Was visiting San Francisco for a conference and a friend and I found ourselves in the city at the same time, so we caught up for dinner here - it was excellent. Delicious meal, good service, fun lively atmosphere. Recommend for a relaxed evening out with very nice food.

Had a great medium rare flank steak salad (good meat, not chewy, perfectly cooked). Wife had mushroom fettuccini: not overcooked, excellent sauce. Good bottle of Zinfandel for $25. Great service, will return.

I have lived in SF for 10 years and this is the best restaurant discovery I have made. I arrived one half hour before their noon opening time for lunch (after I had a short dentist appointment near Union Square). They seated me in a nice parklet outside, let me order a drink and even placed my lunch order so that it would arrive at my table shortly after noon. The Mussels were not in the standard broth but in a delicious tomato based sauce. All the servers were very nice and especially one woman who helped me connect to the internet with their password so that I could look up the nearest bus stop. We live fairly close and I look forward to bringing my husband to dine here in the near future.

went here with office group and had one of the upstairs communal tables. a little tight but worked well. had a collectionof appys: brussels, charcuterie , mac n cheese and all perfect. my dinner was bolognese -check def re order. tried the scallops which were delish . overall good experience and a nice bar downstairs

A group of us had dinner. I had the roast brussels sprouts which was a huge bowlful and they were fantastic. then the akaushi NY strip steak which was really great. relaxing place, good service, good comfort food. would definitely return

Just round the corner from our hotel and recommended by hotel staff. We loved it. Food was good, service was good (perhaps a bit too fast for British tastes!) and the cocktails were absolutely briliiant. Like all eating in SF it's not cheap, but you will enjoy a meal at Aliment

We wanted good food at a reasonable price. As I can react to additives in food, I am very careful. However their food was fresh, innovative and scrumptious. The waitress was very good and "listened" to my requirements. For me, it ticked all the boxes. Especially after have a "shameful" meal the night before at the hotel. Shameful - meaning don't eat it,

First visit since March 2020 and it’s only gotten better. Great friendly service and top quality tasty food. It’s a welcoming and friendly place.

Friendly Staff, cool atmosphere and wine list.. I had the salmon and it was excellent! Not cheap but good quality Really enjoyed the evening here

Loved this restaurant with its "chef driven" menu. We never did work out what that means but we went there twice and liked it both times. The food is interesting and flavoursome. The surroundings are industrial chic. There are multiple dining spaces so getting a table wasn't a problem. Try the scallops.

Our first impression was a good one when we were seated quite pleasantly without a reservation (Though you definitely should make one). Unfortunately, we were pressed for time to make an evening performance, and our server was very accommodating, so we chose to sample some small plates. The highly praised brussel sprouts were deliciously unlike any vegetable dish, with a sweet nutty-like flavor. A must try even if you think you don't like them. I appreciate a server who will step out and actually make suggestions when asked. Thus we also stepped out and went with a Rueben style lean pastrami slider on a pretzel bun, lightly dressed with a French aioli and balanced with a subtle but tangy cider vinegar slaw. Finally, a lamb riblet was cooked perfectly, charred outside with a medium rare center. Slightly scented with a tarragon rub and served over a sweet/hot North African pepper sauce and some cooling Tatziki on the side. A wonderful marriage of flavors. You can definitely dine well with the small plates as an entree or enjoy them as appetizers. Several guests at other tables were ordering the large plate entrees and splitting to get the full experience. This is definitely a place to try again and again to sample the chef's creativity, and we will be sure to make reservations for a more extended meal next visit.

Food was excellent and the server and manager and another girl who came to the table were extremely nice and willing for us to be comfortable. We were sited outside because inside it was noisy for me and is the only reason I took out one star. Outside there were heaters and was more enjoyable in my opinion. We had the curry squash soup that was great, the steak salad and the mushroom pasta. All of them excellent. We had the Terrazas Malbec that we love and here it was well priced also. We didn’t ordered dessert, but another guest gave us the doughnuts with sauce that were delicious. We had an excellent time and would come back again before leaving San Francisco!

Found this restaurant by coincidence as it is located across the street from our hotel (Grant Hotel). My son and I had the rib-eye, which was absolutely divine and cooked to perfection perfection. The staff was very friendly and gave us useful ideas for hiking trails in Yosemite. Had a great evening.

Headed to this place following a review of opentable as it was just a block away from our hotel and we didnt want to venture far. We all had burgers which were delicious. Place was full of locals, quite loud but nice buzz to it. Food great and service friendly and spot on. Enjoyed it so much headed back a few days later for quick lunch before heading to airport. Sat outside and enjoyed salmon salad, cranapple salad and others had burgers again. Would recommend and visit again when back in SF!

Delicious food- creative, not just the same old things. We both got the pork chop with mashed sweet potatoes and Apple chutney, as well as the Brussels sprouts and roasted vegetables. Service was good too.

As nice as we remember from 2019! Mussels then charcuterie to share and delicious wine! Thank you as always - super seats watching the world go by. It isn’t a hidden gem it’s a super star in the nob hill area! Go and enjoy - wish I was local as I’d be in more regularly!

We have now been in USA 12 days and this has been a meal that has not been a highlight. Meals are very meaty. There is no option to even order salad etc. Service was v ordinary. Our meal came very quickly with no opportunity to order wine. To date we have loved SF food offerings. Not recommended and this is from a reviewer who is never negative.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant so we hiked down Nob Hill to eat there. We looked over the limited menu and I picked out a butternut squash salad which came with curry dressing. I asked for it to be prepared with balsamic dressing. The balsamic was on the menu on a different salad. The waitress said she had to ask the chef if he would give me different dressing. She also asked me if there was a different salad I would like in case the chef wouldn't substitute the dressing. She came back and said that he said NO! My husband I decided to leave and said we thought the chef was a total jerk! I was only asking for different dressing. I asked if I had asked for dressing in the side would he have given me balsamic. She said he was already angry that I would ask to change dressings and couldn't ask him. Have you ever?!!!

I had dinner with friends in this downtown restaurant, with well presented dishes although with rather limited choices. Good quality of ingredients, I enjoyed the cooking. Prices in the norm.

The food, service and atmosphere made this a unique experience for dinner. I was able to sit on the second with a view of the whole restaurant. I recommend the Brussels sprouts, beet salad and charcuterie board.

Have been there with friends dining outside (Covid), having enjoyed great food & cocktails. Service was also great! The tables outside are perfect for groups of various sizes, shade and it appears for evening dining. Wish they still had their short ribs with mashed potatoes, but other items we've recently had were great too!

great atmosphere we walked by seemed full walked a few blocks came back for drinks salads friendly genuine staff look forward to happy hour tomorrow no complaints a bistro with tasty food clean clean place

Wow!. On a brief stay in San Francisco on our way to Yosemite. Aliment was just a few hundred yards from our hotel. One of the best all round "food experiences" of our life. Had a sampling of the Brussels spouts, chicken wings and Piquillo peppers. Each were outstanding with subtle blends of stunning flavors all complementing each other perfectly. I have sampled the Brussel Sprouts at numerous other restaurants but have never had any like this. They had a perfect texture with some crunchiness combined with a perfect sweetness. Definitely "best" Ive ever had. We then tried the Ricotta Gnocchi. I am a Gnocchi lover and this more fluffy version accented with pear, sun dried tomato and Gorgonzola was, likewise, the best ever. Desert was a combination of Cabernet Gelato and Creme Brûlée infused with popcorn and with crystallized chocolate. Unique and amazing. I am sure that this restaurant will soon garner an Michelin star. Can't wait to come back someday! Congrats to the chef and excellent staff!

Dropped in on a trip to San Fan just across the road from our hotel- meals were amazing - pancetta was a beautiful piece of mouth watering pork on bed of risotto - gnocchi was also excellent - we had starters as well as entrees (mains) couldn't finish. Great staff and atmosphere. With a couple of wines beers etc $130 + tip.

Aliment is a reasonably priced restaurant in San Francisco. They have very good food but somewhat small portions. Service was ok but not great. The menu choices were very limited.

This place caught my eye on a uber ride back from the waterfront. We shared 3 dishes- a beet salad with chicken, roasted brussel sprouts and salmon on couscous. All delicious and really too much for two people. Ended up taking leftovers and having for lunch the next day. Semi open kitchen. Super friendly waiter. Great wine list. Really enjoyable evening which didn’t cost a fortune.

This place was recommended to us as a good quality local eatery. However the overall dining experience was very poor. The atmosphere was that of a frat house ,and unbearably noisy. The proprietor even insisted on keeping the door open. The food was ok but definitely not exceptional.on the plus side the service was good.We will not be going back.

I still don't know what fish sauce caramel is, but it makes for very tasty brussels sprouts, and I'm not even that big a fan of brussels sprouts. Food is tasty and creative farm to table. Drinks are well-crafted. The staff are great; we especially enjoyed conversations with the bartender about drinks he was working on and the surprisingly good selection of Amari that they have.

I went in here based on the recommendation from the White Swan Hotel across the road. Definitely very helpful, informative and friendly service by Jarryd. ( he may be Gerard, not certain) This is a bar type restaurant which my own 30 year old kids would love. The place was rocking with animated conversation and high spirits. The menu has bar snacks, pastas/ entrees and small serves. It would be a great place to share food with a group. I ordered the cured salmon appetiser which is definitely a taste treat especially with its ginger overtones. My chicken wings were quite spicy and it would have made far better sense to share them but I valiantly ate them all. I needed two glasses of chilled water to keep me going as the Korean sauce was very spicy too. I think I had at least ten small winglets. Had to have a dessert to finish off and the chocolate cake with ice cream sounds very everyday but it is anything but. The cake is cooked in a small bowl and the chocolate is molten deliciousness. Must use the best chocolate too as there was none of that after taste you get from an inferior product. The wine was top class too. Not a cheap meal for one person but a memorable one.

A local friend recommended this place. We loved the salad (Chicoree), the chicken and the choce of local wines. The spaghetti bolognese should have more tomato sauce. Absolutely friendly service!

Although I have to preface by saying reasonable prices for San Francisco, I found the menu very challenging due to all the very good options available and I ended up ordering several appetizers instead of a main course. A nice bar and a good service should definitively make you want to check it out if you stay anywhere between union square and Chinatown. Only problem...it was quite loud so probably not a good place for a first date!

Met a family member here for dinner while I was in SFO on business. Drink at the bar while waiting for him to arrive was pleasant. Busy atmosphere, but attentive and generous bartender. We sat upstairs for dinner. Good service. Started with appetizers, (Brussels sprouts were superb), and ended up just ordering lots of appetizers and more drinks. Chocolate cake for desert was really rich. Perfect to share.

Great food, great music, great booze and lovely, friendly staff. What more could you possibly ask for. Oh, they had Dune on the TV when we were there. Brilliant!

Great place for lunch: rich and well-made salad. Very good and well seasoned burgers. Reasonable prices, especially compared to San Francisco. Very friendly staff and quick, courteous service.

What a great find! A total stranger recommended this restaurant - and we're glad he did. Amazing service, fantastic food! Best brussel sprouts we've ever had.......and we don't normally like brussel sprouts. Wonderful ambiance. We would definitely go back!

Visited as close to our hotel, and we liked the vibe as we walked past. Struggled to get a table so we could tell it would be good! Service was fantastic with personable, friendly and efficient staff. Food was amazing (burger and buttermilk chicken). Great portion sizes and wine list was spot on. Nice atmosphere created with music too. Thank you for a great experience!

We did four days in SF - this is a great restaurant in tendernob - close to Union Square. Sat at bar and had citrus salad and fish of day. Gnocchi was sensational!! Staff very friendly

Food was amazing. The fish tacos appetiser were delicious. Staff were friendly. Only negative was that our drinks took a while, food came out about 5 mins after. Would recommend!

We visited Aliment for the first time in Saturday and sat upstairs where there was another very loud and boisterous party of ten. We asked to be seated somewhere else but there was nothing was available. This is a small place that seats maybe 50. But the Loud party ruined an otherwise good dinner. We complained to Cari our waitress but she just shrugged her shoulders. But now on to the food . We ordered 3 salads and I liked the squash salad the best. The cured salmon appetizer was similar to a tuna tartare in preparation and presentation. The wings were ok . The Brussel sprouts were pan fried and well done. For the main entrees we shared the Gnochhi, Fettuccine which was creamy and cheesy and delicious, the Steak which was excellent and the Chicken roulade which was very good too. Overall good food but poor service

Enjoyed the happy hour margaritas. Squash soup was complex and rich with a touch of curry. Mussels in a wonderful tomato broth and bread made for a nice light dinner. Parklet and inside seating were walk in available at 5 PM.

Our first night restaurant, suggested by the White Swan Inn as a nearby choice. A minimal menu, but great service and good food. Nice atmosphere in this bistro style bar/restaurant. We arrived late, but no pressure to eat up quickly.

Eclectic menu with some fun surprises in a cozy friendly space. Would recommend for a date night, not ideal for families

Not long after a long haul flight ex Sydney our concierge at the Mark recommended Aliment and we were not disappointed. Food was excellent (I personally had the NY Strip and could have gone another round!), wine list was small but of very decent quality, service was exceptional - fast , efficient and very friendly. Our waitress even went out of her way to provide a us a written list of recommended places to eat/drink while were in town. We took in two (Canela for tapas and ENO for wine) and both were excellent. A few days later we discovered that owing to a miscommunication we had overpaid by tipping twice, we alerted the restaurant and they very kindly and honorably refunded my CC one of the amounts immediately, apologising for the mix-up. I thoroughly recommend a visit.

I was recently in San Francisco and had a wonderful experience in this terrific restaurant. It is a family business and Sam does his family so proud in running this great place. The food is wonderful - I had the mushroom fettuccine (add chicken!); sensational. Anna, the bartender makes a mean gimlet which is delightful. A great restaurant which you must try! I’ll go back there next time I’m in town for sure.

We went to Aliment on our last day in San Francisco on a 6 week tour of the US. We loved the place from start to finish. We were welcomed from the minute we opened the door till the moment we left. I have to say, this was one of the best meals we have had in 4 weeks travelling. This was made even better by Rachel who served us throughout our sitting. She was totally awesome, and helped and socialised with all the customers including ourselves. Remembering our names, talking and chatting she was a credit to the restaurant. We loved her outlook and dementor. We couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough. Go, you won’t be disappointed.

My husband and I are in the city for a quick little getaway. I looked this place up online and noticed that it had pretty decent reviews, so we decided to try it. We were not disappointed. Their drink menu was filled with gin, whiskey, bitters type drinks- kinda hipster vibe. Their menu had some really great selections but we went with the strip steak, shrimp and grits, and kale beet salad. The salad was awesome- I wanted to go back and eat it again it was so amazing...And the portion size was manageable for one. The shrimp and grits, while I normally would only order them in the south, were fantastic without being too rich. I tried a bite of my husbands steak and it was seasoned well and cooked properly. Service was great and the bartender was appropriately attentive and obviously took pride in his job- watching them make cocktails was like watching a chemist- a few drops here, a little punch there- it was neat. Will come back as soon as i can.

We visited here within our first hour of being in San Francisco. We walked down from the Fairmont for something light to eat and stumbled across Aliment. It's very cool and hipsterish, but wth amazing food and tasty cocktails. We happened to get there for happy hour and had curried mussels (my husbands favourite mussels ever!) buffalo wings and chips (really well seasoned & cooked to perfection!) It was our cheapest meal in San Fran, and because it was full of locals we felt really at home. Good food, good drinks, great atmosphere!!

We came across this little restaurant one evening as we walked back to our hotel. We saw a sign that advertised "Happy Hour" and we were all about that! The bar crew were all so friendly and great at recommending places to visit in the city. I had already started on a local craft beer, but wish l had tried their two (a red and a white) Sangrias. Maybe next time. We did not try any pup grub, but the people next to us tried the French fries and gave them big raves. Also, they have the greatest wall garden.

We were lucky to get a seat in this very busy little restaurant and in the end this was only at the bar (which actually suited us as it made you more sociable and we ended up chatting to some lovely people and the bar staff). The gnocchi was lovely and the servings generous and not badly priced. The atmosphere was laid back and we stayed here for a few hours. Highly recommend.

Have been here a number of times in 2022 as it's walking distance from where our son and my girlfriend live. Nice outdoor dining so bring we bring our doggie! Sam and team are great when it comes to service even when it's busy. Food is very good, with nice selections beers, wines and other beverages.

Met a girlfriend for drinks and a relaxed dinner. Happy hour runs until 7 ($8 wine). It was fun, the antipasti plate was generous and tasty. We also had wings, salad and sprouts, which were okay, and great size to share. Friendly service. Nothing to complain about, and would go again if in the area. I wouldn’t especially seek it out though.

The starters may be even more interesting than the main courses, but everything was so tasty. Reuben sliders are amazing and the riblets are outstanding. I had a pork loin with posole, nice heat, well cooked. The atmosphere is also nice, good wine list. Can get pricey when everything adds up, but I'd go again.

Brought the family and everyone had a great time. The food was delicious and the drinks were poured well. The staff was friendly and helpful.

It is a nice place, with beautiful people, very noisy in a saturday night, good for groups or couple but not so romantic. You have a small options of dishes, but they are very tasteful and good. Good option of drinks and wines.

Service is good. Food is better. Drinks are excellent. Interior is a little worn, but still nice and clean. You have to accept time takes its toll. It can get busy, but on a slow night with the ‘A-Team’ kitchen staff this would be a solid 5-star. On a busy night it is still good, but be prepared for harried staff and noise.

They used instant noodles for the BOLOGNESE. It was not disclosed on the menu or by the waitress. The Kale salad was too dry and sour. A poor attempt to provide fusion food.

Aliment means to nourish, and that's exactly what it does, and to a very high standard. We have been travelling for a month and this is close to the best dining experience we have had, and we simply stumbled across it because it is near to our hotel. The restaurant looks great from the outside, is very appealing once inside, the server was also great, both our starters and mains were superb, and their wine list is good too. Absolutely nothing to fault. Go there if you want a quality night out.

We had just arrived in San Francisco and we were looking for a place that was close to our hotel for dinner. We wandered around a little to see the sites and came across Ailment and decided to see if we could find a place outside to sit. There was a short wait but we were able to get a spot under the outdoor enclosure out of the wind. I ordered the Curry Squash Soup and if I could bottle that stuff and ship it home I would!! It is the best squash soup I have ever had. Hubby and I both got a green salad, he also ordered the fried chicken sandwich which he said was really good, and the Mac and Cheese that he didn't care much for, he is a real mac n' cheese snob. I don't usually order dessert because I can't really have a lot of sugar, but there was a coconut panna cotta on the menu which is usually low in sugar, so we took a chance that it would be made correctly and good, as it turned out it was excellent and we really tried to savor it. I would highly recommend this place for dinner, and I'm sure their lunch is just as good.

Loved the unique cocktail offerings as well as the dinner menu. Even if you don't think you like brussels sprouts, order them, you will be a convert!

Must have the roasted Brussels Sprouts!! The portion is generous, but we wouldn't have minded more. Also had the riblets, and the scallop entree. Everything was good, but the scallops were not a good deal - expensive compared to the small plates. Next time, we'll stick with the small plates and salads. Also had a nice chocolate cake for dessert. Wine list is ok.

After experiencing too much unhealthy food from the many diners and the likeduring our stay in SF, what a delight to get a quality meal at Aliment. Good service, ok a bit pricey but you get a real treat.

A smaller neighborhood restaurant with a lively urban vibe. It is noisy! Happy hour, at the bar only from 5 to 7, draws a crowd. Menu is limited but tasty. Service was friendly. Ambience is very urban, with loft seating over the main floor and bar area.

I stumbled upon Aliment on my recent visit to San Francisco. What a wonderful surprise as everything was perfect from the Old Fashioned to the Steak and Salmon Salads and the sautéed Brussel sprouts were to die for. I highly recommend this local find and I only wish I discovered them earlier on my trip as I would have eaten here every night.

Popped into Aliment when the cable car decided not to work; how lucky to find this nice neighborhood gem, which has a fine bar as well as offered seated dining. Opted for a happy hour break. Barkeepers were super nice and the happy hour menu offered many great tasty snacks. Looking forward to venturing back for more.

We had a really great meal here. We chose mainly from the small plates meals and there was certainly enough food to satisfy. Great taste and value and a good wine list. Recommended.

I am guided by trip advisor's comments to this restaurant. It's not bad... It's really not that great. The dinner menu has only 7 choices for starters and 6 choices for main. Nothing in the main attracts me so I picked a beef tartare and mussels. In general, I would say the seasoning is heavy handed and the food lacks sophistication. The beef tartare has so much capers and salt in it you can't taste the beef at all. For the mussels, again it's cooked with chorizo and heavy cream. And if you know what I mean, one bad mussel can ruin the whole pot. Both dishes come with bread and toast. They are not fresh, not warm and not crispy. The meal is $40. I would say it's average.

We decided a chance on this restaurant because it was close to our hotel. My wife has many food allergies and made sure they could manage her needs..Joey and Sam jumped in and figured out what was best..plus suggested a desert ..coconut panacota..that was dairy free and excellent. The restaurant is busy ,loud and a bit chaotic…upstairs is a bit more quiet, outside would have been best..but too cold and breezy this night… Curry butternut soup was excellent .

Ate here on our first night, place was noisy and buzzing downstairs but we managed to get a table upstairs which was a nicer setting. Family of 4 adults, we had ribeye, salmon on couscous, steakburger and the buttermilk chicken. Food arrived promptly and was very good and flavoursome. Very attentive waitress.

Nice neighborhood find. I was staying at the Fairmont hotel and this spot was close by. Excellent, attentive customer service, recommendations and friendly conversation. I sat at the bar - arrived early by 7:00 every table and bar seat was taken on a Tuesday night. I had a great dinner. Delicious stuffed chili peppers and Brussels sprouts. Eclectic menu - my choices had excellent flavors. The mussels looked really good too. Plenty to choose from. I will return on my next visit to the area.

A great discovery on Bush st. We weren't sure if we would go in but a waiter waved us over and the welcome was perfect. The server was attentive and very friendly. What can I say about the meal? Wow! Thanks to the chef the best fettucini I have eaten. My partner's salmon dish was by far his best meal too. Very affordable for the price given the quality of what we ate

This is a really nice little restaurant. It was near our Union Square Hilton. Menu has 1/2 dozen entrees. My son and I each had their Kurobuta pork chop with a unagi glaze and chilis. Wonderful. My wife had the gnocchi with roasted pears, sundried tomatoes, walnut praline, and gorgonzola sauce. She liked that as well. I had a simple gelato for dessert. The place is fairly small, with good service, and a relaxed atmosphere. Do not go there expecting dash and flair.

The service is horrid. I have a service animal and I was told that I must eat outside. We waited for over 15 minutes for a menu which we got after my husband went back inside to remind them. It took another 10 minutes to have our order taken after I stopped a waiter to assist us. I will never go back.

Wine and beer selection was excellent. Very stylish and was just down the block from our hotel. Many boutique hotels in the neighborhood makes this dining convenient. We had the soup, sliders and fries. Casual food so don't set your expectations for fine dining.

I had visited Aliment nine months ago with my daughter and her boyfriend and it was very good but my return visit was even better. The drink menu was imaginative, the starters (PEI mussels!, beet salad) were terrific. Our entrees, Pork Tenderloin, Grilled Chicken, Gnocchi, Scallops and Bolognese were each excellent and devoured with joy. Our desserts of Chocolate Cake, doughnuts and ice cream were fantastic. The party of five rang up a bill of $307.

Maybe it's just me, but when it actually *is* just me, I don't expect to be treated differently than when I eat with others. At this spot, I was offered a place at the bar or a terrible tucked away table near the fire extinguisher. My waitress actually rolled her eyes at me when I wanted to sit with a drink before ordering. I ordered a delicious dish called "spatzel mac and cheese." She rolled her eyes a second time when I asked her to describe the dish (as spatzel and mac and cheese are two different things.) And she hurried me along. If she feared that as a singleton I would tip less, it became for her a self fulfilling prophecy.

I visited Aliment with a group of friends and found the menu to be modern and quite varied in nature and cuisine. We all found the food well prepared and flavorsome. I would recommend Aliment for a quick casual meal.

The restaurant has a wonderful neighborhood vibe. The wait staff was friendly and attentive, and the food delicious. The salmon was just delicious and beautifully plated. It's definitely worth a visit.

Interesting items, but half good. Service was fine, but it was so warm inside the restaurant we were sweating even before trying the spicy fried chicken. Salmon cakes were cooked nicely, but nothing special.

We were looking for a restaurant with full bar near the Masonic before a concert and found this little gem. Small menu but very good food and service. Happy hour in the bar area from 4-7. We will definitely go back when in the area again.

We were hungry after a long flight from the UK so searched for restaurants close to our hotel. We were tempted by the sweet sprout signature dish and we weren’t disappointed. Delicious gnocchi too. Great service topped everything off.

In that neighborhood, it is hard to find a place to eat that is reasonably priced, delicious and all around excellent. This is it! The service we had was outstanding and service with a smile. We were a party of two and ordered four dishes between us. Each one was better than the next. We didn't get the buttermilk fried chicken, but the couple next to us did and said it was the best they have ever eaten. Add on top of that some good drinks and we were thrilled. Will be back, for sure!

We made a last minute decision to go here because all the other restaurants were closed by 8. We called ahead and they said they would have a table waiting for us. When we got there, they knew who we were based on our phone conversation and seated us right away! We had the Brussels sprouts for an appetizer as recommended by our server. They did not disappoint! Our entrees came out right on time and we could watch the kitchen cook our meals fresh! We finished the meal with the doughnut dessert, it was fabulous. We will be back here next time we are in town. The staff was very personable and made this an all around wonderful experience!

On our first visit, we needed just a very small meal, and on our second visit, a full meal - the menu served up both really nicely! Very friendly staff, and a great atmosphere - I got the feeling that the majority of customers were locals. Food was great and not too expensive - definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

This is a good restaurant, in line with many others in SF. Not well equipped for kids and very young guests. The service is anyway good and atmosphere is very nice with an open kitchen visible from all tables. We got a fried chicken Korea style and a Burger with two glass of wine and a dessert for 82 USD.

Limited menu to start and they were already out of what we wanted by 6:45pm! My fish was overcooked and presentation just ok. The ambiance was horrible and the second floor had no ventilation to speak of. We will never be back...

The projection of Kirk in an episode of TOS was enough to draw me into the double-height space. A modern venue, with refreshingly sized portions of delectable foods (we ordered from the small plates) to share and talk over. Unassuming but worth a visit.

The restaurant is split over three levels for seating with the first level having a bar which runs a happy hour some evenings. We ate on the second level which was a kind of mezzanine over looking the main floor. The cocktails were decent as were the wine offerings. The food was good too. We had a warm goat cheese tart for a starter which was a little on the small side, but then shared a huge rib eye steak after that.

Good food and drinks. The thing that dragged the rating down was that the service felt a little pushy. You got the bill without asking for it...

Place looks real nice, recommendations all over. Our experience not in line, on a Monday night not all menu options available, after ordering we were told wine choice no longer available and another menu option sold out. Then NY strip was served on stone cold plate. Desserts were very good.

Nice decor. Gnocchi was a bit to smoky for my liking. Korean fried chicken was nice and crispy but had a funky skin. Food was good but just average it. Service was good..

The manager and staff are amazing! The service are very good and the food is tasteful. We went in 10 people and the manager was flexible with our table and service. I really recommend!

Amazing food! Great vibe, service and location. A gem!!! The mussels for entree were divine!!! I mean incredible. Huge servings - beware😱 Great work... first night in San Fran. Impressed!!

First of all, very cool, modern interior design. I was ushered in even though there were few customers inside and it was fairly late (around 9:30) and sat at the bar. First of all the bartenders are super friendly and as I was pretty sick and feeling cruddy, make me a delicious hot toddy and even gave it to me at happy hour prices (rather than the steep $13 or so cocktail prices). I only got the soup as I was minimally hungry and frankly, the menu is pretty expensive. The squash curry soup was served in a decent sized bowl and had a lovely orange colour with plenty of chunks of pumpkin (I think?) plus hazelnuts (I think) which enhanced the rich flavour. Plus the soup is dotted with pink flower petals. Great for when as I was sick as I was. I was tempted by the sauteed cauliflower but maybe next time I’m in SF. Thanks guys for the good conversation. Whilst the hot toddy didn’t make me feel 100% the next day I definitely think it contributed somewhat to my recovery :)

Average food. A bit fusion and innovative I should say . Price around $20-30 for main. Portion a bit small. Place a bit cosy and well keep. My kimchi chicken is not 100% cooked.

Never heard of this restaurant, my daughter took me here and my goodness. Best brussel sprouts and best ribs. A must do restaurant, great service and upstairs is good seats for conversation.

We just happened upon Aliment a year ago so ate at the bar as we did not have reservations. It was entertaining to watch the kitchen staff work and we received personal attention from the bartender. Excellent food! We did small plates and shared so we could sample a variety. We have gone back since and still love it.

I would give this restaurant 3.5 stars if I could. The worst dish was the soup. I cannot remember the exact description from the menu, but it tasted like it consisted of as much ground clove and ground cinnamon you could hold in suspension in luke-warm water. There were some whole hazelnuts on top, which was the best part. The server kindly took the soup off the check, as we really couldn't eat it. The mussels were a popular dish, as was the NY strip. The gnocchi claimed to contain pear, but we couldn't taste any pear. The flavours that were there (gorgonzola, sun-dried tomato and walnuts) did work well. We tried two of the three desserts, which were both well executed. The atmosphere in Aliment was good - busting but not hectic. Good cocktail menu.

Great food and drinks, reasonably priced (first time I’ve written that in San Fran!). Sangria, rose wine, craft beers. Really enjoyed our spur of the moment late lunch at Ailment. Food is fresh and tasty, generous portions without being overwhelmingly huge. Recommend!

We had a business dinner at Aliment, about eight of us. They gave us a quiet table on the second floor. If I was there just for fun, I would stay on the first floor which had a really cool vibe, dinner tables surrounding a big bar area. Noticeably absent, to my great relief, were the omnipresent TV's. Instead, they project old movies high on a blank wall with no sound. When we were there, they were showing the original Lawrence of Arabia. The food is quite good. The brussell sprouts appetizer was really good. So was the mac and cheese with bacon (they called it something else). My entree was a salmon steak which was excellent. Others in the group had a pork tenderloin that they raved about. Their wine and craft beer selection was really good. Next time my wife and I travel to San Francisco I want to bring her to Aliment. I think she would love it!

We stumbled upon this restaurant one night looking for some good food. There were plenty of people enjoying drinks and food and the decor looked inviting. We decided to go in and try it out. Once seated: right in front of kitchen/bar in a booth, we realized the noise level was very, very high. They should install some noise dampeners as the walls just bounce and amplify everyone talking. It was hard to talk to my sister sitting in front of me. We then ordered our food. The menu is very limited. Take a look before you sit. Good news was once the food came out it was delicious. I had the NY Strip and I finished every bite on the plate. The flavors complimented one another and it was perfect.

Our group had a great lunch at Aliment the other day. We all ordered the hamburger, and everyone loved the food. The french fries were crunchy on the outside and smooth on the inside, and the side of mashed potatoes was amazing. The service was fast and friendly. We will be back soon.

This nice restaurant off the San Francisco beaten track in Nob Hill is a hidden gem. Friendly, attentive staff, great food and drink and amazing steak. Not too expensive and well worth a visit. A must try is the Mac and Cheese, delicious!

We went to this restaurant with a large group of people. There was another large group already seated. I mention this in order to be fair to the restaurant as they may have been overwhelmed with the number of people. I had a leek and potato soup that was not hot and had a glutinous texture. The taste was bland and close to being bad. It was followed by salman cakes that on the positive side were not dry. What they were was extremely salty. Plate not hot either. Menu very limited and not very interesting. Overall for the price it was a disapointment I would not recommend the restaurant.

Went here for dinner , they had some outside seating pods which we could had booked so would recommend this - but inside was nice aswell. Food was lovely, pork with sweet potato mash was very good , and would recommend the coconut panacotta for dessert. Nice friendly staff.

Normally really like ailment when visiting SF. - good food and sangria. Have been twice this week and the staff are lovely. Today dropped by from my hotel for dinner. Sat 18th March. OMG the bartender was obnoxious. He has central character syndrome and thinks it’s all about him and his ‘performance’, often loud bitchy comments re clientele eg ‘you seatyourself, you serve yourself’. He chatted to a friend at the bar for ages, had to flag him repeatedly for service. Urgh, just urgh. Guy with a beard. Regularly lovely bartender, maybe owner, with glasses, then took Over thankfully as this ‘bro’ (his self reference, gave me a headache

Went here for a family evening meal. Nice setting and good atmosphere. Good range of food, and everyone could find something they wanted., My salad had some issues, but spoke with the server, who sorted it out very quickly (much appreciated).

Where to get a same day reservation on Mother's day weekend??? Well this place was close to our hotel (walking distance) and had a good review on Trip Advisor. We were seated immediately and the service was very good. The pork loin was excellent, sliced with a delicious sauce and micro greens. The steak burger was good but I had to take it off the bun as there was too much bread. The burundi fish was excellent but was a skimpy cut for the price you paid. Overall, the service was quick and the food tasty. Would eat there again.

Highly recommended by a coworker who knows the owner. I liked the atmosphere however kind of cramped and noisy. I had the barramundi and I don’t know how the chef had dried it out so bad that it was almost inedible. I’ve seen several other reviews say the same thing. I was with a group of 10 so I didn’t want to send it back. Server also disappeared for long stretches of time and forgot things. The other people at the table enjoyed their Korean hot chicken. Has potential but disappointing.

Recommended by our hotel just up the street we called in for happy hour and a bite to eat Place was buzzing and staff were fabulous Plenty of people coming in Food was great and obviously a very popular place

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Aliment: great menu, superb service, and lovely ambience. They had no problem making a dinner reservation for 10 ppl on a Friday night at 8, and (unlike most other restaurant we spoke to) did not insist on a prix-fixe. We did not tell them at the time, but this was our post-elopement dinner, and we were hoping for something special. Aliment succeeded :-) Not only did I love the wine list, but I even got to geek out with the waiter. I used to work in the industry and knowledgeable, warm, approachable staff are the exception rather than the rule, so this was a delightfully unexpected treat. Everyone ordered different dishes and everyone was ecstatic- a tall order given the party. Thanks, Aliment, for making our special day even more memorable.

What stood out to me in addition to the great service and delicious food (enjoyed the gnocchi dish) is the lay out of the place. It is one of the few places in SF that you can actually have a conversation with your party and not feel like you are dining with the surrounding patrons. Love the different "spaces" created, there's an upstairs area, bar area, counter type seating looking out and several booths! Will definitely be back!

A nice, calm place with a fairly small menu, but good range of choices. There were 4 of us and 2 of us had the steak - both said it was fine. The others had the scallops and the chicken roulade. Both OK. Nothing really wrong, but the chicken was just a bit dried out and the things that came with the scallops were a bit of a salty mess.We ordered good wine, and had a great time, and the waitress was very nice. Overall, good but could have been better.

We had fun here. When I went in I wasn't really feeling perky but my husband wanted dinner. I had the pork chop, several martinis, wine, ricotta donuts with caramel and chocolate followed by several cubanos. Very positive experience. Cheeky waiter. My husband loved it too. I went from oppressed to happy.

Fantastic food! The place is a little hard to find but it has great food for a great price. Very impressed with their food and atmosphere.

Smaller comfortable space serving good cocktails with knowledgeable staff. Service was slow on the cocktails and the food came a bit too fast to really enjoy our conversation. Salmon was fine, interesting flavor though the brocollini could have been to the side not beneath the fish.

Arrived at Ailment full of hope and expectations.. left frustrated, disappointed and still hungry! I ordered Australian Barramundi whilst my fiancée ordered mussels with chorizo and fries. Simple enough..but in Ailment they managed to dry out a once delicious fish, whilst the mussels which was supposed to be with chorizo... but was served with a ground pork with herbs and garlic powder.. Guys Chorizo is made from garlic, pork, pork fat and paprika...Ailment this was not chorizo. On complaining to the waiter , we were joined by the head chef, who proceded to explain how he makes chorizo... sorry Buddy that ain’t chorizo. Sending back the Barramundi I replaced with a NY strip steak...thinking in the USA they know how to cook a steak to order, medium I requested. hang your head in shame chef, requested medium not cremated... so badly cooked was tempted to resole my boots.. Even the chef said it was as grey and tasteless as can be... 3 dishes ordered and each one was worse that the previous... needless to say will not be revisiting I hope they can improve all standard of cookery

We were staying close by Aliment while travelling and found this little gem randomly while doing our laundry across the road. Highly recommended. Beautiful food, great drinks and service.

Went here to celebrate my boyfriends 24th birthday. We had mentioned this in our booking but unfortunately there was no mention of it at any point during our dinner. Nevertheless, the food and vibe of this place were great and we definitely didn’t regret choosing this place. Burgers and salmon were good, so were home brewed beers. Lamb shank was a little on the fatty side.

Cute place in SFO downtown. Fresh and tasty food, nice background music and some Californian wine. The staff was very friendly too. Definitely going back when in SFO.

Aliment is a combination bar and restaurant that is clearly popular with the locals. Nice assortment of wines and beers, as well as unique cocktails. The menu leans toward healthy/vegetarian, although there are some chicken dishes and a burger that was delicious. The only negative was the very hard, and somewhat burned fries. Prices were reasonable for the area.

We came across this place on our walk back to our hotel near Bush and Taylor. I think this place is definitely a locals spot. We got there about a half hour before their busy period began. Friendly bar staff. The drinks were good and, yes, you should get the brussel sprouts. The food was really really good. Afterwards my wife was pondering her options on desserts and Chef came over personally and answered her questions. A memorable evening. We'll be back here for sure.

Stumbled onto Alimentary and liked the feel of the place, so grabbed a seat in the window and had a couple of drinks and a great meal, my wife choosing Salmon and me the Fried chicken and sharing a place of exceptional Brussel sprouts A great location for a very enjoyable dinner.

We struggled to get a memorable meal in our 8 days in SFO but luckily we stuck gold on our last evening. Directly across the road from where we were staying! Food was fantastic, staff attentive and friendly and the ambience was very memorable. The space is very on trend and reminded us of some of the great bars in Brooklyn and Manhatten we visited. Salmon was very tasty as were the mussels and fries. Would highly recommend and would return

Excellent new American restaurant. We were able to get a reservation for Saturday night, though the restaurant was quite busy. I had the best pork chop I've eaten in months.

Lovely, just lovely. Tasty, fresh fare with a quirky zing added. Airy, light, modern and the cleanest restaurant with the friendliest staff. Eric (the owner) gets the whole experience nailed, and the Brussel sprouts are not to be missed - exceptional, with a tiny Thai twist. Just go - you will not be disappointed.

We had dinner on our last night in San Francisco and were so delighted with the quality of the service and food. Even their cocktails were very different. The food was very fresh. For desert i had Cream Brulee with Basil and black rice.

We spotted this restaurant and even though we were very tired after a long haul flight, had a great meal here. It's a good place for casual dining for couples and groups (we had teenagers with us) with a cool and trendy atmosphere. We shared a variety of dishes and there was a good selection of wines. Good service. Recommended.

On my last business trip I had dinner at the bar. Given I was still on NYC time, at 5:30 I was well ready for dinner, which was still during their very generous Happy Hour. They have a pretty big menu of real food - not just bar snacks - at drastically reduced prices. I got a lovely big bowl of Mussels with an amazing Thai sauce and a side dish of roasted Brussel Sprouts. That and a couple of glasses of wine and a generous tip to a lovely bartender cost $40. Great value in a pricey city.

Easily the most hidden gem in Downtown San Francisco let alone in the city at all! Family owned for ten years!! Love this place!

fantastic service, friendly, helpful, perfect. Good food. Mushroom risotto very filling, comfort food. Salmon and quinoa with roasted veggies were beautiful and delish! Sat outside. Perfect!

Friendly staff and original, fresh and very good food (basil panna cotta was amazing!) in a nicely decorated room. Somewhat pricey but the quality of the dishes makes you forget that.

Wish mussels as good as these were to be found in Colorado! Awesome little place with a lot of locals and friendly atmosphere. Grabbed a spot at the bar, nice wine by the glass selection, and decided on the bowl of mussels as my main dish. A substantial portion arrived with more rich fresh flavor than I have ever had. So glad I took a bit of a risk beacause it’s served with shedded red cabbage on top of the best fren fries all covering a substantial bowl of mussels in a great broth. You can’t go wrong here!

Excellent happy hour from 5 to 7 Monday through Saturday and I stumbled in here and had a terrific beet salad with a beer. They have the windows open and you can watch the people go by in a very hip environment that is even child friendly.

Something about Aliment just didn't work for me and I can't say why. The menu has a variety of the usual new American items. The service is friendly and mostly efficient. The place has that semi-industrial style that can be found across the US. It's all good. Just not great. And maybe it's in that similarity to so many others places that Aliment fails. It never really stepped off the standard one expects of a big-city place with a big-city menu. I will say that my companions were happy with their meals and I was not unhappy with mine. Not sorry I went, wouldn't go back.

A nice selection of wines and cocktails. Small menu but great presentation and flavour. Ricotta gnocchi with pork belly was delicious. We stopped by on a Wednesday evening and were seated immediately.

We booked a table for four as we read quite good reviews of Aliment. This definitely was not the meal we expected. We ordered a bottle of wine, they ran out. They ran out of gnocchi and oh, they only had one barramundi dish left. OK... we ordered NY strips, which were nice. Unfortunately, the plates were stone cold, so by the time the mains were at the table the food was cold. Thankfully the desserts redeemed the restaurant somewhat.

Best non Michelin star restaurant visited in USA, across Vegas, Chicago and San Francisco. The vegetarian dishes we chose were awesome, the other dishes sounded great too but couldn't check them out. The staff is fully charged and ready to give good suggestions, they seem super kicked to work here and it reflects in the service levels.

Great little bar with exceptional food (try the brussel sprouts and pastrami slider). Happy hour specials are a plus with $5 small plates and $4 drafts. The bartender was extremely personable and welcoming. It's an awesome spot for a solo traveler to drop and meet fellow visitors and locals alike.

We ordered the salmon cakes (rather salty but very good), a kale salad that seemed to provoke swooning all around the table, the soup -- what was it? -- everyone loved it, and the mussels. Happy as we were, we ordered dessert anyway: home-made ice cream. The vanilla was outstanding; the pistachio not especially intense.

Best happy hours menu. Taco, wings, meatballs were really good. Everything on happy hours menu were tempting and worth the $$. Bar staffs were extra courteousand friendly. I went there twice in the same week, totally worth the track and climb up the hill

It wasn't busy & we wondered if we should go in. Brilliant! Good wine, nice combo of funky decor, great food, and one tv with basketball on. Burger was amazing. Lamb meatballs - spicy & delicious. Beet & kale salad...excellent. Highly recommend this place!

This was a decent option for us after a late arrival in San Francisco. Had higher hopes given some of the reviews and I must say the service was great. But the food was average at best. A couple of the dishes were much better described on the menu than delivered in person, including the Beet Salad which was mostly arugula and had a vinaigrette that was far too bitter. The Steakhouse burger was decent. Good enough for a quick bite but don't set high expectations for taste and you won't be disappointed. Again, service was great.

Dropped in during their happy hours (5-7pm), and got a great deal on the craft beers ($4 each). The bartender was very nice and friendly. We also ordered the chicken wings and house fries, which went great with the beer.

I was in town for a conference and looking for a place to go with our nephew who lives in town. The drinks and food was inventive and delicious. All the reviewers were right about the Brussels sprouts But we loved it all. The burger, the gnocchi ( very very rich) and the fried chicken. The service was fantastic and friendly. So happy we went

First class meal and service. The outdoor area is on the street with glass enclosed booths. Clean and tidy And very comfortable. Selection of dishes was amazing and we each tried something different. I highly recommend this restaurant

We were staying across the road in the White Swan and they recommended this retaurant to us. We arrived at about 6:55, but by the time we were seated it was a whisker after 7:00 so we were told 'Happy hour' was over! We too were upstairs and found it very noisy, a classic case of 'Style over substance'. Food was lackluster, and the 'Fries' which were 'Straw' style but cut from 'skin on' potatoes meant many were burnt to a frazzle; when we complained we were told that was the style - with the implied inference that if we were younger we would understand just how good they were! In fairness another portion was provided, but they were the same. Wine was very expensive, with virtually nothing under $50, which even by SF standards, is going it!

Food was okay, not too remarkable. The staff was very friendly and the menu had good choices. Good for the price.

We marched in the Million Women March on Jan.21, 2017 and there were 5 of us. We all loved the hotel. Parking just up the street....delicious breakfast...great location.....comfortable beds and cozy rooms......and all reasonable. We would stay there again without hesitation.

Food was off the charts delicious. I had the brussel sprouts and lamb sirloin and finished with the homemade apple/cinnamon/ginger ice cream. Would go again in a heartbeat.

Selected this place as it was close by the apartment I was staying in, ended up going back twice more! The food was very good, and staff was very friendly.

I'm not sure how I would classify this food. It says American faire but I'm not sure I agree. There were lots of seafood dishes and then some things you may recognize but with a twist like the Brussel sprouts with fish sauce or gnocchi with pork belly. If you are a little more adventurous I would say try it because everyone in my group liked what they ordered. I got the gnocchi and I didn't really like the pork belly in it. I also ordered a butter salad with jalapeños dressing and that was great. It's fun to try new things so why not? 🤷🏼♀️ the service was great. We told her up front that we had to split the check and she was grateful we told her before ordering and was very accommodating. The place looks small but has 3 floors and can accommodate big parties. There is no view so I feel like it's more of a locals spot. This would be a good choice for you if you are staying at the Stanford hotel or intercontinental but keep in mind if you walk that it's a short but steep climb uphill on the way back.

Was very good! Can't fault it at all.... Now where is the rest of the wind Hahahaha 100 characters needed is soooooooooo rubbish

Stopped in, as we were bar hopping. Ordered a couple of beers, and the mussels. They were very flavorful, and the price to proportion ratio was pleasing, as well.

Loved their happy hour. The place is lovely, the staff are very friendly & knowledgeable. The food is truly good.

We were lucky enough to score a table without a reservation on a Saturday night. We sat upstairs which was fine, but a little warm. Next time, we'd definitely be more organised and try to book a booth downstairs or score a seat at the lovely bar. We had two small plates and a burger between 2 of us which was a lot of food! The brussel sprouts and the mussels were the heroes of the day and had such wonderful, complex flavours. The burger was great too but the bun was quite hard and the it seemed to merit something softer. Small but perfectly formed selection of wines and pleasant service.

It was the last night of an impromptu trip to San Francisco with my two teenagers (15 and 18) and we were looking for something nice. My daughter picked Aliment because of the reviews and we were not disappointed. Right from the beginning the place was welcoming. The kitchen is open and everyone from the cooks to the waitresses were smiling and seemed happy. We were served by two sisters (by different mothers!) named Lilly and Sarah who were very friendly and provided excellent service. We had the mussels and Brussel sprouts (which were amazing) as well as pork chops and gnocchi. Everything was very flavorful. The bar tender had talent too and made some really unusual cocktails...maybe just a tad too far out there, We would happily go again next time we are in town.

Wonderful in every way. Cocktails were fabulous - we had the spice trail and the paloma. Food was also amazing - brussels sprouts appetizer, fried chicken sandwich, and salmon. Our waitress was perfect as well, and we sat in the lovely parklet outside. Will absolutely be returning.

It was our first meal after a long 16 hour flight! The food was so fresh and tasty, desert was phenomanal and the staff had the biggest smile plus the super cute bartender ☺️☺️

We went to Aliment because it was within walking distance to our hotel after a long day walking. We were not disappointed. Our server (Jeffery) was so friendly and helpful while we picked out our meals. I had the half chicken with fingerling potatoes and the beet salad. Both were prepared to perfection. The place also had a cozy atmosphere and we could tell there were locals that were there. We also had the creme brulee for desert and it was creamy and delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I enjoyed this restaurant and its bar. I just walked in after reading the menu outside. The service team was polite and attentive. The were genuine and sincere. I ate (and drank) from both the Happy Hour and the regular menu. The food was very good and it was presented well. The prices were reasonable. The open food preparation area evidenced a commitment to a clean and healthy environment. Overall, I enjoyed this place.

Cute trendy and clean restaurant . The service was great! We ordered the sea bass that came with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts and the rib eye special. The rib eye was ok but the sea bass was worth it! They said they have the best Brussels sprouts and they were right! The truffle fries with the rib eye was also amazing. Perfect amount of seasoning on the fries!

I typically skip reviewing places that I'd give less than an average rating, but just can't in this case. Aliment has a lot of potential that they just flub. It's a very cute, stylish spot with a decent buzz that maybe should just be a wine bar instead of a full blown restaurant. 4 of us had dinner the other night, and we all had a so-so to poor experience. First a nit - it annoys me when the online menu is nowhere close to the actual menu. Update it! I know it won't always be exact, and do not expect that but seeing 'Wild King Salmon' and 'Chicken Roulade' on the www sets an expectation. When we saw 'Smoked Salmon Cakes' and 'Korean Style Chicken' on the actual menu (among many other differences) we were disappointed. So among the 4 of us, we ordered the Brussels Sprouts, which were OK even though they were seasoned way too heavily with balsamic vinegar. The Chicken Wings just lacked anything inspiring, and we love chicken wings! They were very small, cooked fine, but just 'meh' as far as tantalizing the 'ol taste buds. We tried the Smoked Salmon Cakes, 3 panko breaded cakes. We ate 2 of the 3, there was nothing subtle about the smoke flavor and it was a bit over powering. And our friends both had the Ricotta Gnocchi. Neither of them had more than a couple bites. It arrived like a big glob of dough, not 'pillows of love' as they should be. And...it arrived cold. Our server, can't remember her name, was pleasant and attentive but, she served our friends cold food. So, unless I hear that they make some changes in the kitchen I wouldn't come back here, except to enjoy a glass of wine before dining somewhere else. There's too many good restaurants in this neighborhood to settle for 'meh'.

Really friendly people, muscles were nice, had 2 glasses of wine, liked both... Good place for a lite afternoon.

This place has a cool vibe and very good service. They also show sports on a large projected screen. Menu is a little bit limited but squash salad was nice! Worth the visit
SF Chic!
Returning to our hotel after a day sightseeing, we spotted this restaurant a block up from our hotel. As we were flying out late that night, we only had about 90 minutes available for dinner. This was not a problem for the staff. We were ushered upstairs to the mezzanine level, and we're seated in an intimate space, without feeling crowded. The wait staff were courteous, prompt, and very knowledgeable about the cuisine on offer. The menu was well balanced with selections; we enjoyed the chorizo curry muscles, scallops and a lamb dish. Washed down with a most enjoyable Zinfandel! The real treat was dessert - no menu was presented - the waiter advised what was on offer! We shared an amazing pannacotta on black rice!! We left on time, feeling great that we had experienced this piece of San Francisco chic! The restaurant was packed on this Monday night - that speaks volumes! Do it!!
