Knowingly delayed w zero notification

By Kim R |

Volunteered for earlier flight, promised $25 credit; delayed 3 hours without notice. Checked in night before, time reflected delay, no notification. Disappointing.

Horrible experience, due to preventative measures that limit access to lounge for paid members with status.

Lounge access is trash. When you land from a previous flight expecting to be able to access the lounge during a layover, staff indicate that you must enter a queue to enter. I have never experienced this in the years I have had lounge access. The whole idea is to be able to relax and get a bite to eat prior to ones connection. To have to wait to enter based on a queue, makes one reconsider why they pay for lounge access in the first place. Avoid Portland Alaska flyers, use Seattle instead to avoid this ignorant delay in paid service.

Alaska team is friendly and very helpful

I am rating a 5 because of the friendly helpful service we had recently. We had a 1st class flight to Maui that was delayed so much that we were going to miss our connecting flight. Every Alaska employee we interacted with was sympathetic and helpful. Getting seats on an alternate flight downgraded us to the last seats available in the very back of the plane. I was very disappointed. However, our counter staff member got us on the flight right away, checked our bags at no charge and sent us to the lounge anyway to wait the 7 hours! The concierges helped us try to update our Hawaii pre check unsuccessfully, but it was a state regulation that we couldn’t update for 24 hours with the new flight. We were very comfortable in the lounge and had coffees and bagels. I even tried the pancake machine which I enjoy watching( pancakes aren’t great, but the process is fun!) in the future we will likely fly Alaska 1st because we really enjoy waiting for our flight in the PDX lounge. Alaska reached out to us with a refund on our downgraded tickets and have reached out again with a personal apology by phone & email. Other things occurred to make is a dismal travel day, but Alaska’s team has made effort to make it right. I appreciate that very much.

Good Service but Small and Basic

By airline lounge standards, this lounge is average at best. The staff, however, are exceptional and deliver a good service within the limits of the facility. Lounge is undersized for an airport the size of PDX but they do make about as efficient use of the space as is possible. Bar service, coffee, and various snacks are available, which vary depending on time of day. Because of COVID social distancing restrictions, the number of people admitted to the lounge is limited. If the lounge is full, there is an easy sign-up at the front door to be placed on a waiting list for a vacancy. Once a spot opens up, a text message is sent.

Alaska lounge

We enjoy the calm of a lounge compared to the gate atmosphere. This lounge is small, but comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is limited seating, but comfortable. We can plug in, get a beverage and a snack. The food is limited. However, I am such a fan of the pancake machine! It’s not a sumptuous lounge, but it works.

Excellent Experience!

I'm a loyal American Airlines traveler and when I was flying out of PDX and there was no Admiral's Lounge, I used this lounge instead, since they share with each other. The lady checking me in was very helpful, fast and nice and the other staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful as well. They have a very nice breakfast, one that's better than AA's in fact! Bagels and Lox with all the accoutrement, eggs, breads and something that's really cool - an automatic pancake making machine! It actually works and makes fresh pancakes to order. The restroom was really clean and so was the rest of the lounge. The lounge is slightly on the small size, but there was plenty of seating available when I visited. I'll definitely return when back at this airport!

This lounge was amazing. Was there for an early morning flight and the selections were exceptional. Barista coffee and even alcohol if you desire.

Love The Lounge

This lounge is easy to find, has good customer service... I was greeted as I came through the door, and it has a variety of snacks. It also has comfortable places to sit. I love my Alaska Airlines Lounge membership.

Expanded seating eases crowding and nice full bar

By pdxworldtravler |

Redone boardroom with expanded seating and new furniture. Full bar and improved food presentations. Better than most United clubs but not as lux as the SFO or SEA board rooms.

Small oasis for B concourse

By pdxworldtravler |

First time using the express lounge on the B concourse. It is a small, but not crowded lounge on the B concourse with limited snacks and no bar for wine/beer. Close to the commuter gates with 2 staff. Nice oasis if you are on q400 or RJs but not full service like on C concourse.

Avoid this airline

They now don’t let you in if you fly under 2000 miles in first class but don’t tell you that when you book. Staff very condescending.
