Very friendly owner

By Joseph K |

We wandered into this cafe because it was close to Ramada Inn and nothing was nearby walking distance. We had taco salad and it was delicious. But the owner was so friendly. The Boyd's coffee was spectacular.

Great Chowder on Friday

By NBleds |

We had just flown in to Portland and were staying at the Ramada Airport Inn. We needed a bit of lunch and the hotel suggested the Airport Cafe. It is located in a small strip business area between the Ramada & Radisson. We walked to the Cafe and ordered their clam chowder(only on Friday) and a sandwich. The chowder was delicious. Maybe we were just hungry, but it made a big impression and we really wanted to eat there again. We didn't get a chance but we thought it was one of the best chowders we had on our trip and we tried the chowder at at least 8 different restaurants in Portland, Bend, Yachats, Depoe, & Astoria. Good job Airport Cafe!

Good eatery overall!

Prices and food are good. Service average. Atmosphere is clean, quiet and pleasant. Menu has a good variety of items to choose from.

Great hidden gem among the airport hotels

By Patti G |

I saw reviews for this place before I came and I'm glad I visited. You'll be greeted personally by the owner, who is very attentive to her each and every customer, able to call many by name and knowing their favorite dishes. I like that in a place, it shows careful attention to quality and hospitality. The food was excellent. I had a hearty and silky bowl of mushroom soup and a perfect vegetarian sandwich. I saw lots of regulars and that's a good sign. Prices are very reasonable. It's decor is quite functional and basic, but who cares? Just a great spot to get great food.

Light Breakfast at the Airport Cafe

By Eye-on-ocean |

Stopped by for a light breakfast before heading to the airport. They have sit-down where you order at the counter and then the food is brought to your table. Nice variety of breakfast offerings, not by quantity, but by choices from a breakfast sandwich to egg, French toast and pancakes. Self serve coffee is very good. Place was very clean and the staff friendly and efficient and their prices are very reasonable. Would definitely return. Place is somewhat off the beaten track for an eatery since it is in a light industrial park near PDX.

Great breakfast for travelers

By Jama F |

This is a family owned little restaurant. A number of nearby hotels offer no breakfast or just continental. If you want a hearty breakfast at a friendly place at a reasonable price, please drop in here. Sorry but it's closed on Saturday and Sunday. Locals patronize at lunch. That menu looks good and also the price is right.

Airport quaity meals

THIS RESTAURANT HAS A WIDE VARIETY OF DINNER OFFERINGS. All of them are great a real gem for an airport restaurant, There is an associated wine bar which serves regional wines.

good food, quick and clean

good experience. quick food turn around for breakfast and clean. Friendly service. That's it....................

A nice little cafe...out of the way.

By Airbus_CFI |

The restaurant is located in a small office park and one might have to drive around a bit to find the place. The restaurant was very quiet this morning. It is also spotlessly clean. However, it appears that the place is much livelier at lunch, based on the menu. The Asian gentleman who took my order was very nice, too. I ordered #2 breakfast...two eggs, sausage (link), hash browns and coffee. One is handed a cup and the coffee is in a "pump it yourself" thermos. The coffee is HOT...perfect. My only complaint was there is only powdered creamer. My meal arrived and, for $12.00 was a good value. By the time I left, there were four more patrons for breakfast.

Great Quick Breakfast Diner

By Shelley D |

We visited here 2 days in a row as we needed to be in downtown Portland just after 8Am. Great breakfast, fast and right by the hotel. Staff is friendly. Oatmeal was very warm and delicious on a cold February morning.

Quick and Easy

By Barb S |

Luckily, they stayed open a bit past 2pm so we could get a late lunch. Caesar salad with chicken was fresh and correctly dressed. Turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce hit the spot. Very friendly staff and quick service.

Great Little Place

By blacklab1601 |

This is a great place to grab breakfast or lunch. Genuinely friendly staff who are really concerned about the quality of their food. The menu has all of the usual breakfast fare very well prepared and at reasonable prices. There are some really fascinating nontraditional items that I hope I get a chance to try. It's a mom and pop bus your own table sort of place with some really good food; almost worth a trip out to the airport even if you're not flying. Highly recommended.

Surprisingly good cafe near the airport

By Qpgmr |

Small cafe tucked into a business park near the airport - easy access from the freeways. The food was fresh, service fast, coffee delicious. Take a break on the way into the city from the airport here - you won't regret it.

Excellent made-from-scratch foods with a smile!

By Flavorchick |

We stopped for a quick lunch before our flight from PDX and were not disappointed. The special of the day was a turkey sandwich made from, GASP, real turkey!!! Lunch was quick and the owner operator was very friendly. The exterior is not much to look at (utilitarian strip center), but ignore that and eat at the Airport Cafe.

Great and plentiful food

By Single |

Open for breakfast and lunch only. WALKING distance from Radisson Hotel Portland Airport. Sandwich was big, delicious and filling, breakfast next day also the same. Sue the owner is nice to speak with and the food was also well priced for quality and quantity. If you are staying near the Portland Airport don't pass it up and worth finding as it is located in a small business district. Will stop again when in town.

Great lunch place

By Jeff D |

On Thursdays they have fresh turkey sandwiches. They're GREAT!! Their bread is always very fresh and the service is quick!

Been eating here over 20 years

By AudK24 |

The original owners daughter now runs it. She's made some good changes, maybe a few some folks don't like. But the food is consistently good, quick, and affordable. My faves are the tuna sandwich, garden medley sandwich, and the selection of sides. Fresh fruit or a veggie tray side is a good pick. Specials are also good with sizeable portions. Order a soupwich and get half a sandwich with either cup of soup or side salad. Some swear by the hungarian mushroom. Not my kind of soup but a lot of people love it. Can't beat fresh roast turkey either. Great value.

Wonderful stagf

By Aimee T |

Went with co-workers and wish I had more time to consider the menu as they looked like they had more interesting stuff than what I ended up ordering. Got a basic turkey sandwich but it was fresh roasted turkey so that was nice. A very "regulars" kind of place. Best part was the counter lady, super friendly! Very quick service!

Best customer service ever

By katherinevogl94 |

I go to the airport cafe at least 3 to 4 times a month, working across the street doesn't help my temptation! I absolutely love Sue, she is such a hard worker and so sweet, always remembers who I am, and gets my order right every time. She is greatly appreciated, as is the rest of the staff!!

Great favorite local cafe

By southam97 |

I am staying in a nearby hotel, and this place is around the corner. I was amazed how, busy it was with locals at 11:00 AM on a Tuesday! That speaks volumes to me. Very casual place, very busy. Wide range of homemade dishes, and all very reasonably priced. And delicious! My only issue was that they do not serve decaf coffee :-( For the casual local diner, this is amazing

Wedding trip

Very friendly server and good food. We were in and out in a short amount of time which was great as we were tired. The food was also very good along with the price.

Good apps

By pperkinsnh |

We had apps and a cocktail comp'ed, and tried the chicken strips. They were not the frozen breaded type, and were great. Fries too.

There are not many choices at this Airport...

By Josh C |

So, you pick the best option available. This is it. Good service but greasy food is most of the menu... Better than nothing!!

Great place for breakfast

By William S Y |

Had breakfast here twice. Service, food and prices were very good. The coffee was much better than our hotel's coffee. The french toast comes with bacon or sausage. I tried both; however, the bacon was precooked and served cold. I requested some peanut butter and they provided a small cup at no additional charge. The man who took our order and served our food was pleasant and talked to us about the various places he had lived when he noticed my western belt buckle.

Realistic prices, fresh food!

By PRB |

A wonderful place for breakfast or lunch, especially if at one of the airport hotels. Within walking distance of The Radisson. Super friendly owner and a fun place to dine!

good food for low prices

By trevor-wa |

they are only open until 3pm, but if you are staying at the radisson or ramada you should grab breakfast or lunch here

Nice owner, disappointing food.

By beergardenboy |

We came here because of some high ratings on TA as well as Yelp. Wow, what a bunch of rubbish. The turkey artichoke panini. Extremely bland with hardly any artichoke on it. It wasn't bad, just not good. There was enough turkey on the sandwich but no artichoke. Wife had the Garden Oriental Salad. The person there (we think the owner) said it had crunchy things and some cashew nuts ("she thinks"). Salad comes out and looks good, with nice tomatoes and greens. But the dressing was just an oil and vinegar, no asian/oriental taste whatsoever. And she said there might have been 5 cashews in the salad. The owner, possibly sensing my less than thrilled feel for the food approached the table and said the bread might be a little too "crispy", and asked if I wanted a bowl of soup or something to go with it. I said no thanks, thinking that the sandwich was so disappointing, soup was not really going to help, plus it was like 90 outside, not a soup day. To be clear, she was very nice and wanting to accommodate. But we have enough friends, we were just looking for a good lunch instead of the totally funky IKEA meatballs. I mentioned the "Oriental" salad did not taste Oriental. So she quickly goes and gets some sesame dressing. That wasn't all that Oriental either. So we originally went here on our way to IKEA. Looking for something better than the IKEA meatballs. We did not find it at the Airport Cafe. Sad.

Nice homestyle cooking

I had breakfast at the Airport Cafe and it was great! Super nice people working there also! Service was great, and the food was even better. Just wished they opened later 'cause I'd come back for dinner!

Good breakfast at great prices

By TMSZ |

This place was a bit hard to find, I walked right by it thinking it would be out on the main road. Nope. It is kind of buried in a small office park. Odd location based on what I am accustomed to on the Detroit area, but maybe this is more common in Portland. Once I found it I was not disappointed. I'm thankful I don't have a place like this near home or I would be eating a breakfast here everyday and getting fat. I had a #3 breakfast and it was excellent. Pancakes, eggs and bacon. Cooked perfect for $5.95, with coffee the total was $7.70. Crazy cheap. Good place!

Stopped by as we rounded the corner from our hotel.

Nice reviews were bolstered by our visit; Sue greeted us, asked if we were first-timers and made suggestions for food and what protocol was. This restaurant does not wait on tables: you place your order cafeteria-style and then they bring it to your table. We both decided on the #2 breakfast with eggs, choice of meat and toast, hashbrowns. Coffee is included in the $7. The food was quickly prepared and brought to our table. Sue checked on our satisfaction; we were happy. It was obvious that other diners were regulars, as Sue greeted them by name as they entered and was aware of favorite foods.. Our eggs were perfectly cooked; hashbrowns were ample; sausage could have been browned more. Sourdough toast was especially tasty! We will return :)
