Compared to the Kent location...

By rtravlz |

I went to the Kent Station location for the first time days before coming here, so I was curious to see what the difference was. The Seattle location was definetly smaller, but had a nice view of the space needle. The menu had different offerings. I'd say it was a little more daring than the Kent location. I had the wings and Tequitos for appetizers, which were great. The waiter was very knowledgeable and could cater to my allergy concerns as well which was much appreciated. Unfortunately the beef fajitas I ordered was underwhelming. The meat was tough, not very flavorful. Same with the onions and bell peppers. It would have been nice if they were more grilled, smoky. I always get fajitas at most Mexican restaurants but I wouldn't order it here again.

Happy hour!!!

By Foodie4Life1982 |

On a Saturday pub crawl, one of our stops was here about 15 minutes before the end of Hppy hour. We ordered the tacos and nachos and a few drinks. WHOLY CRAP THEY WERE GOOD! Definitely one of the best tacos we have ever had (and we have had a lot of tacos!) Service was awesome, drinks were good and food was incredible!! We will be back!

A very happy surprise!

By Ken W |

We have lived in Mexico and typically refuse to eat Mexican food in America. We are always disappointed. But .. the menu at Agave has some fun menu items so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant is in lower Queen Anne in a new building. There is validated parking if you circle the block and look beneath the building. The interior of the restaurant is new and quite nice, but not particularly exceptional. Service was good but once again not exceptional. And, I'd have to admit that the food was good, but .. it was apparent we were a VERY long way from Mexico. And, all of that said... we will be going back. The menu had a lot of interesting dishes and everything we had was good. The food had enough unusual flavors that it held our interest. Prices were very reasonable and the overall experience positive. The bottom line: Very good! Not the best in the world, but certainly compares with the best Mexican food in Seattle. Good food and prices, great downtown (lower queen anne next to the space needle) location, and good parking.

Pickled pink onions & grilled corn

By Elsa C. L. |

A great restaurant to dine in in the neighborhood! Nice ambience, attentive staff and pleasant fusion of tastes. Our Wild Salmon salad was served with dressing that was pre-mixed, not oily and mild. I liked the pickled pink onions and always enjoy avocado. Their Halibut special with quinoa, squash, red peppers and spinach tasted better with grilled corn kernels. We wished that the fish was not dry.

Great Food!

By lsokanoff |

My friends and I went there after the Women's March. We got our drink order quickly, but it took a while to get our food order. The place had gotten busy with marchers coming in. We finally got our food and it was delicious. I got the octopus and it was tender and incredibly tasty. The tortilla chip were fresh. Our server seemed to disappear, nobody was collecting our dirty plates and it took a long time to get the bill. This however wouldn't stop me from going back.

Terrible service

By Clare H |

Sat at the bar and it took ten minutes to get a pint of beer. The food was underwhelming and over priced for what it was. I'd be better off at a taco stand.

Magnifico!

By Claude P |

I have been to many tequila bars. This one has the BEST selection of anejo’ tequila I have ever encountered. I mean it is really outstanding. An absolute MUST for any tequila fan. If tequila isn’t your thing stay for the food. The menu is unique, very fresh and quite delicious. The bartenders and wait staff are tremendous too and happy to recommend tequila based on your personal preferences. Great location with Space Needle close by. Nice atmosphere. Not expensive. Open for lunch and dinner. Ariba!!!! Do check out this great establishment.

Lovely Setting, average food

By nemagem |

I love the ambiance and setting of Agave. it is in a decent location - right across from the Seattle Center. Some of the food on the menu is quite tasty but they don't have a wide variety when compared to other restaurants in the area that serve Mexican food. It's worth checking out perhaps for the drinks, however i wouldn't go there for a wide selection of food or small bites

An unexpected pleasure

By northstarvalerie |

We stayed at a early hotel and went in because we liked how it looked from the street--it was a warm day and they had the restaurant opened to the street. There were several things that sounded good, and I went with al pastor tacos and two sides: grilled corn and caramelized plantain. Everything was excellent but I want the plantain for breakfast, lunch, and dinner the rest of my life. The service was slow though the server was helpful and quietly friendly. I'm sorry we are just her one night as I'd like to try more.

Clever menu, fine service

By Christie B |

We stopped in for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon, the tables were about half filled. The service was present, attentive and helpful and the food was terrific. The beers were served in frosted glasses, the tortilla chips and salsa fresh. The menu includes a variety of items that made all of us happy. The fish tacos contained very nice, generous pieces of halibut and the roasted cauliflower was well presented in a fresh salad. My bell weather food at Mexican Restaurants is chicken tortilla soup and Agave serves dense tortilla soup that is flavorful but not overly hot with solid chunks of avocado. We look forward to a return visit and trying more of the menu.

Very poor experience at Agave Cocina in West Seattle

By Eric |

We tried out a new restaurant called Agave Cocina in West Seattle this evening and the experience was absolutely terrible. The Bartender was rude, made no eye contact and had to be asked many times for the check. We then moved to another area awaiting our dining table which we were told would be ready 45 minutes earlier but never came up for seating. The experience worsened substantially when one of the patrons began yelling four-letter words at one of the guests in our party because he overheard her saying something he disagreed with. The man and his partner were violently belligerent and we asked the hostess to call the Police but she just seemed flummoxed and frightened so all eight members of our party left. I have never seen a customer behave as despicable as this man and his partner did, not ever since I moved to Seattle 25 years ago. Our entire party left to go to Elliott Bay Brewery because the guest and his partner's behaviour was neither addressed or controlled by the management. Two other really negative items about this restaurant: Our table was presented with a check 20-minutes before our cocktails even arrived. Nothing had been delivered to our table when the waiter rudely slapped a bill down with no explanation or cocktails--just a bill for no product. An escalation to the Manager resulted in a nervous, half-hearted apology. I have never experienced such a lack of courtesy or professionalism since moving to Seattle over a quarter of a century ago. I cannot caution enough about how terrible our group's experience was at Agave Cocina. I would strongly recommend reading other reviews about this restaurant before attempting to visit Agave Cocina.

Business lunch

By Summerfield |

A nice selection of tequila. Service was good and fast, had fajitas for lunch. Only issue is no lunch menu, specials or sizes. Full dinner menu at lunch is heavy. The food was good and would recommend.

Good food. Good service.

By Morgan2010 |

Lady had shrimp & scallop fajitas which she thoroughly enjoyed. I had carnitas which was also very enjoyable. Good complimentary chips. Nice drink selection. Inside and outside seating. Certainly recommended.

Skip it. Expensive for bad service sub par food

By Explore09876 |

Seated. Water came. No one else. Finally host took order. Wrong tortillas. No one to find to change. Side dish teeny sour cream. Sides. Veggies like mush for fajitas. Steak chewy. Hard over cooked. Chicken way too much seasoning. Of course no server. No one checked. It was terrible. Way way overpriced. Left check. Try 21 bucks for some veggies. Beans couple tortillas. The. Poorly done. I thought must be a lot leftovers etc. steak and chicken was 31 bucks. Slow slow service. The no service for sub par food

Great Cosy Cafe Atmosphere

By horaceb136 |

The food was fresh and enjoyable, the wait staff was very friendly and interested in knowing who their visitors were.

Good location

By Joe M |

Stopped in for a business meeting, had some drinks and a quick snack. Service was very good and the drinks were tasty. Its a nice place to meet your friends after work.

Good Food, atmosphere and margaritas

By Muddychick123 |

Tried this place yesterday on a trip around town. I had the crispy halibut tacos with rice & beans and a side of jicama slaw. Everything was delicious! The prices were decent and they gave good portions. The strawberry margaritas were really good!

Nice Atmosphere

By Pat D |

Agave is a beautfully decorated restaurant. They offer a parking voucher which was a bonus as it's almost impossible to find parking around the Seattle Center The wait staff was a plus, helpful and attentive. We had the tacos and although they were good - the meal was lukewarm when served to us. The black beans were delicious. We were attending a musical at the Seattle Rep and Agave is only a block or so from the theater.

Food was really, really good.

By Leelorisc |

Food was really really good and hot. Lots of chips and two very fresh salsas to dip them in. Great margarita. Service was quick despite the fact that they were really busy.

Upscale Mexican food with panache

By Pepper |

Had a really nice meal-steak faitias were excellent quality- I have found that most Mexican restaurants in the city grill their meat to shrinkage- but these were good cuts of meat a perfect medium rare. The black beans were exceptionally good and their guacamole was excellent. This restuarant has a few replicas around the city and I have liked them all. Good service, high quality ingredients- and some really big portions- I could easily have shared my plate with my husband and still been full. He liked his dish as well- it was a seasoned fish with mango sauce-( the sauce was a bit hot to his taste) but he liked the food a lot.

Squeezing In Concert Crowd & Limes

By ScottD58 |

Bravo for squeezing in the concert crowd after the show, with baskets of chips and bowls of salsa already waiting on the table! Top off the night with a shot of Tequila from their very impressive collection. Love the Don Padilla Anejo for $13. Squeezing limes is at your discretion.

Some good flavors but mostly mediocre

By Michael M |

I waffle between 2 and 3 stars for Agave because there were some good flavors amid the generally unlikeable food. The salsas were unusually tasty (the green one is hot even for those of us used to chile), the Guavapolitan was tasty, the appetizer wings were possibly a bit over-sauced but good, and if the steak tacos were a bit dry they at least had a distinct flavor of barbecued meat. Sounds pretty good, right? Then we got to the other mains: a chicken 'crema' enchilada filled with dry and undistinguished chicken, and a pomegranate relleno flooded with a heavy cream sauce and a large quantity of scallops, a dish that had wandered so far from any known definition of a relleno as to be unrecognizable. We did in fact have trouble finding the chile in there. The overwhelming tone of the cooking that we sampled is to multiply the ingredients and ladle on too much sauce. It is an unsubtle and very heavy style of food preparation in which the original concept (wait, wasn't that thing supposed to be an enchilada?) gets lost in the over-design. It was overly rich, overly heavy and missing a real sense of its ethnic origins.

Lunch

By lchelsea |

Three different salsas are served & all are very tasty. Whenever we're in Redmond we stop here for lunch. The lunch menu has numerous selections. We've never been disappointed. Would definitely go back.

Just Average

By knoll911 |

I was not too impressed with this place. I went on a Thursday evening and it was not very crowded at all. There was no wait to be seated, however I sat at the bar. The bartender seemed like the patrons were inconveniencing her by being there. However, she did take care of providing drinks and service in a timely manner. I simply had the nachos with skirt steak and frankly it seemed as if they tossed everything on and then placed them in the microwave to get the cheese to melt. They were not very good. The second bartender that took over was friendly enough, but his service was extremely slow. If you could combine the positives of the two bartenders, you would have an excellent bartender. In the end, I will not go back here unless I am possibly looking for somewhere to have a few drinks without dealing with a crowd.

Unique Mexican - very fresh!

By Tumblinsun |

We've now visited this restaurant for lunch three times on each of our visits. We come from San Diego - known for its Mexican food - and Agave offers typical Mexican dishes, but also gives me - someone who can't eat chilis & avoids meats - many unique Mexican options to please me as well. And the men in my party loved all that they tried, more typical Mexican dishes, while I got salads and soups that were definitely Mexican, but pleased my delight in new twists to cuisine. We have made this a regular dining experience for us. Oh - it is also beautiful and modern inside, not noisy, and the service was excellent. Prices - very reasonable. It's in the central Queen Anne North area and very near to Seattle Center.

What a Great Place!!

By Michael S |

This restaurant was across the street from the Inn at Queen Anne, where I stayed. A very nicely decorated place on the corner, with outdoor seating along both sidewalks. The food was delicious, the drinks outstanding and the atmosphere very friendly. I especially appreciated the service I received from Jenny and Betsi, on the two occasions I ate there, one being the World Cup Final! They helped make my experience memorable and my vacation enjoyable.

VERY impressive Tequila list

By Claude P |

Nice open location. Super friendly staff. Good food too, but what sets this place apart is the incredible Tequila list. Try the Pueblo Veijo Anejo Orgullo. Hard to find and absolutely supremo! Great place. Try it

Dinner favorite near Seattle center

By gwendolyn214 |

This is a great place to eat, very near all the venues at Seattle center, the food is modern Mexican with lots of vegetarian choices. Make a reservation if you need to make an opening. The 2 sides for 4$ is great to add in, I love the jicama slaw.

Light dinner very good

By restats |

We have been here for Happy Hour and had several of their small dishes. This time we went for a light dinner. You can choose whatever looks good to you and you will not be disappointed. It is not fine food, just exactly what you expect with great ingredients and decent size portions. All reasonably priced.

Great Tequila Bar and Restaurant

By Michael C |

I can’t say enough good things about Agave. The selection of tequilas is unbelievable, the food is good and the staff is nice. If you like tequila and are fortunate enough to have Angel working as the bartender you are in for a treat. His knowledge of tequila is unmatched and he has introduced me to many a good tequila. Angel is truly one of the kindest and most conscientious bartenders I’ve ever met. The tequila flights are good. I especially like Reposado #3. The pineapple ceviche and the quesadilla appetizers are very good. Agave can get busy at times given the proximity to Seattle Center so if that is the case expect to wait a bit (that’s the case anywhere, right?) but the waitstaff does their very best.

Good Food

By brhaus |

After being shut out of some trendy restaurants near the Seattle Center, we fell into Agave at prime brunch time. We had a time constraint and they were able to get us out in an hour per our request. Our food was very good in quality and freshness and beautifully presented. Wait staff was quite competent. Pretty interior. Excellent choice for a quick light bite.

Margaritas are delicious

By Natalia A |

We went there for dinner right before a concert at Key Arena. Great margaritas, but not impressed by the food. I have ordered a salmon with some mango sos, it was ok , salmon wasn't tasting right.

Refined Mexican bar/restaurant

By Greg W |

Found the Scratch margarita to be very good and very generous for the money. I had carnitas tacos which had a unique salsa instead of standard guacamole and my wife had chicken enchiladas with a very tasty cream sauce. Great place to get a bite before events at Climate Pledge Arena just next door.

Delicious and unique!

By Jill |

Not your average Mexican restaurant. The menu was creative and unique and delicious! It was a quick walk from the Space Needle area.

Amazing Margaritas & Food

By Diana H |

This is the newest Agave Cocina location in Queen Anne and it is incredibly beautiful. Step in and enjoy stunning interior decor and a well appointed bar where they make the very best margaritas to be found and have an extensive tequila list. Great food, outdoor seating is available and close by parking garage make this an easy place to visit frequently. We are fans of the Issaquah location and were not disappointed by owner Fredericos' new venture and will now be regulars here. The food is updated Mexican fare priced well and very tasty. A must dine when in the area and drive from the Eastside for a new and exciting Agave.

Great Food especially before an event

By 10ellenp |

Agave Cocina is almost next door to the Key Arena. They have great food, and great service. The staff is helpful in accommodating allergies, and the menu and specials give you a lot of choices. Reservations are needed if you are going to a big event, but the bar is always open seating. The restaurant can be noisy, but you can sit outside (also noisy) or in a corner in the back if you can get that table. There does seem to be a little problem with their reservation system, but the staff has always made room for us even if the number of people are wrong......

Uninspiring

By DiscoDave911 |

A restaurant with a decent setting and atmosphere but very ordinary food. Good range of beers and cocktails but cuisine just does n't inspire - really quite disappointing.

Great food

By Thomas M |

Super good mexican food quality and service. They have a good variation of drinks and a cozy place to eat and drink - also in the evening. Pricelevel is resonable. They have seating outside. Not too much noice from trafic. I like the place.

Service, food ?????

By Valerie D |

The fish tacos (halibut not even just cod) were the worst fish tacos I have ever had anywhere. The halibut was like it had been taken out of a halibut jerky pouch that had expired. Cold, tasteless and dry. It took us 35 min to even get waited on. And it wasn't busy at all. Maybe I just had a bad experience.

City Visitor

By Sandi S |

Absolutely loved this place! I ate dinner on a Sunday evening solo as I was in the city for a work meeting the next day. It was a short walk from my hotel. I ordered the halibut tacos with sides of the creamy corn and the cilantro- jicama slaw! It was delicious! Lots of bold, fresh flavors. Modern, Mexican cuisine. I felt it was a good value for the $$. Would recommend it.

Great Mexican Food

By Judy G |

We discovered this restaurant while photographing the Museum of Pop Culture and found it quite good. While the chips weren’t the best we’ve had my flat iron steak salad was scrumptious! Fresh greens, steak cooked just right, and a very light dressing. My husband had chicken enchiladas in a cream sauce with beans and rice and very much enjoyed it. I had the special blackberry monitor which was very refreshing. I’d certainly recommend it.

So-So Service

By RJ+M4 |

Stopped in for an appie and cocktails on the way by. Upbeat restaurant was full granted, due to a function at the 'Centre', but this shouldn't have affected the service which was slow and unattentive. The Masa Crusted Calamari was soggy and the bacon wrapped jalapeños looked like they had been pre-made and been sitting for awhile. Tequila selection was good. Hit and miss place.

Great food and service

By Shane C |

The appetizers and main courses were great. Pomegranate Chili Rellano with skirt steak was excellent. Drinks were also really good. I would definitely come back.

I see why Agave is so popular

By NWroamer11 |

The setting is noisy, like most Mexican restaurants. This one seems to have TVs turned to sports games too, to add to the commotion. But other than finding it noisy, it's very good food. I had an excellent, generous steak salad. My husband had enchilladas (his standard order) and he lapped it up. I would order my salad every time. Perfectly cooked rare steak. Service was very goood. We were on our way to a play, and the timing was great.

Good food and service

By hcgrider |

The food is delicious. Definitely try the agave burrito. Violet has been my waitress multiple times. She remembers me and is very friendly and attentive!

Friendly staff & great environment

By Katrina V |

The nachos are the best I have ever had. I would recommend going on a Tuesday when all of the tequilas are half off! YES! HALF OFF! There are over 100 different tequilas offered, so it is quite the deal.

Great selection of Tequilas

By Luisa T |

I came here with friends during Seattle Resto Week. Although the Restaurant Week menu was a little weak (no tacos?!), each course was paired with a tequila, which was very much worth the value. The food was quite delicious as well, and the service was great. Would definitely return to this place.

Okay Food Okay Space

By Mary S |

My friend and I had Sunday brunch here in October 2015. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful. We sat outside. The service was tortouously slow. It was not crowded. The food was nothing remarkable and pricey.

Good variety and cuisine

By Stephen A |

Creative cuisine options well prepared at reasonable prices. Attentive service added to the experience. Sat at a table next to open air patio making the experience even more pleasant.

Excellent Drinks! Amazing Happy Hour!

By thomas p |

Went to Agave the other night with a group of friends before an I-max movie. The happy hour was excellent, especially the tacos! We had beers and a few margaritas that were delicious. The service was very friendly and helpful. Plus, the owner came by and said hello! Major points in my book. I am coming back for sure :)

Rudest place ever

By sailhersue |

The manager on a busy night refused to seat me at a table for two because my entire party wasn't there. I asked where he would seat me if I was alone and it was at the same table. That does not make sense... so on a rainy night busy with traffic if you are alone don't go there, you will be banished to the bar....or just not seated at all...

Could have been much better

By Laura M |

The restaurant has two sections, the back section feels isolated and forgotten. The food was decent - one very good entree: carnitas sandwich and one fairly unappetizing: tacos chicken tinga - very bland. The staff moved us from our table after we'd been seated because they needed the table. Bad form. No comp. The margarita was watery. Has a great location and much potential, but for now, skip it.

Our first time and we loved it

By R Warren L |

We had a pretheater meal for our first visit to Agave. It was really nice. Ordered the speciality drink of the day and shared an order of tacos and a chilli Relleno . All the food was superb and well above the typical mexican restaurant. They are opening a companion restaurant in West Seattle about 3 blocks from us and we are very excited.

Tortillas and service

By hashga1 |

First time to this lovely restaurant with its own, inside fountain and stars! The complimentary tortilla chips were the best I've ever had and the tastiness showed up in the tortillas that held the wonderful duck tacos. The enchiladas and tortilla soup got raves from my companions, along with Negro Modelo on tap. To top it off, the restaurant was able to charge my cell phone, which we needed in order to access our movie tickets. Smaller margaritas and smaller size draft options would be nice, but definitely will return in the future.

Beautiful Spot for An Excellent Mexican Meal

By Mark B |

My wife and I dined in this spot on a busy Friday evening and were pleased with the excellent service and meals that were prepared. I had the Chicken Quesadillas and Chicken Tortilla Soup, my wife dined on the Mango Chutney Salmon. She did have the mango chutney sauce on the side and for her tastes worked out very well. Dinner was accompanied by beer and a J. Lhor Chardonnay, both reasonably priced. The ambiance was pleasant and we were fortunate enough to have a table with large open windows to enjoy the coolness of the evening. Service was excellent - thanks Violet. Price was very reasonable.

Close To Seattle Center!

By misopiso88 |

If you are looking for a place near Seattle Center to grab dinner, Agave is a good option. Plenty of tables if you have a big crowd.

Solid choice for mexican food

By myklrl |

This is a solid choice with some very flavorful dishes. Everything from the chips & salsa to the drinks to the entrees is really great. They lose a point for having a rather bland atmosphere, and for some inconsistent service (appetizer came out AFTER the entrees?!) but overall a good place for some delicious food.

Good and fast service

By Katherine R |

Service was excellent. Halibut fried tacos were very good. Quesadillas had a sauce which we didn't like. Salmon was excellent.

Very good Happy Hour

By oregon64 |

We enjoyed Happy Hour at the Agave Cocina & Tequillas. This opened several months ago in West Seattle (not the one located on Republican Street). The service was excellent and very personable as we were seated right away and had a chance to talk with several of the staff. The place really hummed along and had a good crowd. (Not terribly noisy so conversations were easy.) We ordered the Cauliflower Salad, Taquito, Short Rib Tacos, Calamari and the house red wine. The food came out quickly and was hot, fresh and well-prepared. Good place to try and we'll return. They have a nice looking brunch we plan to try. Prices are very reasonable.

Close to Seattle Center

By Kinda Invisible |

Easily accessible from the Seattle Center it was a short walk from a production we had just attended. Kudos for that. The hostess seemed flustered with three parties to deal with but since we had reservations we were seated rather quickly. The tables are small and crammed together. Our area had a water feature in the center of it and there was no room to maneuver around it so making a trip to the restroom was an adventure. The menus are too large for the table and wouldn't stay open (awkward). Service was slow, forgetful, and confused (the checks were messed up but we paid them as is because we didn't want to wait for someone to figure it out). The food was spicy! We ordered different items and each one of us were surprised at the heat. However, it really was good. Halibut tacos were a favorite.

Cilantro Jalapeño Margarita - to die for!

By Venture758886 |

Really enjoyed our dinner at Agave Cocina and Tequila. The food was excellent. We split the Al Pastor pork nachos - delicious! We especially loved the Cilantro Jalapeño margarita. I'll be craving that for awhile 😋. The service was great and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Hope to return someday for that margarita!

Top rate and inexpensiv

By Roving_Bill |

I was delighted by this random-choice (as in, I had to go somewhere) that turned out to be very good A really friendly restaurant with frankly great food. Clean, fresh and a pleasant ambience married to excellent food at average prices. Not haute cuisine but well made, well presented and damn good to eat!

Very good in all aspects.

By Chris H |

We dined here before a movie and at 5:30 pm were seated immediately by the very pleasant hostess. We immediately received water and chips/salsa from another staff member, also pleasant. Our waitress arrived and asked if we had questions, took our drink order and returned promptly with our beverages. A pretty good margarita! After ordering, our waitress returned with our food and made sure all was to our satisfaction. Our orders were very well plated, beautifully prepared and tasted great. We ordered the shrimp crevices, artichoke appetizer and the halibut tacos. All the food tasted great, and our waitress made sure to check on us throughout the meal. The menu is diverse, the vegetarian in our group had a lot to choose from, good drinks menu and overall a wide variety of traditional selections. So, a couple of final comments: all the staff are very professional and courteous, especially our waitress, she was excellent. And finally, this establishment is spotless! I know it is very difficult to keep on top of creating a debris-free dining room and this restaurant does it! Hats off to the manager/management and staff, well done.

Good food and great Margaritas

By vegeterian |

Wonderful choices for vegetarians! I ordered the Butternut Squash Burrito with a side of tender delicious asparagus and mashed potatoes. My son and daughter-in-law ordered the Cauliflower Tacos and said they were fantastic. Loved the menu because it was not limited to the usual choices at a Mexican restaurant. The Margarita Botanica (with basil and agave nectar) was a great choice too! I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Nice relaxed place

By Jan T |

Loved the decor. Kept studying the lights in the wall. Husband loved his Margarita. Salsa delish! Location good service great!

No service at all

By Jonas K |

We came there but nobody noticed us, brought us menus or asked if we wanted anything to eat or drink. They didn't even come out to bring us the bill after we had finished until we asked them for it. Never again.

Excellent food and service

By Dianne228 |

Recommended by hotel staff and dis not disappoint. We were seated quickly by very friendly and courteous hostess. Service was excellent and food phenomenal. I would recommend the chicken poblana, my husband enjoyed scallops both served with rice. We went there the day before Cinca de Maya and were glad we did as there were was a large line up on that day.

Best food and drinks in town

By garrett v |

If you are near the Space Needle or EMP this is just a few blocks up the street and is a perfect place to stop and take a break for some awesome food and drinks. From Agave you have great view of the Space Needle without all extra noise and people. I don’t know of any Mexican restaurants in the area that have as many options that are all so good. Highly recommend Agave for anyone in the area you will be disappointed if you miss it.

My nephew loved this place!

By Yolanda C |

He is twelve but thought the food was great and wanted to go everyday. He loved the mango cake. The other reviews are kind of hit or miss but I thought the food and service was very good.

Go to place for Mecican food!

By Janet R |

This place is great for a quick n quiet meal with indoor n outdoor seating. Very neat n nicely set up. We had a model special, a seafood salad along with a beer! The food was excellent. A nice menu! Friendly and helpful staff.

Close to Seattle Center Events

By Jan206 |

Agave offers Spanish inspired food and is close to the Seattle Center. The staff is cognizant of theater times so serves drinks and foods promptly. One of us enjoyed 3 flat tacos. A second choice was a tasty salad with scallops, asparagus and mushrooms--served hot.Third diner had a large salad with chicken and a side of asparagus. We've eaten there several times and the food is always good. There are several types of Margaritas--I tried one with a salt rim of cayenne pepper. Definitely will go back.

Disappointing food, poor service--good margarita

By 2012conferencetravel |

Our party of 5 arrived for a pre-theatre dinner (unfashionably early at 5:30, so not particularly busy). The food was boring and definitely oversold: we ordered a roasted cauliflower salad that the waitress emphasized was very large, but we received an over-dressed pile of spinach with perhaps 3/4 cup of crumbled cauliflower on the side. The "street tacos" were below average--and how is it possible to make duck so dry?!? Thank heaven for the "scratch" margarita, which was good. But the service was so bad as to be weird: the waitress twice tried to remove half-full drinks; she brought the bill while we were still eating (and a good hour before the play started, so that wasn't it) and then came back twice in five minutes asking if we had paid yet. We'd have had another drink and perhaps another order of chips, since we were still all a bit hungry, but no chance of that. For the record, we're all entirely un-rowdy professional adults, and there are empty tables and no guests waiting. Weirdest restaurant experience in a while...

Great lunch after a morning @ the Glass & Garden Exhibit

By Ron Y |

After a fantastic morning @ the Glass & Garden Exhibit, we wandered around the area looking for a place to eat. Found this Chick spot on Republican Street, and found that it was the best place for great Mexican food and drinks. The waitress was exceptional.

Highly recommend the Agave, Seattle,WA

An awesome dining experience .. ..from the warm welcome to friendly attentive servers ... the food was fresh & delicious ..... as were the drinks .... a very enjoyable exp......try weekend brunch!!

Delicious modern Mexican food with great service

By thehippoguy |

We had a great experience at Agave. The menu had a lot of great choices. The chips and salsa were really delicious. We had a very attentive waitress who gave us special consideration traveling with a baby. The restaurant had a great ambiance and had a very trendy, nice, decor. Our food tasted great and had interesting flavor profiles. Great views of Space Needle are possible while you eat.

Chili Relleno, Excellente!

On my quest for the best Chili Relleno on the planet, I have to give this place a 9 out of 10 Worth a visit, Hot, Tasty, and Filling Near the Seattle Center

An actual great margarita!

By TXMARTINS |

For a Texan that struggles to find a margarita that is overly sweet from a sweet & sour mix - these margaritas are remarkably strong and good! Great guacamole, good tacos and really good enchiladas. The service was great despite being very busy with a concert across the street that night & the food came out super quickly. Tip: Located right across the street from Key Arena, this is a great spot to grab a drink or dinner before the concert if you can get there a little earlier!

Upscale Mexican food for average budget at lunch

By fsdukejr |

Lunch after the Chihuly Garden and Glass, just a few blocks walk. Atmosphere was relaxing at 1:15P and not crowded. Chips were the usual but served with 2 salsas, both seemed freshly made. The green one was very spicy and delicious and the red one above average. Seafood enchiladas (2) were excellent with an Alfredo type sauce and a small garnish salad. Halibut tacos were also good. Fish grilled to perfection. Dos XX Amber was reasonably priced at $4.5 and served in large frosted mug. Cilantro Margarita's were tasty and refreshing. Sides of cole slaw (extra $2.50) were very good.

Hit the spot for lunch

By Colleen S |

My friend and I were starving after driving to Seattle so we went to this place for lunch because it was across the street from our hotel. We didn't expect much because we onky picked it based on location, but they had lots of gluten free options and were willing to make modifications for us. I had fish tacos and my friend had beef and both were tasty. Of course we also got some lovely mojitos and I would go back just for those! Service was friendly and prompt.

Good Stuff

By Bill M |

My first trip to Agave and it was very good! My asada meal was excellent. The portion size was right and the price was reasonable for downtown Seattle... and would not have been out of line anywhere in the Puget Sound area. My only complaint was that for a table of five we got one set of salsa dishes for our chips. That left us reaching over each other for the good stuff. I asked for a second set and they replaced the ones emptying on the table. You should see what’s occurring. But I’d still go back! Definite 4/5.

EXCELLENT MARGARITAS

By Claudette B |

We enjoyed our dinner and margaritas at Agave. The atmosphere is very nice. There are large windows and also outdoor seating...we'll try that in better weather. They're very willing to please people with limited diets such as myself. I had a burrito with spinach and mushrooms and it was delicious. I asked for no dairy and they had no problem with that request. My husband had enchiladas which he liked but he particularly liked the side vegetables which he ordered...asparagus and also spinach. The guac was very fresh tasting. Our only complaint was we ran out of chips and once we were able to get more our entrees had arrived. I think maybe the servers could be a little more attentive but overall they were good.

Great food convenient to Seattle Center

By WashingtonSky |

We found this restaurant just by walking around the lower Queen Ann neighborhood looking for a place to eat lunch. We were very satisfied with the ambiance, the food and the service. The servings were ample and so good that we asked the waitress for the ingredients, which, it turns out were prepared locally. I loved the Warm Spinach Salad and my wife had Creme Blanca Chicken enchiladas. We will definitely go back!

Great service

By HCH85 |

The service here is literally the best! The margaritas are so delicious! Mmmm... The chips and salsa are amazing! Overall, the food isn't as good as the drinks and service, but it is still good.

order well & this is a treat

By NWroamer11 |

last night my husband and I stopped here at 6 for a light meal before the opera. It's been many months since I was here, when I'd thought of it as mediocre. I believe we each ordered much better, as last nght's meal was very good. He had a margrarita (7$) & pork carnitas (14$), which were sort of do it youself rolls ups with corn tortillas, served with interesting peppers as a veggie & lots of good rice. He liked every bite. I had the pomegrantie chili relleno (12$, served with good rice and excellent grilled asparagus. The relleno was a wonderful rich oozing chilli, sprinkled with colorful fruit seeds. I added the option of "skirt steak" for 3$ and would definitely skip this. It was little bits of shaved meat, much as might be stuffed inside a taco. It didn't look attractive and was insubstantial for $3. Lesson learned. Our server, by Sobeyda, was very good, but couldn't make up for our very bad table. We were placed not far from the host stand, and servers kept passing by a VERY small passage way at my elbow with no thought to how crowded it was. A major minus. Next time I would ask to be moved. the Opera, Tosca, was fabulous.

Good lunch spot

By marcridesbikes |

During a recent visit to the Space Needle/Chihuly Garden, my wife and I opted for something less "touristy" off-site and a quick walk away. Highly, highly recommend it. Not far at all from the attractions listed above, it's a nice alternative to the hot dog stands and really not that bad of a walk through the park to get to. Surprisingly quiet for lunch during a weekday, we experienced great service and the food was just as satisfying. I recommend the tacos but just wish you could mix and match the choices! Margaritas were very good as well. Definitely recommend this place for a quick, relaxing lunch.

Great Place to Eat and Drink

By marvtv |

Great food, great service and great prices. Close to other attractions and has a full bar and knowledgeable bar tenders. We had an early dinner so that we could go on to our next excursion nearby. Our server was great and the food was served quickly and tasted fantastic. Parking is nearby and across from the Queen Anne Inn. Don't hesitate to come in and eat up.

Amazing food and ambience!

By Sheldon K |

This restaurant is a great spot to hit before your event at key arena stadium considering its only steps away. To our delight they played music by the artist who would be performing later mixed with Latin tunes in between. The decor was very classy and authentic while the food I can say is the best Mexican I've ever had. I had the prawn and scallop enchiladas, which might not be for everyone, but my gf loved her chicken dish equally. Definitely recommended!

Great Mexican food with great selection.

By Mary K |

Enjoyed the menu for this restaurant, very good selections. Food was great! Had the seafood fajita and the chili rellenos with pomegranate and steak. Both dishes were delicious and fresh. Loved the guacamole and salsa as well. Service was friendly and helpful.

Second Visit - We'll be Back

By Mike G |

Both the Mediterranean Inn and the Marqueen Hotel recommended Agave. Both hotels were right. We were seated immediately. Our server showed up thirty seconds later. Food and beverages were excellent. Our server came back often to check on us. As we were leaving, two employees waved and thanked us for coming. This was our second dinner at Agave. We'll make it a point to visit Agave during every visit to Seattle.

good food, good service.

By meliska1 |

came here for dinner since it was across the street from our hotel. Food was good, not great. I had the al pastor tacos, they were different. chunks of pineapple in there that I was not happy about but just picked out all the pieces. service was quick!

Another fine meal in Seattle

By Brett C |

We like Mexican food, and had a very nice Happy Hour meal, very nice ambiance, and not noisy. All of the staff were friendly, efficient, and the food arrived quickly and fresh. Competition in fierce in Seattle in this business, and here's another good place to go.

Great Food & Atmosphere

By Explore796204 |

Especially good for large groups - only thing missing was Horchata for our son, but otherwise, loved the food.

Good fresh mex

By Rich2opolo |

Good fresh mex food and a great atmosphere. Service was good as well. Ahi tacos were tasty. The Halibut had a nice medley of flavors. Their flagship $13 margarita was pretty whimpy. Not sure I will be back.

Delicious and fresh

By Renee320 |

We stopped here as it was across the road from the hotel we were staying in. Great menu selection, the food came out super fast which was great as we were both starving. Generous portions and it was super tasty. Free chips and salsa to start which was great. Server was a little awkward and not very friendly at all. She also checked on us way too often which was rather annoying.

View of the Space Needle from my window seat

By Robin M |

The food is delicious. We had the fish tacos with a cabbage cilantro slaw and grilled asparagus. The vegetables and fish were very fresh. The grilled fish taco in a lettuce wrap was quite delicate.

Great service, great food, great tequila!

By FrancineS5060 |

We were taking advantage of Restaurant Week and the prix fixe menu, so between the two of us we tried six menu items. The chile relleno was outstanding as was the orange chipotle caesar salad; everything was excellent. The really nice part was that we got to sample a different tequila with each course and the Casa Resposado was our favorite. Knowledgeable, helpful staff; I can't wait to go back!

Very good Mexican food

By drrosenthal |

I went here for lunch and I ordered the Tacos Dorados with Carnitas. I enjoyed my lunch and would gladly return back to this restaurant.

Mexican restaurant near space needle

By 2010Escape |

We originally started with five people that they were going to squeeze into a table fro four. Not too happy but turned out to be only four of us so it wasn't too bad. Food was good and plenty of chips and salsa.

Fun Team Spot!

By TravelQueen95 |

Enjoyable spot with great food and drinks! The wait staff are excellent too! Our team had a lovely time here - the staff was very accommodating. Great view of the Space Needle!

Brand new, sparkling and a lot of fun!!

By Ibs24 |

The lower Queen Anne location of Agave Cocina and Tequilas is simply a fun place to meet for drinks, appetizers and really good meals. The menu is full of variety of traditional offerings of Mexican cuisine as well as several innovative touches to other items. The staff is attentive and friendly....even during the busy peak times. The restaurant is adjacent to the Seattle Center and just across one cross walk from the Key Arena which makes Agave an ideal place to visit either before or after any of the many events held at Seattle Center and the Key Arena. We plan to return to this Agave whenever we are in the Queen Ann area.

Great drinks, mediocre food

By gracebeavis |

Nice ambiance and decor. Menu sounded fantastic. Service was friendly but slow; our server was new and clearly needed more training. Drinks were excellent. When the food finally came, it did not live up to expectations. All four of us found the food bland and unsatisfying. There are some very good reviews of the tacos, but we had those too and what should have been bold flavors were just flat. Decent salsa and chips.

Wow!!!

By Chukie_24 |

Great food, Awesome Margaritas!!! Ate dinner here June 27th, all I can say is Wow!! I loved the atmosphere, the staff was friendly & helpful, the food was delicious & the Margaritas were fantastic! It’s been a long time since I have had Mexican food this good, too bad I don't live in the area....would be a frequent stop :)

No service

By Theresa K |

Stopped on our way back from Key Arena. We were told to find a place to sit in the lounge as we just wanted a cocktail and a little nosh. Sat for 20 minutes and never were given menus or even acknowledged. It wasn't so busy that this would have been understandable. We left. You would think they would be sufficiently staffed, especially since there was an event nearby. Won't ever try again.

Limited protein servings

By Atiziano |

I been to Agave twice and tried to eat a FDA meal, grilled Fish Taco. I was amazed at the servings , or more so the amount of fish served , more like slivers , 2 for 2 tacos and not more than one ounce in total. And the price is huge. I like to think that an entree will have minimum FDA serving. The good wait staff was a bit pretentious, I know that being real is not possible but it was very obvious : fake.

Good Margarita's

By flipflop48 |

Stopped in early afternoon for a cold beer & Margarita. The chips & salsa's (served 2 types) were fresh & flavorful. Really enjoyed the margarita & wide selection of beers. Wish we had been there at dinner time

Worth checking out

By Hayley B |

I came here two nights in a row. Very nice atmosphere. The first was a date and we had margs and guacamole in the bar. The drinks and food were great. The next night I came with my cousins. The chipotle orange Caesar was very tasty and their tacos and enchiladas looked amazing. Including hosts, waiters, and bus boys, some were great and others could have been a little more on the ball. Would like to try it again though.

Convenient Location

By Lillian Silja B |

Agave is near Key Arena, Seattle Center, Mediterranean Inn, Inn at Queen Anne, and a bus stop. It was a perfect location for an early dinner prior to a basketball game. We had reservations and were seated promptly. There was a very pleasant ambiance. The wait staff was attentive and efficient. The menu had some interesting combinations that we certainly don't find in our rural small town. Everything seemed very fresh and even the "basics" had some different twists. We enjoyed the halibut tacos, taco salad, chicken enchilada with alfredo sauce and found each to be good The chips were fresh and came with two different salsas. The diners near us seemed to enjoy the margaritas and other choices from the bar. Caution: Don't trip on the rock base protruding from the fountain which is very close to several central tables. There is little room for maneuvering around it.

Great lunch and drinks before dinner.

By Wellsgirl63 |

We had lunch and went back for drinks later in the evening. It was buzzing with people of all ages. The food was good. We will definitely go back. If you want quiet, this isn't the place.

Great dinner

By Shery211 |

Our family enjoyed our meal at Agave Cocina. We had wonderful service. Everyone loved the queso dip with chorizo--we'd recommend that a lot. Also tried two different margaritas--I wished they were frozen but they only came on the rocks (still tasty though). Food was reasonable & atmosphere was chic. Very close to Seattle Center so you can come here after sightseeing.

Seattle

By dmh2662 |

Two blocks from our hotel (Mediterranean Inn), the reviews were so-so but it was happy hour. Not really busy but it was only 4:00. The green and red salsas were really good. I had the traditional sangria and hubby ordered the pomegranate sangria. Both were refreshing. He also ordered the house margarita which said was good. We split the bean and corn soup and guacamole. Less than $30.

This place is delicious!

By Life with Yolie |

There's absolutely no reason for you not to try this if you're in the area. We stopped by to eat after driving around for 10 min. It was a weekday and only a few people eating, we decided to try it out and I'm glad we did! From our waitress to our drinks to the food,it was GOOD! It was so good we decided to go back before we left Seattle.

Ok tacos, mediocre service

By Anna-cedars |

It was a Thursday night. I had carnitas tacos and my dining companion had fish tacos. The carnitas tacos were much more flavorful. I'd order them again. There were long waits to order food, order another beer, request more water. They were not busy or understaffed. The servers seemed disinterested or possibly the restaurant has low morale? Either way, if you are looking for great service, go elsewhere. Prepare for your meal to take a while.

Excellent Food Under the Space Needle

By ChuckLF |

I went to this place as part of a business luncheon and went back 2 days later because it was sooooo good. Steak burrito, nice hot chips, 2 different salsas (both delicious), excellent black beans and cold beer that will not bust your budget. This is the one and only Mexican restauirant I have seen that serves spinach and it's very delivious.

Must try the seafood enchiladas!!!

By terrieh |

We stopped here because we were starving and wanted lunch before visiting the glass museum. I took the recommendation of the waitress and ordered the seafood enchiladas...WOW!!! Blue corn tortillas, shrimp, scallops and an awesome mouth watering chipotle cream sauce on top. These were amazing. I think I could eat that cream sauce as a soup!! My hubby had the steak tacos and they were delicious as well. Try this place! It's worth it. Reasonably priced too. $30 for 2 people including sodas.

Nice. Great Bloody Mary. So-so service

By Ken V |

Stopped in after church. Bloody Mary was good. Avocado was very nice. Lamb tacos too. Service was so-so. We had to get our own forks etc.,

I want to like it, but...

By sabos93 |

I want to like this place. They have a great location, nice decor, and friendly service. In the summer, when they open the windows to the street and summer buzz of lower Queen Ann mixes with salsa and margaritas, Agave has a compelling and intoxicating vibe that makes you want to join in. Trouble is, Agave is a bit of a restaurant enigma. We've all seen these places from time to time. A restaurant that has all the ingredients for success. A place that looks great and that lures you in, but can't seem to deliver on its potential. A restaurant that you want to like, but can't seem to recommend. One that gets an A for effort but a C for execution. Some might say they're about flash over substance, but that's unfair. You can see the earnestness in their efforts. But in my three visits to this place, I always come away feeling like they missed the mark. I think problem is a menu that looks better than it delivers. Food that's ok, but not quite as good as you'd expect. In a weird way, their bar exemplifies my point. The bar is solid, but small. The placement of standing rails right behind the bar seats creates traffic jams and flow issues. And they claim to focus on tequila (which is a bit too on the nose now that virtually every local Mexican spot has a tequila bar), but their selection is too basic and underwhelming for a place that claims it as a "specialty." So bottom line, a nice place that is an enjoyable place to visit, with a great presentation, but not nearly enough depth, uniqueness, or "joie de vivre" to be a staple.

Wonderful Mexican in Seattle

By missparma |

What a cozy comfortable nicely appointed Mexican restaurant. We started with fresh warm tortilla chips and salsa that had nice touch of spicy heat. Of course we had to order margaritas which were served in tall glasses filled with ice with what tasted like house made lemon lime mix. Our dinner of chicken poblano was crazy good..creamy with heat but not so rich that you couldn’t finish every morsel. We will be back!!

Dispelled the myth that all Seattle food is good

By spendingdagreen406 |

Greeted at the door and got a nice table right away on sunday night of mothers day . Chips and salsa excellent spoiler alert should have left right then and there. Ordered pacifico with lime and two specialty margaritas and one root beer which they do not have rootbeer nor mountain dew coke products only. The seasonal margarita was infused and it had jalapeno in it and was not told nor was it good. When waiter was questioned does this have jalapeno in it he said yes and nothing more. Coleman our waiter also brought water one glass had lipstick on it so we asked for another and told him why, he didn't find it necessary to apologize. At this point two of our party opted out and didn't order food. I got the tacos pastor beans n rice which was good but unremarkable except for the fact it had stone cold pineapple which made me think canned or not fresh. Thought we were the only ones getting bad service n food but then heard grumbling around us from two other tables as well. I never stiff the waiter because people have to live off their tips but coleman did a sad job this night so I left my buck a person and called it a night. Lots of restaurants by the key go somewhere that washes their glasses and a taco truck would have had a more cheerful server.

Appetizer at Agave

By Nohemi G |

We visited Agave on Pride Sunday evening. I enjoyed a delicious blackberry mojito and my husband a draft Negra Modelo. They service was good and fast. We ate the chicken wings. The atmosphere was wonderful with a great view of the Space Needle.

I hope it sticks around

By Don M |

At first glance the restaurant looks like another trendy here today gone tomorrow type of place. I hope it sticks around. The food was good, certainly better than average, and at a reasonable price. Service was a little lacking, it was late on a slow Sunday night, but it was by no means poor service. When we come back to the Queen Anne area we'll certainly stop by again.

Delicious food and knowledgable service

By DCollins1 |

I bought a groupon just to try someplace new, what a wonderful surprise. This restaurant is a splendid find, providing delicious food, an amazing selection of tequilas and good service. We ordered one Prawns and one Salmon entrees. Both were cooked to perfection. The Asparagus and rice were fresh and cooked perfectly as well. The bartender was extremely knowledgable about the many, many tequilas and Anejos. The prices are extremely reasonable, especially for a restaurant in this location. We will return and tell all our friends what a wonderful place this is.

Great food, great atmosphere

By T W |

Walked up, we were a party of 2 and were seated outside immediately. Chips and salsa and a bottle of water were delivered to our table right away. Delicious tacos and rice and beans.

Betsy Rocks

By Duncal |

So we were in Seattle on the hottest day in history and we found this gem. Cool, great food and beverages and the most helpful friendly server you could imagine.

Loved it!

By Jamiegirl1978 |

This place is great!! Loved the fresh guacamole and in house made tortilla chips. I ordered the roasted cauliflower tacos, they were delicious!! They also make an awesome sangria! I'll be back.

Good food, good service

By Snake911 |

Busy place after shows at Key Arena but the service runs smoothly. Food is standard Mexican fare, well prepared

Lunch outside! Fantastic!

By JillianL |

They have a fabulous menu - I had the spinach/mushroom enchiladas. We ate outside which was so fun. I recommend the French Fusion cocktail. So yum!

Good enough

By Tareku |

Went there last week and the attention was good enough, the nachos are great and the drinks too (although I asked for a dos xx and got a Tecate, the cadillac was great) but they made a fuzz because we went in and sat at a table of our choice rather than waiting for the hostess.

Down right Hispanic.

By Paulsue222 |

Searched for a good Hispanic restaurant in the Redmond area thru Google and up jumped Agave Cocina. Took the entire family in and it was wonderful. Those who waited on us were not impatient (we had four grandkids) and allowed us to take our time and they were 3/4 full. We had a diverse selection Carne Asada and it was the best ever. My son in law had the taco soup and he enjoyed his. There were no complaints. Our margaritas were very tasty too.

A very good meal before/after a Key Arena or Seattle Center event

By mshbnyehud |

Rather than eat the horrific food at Key Arena concessions, we staved off our hunger following an entertainment event, and slipped into Agave Cocina. So glad we did! First, we were fortunate to get in before the rest of the Key crowd (obviously having similar ideas) dropped by. Our request for a table for 2 was immediately fulfilled -- a nice window table. A table attendant came by immediately with chips and two kinds of salsa (the green salsa comes with a "it's quite spicy" warning, and well deserved). Drinks were ordered from our very pleasant server Kate, who took the time to answer questions and make suggestions regarding the diverse and interesting menu. Drinks were promptly delivered (by the manager -- whom I discovered was very engaged in the most positive way, to make sure everything was going well at multiple tables -- KUDOS to the manager!). Based upon Kate's recommendations, we ordered a Carne Asada main entre and a grilled steak salad. Both were quite tasty. The carne asada comes with a small, but sufficient side of fabulous homemade guacamole, lots of sauteed peppers and whole slightly whipped pinto beans (not refried, I don't believe). The carne (meat) is a very thin slice, cooked with nice spices but a little bit chewy. I liked the taste, but just wished it was a bit more tender. With the accompaniments, however, it was a solid choice. My partner's steak salad had thicker cuts of beef, also very tasty, perfectly cooked, a huge portion. In fact all of the portions we observed were quite generous. We chose to accompany the meals with a glass each of Argentinean Malbec wine and red Sangria -- both were decent portions and good. When we were ready to depart, it was the manager (again making his way around the tables non-stop) who took my credit card and immediately processed a correct bill, allowing Kate to keep up with her other tables. The atmosphere is vibrant, so expect some noise especially if there's games on TV (which there is virtually non-stop). I wouldn't classify this place as a sports bar, per se, but they do recognize that they are, after all, right next door to Key Arena. In all, I think Agave is very close to being rated "Excellent" and we will return.

Fresh, cozy and bursting with flavor.

By xsruby76 |

Great place to catch a meal and watch a football game on a rainy Sunday afternoon. We were delightfully surprised at the innovative, contemporary and flavorful combinations of tacos and Mexican food choices. Our waitress gave us great advice guiding us thru some of the food options. I thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere. We could even see the space needle from our table near a window. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean and cozy. I loved the Al Pastor Pork Tacos. Can't wait to go back again!

A wonderful surprise

By Mary S |

unlike most Mexican restaurants, Agave serves some unusual dishes that delight most that try them. We had Cod Tacos and the Carnitas finished off with the Generous serving of fried Ice Cream. Each of the dishes were prepared to perfection and all had some unusual but tasty spices. Nice beer selection as well. Our go to place on Lower Queen Anne in Seattle.

Great food in Seattle!

By Susan M |

We were up to Seattle to see a show and stayed close to Seattle Center. Happened upon this place and were more than just pleasantly surprised. Good selection of food & drinks, awesome service and even a friendly manager to chat at the door. Highly recommend this place!! :)

Decent Mexixan food, for Seattle

By Jeff S |

First off, it should be noted that we are from Houston, so we are rather "spoiled" in terms of good Mexican food. That said, for Seattle, this wasn't bad. The price was reasonable, and the food was definitely fresh and palatable. The flavor was a bit bland, but for local palates, it was good. Service was good, and our waiter was attentive and on-point. Drinks were solid, with no complaints.

Boring food

By Pamela A O |

Their website sounds so inviting. But our dinner was quite boring. I had the salmon green salad. Did they cook the salmon yesterday? Or possibly, giving them the benefit of the doubt, in the morning? I think it was likely a nice piece of fish once. Dry and overcooked. The green goddess dressing was uninspiring. If there were anchovies or anchovy paste in it, I'd be surprised. My partner had soft tacos with rice and beans. He said his meal was pretty much like the garden variety tacos with rice and beans that are available anywhere else. Service was prompt and courteous, but we won't be back.

Clean, Tasty and Healthy

By William S |

Lovely bright clean location in a newly hip Queen Anne district near the Needle. Ceviche filled with ahi, nice temparate salad dressing, ($14.00), complete fresh tomato, pickled red onions, lettuce. Substantial portion. Chicken, roasted cauliflower, onions, avocado, and lettuce, ($19.00), very good. Rose' ($10.00)......$50.00 with tip. A very good place.

But l am from Texas

By joyce s |

Chips good, cheese gummy whitekind. Tables way to small. Cerviche, a joke, more pineapple...canned..shrimps small and cut into strips, maybe one scallop..parsley not celantro... pass. Chicken Mole, canned, coleslaw salad perfect...Mexican corn canned with chili sprinkled on top...what happened to grilled corn sliced from the cob! Wait staff lovely and very friendly...

Love it

By fefa1986 |

This place is a great location ! Everyone me and my friends going to key arena for a concert we having a dinner and a couple of drinks ! Prices are good .food is amazing ! Stuff is amazing and friendly!!!!!

Nice atmosphere, good food

By tamhjoy |

Agave is one of our favorite Queen Anne summer spots to eat. The atmosphere is great and they open up the big side windows to enjoy the beautiful weather. Food is good - we especially like their happy hour menu. Serve a GREAT prickly pear mojito....try it! So convenient to Seattle Center and Key Arena, if you want to eat before or after an event

Not terrible

By TonyaB6 |

Not terrible but not great customer service either. Bartender could have cared less, appetizer took way too long. It's ok

1 hour limit

By fefa1986 |

I love this place and food is great ! Mojito is amazing !! But yesterday manager pissed me and my friend off !! By telling us that we have one hour limit !!! Excuse me?? We are not just holding a table !!!! We are spending money !!!!!!! And my friend still eating and having almost full glass a beer and manager tell me I cannot order another drink for myself ??!!!!!! WTF???? So I just have to seat and watch my friend drinking ????? So had to get up and finish drinks standing in the middle of the floor !!! Wow what a great service !!!!!!!

Very good authentic Mexican food.

By Lucas |

I'm from Mexico, so im skeptic when I see a Mexican food restaurant in the US, since usually they are not that authentic Mexican (more US-Mexican food). I visited this restaurant with my wife to see Mexico's World Cup game and was pleasantly surprised by the food. It was really good and close to what you can find in Mexico, also friendly service and very good drinks.

Tacos for the ladies

By ahootsy |

Food was decent, service was good. Tacos were nice and crispy, we had the chicken tacos. I’m sure there is a fancy name for it, I just can’t remember the name.

Perfect

By Shere33 |

Stopped in for a late lunch. Menu included tacos and rice to salad w/salmon (recommend). Licensed. Not a menu for young children but that was fine for us. Really enjoyed the service, cleanliness and excellent food.

Great Margaritas

By Foodie4Life1982 |

Stopped in for a drink and an appetizer. Bartender was very friendly, Margaritas were amazing (however, pretty expensive) and nachos were great!! We will be back to try some of the fancy tequilas!!

Wonderful & Fresh

By DeliaRene |

We had tuna tacos and chicken tacos - both delicious and fresh. Sis had a mule - yummy! Great service, clean, airy, modern. Will be back!

Taco less Taco Fest

By myrna6684 |

Came to Seattle for the Taco Festival and found no tacos. Stumbled upon this place while we wandered around looking for a Mexican restaurant. Was impressed with their food, service was great. Try the margarita with agave (don't remember the name).

Good food, Fun place

By Jeff C |

We were in Seattle for a couple of days and stumbled upon this place as we were leaving Seattle Center. The food was excellent from a menu with great variety. Servers were knowledgeable and quick with fresh drinks making sure we were cared for the entire time. They also have a very good beer menu. We look forward to returning soon.

Good not Great

By Kathy53Usa |

We were a little disappointed but maybe we just ordered the wrong things. The rellenos were good but the fish taco was small and dry. We asked for some sour cream to maybe make it more moist but later found we were charged for it. I guess we should have asked.
