Amazing BBQ place, first time being there. The meat were amazing. I didn't expect them to cook my meat for me. I'm so used to cooking my own meat. It was different. Different side dishes that I have never try before, was a big fan of the side dishes. The cost was more then I thought just because most Korean places I've been to charge by the person. But over it was good.

Came here at 1:30pm. Was told the wait was 20-30 minutes. An hour later, still waiting. We went inside to check, it's about 2/3 full. Plenty of empty tables even a big table. But we were told that they don't open those tables. The one and only big table we were waiting, the customers stopped eating already but were just sitting around. But still, they wouldn't open the other tables. If you have a big group, I recommend you go elsewhere.

Amazing bbq. Everything tasted great Even see a Korean celebrity lol. I wish we could find bbq like this in Toronto!

Legit korean BBQ. Service was good. Food portions were decent. Tasted amazing. Kids loved it and the adults did too. Parking was convenient being right behind the restaurant.

This is an authentic Korean BBQ restaurant. There are grills in the center of the tables. You order the meat and it comes raw to be cooked on the table. Comes with a variety of sides including rice and vegetable and kimchee. Beware: not much for a vegetarian to eat.

So, the place has a wait time if you go on a busy day/night so, be prepared for that. Once we got inside, we quickly saw they didn't have a "All you can eat" portion so if you're looking that, it's not here. The food was nicely prepared and great quality.

The food here was good--My wife and I always have gopchang when we eat KBBQ, so we were looking forward to checking out this place. It's not AYCE, as has been noted, and the wait staff was quick to point that out, and subsequently to give us a hard time about doneness. We capitulated, interested to experience this place's food the way they wanted us to experience it, and it was fine. I think that, had my wife not been Korean (and conversing with the waiter partially in Korean) there would have been a full-on eye-rolling lecture about How to Eat Gopchang. I've had better--which is not to insult this place, just to let you know you have options. And at the other places, you even have options in terms of how you like your gopchang cooked. Here, not so much.

Great experience, my family and I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere offered at this place S/O to Glenn our waiter he was phenomenal .

We were a party of six on Friday, June 16th. We signed up to be seated at 9pm for an hour long wait. We were seated before the hour wait time arrived. We ordered two large combos with drinks! Royce was the best server we have ever experienced in all of Koreatown. Royce had to go on break (dude, you totally deserve it) and the assistant manager Victor took over. They forgot to give us our egg custard and soups. We were fine with waiting. While we were finishing our soup Victor came to the table and says, "so are you guys done or just hanging out?" which I guess was his awkward way of saying he needed the table. Although we did not see anyone waiting in line outside. I don't think people like Victor should be in a supervisory position when they themselves lack tact and basic customer service skills. If anything he could have apologized that part of our order was late rather than trying to rush us out while food was still steaming hot on our table. The food was excellent. Royce was excellent. This review would have been 5 stars across the board had it not been for Victor. Too bad. I hope most customers will never have to deal with Victor.

For me I didn’t enjoy this restaurant as they only serve pork and red meat. But my husband loved it! He said it was the best meal while in LA. The only problem we had is nothing was explained so we had to guess a lot of things. But my husband would return, me on the other hand I’d rather somewhere else.

We were very excited to try this restaurant after hearing about it. We didn't wait long at all to be seated, and the food was excellent with great prices! Our server was Johnathan, and he was very friendly and helpful. We will be back the next time we visit LA from Las Vegas!

Food is to die for, it's great how the cooked is cooked in front of you on your own table. Really great service with friendly staff that explain everything for first timers

If you been to the parent store Kang Ho Dong, this restaurant style won't surprise you with the quality of meat and Gochang served. Always loved Gopchang, but most KBBQ don't "pre-treat" or pre-cooked them, so try to enjoy them without waiting over 30 min or burned out your grill 3x is almost impossible. We loved how everything was prepared( precooked)marinated , so is easy to enjoy without burning it out. The service is prompt, music is loud as usual. There isn't many of them in East side, just wish they would open one soon enough in my area!

Being a sister restaurant of Kang Ho Dong's Baek Jeong, of course we had to check it out. Our thoughts are the BBQ is definitely much better tasting than Baek Jeong's The meat is fresh and tasty, and if you are adventurous there is the more traditional Korean styled cow "organs" that you can also try. Service is top notch, servers cook your meats and are always ready to help and take your requests. Portions are also huge, so be prepared to get a food comma.

I had been wanting to try Korean food for quite some time. So I looked up top restaurants in Koreatown, and I got a list. This restaurant was listed as #2. I chose this one instead of #1, because it seemed to offer Korean BBQ, whereas the other one did not. I was greeted at the door, and the young girl seemed a little confused. Apparently, the seating is normally for 2 and over, so I being myself was not the norm. I was driving home from a work related trip in SD, so I was a lone at the time. When I sat down, I was attended by a waiter and I explained to him that this was my first time. Considering that they were very busy, he still took time to explain some of the sides. After some looking, I finally chose my both entrees. The meat was brought over and he began to grill it and cut it. After some grilling, it was ready for me to eat. The meat tasted great. Several waiters alternated to grill the meat. So it appears that it's a collective effort to make good food. In the end it was great and I really enjoyed it. The only problem is that there was a mixup at the end and I almost left without paying. So that was a little embarrassing. I always say that if you're trying an ethnic food, and you see that a lot of the people eating there are of that particular ethnicity, then the authenticity must be there. I was probably the only person there who was using a fork to eat--besides a few kids who haven't mastered it yet lol. I would definitely recommend.

We had a great family meal here - delicious beef and beef tongue (we tried a number of options). Lovely side dishes especially the not too spicy kimchee which cuts through the meaty tastes nicely. I also enjoyed the complimentary barley tea (caffeine free). Service very attentive, staff do the cooking for you even at busy times (when you will need to wait for a table, no reservations). My sister in law says she can't go back to all you can eat BBQ now as the quality is so much better here. I'm no expert but she is! Would return without hesitation and would come hungry. I didn't pay but value seemed good for the quality offered. Useful valet parking service out back.

Cancer looks very chic at this Korean BBQ place. Smoke is NOT everywhere thanks to their ventilation system. They have mobile ones at each table that you can pull down and push up, yet you will smell like smoke after eating here. It's the trade-offs I am willing to make to get delicious food and cancer at the same time. As the name indicates, they are known for gopchang and that's definitely up my alley. Not many Korean BBQ restaurants offer this combo, so I jump right on it. The intestines are well cleaned and do not smell at all. They are chewy when cooked. Yummy all around. I order the beef combo and gopchang combo. Their portion is pretty modest, but that will not stop me from coming here to try gopchang again. Oh and they have valet parking that you need to pay for.

This is a high-end Korean restaurant and they cook your food in front of you on the grill in the center of the table. They mostly serve meat dishes that they can BBQ for you plus all the fixings.

I was part of a group of 4 who went at 6PM on New Year's Eve - there were 3 or 4 parties ahead of us on the wait list (they don't take reservations) and we waited about half an hour before getting seated. We did a beef and pork combo and it was more than enough food for 4 people since you also get a lot of sides, including rice and 2 kinds of stew (we had the kimchi and soybean paste stews). Our waiter was really helpful since we were new to Korean BBQ and he was awesome at bringing the next meats at the right times and paying attention to rotating and letting us know when they were done even though he had several other tables. We really enjoyed the meal and it felt like quite an experience since the meat is cooked in front of you at the table. It seemed like we got good portions and sides for the value as well - go hungry and I would recommend this place for awesome food and service if you want some authentic Korean BBQ in Koreatown.

Went here for dinner tonight. We've been regulars here for the past few years. Great food and setting. A bit different than other Korean BBQ restaurants, especially the banchan (the side dishes). Not the typical variety but more specialized into a few distinct, unique flavors. The meat combos are a good bargain. We had the beef combo as well as an extra order of beef galbi tonight. The grill is gas powered but has charcoal which adds that extra bit of flavor. Looking forward to the next time there!

Having never tried Korean bbq food before, a friend and I thought it would be perfect opportunity on a visit to LA as we would be staying in Koreatown. I'm pleased to say it was a great experience! We arived at Ahgassi Gopchang on a busy Friday night and were told it would be 15-20mins before a table would be available. In reality, it was no more than 5mins before we were seated. The place was packed (always a good sign) and had a really lively and relaxed atmosphere. We ordered the beef combo and opted for brisket and steak. The meet was brought out on trays and cooked right there on a bbq in the middle of the table. Various sides including Kimchi stew, salad and rice were brought out as well. The food was delicious having a great combination of flavours and spices. The steak was very tender. Portion size was generous. The Korean beer was really good as well. The service was quick and staff were very attentive during our visit which helped us a lot given that this was our first experience of Korean food. It won't be our last!

My daughter and I had Korean barbeque here tonight because our first choice restaurant had seven or so large groups waiting to get in. So,we walked down the street and decided to try this place. A good sign was that this large restaurant was predominantly filled with asians eating away and from the noise level having a real good time. So, we went in and like the others, we enjoyed the barbeque immensely. Very tasty meats, and side dishes and dipping sauce. The whole staff was super efficient and even cooked the meats for us. All we had to do was stuff our faces and believe me it was easy to do since everything was so tasty.

One of the best korean bbq I've ever had! Everyone should try their large intestine - the taste is amazing!

I'm was visiting from Oakland where I eat Korean a few times a month! Although, I prefer Oakland to LA... LA has amazing Korean. We received great service, side dishes where served immediately. Our waitress was super helpful and sweet. The side dishes were different from what I had expierncedbin Oakland. White kimchi instead of red. No plain lettuce for wraps but a salad instead (very tasty), sememe leaves for wraps, pickled onion and sweet potatoes. We got the beef combo for 2. It came with 4 types of meat, egg soufflé, stew!! It was great! I would definitely go back again

This is not an AYCE restaurant and that's a good thing. The quality and selection of meat was outstanding. The restaurant was busy and we had a very large group but the staff was friendly and attentive. They cooked all of the food for us and suggested stuff we should try or would like based off what we ordered. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The wait time wasn't too bad, about 30-40 minutes for 15+, and we found parking on the street. The restaurant offers valet parking in their own lot which also happens to be where the entrance is located. I will definitely eat here again the next time I'm in LA.
Check your belt at the door!
This Korea town restaurant has the best bbq in town! We ordered the Gal bi lunch and there was so much meat, mushrooms, cellophane noodles, greens and all the goodies that come with a Korean meal. Service was really good and friendly. They cooked our meat on the table top stove and suggestions on how to eat the meal. Wrapped in nori and stuffed with all the yummy stuff from the stove! The gas stove to cook the bbq was clean and the vents were sleek and quiet. It was never smoky inside. On a quiet corner by the post office, this is a must stop if you are in Korea town! So loosen up your belt notch or better yet check your belt at the door!
