We started with appetizer for the table to share. They came with no serving utensils so my friend used her entree fork to dish up and appetizer fork to eat with. When they picked up the dishes she asked for another fork. The waiter opened his order book looked at it then announced ‘you used your entree fork for the appetizer’ ok, fork police if that was a attempt to embarrass her it failed, did you write down who used the wrong fork? Onto entree’s , I had ordered the Ocean Treasures which was recommended as an app for 2 or more people ( this really isn’t a shareable plate with 1 oyster 1 raw clam, 2 shrimp 2 lobster lumps and Krab -yes with a K fake crab in the cucumber slaw) but Not a meat eater I thought this would be a good entree for me. Before entrees were served the fork police , I mean the waiter Brought those who order steak their steak knifes and for me a small crab fork placed on my placemat and announced ‘this is for your appetizer’. Again, if you’re trying to embarrass someone it didn’t work it just made you look rude. I order what I like and want. I don’t cAre about price or appearances. Wish I could say it was worth it. But the single clam was raw ( first for me) and could not bite through the rubber lobster ‘medallion’ that had been over cooked and/or refrigerated to long along with inedible rubber shrimp. If you want seafood go next door to Big Al's Oyster Bar. Which is were they got the food from as I had ate the crab and oysters there the night before. The steaks looked great and were reported to be wonderful and cooked as requested. Mac and cheese was odd consistency not creamy? Tempura shrimp were fantastic and fresh fried and the scalloped potatoes were good but small portion.

This is a very nice restaurant with very good food. Right off the casino, but still very quite and intimate. Food was very good as was the service. Prices reasonable. Would definitely go back.

The mixologist tried his very best (like offering up a mint simple syrup in place of real fresh mint to make a mojito) but did reveal that the newness of Alder & Birch meant they were shy of some important ingredients and liqueurs to be a top end cocktail bar. But he couldn't have been more accommodating in trying to satisfy despite the busy hour we visited. I suspect they just need some time to work out the demand profile of the clientele and they will be a lovely upscale bar option at this mostly generic bar Orleans hotel-casino. Will certainly try again.

Food was ok, service great, but hostess and manager beyond rude. On top of it, place was filthy. Not a first class establishment.

My wife and I decided to stop at the casino to eat at a different restaurant. After seeing the extremely long line we decided to keep looking. We stumbled into this place. They had an open table. The food was delicious! I got the salmon and my wife got the steak. Her steak was a little unevenly cooked in places. She asked for it well done and it was still pink in places but overall loved the taste. It was a little pricey as you pay for each item separately.

We went to Alder and Birch in search of a classy, delicious evening meal. We were not disappointed. Ten of us were seated in a semi-private dining area. Staff were attentive and pleasant without being overbearing. Among our group, we ordered steak, halibut, pork, shrimp, chicken in sauce, and a variety of side dishes. All were proclaimed excellent. The experience and food were top notch overall.

This contemporary new restaurant features an upscale bar and steakhouse menu, plus an evening happy hour. Bartenders Celeste and Brian provided friendly and professional service. We had the Tempura Calamari and Beef Short Rib appetizers, along with beer and cocktails. Calamari was great. The short ribs were tender and served with a rich sauce. Enjoyed a conversation with fellow diners and had a fun time. Would return and recommend to others.

Everything from the cocktails to the desserts were absolutely delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection. The steaks were to die for, melt in your mouth delicious. The staff was extremely friendly and very professional. The appetizers we shared were so very flavorful.

Order the halibut. The mango and sauce were to die for. Little pricey for just a fish since all is a la cart. But the taste was scrumptious.

Alder & Birch opened in December 2015, and is a very nice looking establishment. I was very excited to visit. While waiting for the table, we sat at the bar. Excellent selection of liquors & wine, and drinks were perfectly prepared. Our waiter was very helpful, polite, and knowledgeable of items on the menu. But things went downhill from there. Food delivery to the table was a little disjointed. For instant, my steak was delivered without the listed steak sauce, which I had to ask for. Then 2 - 3 minutes later, a different waiter delivered a steak knife. The steak was returned after 2 bites because it was much too salty. The vegetables were served in ample portions, but were not a tasty mix. The restaurant offered to serve another steak on the house, but I was so disappointed that refused. A lots of potential. Once they get the proper manager who will whip the crew into a 1st class team, it will greatly improve.

We came here with a party of four. The meat dishes of my friends were good yet the side of blue cheese gratin potatoes had a soapy flavour to it. You could not taste the blue cheese. My salad sorry to say of vegetables was disgusting. The vegetables tasted like they had been frozen or left out a long time after being cooked. The dressing tasted like it came out of a package. Disappointing. I couldn't eat it. The barman Brian was very friendly though and made us feel welcome when we came in and had a funny likeable personality. He made us a great Long Island tea.

Called up on Saturday night at 6:00 pm asking if there was any chance of getting in at 9:00 pm, Maria said sure, come on in. That should of been first clue as to what was coming. Brought a glass of water to me, had to ask for some ice in it, nothing like warm water, yum. Ordered crab cakes ( so so ) and the steak and lobster along with mushrooms & onions. The lobster was tiny, tough and chewy, lots of black grilled ( ? ) marks on bottom and not sweet tasing at all. Can't recommend

While attending Viva Las Vegas 20( 20th Anniversary Of This Outstanding Event) My husband & I decided to try this restaurant at the Orleans Hotel our server Brandon "outstanding"! Every night we ate here we had superb service. Beautiful decor though out this fine dining restaurant, we decided to sit in the bar area which is glass all the way around and you have a view of the crowd & vibe of the casino. The Orleans did a fantastic job by adding this fine dining establishment, fabulous food, delicious cocktails & excellent service. While dinning here several times, we tried various items on the menu, we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Thank you for your hospitality Alder & Birch, and our server Brandon, the nights we spent here made the weekend, the staff here is top notch. While attending this event or just visiting the Orleans Casino Alder & Birch is the restaurant to go to! Fantastic!!

Alder and Birch opened a few weeks ago to replace the Canal Street restaurant as the fine dining option at the Orleans The new place is very modern and offers a choice of fine food at reasonable prices. The service is excellent all round from reception to servers I had a Filet Mignon which was cooked to perfection accompanied by several side dishes which can be shared between the two of you. They had a wide variety of wines, beers and cocktails on offer and even had a happy hour in the lounge at the front of the restaurant I thought the meal was on a par with the likes of Prime at Bellagio and would certainly recommend it to anyone

Friday evening dinner w friends. Fun atmosphere with white leather booths for dining. Cocktail tables w orange leather chairs for socializing. Great Zinfandel, martinis. Manhattan was enjoyed by one of our party, but seemed overly sweet to me. Scallops & Boursin mashed were delicious! RockShrimp tempura & Beef Carpaccio appetizers were yummy! The rum cake dessert is a must try! The creme brûlée was good, but the raspberry champagne sorbet that accompanied it was delightful... coming from a chocolate ice cream connoisseur!

Favorite bar by far - Awesome Happy Hour - Signature Cocktails were fabulous - Waiter & Staff were top notch. Had a few apps - they were delicious - would definitely try this place if you stay here.

Came here as we were at the Orleans for an event and wanted a proper meal, service was very good and prices very reasonable for Vegas. Food was excellent my husband had the fillet minion oscar and I had the prime rib which was delicious. We also had a coupe of cocktails which were also reasonable at ten dollars each. Would return and eat here again if we are in Vegas

Alder & Birch came highly recommended to us by a few of our friends, The food was amazing, the staff was Awesome, and the restaurant was Beautiful! My steak was one of the best that I've ever had, it was better than my own, which is very hard to find. The roasted corn, brussel sprouts, and mashed potatoes were out of this world. Get the stacked tuna nachos for an appetizer, you won't be disappointed!

Host advised we need a reservstion.....place was empty. Then suggested the little tables behind him....we obliged. Two couples, one Anniversary, 1st and only time in Vegas. Bartender waited on us....a bit disconnected and rusty. Waited a bit for any type of bread, then was placed on opposite table for "sharing"....mind you 2 separate orders. Then a long wait for our dinners, but figured for the price, it's par for the course. A different bartender brought the food (ours dissapeared) and it was lukewarm!?! We are from Texas, we grill steaks, etc often. These steaks (1 filet, 1 Strip) were not only lacking in any flavor, they were just ordinary. Definitely, not $70 steak. Poor service, poor quality food. All these rave reviews for food in Vegas seem to be the complete opposite.

Very appealing interior that provides fine dining setting. Steaks which were porterhouse was cooked to perfection. Forgot to order bernaise but they were prompt in rectifying my mistake. Love the off strip prices and the professional service. Only thing I would say the scantily clad woman who seats people showed a lot of cleavage. A bit vulgar for a restaurant of this caliber.

The Orleans is our go to place to stay and we love the Prime Rib Loft. Decided to try Alder & Birch and are so happy we did. The food is amazing and so is the service. Great steakhouse without the stuffy uptight feeling a lot of steakhouses have. It will be hard to decide between here and the Prime Rib Loft for dinners.

My husband and I ate dinner here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The restaurant is newly remodeled and has a very attractive appearance. It is very cozy and inviting. It has a couple of small room in back for a small group private dining. The wait staff is amazing and courteous. We have eaten here several times and the food never disappoints. I ordered the filet and my husband ordered the salmon. We shared the blue cheese scallloped potatoes that are to DIE FOR! I’m not a blue cheese fan and I have to order these every time we dine here!! The wedge salad is delicious also. They gave us a small chocolate cake that was decadent. Open 7 days a week and has happy hour specials from 4-6. You will not be disappointed!!

In a city rife with excellent restaurants, I'm glad we settled on this one for one evening of our stay. Everyone's entrees were perfectly prepared and served. Steaks almost tender enough to cut with a fork and done exactly as ordered. All of the sides were delectable. Reservations are a must. Bring your platinum card bur worth the cost.

I was with my family for a reunion. They have a room for such occasions and it seats at least 14 comfortably and it only costs $100. We were greeted by the very friendly hosts and taken to the room. It was very comfortable and spacious. They dedicated a waitress and addition host to you the whole evening, The food was amazing. I have eaten at steakhouses all over the world and I would say the steak I had was in the top 2 or 3. The sides were huge and we ordered too many for the table. They are family sized sides. The service was perfect and our waitress although very pregnant was amazing. The staff was friendly.. courteous. My group had steak, scallops, fish and everything was amazing. I would make a trip to the restaurant even if I didn't stay at the Orleans!!

First time here, tried bone marrow as an appetizer. Oh my God that was very good. Service was excellent, fun environment.

This restaurant is new and less then a year old. It replaced one of my favorite steak house restaurants in Vegas, or throughout the country for that matter. So my expectations were high to say the least. Well I was pleasantly surprised, they met my expectations on all levels. Although I am kind of a traditionalist I found the new décor inviting, beautiful, clean and sharp. As for the meal itself it was perfect, everything about it, I can not pick apart anything, portions, taste, presentation or value/price. Service was friendly and professional on time and attentive. This was such a nice experience I will recommend this as a must try for anyone visiting Vegas and Locals looking for a great place to enjoy a great meal.

We got there with a reservation. We were told to wait 5 minutes. So we did but wondered why, since the restaurant was empty. The restaurant's ambiance is above average. Staff was very friendly and very informative. Food price is about the going price of a high end steakhouse. Food was great and cooked to perfection according to your liking. Bread served could be presented better such as butter presentation (was on a plain small saucer) and bread basket used totally not presentable. First impressions....

We had a table for 4, we were promptly greeted and seated. Waitress Meryam was very pleasant and helpful. Then there was Javier, he just added to the atmosphere of the dinner. Very polite and sweet. Our meal was absolutely the best meal I’ve ever had in Vegas. I had the lamb, also ordered was the salmon, halibut and steak. The portions were bigger than I would have expected. We also tried two desserts to share, and it was amazing. Prices were reasonable for fine dining. We would definitely go again. Thank you Meryam and Javier!

Wow! What a fabulous bar & restaurant! Jerry, the bartender is so friendly and makes fantastic drinks. Loved the blackberry bramble! Our server, Justin was so knowledgeable about the menu. The food was exceptional! Hubby had the filet, cooked just the way he ordered. I had the salmon, which melted in my mouth. The scalloped potatoes & Brussels sprouts were delicious! For dessert, the bread pudding! Light and not too sweet, very tasty! Javier served our coffee and was so funny and friendly. This restaurant deserves more than 5 stars. I’d go to 7. The chef and staff are excellent in what they do. Thank you!!

I don't usually write reviews, but this was my first time coming here in and I had a wonderful experience. I had met a couple of girlfriends here in the lounge area, which is very modern and stylishly decorated. We sat and had cocktails for their happy hour before our reservations at 6pm. Let me say that they have excellent prices for the quality during the happy hour. The bar staff was very attentive and took great care of us. After we finished our cocktails the lovely hostess Jazmin sat us at John's station. He was a fantastic server, he got us everything we needed before we needed it. For my first coarse I ordered a watermelon salad, it's been so hot and it sounded refreshing. It was delicious, the goat cheese was so creamy. For my entree I ordered the 8oz medium filet and me and my girlfriends got a couple of sides to share. Our server had informed us that the sides were big enough for two or three people. We ordered the blue cheese scalloped potatoes and the brussel sprouts. Our entrees came out promptly and everything was cook to perfection. Delicious! I will be recommending Alder&Birch to all of my friends.

This is a nice upscale restaurant. I went for happy hour which is 4 to 6 p..m. Great prices for a nice selection of snacks, beer and wine. I skipped dinner tonight.

We had dined at the previous restaurant that ABCD replaced many times in the past. It was one of our favorites in Vegas. We now have a new favorite. The food and service was fantastic. A fun and hip decor makes for an excellent dining experience. We were celebrating my better half's birthday and were treated like royalty. She wanted an expresso martini (not on the drink menu) and Clint the mixologist said no worries! He had to brew a shot of expresso in the kitchen to make her the drink. She said it was the best ever! She had the Surf and Turf and commented that the lobster was terrific. I opted for the 12oz. Filet Mignon and loved it. Try the Blue Cheese Scalloped potatoes for a side. They are great. We can't wait for a return visit.

We ordered a different steak each. Only the mignon tasted acceptable. And the salad. The rest of steaks were tough, tasteless. We were actually very surprised about the poor quality of food especially the steaks. The Prime Rib was served rare when it was ordered for medium rare. Wow instead of providing a new one, they transported it back to kitchen to re-cook. And back to table. That’s unsanitary! The one star is for our pregnant waitress who was the only one who was apologetic and was genuinely friendly.

Drew and Andrya are excellent wait staff. They always make you feel like you are at home. The food is incredible and beautifully displayed. You will also love the bread tray that is presented before the meal. They have the best Old Fashioned I have ever had. This is worth the taxi drive from the strip. It is a great place to unwind from the strip action and noise.

After staying at The Orleans for a few days and trying Big Al's Oyster Bar, the bowling alley snack bar, and the medley buffet- we were not super impressed. This dinner exceeded expectations! Rik was great, drinks, apps, dinner were all excellent. Great portions, and better seafood than any of the other places... Great oysters!

This place has only been open for about 3 months, but the food and service was fantastic. I ordered the Bone-In Ribeye and my wife ordered the Grilled Halibut and both dishes were great! Our waiters were Ivan and David and they did a wonderful job. Also, we didn't have a reservation and the hostess got us a table without a huge wait time. Thanks so much!

We absolutely love this place. The steaks are amazing and the staff is top notch. Andrya is super friendly efficient and has become like family.

We had the best dinner at the staff is amazing. Uri and the staff that took care of our table were excellent. Chef specials were to die for. Wine selection is great.

Dined alone on "opening night". Personnel were obviously well trained, efficient and friendly. Service was timely. Food was above average. Pricing was within the limits I consider to be reasonable, not the outrageous pricing which reigns on the strip. Good food, great value. I'll be back.

This restaurant is where Canal Street used to be so t's an Orleans owned restaurant. It has today's open dining design which is supposed to reflect current trending style. Being an older Las Vegas resident you don't have a choice when corporate changes are made. Some are good and others not so good. My wife and myself dined for dinner around 6:30. Her current food choices for now are very limited for health reasons but the menu has most groups represented. They bring you a very nice bread basket ( a good thing). All items are al a carte. I started with a watermelon salad evoo with a little goat cheese and sea salt (7) . This Was surprisingly good which the server said would be. My wife would have loved a salad especially mine but couldn't and I felt her pain watching me. Protein she can have so we both had the 18 oz rib eye (43). It said grass fed , I expected better beef but it was good. The chefs are the same from CS and our medium order was properly cooked with a pink moist center. We shared grilled asparagus which was nicely prepared and ample for two(7) greens she can have also. We declined desert again for restrictions . I'm sure they would also be delicious as we have had them before You have to remember we have dined in many nice established restaurants some of which no longer exist. Yesterday is past and is only to glanced back occasionally. Every thing associated with a casino now has to make money. That is how it is today. One day the corporate members may feel customers are real people deserving something for their money but don't hold out waiting, Just enjoy what they allow us to inside their establishment. If you chose to dine here I doubt you would have a bad experience and you most certainly could do a lot worse. The staff and servers were excellent but then it was Wednesday night and just a few of us dining. I miss the older Las Vegas and Canal Street . Hope this helps to make your choice if you consider dining there.

Very nice bar area. We sat at the low table in front of the bar. Ordered 2 specialty drinks and the pretzels appetizer with hot mustard. A lavender drink with champagne and a Bourbon Old Fashioned, Both were excellent.

Great selection of entree's . Large portion sizes. Friendly staff with fast service. Relaxing atmosphere.

This was my first time eating at Alder and Birch and will certainly not be the last. I was in a group of 5 and we had no issues being seated on a Monday evening in December without reservations. However I would definitely recommend reserving a table on a Friday/Sat night. The service was excellent. The waitress was quick to take our drink order and frequented our table even after ordering our food. Our waitress was beyond pleasant in that her polite mannerisms did not see forced or fake. The food, while a bit pricey, was slightly cheaper than what you would find at a fine dining establishment on the strip. All items were a la cart and cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were some of the best I have ever had. And better yet was the lobster Mac and cheese. There was literally lobster in every bite. My group had a variety of steaks and my girlfriend indulged in the lamb. The consensus by all was A++. I go to Vegas every November and always stay at the Orleans. Alder and Birch will forever now be included in my Vegas pre-thanksgiving itinerary. Kudos to Alder and Birch!!!

very good HH. great atmosphere, waiter set us 6 up with three tables near fireplace. we enjoyed the calmari, rock shrimp GREAT, kobe meatballs and stuffed mushrooms. i enjoyed the shrimp the best, but all the HH apps were delicious. service was fine, attentive and friendly. have no problem visiting again when at the ORLEANS casino.

Very nice, the staff was very friendly and provided good service. I was surprised with the prices, I thought they were going to be much higher. Food and the atmosphere were great!

Can’t say enough about this hidden gem. Wonderful ambience, delicious food, and hospitable and friendly staff. Our filet was cooked perfectly and we got the Australian lobster tail add-on (sweet and amazingly good). Make the trip to the Orleans for laid back gambling ($10 Blackjack!) and an excellent meal.

The filet mignon was melt-in-your-mouth perfectly cooked and the Diver Scallops were delicately caramelized and tasty! Sides are a la cart but most are generous portions and will serve 2. Service was attentive and cocktails were very good. Cozy seating in bar area and nice fireplace for ambiance. Prices are just about right for a more upscale type restaurant. Only slight disappointment was the key lime pie; it needed more tang of a key lime and tasted like it might have been frozen and then thawed.

Start out with either the Kobe meatballs or Tempura Shrimp, both are excellent. The double cut pork chop was cooked just perfectly and came with wonderful pan fried apples, that just a the slightest crunch. Sides that we ordered were the lobster mac and cheese and bleu cheese potatoes. Everything, including the service was excellent ! Highly recommend.

My husband and I recently met relatives at this restaurant, and we will be going back every time we visit Vegas. We ordered the New York Strip and Lobster Tail dinners. The food melted in our mouths. Everything was delicious! The sides are large enough to share and the chocolate cake dessert is large enough for 3 people to share. We can't wait to eat here next time we're in Vegas!

Ribeye cuts like butter. The drinks are wonderful. Bones and Jerry are the bomb. Tanguarey Sterling Vokda

Great food, great atmosphere, Michael was wonderful who answered all our questions. Blue cheese scallop potatoes soo good. And I am not a Brussel spout person but so good. I ordered a 7oz filet, cooked perfectly, was good, not the best steak I had but tasty. I will be back. Thank you.

After having cocktails here during Happy Hour booked a table for the next evening. We were delighted with our food which came on hot plates and was cooked as ordered. Chose one side plate each which we shared between us and still had some left over. As would be expected this restaurant has a good wine list.

Although the general atmosphere of the Orleans is decidedly seedy, this restaurant has a beautiful decor, and once one steps inside, we are no longer subjected to the tacky exterior of the casino. The food is wonderful and well-priced. The service was equally enjoyed, and our waiter, Rik, was knowledgeable and friendly.

After a long drive from California we checked in late and only wanted a snack. Greeted warmly by the entire staff especially by our server Mark. We only ordered appetizers and drinks, so I cannot opine on the main courses. My onion soup was excellent, as was the carpaccio. The wedge salad was great and the short rib was good but a little too salty. The only criticism is that of the wine list is not so steak house compatible.

We really liked the Canal Street fine dining restaurant in the Orleans and were sad to see it go. But Alder & Birch is an excellent eatery and did not leave us disappointed. I had the 12 oz fillet Mignon and it was perfect. Thick, lean, succulent cut. Cooked perfectly medium, with a light char but not burnt. Seasoned just right, so you do not need to mask the flavor with sauces. The rib eye was also done just right. The sides are served family style, and one order is good for 2-3 people easily. Good service. Atmosphere is a bit modern rather than cozy, but I guess times move on. At least the side booths have high dividing walls for some (audio) privacy. The tables in the middle are much noisier. We were too full to try the deserts. Dinner for two was around $100, which is actually below average cost in the casinos. Good value, good food.

My friend and I dined at Alder and Birch on Thursday, April 20, 2017. We were staying at the Orleans for two nights and initially we had planned to have our big splurge meal at the Silverado Steakhouse at the South Point Hotel Casino, which we feel has the best high end steak value in town. Upon checking in on Wednesday we were given some coupons, one of which was $30 off orders over $60 at Alder and Birch. We knew right away that our order would easily exceed the $60 threshold and I had never dined at the premium steakhouse of the Orleans, even when the same A&B location was called Canal Street a few years ago. The coupon was an offer we couldn’t refuse so we decided right then and there to forego the Silverado and give A&B a shot. On the way back from the gym later Wednesday afternoon we passed by A&B and asked if we needed reservations. The hostess checked and it was wide open for Thursday night, but highly recommended reservations on Fridays or Saturdays. The decor of Alder and Birch is very contemporary dark wood and glass with taupe walls and seating. The lighting is much brighter than Canal Street and glass exterior walls draw you in to peak inside from the casino floor (to be fair most high end steakhouses are dimly lit). The front portion of the restaurant is a lounge/bar area for drinks and socializing with a partial wall separating the main dining area. As usual with most premium steakhouses everything was a la carte. We both ordered the 12 oz filet mignon and my friend had a baked potato and I had a three onion soup appetizer. Our waiter told us that the 12 oz steak would take longer to cook than normal. We were served some nice bread with butter and then my soup not too long after. Our steaks arrived after about 17-20 minutes and there were no hot plates with crackling butter like Ruth’s Chris or L.G.’s Palm Springs. My friend, who is the more knowledgable on steak quality, really enjoyed the steak and it was indeed tasty and buttery soft. Yum. Prior to A&B we had hit the Orleans big buffet three times and I was feeling bloated so I probably should have ordered the 8oz size steak. For dessert we had three scoops of ice cream. More yum! With the coupon our bill with tip was just under $100, which we felt was a great deal! If the Orleans ever has coupons like that again (or we hit a jackpot) it’s a sure thing we will hit A&B for another great meal.

We came here on Christmas for dinner. We had a very attentive server who had a great personality. The hostesses & manager were also pleasant. Four of us were dining, with two of us ordering from the Christmas prix fixe menu, the other two ordering from the regular dinner menu. From the Christmas menu, the two of us shared two entries, beef wellington & the other the mixed grill with lamb chop lollipop, Steak Diane, and Jumbo shrimp, with a starter each of lobster bisque and salad. The lamb lollipop and Steak Diane were *amazing*. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, just not very flavorful. The beef wellington was not as tasty as I has hoped. It tasted like the pastry was basted in old oil, which lingered in every bite. Having some pastry-brush hairs baked into the wellington pastry didn't help. The bisque was good, just a touch too salty. Oddly, the couscous and vegetables were undercooked (brussel sprouts & fingerling potatoes). While the food was not quite on par, this is a lovely venue and the service was outstanding.

While staying at the Orleans Hotel and Casino, we had dinner at Alder & Birch to celebrate a friends birthday. Our waitress Andrya was great, very friendly and provide great suggestions for dinner. My filet was cooked to perfection, and my friend who had the short rib raved on how tender and tasty her dinner was.

I was with a large group and ordered the $50 bone in ribeye. My instructions were, jokingly, "two minutes on each side is enough. I want it as rare as you can provide my steak." Needless to say, my steak was grey in the middle, totally overcooked and ruined. If I was not with a large group I would have sent it back. On the other hand, those who ordered medium and medium rare steaks had red centers. I understand that groups of 15 can be tough, but I did not enjoy my experience and would not be back. There are much better options a short shuttle ride away.

Visited Alder on week it opened ,Replaced a very nice, older restaurant although it was very dark then. New Decor is wonderful Staff prompt, thoughtful and overly attentive..Food was Very Good, Sea Bass tasted like it came from Ocean that day. Steak I enjoyed was what you come to expect in a Good Restaurant. All in all a treat, Nice if you have time to visit

This restaurant was fine dining at its best. Food was excellent. Service was top notch and atmosphere was a perfect setting for the celebration. Server was engaging and knowledgeable about to menu and provided recommendations. Definitely worth experiencing when in Vegas.

Food was excellent, service was awesome. ambiance was superb. Blue cheese scalloped potatoes were a treat! All good

It's hard to find great traditional rack of lamb or lamb chops anymore - but Alder & Birch serves it up perfectly. Start your meal off with some French onion soup and add a loaded baked potato and you are set. I realize that it is a "casual" fine dining restaurant, however, the ambience leaves a lot to be desired and the seating is a little too close for my liking. Without even trying, you can listen to the conversation of the parties at adjoining tables.

Me and my family of 12 had dinner at the above on 12/7/17 For the most part all had the rodeo special Steak was of poor quality and baked potatoe was prossesed earlier in the day But the reason for this review was that the bald headed waiter asked us all if we wanted a topping on our steak some said yes but most said no - but the scheme was that there was an upcharge for the topping which the waiter NEVER mention So this caniving waiter made some of our dinners to be much more so we are staying away from this place in the future

One word to describe this place: EXCELLENT! New place in the Orleans, gave it a try and can't say enough about it. In Vegas and near Orleans, go!

One of the best restaurants in Las Vegas. It is inside the Orleans Casino and worth the trip from the strip. It is a regular for us. The lounge is small and friendly and a perfect place for afternoon Happy Hour from 4-6. Bartenders Jerry and Brandon will make you feel at home. They prepare generous cocktails and appetizers.

Our server Jerry was so informative, the cocktails he mixed for us were super. The appetizers were abundant, delicious and the Tomatoes bisque was so tasty. We can't wait to try their main dishes

I had dinner with a friend who is notoriously hard to please in a restaurant. I loved the decor and the quiet! Our server was very personable and knowledgeable. We asked to speak to the manager after we ate so we could let him know how impressed we were. David was wonderful to talk with and really knows his business. The food was just delicious, service very smooth and we had a lovely evening. Can't wait to visit again! This is a breath of fresh air for a local casino!

Alder & Birch is a steakhouse located at the Orleans Hotel and Casino. I dined were with a party of 4. I will start off with the Bad: Made a reservation for 5:45pm. Arrived at 5:30pm. They would not seat me until 5:45. Really? You open up at 5:00pm so I know no one was at the table. Ordered two steaks. A Bone-In Ribeye $49.00, and a New York Strip $43.00. I asked if they would serve it family style or cut in half? I was told......"no....restaurant policy". I have been to high end steakhouses in Las Vegas, and they have no problem with splitting steaks in half. Just saying! Now the Good: Good wine list at a reasonable price. Nice change of pace from the price gouging at other Casino's. The Food - good quality at reasonable prices Recently remodeled. Service was adequate. Manager even checked on us a few times. Tips: Happy hour 4:00pm - 6:00pm. Dessert - stay away from the ice cream. Tasted like something I could buy at Walmart! Overall - not a bad "play" if you are on a budget and looking for something better then the Outback steakhouse.

The Orleans is stepping up their game with the addition of Alder and Birch. We loved the atmosphere of this place the moment we walked in. A bit lighter and brighter than an old school steakhouse with a great mix of elegance and relaxed at the same time. Kevin was our server and one of the best we have encountered in our numerous trips to Vegas. The food is outstanding. We had the sirloin and it was beyond tender and tasty. The onion soup is one of the best I have had. And the prices are very reasonable. They have obviously tried to create a steakhouse that is competitive with the strip offerings and, in our opinion, succeeded. I had a soup and my wife a salad for starters. Two great steaks, side dish, four drinks (call) and two deserts and the bill was a little over $150 with a VERY generous tip. It was more than we could eat. That is very reasonable for Vegas. Top rate atmosphere and furnishings, great food and excellent service. I wish it was in our hometown. We will definitely be back. If you are looking for a great steakhouse meal while in Vegas, you cannot go wrong with Alder and Birch. And be sure and ask for Kevin.

A very attractive muted-modern décor is supplemented by very good service, very good wines, and very good steaks.

We went to dinner at Adler & Birch's for their dinner Valentine's Day special. What wonderful food and was great presentations. The Valentine's Day menu was special and consisted of: Crab cake with roasted pepper coulis; cream of asparagus soup or very berry salad; salmon Wellington or mixed grill of petite filet mignon, crab-stuffed prawn and bacon-wrapped scallop; and Venetian cherry chocolate mousse cake, I ordered the filet mignon which was done to perfection. My friend had the salmon Wellington and he said it was very tasty. The dessert was perfect to end this wonderful meal. Everything tasted fabulous and the presentation of the food was excellent. We all felt very special on this day. It's a beautiful restaurant and the staff is very friendly. Even though it was a "full house" service was prompt.

Though the restaurant is very modern and upscale looking, you are welcome to dine dressed as you are. Staff is very welcoming and personable. You have a lot of choices for appetizers, food and drink. I had the tomato basil bisque to start and it was delicious. Followed that with a watermelon salad and four huge diver scallops for dinner that were cooked to perfection. My husband had the pork chop with sautéed apples and a huge baked potato. Sadly, there was no room for dessert. We'll definitely go back on our next visit.

We’ve been here several times. The food and service are always good. If you’re gambling here or nearby, it’s a solid choice for fine dining.

This is a lot nicer than the previous steak house at the Orleans. The prices are really cheap for Las Vegas. My filet was ok! My wife had a really good salmon dish. Better than average food and service.

Three of us went to dinner here, and Everything was delicious or better. We sampled each other's meal, and not one bad or so-so comment on any item. We had the Bone-in Ribeye, Prime Cut New York, Pork Chop, Crab Cakes, Scallops, with different types of potatoes. The cuts of meat were large & thick. Cooked to perfection, tender, and very tasty. We had 3-different desserts, and each were just fantastic, especially the Rum Cake with ice cream and warm rum poured over it. We were sated, but could not stop eating. The waitress, Meryan, was wonderful. Knowledgeable with a great personality and winning smile. She was the touch needed to make this a perfect evening.

We recently dined at the Alder and Birch Restaurant in the Orleans Casino Resort This is the restaurant that replaced the Canal Restaurant. The food was delicious but one word of caution, the Entrees are all Ala Carte. As a diner at the restaurant you pay for everything separately. This includes any extra sauces, starches, that normally come with your main Entrees. Literally you get what we call a "naked Steak" If you don't mind Dining in this fashion the Entrees are delicious but it's not a Ruth Chris Steakhouse. In the competitive dining environment of Las Vegas the restaurant is a convenient place to dine if you are in the hotel.

The former Canal Street restaurant at the Orleans hotel has been remodeled and reopened as Alder & Birch. Unfortunately didn't see any of the former Canal Street wait staff as they've been replaced my younger personnel. Perhaps that's the image Orleans wants now with Alder & Birch. Food was good but the younger wait staff didn't seem as interested in service as the seasoned crew at Canal Street. Perhaps it's due to restaurant being new (only opened on February 3, 2016). Menu is ala carte with side item portions huge enough for sharing. Also if you order ice cream for dessert the plate comes with 3 separate scoops of ice cream in own dish so technically 3 folks can enjoy their ice cream with just one dessert order so please keep this in mind if you do order. Menu prices are higher priced but the decor of restaurant was modern and clean. Positive note is Alder & Birch has own restroom inside restaurant as Canal Street didn't have their own restrooms inside before.

The food was good, not great. The prime rib was very grisly, the chicken was dry with very little taste. For the price is wasn't worth it.

Stayed at the Orleans hotel and tried out a new restaurant called Alder and Birch, WOW! This place was great. Happy Hour had some creative drinks that I really liked. Went back the next night and had dinner, Chilean Sea Bass which was fantastic and my wife had lobster mac and cheese. For desert we had banana rum cake which was excellent. This place is as good as any strip restaurant and equally appointed in decor. A notch above what has been at the Orleans. Classy!

Afternoons from 4-6 PM is the pace to be during Happy Hour at the cocktail lounge. We were recently there for our third trip and found it as compelling as ever. Ask Brandon of Jerry to fix you a New York Sour or a Classic Martini. You will not be disappointed. The appetizer specials are as delicious and generous as ever. Calamari, Kobe Meatballs, and short ribs are still favorites. Brandon and Jerry give personal attention as servers and bartenders. If you stay for dinner, try the lamb or scallops. You will not be disappointed!

So glad we got to experience this upmarket Alder and Birch which opened during our stay at the Orleans. We did not use the restaurant but sat at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed the ambience, friendly bar staff, great cocktails and appetizers especially during happy hour. A plus for the Orleans.

No comparison to our previous visit in 8/2016. During that visit we ordered "house steaks" four sides, two cocktails and dessert. Everything was excellent. And service was outstanding so I was looking forward to dining here again. This time we ordered steaks from the "prime steaks" section of menu, two sides, dessert and cocktails. Steaks were surprisingly ehhh. My New York steak was flavorless and tough (if you do dine here better off not spending the extra money for their "prime steaks") Best part of our meal was the scalloped potatoes which is kind of pathetic. Our bill was over $200.00 and sad to say was not worth it this time but I must say the ambience is still very nice. By the way we arrived on a Monday a tad after 5pm and the place was empty but the hostess said they were booked solid but could "fit us in" at 6pm. We looked at her confused because the place was empty but whatever she looked like she didn't want to be there and we were bothering her so we returned at 6pm and guess what....the place was still empty, just 2 tables dining and a couple in the lounge area. Our server was terrible. We saw her twice, once trying to rush us to take our order and again AFTER our meal. Just like the hostess she seemed like she didn't want to be there. I don't think she smiled once. Employees can certainly destroy a business. We both left feeling very angry for paying so much for this "fine dining" experience.

Fantastic Dining experience. From the manager to the entire staff, everyone made us feel special. The steak was as good as other places on the strip,at a much lower cost.

My wife and I come here at least twice a month. The food is very good and the price is reasonable. We eat in the cocktail area and Jerry and Bones are the best. They are always joyful and take excellent care of their customers. We have had visitors from out of town comment on how great the service is. Try Alder & Birch, you won't be disappointed.

The Bar is nice to sit at and the happy hour food is okay. We sat down for dinner but looking at the menu we left. I would recommend this place for drinks and an appetizer but I would go some place different for dinner

Overpriced! Service was good. Easy location in Orleans casino. Recently remodeled. Food was good but not great. Overpriced ala carte menu. Hard to recommend a second time.

Upscale dinner house, quiet, sparkling clean, table cloths, attentive wait staff nice food choices a la carte..

The lounge at Alder & Birch is the place to be between 4 and 6 PM daily. Their specialty cocktails cater to everyone's taste, and are at a reduced price. The appetizers are extremely generous and can easily serve as a light meal. We recommend the Kobe Beef Meatballs, Tempura Rock Shrimp, and Bacon Wrapped dates stuffed with blue cheese. Jerry and Bones are bartenders as well as servers and mix the cocktails to your specifications. They make you feel right at home. The restaurant itself offers an excellent dining experience at a fair price. We had Filet Minion, Lamb Chops, and Scallops. All were excellent, and the portions were generous. It is worth the visit no matter where you are staying in Las Vegas

My husband and I had reservations for 7:00 on May 3rd, but we were starving at 6:00. The hostess seated us immediately. Our waiter, Justin, was very attentive and brought our drinks right away. We both ordered "and the mule I rode in on." He got the raspberry and I chose lemon. Very tasty. I ordered the tomato-basil bisque. It was delicious! We shared a watermelon salad which was very refreshing. My husband had the double cut pork chops with sautéed apples and a huge baked potato on the side. I had the diver scallops which were soooooo good! There was a bread basket on the table as well, so needless to say, dessert was not an option. Next time, for sure. This was a very enjoyable dinner and not at all rushed. We will be back again and again.

We went there specifically for the scallops and they were very good. The Lobster Mac & Cheese was also very good. I also liked the sun dried tomato bread. The service is friendly though it was initially slow because it was busy that night.

This is a new addition to the Orleans and overall it is great. I had a few minor complaints...and they are minor. I don't appreciate being told to take a seat when I show up five minutes early for a reservation and not be seated until EXACTLY the appointed time....felt like they were trying to get us buy more in the bar. The lighting is too bright in the dining area. But the service, other than the hostesses, was outstanding and the food was very good. The creamed corn side was to die for...definitely order it.

The Alder & Birch has only been opened two weeks and is becoming a popular dining spot in the Orleans Casino & Resort. For you who remember the old Canal Room in this resort, the Alder & Birch is doing a great job at repeating the fine dining atmosphere and great service. The menu has a lot of options. We had the Pork Chops and New York Strip Steak, both of which were prepared perfectly. We also enjoyed several of the sides. Justin, our server, was very attentive to our table and the manager came over several times to make sure we were happy. I strongly recommend the Alder & Birch. We will definitely be coming back.

We've been to alder & birch several times and are always impressed with the food, drinks and service. Happy hour runs 4-6 and features wildly underpriced hand-mixed cocktails. The staff is wonderful, service is fast and very friendly. Bones, bartender and current Orleans employee of the month is great asset, we always feel welcome. Can't wait to come for dinner, the steaks are well-priced and I am sure they will be as good as the apps. The Orleans is revamping all their restaurants, if this is an indication if what's to come, they're on the right track.

We stopped for a bite to eat and sat at the bar area. Bartenders were very nice and waited on ur very quickly. We enjoyed a couple cocktails and ordered a few appetizers including the meat balls, crap cakes, seafood platter and crispy shrimp. We saved just enough room for dessert and chose the bread pudding. Wow very good and worth every bite! Thank you for a nice evening.

Generally, the service and food is good. As locals, we dine there often.Four of us dined on Saturday, and the service was good. Avoid the Prime rib though it was a dish of fat and difficult to cut with a knife. Borderline inedible perhaps an off night.I'm surprised they served it.Caution

We stopped in for a date night and we wanted to check this place out after hearing about it. Our server was Alex. He suggested some great drinks, apps, and of course desserts for us. Food was great, lobster Mac, creamed corn and Chocolate Decadence were our favorite. Give Alder & Birch a shot you will not be disappointed. Ask for Alex.

This is a fantastic restaurant and upscale setting that is celebrating its 1 month anniversary tonight. Happy hours are 4pm to 6pm, see Alex at the bar, he is a wonderful mixologist. Your love the warm greeting from the hostess and the beautiful setting including a gas fireplace. We enjoyed the tempura fried shrimp, portobello mushroom caps stuffed with beef short rib meat, and wow if you want a wonderful dessert try the banana rum cake not to be missed. Even the manager stopped by to make that everything was perfect.

I got the bone in ribeye with grilled creamed corn. Wow! The steak was cooked perfect and tasted delicious. The grilled creamed corn had birch syrup in it and rocked. I would go back just for the corn. I kinda regretted the steak later as it was such a huge portion. Next time I will get a filet as my friend's filet looked awesome and that is typically the cut of meat I get. I was adventurous that evening and while I loved it, I also wished I had not. We ate at the bar since my buddy who had won a pile at the poker table earlier said he said he was buying and he wanted to sit there. I wish I had the bartenders name. Since my buddy paid he got the receipt. It was around 6 pm on Friday night the 7th of October. He was awesome. Fun, funny, polite, and had great advice. It is Vegas

We live in Las Vegas and have tried many, many restaurants. We were happy when we learned that Orleans had made some changes. The bar opens at 4:00 and we had lovely service, a bottle of wine and an appetizer. We moved on to dinner at 5:00 and our meals were wonderful. Every server was very pleasant and helpful, starting with the bartender. We like it so much we are planning our anniversary dinner party there!

Wonderful, fun greeters, waiters, and bartenders! Good food and drinks too. Elegant decor and just opened five weeks ago.

This place delivers fantastic food in a quality place and atmosphere at great value. I found this to be one of the best steak houses I have eaten in while in Vegas. On my tick list for another visit.

The food and drinks were awesome. Great service. The onion soup was amazing, nice wedge salad. Good steaks with lobster mac n cheese.

We are at this restaurant on a whim. I was surprised at the excellence of it. It wasn't crowded but I am not sure why not. Then location is off the Casino at the Orleans hotel, but most restaurants in Las Vegas are off the Casino. We were seated immediately. Our server was attentive but not over the top. Food choices were good and reasonably priced. The quality of the food was a solid 10. If you don't go here you will be missing one of the best restaurants in a city with fabulous dining

Went to Alder and Birch in a quest to find the best Manhattan in Vegas. The place is in the somewhat downscale Orleans (though we played tables there for an hour and found it the nicest gambling joint we visited in a seven day visit to Vegas). We went to Alder and Birch on the recordation of a waiter at another joint. He told us to ask for Brandon there. Brandon showed up and took extremely good care of us. The restaurant and lounge are beautiful and a great top location. Very classy and cool. We ordered their bacon infused Manhattan – a truly great ultra–tasty drink. Very special and unique. Really – that Manhattan is worth the trip here. We were hungry, were there at Happy Hour and ordered apps. They were superbly delicious – especially the Thai shrimp which were some of the best shrimp I have ever eaten (and I am a dedicated shrimp guy). The calamari were excellent – which is saying something.Their Happy Hour prices were spectacular. A very good deal for very upscale fare. I know The Orleans is not on most people's foodie lists, but this place is a gem sitting in a very unlikely location. Great hand–crafted cocktails (really – I wish I could fly back right now for the bacon infused Manhattan), excellent foodie-level bar food in a very lux environment. This is a place that is worth adding to your foodie or cocktail list for your exodus to Vegas. Wish I could go back right now. Really. Ask for Brandon and have a genuinely great time.

Came in with friends a couple days ago (a Friday) they weren't crazy busy but it wasn't dead either. Weird that a place this nice and with such great food wasn't totally packed. Feel like I found a hidden gem. Alex was my server and he was awesome. He explained you can make any steak a surf and turf. I'm a rib eye aficionado and their bone in rib eye is amongst the best ever. I opted to add crab over lobster and the crab legs are huge and you don't have to crack them, you just pull out this huge piece of meat. I also loved the sweet chili fried shrimp. I will definitely be back, hopefully Alex will be working bc he was great! Overall was wonderful. You need to try this place!

Lots to choose from the menu, they do not do take out, we sat and had a wonderful meal, quiet and relaxing.

We had another great meal here with our favorite server, Drew. He’s very personable and always remembers us and welcomes us back. They have a great dining room with a fireplace and plenty of booths. The French onion soup was tasty. We ordered the prime rib mid rare and it came out perfectly. The sides are easily big enough for two or more ppl so we only ordered two which was still a lot of food for us, especially if you get an appetizer or first course. The bread and water service staff were very attentive. We usually go early evening after a movie and have never had a problem getting in asap without a reservation. Prices are reasonable as we were able to have dinner for two ( 2 soups, two prime rib, two sides, dessert, coffee and a bottle of red wine) for under $200 before tip. The staff here is always welcoming and is a big reason we keep returning.

We stopped for happy hour first I had two special coctail they were Yummy !!Blackberry Bramble Ketel One Vodka, Blackberry Balsamic Syrup, Cointreau & Lavender Kiss Dehydrated Lavender Flower, Ketel One Vodka, Grand Marnier, Champagne Then we went to dining my SO had Three Onion Soup Crouton, Gruyère, Apple Cider & Colorado Lamb Rack*Served Single Bone, Lamb Jus, Serrano Mint Gelatin I had the Wedge salad & Wild Pacific Salmon*Baked on an Alder Plank, Crawfish Tails, Spinach, Nantua Sauce, Crème Fraîche Both dishes were excellent lamb was perfectly cooked The wait staff was attentive without hovering. Alder & Birch nice location for being inside a casino Perfect Ambiance & Service will try again some time Will be back for the blackberry bramble !!

We were greeted and seated immediately by the very nice hostess. Kevin was our waiter and he too was very friendly and professional. He knew everything about the food and bar menu. He knew exactly the right times to stop by and check on us too. We ordered 12 oz filet mignon, 14 oz ribeye, cream corn, mashed potatoes, bleu cheese scalloped potatoes, brussel sprouts and ice cream for dessert. Everything was delicious. We absolutely LOVED the sides and I just wanted to keep eating them! They were all so flavorful (and good sized portions too!) Also, I never eat bread but I found my hands many times in the bread basket trying the different breads and homemade cracker......really really good! We also had a specialty drink called Spruce Goose which had a unique taste. We had ice cream for dessert. You choose 3 flavors which we chose french vanilla, chocolate and spumoni. The spumoni was the best I've ever tasted. The decor is very nice which included a big fireplace between the bar/lounge area and dining room. We look forward to returning to try more items on the menu.

The Prime rib was cooked to perfection at medium rare and was more than enough. Sides were typical but quite good.

Bartenders at Alder & Birch are the best yet. Moscow Mules to the "T". Staff always accommodating and pleasant. Oysters the best yet. Steaks made to your taste

Went there on a lark to impress a business contact and was more than pleasantly surprised. It is a new place in the Orleans Hotel Resort and Casino. A little pricey but honestly the best steaks and rack of lamb I have ever eaten and I am 74 years old and been around the world twice and back. In fact I went back the next night with a close compadre and had the rack of lamb again. My son was with us the first night and he let me taste his 14 oz steak which was perfectly cooked at med rare and melted in your mouth. Oh and my son had the rack of lamb the next night too with me. Don't miss this place.

We were going to a concert at the Orleans and had a coupon for free wi decided to try it. Fabulous is the word I would use. Free wine was great, meat cooked to perfection. Creme brulee wonderful. We had no expectations, so this exceeded. Alex was a perfect waiter, food came out fast and service was great. We will go back. Price was expensive, but worth it.

I’m an out of towner, but visit vegas frequently. Every trip, I make sure to visit Alder and Birch. The quality of absolutely EVERYTHING is phenomenal. The ambiance of the restaurant is excellent, the decor is excellent, the intimacy of the restaurant is excellent. I truly have nothing to say but great things! The wait staff, especially Alex, my favorite server, are very attentive and knowledgeable. Alex knew all of the answers to our questions and even recommended the perfect wine pairings for every dish, talk about impressive. My favorite dish is the king crab legs at market price. They are huge and definitely deliver on the flavor. My other favorite are the blue cheese au gratin potatoes. I have tried to replicate these at home and cannot come close to the flavor. Always an excellent experience and I always feel like a VIP. I recommended alder and Birch to all my friends and family.

Meryam was an excellent waitress. All of the steaks were very good. So was the asparagus. And the dessert was great.

If you are staying at the Orleans, don't want to leave the casino and are satisfied with okay then OKAY. The standout description is average. Food won't kill you, staff might not remember you are there and your border collies won't bowl you over trying to get to the take-out. They will swallow, but they won't chew. The room is nice, the chairs are comfortable, some of the presentations are pretty, but it is unlikely to a repeat visit.

Well I was very surprised. My husband and I went to have a nice steak dinner and found our new place to go. Justin our waiter was excellent and supporting staff was great as well. Next time we come to Vegas we will definitely be coming again. The filet was perfect and the mashed potatoes were just yum.

We have a second home in Summerlin and visit the usual local places close to us. We heard about this new place in the Orleans Hotel and Casino that took the place of Canal Street. We were very skeptical about a high caliber restaurant in a very smoky and locals casino. But our friends were spot on. This place is a gem and worth the drive from Summerlin. Celeste (formally bartender at T Bones at Red Rock) and Mark were outstanding. Everything was spot on the whole night. My steak was one of the best I have ever had and the well mixed martini made everything right. My only complaint was the bar seating is small, I had to stand for some time until a second spot opened up. There were people sipping a wine and we were ordering 2 full blown meals and appitizers. It would have been nice if those patrons would have moved to a bar area table made for that purpose as the table tops are more for cocktails than dinner. But this does not diminish my 5 star rating. We can't wait to go back even with the 30 minute drive. We might just go later so we get two seats together at the bar. I wish the management would consider letting us reserve 2 seats at the bar if we are ordering full meals and not killing time sipping a drink taking up space.

think this is new to the Orleans not there last year menue is excellent and varied couldn't fault anything about this establishment

What a gem tucked away in the Orleans Hotel & Casino! Seriously, one of the best meals we've eaten in Las Vegas. The Three Onion Soup is delicious. Steaks were cooked perfectly, and were extremely high quality meats. And every side we ordered was unique and tasty - especially the Lobster Mac & Cheese, and the Scalloped Potatoes. Top that off with perfect service (thanks, Justin!) and it adds up to a return trip on our next visit!

Food Was great. Service fantastic. Server was able to answer all menu questions right away without having to check with the kitchen

We wondered in and decided to eat dinner here and were glad we did. My husband had the filet and lobster mac and cheese both delicious. I ordered the chopped vegetable salad and it was a little different ( no lettuce) chopped beets, carrots, snow peas, corn and peppers, It was not what I was expecting and I do not like beets, so this was not for me but thankfully I ordered the crab cakes for dinner and they were wonderful. Next time I will read the menu more carefully. But everything else was delicious.

This is a 5 star steakhouse at the Orleans with extremely value prices. The place is new and very sharp. The bar area is very nice and they have great happy hour prices - $6 for a beer. Also, there is a happy hour bar menu. A 12 oz steak is $38 and the sides run $7. I have been to many a steakhouse in Vegas and this place is rated at the top. The service was great, everyone was professional, I cannot say enough good things. If you want 5 star treatment for a great value price, you will not go wrong here.

The Happy Hour here is amazing, and dinner is even better. The Ahi Tuna appetizer is a must have; it is paired with a cucumber sorbet that is refreshing and light and delicious. The Diver Scallops are huge and in an amazing sauce. My steak was cooked perfectly and the Béarnaise sauce perfect.

While staying at the Orleans had social hour here, enjoyed our appetizers and specialty cocktails and the servers were very good. Great prices for social hour.

We look forward to dining at Alder and Birch whenever we are in Las Vegas. It is one of the best steakhouses we have visited. The food is great and prepared correctly. The service is excellent. Thursday night we had Alex as our server. He made the night enjoyable.

First time here to meet an old friend and talk war stories. The place opens at 4 PM and happy Hour starts at the bar. A couple of drinks and the happy hour apps of fried calamari, and the fried rock shrimp took the edge off. Both dishes were fresh, plenty, good for happy hour and delish. Wash it down with a couple of martinis and a Orange Shock top beer and the rest was history. Great to get together with the enclosed door so there is a nice conversation and no smoke. Enjoy!!!

Ambiance is really nice and the service was excellent. Had the prime rib medium rare and it was perfect. Wedge salad was also good.

Never been before, but went in around 7:30pm and no wait for dinner. I ordered the onion soup which was superb plus the crab cakes, which were really crabby, but a little too fishy... Husband had the 12 oz filet mignon, which was perfectly cooked and so tender. The wait staff were attentive without hovering. They also have a nice wine menu. Nice location for being inside a casino, and no smoke leak though.

Delicious cocktails and appetizers. Service is fast and friendly and cocktails are yum. Dinner is good but honestly if you want beef please go up to Prime Loft upstairs. This a nice restaurant and again I highly recommend for cocktails and appetizers but go upstairs for dinner.

Delicious, date night romantic dinner. We received a dining offer from the Orleans hotel for Alder & Birch and had to come and try it. We arrived during happy hour and enjoyed a discount on appetizers and cocktails. We started with the 1/2 dozen oysters. Delicious and served with plenty of horseradish, marinara and Tabasco 5/5. The bread basket was also good with three kinds of breads: crispy Parmesan, sweet bread (not sure what kind but it was delicious) and sour dough. We ordered a couple cocktails: Madras and a Huckleberry Love signature cocktail. For the meal we shared a 12oz Filet Mignon perfectly cooked Medium 5/5 and the lump crab cakes, filled completely with crab meat 5/5. During the meal we also enjoyed a Gimlet. After our meal we saved room for some cream brûlée served with champagne sorbet, whipped cream and strawberries 4/5. Over all a great date night meal, superb service and beverages and an even better meal. Will be back again!

This place is the only restaurant inside of The Orleans that I would consider having “good” food. The inside isn’t as smoky as the rest of the hotel and the steak and lobster mac n cheese is super yummy. They have a cute bar and front lounge area as well as a back restaurant area. The service is pretty good too. I’ve been twice and will definitely go back.

Tonight was my first time for dinner at Alder & Birch. It certainly will not be my last. From the moment you walk in, until you walk out you feel the excellent service. This is top notch service. We, (my friend and I) were welcomed, we were an hour ahead of our reservation the host accomidated us immediately with a table, the servers were knowledgeable and had great recommendations for our meal as well as perfect wine pairings. I ordered a perfectly prepared prime rib (spot on Chief) with all of the accompanying sides, a salad and multiple bread selections. The beef was flavorful, perfectly seasoned so as not to distract from the quality of the beef. The server Rick was incredibly attentive without being annoying, he was friendly and helpful, obviously a very skilled professional. The restaurant had a stylish comfortable feel, where you could easily converse with friends in a normal tone. The price was very reasonably, especially for such quality offerings and impeccable service. I will certainly back.

Stopped in here for dinner... but was a bit disappointed of the menu. This is not a good place to head to if you are dining solo though. Menu is a bit retro - Oscar is available if you want it on your steak. Wedge salad. A salad and a dinner if you want a veg on the side will be quite pricy, as it’s all additional cost. Then it’s more food than one can consume. So a salad and a soup and an appetiser was what I ordered. The crab cake was fine, not fishy. I was on the mood for blue cheese thus, the wedge salad; was the option there. But as you can see from the picture, the presentation was less than desirable. Even the smear of the remoulade sauce on the crab cake; appears as though somebody knocked a cup of sauce over the side of the plate. The atmosphere was nice enough. Service.. eh... nothing to write home about. The people next to me were ordering up all sorts of diners and accompaniments and I noticed how much more congenial the server was with them. It shouldn’t matter if you are dining alone or with a group though. Courtesy shouldn’t be contingent on the total of the cheque. If I were back at this casino, this wouldn’t be on my list again. Sigh....

This brand new restaurant open in February at the Orleans. It is quite classy and QUIET. Excellent affordable happy hour. Asked one of the patrons about his filet mignon, "Outstanding" was the reply. They don't use a blender so as to not interrupt the ambience. A pleasant respite from the Orleans sea of noise.

We visited on 2/19/2016 for Happy Hour 4-6 pm and our server was Jerry and he was exceptional, he was very polite and he was very knowledgeable from the drinks to the appetizers he was overall excellent and had great customer service skills, we will definitely be coming back and we let our friends know about this place, it is a very relaxing place and the ambience is very nice. Jerry was very friendly and he always came and asked us if everything was good. David the Restaurant Manager came over and asked how everything was we told him everything was superb and we will definitely be back. Both David and Jerry were great nice place to relax and enjoy definitely worth coming back too.

We started in the bar and as a usual sought out Brandon for our drinks. He’s not only a terrific mixologist but he has a great personality. As always we loved our drinks. In the restaurant Alex took care of us, helping us choose a wine and guiding us through the menu. His suggestions were spot on and his attention to detail ensured that everything was prepared as we requested. The onion soup with apple cider was very good and my NY Prime steak was flavorful and done Pittsburgh style (with Alex’s overseeing it). My wife’s pork chop was also done as she requested. After attending a concert we returned to the bar and finished the evening with Brandon making a perfect chocolate Martini for my wife and a Bourbon maple bacon Manhattan for me. A great night that we talked about the next morning. It doesn’t get much better than this.

Adler & Birch is the new steakhouse at the Orleans Casino. This is in the space formerly occupied by Canal, and it is a great improvement. The new restaurant is nice and light and airy, so much nicer than the dark space that was Canal. I like the photos of birches, behind faux windows, that comprise the walls. I like the fireplace, which, if you are seated by it, gives you a look into the bar area. I like the lighting; as I said, bright and airy. There is pleasant 60s and 70s music in the background, at a reasonable level, not intrusive -- not overpowering the conversation. No tablecloths on the tables; glass tops to the tables. The menu is too "foo-foo" for me -- bone marrow? Quinoa? -- I had to google this at the table to see what it is! Few of the sides appealed to me. The mushrooms were good, as were the baked potatoes. My wife insisted on trying the scalloped potatoes, which had blue cheese in them -- what a waste of potatoes! $2 for steak sauces, we did not try them. The mushroom/onion dish was good as a sauce-topping for our steaks. Salt is in a small bowl, you have to sprinkle it with your fingers -- so don't dine with people with bad hygiene, since their fingers will be in the salt bowl. I did not care for the bread. Focaccio squares and some kind of feta bread. Crab cakes, very good. Caesars, good. Onion soup, very good. Braised beef short ribs, "out of this world." Steaks, good. Servers very pleasant. Overall, I enjoyed it enough on the first visit to go a second time. Now, after two visits, I'll be back again!

Wonderful filet mignon. Service at the table wass excellant. Front desk could be a little friendler and attentive. Very nice setting. A great place to treat yourself to a special meal.

What a wonderful addition to the Orleans! Really a major step up, from the design, and atmosphere the goal was clearly to create a "destination" venue. Walk in to the fabulously well appointed bar attended by some of LV's best, Jerry, "Bones" and the rest of the bar staff, each determined that you will have a great time, and you are off and running to a great evening! Very, very good food in a modern and well planned restaurant with booths and tables to suit any group. Food selections are excellent, and they have an absolute lock on the very best scallops in LV: U8 size (yes, U8!) perfectly cooked and seasoned with the perfect sauce as well. But back to the bar! Just talk with he staff, and let them recommend something special, then something else special, and again, and again! Your taste buds will be doing back flips! Best complement I can offer is that Alder & Birch is a perfect replacement for the old Nero's in Caesars. High praise indeed, and well deserved! You'll love it! Jim & Jo

My wife and I had dinner at A & B on our last night in Vegas while staying at The Orleans. We walked into the restaurant around 9:15pm on a Tuesday night and right away noticed how the decor was bright and clean, our hostess very pleasant and servers quite knowledgeable. Wife and I decided to share our meal with each other so we ordered a Caesar Salad ($8.00), 12 oz. Filet Mignon ($35.00), baked potato ($7.00) and the grilled Portobellini Mushrooms as a steak topper ($3.00). Caesar Salad was excellent with a homemade Caesar dressing that was the best I have ever had. We ordered the Filet medium and it actually came out a little under medium but that was OK as it also was very good. The baked potato was extremely large and done just right. I was disappointed in the Mushroom steak topping as it consisted of only two "quarter" size thin mushrooms. I should of spent the extra money and opted for the side order of $7.00 mushrooms instead of the mushroom topping. Overall it was a very good experience and we will definitely return in the future.
Great Steaks
The steaks were perfectly cooked - great early dinner pricing too! My wife loved their salad with Quinoa in it!
