Looked interesting, never been there, decided to try them. Never, NEVER again. Our reservation was given away because we were not complete. Part of our group was 7 minutes late. Our new table was set, upon inquiring why we weren't being sat, the reply was our server was in the restroom. We were given menus while we stood waiting for a table that was already available. 5 minutes later we were sat. We waited for our server, 7 of us, after 10 minutes waiting for our drinks, which all came at different times, our original table was sat, incomplete. One member of our party ordered a beer, possibly the easiest item to make and he still didn't have it, and never got it. It was all down hill after that and not worth writing about. Food horrible, 4 items sent back because they were burned, no manager presence, server empathetic, no-one in the entire building really cared about what was going on except a server who wasn't even ours. Needless to say he got the lions share of our tip. Upon finally leaving everyone in my party mentioned how great Magnolia Pancake house is as we were passing it. I said why the hell didn't we go there, I've never been there????

Food was ok. I ordered the sweet flight which is 4 small biscuits covered in preserves. The preserves were tasty but they were served cold on the biscuits. I think it would have been much better to either allow the diner to add their own preserves or serve preserves warm. The bacon was good enough but I ordered it crisp and it was not even close. I also wish they served Coca Cola products and not Pepsi. Service was ok.

went there at 11:30 and had to put our names on a list, ok but I questioned the guy taking names and he said at least a 20 minute wait, there were at least 4-5 tables that were empty, but we waited, when we were seated I asked how long will it take to get our food because I only have 1 hour (at most ) for lunch and he said aleast another 20 minutes but that they do have a breakfast buffet,(costing $12 per person) so due to the limited time, we choose the buffet, WHAT A MISTAKE, the buffet was till 2;00 but going to get our food, most of it was either gone or so dried up it looked disgusting, the Biscuits were dry with no flavor, the bacon was like beef jerky, the gravy's looked and tasted like plaster, when the waiter finally came back with our drinks, we mentioned that most of the buffet was empty, so they did put some eggs out but nothing else, very disappointing ,I might give it 1 more try but I will order my food instead of getting it from the buffet to see if its any better.

Is Alamo Biscuit Company & Panaderia really the best breakfast in Texas? I don't know, I was only in Texas for a few days. It was the best breakfast I had in Texas, though, and the best restaurant breakfast I have had in a long time. The restaurant is easy to find and has a decent sized parking lot. It appears to be a newer building and is very clean and comfortable. The service was quick, friendly, and efficient. Our waitress took care of all our dining requests and anticipated needs before we had to ask. The best part, of course, was the food. It tasted fresh, was prepared perfectly, and left us feeling full and satisfied. They have a biscuit-centric menu, but there are also some other options for the biscuit averse. My wife, the biscuit connoisseur, however would not advise skipping them. She said they were the best she has ever had. We also had eggs, sausage, breakfast potatoes, and fruit with our meals. Everything was great. We would love to return to Alamo Biscuit Company & Panaderia, and will definitely do so the next time we visit San Antonio.

We went here for a drink and the waitress was very rude and kept pushing us to get food even though we had already eaten. We told her we just wanted a drink and she refused to serve us unless we got food even though the place was empty. We decided to leave and she freaked out. What a joke of a server Nichole was. Worst I’ve ever had.

Not sure what happened but we made reservations on line. Sunday morning we walked to the restaurant at the San Antonio rivercity mall and it was not open. There were some people inside but they completely ignored us and some other people who had showed up to eat there. We will not give them a second chance to disappoint us.

The food was fine. The service was inattentive and very slow. The prices were very inflated. Biscuits do not cost much to produce. Even really good biscuits and these were fair. Regular black coffee too expensive in my opinion. We won’t be back.

We were excited about coming here, but were disappointed over all. We were on our way to the airport and decided to eat here first. The coffee and the service was very good but the food was lacking. Not sure what to even tell them to fix there are so many little things. The biscuits themselves were very heavy. They feel very heavy in your stomach after eating. The gravy seemed to look like it had been made ahead and had been sitting. I agree with another reviewer who said there was potential, because there is. Hopefully they will get it figured out. It’s a great idea. I hope they improve.

This little place on the River Walk was amazing. The biscuits French toast was actually a deep fried biscuit. WOW ! Our young waitress was awesome ( Karina) Worth a visit!

We ordered the sweet biscuit flight. The biscuits were cold, there was way too much jam on each biscuit and the cream cheese “whip” on top was not whipped at all. It was thick and way too sugary for an already very sweet dish. The jam did taste really good, but the dish definitely should have been $2 less. We also ordered the salsa verde eggs Benedict. I tasted no salsa. I tasted no pork. I tasted nothing besides the extremely Smokey bbq pork which there was way too much of on the biscuit. The name and description did not match the dish and if your going to upcharge on an item because you add extra toppings, you should make sure the customer can taste the extra stuff. My fiancé’s dish, a chicken sandwich on their brunch menu was really good. The waiter was nice. At one point we asked for side plates and he brought back one. He said the others were being cleaned but never came back with another. I would give it another shot because I’d the jam and the chicken dish, but I definitely wasn’t impressed.

This was my second time to visit. I got a breakfast taco and Oma got French toast with eggs. Service was quick and accurate. Overall neat place.

We called in our order for take out. We got the biscuit with beans and biscuit with chicken. The biscuits were a little dry and had a salty buttery flavor. The biscuits come with potatoes and those were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The portion is pretty large.

Food was meh. So was service. Wife and I agreed next time for breakfast we would rather have Whataburger

📍 A total gem we stumbled upon along the Riverwalk. This is their newest location, and it did not disappoint! 🍳 I went with the Eggs Benedict 3 Ways — brisket, pork belly, and barbacoa. Each one had its own personality, but all three hit the spot. 🔥 My wife ordered the Brisket Mac & Cheese Fries, and yes… they looked (and tasted) just as amazing as they sound. ☀️ Ambience check: Outside was bright, fun, and colorful — with giant conchas as umbrellas! Inside was calm and classy, beautifully decorated, and a perfect escape from the Riverwalk noise. The patio was full, so we grabbed a cozy spot inside. 💨 Service: Quick delivery, great timing, and our server was super attentive — never missed a beat. 🥓 Food talk: The brisket and pork belly were smoked to perfection — tender and flavorful. The barbacoa was a bit smokier than I usually prefer, but still delicious. The biscuits? Legendary. I actually told my wife, “This tastes like Grandma’s biscuits — only better.” The eggs were seasoned just right, and the hollandaise was smooth, light, and creamy. 🍟 My wife’s plate could’ve fed two — big lunch portions! They used fusilli pasta instead of macaroni (smart move — more cheese clings to it). The steak fries were crisp, thick, and somehow held up under all that cheesy brisket goodness. 💯 Overall: A fantastic find with great vibes, flavor, and service. If you’re in San Antonio, you have to check them out. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Full Noah approved. #SanAntonioEats #FoodieFinds #BrunchGoals #AlamoBiscuitCo #RiverwalkEats #TexasFoodie #BrisketLove #FoodReview

If you like biscuits, this is the place to go. It is located on lower level of the River Center Mall. It is open 24 hours and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner all the times. We ordered Egg and Biscuit, Waffles and four biscuits topped with different jams. All the items were excellent. The biscuits are huge and flavorful, accompanied by potatoes. The waffle is good size but bit thin (not Belgian waffle). The server was very attentive, the food came very quickly and as ordered.

Heard they make awesome biscuit entrees and so glad we tried it. We ordered the Smoked Brisket Benedict and Fried Chicken Sammie (waiter suggested ordering it on the bun instead of biscuit). The fried chicken was excellent. The fries were light and crispy (which surprised us because they looked like thick steak fries). I wish I had ordered the fried chicken sliders, after tasting a bite of the chicken. The brisket Benedict was good - a bit rich with the Hollandaise sauce and poached egg, so I was full after half the portion. While the wait was long (even though we did the Waitlist), the service staff was friendly. Glad we tried it - we will try again - maybe during the week when it’s less busy.

We had two breakfasts and one dinner at Alamo Biscuit Co & Panaderia, as it was steps from our hotel and on the riverwalk. I would definitely recommend it for breakfast, but maybe not for dinner. Breakfast was great. I got the french toast platter one day and the Blueberry Cream Cheese pancakes the second day. My husband got the brisket benedict platter one day and something else the second, but he loved them both. HIGHLY recommend anything with their brisket in it!! Service was attentive, prices were fair and the coffee was especially good. The servers at dinner time did not know what was going on and gave us wrong information about sides to the point that the chef came out to talk to us because whatever the server wrote down was not available. And, the margarita I ordered tasted like soap - yuck.

Stopped by here this morning to pick up Taco's - Potato and Egg and Bacon and Egg. Pretty basic stuff as far as Taco's go. The Tortilla's were very tough and difficult to chew. We noticed that one side of the Tortilla was quite thin but the other side was very thick - something missing in the quality control area... The Potatoes were quite large and overwhelmed the egg - note to staff - reduce the size of the potatoes so that they are no more than 1/2" square. The Bacon and Egg was okay - with the exception that the tortilla's were too tough. We tried "Mama's Salsa" - not good - it tasted like Chili and had no zip to it. They do bake all the pastries fresh every day - they had a very impressive array of items for sale. Will visit here again to try the Biscuits and Gravy.

Looks like some amateur is Managing this location. I asked for potatoes, egg and cheese breakfast tacos. I was served some un-roasted and poorly made scrambled egg tacos with stale-oil flavored potatoes stuffed in them, and a tiny spoonful of stale and bad-tasting salsa. Poblano Grits were just room temperature sprinkled with some almost-dry cheddar cheese flakes sprinkled on top. Coffee was watered-down and flavorless, maybe the 2time brewing with the same grounds. Everything was wrong here. Set back by $19 (of course including a $3tip, coz i did not want to deprive the cleaning crew). Attached is a CBD+Coffee bar, did not expect this at all! At this point McDonalds would have been a better choice.. seriously!

Visited with family. This restaurant has been open for about a month and there are real issues with quality control and prices of some items. The price of the buffet is now $15. Definitely not worth the price. Who can eat $15 worth of biscuits. These are the current problems: 1. Poor quality control in the kitchen. I ordered the egg on the huevos rancheros biscuit over-easy. It came out so crisuty on the egg white that it was impossible to cut with a fork. The egg yolk was over done. Second time around, the egg came out just as crusty. When I turned it over, that other side had not even touched the grill. It was sunny side up with lots of raw egg white . I talked to the manager who stated she would talk with the chef. The grill is too hot for eggs and they should consider a frying pan. 2. Size and quality of the sides does not justify the cost. Each side was served ina tiny bowl with about 2/3 cup of the side for $3. The gator tots were cooked a light golden and were not crunchy. The potato hash tasted as though it had been cooked the day before. We could not eat them. 3. The dishes are not brought to the table by the server. They are delivered by someone who drops them off and doesn’t ask if everything is okay. The person who delivers the dishes should check to make certain the dish is as ordered. On the positive side: the biscuits were very good and tasted home made. They were crusty on the outside and fluffy AND flaky on the inside. The huevos rancheros came open faced and everything was delicious except for the horribly cooked eggs. Our coffee cups were never empty The panaderia (bakery items) has a limited selection but everything looks authentic. Had a taste of the cinnamon roll and I loved it! The glaze is a little thicker than most with a hint of cream cheese. The roll is soft and a little denser than most. I liked it a lot. Recommendation: wait a while before you visit to give them a chance to take care of the issues quality control issues. We will return in about 6 weeks for the huevos rancheros. We will share them because it is a bigger serving than most people can eat. If the eggs are still horribly cooked we won’t return for breakfast.

Found this place on Yelp, and was very pleased with our lunch. The brisket was delicious and our server was nice

Went in to check this place out on a Monday morning. No line and only a few people there which was a plus but service was slow despite there not being a lot of people. Young staff working who were not very attentive. I ordered the Tennessee chicken biscuit and the sauce flavor was good but the chicken was stale and stringy. The biscuit was dry, crumbly, and fell apart easily. My husband got the chicken and pancakes and his chicken was stale too. The texture made me believe it was old and not freshly made. I was given the wrong ticket when I checked out. The “panaderia” hardly had any bread in there. There was a few pieces in there that looked old and the presentation was poor. Definitely would not return here.

We arrived right at noon so we expected a wait. There are only three chairs available inside that can be used to wait. There are two benches outside, if you do not mind the heat. The restaurant is the old BurgerFi and has not changed at all in terms of the seating. A long buffet table is set up for those wanting to pay $12.00 for all you can eat; however, the offerings that day were not something that I would serve myself again. My husband ordered the biscuits with white pepper gravy with sausage bits on top. The biscuit was not cooked and the gravy was unappealing. He told me that he got better biscuits and gravy at a truck stop. He ate one of the two biscuits and it really didn't sit well the rest of the day. The plates that you are provided for the buffet are very small. I guess they don't want you to eat that much. I asked for two plates. The biscuit I chose took up almost the entire plate. There was not any butter on the buffet. Some of the gravies and jams are in small, plastic containers at the end of the buffet. The scrambled eggs did not look appetizing. The fried chicken on the buffet consisted of legs and thighs with a very thick crust. It was hard to cut much less put some on the huge, dry biscuit that needed salt. The French fries were okay. The fried potatoes with onions and bell peppers were tasty. The gravies looked congealed. We had waited to get seated; we waited to order and I had to ask three times for a to-go box that was tiny. My leftover chicken, biscuit and fries barely fit. When I first read the menu, I thought about ordering some of the pastries. The prices are rather high: $5 for a smallish cinnamon roll and the cookies are 75 cents each. After the disappointing lunch, I really didn't feel like trying anything else. Unless something drastically different happens, this is one restaurant that will not get my return business. Our lunch was $20.

We arrived at 10:00 on a Sunday morning and had to wait about 30 minutes for a table for four. Not a complaint, as this is a new venue and has been quite popular. The hostess was very pleasant and we were seated in the inside dining area, a concrete floored area with Ikea-esque furnishings, no noticeable sound treatments and hence very noisy. Our waitress was polite but sometimes difficult to hear above the din, and think this contributed to issues with our order (more on that later). We started with drinks: I ordered a pint of ale and one of our party ordered the mimosa “flight”. Our waitress explained that she couldn’t serve alcohol unless there was food on the table first and recommended a single serving of bread pudding, which we thought was odd, but plausible. It was about 5 minutes after the bread pudding arrived that our drinks did. The bread pudding seemed more like coffee cake and the caramel sauce was too thick. We placed our orders and about 15 minutes later, the food arrived for three of us, but not for me. Two of the orders were missing items. At this point, our waitress was nowhere to be found and we did not see her again for the remainder of our time there. Two of the three delivered orders were missing sides and we pointed that out. Before the missing sides we’re delivered, a separate plate arrived via a new waitress that contained three different orders of eggs, one of which was probably mine, but I wasn’t sure as my order had not yet arrived. The other two egg orders were not ours, but they were now residents of our table. It was apparent that the sides were going to be served family style, which we found to be unacceptable. I pointed out to the new waitress that my order had not yet arrived. The Chef came from the kitchen and asked me what I had ordered. I told him, he turned around and motioned to one the wait staff behind him, and viola, my food arrived along with my friend’s missing side orders, one of which was wrong. My egg, ordered “over medium” was delivered with somewhat runny whites. At this point, we just shut up and ate food, which was served primarily on metal camp plates. I had the savory biscuit flight. The biscuits were excellent, the various gravies were not hot, but still quite tasty. By the time I got to the last biscuit, it was starting to get a bit soggy, but I’m a slow eater. I’ve always said that if you want to really know what’s in the heart of a restaurantier, pay attention to the bathrooms. The men’s room was dirty, but not to the point of smelling foul. Interestingly, the color treatment on the concrete floor of the dining room stopped abruptly at the door the lavatory, which more resembled one at a gas station. By sharp contrast, a place like Mi Tierra which probably feeds more than a thousand people a day manages to keep the bathrooms pretty clean. In summary, I can forgive the waitstaff in a new establishment to get the hang of what’s going on, but there’s no excuse for a mismanaged kitchen. Not sure what happened, but it was not run well. The final tab for four was $55, including two drinks, so that’s pretty decent, but until we see continuously great ratings and reviews, none of our group will be returning. It’s a great concept, and I hope that the kinks get straightened out.

They made an great eggs, cheese and bacon biscuit. The bacon was cooked prefectly. The restaurant was clean and the staff was super friendly. I definitely would recommend trying it. The biscuit sandwiches were $15 each

We were at the riverwalk Alamo biscuit company restaurant and received the best service from Sam always checking in on us. The restaurant was clean and welcoming it was great to look at the stairs to see positive affirmations and everyone seems happy and friendly. The food is well words cannot express how delicious it was. The pricing is perfect. We travel enough and can say this type of restaurant would be enough to bring us back just to come here alone. Thank you so much Alamo biscuit company for many days of return business we had with you. Katie t MN

We were headed home back to Dallas after a weekend in San Antonio taking one of our pups to the weenie dog races. While his performance was not the highlight of our trip, neither was our experience at Alamo Biscuit & Panaderia. We chose this restaurant because the pictures of the food looks mouth-watering and it was pet friendly. After a 45 minute wait, we were seated outside on the patio. That is where everything started going south from the get go. Why, oh why do they have a kids jungle gym play station on the patio? It is an enclosed patio at that surrounded by 3 walls and a ceiling, so the acoustics of kids screaming at the top of their lungs while chasing each other was almost unbearable. I could tell the other patrons were annoyed, with one table complaining and one table moving inside. We however could not move inside because we had our dog with us. We ultimately said something to a girl delivering good and while the parents of the unsupervised children were ultimately found, there was no efforts made to decrease the ear piercing screeches and screams. The food: PHENOMENAL! We started with the biscuit and homemade jelly sampling ($7). The biscuits has a slightly crips, buttery bottom with a cloud of fluffy filling on top. The jellies were peach (our least favorite), strawberry, raspberry and some other berry (our favorite). My wife had the hamburger and homemade tater tots (DELICIOUS) and I had the pulled pork eggs Benedict. I could eat this meal every weekend. Fortunately it was so much food I was able to pack 1/2 in a cooler in the car and enjoy it the next morning for breakfast back home. Ultimately, if you plan on eating here, plan on eating inside. The food was well worth the wait and I wish I would have known that on open table I could have put our name on the list well ahead of time. They do have a nice little service through open table that let you check in and see how your name has moved up the list. I would vote to remove the kids play station and add 4-5 more tables to accommodate guests quicker and make the dining experience match the level of food being served.

Stated off with a savory biscuit flight for appetizer ! Oh oh so good biscuits were fluffy and perfect tried the brisket Benedict and shrimp&grit both biscuits were dense and dry but still good. We will return

My daughter and I tried this new place out this weekend and were very happy. I really like the atmosphere and that it has outdoor seating. We started with a mimosa flight that was really good. The biscuits were light and flakey, the sausage gravy was really good but my favorite part was the jalapeño cheddar grits. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars was because the service was slow. Not so much the waitress, just think they are still new and working out the kinks but the food is definitely worth the wait. The manager did come by to apologize for the delay and check on us. We will be back.

My wife works close by so I stopped in one morning to try it as I had not had breakfast and it was late morning. Ordered sausage and biscuits with coffee. Food was ok but nothing special. My wife’s are noticeably better. Rather than hot food was warm and not a lot of sausage in the gravy. Service was good and place was clean. Could be very nice place if food gets better. I’d eat there again if person I was with wanted to try it. On my own I’d pass.

This place gets super busy on the weekends probably because of their brunch special plus it is a new place AND it serves extraordinary biscuit dishes. We really wanted to give this place a try so we decided to go on a Friday morning around 10 am. We only had to wait about 2 minutes and were seated. Our waitress Taylor was exceptional. She got our drink orders and then our food order. I will have to say that we have never had such a great biscuit dish...EVER! They have numerous selections but we chose the shrimp and grits biscuit which is on the lunch menu. Smothered with creamy cheese poblano grits, sausage pieces and corn flake crusted popcorn shrimp this biscuit is the tops in my opinion. The biscuit dishes are served with a side of fried potatoes...also plate scraping good. Of course I had to have something sweet so I opted for the cinnamon coffee cake. It was so moist and layered with cinnamon, sugar and nuts! Just perfect breakfast for us. Very, very clean establishment and extremely nice host wait staff. Will definitely go back!!!

This was our first visit and we were impressed. Cozy dining with both indoor and outdoor seating right on the River Walk. Friendly service and a wide variety of menu options. I had the French toast biscuits and they were amazing. They are Open 24 hours, which is a huge plus. Would definitely come back again.

We had high hopes for this place. We joined the waitlist to get a table. They said 15 minutes it was 35. We sat down, the waiter took our order. We waited and waited and waited, 1 hour before we were served. We each ordered the biscuit trio, we could have easily split, the slider biscuits we bigger than expected. If you go in for quantity over quality you will not be disappointed. The chucked was the best of all with syrup on the biscuit. It was like I ate as a child when my grandmother made biscuits, so delicious. So if you don’t mind waiting a long time & you like quantity over quality this is your place.

I've been to Alamo Biscuit Co for breakfast a few times. Very good and their Panderia selections, oh my! The biscuits are not what you may expect from a place that has biscuit in the name. They aren't huge and fluffy. But that's not to say they aren't good. They have some tasty gravy options, eggs, fruit, mimosa flights, etc. I recently went for their Soul Food Pop Up dinner and comedy night. We had a lot of fun and I and the smothered porkchops, mashed sweet potatoes and collard greens. Was all delish. They then brought us some cornbread with honey on it, on the house. And then brought us a slice of sweet potatoe pie to share! Fyi, they don't normally sell dinner. I recommend giving this place a try!

We had not heard of this place before but had a Groupon and decided to give them a try. It is located in a two business small center between Golden Quail and Floyd Curl Roads and parking was not an issue even though they were fairly busy. They have a hostess stand at the entrance, masks are not required of guests, and employees were wearing masks except one waitress had hers below her nose. We were seated promptly and noticed several high top two seat tables and the rest on four seat tables all in one room. There is also an outside patio with more tables but no one was sitting out there. They have a QR code menu, which we do not care for, so we asked for a paper menu which she quickly brought us. The menu is not extensive but do have a variety of different choices with most incorporating a biscuit(s) in the meal. They offer breakfast tacos but the menu appears to price for one so we asked and were told the pricing is for two and comes with grilled red potatoes. It would be helpful if this was indicated on the menu. One of us ordered a bean/bacon/cheese taco plate. The tacos were large, beans extremely hot temperature, bacon thick but not crisp and choice of cheese. They were rather salty and the potatoes were okay. For $8.50 a bit overpriced especially in a town with an abundance of Mexican food places that have much cheaper and better breakfast tacos. The other ordered an Old Smokey Biscuit plate which consisted of a large biscuit filled with shredded brisket, pepper gravy and cheese sauce with a side of grilled red potatoes. This didn’t have much smoke taste or pepper taste so somewhat bland to the discerning palate. Again, at $12, we felt it is a bit pricey for amount of food. Tea is $3 extra and others sides are $4 extra. The noise level was low and the wait for food was timely. The place was almost full inside by the time we left. Our waitress wasn’t very personable but was efficient in keeping our beverages filled. There was an overcharge on one menu item but when we brought it to our waitress attention, she corrected it. It seems that the paper menu may not be updated to the current pricing which online shows $10. We agreed that it is a nice concept BUT pricing too high for food portions and offerings. We were glad we had a coupon to try it out and save a little at the same time.

My Daughter invited me to go with her to try out this new restuarant- and we will go back. They serve breakfast all day (6am-3pm) and lunch from 11-3. There are so many interesting biscuit items on the menu we had to split a couple of things to try them out. OMG-Best Biscuits ever! We were impressed especially when IPads and computer system was down, they knew how to conduct business the old fashioned way. Food was excellent and they offer a military discount.

They were extremely busy for Tuesday morning and didn’t seem like there were enough staff to handle the convention goers. The cinnamon fresh toast biscuits were great, the scramble eggs that came with were so so. All the food coming out looked good though.

Amazing food and great location! I had the Brisket/Mac fries. Delish!! Service was great and atmosphere was laid back and inviting.

Absolutely exceeded our expectations! The food was phenomenal. The chicken from the chicken and biscuits was clearly fresh not frozen and perfectly breaded and fried. You could tell it was hand-dipped in flour before hitting the fryer. Everything was flavorful and cooked just right. Service was excellent fast, friendly, and attentive.

Went here from a recommendation from a coworker. We loved it. Took a little bit of time to get orders but there were busy, so this does not effect the score for me. Also had some desserts from the bakery section and they were to die for. Definitely worth the trip to try them if in the San Antonio area. Recommend the chicken and pancakes and “The Texican”

We visited here twice in the past two weeks. The first time was busy but service was quick. We ordered the savory biscuit flight. There are four small biscuits covered in 4 different gravies (cream/pepper, cream\sausage, poblano, and chorizo). This is a filling plate and chorizo gravy is amazing! The cream/pepper and poblano really lacked flavor...stick with the sausage or chorizo gravy. We also ordered a plain biscuit with homemade strawberry jam which was wonderful. The biscuit wasn’t fluffy but it was light and delicious. Our second visit was a little disappointing. We ordered a large biscuit with chorizo gravy and a fried egg on top....fantastic choice. Cantaloupe mimosa was another hit. Plain biscuit with jam was very disappointing...dry and heavy. The most disappointing part of the day was the service. People stood around waiting up to 30 minutes for a table because we were told they didn’t have enough servers! We waited 15 minutes while looking at 5 empty tables. As we waited we heard wait times going up and empty tables just waiting...no good. Alamo Biscuit has huge potential but they need to be more consistent with order items and improve the service.

The food is incredible, the service is fantastic. Tried multiple items as we went every morning. You have to try the chicken.

We decided to give this place another visit and order something different on the menu. The parking lot was full but found one open spot. The hostess gave us a friendly greeting and seated us promptly. They have low top and high top table seating as well as bar counter seating. We were offered beverages quickly and our order was taken timely. One of us ordered the ABC Burger with hash browns ($13). It was loaded with seasoned pepper bacon on the beef pattie and lettuce and tomato. But turned out to be too salty/peppery for the liking. The hash browns were cubed style. The other order was the Cobb Salad ($11) which came in a medium size bowl and had grilled chicken, bacon, mixed greens, and boiled eggs (no tomato) along with pico and a jalapeno/dill dressing. The salad was ample and the dressing was flavorful mostly of dill and not much jalapeno which was fine with me. The bacon was cold. Downside is the extremely long wait to get the food. But we noticed everyone had a long wait for food. Our waitress was nice and brought the bill timely. If we return we would not order the burger again but they have a grilled chicken also that we might try. The place is busy and they have a lot of wait staff but don't know why the food takes soooo long to be prepared/served. We were there over almost 1 1/2 hrs. just to order and eat. We didn't waste time ordering or staying after to chat either. Guests and staff or not required to wear masks. I did observe a waitress trying to open a Hershey Chocolate syrup bottle and dropped the lid on the floor and then picked it up and put it right back on the bottle without cleaning it in any way.

We found this little hidden gem this morning. The Alamo biscuit and Pantera is directly outside the Marriott River center one floor down. We had an apple fritter and a cinnamon bun with some coffee and it was absolutely delicious. The prices are very, very reasonable the service was great and it was so convenient. We did this before we hopped on the trolley for our adventure today. Instead of paying $35for breakfast at the Marriott per person. Our bill was $18 for everything plus tip. We came back here this afternoon for a few beers and the happy hour special, which is awesome and we had the brisket and macaroni and cheese appetizer. Try this you’ll be glad you did!

Terrible experience here. The waiter was very polite and helpful. Atmosphere was more for young kids to drink. Music is too loud. Location is pretty easy to find. Food looked good but our food was cold. Came out very late. We waited 1 hour for cold food.

Fist visit, recommended by my nephew who lives and attends school in SA. There was no wait at time of arrival since he had a table, waiting for us at noon time. Enough parking. Inside was clean and looked new. Has indoor section and outdoor mid section with bar & seating. We did indoors. ordered the “Breakfast All Day” dish (eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, & 2 biscuits with gravy) & cranberry juice. Gravy on biscuits was very tasty, not runny or too thick. We tried the flight of berry mimosas. Plus, the pull pork biscuits with fries. The food was right temps and fulfilling. Place had the bakery goods towards counter but didn’t try them, (too full). Waitress took order and picked up check. We did have to call her over to request more water. Overall, prices were decent and the food was good. If in the area again, we would return.. to try other meals on the menu.

Always willing to take a chance on something I am not familiar with. Alamo biscuit located just north of the medical center in San Antonio offers alternative to fast food from the big franchises. This location has indoor and covered outdoor seating. Outside seating was quick and polite. Seemed to have lots of help, and actually had several wait staff check to see if I had ordered. Have a limited bar with done choices if draft beer, but liked like they were doing a brisk business in the fruity drinks and champagne flights. I mentioned that my beer tasted off and the young man behind the bar offered to get me another and followed through. Biscuit with gravy and brisket was okay but the biscuit was probably from the day before. The handful of potatoes were good. Not sure that the final bill of $23 including tip was a good value. I only ate about half the biscuit. But the brisket did have a good smokey taste and the cheesy sauce added to the overall satisfaction. Thanks to the young man who got my beer straight. Not sure what his name was cause they don't wear name tags. Maybe they should. Cheers
Delicious
Wonder biscuit dishes. Had bacon and egg and change for fried egg. The side hash was outstanding as well. Saw many other dishes I’d like to try. Will be back!
