I love this place. One of my favorite in Atlanta.Food always mouth watering ,delicious.Gyro is excellent.Kebaps ,humus ,baba ganush, eggplants ,rice are exceptionally good.Owner is a very very nice guy with a sense of humor.if you are in Atlanta and haven't tried this place yet you missed something .if you like Mediterranian food, I highly recommend this place.

We were visiting Atlanta, and made a point of looking for Mediterranean food downtown. I had the mixed gyro platter - it had lamb and chicken. I was disappointed that there was little flavor in the meats and in the tzatziki sauce.

We had the grill plate which came with grilled lamb and chicken pieces, salad and pita bread. It was a generous serving and some of the best mediterranean/greek food I've experienced. It gets busy at lunch. You order at the counter and ate upstairs which was enjoyable. I'm going back next time I'm in Atlanta.

We visited this cafe accidentally on her first night stay in buckhead, Atlanta. We were on our way to our hotel and saw this nice looking mediterranean cafe. Since we are vegetarian, we usually explore Mediterranean places as they have good veggie options. We are so glad that we stopped here. The owner - Alattin came to our table many times to check. He even gave us complimentary appetizer dish. The service was great, the food was delicious and the staff was friendly. As we were departing, the owner approached us again and packed some desserts for us to go!!! ( complimentary ). Our kids aged 7 and 11 loved the food too. Do go there if you like great Mediterranean food and wonderful hospitality . Excellent .

My family and I visited Cafe Agora for the first time since we were craving Mediterranean food and it had good reviews online. We ordered our food and waited 5-7 minutes for all of our meals. We were stunned how fast the service was! We both had the gyro plates with side of falafel. The food was amazing!!! The falafels were my favorite and they were one of the best I have ever eaten. The lamb was cooked to perfection, the taziki sauce was delicious, and the pita bread was so fresh! I wish we lived in Atlanta so we could come more often...we will definitely be coming back whenever we are back in town. Thank you for the great service and for serving some delicious food for an affordable price!

And so glad we did. We shared a small beef and lamb gyro and a tabouli salad. Have to say that the food, atmosphere and service are much better than the sister location. The gyro was huge by any standard. The taziki sauce was superb and the gyro meat was extremely tasteful. The tabouli was freshly made and had some life left in it. Perfect meal. Hint: go on a Sunday for free parking!

Wow, after stopping in with family, everyone wanted to eat there again soon! I love this sweet little restaurant. Everything on the menu is heavenly.

We chose this place because we were looking for something different. We came across a gem of a place. The atmosphere was very casual. The food was great and the prices were fair. I would highly recommend the Lamb. It is awesome. I have had lamb before at other middle eastern places, but this was the best lamb I had for sure. It was juicy and flavorful. I would highly recommend this place.

Excellent authentic Mediterranean cuisine in mid town Atlanta with great service to match. Impessive selection of entees on the menu. The lamb was an amazing choice.

We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident but what a treat! The food was excellent and the servers were extremely friendly and accommodating. The owner came and talked to us and recommended some dishes. He kept checking on us and made the evening very entertaining. The food was hot, fresh and tasty. If I go back to Atlanta, I would definitely visit Cafe Agora!

Do not let this small Greek restaurant keep you from having a great meal at Cafe Agora. I had the largest and best Gyro sandwich at Cafe Agora. I also had a side of hummus. I sat at the window and watched the people go by. Great entertainment! I highly recommend Cafe Agora.

Falafel sandwich and humus were amazing! I was in town for a trade show and found this place. Now I have two reasons to come back next year!

We love mediterenean food, so we went on the internet to check a place near us in atlanta. We end up at cafe agora, at first we were reluctant about the place. But it end up being very nice. My husband loved the food and we both love the service. The hummus was good. Everyrhing we had was just fine. I highly recommend this place. And they are soon moving to a brand new building on the same street. We received a complimentary dessert made of rice and something else (I forgot to ask for the name), it was really good.

Had a fantastic meal for two made up of a large vegetarian platter, stuffed grape leaves and falafel. Great flavor with fresh ingredients. For me, found a few Middle Eastern dishes that I hadn't seen before (ezme, piyaz, etc.) and was glad to get to try these. The service was outstanding; he was friendly and helpful. If you want to have a bit more of a sit down meal, head upstairs. They also have a few outdoor seats.

Best Mediterranean food I have had. Fresh ingredients friendly owner. Highly recommended. reasonable prices. Atmosphere is extremely casual. New location should be more upscale

We stumbled upon this place while driving through town. Cafe Agora did not disappoint! We both had the lamb and beef gyro with fries. The meat was tender and juicy; not dry at all. The fries were crispy and delicious. Our drinks were on point, and our waitress was attentive. They even provided us a little cup of rice pudding with cinnamon; also delicious! We will definitely return.

My friend and I went to Cafe Agora a few weeks ago, and we didn't know what to expect. I ordered a chicken gyro, it was absolutely delicious. I've never had Greek food before, and I didn't know what to expect, next time, I will get something more exotic. The guys that run the restaurant are extremely nice and happy to bring a sampling of desserts over after we finished lunch. I want to try the Buckhead location, this was really a great place.

I was just in Atlanta for a business trip and stumbled upon this place. I had the lamb gyro and the meat was cooked perfectly and was very tasty! If you are looking for a quick lunch or inexpensive dinner, I would definitely recommend Cafe Agora. I also noticed that they do catering, so if you need an unique catering menu this would be a fun option.

We had been to Pharr location few years ago but didn't know that they had moved to downtown. We gave it a try and food is still very good. Kebabs are very tasty and fresh. This is one of the hidden gems in Atlanta for so long. Will visit again and again!!!

Great food and great serving sizes. Our service was quick and friendly. The parking is a bit of a headache but they do have valet.

Great flavorful food, varied menu selections, excellent considerate attentive servers, snobby waitresses, tasteful minimalist decor, comfortable seating in & out. Restaurant has pp to bar area's comfortable seating. Servers rushed outbefore we took a step. Kudos to the gentleman. None of the group used the lav. Parking available across the st. Convient location. A gem. Looking forward to our return. Gave 5 stars dispute waitresses.

This week was my fifth visit to Cafe Agora in the last six months. The quantity and quality of the food is beyond my expectations. This place is rather small however don't let the first floor fool you. They have plenty of seating upstairs and a few on the main level. I am a huge fan of the grill plate with a significant amount of lamb and chicken. I would suggest going rogue and asking for advice. The guys behind the counter have never let me down with unique dishes and making solid suggestions. This is a great stop if you are looking for something beyond the traditional chain food. The restaurant is very close to the Midtown Marta Station and just off of Peachtree. So it's a 2 block walk from Marta for a great meal. Prices are low for the quantity and quality. I am a big eater and have yet to finish a meal by myself. The benefits - go with others and share a few plates. You won't be disappointed.

After watching a foodie show on YouTube last night, I knew I wanted a gyro and hummus. A quick Google search led me to Cafe Agora. It’s a small deli type restaurant with seating inside, upstairs and on the sidewalk when weather permits. Easy street side parking, beautiful weather for sidewalk dining, and spot on food made the hour-long trip worth it. It was lunch hour and there were 7 people in line ahead of me but I waited no more than a few minutes. I ordered the mixed gyro, falafel, and the maza platter to take home. Everything was packed up and handed over with a smile in 5 minutes. This is definitely a gem and I will be stopping by again soon.

What an amazing meal! $17 bought a mixed grill with every kind of meat it seemed. Made two meals. It was great. Falafel is really spicy but good. Get the rice pudding to bring home. The kid with us at that first and we were all jealous. Worth the trip because the food was exceptional.

I found this place while driving past one day and noticed that it had good reviews. It is located just off of Peachtree Road in Buckhead. It is very basic looking and feeling, both inside and outside. We were seated promptly and had good service throughout. We started with hummus, which was a good starter. I had the agora salad with both lamb and chicken, which was huge, filling and great tasting. My friend had the chicken euro, which was also good. It good for both small and large parties. The only dislike is that I thought that it was a bit pricy. liked this place and definitely plan to come back.

We visited Atlanta for a weekend trip and ate dinner here with friends. The owner stopped by and we had a chat. Very nice guy. Pros: - Good food. We had Iskender and Mixed grill dishes as well as the Meze platter. All very well done and tasty. - Good location. It was on a high end neighborhood with a great patio looking over the main street. Easy to get to. - Very nice atmosphere with mix of couples and families from all ages were dining. - The décor was very nice. Looked like a Mediterranean villa terrace. Everything was clean as well. Even bathroom looked very nice and clean. - Friendly/helpful waiters. - Price was ok considering the type of food/size of the plates and the location. Cons: - Parking was limited, so we needed to park outside. Not a big deal though. Overall, very nice restaurant.

The food here was absolutely fabulous and such a wonderful value. The owner came to our table to make sure we were happy with our meals and even sent a complimentary sampler dish with the tastiest carrot dip (don't remember what it was called). This is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to in my life.

It's not easy to find but once you do you will probably be back again. Food is really good. Freshly prepared. Good pita too. I will be back. It is a smallish place. You order at the counter and the food is brought out to you. This is a paper plate and plastic fork deal.

Don't get me wrong. This place still puts out some pretty good Middle Eastern food. It just doesn't seem as good as it was when it was down the street in its little hole in the wall place. It now seems as though they are just pushing the food out versus cooking with tender loving care. The prices have increased, but so has everyones. One still orders at the counter and they bring the food out to you. We ordered and waited and waited for out food. The wrong order was tried to give to use a few times then the correct one. The food lacked its full flavor of earlier days. The salad platter seemed a bit smaller and the Gyro meet seemed to be just sliced off the spit and not browned as usual. Yes, this place was crowded. The parking lot is much bigger than before, but since more people not as empty spaces. Then we waited and waited for our check. We will go back but after they get some time under their belt with the new large space. No one seems responsible for serving the food, checking to see if everything is ok and then getting the check to the table after the meal is complete.

Don't let this tiny cafe fool you - the food is REALLY good and legit. I don't think I had a more delicious Gyro plate in US. We went for Gyros and Falafel Plates and Turkish beer and it was amazing. Portions are huge!

Since the reopening, I order the same dish, Lamb Shish Kebab, every time. The rice is perfectly seasoned, and the meat is tender. The salad has veggies in it that I don't eat; cucumbers and tomatoes, but it has the perfect flavors to go with the entree, so guess what? Yeah, I eat it. Check it out. You won't be disappointed.

We really got luck by finding Cafe Agora in Buckhead. The food was wonderful and the service was very attentive. We started with baba gannoush which may have been the best I have had. I had the mixed grill while my wife had the moussaka. Both were out of this world.the spices were perfect and the portions hefty. The prices might have been a little high, but considering the size, it was proportionate. The baklava was a nice addition as was the pudding. In all it was superlative.

Earlier this summer, my husband and I had to be in Buckhead during rush hour, so we did a quick search of restaurants around the area and finally agreed on trying Cafe Agora, based on all of the positive reviews it got. These reviews are real; in fact, while we were waiting on our food, another couple came in and told us that they ate there several times a week. We started out with the mixed mazza platter, moved on to some kebabs, and just had to try their dolmas. EVERYTHING was fresh and delicious, including the tiny ramekin of rice pudding and baklava our waiter gave us at the end of our meal. I actually said "Damn it, this is good" out loud as I ate my dessert, possibly upsetting some of the more conservative diners around me. Since that visit we've taken every opportunity to make the drive from Athens to visit Agora Cafe and pick up a few things to go. The food is absolutely perfect for humid Georgia evenings and the variety will make it easy for everyone in your party to find something to enjoy. Plus, its atmosphere is the anti-Buckhead: reasonably priced, unfussy, and downright homey. I promise that you want to eat here.

We went here for lunch. Despite its rating of 105 out of 3,000 something restaurants in Atlanta, it had very few other patrons. Plenty of parking though, next to Lenox Square. I had the mousaka, looked almost like a lasgna, very oily, could not finish it. Others ordered the gyro and falafel which they liked. Service good, atmosphere good, quiet.

I haven't eaten much greek food but I must tell you that he hummus was excellent, the eggplant too. The baklava was the BEST I have ever had. The service was fabulous. I was only visiting Atlanta and I wish there was one where I live.

It's a small place, but the falafel is great! Everything in the dish is fresh: the green salad, the humus, the bread...The people are friendly too. I had a nice time eating my falafel and watching the people passing by on the street. Good value!

I make it a point to come here anytime we are in town. The falafel is amazing, and the spanikopita is equally great. It is definitely worth a visit!

Place is very small and off the main drag. You order from the counter but if you eat in the owner will bring you the food. The food was amazing. Fresh and huge portions. Everything was good and we ate everything on the plate. The bread is soft, the hummus tasty and the fried eggplant delicious. You must visit this one in Atlanta

It's a small deli downtown Atlanta just off of Peachtree, prices were very reasonable service was fast and the food was excellent. It's not a fancy place but if you want to get a good Greek food and a very personable staff this is the place to go. Very fast service

Food was fresh and so good that we went back the very next night to pick up our dinner to eat in our hotel room again! Very authentic!

This is an outpost of the larger version in Buckhead. It’s a simple fast casual café where you order at the counter and they bring your food. The café could use a little sprucing up and decorating, but it’s OK. The four outside tables are very pleasant in good weather. The man at the counter is friendly and enthused about his wonderful food. Overall it is delicious. The Havuc Ezme salad is bright and fresh. The Iskender Kebab entrée was wonderful with great tomato sauce on top and a bright and fresh yoghurt sauce on the side. The Baklava was great and the Turkish Coffee rich and delicious. The only problem is that the nice counterman can get bogged down quickly if several customers come in. But he is so pleasant that it is easy to forgive that. Otherwise, it would have been 5 stars It felt just like being back in Turkey. If you drive, there is allowed free parking in the bank lot around the corner.

Every once in a while you find a true gem... Cafe Agora in Buckhead now ranks among my favorites. Not only was the food superb, but they have a new cocktail called MOSCAI. Never tasted anything like this anywhere. The food was great - the eggplant was simply amazing and all other dishes were superb. Pair that with a drink that turned out to be a fresh light drink that went down like a Moscow Mule on steroids, super taste and powerful. I do not think any other place has anything like it!! Will be back - often.

Generous gyros. Phenomenal falafels. Terrifi tzatziki and righteous rice pudding. Get here for your taste of Istanbul.

We stopped here for takeout when we flew into Atlanta. We are always greeted warmly no matter how busy they are. We ordered the Gyro Dinner, which comes with pita and a side salad. We also ordered a side of Hummus, and a dessert of Smolac (spelling???). Everything was delicious as usual. We have never had a clunker meal from here, they are SO good! Try the Smolac, a dessert with some sweetness and cinnamon that I think is made from rice. And the hummus, it is to die for! FANTASTIC hummus.

Love to go to local places, and this was recommended to us by the Margaret Mitchell folks. We sat upstairs, since it was too chilly to sit outside. I had the Fish "sandwich", and it was Huge. more like a Wrap/Pita, with lots of veggies. My husband had the Gyro, and it was large and very tasty, too. Very authentic cafe.

Delicious gyro-lots of meat and tzatziki sauce and served with a healthy side salad. Menu is well priced, good service and clean.

In a neighborhood with many chains (taco mac, jimmy johns, panera, etc), this middle eastern hole in the wall is a tremendous asset. Lamb/beef gyro is very tasty, as are most of the mezes. If you're seeking a quick gyro fix, this is BY FAR, your best choice in midtown. There isn't much in the way of atmosphere; even the "patio" is just a cramped space by the curb out front. Reminds me a little of some of the places that used to be on McDuogal Street in Greenwich Village years ago.

This is a neighborhood hole in the wall some outdoor tables. More upstairs. Nice nice nice. The best tabouli. All the other Mediterranean dishes you expect.

A very basic restaurant but that is not a bad thing. Excellent food and very nice staff. I pop in there a few times a month.

The food is good but I've had better. I had the Chicken gyro and salad and my husband had the lamb gyro. My husband said it was the best lamb he's had on a gyro. The salad was really good but my chicken was just ok. The service was great. The guy at the front was very friendly and attentive.

We got a takeout order of gyro platters for lunch, with hummus and pita for later in the evening. Service in filling the order was very prompt and we were able to eat without heating up our meals. What we got were two gyro platters which were gyro meat on a bed of rice that came with a side salad. The meat was very good but not surprisingly had a lot of sodium in it for flavor. The rice was good. My husband liked his salad, I liked mine but noted that the lettuce appeared to be rusting or getting old and that affected the flavor. The pita we had was very good and fresh. We had the hummus and some pita later. The pita was still good and the hummus was, as usual, absolutely great!

Excellent food with large portions, including the best Baklava I believe I've ever had. The cafe itself is not large but it has a great atmosphere and the owner goes out of his way to take care of you. The place was quiet at the time we were there and the owner gave us a sample of the desert he had just made. We will be back.

We love this place. It is casual and the food is excellent. The gyro is perfectly tender. Unlike other places, the owner won't try to upsell you or ask you to buy a more expensive entree. We found the opposite to be true, he usually suggests a lower priced item on his menu!

Went to Cafe Agora for the first time this weekend and was definitely glad I decided to stop through. I was extremely hungry so I decided to order the mixed grill (this includes greek salad, chicken and lamb kebabs, & rice). There was soo much food! I was able to eat it for lunch and dinner. I also order hummus as well. One word some up my experience: OUTSTANDING. The service was great, food was amazing. I will definitely be back.

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious lunch recently at Café Agora in midtown, located just across the street from the Margaret Mitchell House on Peachtree Place. Several colleagues had recommended it and we decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad we did! The staff is very friendly and the food is absolutely delicious. We enjoyed their lunch special - a gyro (or any sandwich), Greek salad, and a drink - for $10.50 per person along with a hummus appetizer to share. Very generous portions! There are several good Middle Eastern restaurants in Atlanta but the seasonings, fresh veggies, and special touches, along with the excellent service, really put Café Agora at the head of its class. The restaurant is small but immaculately clean, and there is seating downstairs, upstairs, and at outside tables. You really can't go wrong here.

Cafe Agora is a little, two story restaurant in Midtown. You order at the counter, then either take out, or they will deliver it to you on the second floor room that has several tables and a counter overlooking Peachtree Place. The fried eggplant salad is especially good. We also had baba ganoush and lamb plates. The falafel salad was a bit too spicy for our taste. So much food, there was no room for desert. It is a great place. You are sure to love it. I cannot comment on the price, as our son got the check.

We were heading downtown for a game and wanted to try this place for its Greek/Med food. The bottom level is where you order your food and a small dining area upstairs is where you eat. Very small overall but the food quality was good. The gyros were a combo of beef/lamb and other than being a little under seasoned they were tender and tasty. The Spanakopita was pre-made and then warmed up with made it not as good and flaky as it could have been. The Baklava was flakier and excellent to end the night. Overall good choice for a fast, tasty meal if you are in the area.

Read the great reviews and decided to give it a try - we're so glad we did. The food was excellent and the portions were generous. Our server was the manager who took great care of us and many other people that were there at the same time. It was a beautiful day so we were able to sit at one of their tables outside. Will definitely go back next time we're in that area.

Went for dinner following a long day at the aquarium and coca-cola world with the kids. Was not too busy. Food was delicious, prices were reasonable, and my 6-year-old enjoyed her meal. We were wrapping up our meal at 9pm closing time, discussing baklava. The owner was very gracious and came by with complimentary last helpings of dessert. Thank you!! Would definitely recommend.

On a mom-daughter trip to Atlanta (child is 6) and was looking for cheap good eats... Cafe Agora is the place to go. The babaganoush is amazing. My daughter had a falafel wrap that was delicious and I had the lamb and beef salad that was so good that I want to go back and get another before we leave. The manager or proprietor was so friendly and gave my daughter rice pudding on the house. Btw... the rice pudding is the creamiest most delicious rice pudding I have ever had... my daughter kept saying it is better than her dad's!

I got the chicken gyro and it was so sooo good!!😍. All the flavors went perfectly together. This is the best flavored chicken I have ever had! All I can say is wow, I definitely must say I am coming back very soon and frequently!

After visiting other spots, I can definitely say this is the best Mediterranean food I've had in Atlanta. I usually go for a lamb salad or gyro. I've never had a bad experience. The midtown location feels like its more of a grab-n-go atmosphere and the Buckhead location is more of a sit down experience.

Very small restaurant on Peachtree Place (just steps from Taco Mac and Hudson Grill on Peachtree) with a nice selection of Turkish cuisine. Our favorite is the large Maza Platter, a veggie assortment of their appetizers. It's enough food for two people. The Rice Pudding (sutlac) is excellent. Good spot to eat in (they also have space upstairs) or to go.

Told the person at the counter it was our first time, and he gave us a quick tour of the menu. Generous fresh portions. My vegan companion, a long distance runner, got the vegan sampler, said it was nice and light, and that he would be back.

We wanted Mediterranean food on our trip to Atlanta and stopped here because of the Tripadvisor rating. The owner, Al, introduced himself and his spectacular food. The servings are huge and I only wish I had more room in my stomach to try additional menu items. Will definitely return when back in Atlanta!

I always try to get a meal at Agora Cafe, either in Buckhead or Midtown, when I'm back in Atlanta. Great Turkish food at a very reasonable price. The lamb gyro sandwich fills you up, and their meze are really tasty. I'm always partial to their baba ganoush and their sweet carrot meze dishes.

Excellent dinner here Flavorful ( not just bland kabobs) Veggie platter was really good Plan to go back again

If you want a good, overstuffed gyro at a great price, hit up the Cafe Agora in Midtown. Services is quick and friendly. Carryout or dine in (limited seating). I enjoyed the lamb/beef gyro with a huge portion of meat, lettuce, onion and tatziki sauce on a perfectly grilled pita. Highly recommended...and I don't give away "Excellent" reviews often!

Went to Cafe Agora today for lunch with friends. What a great surprise, and fantastic food! Had the Falafel sandwich lunch special which included a greek salad and a drink. Great falafel, amazing hummus, in a pita with a fabulous yogurt dressing! I will definitely be going back here for a meal! My friends were also raving on the Baklava, but I forgot to get some!

Had lunch twice. The place is small, like tiny, there are some tables outside that are nice when weather permits, I did not look upstairs. I liked the food quite a bit, honest portions and good lunch special. I'll go back when the mood strikes. Service can be a bit slow, but that means they are making it for real.

We had the falafel platter, the lamb and beef gyro platter, stuffed grape leaves, rice pudding, baclava, and turkish coffee. All fantastic! I checked above that it was one of the best meals I've had in a restaurant: to be clear, it was THE BEST FALAFEL I've tasted.

Went in to get a quick bite to eat and was surprisingly pleased by the taste and amount of food I received..I ordered a Gyro plate it came with a salad that wasn’t very fresh but had an amazing dressing on it,I ate as much as I could (that wasn’t brown)and tossed the rest, I will be back but will make sure my salad is fresh before I leave (lol)

Visited with my family for lunch. A modest place in a high end area, with an interesting menu, affordable prices and a nice selection of Mediterranean food that you hardly find elsewhere. Quality of food and portions were excellent.

Food is always fresh and ingredients are good. My favorite is the Gyro which is likely the best in Atlanta. Salads are also great. Seating areas are a little tight. Pricing is very reasonable. Staff has a Mediterranean sense of humor and will "verbally" jost just for fun.

Pretty much stumbled upon this place looking for something new/different in Midtown. It's about a half block off Peachtree and close to the Margaret Mitchell House. The downstairs is kind of small, but there is an upstairs seating area and several outdoor tables. There is a display case full of various salads that all looked really good. What we had: Beef Gyro - Really really tasty. The Pita was so soft. At first we though there was too much Tzatziki because most places make it way too strong. However, Cafe Agora makes a light and tasty Tzatziki...turns out we could have used even more. The tomatoes were excellent also. Greek Salad - Also fresh and tasty. The tomatoes were so fresh and flavorful. We asked the owner(?) where he got them from and he said the Farmer's Market. There was a bean and tomato salad in the display case that I wish we had gotten...it looked so good too. Grilled Fish Sandwich - served on Pita Bread also. The fish tasted really fresh and was lightly grilled. Definitely returning here in the future...a new favorite place for us.

Although this looks like just a hole in the wall, don't be fooled-- the food is absolutely delicious and very fresh. There is also seating upstairs and they bring the food out to you since it is cooked to order. My gyro was delicious with just the right spices, and the bread was also very fresh and just the right texture. I am not a big fan of Greek food, but I could eat here every week!

Great kabob and lamb and gyro! Not to mention the French fries, so crispy! Friendly staff as well. There's free parking at the Delta Community credit union.

Trying to bypass Atlanta's Friday evening traffic on our way to a Hawks game, we stumbled onto this place. Pleasant surprise. Though somewhat small, it has a nice atmosphere. The place is clean, both the food and service are very good, and you get good size portions for a reasonable price. The staff is very friendly. I suppose parking could be a challenge during weekday lunch hour, but we had no problems finding a spot across the street.

Food, staff, atmosphere: all are amazing! I would stay away from the fish, but literally everything else on the menu is so good! We've been here A LOT, so we've gotten to know the manager, and he is attentive and personable. When it's nice out, it's perfect to sit outside and people-watch while eating. When it's not nice outside, upstairs has ample seating. Get the gyro, and definitely don't leave without dessert-the baklava is amazing!

Found the restaurant by accident but glad I did. I am very demanding in regards to middle eastern cuisine. The food was fresh, service basic but efficient, and the quantity plentiful. Locally owned clearly a neighborhood restaurant. I would definitely eat there next time I am in Atlanta.

This cafe is around the corner from the Margaret Mitchell Museum. The food was made with fresh ingredients and most delicious. It is not your ordinary fare. My husband loved the chicken gyro, as well as the hummus platter, and I enjoyed the fish sandwich. We are touring Atlanta, and hope to visit again before we return home. We also enjoyed the sidewalk seating.

OK, we do love Cafe Agora. We went almost a year ago to the new location and it was not what we were use to from the old location. The new location still does not have that feel that the old one had and it never will. So we must accept that. But the food...it is back. We had the Maza salad. It consisted of about 8 different salads and they were perfect.. The Baba Ganoush had that wonderful creamy smoky flavor. They were all quite different and oh so good. We also got a side order of Gyro meat and it was back to the it was that we liked so much. A plate full of small pieces that were cooked to perfection. They had that little char to them and still moist. I must say that over the past year I have tried gyro meat at a few other places and decided that I must not like it anymore. Well, no I was wrong. When you have Cafe Agora's you will not like any other that you might find. We were at the tail end of lunch so the crowd was beginning to thin out. Service was excellent. Staff was as friendly as they could get. Will definitely go back and will recommend to all.

The restaurant is very small, with tables located in the second floor and the kitchen and service counter in the first floor. It has a few tables outside too. It's right next to the Margaret Mitchell house. The food is excellent. It's the best Mediterranean food place in Midtown. It's a casual place, neighborhood eatery, very good food. If you are not familiar with some of the dishes, feel free to ask for a sample. They are very open to provide samples to customers.

After touring the Margaret Mitchell house, my friend and I asked where to have lunch. The staff suggested nearby Cafe Agora and we were glad they did! The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food was delicious! We each had the salad topped with a combination of lamb and beef. Each salad came with a small piece of pita bread.

I love halal guys! So happy they are bringing one in atlanta! However the gyro here is unbelievable! They raised the price because of their new location which sucks but got to do what you got to do. I always eat my greek food here! and only here!

Anytime we are traveling through Atlanta, we try to stop off here. The food is always great and the value is amazing. We had the sampler platter and all three of us ate off it and left satisfied. I have to say, the manager of the restaurant was a little standoffish. When I told him the bathroom needed tissue, he acted like he was annoyed (maybe he was, but take that up with your staff, and they weren't terribly busy anyway). The owner must stay at the Buckhead location because when we eat there, he makes recommendations and talks to the patrons. In fact, that is how we discovered Effes brand beer. My SO loves it and I wish we could get it down here. Despite the short staff, we will still continue to ear here.

Like other reviewers, I was convinced to buy something other than the more expensive dishes (I guess they would've taken longer to prepare). Instead I got the kefta. It was well seasoned, served over rice (not the best rice ever) with salad as well. Wasn't bad for a quick meal stop, but I've had better kefta.

I stopped at Cafe Agora and got their lunch special takeout for $10.50; I chose a gyro sandwich and a Greek salad. When I got to back to our condo, I discovered there was so much sauce on the gyro that I could not eat it in the wrapper. As a matter of fact, the sauce had oozed pretty much everywhere. I had to put it on a plate and use a knife and fork (really would have been inconvenient if I wanted to eat in the park). The meat was ok but it tasted strangely spongy. The salad was decent. I just don't think what I purchased was worth $10.50; it was pretty mediocre.

We found this place by accident and yes it was just awesome. We just loved their veggie option. The staff a little simple but very friendly. The manager/owner spoiled us with a free dessert as it was my birthday! The Turkish Coffee had a hint of vanilla in it. Never tasted it like this before and yes it was prepared perfectly. Definitely a nice place to come back to.

Simple but comfortable restaurant with excellent food. The environment is pleasant and spacious. The menu includes a good variety of Arabic cuisine. The food was very tasty and the portions were quite generous. The mezze with a giant candy bread was very popular, and the gigantism of the bread is an attraction. Dessert, a house offering, is “well-made rice pudding without a lot of sugar. Service is friendly but a little slow.

Very friendly and fresh food. Great calm place to grab a bite to eat. Definetly worth it if you are in the area!

Food is similar to Turkish food, home made and yummy owner is kind and nice He gave us free dessert as well, just to be nice

During our visit in the area for a wedding, we decided to stop for a bite for lunch before checking into our hotel room. Upon stumbling across this hidden gem, we decided to pull up at reviews to have a gauge on what we should order. That said we also opted for an appetizer and loved every single aspect of our meals. If in the area I highly recommend that you give this a try. Outdoor seating is available and there is free valet parking.

As someone who's had their esophagus (food pipe) removed, food is life! In the last 6 years, I've had to live on liquid food for at least 2 of the 6 years; you may say that I really appreciate food. It was after my surgeon gave me permission to finally eat food for the first time (months after my esophagectomy) in June of 2015, I drove straight to Cafe Agora from Emory Midtown. I asked the General Manager (GM) to fix me a small portion of a couple of my favorite dishes. The GM (who had come to see me in the hospital with flowers) sent me home with 5 containers of food. I ate with glee!!! Yes, it was a bit too much for my healing internals and I did end up throwing up a bit a few minutes after eating but that was all part of my healing journey. My favorites are honestly everything on the menu, except they really need to ditch the Tilapia (disgusting fish). The best is to show up with a group of friends and let the GM bring you a few platters to share and everyone splits the bill in the end! Also, love their turkish coffee, wine and beer selections. If you haven't been to my Soul Food place in Atlanta, please do. Wishing you a fabulous 2017!!!

We went to Café Agora for lunch and it was enjoyable. It happened to be quiet that day so our service was very good. Gyro sandwich excellent as was the baklava. We happened there by chance and no doubt it does well with dinner. Expansive menu. I would truly rank higher than average. Worth the visit.

The food was amazing! Great options & everyone at the table left happy with their meals. Definitely would eat here again & recommend.

I visited Cafe Agora on a whim - I just wanted a gyro - so I took a chance on a restaurant that was nearby. What a find!!! The portions are generous, the service great. At the last minute, I added an order of stuffed grape leaves and I am so glad I did. They were the best ever - flavorful, melt in your mouth goodness!!! I mentioned my 'discovery' to my son (he's a chef) who informed me that he has dined there several times and loves the food. He took his sister there yesterday and now she wants all three of us to go together. You can tell when food is prepared with skill AND love and Cafe Agora is such a place.

This restaurant is located my the Margaret Mitchell home. It is a small place, where you order at the front counter and receive your food at your table. The majority of the seating is up a flight of stairs. I had a chicken gyro and my wife had a falafel pita. We shared a spinach pie. The food was very good, and this place is a very good value. The gentleman at the counter was very nice, and helped us when we had trouble with a meter outside (parking is free across the street, at the bank).

Stumbled upon this place while exiting the Midtown Marta station. The falafel and the ladyfinger dessert were to die for. This place is definitely worth stopping by.

We were in this area a bit before noon on a Sunday, primarily to visit the Christkindl holiday market thing in Buckhead Village. After an initial stroll through there, nothing really drew me in food-wise. We had walked by Café Agora on the way there; it was only 2 doors (or empty lots) down the street, so we opted to have lunch there. I've seen this place for a while. I have not visited Buckhead with anything approaching frequency for a long time, so I'm not sure exactly how long this place has been here; their website didn't say. It feels like it has been there for a while, though. They appeared to have their own (small) parking lot. There is parking available nearby in decks and on-street (both for a fee). They appeared to have limited patio seating, but the weather was cold with some light drizzle, so no one was going for that. They have a large interior dining room and appeared to have some bar seating as well (though it was closed off at the time). The menu had a surprising array of choices given that it was basically just one page. In addition to a few sorts of gyros, they also had fish, at least a couple of types of kabobs, a decent selection of appetizers, etc. We both went for the gyro, which also included a small salad. The portion size wasn't overwhelming, but neither was it skimpy. I didn't particularly want leftovers but I was able to finish my plate without feeling overly full. The gyro itself was very flavorful. Both of us enjoyed our salads; they were small, but with a large variety of vegetables. Prices were not outrageous despite their location in Buckhead. I was expecting a rather average dining experience here, but was quite pleasantly surprised. I will definitely keep this place in mind should I be in Buckhead again at meal-time.

Stopped for a salad and Falafel gyro.Generous portion, with nice salad And bottomless soda available. Service really quick and quality was impressive for the price.

We stopped in for our son's birthday lunch/dinner bit was an excellent experience. The staff could not have been nicer, nor the food more enjoyable. We will definitely be back!

It's small and it's clean. The options are numerous so I went with the Mix Mez, a sample platter. Not one thing on it that I didn't like. The pita basket had to be replenished because the portions were so generous. A delightful meal when you want something on the lighter side. Just one block behind the Regency Suites.

Barely cafeteria atmosphere, but food was very good and reasonably priced, even using plastic ware. I go back.

The best Greek and Turkish food I have ever had. First location is in Buckhead, and the mid-town location great too. Located just behind Marget Mitchell house parking on the very quite street is available or you can park in the Delta Credit Union parking (look for Cafe Agora on the spaces). I always order the Maza platter (Combination plate of humus, eggplant salad, babaganush, ezme, kisir, and piyaz) I could live on these items. Such top quality and just the best. They have a daily special, but if you have never tried a "real" gyro, try them here. You will be spoiled for life. The kebabs are wonderful too, but everything is great, just order your favorite. I can not resist the Pistachio Baklava 'fistikli'. but tried a sample of the rice pudding and it was the best I ever tasted. I make it here a few times a month (sometimes just for take out before I have to head home to the "burbs" ) and everyone I have taken here has loved the food and the great service. It is not fancy, but a great place to hang after work, grab lunch on Sunday or pre or post game nosh spot. If you are not sure about something ask for a sample, they go out of their way to make you feel welcome. If you love yourself, friends or family go and bring the loved ones along. You will all be happy. Casual setting, perfect food and service.

Great food, low price, full of flavour. The place os simple, but clean and with friendly service. Try the falafel and the lamb gyro. It's worth visiting.

On a recent trip to Atlanta, we had several meals at this little restaurant and the food is spectacularly good. The mezze platter in particular is simply outstanding. The restaurant is very unassuming on the outside but offers excellent food.

Stopped in on a mid-week evening for a late light dinner with my wife. We decided to share the Agora Mixed Grill platter. Everything was wonderful. The meat was well seasoned and prepared. The beef/lamb gyro was very tasty; as was the chicken and lamb sis kabob, adana kabob, and kafta kabob. The salad and rice was very good and they had no problem not putting the feta cheese on the salad (since one of us doesn't like feta). The feta was also shredded which was interesting and very good. One of the highlight was the tzatziki sauce which was very flavorful, smooth and not watery. We will definitely go back to try the falafal, which the waiter told me is more Middle Eastern in preparation than Israeli.

This location isn't as great as the Buckhead location but can be relied on for good Mediterranean food in Midtown. Their gyros, falafel and kabobs are all solid choices. Would recommend the lamb gyro to start.

Went for lunch, eat at counter looking out to the street. Had a meat assortment, with tasty spices and a vegetable pie. For dessert we shared a rice pudding, mmhh. Price is right and food is delicious. A must stop.

We always enjoy the food at Cafe Agora. I generally get the lamb gyro and its always excellent. Its a small place with upstairs seating and some tables outside if the weather cooperates.

Cage Agora was a great find. It is a small space but it has seating upstairs and outside when the weather is nice. Food is very fresh and flavorful and there are lots of options. It is average price for the area but portions are pretty decent. It won't disappoint!

Walked over for lunch. Small, no-frills, order at counter. Ordered a chicken gyro ($7.50, or $10.50 lunch special - fries + drink) which was delicious and the service was so quick.

Great food and the prices are really affordable! I think they have the best gyros in the entire city!

Today for lunch I ordered a beef and lamb gyro sandwich (large), and a side of hummus for takeout. When I got everything back to our condo (more than half a mile walk) everything was still warm and in perfect condition. The gyro sandwich was just the sandwich and NOT the lunch special. This sandwich was huge; wrapped in foil, it was still warm when I opened it. Piled high with meat, lettuce, and onions with a lot of sauce. Absolutely great! The hummus was a good-sized plastic container that was 3/4 full with a garnish on top. Accompanying it was a foil with two fresh pitas just for the hummus. Their hummus is creamy and outstanding! Even though I worked out and walked to the restaurant, I still had plenty of hummus left over for snacking tonight after a concert. Will definitely go back. Very friendly service, very genuine people.

Could quite possibly be the best beef gyro I've ever had! This place is definitely a hidden gem that only the locals know. If your in midtown, west of Piedmont Park, stop in for a gyro then stroll over to the park for an epic afternoon!

We like to stop here before an evening at the Margret Mitchell House. The staff is charming, the food is wonderful and the prices are a bargain. It is the best fast casual experience in Atlanta. Be sure to have a Turkish beer with your meal!

My wife and I spent a weekend in Atlanta and stayed in a Buckhead-area hotel. We passed by the Agora on our way in, and decided to give it a try. Both the service and the food were just wonderful. My wife had the grilled salmon - done to perfection, and I had the chick kabobs with rice. The meats were juicy, tender and perfectly cooked. The rice was just right. Parking was easy and accessible to the door, and our server was especially helpful and attentive. It was, by chance, a perfect late-summer evening: warm, dry and clear. Being so close to shops, business, and hotels was a big plus. We'll certainly be back -thank you!

I'm currently in Atlanta on Business and staying at the Four Seasons. Having a hunger and being in the mood for Mediterranean food I googled "Kebab" and Cafe Agora came up. Being approximately a 10 minute walk in 90 degree heat from my Hotel was almost a deterrent but I'm glad I didn't change my mind. I walked in and was warmly greeted, I ordered the Lamb and Beef Gyro platter as I was very hungry which came to around $16. After a couple of minutes it was brought out and wow !!! The most succulent, tasty and well seasoned lamb and beef I've had in quite some time, fresh rice, very crisp fresh vegetables for the salad with nice fresh warm Pita. Even the dressing was outstanding !! I have to come here again before I leave and sample more of their food...and you must do the same !!!

My favorite Mediterranean food spot just walking distance from Atlanta downtown, delicious multiple choices of fresh food, also great choice for VEGETERIAN FOOD, the Manager Mr Beram makes sure all his guest are happy, the portions are large and the price is very reasonable for amazing quality fresh food, highly recommended to try

Went there because we wanted a bite to eat, before our tour at the Margaret Mitchell house. Two of us ate for $20. I had the Falafel Platter and enjoyed it. You are served quickly. You can sit upstairs, or outside. Definitely a good place to go, if you are visiting the Margaret Mitchell House.

I had the moussaka and my wife had a gyro. There was more food than one could possible eat at one meal and it was all spiced, seasoned and served nicely. We will go back

This restaurant may not be much to look at, but the food is incredible. Best gyros in Atlanta, and one of the few restaurants across the nation that I have found Iskender. Their Iskender is perfect. The staff is friendly and if you have a longer than expected "wait time," you won't care once you're eating the delicious food.

Met a friend here for lunch while on business and it was the best meal i had in atlanta. You order at the counter and can sit inside, upstairs or outside. Excellent food, salad is an option for those who dont want fries (which i always appreciate) good location by MARTA midtown stop. Highly recommend and id go back when next in atlanta.

Great start with Mezze platter appetizer gives you a taste of a lot of different items and warm pita is done well. Felafel was really good and not over cooked as can happen elsewhere. Gyro plate was nicely done. Dessert rice dish is definitely worth trying. Your taste buds will be happy you did. Good service. Definitely eating here again.

This is a less than casual restaurant - you can eat outside or upstairs or just do take out. The food is always very good and fresh
"Authentic Mediterranean Food"
Really enjoyed the fresh food in this laid back casual restuarant. The food is the real deal, try the sampler platter, very filling and leave room for the baklava it's delicious. The restaurant is nothing fancy with just a few tables and chairs but worth the visit. The owner is very attentive to his customers. They also have a nice selection of wines. Take the drive and enjoy the food.
