I was so impressed with this restaurant on my first visit that I scheduled a department dinner here with over twenty people and they all loved it. Personally, I am a beef eater; however, I ordered the broiled blackened cod and I was amazed and glad I did. I was so impressed that I ordered the cod again. By the way, the aki duck spring roll appetizers are an incredible beginning to a wonderful evening.

Great japanese restaurant located in the center of phillly. With the opportunity to have an all you can eat menu at 27$ (plus beer at 4$) the quantity and quality of the food compared to the final price is great!! Good location and courtesy of the staff.

Great food. We enjoyed suishi rolls and bento noodles. Small restaurant with a big feel. Plenty of staff to help!

Excellent food and service! Very family friendly and within walking distance from many locations in the heart of the city. The calamari was very nice and the Spring Rolls were light and very flavor able. My favorite was the Seafood Miso soup with the Spicy Spider rolls and Lobster Mazy rolls a close second. For my palate, the Spicy Tuna roll was just OK. Our server was excellent and attentive. We will come here again the next time we are in Philly.

My son and I were staying in Philly overnight when he had to visit Wills Eye Hospital. He requested ramen for dinner and we found this place and we both loved it! Everyone was so friendly, and the service was very efficient. Best of all, the ramen was delicious - best we've ever had. Not to mention the tempura-battered chocolate ice cream for dessert was fantastic! We can't wait to go back!

This was the closest place from my apartment so i decided to give it a shot, the All you can eat sushi is 28.99 per person , the options are ok anyway the sushi rice was soggy, some of the fish was burn, some others were hard as a rock, chewy , it was disgusting, i am never coming back, now i feel sick after eating here.

Soooo good. Only place we could find and it was perfect - really good ramen and drinks, really friendly staff

The only thing we don't recommend is the special rolls, they're small and too pricey for their size. Otherwise, everything was tasty and the service was fantastic!

I was sitting at the bar next to Melissa and enjoyed wonderful sushi and sake. The sushi was fresh and the servers were very friendly and fast. There was a all you can eat special which I enjoyed as I could keep ordering when I wanted more. The rule is that you must eat all you order. Not a problem for me since it would spoil anyway if I would take it home to Europe ;-) Thanks again for the food and lovely conversation and I'll be back.

My friend and I went here for lunch and it definitely hit the spot. We were in the mood for sushi and she told me that she'd been there before. It definitely didn't disappoint and I felt satisfied, but not sickeningly sick afterwards. We decided to go with the sushi buffett. Great choice!

We did takeaway of 3 Special Rolls and the Sashimi Special. Very satisfied with the former, despite having to add several dollars for each of the Rolls. It was money well-spent! The Sashimi turned out OK but was not really worth the price we paid. BTW the name of the restaurant as spelled out in Trip Advisor should be corrected and updated. Pl. add Nom Nom to Aki -- the names of the 2 restaurants which have merged!

After a 9 hour international flight I like to have a healthy meal. In the US the only thing I can usually find is Sushi. After walking about for an hour I happened across Aki. The menu looked good and it seemed to have been a good value. I ordered Spicy Tuna rolls, Salmon rolls and Avocado rolls with a green tea. The rolls we good, but the fish didn't look as fresh as I would have liked. The green tea was below average. The waiter was friendly, but clearly new and had the entire restaurant as his "station", so he was a little frazzled. All in all it was what I needed. The food was "good", not great, and it was good value for money

Was in Philadelphia on the 22nd and after seeing great reviews on Yelp my husband and myself decided to give you a try. First let me say..we eat sushi *a lot*, and honestly, this was the best I've ever had! The nigiri was fantastically fresh and great cuts. The Samurai and Osaka rolls were absolutely to die for! And of course I couldn't pass up the Philly roll! Planning on returning in March for my Birthday and will DEFINITELY return to Aki.

Went there, had all you can eat sushi. While décor and service is pretty good, the sushi itself were just OK. Not to mention that most special rolls are not included ($2.50 extra each).

We took our parents and siblings to this All-you-can-eat Sushi restaurant in Center city. Sushi are done freshly after ordering - so its not a Sushi Buffett where the rolls sit on the counter forever. Instead, the sushi is only done when ordered. The All-you-can-eat price comes with Appetizer too for only $27 + tax. Delicious! If you have a large family (and have a great appetite), it was definitely worth eating there. Service was friendly. We will be back!

The Aki rolls were superb as was every piece of tender suchi we ordered. Some of the excellent rolled delicacies were spicy as advertised, others more plain loved by the young kids. The three adults took the $25 All You Can Eat Special where we discovered that the suchi chef was extremely generous with portions and in perfect proportion, too. Late afternoon with extended family - staff and seating were kid-friendly. The two dishes of ice cream for the girls were huge yet beautifully arranged with lovely drizzles of sauce on the plates' edges. The rest of uf ate suchi and caviar rolls with crab and more until we were truly done. Delicious tea as well as very courteous and friendly staff. The entire experience was a pleasure. STRONGLY RECOMMEND !

All you can eat sushi for $25 in Center City on a Saturday?! Excellent deal. Although I was disappointed that there's an add-on charge for specialty rolls, it's still a great deal. The sushi rolls were solid- fresh and tasted okay. While nothing was mind-blowing, I did stick with the non-special rolls like salmon avocado and spicy scallop. They also limit you to one sashimi appetizer but the sashimi is pretty good. For the price and AYCE, it's a good value. I'll be back.

Not bad place. Cheap sushi for all you can eat with your friends.

Along with a lot of sushi and rolls, they have a number of platters; chicken, shrimp steak and combinations of those for less then $20/ entree. It includes shumi, soup or salad, protein and rice. Wait staff pleasant and helpful.

Eating the best sushi I have had in a long time. This little find in Philly is a gem. The food is so fresh the staff are so polite and the place just rocks. If your in Philly and need Sushi then try this place.

I live very close by and was hoping for an amazing sushi restaurant to walk to. I was a little disappointed. For my first visit, I had a chicken teriyaki bento box. The quantity of food was impressive (and too much), but the chicken was overcooked. Everything else was good - but nothing stood out. Service was pretty poor as I was mostly ignored. On my second visit, I tried the sushi (all you can eat). They really dropped the ball here. They botched one order (and gave me something that wasn't even on the menu - weird). None of them were well prepared (rolls falling apart, etc). I walked back to the sushi bar to see the fish - which looked fine - but the room was full of flies. Gross! Service was (again) mediocre at best. They got their two strikes. I don't think I'll be heading back for a third.

This place has good sushi, sashimi and maki. I usually come at off hours and have a great experiences. Spicy, crunchy salmon roll, eel sashimi, green salad are my faves. Service is courteous.

Aoi has all-you can eat sushi...I mean...all-you can eat rice rolls. Maybe they think we are stupid and won't notice but they try to fill you up with salad and soup and follow with rolls with minute pieces of fish and mostly rice. Out of principle we will not go again. Also we did gave this place 2 chances in case the first visit was a fluke. It was not.

Whenever we are around Philadelphia, we visit Aki and order the all you can eat buffet. The price is reasonable comparing the variety available. The friendly server is constantly filling the glass with water and paying attention to our needs. Sometime we order the bento box when our appetite is limited.

My friend and I ate here while staying across the street. I had sushi and my friend had soup and salad...it was all delicious. The only downside was the service, kind of slow and not very attentive.

WOW! First time trying ramen and I was left speechless by how delicious everything was. My sister lives locally and has raved about this place so when I was up for the holidays I knew we had to finally make a trip together. We ordered the chicken dumplings, pork buns and each person chose a different ramen to try. Our server was very kind, attentive and was really helpful with explaining all the ingredients that's in the ramen. This is a great place for date night and family get-together as it was a total experience for everyone in our party.

I visited Aki for Restaurant Week since they had a good deal going on. There was SO much food, I had to take a lot of it home. Salad, miso soup, gyoza, tons of sushi, and tempura ice cream. I was surprised by the amount of sushi I got and it was all very good, so I was happy with what I got. Service was also good and wasn't too busy during lunch but not empty.

I ate here for lunch one weekday while at a conference in the city. I wanted sushi and their lunch menu drew me in. I have to say that the edamame, salad, and sushi that I got were tasty and I enjoyed the food, but the service ruined it for me. The restaurant was almost empty and my server was SUPER super slow. She was friendly enough but not attentive at all. We also sat in the back by the sushi bar and whenever our server went through a door - I'm guessing to the kitchen maybe? - a terrible garbage stench would come out and permeate the room. It was disgusting and also ruined my lunch. Maybe this place is worth getting take-out (if they offer it - not sure), but I wasn't impressed with my sit down experience.

All u can eat is not always great but here it is. Fresh fish. Beautiful presentation. Great service. Good pre-theatre spot!!

After being rudely turned away from fat salmon sushi, we came here and had a fantastic time. Our waiter Ryogu was extremely friendly and took care of us. I'm always cautious about all you can eat sushi, but for the most part it was very very good. The tuna was extremely tender, and the rolls were fun and creative. So glad we ended up having a great night.

I travel from the Langhorne area just to have sushi here. The American Dream Roll and Tiger Roll are a must!! Good service, great food

I come here often with my family and we go for the "All You Can Eat" on Saturday Nights. There is a huge variety of sushi to choose from and many different types of rolls and sashimi. I love the hand rolls and the special sushi platters like the Cancun Roll. There are also great starters to choose from like seaweed salad, Miso Soup, Edamame, etc. However, you have to finish everything on your plate and can't take sushi home. Or else, you get charged extra for pieces not finished. Overall, great food and service!

There is something about the sushi that I cannot put my finger on. They’re not the best, but edible. I did not really enjoy my sushi and could have found another place to try them out. The appetizers were really good and I’d enjoyed my green tea It was authentic and I was able to bear throughout the entire meal.

This restaurant is just next to Rodeway Inn. I sat at the Sushi bar and enjoyed watching the chefs making sushis until mine were brought to me. They were beautiful and delicious!

Very poor service! The waitress was very rude, I've never had such a bad experience in a restaurant before, I don't even know where to start. The food takes a long time to come out; she brings out the appetizer the same time as one of the entrees, so we had to wait another 15 minutes before the second entree made it to the table; she never brought me my salad, I had to ask another waitress passing by for it; we ordered a side of eel sauce with sushi and we never got it; the waitress is no where to be found we had to ask another waitress for a water refill and for the check. NEVER going back there again, there are plenty of other good food/service Japanese restaurants in the city, don't waste your time and money on this one!

I ate here during Restaurant Week and had the fixed price menu at lunch time. Unfortunately it was very meh: the avocado with pepper tuna had a single shriveled cherry tomato hiding at the bottom of the dish and carrot curls that looked like they'd passed their prime a few days prior. The Ramen main course was unimpressive and very greasy. But the real kicker was the dessert: deep fried green tea ice cream ... with a drizzle of raspberry syrup. Talk about two flavors that definitely do NOT go together! I understand chefs sometimes want to try something new, but this was definitely a swing and a miss.

Sushi was great! Wife and I both had all you could eat. Everything was fresh and the service was fast. Very convenient location in the theatre district.

I was craving ceviche and my husband found this rather hole-in-the-wall type place. The decor is more diner than a sushi place but the service was excellent and the food good; the ceviche was certainly good. The value was superb! Definitely a fantastic value and we'll be back!

I am very picky about where i get my sushi from. I picked up our lunch for work the other day and fell in love with this place. It's super clean and everyone who works there is friendly.

Best sushi I have ever had...and I love sushi! All you can eat for $28.95. Had miso soup, a maki roll, 2 specialty rolls, and a piece of sushi. Delish!

Meet some friends for dinner during restaurant week. The special menu was fiur coyrses for and was way too much food. The appetizers were great and the sushi top notch. The desserts were also good. They offer all you can eat sushi which I will explore nect time.

We made a reservation for 5pm on a Saturday, but really didn't need one. When we arrived, there were only 5 or 6 couples dining. There is a small but cute bar that sits at the front of the restaurant. The drinks we had were well made. Appetizers and food arrived quickly and were visually appealing. Both the entrées and apps were delicious. For apps we ordered the Shumai Shrimp..Excellent..and the Aki Duck Spring Roll..also excellent. We are not sushi people, so we ordered the Teriyaki Chicken and Teriyaki New York Steak. Absolutely would order this again. Just the perfect amount of sauce without an overpowering taste of teriyaki. The white rice that came with the meals was fresh and tender. We definitely would recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for something different, clean and stylish. Its very close to the Forest Theater and a brief 10-15 minute walk from City hall, Rittenhouse, or Independence hall areas. Sorry I can not help you with the sushi quality.

On a Monday evening we tried the Aki as we got inspired from the Ramen soup on the menu. Must admit, the Ramen was perfect!!! Got the spicy with chicken and loved it, tasty and freshly made. The other dish we tried where the udon noodles, loved them as well!! Try the Ramen 😊

The place is nice and the decoration is fascinating. The choice on the menu is quite limited and there are few typical Japanese dishes. The prices are not very low.

I tried the Pork Katsu (Bento Box - Tempura fried crispy cutlet with curry sauce). They offer it with chicken as well if you don't like/eat pork. This also brings 2 small, fried dumplings and small california rolls. It was delicious and price wasn't too bad.

I was on a business trip. For some reason I was craving for Japanese food. There were so many Japanese restaurants around the hotel. It was very difficult to make a choice. I saw this restaurant has all you can eat. I decided to give a try since it will cost a lot of money to order regular dinner. The restaurant itself look good. The service was very nice. I had sashimi appetizer which you could only one. It was nice. I also had fried Calamari. I also had Spicy Tuna Roll and many sushi. I was very full. I really like this place. If I have a chance to visit Philly, I will come again.

Great service great atmosphere and incredible food! So many choices of pho and so many ways to have it prepared. Along with the ability of all you can eat sushi and a regular sushi menu, they have everything your craving in one place. Great and easy to walk to and find.

After reading some reviews and finding an article that included this place as a good place to get ramen, we decided to give it a try. I had the traditional classic pork belly ramen that was made with a bone broth that cooked “36 hours”. Unfortunately it was so very bland and my ramen bowl was underwhelming. The pork belly did save the overall dish, but I was so hoping for a bowl of ramen reminiscent of the deliciousness I tasted in a Tokyo ramen house. My companions did enjoy their Kyoto chicken ramen and they finished their bowls.

While strolling the streets of Philadelphia, we found and tried this japanese restaurant for lunch. We loved the food and decided to eat there again for dinner. Our korean waiter was so nice and warm and accomodating that he willingly gave us directions pertaining the area. The restaurant just needs to clean each table very well after every guest use it and departs. I also suggest for waiters to use trays when delivering ramen to the table instead of just using their hands to bring the bowl to the table, to avoid their fingers from touching the food.

Dinner started off nicely with a glass of cold plum wine and went downhill from there. Salad was drowned in dressing. Fish in churashi all tasted the same other than the salmon and had weird flabby texture. Octopus was tasteless and too tough to eat. Would have been worth high price if food had been of better quality.

Please..C+ is a respectable grade! It delivers as expected . Ok/good quality and I don't think they pretend to be more . Cocktails very good. Service a little slow but servers and chefs very nice. A little " pricey" too. Don't expect this to be a " find", but I would definitely give it a try if you want s casual meal in a nice environment . Hey , I've been back two times in a week!!! Beautiful inside! Unfortunately, the outside view doesn't do justice and I think if they would enhance " curb appeal", their business would flourish!

Ended up coming here for "linner" around 3 pm with my husband and teen daughter. We all agreed this was some of the best sushi we have ever had. Many times when you go to a sushi buffet or AYCE they have just "basic" sushi--avocado, tuna rolls etc. While there were some special rolls that cost a bit more, we were very satisfied with the unique, complex rolls combinations offered as part of the AYCE. They have a rule where you pay for things you don't eat which I think is great and prevents waste. Oh yeah, their mixed drinks were also great. My daughter is planning a return trip to Philly (we live in Rochester, NY!) just to come back to this restaurant!

First of all let me praise the server who helped me with my selection, as I know nothing of Japanese cuisine. I thoroughly enjoyed my Bento Box (a sampler plate) with its sushi, teriyaki, and tempura. Would definitely recommend for the hungry traveler!

I can't say the sushi was bad but it was not my favorite. I can't put the finger on exactly, but the taste was off on most of the rolls. It may have been the dominate sauces they put on everything. I hardly could taste the fish.

I've come here about three times with a good friend of mine for the lunch special, and I intend to come back for a big all you can eat sushi dinner sometime soon. Every roll I've had has been fresh and delicious, the staff is very friendly and the lunch special pricing is perfect! Two rolls and a soup or salad for $8.50 is fantastic especially for the quality they consistently deliver. Definitely would recommend this place to just about anyone.

I was visiting my son and we love all you can eat places. He had found this place Aki in downtown area. We go there as it opened on Monday, due to I had to leave for home. The service was perfect! Usually when you arrive as soon as a place opens, it has a long wait time, waiting for staff to get up to speed. NOT this place. They were ready to go as soon as the doors opened. We had all you eat for $25.95 per person and feel we got more then our monies worth. Started with the best Miso soup I have ever had. Then spring rolls, calimari, pot stickers, many rolls, edmame, and many more rolls. It was all very good!

It's a nice restaurant...good welcome...good service...I've so open sushi night...limited sashimi quantity...but endless makis...taste is good...not excellent...you can give it a try...

Overall, good stuffs and good staffs. We, 6 of us, went for a dinner on Friday evening. The first confusion, I called at noon time for reservation and they said nothing available till 830 which would be out of the question. Then a coworker making reservation online and got one on what I called for and confirmed through another phone call. confused. all you can eat sushi's for dinner was a good choice if you are for sure to try things with bunch of ppl and Its quite a good quality stuffs.

Great sushi. My favorite in Philadelphia. A must if are a sushi lover.

Fantastic food The whole family enjoyed We tried many different rolls and the "all you can eat" makes it so much easier to try them all

Came here on a Groupon and got the All you can Eat sushi deal. Includes rolls, maki, and nigiri along with small appetizers and miso soup. Must eat everything you order but we left happy and stuffed. Service was slightly slow but we sat away from the main dining hall so that explains that.

All you can eat Sushi and more. Besides the sushi menu there is a full menu full of Japanese delights. Sushi was fresh and varied. Plenty to chose from. Well worth a visit.

We saw a sign that was placed on the sidewalk outside that advertised half price appetizers from 5-7. (It was about 5:30.) This intrigued us. We ordered numerous appetizers, as they appealed to us more than the entrees. They were NOT half price and we were told it is half price just on weekdays. The sign did not say this. Other than that, the service was good and the food was good as well. They were our of one item we really wanted, but they had everything else. We will return.

It's a nice place - well-run, nicely decorated, always competent staff, good quality food, decent prices. You can probably get slightly better Japanese food in Philly - for a lot more money. Their happy hour sale - beers an appetizers at half price before 7pm - is a pretty good deal, too. My wife and I end up here a few times a year. Most dishes we've tried have been good. We usually go for sashimi, sushi or tempura. The portions are generous. Sashimi for two is a lot - good for three hungry people. Last time we were here, we got an appetizer and split an order of sashimi royale. It was plenty for two. Friday nights get busy, of course. There's outside and almost-outside seating. A good option for dinner if you don't want to spend a lot of money.

Arriving by overnight train and being appropriately exhausted, we virtually fell in the door literally next to the door of our hotel—and were blown away. The ramen noodle dishes in particular were fabulous, service was excellent, and we returned again, next time by choice and not by fatigue....
dissapointing
I eat at alot of Sushi restaurants and have my faves... food was not that fresh, service was terribly slow, the place looked nice but the experience ruined it. I do not recommend this restaurant unless you don't care
