio seating we were offered was great. Unfortunately the food was nothing short of meh. We arrived at lunch time and I was happy that brunch was being served. I ordered an omelette which was rubbery and flavourless. The potatoes and toast accompanying were both good as was the coffee. One of our guests ordered the waffles and chicken and the waffle was ice cold. Basic bacon and eggs were just ok as was the salad another guest had. Perhaps the best meal was the roast chicken sandwich. Unfortunately the poor food ruined the great surroundings.

Very nice atmosphere. Staff were very friendly. Yummy food & drink. Was expensive. Was for a work dinner, wouldn’t of gone to such an expensive place otherwise. Seating was a little cramped.

We had brunch at the Brentwood restaurant. It has been renovated and looked terrific. We had an excellent waitress and an excellent brunch. One of their specialties is a very yummy sticky bun which you can have with bacon. This is not a low calorie establishment, but really delicious food.

It was our 2nd AOC visit. Very good food and service again. Try duck confit if you like duck. Good drinks.

Had a meal with husband and teenage son in late October, it was quite expensive, probably because they both have big appetites but the quality of the food was amazing and the service was great too. We shared the crab pasta which had a lovely flavour and texture of the breadcrumbs over the top stopped it being too rich and added another dimension, the steak was also lovely as was the chicken and the focaccia. The best dish was the accompanying rice-type/grain dish, I think it was some kind of bulgar wheat with pine nuts and raisins, it had a lovely bite to it and very interesting flavours. Great wine choice too, we had a lovely red but it was all quite pricey but you don't mind when it's high quality ingredients in nice setting. A really, really good meal and the portions are quite large for small plates. We ordered 3 main meals and two sides between three people and it was more than enough

We had a lovely table on the patio on a perfect California afternoon. Note the Restaurant is LOUD. And the service and food were slightly above average. My husband and I negotiated our our choices (since we alway share) so I ordered the moroccan chicken salad with kale, radicchio, chickpeas, charmoula, golden raisins & almonds for $21 - it had very nice flavors. But then he welched on our deal and did not order the Spanish fried chicken- because they’re chicken nuggets! 😞 He loved his a.o.c. brioche with melted gruyère, frisée, prosciutto & sunny-side up egg at $17, but I thought it was ordinary. Our friends both ordered focaccia sandwiches (one with salad and the other with fries)roast turkey, mozzarella, green harissa, avocado & castelvetrano(olives from the Italian town of this name) $18. Not a crumb left on any of the plates. We enjoyed the Rose’ flight (2 oz pours of three yummy wines) for $27. I liked the restaurant but with so many terrific restaurants nearby, I won’t be hurrying back.

The food was descent- I would say three and a half stars. The seating arrangements and attempt to pack a few more tables in caused the evening to be disappointing. And our server seemed unable to manage her tables effectively

We used to live near by, so it was our local as well, good food, wines, customer service always alert and friendly, nice atmosphere too, the trio dessert it is our favorite yummy !!

Arrived for lunch and was greeted warmly by the hostess. It was a rainy day so we wanted to sit in the interior room by the fire. Our waiter was warm and inviting as well as helpful with the menu. We ordered two main plates, Sea Bass and Shrimp Pasta to share. The Sea Bass was a salad with warm peppers and unfortunately was not very interesting, the pasta in a tomato/lobster sauce with small shrimp (over cooked) beans, cherry tomatoes and spinach. This had a very mild flavor and needed more spice/flavor. The main dining room furniture needs some TLC as does the patio. We may have not ordered well as I did see lots of sandwiches and burgers being served.

We had planned to have dinner here during a recent weekend jaunt to LA, but had to cancel thanks to a Delta equipment problem. Dropped in for lunch on Saturday instead. This is a pleasant setting - we ate at the long hightop table parallel to the bar. I had the "Farmer's Lunch" - grilled veg, hummus and a dollop of burrata. All very tasty, and service was efficient and friendly. Would rate this a "4" except for the fact that lunch for two came to $80.

A.O.C. is an upscale wine bar with an extensive and potentially expensive wine list. Most menu items are tapas portions, although there are a few larger "platters." There is plenty of food. We ordered two dishes per person, and it ended up being too much. Some of the dishes were quite rich. The black rice with squid, and arctic char were my favorites. Dishes are served family style, so sharing is "in." They warn you that dishes come out as they are prepared, so not everything is brought to the table at once, and that is fine--gives you more time to savor the wine. This place is not inexpensive, but it has great atmosphere. We ate dinner in an open terrace, with outdoor heaters (actually unnecessary on a mild evening).

I visit LA frequently and have been to AOC several times, but this was our first time in a few years. The new location is feels over designed vs the old location where the food/wine led the way. Food was still solid and the wine list is one of the best.

My husband and I are foodies!! This has the most fantastic food in a lovely location truly stunning! Beautiful courtyard, amazing service!!

Beautiful restaurant, There's an open-air courtyard behind the facade walls. Food was very good, and the setting is very relaxed. We'd return. - Jim - Red Maps

My husband and I ate here when we came down to the jewelry district. The service was fairly prompt and the food was good. I would come again.

I went here for lunch on my birthday with my boyfriend. It was delicious. The prices I feel are super reasonable for such a place. The food was delicious, and I would highly recommend.

Sit on the patio any day of the year for a pleasant outdoor dining experience. Food is good and changes frequently enough to stay interesting. The green goddess drink or mock goddess (non alcoholic version) is terrific. Staff is friendly and attentive. Keep a close eye out for a celebrity or two.

3 personen, starters gevolgd door "Romaine, Ratatouille, Brussels sprout sandwich. excellent. We dronken Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Malbec!!!! Espresso tot besluit. Food great, service perfect.

My son, husband, and I dined here on the eve of New Year's Eve and had an incredible experience. My son chose AOC because it is a wine bar and he is a wine maker in Central California. We walked in to the restaurant and I saw two Suzanne Goin cookbooks on the bar and asked if this was her restaurant - when my son replied, yes; I knew we were in for a treat! We had an incredible meal of small plates with European design using the best California ingredients. We enjoyed every bite and loved the eclectic and excellent wine list; many by the glass choices available as well as bottles! The restaurant transports you to a courtyard garden with a very European ambiance. I cannot wait to return to LA and work my way through this menu plate by plate!

We come here every year on a work trip and adore the back patio, setting, and creative and refreshing drinks and wines. Food is lovely. Service is nice if a tiny bit slow. I think this is a romantic place for a couples date or a comfy and creative place for a work lunch. Highly recommended!

This restaurant serves mostly small plates which makes it a bit more expensive than when you first look at the menu. The food was excellent. The service was terrific.

We went to A.O.C. to celebrate my husband's birthday. We made a reservation and sat outside. The patio was very relaxing and had plenty of umbrellas to shield us from the late day sun. The restaurant had a devastating kitchen fire a while back, but the restaurant is back in full swing and better than ever. Michael, our server was extremely attentive, funny and was a host of information regarding the menu. He made sure that we had everything we needed but didn't hover over us which led to a relaxing, romantic birthday dinner. Thanks, Michael. You were top notch. The bartender made a decent Moscow Mule. Not the best we've ever had, but not the worst. For starters we ordered the bacon wrapped dates which were absolutely delicious. We also ordered the charcuterie board which was very good, but paired with the cheese board would have been much better than the charcuterie alone. For the main course we ordered the lamb chops on a bed of puree of smoked eggplant, cucumber & preserved lemon labneh. The eggplant could have used a bit of salt. We also ordered the duck comfit on a bed of sautéed greens that make you want to cry out to god herself. The additional seared plus was a wonderful addition to the plate. THESE PLATES ARE SMALL! However, with the appetizers we were full by the end of the meal. If there are two of you, I suggest ordering different dishes and share them. The duck comfit was OUT OF THIS WORLD delicious. For two people, drinks, appetizers and dinner came to just under $140. It was well worth the price for the ambience, the service and the food. We are looking forward to going back

A.O.C. is quirky enough to be distinctive, small enough to be intimate, and quiet enough you can hear your dining companion speak. Oh! They also serve good food. The range of choices is limited, but the actual dishes are tasty. I usually go at lunch, so I'm not seeking something very large. The range of smallish offerings satisfies.

We came to A.O.C. for a very special dinner to honor someone who had passed years ago. The atmosphere at the restaurant is lovely. The food is absolutely delicious. What made the evening so wonderful was the service. Every person at A.O.C. was exceptionally warm and gracious to us. The bartender started the evening off perfectly. Our server could not have been more wonderful. The manager brought our wine to us, and she was just delightful. And the owner of the restaurant came over to us; she was equally wonderful. We will make A.O.C. our restaurant-of-choice on the west side. It is an especially fabulous place. I can't recommend it highly enough.

I returned here after regularly eating at the old location years ago. The food is outstanding and they now have a liquor license, making good even better. This is a great place for groups to share food.

My husband and I went for our anniversary and enjoyed a sublime meal in a great setting. Our waitress Melinda made sure that our evening was nothing less of perfect and she helped pair great wine with our choice of dishes. The food is served tapas-style and they recommend 2-3 dishes per person. We had to try as much as possible and went with 6 dishes and barely had room for cheese, but we had to try that as well. We did not regret. The cheese selection was great! The service here is impeccable and the food and wine is delicious. I would definitely come back!

Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne of AOC are also responsible for one of my favorite restaurants, Tavern, where I have been enjoying meals ever since they opened, and the famous Lucques. I would not hesitate to go eat at any place where these two talented women are at the helm. As I waited for my friend, I had a glass of the sparkling brut rosé for $12 and enjoyed the cool interior air-conditioning on a 90F+ day. One of the specials that day was a perfectly seared fish served with an addictively crisp skin, arugula, grapes, and fennel. My recommendation for anyone eating at any of their restaurants is to ALWAYS order the fish special because it never disappoints, and always restores my faith in restaurants having the ability to train and retain excellent chefs who know how to treat fresh fish with a light but expert touch. We also ordered the flaked albacore salad with raw bok choy, mizuna, and lemongrass for $24, the reedy bits of lemongrass in the salad were annoying and for the price, they should have been removed. We slightly preferred the first dish, but we would have had no hesitation ordering this dish again. Since my friend had lived in France, our dessert choice was of course a selection of cheeses. Served with walnuts, dried apricots, and of course bread, it was a fitting way to enjoy the end of a meal. As we segued to our final course, we switched to wine, and moved to the patio as the sunset :)

We are here with a bunch of co-workers in the private area upstairs and had of the great dishes discussed, but the stand-outs to be were the fried chicken and the grilled artichoke. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive, however the private area is a bit remote and a very dark setting. Tip: Ask to sit on the the patio since it looked delightful!

Pretty, California-style restaurant with shareable small plates. Came here on a Wednesday with two friends prior to the coronavirus quarantine, so I’m happy that I got to try this place before becoming socially isolated. It’s definitely on the pricey side, but the atmosphere is really nice and they do have happy hour at the communal table from 5-7. There’s valet parking otherwise you can try your luck with metered street parking along 3rd Ave. It’s a good date night spot although we did notice a few other bigger tables celebrating birthdays. Food comes out as it’s ready; we got 4 dishes for 3 people and it was a good amount, although you’ll still definitely have some room for dessert (heads up there’s a lot of different gelaterias and bakeries you could go go afterwards). Spanish fried chicken - A friend recommended this and I did enjoy it, although I think it was a bit overhyped. There was a good crunch on the chicken, but was just a smidge too salty and the sauce on the side was bland. The Farmers Plate - Not a hit; I would pass on this. The seasonal vegetables did taste fresh but I didn’t really like the taste and one of them tasted too mushy. The bread was great though! Black cod - the potato skin onion gratin underneath the best part, but the fish was soft and delicate, and the dish was quite comforting. Arroz negro, squid, and saffron - my favorite part of the meal. Very intense and deep flavors - the crunchy bit of rice at the bottom was the best part.

Last week we went there with another couple after a comedy show. Really great! Our server was very attentive and understood the food intolerances without giving us attitude. Good beers available and great wine selection. The food came fairly quickly and it was really tasty. Will definitely be back!

I've been here twice, once in March and the second time on Saturday evening. They're almost always booked up so for last minute reservations, you MAY only get time slots after 9PM. Came here for a special night out and were promptly seated at our reservation time. Asked for the upstairs (library?) since that's where I sat before and it's a very nice romantic area to have dinner, overlooking the courtyard where everyone else can eat at. They had taken the cover off the roof so it was beautiful and open-aired. They had a Dine LA menu as well for the month and our server, Alicia, let us order one set from the Dine LA menu and we supplemented it with the regular menu and also added the wine pairing as well which provided TREMENDOUS value. Everything from the oysters to the skirt steak were fantastic, the Spanish fried chicken was to die for. Service was phenomenal throughout the menu and our glasses were never left empty and plates were cleared promptly. Only critique I could possibly come up with is that the dessert menu could have more mainstream choices. Definitely one of my go-to places in Beverly Hills/Hollywood area.

$27 for a sandwich and coffee- small portions Pretentious and expense Low value Very nice space and location Good not great food- think greasy Spanish or not quite excellent French RESTAURANT: B Food quality D Value A Ambiance A Location C Staff A Scene A Decor CLEAN OR DIRTY: A Utensils C Table A Glassware

Great food and setting for a romantic evening. The plates are meant to share and everything we tried was a delight. They have a good wine selection and worked well with my allergies. The tables are a bit too close together, as the servers had a difficult time getting between them. However, I would still recommend as everything else was wonderful.

The location is very nice and the menu is particularly interesting: you can choose from different kind of tapas (meat, fish, vegetables...). I chose the sea bass and the clams tapas : both were really great ! The restaurant is slightly noisy , but the service is very good and the overall atmosphere is very friendly

Perfect restaurant for lunch, brunch and dinner with friends. Food quality and presentation was excellent without trying to be fussy or uber creative. Most dishes are made for sharing which I recommend here. Service was very attentive and friendly. Explanations for each dish was offered upon serving. Ask for a spot outside for more light or close to the fire place if you like it more cosy.

Lovely dinner in a popular restaurant. Good menu for food and wine and we liked the atmosphere. Great service and staff were friendly and happy to chat with us.

Lovely ambience in the corner courtyard. Very good service in all the bustle and excellent food. The menu is quite extensive. I enjoyed every dish on two visits.

As noted, its small plates..at big prices. For what you would get a full entre or appetizer for at most restaurants, you get half or a third as much. still, the food is very good and its fun to pick a bunch of things to try. there were 6 of us so we picked about 10 different dishes. the duck was my favorite, along with the arroz negro (love the crispy bits of rice) although everyone else loved the hanger steak. The farmers board and charcuterie board were fantastic and between the two enough for all 6 of us to have a few bites. with sharing 3 deserts, coffee and ice teas, no liquor, it ran approx $60 a person with tip and 5% worker health fee

The Spanish fried chicken and short ribs are amazing as is the faro and black rice side dish. The cauliflower with curry is ok, not great. Great menu, lots of choices for dishes to share. Desserts were tiny except for the peach cobbler. Service was excellent pricing was a bit high for the portion sizes.

This restaurant was recommended by the concierge at the SLS. He was sly on with this place! The food was unexpected and full on new flavors. I actually bought one of their cookbooks.

We had dinner here last Saturday and it was great. It was packed but the service was super with good recommendations for food and wine. We had a nice table that seemed a calm spot from which to watch the bustle around us. All of our food choices were perfectly prepared and some interesting combinations, all of which were delicious. Would highly recommend snagging a reservation.

You order tapas like plates....Most were wonderful. Love the fried chicken!!! Grilled vegetables, steak, burrata salad,....all were excellent. Wonderful ambience...good service..big wine selections...valet parking for $8. A top place for great food. Very busy...Upscale crowd...no fancy dress code.

Sat at the outdoor terrace. Loved the ambiance and the mojito :) One thing i did not like was the strange smell that breezed through a few time during our brunch. I hope that get fixed

We were a party of nine celebrating our granddaughter's graduation from USC. The wait service was excellent. We did order too much and took the whole chicken home. There was a lot of fish left over, my son mentioned that it was under-cooked and he noticed it was taken off the bill, which was extraordinary customer service. The wine by the glass was excellent. My husband and I had vodka on the rocks and the pour was very generous.

Quality of the food is consistently great in this restaurant. Staff was nice and accommodating with lowering strong AC. A place to return!

We had a party for 20 upstairs which is accessed by the stairs at the front of the building by the front door. Some of the party used the valet service. The restaurant were very organised and had drinks waiting for us before the meal started. There was a printed menu, which did not really convey what we were actually going to have to eat. The food came sporadically and in vast quantities served 'family style'.The high points for me were the pate on delicate toast. The steak was superior. The wine flowed through out the meal, our water glasses were topped up without asking. The dessert plate was small bite size chocolate things all delicious. I would highly recommend. Great service, excellent food, I suspect expensive as I was not paying.

An excellent small plate sharing venue with killer awesome dishes. Had a reservation on a Friday night at 8:15 and our party of 4 was seated promptly. Our server was very helpful in recommending dishes, Order the Spanish Chicken, it is unreal!!

Fantastic food, atmosphere and service. The menu is varied with a-la-carte breakfast and lunch options. My friend and I decided to create our own and share. Great cheeses, Jamon Serrano, Olives, Focaccia, Prosciutto wrapped figs... Delicious and spicy Bloody Mary and awesome wine selections. Valet parking available as well as street parking if you find a metered spot.

I ate at A.O.C. and do not have a strong opinion either way. The ambience was nice and the food was good, but I actually felt like I needed to get a burger and fries when I got back to my hotel room. I just wasn't satisfied when I left. I am not a big fan of family style eating for many reasons: it's hard to agree on ordering dishes when everyone has different tastes and/or allergies. Also, you never take as much food as you really want or need because then you look like a pig. I think I might have enjoyed my meal more if it was more individual-style eating. The focaccia was great, the farmer's platter, artic char and grilled artichoke were great as well. Still, I left the restaurant not starving, but not satisfied either.

This is a busy place and no wonder. Food was fresh and tasty; we had a super time. Seemed to be a young professional crowd but not exclusively. Casual atmosphere but professional cooking and service. Go and have fun!

What a great place. Small (and expensive) plates for sure, but everything is exquisite. Our party of five started with interesting and delicious specialty cocktails followed by about 15 various plates, finishing with the dessert platter. The sommelier went out of his way to find info on an unusual bottle. Service overall was great, from the hostess to the affable server. We can’t afford to come here very often, but glad we did today.

For L.A. I think it's a good place Eaten well, particular failures but good, fairly balanced without overdoing it with sauces and particular spices Accurate service

As big fans of OZ reds, we loved the Kalleske Clarry's GSM. The arctic char, arugula, crushed grapes & crème fraîche was excellent, as was the market lettuce, cucumber, beets, avocado & walnuts salad and the farro & black rice, currants & pinenuts. The honey panna cotta with blueberry compote & pear sorbet was a very good ending. Alicia B. provided great service, too. We could not have asked for a better light meal, with atmosphere and service to match. It is convenient to the Beverly Hills Four Seasons as well.

Small plates concept done right. Every dish was almost perfect. Front waitress was superb. We loved the vibe/atmosphere. Comfortable seating, nice music at the right volume for both conversation and ambiance with “life” to it. Excellent quality, fresh vegetables in the farmer’s plate with delicious burrata cheese, a very respectable muhammara, fresh herbs and high quality salt and olive oil. Everything was cooked properly (which seems so basic but is depressingly uncommon). We also had a plate of spring veggies that was spot on. When I heard the description “saffron butter” for the veggies’ sauce, I was a tad dubious (expecting something perhaps heavy, over-flavored, etc.). Boy was I wrong. Our gnocchi was pillowy soft, with a flavorful, yet light, green sauce, fresh favas and herbs. The cooking was both flavorful and restrained. You’re able to taste the actual ingredients- e.g., delicious lamb, fresh peas, carrots, herbs, etc. I enjoy punch-in-the-face flavors from Sichuan and other cuisines, and a.o.c. is here to remind me what a light touch can do for food. Tasty cocktails; solid wine rec from our server. We thought the price was an appropriate value for the experience. $12 valet parking. They’ve still got it going on at a.o.c.

Excellent Meal and service. This restaurant had many small plates with great choices. We shared a starter with roasted vegetables, hummus. Then shared hanger steak with curried cauliflower and fingerling potatoes. Dessert was great. A butterscotch pudding

I decided to book us into AOC on the back of strong reviews and a list of hottest new restaurants in LA, and on entering, was pleased to find a charming indoor outdoor space with a somewhat French vineyard undertone. We sat in the cobblestone shade-covered courtyard, warmly lit by candles and the stucco of the building itself. What didn’t fit in this picture was the music selection...indie rock? A bit weird, but let’s move on to service and food. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, but not polished in what comes and goes from a table (missing the French service protocol and rushing through simple things like bill delivery), and the tasting/tapas portions a little smallish but delicious. Steak was perfect, Arctic Char done nicely, cauliflower side the best part of dinner. Within one hour, we were done our dinner and finished with the honestly incredible berry pie hot from the oven. Love a pie in a skillet and funny enough, THIS was the biggest portion yet. Bottom line: this place has a big architectural personality that shouldn’t be ignored, so mixing in tapas and odd music with this makes for a confusing but still satisfying evening. Note to owner: ask your staff to make eye contact and smile.

This is really nice place with a solid menu. Small plates allow for a variety of different tasting opportunities. Great service with a nice decor. Seating indoors or outdoors. Try the butterscotch pudding just fantastic!

Nice quaint restaurant. Reasonable valet parking specific to the restaurant makes getting inside a breeze. The menu is small but the food is great! Small serving sizes. Salad was excellent. Service was very good!

Cute terrace with very chilled vibes. Great for dates, music is amazing - all out oldies. Plates are very small so I recommend ordering 3-4 and sharing! Loved the farmers plate, who doesn’t love hummus and burrata? The market fish was good, veggies were over salted. Prawns were also delicious. Service was super friendly, prices are high.

Nice place, modern and spacious. Service was not the greatest. Had a decent Spanish fried chicken, romesco aioli wih chili-cumin butter while my friend had an overcooked Pappardelle parmesan cream and breadcrumbs. Wine ok. Did not have desert.

Had a delightful catch up dinner with my son. Loved the ambiance of this restaurant. Our waiter was outstanding as well. The food was also excellent. I just loved the Bacon Dates. Could have had that many times over.

Upscale but casual restaurant with excellent food. We sat in the covered outside space that was open enough to enjoy the sunshine but covered enough to eliminate the street noise. A wonderful experience for sight and taste.

Well, I was in town from Texas for a business meal and had high expectations for this Suzanne Goin experience. The first miscue was the Rose Sangiovese, server recommended, which missed the mark. The bacon wrapped dates were hyped, and good, but not enough for our table of 4. 2-3 servings should have been recommended. The small plate vegetables (everything is for sharing) were fine ...but just fine. Surprisingly enough, the fried chicken was the star of the meal. I left full, mostly satisfied and somewhat underwhelmed. I'd hope for something that would make me want to return. Again, the meal was pretty good, just missed great.

Had a great brunch with my family there a couple of weeks ago One of the best burgers I have had in awhile My parents enjoyed their fish a lot The appetizer chicken was done well too The ambiance of the place and location were both very nice Would recommend the place to anyone coming to la

I always have different expectations on a Saturday night than any other night of the week. You expect the kitchen to be humming along, trying to be the most impressive since it is probably the busiest night of the week. Alas, not the case this evening. The server was great, very attentive and humorous, matching our sense of humor. The dishes are served as small plates, designed to be shared. But, when only one plate comes out and you are not sharing, then what? You don't want others to wait until what they want arrives, but you also don't want to eat without them. As a vegetarian in the group, I really enjoyed my gnocchi when it finally arrived, but ALL of us had finished eating before my wife's dish appeared. It was not inspired and just seemed to have been slapped together. We were on the top deck seating area, and so maybe it just too time to get there. One of the dishes was actually brought out after we had asked for the check! If you don't mind eating along or in dribs and drabs over time, it is OK.

I have been here a few times. Everything I have had has been great. And I like the atmosphere. Today I went for the first time for brunch. I had the duck confit with poached eggs and oh my goodness this dish was amazing.

Great casual atmosphere, super menu and if Raju is your waiter you will be entertained by his enthusiasm and professionalism.

We ate @ the sister restaurant Lucques the night before. The set up - outdoor terrace is a similar look & feel. That is where the similarity ends. The small plates, the service & the food in general were very disappointing. I would not recommend going here.

Small plate format could be better arranged to ensure that the excellent fingerling potatoes do not arrive at the end of the meal after all the fish and meat dishes have been consumed! The quality of the food, however, is good and the service friendly and efficient. A good wine list with a number of reasonably priced bottles and quite a few very expensive ones!

I went to AOC several years ago and it was great. This trip was very disappointing. The service was abysmal. Food came out a different times. A vegetable plate came ad three separate plates at different times. Food was so so.

Went with a party of 7 for my fathers birthday. We sat outside in the uncovered patio which was nice. Staff was friendly but did not appear to be very knowledgeable about the menu. Server changed mid meal and the waitress whom took over seemed more a bit personable then the first fellow whom seemed totally clueless and couldn't even offer us recommendations. Food was okay however the staff did not do a good job of explaining the dishes and just dropped them and abandoned them on the table. One of the server assistants was really the best person they had working for them, he was attentive and friendly. It want a bad experience by any means but I wouldn't return given the opportunity

First off, this is NOT fine dining or upscale. This is a good hang out I guess if you don’t mind spending $20 on mediocre food. Maybe the trick is to get really drunk so that the food will taste better! The service wasn’t great either. The waiter didn’t bother asking why our small plates were still full when I asked for the check. I guess they have a lot of business so quality control and bad service doesn’t matter. This was a real disappointment!!

Was here for Dine LA event. I shared the tapas plate. We ordered the 3 cheese platter, Spanish Fried Chicken, sea bass, and spicy focaccia sopresseta. The selection of cheese was perfect, one was from a cow (Dutch lady), sheep (camembert), and goat (?). All went well with the sourdough slices it was served with. The focaccia was delish, it was spicy, and full of flavor. The star of the night was the Spanish Fried Chicken. Great pieces of chicken fried to perfection with a sauce that complements and not over power the flavor of the meat. The sea bass served with beet type salad was also terrific. The crunchiness of the skin and the tenderness of the meal was a perfect combo. The butterscotch dessert was a great way to finish the meal. Service was very attentive though the food came out a bit slow.

We took a break from shopping to have lunch at this wonderful restaurant near the Beverly center. I had the turkey focaccia with fries and both were delicious. My partner had the Moroccan chicken salad which he raved about the rest of the day. The interiors are very comfortable and quaint. So enjoy!

Gastro but in a chilled and relaxed setting. All the food we had was excellent (though take the advice of your server: the plates really are small, so you'll need to order a decent amount). We sat in the terrace area which was perfect for a cool January LA evening. Wine selection was good too. Not the cheapest place but one that felt worth it. Great vibe, would definitely go back.

You will dine on their beautiful outdoor garden patio surrounded by lush greenery centered around a large, wood burning fireplace. The food is outstanding, whether you come for lunch or dinner. The brunch items were beyond delicious.

We have been to AOC countless times and have always thoroughly enjoy the experience... lovely atmosphere and great food and drinks. Last Friday we decided to go sit at the bar at AOC for the evening. We had a wonderful evening and enjoyed the Happy Hour. The issue came on Saturday morning when I checked my bank account and say there had been tow significant deductions made on my bank card. I checked my statement and saw they had charged my card twice... once correctly then minutes later for another amount actually more than my own bill. I called the restaurant and emailed immediately. I was told on Saturday by a Manager - Dominic this happens all the time and they would reverse the charge immediately. I also called my bank to report the extra charge and dispute. Monday came and I saw the charge still remained so I called again and was told the same information - I said I appreciate this may happen all the time BUT its not a small amount of money and I expected this to be actioned immediately. I called again two days later and spoke to another manager - a lady who apologised and said she would personally credit my card immediately and I would see the credit in a couple hours. Today is the 5th day and absolutely nothing has been done. I fear when bars / restaurants ask you for your credit card " to open a tab" you have zero control. Actually its WRONG they ask you for your card and this kind of thing happens - especially frightening when the manager tells you "this happens all the time sadly". Be careful - dont give them your card as its wrong they ask or demand this in a fine establishment as your hardly going to skip out without paying your bill. I have emailed the restaurant 3 times, I have called 3 times and today they still have not reversed the charge which they think is acceptable .. well I wonder how they would feel if somebody did skip without paying their bill for a couple of hundred dollars?? Then they would know the feeling... Poor customer service and we have been regulars at this restaurant for years... We wont be going back and I will make sure everyone knows what they actually do .... Real shame but in the end they just dont care... well I do care for a couple of hundred dollars being wrongly charged to my card and they do nothing about it for 5 days. Its wrong

AOC is a fun place - dark but cozy, always hopping! The small plates are excellent but just know, that they are small. Everything is delicious and we enjoyed the focaccia with spicy soppressata, the cauliflower, gnocci, roasted chicken (large!), za'ater lamp chops etc. etc. The service was a bit of a let down. We somehow lost our waiter and had to start asking why are plates were not coming??? Surprising for such a popular and busy restaurant. But apart from that service glitch would highly recommend if you like a place with great ambiance and tasty small plates!

Very nice tapas restaurant with some unique menu items. Even spotted a celebrity two tables over. It's definitely not a tourist trap. Great wine list. The bacon wrapped dates were amazing. The service was very good as well.

This is far most one of my favorite restaurants i'v visited in LA. To begin with I definitely love the ambiance of this place. Great rustic and chic touches with its decor. This is more of a wine bar. They are specialized in their wine and they carry quite a list. The food is more of a Tapas style. I went with the Vinter's Plate as my appetizer. I have to say the variety of cold cuts, pickled veggies and the cheese cleanses your palate and pairs with the wine I had. And if you are there you might as well try their Spanish Fried Chicken - Deep fried chicken served with romesco aïoli & chili-cumin butter. The food is great and I defiantly recommend this place to anyone looking to celebrate their birthday to take someone out on a date to catching up with your buddies. Great food scene and I must say this place is nominated as one of 25 of LA's Most Weekend Worthy Restaurants by the Venue Port. So defiantly give it a try.

Excellent family style dining menu. Amazing vibe with food that does not disappoint! I strongly recommend this place!!

The kitchen is excellent and the service also. Nice welcome and quick service. I highly recommend this restaurant
Great service and fare
Dinner was on the gorgeous outdoor patio area. The Spanish fried chicken was delicious, even if it was left in the fryer a hair too long!! The corn & zucchini and the cauliflower curry were also very good. A lot of food. Hostess a tad dismissive during check in but server was friendly and knowledgeable. Overall a nice experience.
