I looked at the menu and was sold -- couldn't believe they still have reservations available on a Friday night. Come to find out it's only been open for a few months. Do yourself a favor and GO before you can't get in. The food is spectacular. Highly recommend the shrimp appetizer as well as the charred octopus. This place would be perfect to host a company event or private party. Great ambience.

There are not many vegan options on the menu but the chef made a vegan dish and kale chips for me. Fantastuc. Mouth watering. Great wine list too, great atmosphere and very friendly owners and stuff. Prices very reasonable. Great lwid back ambience, modern. Everything you need for a great night. A was with a friend but would be great for couples, families anyone.

Though there was a crowd of us there for a family/friends celebration , chief Mike at Abruzo acommodated everyone with a very relaxed service. My arctic char was delicious and all the family style plates made it easy for sharing down the table. The desserts were all outstanding. I will remember this dinner and will recommend Abrazo to friends when in San. Fran.

Four of us went for dinner and everythig was delicious. We went early on a weeknight and the service was very good. We were very gratified with the whole experience!

Wow, we ate here twice and it was so successful and delicious. Fair prices for delicious and unusual dishes. Our most delicious in San Francisco! It is highly recommended

From the meet and greet, through to the timely service and great food, what a fantastic experience. As tourists we came here on a friends recommendation and we were not disappointed. If we were staying longer we would have no hesitation in coming back.

I was going to rate this restaurant VG, then I noticed that Tripadvisor has it ranked at 1,000+ of San Francisco restaurants. No way. This must be caused by rating creep. This was our favorite restaurant - during a one week stay in SF between Christmas and New Years Day. So I'm not going to do anything to lower its ranking. We were walking up Hyde St from the pier on the way to eat dinner in Chinatown. (We like walking/hiking.) The weather was unpleasant, however, and it got dark, so we turned around and headed back toward our hotel (Argonaut). We were thrilled to find this convivial, neighborhood restaurant - which had great food.

My wife & I had dinner at Abrazo Saturday night and it was such a great experience. The service was outstanding, everyone was so friendly & accommodating David was our server & he was excellent, offering suggestions on what to order & what wine to choose. Very helpful & very pleasant. We started with the grilled octopus, which we shared. The octopus was so tender, very delicious. I would definitely order this dish again. Next we shared a Duck Salad, which was very good. All the ingredients were so fresh & the dressing was great. For our main, we shared the Paella. I love Paella & have had it a lot in various restaurants. In fact, we make it at home often, but I think the Paella at Abrazo is the best I have ever had. The flavors are so bold & rich, the rice cooked perfectly, mixed with the seafood (shrimp, squid, mussels, clams, scallops) & the sausage (which did not overpower the dish at all) was perfect. We scraped up all the rice stuck to the bottom of the pan as if we hadn't eaten in weeks. What a great experience. The restaurant has such a great atmosphere. It was crowded, but not noisy. We will be back & I can't wait.

We stumbled into Abrazo by accident. And when the main restaurant was full we were accommodated in a charming quiet room to the back. The only noise above our voices was the kitchen brigade quietly going about their business of producing exceptional dishes

It had been a while (pre-Covid) since I've walked into a restaurant and felt comfortable. Abrazo delivered that and then some. I ordered the NY Strip and it came out seasoned and grilled to perfection. Others at the table ordered appetizers and dishes that exceeded all of our expectations. We couldn't stop sharing our food. The owner/executive chef, Mike, was so welcoming and his passion for food was beyond apparent. We enjoyed the experience so much that we went back for tacos and burritos the very next day! Highly recommend. Can't wait for our next visit.

Excellent Food and Service! The ambiance is wonderful. Service was excellent too! Really enjoyed the food selections!

Small cute little tapas place. Great food good drinks. The sangria and paella were very nice. Nice safe neighborhood for the location.

A great neighborhood restaurant on Russian Hill not far from Lombard Street, just off the cable car line. Truly, one of the gem restaurants in San Francisco, serving tapas and other Spanish fare. The food is excellent and great wine list. Very good service and great atmosphere

Menu is updated seasonally. Everything is fresh and delicious. Their team was friendly and attentive - even the chef came to check on us. Highly recommend!

We were eager to try this restaurant as it is right in our neighborhood. The food was excellent and our server was friendly and efficient. The menu is not large, and prices are high, but the food was really delicious !

In today's world, it is not easy to own and operate a restaurant, at least in San Francisco. Today my wife and I brought home some delicious food from Abrazo. The salad was probably one of the best we have had in years: generous portion with peaches, prosciutto and lettuce so fresh that it seemed picked up just a few hours ago. The main dish was very savory: pork loin which was perfectly cooked with saffron rice. I have some dietary restrictions which the chef had no issue in adjusting.

Abrazo is a new restaurant that has taken over an old established (for me stale) Spanish restaurant in the Russian Hill neighborhood. The food was outstanding: the octopus and carrot appetizers well prepared. As a main dish, I had a chicken that was cooked to perfection: it came hot and it was tasty and moist. For dessert I tried the homemade pear sorbet which was beyond amazing! I wanted to take a gallon of it home! The restaurant's tables are beautiful and fortunately not on top of each other therefore easy to have a conversation. The service was very friendly and at the correct pace.

Outstanding pear sorbet, and seasonal sorbet flavors. Feels like you are living inside a gently candied pear, such a perfect texture and flavor. Excellent octopus, unique charred finish and seasoning. Beautiful dishes, fun environment good for groups or romantic date. Corner location with some outside tables (limited seating). Best Spanish food in SF, hands down.

Our daughter picked this restaurant to celebrate her achievement in school 2 weeks ago. Glad that we made a reservation since they were very busy. There were several tables with large groups and it took some time for our server to get our orders. We have been to Barcelona several times and love Spanish food. The food was good but not amazing. I was a little disappointed with my paella since it was dry and little seafood. The bread was excellent but expensive. It was a very expensive dinner and drinks for 4 people. It was a good night to celebrate since the ambiance was festive. Not sure if we’ll be back again. Also, parking is not easy and my husband parked our car several blocks from the restaurant. I would like to acknowledge the bus”woman” who was very attentive to our needs.

A very charming beautiful restaurant with unusually creative, fresh cuisine, handsomely presented. Of my wife’s and my brief restaurant tour of San Francisco with a friend who lives here, we rated Abrazo Number 1, and it had extremely stiff competition! Another friend lives in the neighborhood, who went out with us and that’s how we discovered it. Our server seemed geniunely pleased and tickled with the menu choice by each person. It’s so unusual to have such sincere kind interest in hospitality expressed so graciously. I can’t believe our friend lives in a place where he can walk to this unusually fine restaurant anytime he wants to! I highly recommend this creative light Spanish-influenced cuisine restaurant. The fish and roasted baby carrots were sublime.

We had a fabulous pre-wedding private dinner in their back room which is atmospheric and intimate. It could not have been better! The staff were so lovely, the service so perfect, the food so delicious, the wine list so fantastic, and Chef a pleasure to work with. The ricotta churros were a perfect ending! Everyone had a great time, and we all highly recommend!
Excellent Tapas
We were looking for a tapas restaurant and Abrazo exceeded our expectations. The service was wonderful, the tapas were the best we've had. We tried the patatas bravos, the bread, the charcuterie board, the croquettes and the paella. For three of us, that was a perfect amount of food. Highly recommend.
