Wow! Tucked in a neighborhood. So cute & lovely. That's just outside. Now food - love love love. Shared a albacore tuna - simple but done properly... Green tea pomegranate - refreshing, bacon scone - no explaining necessary - new fave

Were in our 30's and love this coffee shop. This is local coffee shop meets artsy hipster. They try a bit too hard, I was there when the manager or owner was there and he asked us to Instagram our coffee. It feels way busier that a small town coffee shop, we had just been in Toronto and you didn't care if your shirt was on backwards, bc you were just getting your morning fix, and can barely hold a conversation yet because you clearly need coffee!!. This place, you feel that there is a blogger in every chair, and the toothpaste on your face will not go un noticed.. Just look in the mirror before you go in. :) and wear your skinny jeans. They have good food, the granola is great. Don't get the whole wheat chocolate croissant , you think your going for a healthy option and its just to worth it. Coffee is awesome, and overall great! Staff is helpful, place is clean! But First, Coffee xx

Just off of Melrose, this coffee shop is a nice stop. You step downstairs for your drink and food and from there can go upstairs or outside to enjoy it.

Cute coffee shop which does a great flat white. We visited a couple of times, its a relaxing spot to sit outside and chill for an hour or so. It was full of hipsters and beautiful people but despite this they were very tolerant of our kids and everyone was very friendly

Great coffee drinks & yummy pastries. Perfect for hangs with a friend or a solo brainstorming/study sesh! (also very 'instagrammable')

Our visit to Alfred's Coffee, nestled beside Glossier on Melrose, was a delightful experience. Opting for their signature pink matcha, we were treated to a refreshing and Instagram-worthy beverage. The vibrant pink hue of the matcha was as eye-catching as it was delicious, offering a unique twist on the classic green variety. Sipping on this trendy treat amidst the bustling Melrose scene was the perfect way to recharge and indulge in a bit of West Coast charm. Alfred's Coffee offers more than just great drinks; it's a trendy hotspot where style meets substance, making it a must-visit destination for any visit to Melrose.

The staff are friendly and the drinks range from $4-$10. I got a cappuccino and wasn't offered a variety of beans, however it was really well made and the foam on top lasted. There is accessible WiFi, however it does dip in and out. A few people comment on the fact that there were not many charging outlets available (apparently one near the counter), but this does not stop the crowds using the spot for working on Laptops etc. There is both indoor and outdoor meetings. They also serve sandwiches and health drinks.

We came here a few days ago on Sunday in the evening, it was pretty busy but the line was fast enough. Interior is cute and Instagrammable. Unfortunately, it's too small and no place to sit so we had to stand up outside. 3 of us ordered #10DollarLatte was Mehhh none of us liked it and totally not worth $10. Regular latte was xoxo. Service??? Cashier was grumpy and worst part was the barista..she was very rude and looked unhappy working there. I understand it was busy but that's not an excuse to act like that. Urth Caffe is super busy too but the employees are always friendly.

Looked up best coffee near me and this place popped up. What a cool little place. Very good vibe and lots of energy. Liked my coffee a lot and the coconut water in an actual coconut was pretty cool too!

Really worth a trip to go to either this location or the Silver Lake one. The coffee is fantastic, the staff are friendly and each location has a unique vibe.

Alfred is a typical Apple-users place. We only saw iPads, MacBooks and iPhones. The service was okay, the atmosphere relaxed and the products trendy. It's worth a visit.

I like their espresso. Busy place nice ambiance. Very small but I guess it doesn't matter as most coffe is to go. Their wife wasn't great.

I enjoy a croissant. An almond croissant isn't my favorite... Until I had one from Alfred. Wow. Delicious. The almonds were toasted. Not overly sweet filling. Really amazing. Went back the next day. Yum.

Nice sandwiches and lovely coffee.A cozy place to hang out .. nice staff and great coffee.. recommended for friends and chill out .

It was 2 mornings before yoga and needed my matcha latte... and a bite which I shared with my bff. The food is from cafe gratitude or macrobiotic Mcafe... it's the best cafe on Melrose place, great place to hang out! Wonderful cups to buy for home too!

If you're looking for fantastic coffee, I highly recommend this place. The coffee is exactly what I would get in Australia! There is indoor and outdoor seating and the location in West Hollywood is perfect!

Stopped in while in the area for a conference. Ordered their "world famous" vanilla latte and I was not disappointed. Our visit was few days after the passing of Kobe Bryant and as we left we saw a couple of artists begin to paint a mural of Kobe and his daughter on the side of the building. It was a great experience with both the coffee and the atmosphere, I really hope we get to see the finished mural sometime.

My Airbnb host recommended this cafe and she was right - I loved it! Great atmosphere, amazing Capuccino! Will go back tomorrow.

We got the iced latte and the rose flavored iced coffee. They were both good. They have a lot of innovative drink choices for both the coffee and non-coffee drinker.

This was not my first trip to America. Therefore, I had already mentally prepared myself for below average coffee (or going without altogether). My sister had come across Alfred through social networking. It was conveniently located next to a few boutiques we wished to visit. Although we only had 48 hours in LA, we were adamant we were going to get ‘good real’ coffee. Alfred hit the spot. It was so good, we went back the next day and brought our Mum and family friend. To see their eyes light up at decent coffee was priceless.

A coffee snob and fiend, I was so relieved to find Alfreds. Good quality coffee, milk and reasonable price. It's quite popular too with the locals

Located on a short, trendy stretch of Melrose, this is small, trendy coffee shop. Good coffee, packaged foods and bottled drinks, all served in a very attractive venue. Every corner here can or will appear on Instagram at some point--so inviting! The prices are a bit aggressive for the food, but given the area and decor, not a total shocker. Wear your most casual yet expensive exercise wear and/or breezy California tops and floppy hats and you will fit in here just fine.

Cute instagram ops here but the coffee wasn't the best I've had and it was pretty crowded so it's hard to find a seat. The scene is very hip, young and fashionable. Probably wouldn't come back and I'd only recommend a friend to go here who was super obsessed with getting the perfect instagram picture. For anyone else? Pass.

This little cafe is a great place for Aussies visiting the area who are looking for great coffee and pastries. Very relaxing and a great location away from the hustle and bustle that is LA.

Looks nice on the outside, place is rather expensive though. Drip coffee tastes like yesterday’s and no bathroom.

One of the great coffee places in Hollywood using Stumpjump coffee. Perfectly delivered, right temperature and great service. Has a small amount of treats, muffins to go with your coffee. But a hell of a lot better than Urth Cafe !!

This place is was super busy (and I’ve read it always is) but the coffee was great and the shop itself is adorable. I’d recommend a stop here while in LA :)

If you think you're a "hipster" or can't resist "hipster" coffee joints, Alfred's is a "must see" stop if you're shopping on Melrose Avenue or nearby at the Farmer's Market/Grove. As you can imagine, this place is popular and busy. Alfred Coffee is all about the aesthetics, so you can be sure that your coffee drink is "cute" and artistic. Save storage on your phone for pics! If you love Stumptown Coffee, this place will not disappoint you. This location is really busy and street parking is difficult to find.

Who thought that coffee could be an experience. Nie to get away from the chains and have delectable coffee.

Pictures of wall murals led me to this place. It's located on an alley off Melrose. Cappuccino was so strong tasted like Espresso shot. Metered parking only. Staff were friendly and were helpful taking photos of me with their famous wall murals. This is one location of the popular bleeding hearts art. Early morning is the best time to get your photo souvenirs.

Either just for a coffee to go or to stay for a while, Alfred’s is becoming an institution in LA and the one on Melrose is a favorite stop while shopping in the area. Have to say that some of the things that they take from the menu from time to time are missed like the cornetto chocolat cup that on could sip your coffee on. But the chagachino and the chocolat matcha croissants - that you can buy in the nearby Alfred’s Tea room - are a must try. The design, vibe are all amazing and if it keeps like this (not growing to much and giving focus on the coffee and the coffee experience) it will be always my coffee spot while in LA

Popped into Alfred’s for their famed coffee, decor looked great for chilling, sitting down with a friend or just watching the world go by. Staff were really friendly as well. That said all i had was a latte which surprisingly bland & even bitter. Judging by the reviews & crowd perhaps mine just happened to miss the mark.

Albeit on the "poor" side of West Hollywood, this cafe is busy at week-ends with very hip people. You might have to queue a little on those days, but if you are lucky you could enjoy your preferred drinks on their small patio in the street. There is free wifi and a good range of foods and drinks.

We ventured to Melrose to try Alfred Coffee and we were not disappointed. We all enjoyed our coffee/tea. In fact we all wished we could go back again. Another stop on our next So Cal trip!

Alfred's is a quaint coffee shop and tea room in a quiet area just off Melrose Avenue. It has a unique character to it, and offers a wide variety of coffees and teas, which are all delicious.

- Food: We split a breakfast burrito w/ chicken, tater tots, avocado to go with our coffee. Tasty, but, small. - Service: SLOW. Either not enough people actually working to take care of the customers or they need to take some lessons from Starbucks. People very friendly behind the counter. - Atmosphere. A lot of "beautiful people" out wanting to make sure they're seen combined with a bad music mix really gives what could be a cool little place a bad flavor. However, if you can get a table outside on one of the typical beautiful mornings and its a great spot to enjoy your so-so coffee. Hate to say it...Starbucks is faster, coffee's better or just brew your own. It isn't a bad spot, but, just know what you're in for.

Stopped here for a couple of hours one morning while in the area. Didn't realize this street was such an upscale enclave when I sought out this place. Alfred serves Stumptown Coffee, one of my favorite roasters and the java was predictably awesome. The cafe itself is quite nice. The clientele is an odd mix of primarily women shopping at the nearby luxury boutiques, un/under-employed actors (this is LA!) and other normals. The crowd is not quite as fancy as it seems at first blush so don't be intimidated, if that is a concern, and the prices are reasonable for what you get. The staff was especially friendly and efficient. Definitely worth stopping in if you're in this corner of LA.

I'm a sucker for "vibey" coffee shops. This one is the cherry on top of the coffee shop cake. Lovely place. SPECTACULAR coffee and other things to nibble on. A bit pricey but it's also become a very hip place so that's kind of expected. Love this place! I hope San Diego gets one of these one day!

The wait is over! I can't tell you how long I have had Alfred's Coffee bookmarked on Yelp! My best friend and I do these random road trips to LA from Vegas all the time and occasionally like to pick out quite alternatives to like per say Starbucks. I heard so much about this place from her because of some show she saw it on. This past weekend we had the pleasure of visiting and it was pretty awesome! The parking set up is a bit nonexistent so we had to end up parking down one of the residential streets maybe like a half a block. The set up is cute! When we first walked inside it was packed and I thought it was going to be a line but it wasn't! Just turns out this place is poppin on the weekends and especially in the afternoon. Walking in you cant help but notice all of the cool artwork and pictures! I thought it was so cool how they had all these different catch phrases and slogans painted on the walls! The "BUT FIRST COFFEE" is the signature punch line for this place and it's literally how I feel everyday before starting work! The downstairs is where the magic happens or should I say where the coffee is being served up! The set up of the whole operation is pretty neat! The whole vibe here is super chill and the music was on point! I caught my self ready to twerk a lil sumthin but had to remember where i was lol they wasn't ready in Beverly Hills baby! But I'll digress haha! One of the many things that I really enjoyed about this place was that the prices are reasonable! You hear something is located in Beverly Grove/Beverly Hills and automatically expect to pay a fortune! That too turned out not to be the case so I was like YAAAASSSS! The nitro coffee was my choice on this visit being that I heard it was pretty popular! I even asked the cashier about it and he said it was one of his favorites! I added in some hazelnut just to make sure I had some sort of taste and it was a good call! This coffee is STRONG! My best friend ended up ordering one of the chai tea latte's and it too was amazing! We have now added Alfred's to the "I MUST visit again when in LA" list that's for sure!

Only had a soy cappuccino there, it wasn't the best ! Snobby atmosphere. Pleasantly situated though.

Lovely for coffee and a pastry which can be eaten in or out on their streetside seating area and as it's situated in Melrose place...you never know who you might bump into.

Cute little coffee shop on the quiet Melrose side street but the 10 person deep line should warrant an extra person behind the counter to get things moving. Seems to be mostly local neighborhood patrons sitting around sipping their coffee's and chatting with neighbors. Despite the line, was still able to easily sit down, and find space for me and an associate to drink our coffee and catch-up. Not your usual Starbucks type coffee scene

Alfred in Brentwood opened with a big smile and a can do attitude. My wife and I had coffee there at least 3 days a week. Unfortunately they gave up on service and graciousness quickly. My wife is very nice particular about the temperature of her cappuccino and we travel consistently with a well worn “please can you make it hot hot hot and hotter still” (we can ask for this in many languages). Alfred was happy to make hers hot and did for quite some time without a glitch. We knew the baristas and which ones were best at getting it right. There were one or two who simply could not or would not try for “hot” and, as to one, a management person simply (and quietly) confided that “she has no touch and can only do it standard as trained”. (The person who made this comment was lovely and got a well deserved promotion in management and got transferred to a bigger Alfred’s). We learned to avoid the barista with no touch and seemed to be navigating it well, however, a few weeks ago that barista announced that she was having trouble with corporate because her “product use” was “too much” because some weeks earlier she had remade my wife’s cappuccino (rather than simply steam it again to increase the temp). That was a bit strange. Last week after we had our coffee (which was made to our temperature level just fine) and we were seated in the patio we had a visit by the incapable barista (who had not even been there when we ordered and got our coffee) and another person who said “I am telling you that the company does not want your business anymore and please don’t come back”. She gave me a handwritten piece of paper that said “name”@alfreds.com and said “email here if you have any questions”. I asked who that was and she said it was her email. I asked how to reach company persons and she said “email info@alfreds”. I figured out who the founder/owner was and reached out through Linked in with no reply. I tried to reach the company office and got no reply. Nicely Joe and The Juice just opened directly adjacent to these horribly snobbish and non-service oriented folks and are clearly blowing the business of Alfred’s with far better coffee and a full menu and smiling and happy staff who call us by name and delight to make a hot hot hot cappuccino with a perfect cup every time and a thank you for being there. Brentwood is a special place for places like Joe and The Juice (and many others). There is no room for rudeness and lack of caring like Alfred’s.

Seating mostly outdoor....great coffee...Stumptown...ice brewed coffee...some muchies as well...very nice atmosphere great service...always busy place...cant go just once...have to go back...

I've had the best triple espresso machiato ever , and the croissants and sandwiches were exelent, even thoug lines are long it's a very good service I think Alfred will grow BIG

We walked to Alfred on Melrose every morning from our vacantion/rental home in the hollywood hills. The coffee is delicious (they make a great flat white) and the decor, ambiance and location are spot on. We had bagels one morning from the Beastie Boys bagel truck out front and those bagels were out of this world!

Alfred was cute and quaint with unique drinks available. This is definitely a trendy location and when we were there, we struggled to find a place to sit. You’ll surely see instagrammers snapping pictures of their coffee or the recognizable wall in the downstairs area.

This is the Best coffee house in LA. The coffee and pastries are the best in town. The ambiance and service complements the whole experience.

The location is charming and the selection of beverages always feels very boutique. I always stick the cappuccino, iced in the summer (always have to ask for foam) and hot during the cool winter months. This is a go-to if you are visiting Melrose Place for the day, or looking for a local daytime hang for meetings, work, or creative inspiration. The deign and decor is five stars.

Myself, my brother, and two friends had looked in to grab a coffee at Alfred, but it was crowded so we kept looking on the street. Came upon a cute little tea shop and saw from menu that there was no coffee. So as we talked about where to go, this guy who's leaving the shop overheard and tells us about Alfred, to which we said we had gone and too crowded. He goes " where are you from? Us.."Seattle, Switzerland, Mexico ". Him.."come with me, I'll get you around the line" So as we walk he tells us he's the owner (also of the tea shop), takes us down, gets our order of cappuccinos etc. to the barista and chats with us for a while and then leaves after we thank him profusely for his wonderful intervention. When we went to pay, he had taken care of it! Apart from the great coffees she made , (they use Stumptown), what a lovely encounter. Will always recommend this charming place and sing the praises of the owner who made tourists feel welcome!

Great coffee. Very pleasant and fast service. A nice vibe in a trendy but yet cozy atmosphere. Will definitely return when in the neighborhood. Worth the stop.

Great coffee and in a very convenient location if you are driving around from Hollywood or even Beverly . Certainly one of the best coffee houses in town

Went here for a couple of coffees during our visit. Coffee came out fast and tasted great. The only downside were the 19 millennials that kept taking "gammies". Personally they need a slap. Nobody cares about a picture of coffee on your instagram! Just enjoy the coffee and the cute patio outside.

Look, the coffee is good and this is a hipster friendly ‘too cool for school’ locale. I get it. But a bit of genuine hospitality wouldn’t kill anyone. It’s decent simple self serve food offerings at best. Rude hipsters at worst. Bummed. I had hopes of excellence.

The coffee is delicious and fresh, the service is fast and friendly, what more can you ask for? The decor is very cute as well. Their cold brew is definitely worth a try

Delicious pastries and coffee! Fun and convenient neighborhood spot. Almond croissants were fabulous!

Fab coffee (I drink decaf and love their espresso). Fab ambience. Fab for people watching. Fab for getting a green juice. Fab for getting an iced matcha... My go to place in West Hollywood for anything "pick me up"

It has a charming tiny patio. EVERYTHING is delicious. It's bit pricey but their GREEN JUICE made my skin LUMINOUS!!! SOOOO good. Addictive for a very good reason.

Beautiful spot, love the decor and lots of seats. Coffee is tasty, staff is nice and friendly. Love the branding of Alfred Coffee!! lol hakavod!!! Would highly recommend as the atmosphere is cool and eclectic.

I had high expectations for this place. Mainly for the coffee, but also the atmosphere. The coffee was good enough, but not out of this world. The staff seemed stressed, and the place was packed (good for them!), so it was not a great experience.

I know this is supposed to be a coffee shop, but Alfred has one of the best tasting iced teas in all of Los Angeles - white tea with coconut. Yum! Light and flavorful, this tea bursts with the flavor of coconut. Nothing better on a hot day with one of their delicious pastries.

Loved the concept, great coffee and a very relaxing place to start the day/get a break from life. Loved to sit outside, hip and trendy coffee shop!

Alfred was amazing ! We loved this place- we walked to it from our Weho bnb. Very cute, very hipster. Beautiful people. Shockingly, the food from the cold refrigerated area was amazing!! Tasted fresh

Great location, great coffee and great hang out! From the minute you walk up, there’s a cool vibe and can’t believe the street it’s on, Melrose Place! Great to people watch and can’t beat the cappuccino with oat milk!!! Great desserts too! If you’re in the area definitely stop by and say hi to the nice staff!

Coffee shop that is popular for vibing and thriving. Came here to grab a matcha since the Glossier Alley location was closed. I got the matcha latte made with chaga mushrooms. It’s $1 extra if you opt for iced. You order/pay first and they call out your order once ready. Credit cards only. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Metered street parking.

The espressos were strong and intense - similar to an Australian cafe. They do serve small lattes upon request (not the jumbo US type)! Food was simple and pre-prepared. We enjoyed sitting on the nature strip and people watching.

This is a good place to hang out and have a coffee or two and it has a nice ambience. Its usually pretty crowded because its so popular and there are a fair amount of people with computers who take up many tables, but I guess you find that everywhere nowadays. We had good coffee drinks and pastries here. If you can find a table, its even better!

Personally don’t think it’s worth the overall cost. I’m from New Zealand where Ice chocolates are a lot more than just chocolate milk (I don’t drink coffee) and all I got was some chocolate milk in a plastic cup for $9. A friend got a coffee and also said it didn’t quite compare to what we get at home. Great little place though and I can see why people are drawn too it I just don’t think they hype is worth it

We often go to the farmers market which is on the street in front of this place every Sunday morning and we will often go inside to grab a coffee or something small to eat. This place is very popular it gets very crowded so you need patience to stand in line. The coffee and the atmosphere are wonderful and we highly recommend it We also highly recommend the farmers market on Melrose Place on Sunday mornings

In this place you can meet actors and other celebrities . You can drink your coffee and work with your laptop or just sit and watch people. There are some tables outside . Cosy atmosphere, informal.

I experienced my first Matcha green tea latte which was refreshing and a very unique beverage .. different from the Michigan coffee shops. We enjoyed sitting on the patio and look forward to returning tomorrow for lunch 😋

Stopped by to rest and drink something after lots of walking on Rodeo Drive. Its a hip place, with different types of drinks. I had an oat milk drink with ginger and turmeric. Supposedly its good for you. My husband had his usual expresso which he said was good. the service was fast and friendly. Its not a destination caffe however if you are in the area and need a drink, Alfred's is a cool option.

A great place with cool staff and a tasty selection of coffee. A nice place to have breakfast and spend some time with locals.

Hipster vibe. Good coffee, great customer service. Nicely decorated. Ideal location. We went on a Sunday while farmers market was going on. We enjoyed our coffee while checking out each stand.

We were in Melrose to go shopping but my girls wanted to get coffee and breakfast here beforehand. The place is constantly busy with people in and out. The latte was delicious and my breakfast burrito was amazing! Loved sitting outside on a beautiful day sipping coffee.

Trendy little coffee shop in an alley just off of Melrose in West Hollywood. The coffee was OK and the salmon sandwich was $12 and tasty but a bit light on the salmon.

Awesome coffee of all sorts; love the hot chocolate too. You know you are getting the best possible brews every single time. Don't usually eat pastries but this place makes me feel like what the heck! Just enjoy your life and do something good for your soul!

I love this place so much more then Starbucks, its great! Hip vibe great coffee, you dont have to speak a secret language to order. Very cool to hang out at!

This is a classic neighborhood coffee house. Friendly folks stop i with their dogs, people on their computers chatting over the big shared table or quietly out side or in a corner...always busy, great coffee, good yogurt and granola and scones! and friendly service...made it my stop the two days i was in West Holywood.

I was out in the area visiting and got a gift card for Alfred. I tried their World Famous Vanilla Latte and fell in love with it! I came back for more the next few days. I also tried their Chinese chicken wrap and their salmon wrap, both were good. The atmosphere is cozy. The staff were kind but had trouble with payment processing and got my drink order wrong one of the days. I had to go back to get it fixed. I also got charged the wrong amount to my debit card after using up my gift card and paying the extra. You guys have a nice little coffee place, but staff needs to be better trained as multiple times nobody seemed to know what they are doing. I get it, it's the holidays and it's kind of chaotic. Maybe you hired a bunch of new people recently? It just was a little stressful for a coffee experience. But I'd come back.
Ok
This place was ok, we had the ice tea which was probably the wrong choice - very weak and tasteless. Really busy but found somewhere to sit, glad we went for sone pictures but wouldn't go again or recommend it tbh.
