Get Em’ to the Greek (food)

By Amilcar Guzman |

A notch dining experience at one of the only Mediterranean restaurants in Austin. Try the short rib and the crispy potatoes! Simply amazing.

Great Atmosphere. Great Food. Great Time.

By Eat-Pray-Travel |

Such a lovely restaurant tucked back in a corridor along South Congress. This place gets super busy so make a reservation at least a day in advance. We didn't do this and waited about 1 hr and 45 mins but it was worth the wait!! The menu features authentic Mediterranean dishes. Our order was: Drinks - Hill Country Old Fashioned & Aperol Spritz Hummus - Smokey Garlic Hummus Cold Mezze - Marinated Olives & Feta Main - Tamarind Braised Short Ribs Main - Charred Grilled Lamb Chops Dessert - Frozen Greek Yogurt The food was delicious and the atmoshere felt high-end but approachable. Our server was so friendly and we loved our experience here. Great place if your on South Congress!

Excellent Medeterranean Fare - allergy friendly

By Elephantastic |

Aba is always an amazing experience. The ambiance is delightful inside and out, staff is knowledgeable, and the menu is always incredible. There is a dedicated gluten free menu, and our server always notes any additional allergies and checks with the kitchen to make sure our meal is safe and delicious.

Great Food, Great ambiance

By myesperi |

We sat on the Patio as it was first come first serve. The Patio definitely has a cool hip vibe. Almost all the food on the menu was excellent. Highly recommend the Whipped Feta spread, Ahi Tuna watermelon, Pan Roasted Halibut. The only complaint was the Grilled Skirt Steak. Was a bit chewy, Medium temperature was not the best option for this cut of meat.

SoCo delicious restaurant

By yosoynoriyuki |

This is a great restaurant to spend time with friends and family the atmosphere is nice and the food was delicious. Try the lamb and the chicken but don’t miss the Greek yoghurt dessert with lemon!! And the hummus

We never miss

By drmader |

Whipped feta …pistachio halibut, yellowtail ..and the frozen Greek yogurt w Olive oil and sea salt -yes . Great early dinner .. we usually never miss dining here , red ash and loro.. our favorites . Aba has locations in Miami and Chicago .. which we have not been to.. but it really doesn’t feel like a chain. It feels very Austin. It’s been open here about 4-5 years..we have come since it opened .

Monday Night Dinner

By Ryan_s_phipps |

So good! Great server! Beautiful! Sat outside in chilly January night, heaters made outdoor area wonderful.

Had a great experience.

By Alex |

We have been living in Austin for just over a year and finally went to Aba. Yes they are always busy and we went for a real early dinner with a reservation. But we thought the food was delicious, our server was absolutely pleasant and we had a great experience overall. Would definitely go back, not sure why the 4 terrible reviews had such a hard time with the service. You do need a reservation in most good places in Austin. So many people moved here in the past few years that the restaurant scene still needs to catch up. We moved from NYC and we have had better meals in Austin, but reservations are a must if the places are popular. So travelers be prepared.

Feta Fantasy

By Allen P |

What a fantastic Mediterranean restaurant! The outside decor is classy and relaxing but the menu is something else. The lamb wrapped in eggplant was off the chart in flavor, but the whipped feta appetizer is worth the trip by itself. It is hard to believe that the owner is not Greek as the wine menu includes some very nice wines that most people would not know about. It was so good we went back for a second night!

Aba-Licious!

By Matt H |

For those of you who have not heard of Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises, you are served notice through the opening of Aba, the group’s first entrée into the Texas market. The Mediterranean-themed restaurant is located just off South Congress in the South River section of the city. The patio, is stunning with beautiful large umbrellas, sitting areas with comfortable couches and chairs, fans for the summer and heaters in the winter/spring and a myriad of tables perfect for any lunch, dinner or brunch party. We visited Aba for a Saturday brunch and it was packed, socially distanced of course. The weather was a little cold, so in addition to heaters, Aba provided the ladies with blankets for their laps. I chose a double cappuccino to warm up and the table shared two of the favorite appetizers—Smoky Garlic Hummus, served with Aleppo and ufra peppers and preserved lemon ($12.95). If that is not your thing, they have a classic hummus and sweet potato version to tempt your palate. Our second choice was their Whipped Feta Spread ($10.95)—and for the sake our discussion this should NOT be optional in your meal. It was soooo good. For the main brunch we tried three dishes: Khachapuri (Georgian Cheese Bread) ($13.95), which is a baked egg, cremini mushroom, graviera and green onion cooked on a soft-cooked bread; the Short Rib Shakshuka ($15.95). Assuming you are not familiar with this dish it is a classic North African and Middle Eastern vegetarian dish including tomatoes, onions and spices as the base with eggs poached on top; and Kefta & Eggs ($15.95). This was my choice and included lamb and beef kefta with fried eggs, tzatziki and lemon dill rice. I mixed it all together and enjoyed all the flavors blending. We did add an order of their Crispy Potatoes ($9.95) to round out the meal. We did not opt for drinks with brunch, but there is a beautiful outside bar that serves a huge selection of hand-crafted cocktails. Service was excellent, attentive but not intrusive. Lettuce Entertainment Group went BIG for their first Texas eatery. In a state, the brags about the biggest and best of everything, Aba will fit in well.

Awful service

By Roberta C |

The service has been consistently bad our last few visits and last night was the final straw. It’s a pity as the food is good but bad service is turn off and not worth the trouble. I spoke to manager and received a polite, but highly vacuous response. We were so relieved to leave the restaurant (the delays to the food were so long that we almost felt trapped) and will not be returning, ever.

Wonderful experience!

By Charlotte H |

Went to dinner with my son, DIL, and one of my son's high school friends from 30+ years ago. The ambiance was fabulous, but the food was even better! Small plates, shareable, and done to perfection! We asked our server to choose for us (leaving out the three items we don't eat) and our dinner was stupendous! Topped off by a sweet that made our eyes roll! Please try this new spot. It will become a favorite in Austin,!

Great casual restaurant with delicious food and amazing service

By lbeylina |

We went to Aba restaurant for our wedding anniversary lunch and absolutely loved it. Everything from the exterior decor, to friendly welcoming hostess ( we had a reservation for 2 pm, but came earlier around 12 pm and even though they were supper busy they sat us at a table immediately no questions asked). The food was delicious, we had the lunch special platter as well as the lamb/beef kofta kabobs followed by a halva desert. The food is fresh and makes you want more. The cocktails from the bar were right on point as well. The waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly. We truly enjoyed eating at Aba, highly recommend it and will come back for sure!

Good spot

We came here for lunch as a large group celebrating a bachelorette. Service was great. Food was also quite good. Comfortable patio seating. Well decorated.

Father’s Day dinner

By Kevin G |

This is a must when in Austin. The menu is amazing with all different types of Mediterranean dishes. We had a great waitress who made the meal even more enjoyable. She had great recommendations and didn’t try to push anything on us.

A “raw” experience

By DadMD |

Crowded and noisy to start. Great menu and the roasted potatoes are clearly the best dish on the menu. Stick to those veggie options to share. The salmon was dry, tasty but dry. The lamb chops, though ordered medium, were raw inside; not rare. Not an inexpensive meal and maybe a place to forget.

Empower therapy

By empower therapy |

1. I could recommend Empower Therapy to anyone. I have gotten at least 10 times value from their services. They offer everything my child needs, including life skills training. Their inclusive preschool programs and social group activities have helped my kid overcome communication issues and improved his social skills.

Best Restaurant

By Anna E |

amazing humus and fresh pita! the chicken kabobs are a must and the atmosphere is so beautiful. i can not believe this is a chain

Great special occasion spot

By Skbraddock |

This was a fun, special occasion, ladies lunch spot - a little pricier than I'd normally choose & love. The atmosphere & service were great. The food was fantastic. We enjoyed the lunch dip sampler appetizer and got two kabobs to share amongst 3 adults. The chicken kabob in particular was flaky and absolutely delicious.

Aba Daba Do!

By Allen P |

Aba is one of those rare restaurants that are able to perfectly combine the food and the ambiance. Event though I just had a few appetizers, I cannot say enough about the service and the quality of everything I ate. Go!

Beautiful atmosphere

By Laurie S |

The food, service, and atmosphere were outstanding. We had to sit outside because there was a private event going on, however they accommodated extremely well, there were heaters and they provided blankets. I was never uncomfortable. I really enjoyed the yellow tail tuna and the whipped feta. It was delicious.

No more shrimp ?! What

By drmader |

Race cocktail was fun today .. but we were seated in the breezeway.. when I make a reservation, seat me under the tree please.. my very favorite dish in all of Austin is the shrimp from Aba. I adore this dish and they have gotten rid of it in the last month!! ..gosh.. I just don’t know why that would happen. I bring anyone who visits here.. of course the mezze and the kabobs and yellowtail , Greek salad.. all good..but that shrimp scampi served in an escargot type plate w breadcrumbs and butter ..it’s amazing. I may boycott for a while just for this .sorry Aba but that just not ok. Tried the crab dip..nope not even close . So I will chicken carage at Loro and panzanella salad at Red ash when they re open.. and even get shrimp scampi from North Italia and soup dumpling at Lin and Wi, oyster at Perla’s and Clarkes while I consider if I can forgive the chef at Aba .tear

Wonderful experience!

By Sharon B |

We couldn't get a reservation, so we risked walk-up, and we got a table -- they said they needed it back in an hour, so we passed that along to the server and worked together to make it happen. The food is absolutely incredible, I love the vibe of the interior, and the "sharing" process really worked for everyone in our party. Perfect meal, great night!

Happy 4th lunch ..shrimp and kebab and orzo yum

By drmader |

We never miss Aba when we are in town .. love the shrimp and yellowtail and mezze Trio ..tried lamb kebab and new tomato orzo today.. delish. Wonderful sitting outdoors before too hot ..only negative was a terrible rude inconsiderate couple w 2 poor dog citizens who barked whole time. Spoiled a perfect environment for everyone else there . Management should have reseated them or excused them …not fair to everyone else enjoying such a beautiful Time . There were 3 other dogs there who were perfect/silent . We often bring our pup to outside venues because he is well trained. Like children…well behaved dogs and littles should come along and enjoy .. poorly behaved ones should stay home so mom and dad can enjoy themselves w other adults doing the same . We all work too hard to go out and enjoy ourselves to have to endure your poor manners

Modern, buzzy venue with fab food and a great vibe

By JoozUK |

Stumbled across Aba whilst wandering solo down SoCo. I was first enticed by the pretty lights outside (!) but was also delighted when I saw the gorgeous, chic interior. Despite it being a Friday lunch time, they found me a table straight away, and service was super friendly and efficient. I ordered the chicken skewer dish and it was simply divine- as good - if not better- as any meal I’ve had in the Mediterranean. My wine was also fantastic. If I return to Austin, I will definitely go back to Aba.

Aba-solutely book in advance of your Austin visit!

By Carolyn T |

My friend had tried to book this restaurant on previous trips to Austin with others and it was always booked up and I can understand why. Our booking was for 20:30 on a Sunday evening after we had caught the bats on congress bridge. It’s in SoCo and not far from downtown. We waited at the bar for our table as we were early and were seated outside ahead of our reservation time. The menu is excellent and our server Milan P was attentive and helpful. We had the corn hummus to start and the chicken thighs and grilled halloumi dishes which were all good portions and shareable. Am delighted we did not miss the chance to dine here. I’d go again in a heartbeat and can understand why it’s so popular. Book in advance if you are headed to Austin - it’s worth the trip! As I live in UK I will just have to relive the memories and try to replicate the hummus at home!

Great Mediterranean in Austin

By Niv T |

Great Mediterranean place large and good service. Falafel are top class. The salad is fresh and the pricing is fine. I’ll come back when in Austin.

Got a last minute reservation, luckily

By The Walkers |

We got a brunch reservation, but it was so last-minute we didn't get to sit outside with all the "grammers." But the inside was still beautiful. There were 4 of us and we ordered a ton of stuff from the menu. If it was appropriate, we all would have probably licked our plates clean. Great service, fair prices, beautiful atmosphere.

Dinner and drinks with friends at the bar!

By ripgordie |

Stopped in for drinks and decided to stay for dinner. The bartenders were friendly and know their craft. We were a party of three and shared everything. The hummus and the Brussels sprouts were really tasty. I’ll definitely be back when visiting Austin.

Really cool outdoor & indoor drinks & food

By ibsf7777 |

Really cool outdoor and covered flex open air space. Fantastic cocktails with good food. Absolutely must stop here if in the area and craving a drink on a nice day.

Worth the Wait … Great Dining Experience …

By CharlieinTexas |

Ate dinner here last night with my wife. Well worth the wait of an hour, having put our name on the waiting list at 5 PM. It has taken us a year to get here, and wow, really special place and meal! Had drinks while we waited. Great people watching! Drinks were pricey, but typical Austin upscale prices really, and delicious. One of the best martinis I’ve had in years. Seated outside for dinner by a beautiful oak tree. Even though Austin is oppressively hot right now, it was pleasantly cool enough while we ate dinner. Our server, KJ, see picture, was excellent. Made excellent recommendations, was friendly and attentive, and definitely added to an altogether. Fantastic dining experience. We had the brisket hummus with crudités and gluten-free chips. I hesitate to use the word outstanding, but it’s accurate. The sashimi yellowtail was world-class. Fresh tasting with a little citrus kick Delicious and refreshing. Brussels sprouts were way up the list of best in Austin. For the entree, had the salmon kebab, which was an aA+ plus dish, nice portion of salmon, which was perfectly grilled and moist. Also had some type of cheese kebab that was grilled. The cheese was delicious in terms of the first bite, but you need to eat it while it’s still (delivery) hot or it becomes pretty ordinary. A truly great meal. This restaurant should have a higher rating in my opinion The ambience, service and, food were all top-notch. Not inexpensive, but well worth it! We will definitely be back. Soon. Thanks KJ, for a great dining experience! The underground parking is challenging, overly crowded, and $20 by the time you’re done with dinner. Don’t let that be a buzz kill, although it is an added expense.

Aba-solutely a must!

By Ashley G |

Great space, and lots of outdoor seating. We went as five ladies and had a wonderful experience sharing various plates, while sipping delicious cocktails. The service was amazing, and we enjoyed the whole experience. The whipped feta and the short rib hummus is 💯

Walked up at 3 pm a Saturday and yes got a table

By drmader |

We came looking for bar area drinks and apps .. our our names in and made it to madewell And 1 other shop before we got the text to come.. only about 20 minutes! Mojitos , spanish octopus, hamachi w grapefruit, warm naan and that scampi I dream about.. seriously-the best!! Love the lanterns in the tree, the cool Vibe..coming back w friends in 2 weeks ! Whoop whoop 🙌

Go for the food, stay for the gorgeous patios and vibes

By Marina F |

We were not expecting much given how pretty the space is. But, the food ended up being the best part. It was the best Falafel I've had in many years. Everything was to noch. Wioth some many covers/tables, I dont know how they do it. There are 3+ bars too so waiting for a table is just as nice as eating at one. A definte must eat while in Austin.

Was a must try!

By Stephanie S |

We were lucky enough to get a last minute reservation here thanks to the manager. We had this spot on our list with only a limited time in Austin. The entire place is gorgeous. The atmosphere is amazing with both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside and it was during a cold front but they have heaters and it was so cozy. Our drinks were so delicious and the food was amazing. The chicken, the lamb, the shrimp, were perfect. And our apps were so tasty! I can see why this place is so hyped up! Feels like fine dining and the prices were so reasonable.

Worst service of my life!!

By Capriqorn7 |

We dropped in a for a drink and light bites here recently. Sara at the outdoor bar was completely horrible and rude, she was the absolute worst in terms of her capacity to extend a warm welcome and communicate. The bar was also filthy with previous diners plates and glasses all over the place. I highly encourage you stay away from this place

Incredible ambiance in SOCO

By tgspecht |

This restaurant has only been open for a week. The ambience is incredible in the middle of soco. The drinks and appetizers were perfect. Highly recommend for the atmosphere.

Impressive setting, good food, and good service

By Gary T |

We visited as a family for Easter Brunch and really enjoyed our visit. We had a reservation for an outdoor table and arrived right on time. The attached parking garage is validated by the restaurant. On arrival we were promptly seated at a some what social distanced table. A little more distance would have been more comfortable. Throughout the meal they refreshed the Pita Bread so we always had hot bread for the meal. Food wise we ordered- 1) Lamb Ragu Hummus which is a small dish but really tasty, a bit spicy but not too much 2) Whipped Feta which is also small but rich and tasty 3) Hamachi, which was my favorite dish but it's really small, like 4 bites total and at $17 a poor value 4) Green Falafel which was decent for a chickpea dish, deep-fried but not greasy 5) Short Rib Shakshuka which was my wife and daughters favorite but again a small dish and at $16 a poor value 6) Creme Brulee Pie- a really good desert, it's really Creme Brulee in a pie form All told, the service was good, the food was good, the servings were small and the prices were on the high end. But, we would repeat with the lunch or dinner menu. The brunch menu is somewhat limited.

Fantastic restaurant on South Congress

By Whitehous02 |

The food is amazing with a fantastic atmosphere, both indoor and outdoor. Celebrated my birthday here with girlfriends, and everything was simply delicious. Don't miss the unique yogurt dessert!

A bit overrated

By tempest26290 |

The ambience is lovely and I enjoyed my cocktail but the food was average and definitely priced high for the amount/quality. The whipped feta was delicious but the hot honey halloumi was barely cooked and overly salty.

BETTER THAN THE BEST SELLING GROUP ABBA.

By Sarah B |

We visited here, for my Boyfriend's birthday, we were on holiday travelling from the UK. When researching where to book for restaurants, this place just kept coming up, so we booked it hoping it would live up to the hype, spoiler... it did! First impressions of the place were amazing, we were sat outside and the temperature was just perfect, we were already transported to a meddeteration vibe before we'd even ordered the food. I hope I rememberer his name correctly, but we were served by Joseph who gave us next level service, I'm not sure if this was because of my boyfriends birthday, but nevertheless, we couldn't fault him, he was so good at taking us through the menu and explaining everything, he was so much fun. We ordered the Lamb and Beef Kefta, The truffle baked orzo (A MUST!), and the whipped feta spread, paired perfectly with the fresh bread basket. We also ordered an Espresso Martini and a Carajillo, which were delicious, and were a life saver with the jet lag we had. Our server also organised a surprise little birthday cake with a candle, (we think it was the sticky date cake) which went down a treat. (a note to any soho house members, Soho House Austin is just next door for a cheeky pre-dinner cocktail!) All in all, we would love to go back, and this was such a special romantic dinner for my boyfriends birthday, worth the hype!

The Hype is REAL!

By Michelle |

I had HIGH expectations for Aba after all the hype I heard and I’m happy to say that it still blew me away with immaculate ambiance, delicious food, and stellar service! Be prepared to eat your body weight in pita bread if you order any of the hummus or spreads because once you have one bite, you can’t stop… it’s that amazing (and unlimited)! Definitely try to book a reservation pretty far in advance if you can (and consider making a second reservation while you’re at it because you’ll immediately want to come back). SERVICE - The hostesses were very welcoming and pleasant… we got a text 15 minutes before our reservation time saying our table was ready and we got seated as soon as we arrived. Morgan was a fantastic waitress… she was super personable, checked on us frequently to make sure we had what we needed, and gave her opinion on food options when we asked (we ordered the Sticky Date Cake for dessert at her recommendation and it was just as amazing as she described). PRICE - I went into this meal thinking the menu seemed a little pricey BUT after seeing the portion sizes and tasting the items we ordered, I think the price point is extremely reasonable! WHIPPED FETA (10/10) - I couldn’t help but smile after every single bite of this! It has almost a cream cheese texture but a strong feta taste and the crushed pistachio on top pairs with it perfectly! Plus, the pita bread that comes with it is bottomless and is PHENOMENAL! The seasoning on the pita bread has almost a pizza flavor and the overall thickness and texture of the bread was exactly what I love for pita. This is a must order! CRISPY SHORT RIB W/ HUMMUS (10/10) - We had heard great things about this hummus but weren’t sure if we wanted to get it in addition to the whipped feta but I’m SO glad we got both! This is my favorite hummus I’ve ever had… the sherry and beef jus smack you in the mouth with flavor and there was tons of short rib! “Crispy” is the perfect description because it was tender and easy to pull apart into small pieces but still maintained a crispy texture on the outside. Just like the whipped feta, it comes with bottomless pita bread and is a must order! LAMB & BEEF KEFTA KEBAB (5/10) - This was the one disappointment… the kefta were pretty dry and lacking flavor. Especially after taking a bite of the short rib hummus and then taking a bite of this, it was night and day. The basmati rice and veggies on the side (cucumber, tomato, and red onion) were food but nothing special. The highlight was the small side of tzatziki, but overall my mouth was pretty sad while eating this. I wouldn’t get it again. GREEN FALAFEL (7/10) - I love falafel and these had a great level of spice and seasoning. They were super crispy on the outside without being oily and the tzatziki and tahini underneath added some great flavor as well. No specific complaints, it just didn’t knock my socks off. BRUSSELS SPROUTS (8/10) - I get Brussels sprouts pretty often at restaurants and these were very good! The harissa honey added a nice sweetness but there wasn’t any heat and the almond and cashew dukkah added a nice textural element throughout. Looking at them, I expected a little more crunch… they looked crispy but were on the softer side. If these were a little more crispy and had a slight heat, I’d give them a 10/10. STICKY DATE CAKE (10/10) - I almost always go for chocolate desserts but we asked our waitress for her preference between the Sticky Date Cake and the Chocolate Chocolate Cake and she immediately replied that the Sticky Date Cake was one of her favorite desserts ever so we followed her recommendation. After taking one bite, my thoughts were “chocolate, who?”… my tastebuds were doing a big happy dance because this was INCREDIBLE! The actual texture of the date cake was perfect… caramelized and crispy on top but then soft underneath. The whipped cream on the side was super light and had a great level of sweetness while the whisky caramel sauce made me want to lick the plate clean. I will order this every time I come! It’s hard for a hyped-up restaurant to impress me but Aba nailed it from start to finish! As soon as I got home, I was looking at the brunch menu and planning my next trip!

Yum

Wonderful setting and healthy and delicious food. We will be back for sure. I love the outdoor setting in particular. Fun crowd too.

Excellent food. Menu selection is unique compared to nearby choices. Reasonable price.

If you have a special occasion don’t come here! They are so stuck with their rules and regulations and inflexible attitude that it’s maddening. I might as well be talking with an automated system.

Aba delivers

By Bittick |

Beautiful restaurant and amazing staff really set off this Mediterranean cuisine. Short rib hummus might have been the best dish I’ve had in Austin. The Spanish octopus is done right, moist and not chewy, and the drinks are full of flavor. Bravo. I’ll be back just to talk to the staff behind the bar including Kat.

Never disappoints, sat at the new bar area outside ..quiet and great service

By drmader |

Scampi not to be missed , yellowtail And the Greek salad was delish..epitome of Mediterranean diet . This is my my fave restaurant and I try to always stop in when I am here. Trying to use their online ordering system for pick up Or door dash is rubbish. Never works or they turn it off because too busy? Not sure . Regardless ..make it a point to eat here . The best

Keep looking

By Laura P |

This place is good for an Instagram post, but otherwise, skip it. Food was mediocre and drinks overpriced. Choose anywhere else and just stop and take a photo.

Good place

By Rayssa Carvalho |

Nice place to eat a great quality Mediterranean food. Unfortunately even if it still saying at the menu they serve the salad, there isn't anymore. But nothing that is gonna ruin your experience. The service is good and the prices are fair for the amount and quality.

Cool spot with good food and drinks

By KCinLG |

Super cute place, good food and drinks, and awesome service. We ordered two drinks, four shared dishes (one was an entree) and a coffee for about $100 pre tip. I wanted a drink special they had on the menu but bc they were out of an ingredient, i opted for anything with passion fruit in it, so the bartender made me a passion fruit martini. It was delish. The food was tasty. Only compliant is the beef/lamb kefta was dry and the basmati rice that accompanied the kefta didn’t look like basmati. Will need more pitas with the hummus. It comes with just one pita cut into four pieces. We had to ask for two more baskets. The crispy potatoes were my fav. Overall a good place to go to for date night or family night.

Aba Gift Cards are a scam

By Ariel S |

Do not buy a gift card from Aba. It is a scam. We were gifted a gift card that my mom purchased from Aba's website. The staff acted strange when we told them we had a gift card and suggested we purchased it from a fake discounted website, though it was purchased from Aba's website and we had multiple emails to verify. We've lived in Austin for a long time and were excited about this special experience. It ended up being very embarrassing and we were disappointed that the staff was not more accommodating or willing to help. We will not be back.

Fantastic! Top 10 in Austin IMO!

By CharlieinTexas |

Such a delightful place to dine — great vibe, friendly, knowledgeable servers, and creative, well-presented, delicious food. Thanks Dani (sp?) for making a great meal even better! Every dish — and the 5 of us had 10 or so of them — whipped feta, eggplant, garlic humus, Brussels sprouts, haloumi, cauliflower, skirt steak, chicken thighs, and a beef/lamb kabob. And two desserts — chocolate cake and cheesecake - yes please. Tasty wine and a delicious latte. Candidly, my Kettle One vodka martini was just okay. One of the top restaurants in Austin!

We Heard This Is a Great Place

By FLB |

When planning our trip to Austin, we heard that this is a great place. We were not disappointed. The place has good energy and a welcoming staff. The menu is eclectic and creative. We ordered a variety of dishes and everything was perfectly prepared and delicious. We highly recommend Aba.

Yummy!!!

We met relatives for a late lunch and we All Loved it! We ordered Brussel sprouts, shawarma spiced skirt steak, trio of hummus (whipped feta, charred eggplant and smokey garlic hummus, fennel apple and lemon salad, chicken and lamb kebabs and tried the Mcconauhaze beer and a bottle of La Fete during Rose and topped off with the frozen Greek yogurt and isot double chocolate cake. We Loved it All!!!! We will be back!!

Nice atmosphere with reliably good food and service

By HappyTummyHouston |

Returned here for an excellent family meal. Sat outside under the trees, it has an exotic eastern feel to it, really nice atmosphere. The food was great, they never miss a beat! We had Halibut, Steak and Keftas with Hummus and Olives appetizers. All were succulent and flavorful. Server Sandra M was simply delightful. All in all a great night out. Highly recommended, we will return.

By Parag B |

Terrible service, bad food. Apps were ok, we waited 30 minutes to have three entrees come out and waited another 5 for the final one. Unfortunately all of the mains had issues and the table wasn’t cleared between courses, we had to ask for the table to be cleared and got some vague explanation. The manager Andrew Aguero stopped by after that and started trying to explain why some of the plates were lukewarm or overcooked, apparently “it is difficult for them to bring out so many entrees at the same time, especially while waiting for a fat piece of fish to cook”, at which point I had to request that it was sounding preachy. At which point this person, supposedly a manager at a service establishment, said “Do you even want to eat here” after which there’s only one feasible answer. Never had such a terrible food or service experience ever. Pathetic.

Thirst trap blended Aperol spritz w yellowtail and halibut

By drmader |

One of my favorite spots anywhere .. I crave the yellowtail and shrimp scampi .. they don’t have the scampi anymore..sigh.. but we tried steak and halibut this visit-delish. Everything is always good here . I do find the employees to be stiff at times.. but our sever loosened up and was a bit more personal..as we concluded . Layer a in the tree ..just beautiful

Delicious and unique

By Caf80 |

Really delicious… lemon jam carrots, striped bass, kabobs & raw tuna all passed muster. The garlic hummus was spectacular. And every desert was worth having again. The Service was really good, very thoughtful in asking us -premptively-about food allergies and choices. Plenty of choices for vegetarians.

Great for all celebrations and general dining

By Kapil C |

We had an amazing time last evening at Aba! Celebrated our friend’s 40th birthday there and everyone greatly enjoyed. Sue, Michael, Connor and their team were awesome and fantastic hospitality from our servers Jen and Josean! We were a big group and they were very accommodating. The patio is awesome, overall ambiance too, food is delicious - especially loved the snapper ceviche, along with the grilled snapper, smoky hummus and halva for dessert. Highly recommend for general dining and special occasions. Will definitely be going back soon.

From the ambience to the service and the food, highly recommended. Did not expect the quality of the food, but I was totally impressed. Have to try the one they have in Bal Habour hopefully it’s the same service and food.

Austin Gem!

By Gina Romero |

We were looking for somewhere nice to eat and came across this gem! The food was great, and even though we are outside it was not too hot. They have fans that keep everyone cool. We had to wait a little for our table, but totally worth it!

Beautiful and tasty

This was our second try to get into this uber popular spot. My husband was already turned off because he felt they were snobby to us. It’s a gorgeous space, easy validated parking below, we sat outdoors in bar area w big tree . The food was interesting and different -Greek and Spanish and middle eastern dishes. Drinks were elevated and classy. We had hamachi app w grapefruit. It was delish. We then shared the Spanish octopus that had grapes and parsley 🌿—also delish. Then I had the black garlic prawn -wow Kind of an escargot dish with shrimp in each, warm naan on table..wonderful . My husband had chicken kebab . We left very happy with our experience and we will be back .thank you

Wonderful vegetarian options!

I stopped in & ordered take out. The bartender was great & very helpful with menu recommendations. I ordered artichoke hummus, charred eggplant and grilled halloumi & vegetable kebobs, chocolate cake and an unplugged zero proof cocktail. Everything was delicious and traveled well as take out. It is a pretty busy place, I would recommend reservations if you want to dine. The free parking along Congress was great too! I would definitely eat here again!

Great food and Great Atmosphere!

Ate here several nights ago while visiting Austin with my family. We came in fairly close to closing without a reservation. Not a problem. The hostess could not have been more welcoming. Our server was excellent and helped us navigate the menu which is essentially small meditarrean/israeli themed plates. All of her recommendations were excellent and we loved every dish. Ambience is excellent. I would highly recommend!

New Mediterranean restaurant in South Austin

By OberstA |

This new and very handsome eatery is beginning to earn its spurs. We have gone three times, the latest with another couple. The place is handsome with great outdoor seating. The menu is diverse, and service is crisp. Between us, we had beef, lamb, chicken, salad and vegetables. All high quality. Prices are moderate.

Amazing experience - great food, wonderful service, best ambiance !

Lunch

The food and the waitress service was extraordinary, but the hostess was not nice at all (3:30 pm). Make sure you arrive on time.

Extraordinary

Very good food, the Hummus, the grilled chicken, the Smokey garlic, the spicy lamb ragu or the crispy short rib to the halibut or the best for me: the diver scallops and for dessert the frozen Lemmon meringue, all this in an already Whether in the lounge or the terrace, wherever you sit you will have a great time and a delicious dinner. Highly recommended for any type of event, with family, as a couple, with friends. Very nice and highly recommended.

Delicious Lunch Delights

Aba was AMAZING! I loved the way it was situated in nature. It made the atmosphere very calm and relaxing. The food and drinks were the cherry on top. We were visiting Austin for the first time, and this was one of the establishments recommended to us. We had several starters, our entrees, and libation! Everything was fresh and delicious. I do not usually eat hummus. I did that day! I had the lamb and beef kefta kebabs and my friends had the grilled salmon kebabs. Each of us had a different drink. They were fresh and flavorful. The presentation made them even better. We ate well and enjoyed each other's company. Our server was great!
