Aldino was highly recommended by the Concierge staff at JW Marriott Hill Country and my girlfriend and I had dinner on 11/12/11 for our first time to celebrate our anniversary. WOW! Dee was our server and she was very friendly and engaging, in a fun bubbly way... I had the Capellini Con Gameri which was heavenly! Perfect portion size as I was content and it left me wanting just a little more. She had the Chicken Marcella and it too was very good. They brought us a very sweet dessert treat at the end, a white puff pastry with strawberries. I was surprised how reasonable their prices are. Excellent entrees in the $15-$22 range. This was a special night for us and we cannot wait to go back. Thank you Aldino Team!

We always enjoy the food and good times with friends when we go there for dinner. Their specials are really good and their regular menu items are good as well. They do an excellent job with fish which leads me to order it often.

My wife and I went dined here for our anniversary dinner. We ran an errand prior and ended up here a bit earlier than we normally would for dinner. Sure glad we did! This allowed us to order the price fixed menu with appetizer, entrée, and dessert. High end Italian food at a very reasonable price.

Consistently delicious food, consistently great service, the owners are usually close by and are very attentive to the food/service being delivered to the guests. The dining area is nicely decorated. this is our go to place when we want a good meal and still feel like we're in the comfort of our own home. Our family has tried about everything on the menu and we love it all. They also are very good about handling any and all special requests when it comes to preparing your meal the way you like it.

We eat here very often, mainly for lunch. Aldino's always has a great food, great salads, great lunch specials, great service and a nice atmosphere. It's our favorite place to eat in Stone Oak. The staff is always friendly and professional. Their house salad dressing is delicious....don't miss this restaurant!

With vegans in the group, we looked at the menu online before coming to the restaurant. Although the menu itself didn’t change, the pricing did! Pricing at the restaurant turned out to be over 30% more than what the website has listed!!! It gets better... when we pointed that out to the staff, they just gave us a very empty “Sorry about that” but kept our check at the 30% higher prices.

I've been here twice. The first experience was decent, but the second dismal. The service was severely lacking, and the food was below average. I'm surprised at the positive reviews. The pasta isn't fresh, and their antipasti is a bizarre combination of items. I'd look elsewhere.

The wait was certainly worth it. My potato encrusted Tilapia was excellent. Don't bring fidgety kids because the wait for the food is lengthy so you can enjoy a great conversation over their good wines. The decor and atmosphere is very relaxing.

Not only was the food delicious, but the restaurant and waitstaff were outstanding. We had several couples from high school meeting here for dinner. Was very nice and comfortable in a separate room.

We go to Aldino's frequently. The atmosphere and service are just great. It is like coming home. We are always greeted warmly. We always request the same server Nete. She make a special place even more special. The food is always well prepared. The salads are just so tasty. Everything is good. I do love their salmon and trout.

Went there to meet up with some business partners. Had a great time Appetizers sausage pizza, calamari, mushroom ravioli with meat balls All very good And a glass is Cabernet Go there good choice

Nice menu fair prices but meal just average. Had the Calamari Fritti for appetizer. The calamari was cooked perfect but the marinara was way too hot (spicy). Had the Pasta Bella Donna for my main and was disappointed that it did not have more flavor. Will go back and try something different on the menu. The room itself was very pleasant. Staff OK.

I went here on the basis of TripAdvisor reviews. It isn't bad, but there are definitely better. The chianti, bread and oil were ok. Pollo alla valdostana and pasta ole were both tasty but chicken and shrimp were both a bit overcooked. I thought the prices were also a bit high.

Creating great expectations, this restaurante is a neighborhood one, Italian, traditional, guest and customers are mainly above 40’s, relaxed and chill. The environment did not encourage me to try, so I went to be sure asking for a capresse salad, wow nice and taste. Check the pictures, need to re-evaluate with additional info.🤣

We ended up at Aldino's for dessert and coffee one evening after we had eaten a horrible dinner at local chain restaurant. I wish we had come here for dinner from the start. I had the Tiramisu and my husband had a chocolate cheesecake type dessert. We both had cappucino as well. All I can say is it was fabulous and the server was so friendly and didn't seem to mind that we were only having dessert. We'll definitley be back for a full meal....can't wait!

Went here for the first time with my wife and we loved it! Nice atmosphere and great staff. We had the half order of calamari which was fantastic and by the way it was more than enough for 2-3 people to split. Wife had the chicken Gorgonzola and i forget the name of my dish but it was the shrimp limone dish. Both plates were excellent. I enjoyed the light lemon wine sauce that came with mine. The only thing I was upset about was that enjoyed my meal so much I didn't leave room for dessert!!! They looked so, so good. Looks like they are all made in house and I wanted to try them all!!! Next time we plan to split and appetizer, split a main dish and dessert. Thanks Aldino's!

My wonderful French wife took me to lunch for my birthday. We both ordered veal and had made the right choice. We have found veal to be a challenge to many restuarants but Aldino is ,in our opinion, the Champ! It was perfectly cooked and served in a light lemony sauce. Pasta was served on the side and was also perfect for the sauce.

My wife and I stopped in here for lunch after doing some shopping in the shopping center. We decided to go after the noon-time rush and arrived about 1:30. We were seated quickly and drink orders were taken. We decided on two lunch specials and were very pleased with the portions and the quality of the food. It was not our first stop there and we have always walked away satisfied.

In a city where the concept of foreign food generally means Mexican food, Aldino's combines unique recipies and deft preparation in an elegant atmosphere to provide for a surprisingly sophisticated dining experience. This is continental food at its best, served under the mindful eyes of owners Fara and Fred, two experienced restaraunteuers who run a tight and consistent kitchen and present their dishes in a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere.

We have gone several times as a family to this well run restaurant. Excellent Italian food with immaculate service. The rolls are to die for, the dipping sauce when combined with balsamic vinegar and cheese are irresistible and never stop coming fresh and hot from kitchen. The ravioli is particularly good and even their lowest priced wine is excellent. This is likely the best Italian restaurant in San Antonio. Don't miss it.

We went on a Saturday night with a party of 12. The restaurant was very busy. We were started with fresh baked hot french bread rolls that were delicious. Water served in Carafe's was luke warm would have been nice if they chilled it. The Cesar salads were good as was the Farfalle da Firenze and Ravioli di Vitello. I substituted the pesto cream for the alfredo sauce, it paired well with the spinach ravioli pasta. Someone else had the lasagna and she about liked her plate. All and all was a good experience.

My in-laws took me and my wife here for New Year's eve dinner. First of all our waiter was very funny and took very good care of us every person at the table had a different meal and every person was very satisfied with the food. Myself I thought for the amount of food that you got they were overpriced other than that the food is delicious.

We’ve tried this place a few times for lunch and remember after every meal why we don’t go more often. The Chicken Marsala and Chicken Piccata were extremely salty. We were both dehydrated for the rest of the day. The pasta was not cooked aldente and the chicken had no color to it so either they sous vide with no additional flavor or they boil the chicken breasts. There are way better Italian restaurants in town.

Our last dinner in SA was here and what a way to end a nice vacation!! The food was delicious, atmosphere was nice and service was great! Highly recommend this place!!

Lasagna and eggplant Parmesan were both delicious! Our first visit; but not our last! Bread was crispy and plentiful!

we've eaten at Aldino many times, and the service and atmosphere are excellent...the granite and draperies make you feel like you are in Italy, and the food finishes off the illusion. The veal ravioli is the most wonderful Italian dish I've ever had, and the lasagne is so yummy! love this place!

Fantastic service (probably the best I've ever had) and great food. The lobster ravioli was excellent.

Nice atmosphere. Friendly service with good food and wine. Enjoyed the halibut special. Other fish, Italian dishes available.

Went on a tuesday night, it was cold outside. Inside, warm, cozy and uncrowded. waitress was great. Tried a bottle of wine, some chianti - delicious. Also tried italian margarita (GREAT) and italian mai tai (good, but not great)

after 4 yrs of dining at Aldino's, sad to say won't be back. One of the best things about dining at Aldino's was the service. Owner, Ed Moghimi, along with waiter (only 1 working, was one other couple in restaurant at the time) had a - we could not care less- attitude. Last yr service was lacking, this year was non existent. I am very sad to say. Went in this evening (4/15/15) to celebrate a special anniversary- what a disappointment!! We won't be back. Some times "service" is the only thing that sets you apart, and keeps you coming back.

Our visit to Aldinos was on a rainy Friday evening and the place was jumping with many families enjoying the atmosphere, the wait staff, and the food. Our meal of Bruschetta, Shrimp followed byTiramasu and a cappucino were very good. The half bottle of wine is a good idea.

Stopped in for business meeting ... Had glass of red wine some very nice appetizers There was a meat ball appetizer that was very good and the fried calamari was excellent

This place is a neighborhood gem. The food is consistently good as is the service. I especially love their happy hour in the bar; sometimes it’s hard to get a table in there as the bar is small, and there seems to be a regular clientele. The grilled salmon is the absolute best!

Heard they had great steaks, I was not impressed. I've had better in San Antonio. Cappy's for example. Not sure we will go back.

Our waiter was engaging, knowledgeable, interesting & very thorough. Our food was exceptional from salad to dessert - delicious cocktails. Definitely a wonderful evening - not one single complaint! We will definitely be back soon.

Been there several times, their food is good and they can make your pasta "al dente" of you ask. Bread is freshly made always warm and delicious!

The meal was very good. I had a fish dish that was excellent. Everyone in our group enjoyed the various meals they had, as well as excellent service.

Aldino's, what a special place to eat. Romantic atmosphere, excellent wait staff, and delicious food. I have tried many of their menu items, and each dish has been mouth-watering. I especially love their scaloppini. Aldino's is a little on the pricy side, but well worth the money.

Great Italian food at reasonable prices. Service was attentive. Not very quiet, but not so loud that it was hard to talk.

My husband and I went to dinner. We waited quite a bit longer than the estimated time we were told. I understand that happens, but when two other couples come in after you and are seated before you, you begin to wonder. I should have known when another couple seated in the waiting area got up and left. Once we were finally seated, the waitress took the wine menu away before we looked at it. She also did not mention any specials. We didn’t realize there were specials until another waiter told the table next to us about them. We waited quite a while for our food. After 25 minutes we asked about our food, and the waitress said two cooks hadn’t shown up that day and there were two 20 top tables. I guess that meant we shouldn’t expect our food any time soon. It took almost 40 minutes for our food to arrive. Once it arrived, it was not good. My eggplant parmigiana was mushy. Both my husband’s and my spaghetti was plain. In all my years of eating Italian food, I’ve never been served completely plain pasta. The table next to us, with a different server, had to ask for bread because it was not served. So clearly the lack of good service was not just our server. We will definitely not be back.

In SA for thanksgiving and needed to get our Italian on! SCORE! Aldino rocked it! Food, quality and service everything and more! Then when the bill came, way less than I would have expected for such an extraordinary meal! We had a lot of special requests, each and every one was met with “of course we can do that”. My kind of place!!!!

We were coming back from an event in New Braunfels and wanted a place to have a glass of wine. We remembered that we had had a wonderful dinner here with friends. What I discovered is a great Happy Hour, from 4 pm to 7 pm, with a special menu of appetizers and drink offerings. There is another appetizer menu that is offered from 4 pm to closing. It has some very interesting items. We were too late for Happy Hour; however, the other menu had a few very good appetizers. What I am not crazy about their red wine list by the glass. There is a list of their own red wine. I tried their Malbec and Cabernet. I had a glass of Joel Glott and ended with a glass of Franciscan. I began with the beef carpaccio, which was delicious. It is served with slightly dressed arugula and slices of a fabulous Parmesan reggiano. I asked the bartender to have the kitchen add capers. They were generous with the capers. That is why I was surprised when I ordered the smoked salmon, I guess they were low on capers for this dish. Although the smoked salmon was delicious, it was draped over an anemic stalk of celery. The plate comes with two slices of toast.I asked for more; the bartender conveniently "forgot" to bring them. The plate had a small, milky spray of dill-flavored what I think might have been cream cheese. I do not like the flavor of dill. I asked for cream cheese. A small container was delivered with two small pieces of cream cheese. My husband ordered a half order of Shrimp Aldino which has a very small amount of Gorgonzola melted into a tarragon cream sauce. He said that it needed something to add some zing. He then asked the bartender if they served meatballs. The bartender said yes and my husband ordered two. It was served with a lovely marinara sauce. My husband also asked for toast. The bartender brought one piece of toast. He asked for more toast and so did I. The toast never came. I cannot believe that they are rationing toast. We ordered the tiramisu. It was delicious and was served with sliced strawberries which had been drizzled with chocolate sauce. The drinks and appetizers ran almost $89 for just the two of us. Perhaps making Happy Hour will bring down the price!

Been eating here for years. Best Italian food hands down. Inexpensive. Classy. Elegant. You feel like you are being wined and dined. The restaurant is beautiful and not too dim. The pastas and lasagna are excellent. You will not be disappointed.

I have eaten at Aldino's when I lived in San Antonio several years ago. I loved it then and couldn't wait to return. It was just as good as always! I made reservations and were late but they seated us right away with no nasty looks or grudges. The wait staff was excellent and gave us the specials and recommendations on dishes based on our likes and dislikes and the bruschetta was delicious.

A gathering of a few work friends for dinner provided a nice evening of Italian cuisine. I started with a Caprese salad (mozzarella cheese & tomatoes) that was delightful. For my entree, I tried the Farfalle Firenze and the pasta was cooked perfectly - and the portion size was just right. This was my second visit and I was not disappointed with the food or the service - however, once the dinner crowd arrives, it gets a bit noisy in the restaurant and makes conversation a bit trying.

There were four of us, my wife ordered the Lamb, it was dry and didn't have flavor, it came with risotto and also was dry. The rest of us had pasta, mine was the best, it was called pasta pescatore, it was spicy and had shrimp, crab and fish. The two other plates were pasta plates but nothing to write home about. The bill was almost $140 with no alcohol. Expensive I would say!!! I feel we didn't get our money's worth.

Beautiful restaurant. Delicious and unique dishes prepared by an excellent chef. Their salmon dish is to die for. Great service and ambience.

Happy hour specials are only honored if you sit in the bar. Very good service. Bar non-well drinks were good. Worst HH French 75 I’ve had. Food was ok. Atmosphere was nice, it’s a tablecloth restaurant which is nice. We ate here/c it was close to our hotel. It was ok.

Aldinos produces well prepared tasty dishes. It has a casual ambience though tablecloths and linen napkins throughout. Service good if not great. Nice seafood dishes. I had sautéed sea trout with a light flavorful sauce (artichoke, mushrooms, nice seasoning). Their bread is very good and served with spiced olive oil. The salads are also nice. The wine list is not great. Similar to the wines on the mid to lower shelves at HEB (grocery store). That said, You can find a passable beverage. Bon apetit

Dined at Aldino’s last Saturday. We both opted for fish: I the trout with mushrooms n artichoke heart; she the halibut special. Both were outstanding, as was the very attentive and professional waitstaff. Excellent noise level and decor.

We have always loved here and with the new menu that will be bring us back more often. We had a really great kale salad a few weeks ago. This time we had a wonderfully grilled shrimp dinner with a side of chicken breast that was tender and juicy. The patio this time of year is always the best place to eat. The service is always outstanding with a great wait staff. We'll be going back again and again.

Met friends here for a weeknight happy hour - good venue. Good time span (4pm-7pm), low noise level, moderate crowd, good drink prices and nice selection of yummy appetizers at reduced price (even tho server tried to steer us to the dinner appetizer menu). Yes - there is a server, who was very attentive and ready to refill drinks and appetizers!

My wife and I had our 45 th anniversary dinner here last night and it was a fantastic experience. We had 7pm reservations and got there a few minutes early and were seated right away. Our server explained since it was our first time here that all food is prepared fresh at the time of ordering and can take a little while to prepare and serve. I had read some reviews about it taking a long time to get food served after ordering. I think this is a plus as I never like prepared food that sits under a heat lamp. For our appetizer we had the Involtini Di Melanzane which was enough for 4 people and absolutely delicious. We order an excellent Super Tuscan wine to go with our meal. For our entrée my wife had the Veal Saltimbocca and I ordered the Seafood Pescatore.. The Veal was fantastic and the masala cream sauce was spot on. My Pescatore was the best I have ever had and the seafood was cooked just right. Both dishes were hot when served and well worth the wait. For dessert we were served a complimentary Tiramisu that was made in house and delicious. Service from our server Barbara was excellent and her suggestions for entrees was spot on. My only slightly negative was they do not have a very extensive wine list but they had at least 2 selections for every type of red wine and it is adequate. For the quality of the food I do not think this restaurant is over priced. We will come back again soon.

I took my son and his husband here for, what a thought would be a nice dinner with a nice atmosphere. We waited well past the 20 minutes we were told. We were seated AWAY from the main dining area that did have tables available for 3/4 people. We were seated to the far left of the bar, where no one else was seated. Our service was extremely poor, we were looked at, whispered about and pointed at by other employees. My son and his husband were EXTREMELY uncomfortable. We had to consistently "motion" to our waiter if we needed anything. The food was only mediocre and pricey. The service was horrible. I asked for the bill and also asked to speak to the manager, a middke aged woman with glasses. I explained my dissatisfaction with our whole experience there and the rudeness displayed to my son, his husband and myself. Her response was "I'm sorry, that makes me want to cry. I have a niece that's gay and lives in CO where it's more accepted." I then responded that she being the manager of a business should be cognizant and treat everyone equal. She replied that she'd tell the owner. I asked then if I could speak with the owner. Her answer was "he's busy." I was in from out of town and wanted to treat my family to a nice evening... this RUINED OUR WHOLE EVENING!! I will never go back, nor do I recommend anyone else to go there. If you don't fit in their "standards" whatever those may be, you'll be treated like lepers!!

This restaurant has the best calamari in San Antonio, I want to say in Texas. I have tried others like Paesanos, Piattis, Joes Crab Shack, etc., and their calamari doesn't come close to Aldinos. Their calamari is fresh and lightly fried. Perfect! They have other appetizers that are very good too. Need to visit them during their happy hour. Great service and a lot of atmosphere. Great for the family or singles.

Place is beautiful. Food is bad. Not really Italian . Pasta overcooked, tomato sauce from a can. Bread was not cooked enough. Avoid if you are looking for real Italian food.

I was a server at Aldino when I was nineteen years old. Fast forward twenty years. My life is much different, but one thing remains the same: I still eat at Aldino every few months. They never skimp on quality, portion size, nor taste. I can count on a delicious meal every time.

This was a great place for a nicer excuse for dinner. I had the cioppino and it was delicious! My wife and I ate for about $80 total and had drinks, entrees and deserts! It was a great value, delicious food and a fantastic atmosphere. Make this a stop when eating out. Highly recommended!

My dad is the kitchen chef at aldions he has his own recipes and an amazing way of making food. Hes opened up resturants in austin florida and in san antonio and one day he hopes to have his own resturant again.. his food is as close to italian as it gets

While our group enjoyed a private dining room for lunch, the three entrees offered included fish, chicken and ravioli, the dish I will discuss. The sauce heads the list of the most curious--some orange, tasteless sauce--poured over two or three very large ravioli stuffed with a green vegetable, perhaps spinach. The only virtue of this dish is that there was a lot of it! Now, please remember that this restaurant has a fine reputation, very attentive wait-staff and good salads!

One of my favorites. Staff is very good, not all but most. The owners are always on-site or at least one of them and they ensure that patrons are happy. The food is always consistently excellent. If you want pizza or pasta it's all good, one of my favs is the Chicken Parmigiana. Atmosphere is very good and there is an outdoor patio.

I did my research on Tripadvisor.com before heading to San Antonio, Texas for our family reunion. I knew that I wanted to dine at one great restaurant in town before leaving this beautiful city. I was not disappointed. Even though my hotel was located near the Riverwalk Downtown, I decided to head North and try Aldino at the Vineyard for lunch instead of one of the many Riverwalk restaurants. I was pleased with the menu and the authentic Italian atmosphere. I had a very pleasing lunch for under $20 not including tip. Please don't think that since the restaurant is highly rated, that it is pricey. It isn't. This Italian restaurant is definitely worth your consideration if you are in San Antonio, Texas for business or pleasure.

Came here for lunch yesterday with a few of my neighbors. They have $10 meals for lunch. You can chose anything from Pasta dishes to fish. I order their Tilapia which came with a vegetable and small side of pasta. Perfect portion and very good. I also ordered their Merlot which was very good but, over priced to me. They charged $9.50 per glass for Blackstone Merlot. You can get a whole bottle at HEB for less than one glass. Other than the over priced wine by the glass. I did enjoy the company and the food.

Food here was good but not fantastic. Prices were a little high for a neighborhood/strip Mall restaurant. Desserts were below average and not fresh. Food was average to above average. Probably would not return because of the large amount of restaurants in the area

Everything is good the place the service the food!!! We have been customers for the last 30 years since they open at central park mall

it is an established restaurant with a loyal following. We had lunch here today and a few things bothered me. The website lists prices that are substantially different from the actual prices on the menu. I mentioned it to the manager in a casual way without demanding anything, but they still charged us the menu prices. They also switched to paper straws that feel just incredibly bad in your mouth so you cant even use them. This trendy nonsense may fly in California, but this is Texas. I had the tilapia special and it was very good. We might go back, but it was certainly not a WOW experience and by now San Antonio has many good alternatives.

This is my favorite Italian restaurant in San Antonio. The atmosphere is pleasant - not as noisy as some others. And the food is delicious. I especially enjoy the veal scaloppini and the house salad is excellent. I've eaten here several times when visiting SA. It's always a pleasure. The service is excellent!

This was our first time at this restaurant. We lived in San Antonio back in the mid to late 90's and this wasn't here. We are in SA for a few days and wanted to try something different so I turned to TripAdvisor and went with Aldino. VERY VERY good. I had a glass of Malbec and my wife had a Belini. Both very good. We split a house dressing salad that was excellent and the mozzarella cheese they served on it was so good we asked for a side of it. Rolls were great too. I ate the 8 oz. Filet with vegetables and added 3 large shrimp. Loved it. My wife had the Cappellini Con Gamberi which was also very good. We rarely get dessert but couldn't resist the lemon pastry (can't remember the name). Also very nice. We finished it all off with a Cappuccino for my wife and a black Sambuca for me (served warm with the 3 coffee beans....) Great evening. Nice place but not too stuffy and the waitress we had was execellent! Highly recommend.

Very dependable, consistently good. Attentive service and good value. I had the lamb shank; also sampled the filet. Both were excellent, as were the salads (light, tasty Caesar dressing). A deservedly popular San Antonio eatery on the far north side.

This is a wonderful restaurant with great atmosphere. We were seated right away, there is plenty of room. The wait staff was excellent, very attentive to our needs, and the food was wonderful. Our meal started with the best hot rolls that were light and not heavy when eaten. Our entrees were all very good and plentiful. I will go back to Aldino again.

Their creme brulee is to die for!

We had the most delightful lunch here with a airforce young woman that I worte to while in Iraq in 2009. They had never eaten her before and loved it. Food and service was great, they gave us space to visit since this was our first time to meet, so gracious, celebrated the up coming birth of baby girl due August 17, just couldn't have been better, the food, the atmosphere, the service, we love to come here.

This is located in NC SA, the people are always happy to see you, the food is hot and delicious, very affordable elegant dining, one of my favorite Italian places to dine! I love the potato crusted Tilapia served with pasta and veggies! My hubby loves the stuffed Ravioli. They have a nice menu selection and have not had anything that I didn't like!

We went for lunch on a Thursday at about 12-45pm. There was no receptionist/greeter when we arrived and so we were left waiting to be taken care of for about 5 minutes. The greeter finally arrived, but in spite of there being several vacant tables, it took another 5 minutes for us to be seated. We had Meatball Ravioli and Chicken Arrabiata. The Ravioli and accompanying sauce was above average. The tomato sauce for the Chicken Arrabiata was too acidic and the dish was below average. Service was slow, with a long gap between the serving of the appetizers and the main courses.

I love to come here for lunch. Lots of choices and very well priced. Service is good and efficient. Especially quick at lunch time. Always a lunch special plus ten entrees for ten dollars. Atmosphere is nice, very pretty place. And food is very good.

Patio is dog friendly, so I go there often! Great service, great food and not at all expensive. Love it! They even bring my dog a bowl and water. :-)

Visited Aldino’s last evening for a holiday dinner with 3 other couples. My wife opted for the grilled trout with mushrooms and artichoke. I followed our servers suggestion and went with the halibut special for the evening. Both were fresh and truly flavorful. We really enjoyed our visit tho the noise level made conversation among a somewhat challenging.

sat outside, some mosquitos. kind of snooty vibe. the eggplant parmagiano was superb. the bread excellent. will return, but will sit inside while mosquitos are still around.

Early dinner in the bar and happy hour at the same time. Nicholas took excellent care of us. My partner ordered the Salmon with veggies, and I had the penne. Everything was excellent. There are so many wonderful restaurants in SA that sometimes we get so busy checking out new places that we neglect older established eateries. Don't neglect this one. Excellent food, wonderful wine selection and professional, courteous service. I'm going back soon.

Great lunch values, tailored for American taste and expectations from an Italian restaurant. This restaurant is wonderful place to visit in the SPRING FOR DINING OUTSIDE. It has lovely garden seating with feeling of the real Italian garden. Food is always fresh, and well presented. Recommend it....

We ate at Aldino's last night and really enjoyed it. We each had salmon (prepared two different ways, both good) and loved it, the salad, and especially the bread and savory olive oil dipping sauce. Our waiter Andrew was very helpful and attentive. It had been a very hot day, but in the evening the patio was cool and comfortable (and much quieter than we'd thought it would be).

Excellent food and service. Though the last time I was there, their 'Lamb chops' entree had been changed and was not up to par in 'Taste', or 'Quantity'! Hope they revive the old preparation technique and amount of meat.

We ordered calamari as a starter. The Calamari where as good (or bad) as a cafeteria would serve. The. We ordered salad which was... A salad (nothing Italian to it) and the chicken piccata (nothing to write home about). For dessert we ordered Creme Brûlée (not very Italian) which was acceptable and Ice cream (only had 1 flavor which is a mixture of flavors) and again nothing to come back to. It is another "Italian Restaurant" that has little to do with Italian Cuisine and Italian Flavors. They serve very basic Italian food with Americanized Flavor. The wine selection is poor. The service is poorly trained (when I asked por Reggiano Parmesan they had NO idea of what I was asking). Skip this one. Not worth your time nor money

My husband and I met friends for dinner Friday night! What a pleasant experience! The service was superb and the food was delicious! Nice wine list without the outragious prices. We shared the salmon dish with an appetizer and a salad. Our waiter was very attentive without being intrusive. Enjoyed being able to visit with each other without loud music. We loved being outside on the patio. This will definitely be our new "go to" Italian resturant. Great date night place...romantic!

If you want to dine at a Five star restaurant and not have to break your budget, then this is the place you need to go. It's just off of 1604 in a very nice area. The place is decorated beautifully and the food is exquisite! I had the "Pescatore" which was two large bowls one served with the freshest linguine and the other bowl was filled with crab claws, shrimp, scallops, mussels and fish. The sauce that it is in is incredible. I ate so well and would highly recommend that you go there when you are down in the San Antonio area. It is well worth it.

The pollo gorgonzola was great . Wine list is very good . Our sever Lalo went out of his way to make sure we where taken care of

The food and service was good, but at noon during the weekday it was so noisy that we couldn't hear ourselves. We will go back, if needed, but it is hard to put up with the noise.

Love the seafood pasta dishes at Aldinos. The owner greets you as you walk in making this busy Utskian restaurant feel like you're being invited for a night in with friends. The bread is great my seafood pasta was delicious as was my husbands Snapper special. The sauce on the calamari could be a little better and I'm sure if we hadn't been seated in a corner our device would have been a little better. However I've been about 5 times have ordered something different everytime and I've loved every dish!

Friends took us out for lunch to a favorite of theirs--Aldino's. We have never been here and we had never heard of it, but we were very impressed on many different levels. The food is excellent, the portions are huge--a tip off should have been that our friends ordered a entree split between them along with a salad. I had the calamari (lightly fried) and a bowl of the incredible lobster bisque. It was enough food for 2 people, but I shared what I could not eat! The regular entees looked incredible and all said they really liked them. I had a taste of my wife's chicken gorgonzola and it was excellent. The service was not the most friendly, but they were super efficient--they really do turn the tables here! The prices were very reasonable. The ambiance is attractive but a little "over done" while still making an attempt as looking Italian. Presentation is decent. Parking is available at the shared strip center lot in front of the restaurant. Getting on and off of 1604 is very easy!

One would call this restaurant a "Neighborhood Gem" as it has always been popular and consistently good, in both the previous location in Central Park Mall and the current one at The Vineyard. When we did not find a Spaghetti with Meat Sauce on the menu recently ( there were many other more sophisticated offerings), the waiter said they could easily make it and add meatballs as well. Also not on the menu but easily obtained were 3 large grilled shrimp added to the Aldino's Salad. A busy happy hour crowd, a long table of celebrants, and some date night people made for a pleasant dining experience.

Lived in San Antonio 10 years ago. Aldino was our favorite restaurant. Had to go back to S.A. on business and spend an evening there. Excellent food with convivial atmosphere. Our favorite then and now.

Good Parking ! Nice restaurant .. Clean, well run place Lunch is a fair price with a nice meal Everything seems good

Oh.. If I could give a negative 10, it would still not be enough to describe the unbelievable subpar quality of food we ate at this so called "best Italian food restaurant in San Antonio" I would not feed this food to a stray cat in an alley. We ordered 3 distinct dishes and an appetizer to see how the various dishes would be served, their quality and appearance. The fried calamari appetizer was passable, but the chicken and mushroom risotto, the penne vodka with fennel sausage and peas and the margherita pizza where right at the same level of olive garden quality, with double the price tag. Risotto is NOT supposed to be soupy, and arborio rice must be used. BOTH INGREDIENTS a fail. The penne vodka with fennel sausage and peas had an overwhelmingly fennel flavor that turned us off from enjoying any portion of it. The margherita pizza was cooked on a pre-made dough (pre-made!!!!!! We are talking airplane grade food now) and questionable (at best) mozzarella cheese..... Then a plopped slice of crappy fresh tomato on each slice.... No-no-no-👎 . My recommendation: you can get better quality and flavorful Italian food from Johnny Carinos at half the price. Very disappointed. The only good thing was that the assistant manager offered to give us a discount, since 3/4 of each dish was still left over in the plates, as we refused to eat it. So kudos for that attempt.

Aldinos had a heck of a deal with Restaurant Week and half price wine bottles. We were there to celebrate two girlfriend birthdays. I had the grilled salmon and a house salad; my friend chose the restaurant week salmon and crab special. Both were excellent! The tiramisu on the special menu was perfection, and I was given a complimentary slice of cheese cake for my birthday. This place is a gem because the service is always wonderful and the food consistently excellent, and all for a reasonable price. Oh, and they have a nice wine list that is not over priced and an incredible deal when half price.

A bit skeptical about this place before getting in, but the experience resulted in a great evening! The ambiance is very nice, and so is the food. Great option for Italian food in San Antonio. They have an interesting pesto sauce and also the pizza is delicious. Very good option is you are around the area.

Went here for dinner tonight to celebrate a special birthday. Fine dining food with terrible service. Waitress poured our riesling, then left it on the table. We had to request it be put on ice. Next, I ordered a salad to be served with my entree and never received it. Another guest had her entree arrive when everyone else was finished eating. I went to the bar to get my son a refill on his soda. Finally, the server stated that dessert would be on the house. Then, when the bill appeared, we were charged for the desserts. The "manager" then argued with my sister and basically called her a liar and the the server would not say that. Horrible experience.

It might be the wine talking but I just came straight home after enjoying my first visit to Aldino's at the Vineyard and wrote this review. I was completely delighted with the experience from start to finish. When I and my guest arrived we initially requested to sit outside when asked by the maitre'd our preference. We thought differently when considering the temperature outside and also the traffic noise from Blanco and Loop 1604. We came inside and asked for a new table and were met with concern by the maitre'd. Was there something wrong, he asked. We assured him that we just changed our minds and there was no fuss and we were given table straight away. The service was very attentive, the complimentary bread was delicious and warm, fresh out of the oven. I ordered pasta with grilled chicken. My guest ordered the lasagne. Our meal was accompanied by delicious salads and a bottle of th Liberty School Cabernet (which we favor, but is not always available). The menu selections are all appealing, it was hard to decide. The lasagne was one of the best we've tasted, the pasta was very good, perfect size portion, maybe a tad salty, but still very good. I want very much to go back sometime soom, maybe next weekend. The dining room ambiance is truly transporting.

This is conveniently located off the 1604 access road at Blanco Rd. in The Vineyard Shopping Center. There is plenty of parking in the large lot. A group met here for lunch during the week. We called first to make reservations and the table was ready when we arrived. This is an upscale Italian restaurant and they do have a lunch selection of about several entrees at $14 a plate. They also have a good selection of wines starting at $8 a glass and can also get a half bottle or whole bottle. We all ordered the same item, Chicken Picatta which was a small grilled chicken breast topped with capers, mushrooms and a cream sauce. It was served with a small bowl of angel hair pasta. It was delicious but for the price, it was a small portion but it was "lunch". There did serve one roll each before the meal but didn't offer any more for the meal. They had a water carafe on the table and kept the waters filled. The service was very good and the waiter was professional and prompt. The wait for the food was adequate. This place got busy fast for lunch and then waned off about 1:30. The staff was quickly clearing tables and resetting for a later crowd. There is a full bar with stool seating along with table seating in two areas of the restaurant. This is a nice "special" occasion place. The noise level was higher at the prime lunch time.

I was in town for work, alone, and wanted an Italian meal while I enjoyed a book. I had the Farfalle Firenze, it was delicious ( and enough to take half of it to go) and a side house salad. The server, Kurt, gave impeccable service. He was attentive without being intrusive, obviously paying attention to the fact I was alone with a book. I imagine he would have been just as wonderful with a large group. The bread is crusty on the outside and soft on the inside, perfect. Loved the ambience and decor as well. What a wonderful meal at the end of a ling work day. I will definitely be back.

Enjoyable atmosphere and terriffic food. Affordable prices and proximity to home make it an absolute gem. We had a wonderful brunch and will definitely be back again.

From the food to the wine to the people...we love this place! It's a great place for lunch or Happy Hour or dinner. Happy Hour offers both food and drink specials and a bartender that can shake a perfect martini. At dinner, we often ask for our favorite waiter, who always remembers our favorite wine and the last thing we ordered. Who could ask for more? Oh....and the food is consistently awesome.

Netta is a wonderful Server and a True Character!! She enhanced our Table of Four!! Food is always of High Quality and Served Hot!! Everybody in our Foursome was very pleased with their diverse Entrees. The Bread is very Special!! We also love Aldo's near the Medical Center, which is owned by the same Brothers.

Mouthwatering menu, wonderful staff, delightful atmosphere all speak to you as you enter this establishment. I have dined here on numerous occasions and never been disappointed. The food is prepared with a level of expertise and excellence that make Italian melt in your mouth awesome! The staff is friendly, professional and always there with whatever you need. The menu has a wide variety of options to make any dining experience wonderful and the desserts are amazing! Enjoy a wonderful time dining at this establishment!

We enjoyed lunch here last week and everything was delightful. Service by Candy - impeccable! Owner - Fara was very pleasant and made sure our first visit went well. Food was served promptly and very hot (oven hot) which was great. Husband ate every last bite of the trout special and the chicken picatta w mushrooms was heavenly. Tiramisu made in house was spot on. We will return for sure!

As restaurants go in San Antonio go Aldino’s was surprisingly average to good. After spending the weekend dining in Chicago I was expecting average at best and got what I expected. The atmosphere was lacking, not too crowded, and didn’t have the “noise” a typical Italian restaurant has. Menu options were decent, very limited with the specials of the day. I had the lasagna which was decent. Others had spaghetti, pork chops and fettuccini all of which were average. The highlight of the evening was the service. Well above average. Enjoy!

Mondays and Tuesdays this place advertises 1/2 price wine with dinner. What is not clear is that it only applies if you order a whole bottle. It does not apply to wine by the glass. The menu also list three course dinners for $22- but beware of this, read the fine prints it is only good till 6:30 so if you order anything from that list they will still charge you $22- less the salad or soup and less dessert. The server does not explain this to you until you get your bill. Overall, this establishment can do better in explaining their specials and their menu.

This is an excellent restaurant, the home made foods, the service, location all a plus. We gave it a second chance, the first time we went was a Friday night and several very very very loud parties going on. We couldn't even hear the waiter, since my husband wears hearing aids just miserable so we left. Our son and daughter in law love this place so we tried again and were so glad that we did. Will go back for sure just pick our time. yummy.........

Two couples for dinner and drinks. Food was OK, but not special. The waiter was not bad, but would have been better if he had listened more, and talked less. I had the scallops special, which had a very lackluster presentation. My wife’s shrimp scampi was also underwhelming!

They have a nice, varied menu. Extra points for presentation of every dish. They also have reasonably priced lunch specials including a three-courseunch for $15 per person. Good service, nice ambiance, although it can get fairly loud. Good bar menu.

One of the best Italian restaurants I’ve ever eaten at. I love good Italian food. My favorite! Great wine selection, service, food, full bar and ambiance. 5 Star.

Went there for our anniversary dinner but won't be going back for any other special event. Service was fair, could have used a little more attention since it appeared we were only one of two tables our server had at the time. Lasagna Al Forno was priced above the quality provided but at least the portion was large. Special of the Night Pork Shank priced at $28 was IMHO way over priced.

Upscale Fine Dining in San Antonio- If you like Aldo's you will love this as Aldo is one of the owners!! Huge menu full of culinary temptations created by masters......Don't forget to pick up a bottle of salad dressing before heading out. A true treasure of the SA area. Easily one of the top restaurants I have visited. The Filetto is one of the best menu items as is any of the gorgeous pasta dishes all wrapped up in a beautiful old world inspired space. A dining experience you will never forget!!

Excellent food & wines, great staff and beautiful location for a real tuscan atmosphere. What else? Consigliatissimo

Really nice place to take a special person for the first date. Food was delicious, waitstaff was attentive, tables were at a nice distance from each other so that you could carry on a conversation and not worry that the table next to yours could hear it. Shrimp limone was superb and the cheese platter appetizer was enough for a meal! House chianti was perfect.

Good food, can't stand the clientele. Marginal waitstaff.

Was expecting a great overall experience based on prior reviews but I would say "eh". I know there are much better places to eat Italian in SA. The decor is very outdated and so are it's patrons. No one under 30 here! I had the penne alla vodka which was very good but my mom had the eggplant parmigiana and she sent it back- too mushy! Service was fantastic! At least they have that. Overall I would say go for lunch if they have a special but otherwise pass it by.

We went here as a business meeting on valentines day which was entertaining to say the least. The wine selection is very good and the specials were great. The food is a bit pricey and portions small. Dont get me wrong they are very delicious. The service was excellent and we will definitely go back there again.

Dinner at this white table cloth fine dining experience was incredible! The tuscan filet mignon was perfect and was accompanied by roasted potatoes and spinach. My mom says the lasaguna was the best she's ever had and the waiter was nice enough to serve her an unpublished "childs portion" as she does not eat much. They feature daily specials such as fresh fish and pasta dishes and the place was filled to the max with local patrons who obviously dine here often. Everyone seems to know the waiters and other local friends in this friendly, and not expensive fine dining restaurant. Highly recommended~

The tables are now too close to each other to accommodate more patrons thus making it hard to have a conversation. Food is a little heavy on the salt so if one is in a low sodium diet you need to alert the waiter right away. Help is not knowledgeable about what they do have and not have in their menu.

Hubby and I had lunch here today, we both got the Mediterranean salads with Shrimp. It was good, not anything outstanding, but the house dressing was very nice. The fresh (right out of the oven) was delicious with the rosemary olive oil. Excellent service, nice location, we will go back for sure!

We visited here after our grandson's basketball practice on a cold Saturday PM. We were greeted warmly and escorted to a nice table in back. They have a kids menu here and my grandkids selected their spaghetti with meat sauce. The kids pricing is reasonable. Our server was a friendly and efficient guy named Christian. He moved fast and paid attention. My BW chose the Gorgonzola chicken. This was a tasty and creamy dish with mushrooms and sundried tomatoes. The rolls were good and he served olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and chopped garlic. This was yummy. The pasta carbonara was very tasty. The flavor and texture were perfect. This dish was outstanding. It's good to find a tasty Italian eatery outside 1604.

My wife and I go to a nice eatery at least once a week and Aldino,s is the one we keep coming back to time and again. We've tried nearly all the Italian themed restaurants in San Antonio and rate this one tops. Food and Service are consistently way above average and at a reasonable price.

Sitting on the patio, wine in hand, fine cigar and live music venue cannot be beat. Add an evening of better than average weather (no kids) and fine food offerings and you have the makings of a wonderful evening with your wife or best companion. Staff are always nice and accommodating (can be a bit busy and overloaded at times so be patient). Aldino's is not really a place to be in a hurry but rather enjoyed at leisure. Don't miss the Lamb Shank Special or any of the really tasty seafood dishes.

From the Mimosas to the eggs Benedict and the petite filet, our meal was a feast for the eyes and mouths. We went after church on Sunday without a reservation and were greeted by friendly staff and were seated immediately. Our waiter was professional and friendly, explaining the specials in detail. The service was well-timed with the appetizers, main course, dessert and drinks delivered with a smile and a genuine querry of anything else? We have dined there in the evening also and would recommend reservations.

I keep going back for more because I love their food but the service at the bar is so inadequate. Would it be too much to ask for them to smile, or better yet to be attentive and actually wait on you? Several times after a long day I've stopped in to what I would love to make my local watering hole. Each visit I am hopeful that someone at the bar will rush to greet me with a smile and take my order. I guess it's just not going to happen. I like this place a lot, their Kale Ceasar salad is to die for but to sit alone at the bar and expect friendliness or even mediocre service just hasn't happened for me. Alas, maybe one more time will be the charm.

The easiest and cheapest way to make a dish tasty is adding salt as most of cooks would say. They follow this in Aldino. If you like salt this is the place for you. If you are watching your sodium then stay away from this place. The house bread was the only thing that was served that was not heavy on salt.

After a funeral, 25-30 of us came to Aldino’s. They had our tables all set up when we arrived. First of all, what a beautiful atmosphere! The rolls and dipping oil that they serve before the meal are so delicious. I had ravioli, I cant remember the name but it had veal stuffing and a basil cream sauce. I really enjoyed it. The person next to me had a gorgeous fish dish, sea bass perhaps? It was a beautiful plate. I know we all enjoyed our food and the service was great. Aldino’s would be a wonderful date place, great for special family dinners and for business as well.

I met a couple friends for happy hour, and discovered that on Tuesdays it's super busy because it's happy hour all night! The wines are good, and we really enjoyed the flatbread. Go early because seating is at a premium.

We've been going to Aldino's for 4 years and they have always served great food and excellent service at a reasonable price. And, yes, their calamari is to die for! They will try to accommodate any special requests and always make us feel very welcomed. They are far better than Milano's yet they're not rated as high? Check it out and compare for yourself - we need to praise restaurants that truly deserve it!

This is a very good restaurant that has fairly authentic Italian; but, more important than just food quality is consistency. This Aldino's has in abundance. We've been going there since the first night they opened (no kidding - like 7 years, I think) and the consistency is amazing. I think they may have the best Filet steak and NY Strip (Bistecca) for the price. I'm also a big fan of the braised lamb shank. Of course there are pastas - Cappelini Gamberi (angel hair with shrimp in an alfredo sauce) is a favorite, although I always substitute fettuccine - the thicker pasta works better with the alfredo sauce. Penne alla Vodka is another favorite. I also like their individual size pizzas - thin crust style, not Chicago, not NY. One of the best things about the restaurant is that the owners are THERE every night and every lunch making sure things are working. This isn't some "Celebrity Chef" place where all that's there is the name. The wait staff and the owners make sure they pay attention to what's going on and they also make sure that if you've been there a few times you're remembered and treated as a real guest almost family. I like that. I should mention that the room is well designed with beautiful frescoes on the walls and ceiling that - literally - duplicate portions of the Sistine Chapel in Rome.

We eat here at least once a week. The food is always, good, fresh, and consistent. We prefer to sit at the bar and get the great service from Angel, Carlos, and Zag. The special fish each night is superb. Steaks very good. Fettuccini Alfredo is best we have ever had.

Met some friends for lunch on a Saturday. The rolls are to die for. Yummy! Salad was fresh. Pasta was good. They have brunch on Sundays and they have specials for lunch. Big restaurant space. Nice bar area. Free parking.

This is the nicest place located in the Vineyard. The food is consistently good. They have a daily happy hour with $5 house wine and appetizer specials. The house chianti is very good. My friend and I ordered food off the regular menu. My ravioli was wonderful, and enough to take home for a second meal. You can add a side salad for $3 and it was fresh and delicious. My friend had the Mediterranean salad with grilled salmon. I had a taste, and yum! A gem of a restaurant.

Only visited this location for lunch a couple times & decided to take husband there for dinner since it's close & was delicious. Our experience as we entered & got a space on list (no reservation) it was a bit weird but we took a seat at bar to wait. It got so much better as we were taken to a great table, given amazing service & so enjoyed our food we took dessert home! Definitely recommend but be patient or make a reservation!

Looks nice, but as stated in other reviews, bad service. Not greeted, sat at the bar and the wine menu is poorly lauded out with zero descriptions and the bartender had very little knowledge. Had to flag them down to place an order. Second female bartender was more concerned with her friends seated behind us and never took our order. Had to flag down the “owner” to get water, but he just sent over a waitress that was nice, but so so. Food was ok!!! They really wanted us to leave because they wanted to close early, so we quickly case out and left!! Too bad

Aldinos has great fish and other dishes. I love their salads and they have tasty desserts. I have only been there for lunch and especially appreciate the fact you can actually carry on a conversation in the restaurant.

I work close by and order from the lunch menu about once a month. The price is good and so is the portion, we usually have enough to save for later. The bar area is nice for a few drinks as well. Ed is always greeting his customers with a smile.

Surprised this restaurant was located in a strip center and off the beaten path on the Loop, but well worth the trip. We enjoyed the food and service immensely.

My husband and I dine here on a monthly basis and the service and food are always to notch! We have never had a negative experience from the seating hostess to the bussers, it is top notch! Our most favorite dining experience in SA!

I have been going to Aldino for 20 years. I have turned many people onto it, always raving about the food and service. Those people turned other people into it. It has become the go-to place for date nights and special occasions for my entire extended family, including in laws. That ends tonight. This isn't the first bad experience we've had at Aldino over the past couple of years. However, we kept coming back, because it was so good and consistent for so many years. When we were less than impressed, we'd assume it was an off night or that we had ordered the wrong things. Tonight was the breaking point. Every person in our party of six was unimpressed with their meal. The food was bland and unappetizing. The service was also appalling (also not a first, but more noticeable than ever). The server was not friendly. He did not tell us about the specials until we asked, and then his description was minimal. He did not ask if we wanted salads. He did not bring pasta spoons for our meals. He did not offer Parmesan. He did not offer pepper. He did not ask if we wanted another bottle of wine. He did not ask if we wanted more bread. He did not ask if we wanted more oil. He did not clear our plates, when it was obvious we were finished. Once we insisted he clear our plates, he did not ask if we wanted the check, until we requested it. Every aspect of this experience was a disappointment. I can see now that what I wrote off as off-nights, where we'd ordered the wrong things, in the past, were actually signs of the slow decline.

Only visited this location for lunch a couple of times & decided to take husband there for dinner since it's close & was delicious. Our experience as we entered & got a space on list (no reservation) was a bit weird but we took a seat at the bar to wait. It got so much better as we were taken to a great table, given amazing service & so enjoyed our food we took dessert home! Definitely recommend but be patient or make a reservation!

Wonderful server, Halibut special was excellent, with Asparagus and Spinach, angel hair pasta , garlic butter . Server recommended Lamb Shank to my husband, tender, flavorful, and delicious. We will return. Hot crusty rolls with seasoned olive oil.

We had driven by several times and remembered the good meals we had when they were located in Cental Park Mall. After dining there it is apparent that more than just the location has changed. The service was terrible, beginning with the Host and ending with the food carriers. The Waiter needs to look for another job since it is obvious that he does not like or know how to service his clients. The food is over priced and mediocre in taste. The Wine list is very very very over priced. Defintely will not return there are many other better Italian restaurants in town.

Very good menu with great options even for vegetarians. Food is tasty, prepared with fresh ingredients and decently presented. Have been there several times through the years and never have been disappointed. Very nice atmosphere, not too loud, well decorated. Not another cookie cutter kind of restaurant.

I enjoy this restaurant and take family or business associates once or twice a year. The food is consistently good. Wait staff is attentive. Prices are above average. The main negative thing is the prolonged waiting time between placing the food order and its arrival time to the table. This waiting time is usually 20-30 minutes and is a management issue.

Today we are out in Stone Oak and making preparations to move this next week. I am hungry and so we decided on this little gem of an Italian place and it is wonderful. Noon prices for lunch are reasonable and priced right for a restaurant of this caliber. I had the Linguine Shrimp Scampi and it was marvelous. The sauce was just right and the shrimp was cook just right as well as the pasta. The bread had an aroma that took me back to my time in the Mediterrian when I was touring with Uncle Sam and then when bob and I toured in 1974. She had the tour of Italy and it looked great. This is a place I would recommend for a date night that will not break the bank and the interier was a welcome sight with soft Italian music in the background. I give two thumbs up for a visit.

I met a friend at Aldino's for lunch and was expecting a nice restaurant but this was an exceptional restaurant. It is located in a shopping center on the corner of Blanco and 1604. My first thought was that this was going to be a very expensive lunch even with a lunch special. The lunch specials had about 7 or 8 items listed and were very affordable at 9.99 each. I ordered thinking that it must be a teeny portion. I ordered a combination platter which consisted of chicken parmesan, pasta with marinara sauce and spinach cannelloni with an Alfredo sauce. It was absolutely delicious, and the temperature was hot. Bread was served with the meal but I did not eat any of it. I wanted to be sure to save my appetite for the entree. I could not even finish my lunch. It was a very generous portion. Atmosphere is very elegant...you feel like you are on vacation in a very expensive restaurant. I will be retuning soon with my husband for dinner and wine!

Dinner started with wine. Pescatore was good and the chicken Alfredo was delicious. Friends loved the ravioli.

Not the best Italian I've had but it does it well enough. Nothing will blow you away about the place. The decor is nice, the food is good, and the service is enough to get you through the meal. All of it makes you feel like it was enough to warrant eating here but not enough to rave about it after you've left.
Soup for an entree
The entree which I ordered recently at Aldino's (a penne with mushroom and vegetables) was absolutely horrible. The food tasted as though it were served right out of a can. It was also very salty, watery and not hot or even warmed enough. The Pasta Primavera was massively over sauced (a white cheese sauce that was cold and very thick) as to make the dish nearly inedible. We chose not to complain as we ate at the bar having been served by an abrupt and un personable bartender. Why push one's luck. Overall, this was a disaster of an experience.
