Had a very good breakfast. The pancakes were fluffy and tasty. The sausage and ham were very good as were the eggs. Only complaint would be the amount of gravy served for the biscuit, not hardly enough. The place was full of people and everyone seemed happy.

The owner of the cafe is a violent and racist person who grabbed my son by the arm and shouted at him just because he moved a chair to sit closer to his brother. Immediately after that he approached my husband and told him to leave aggressively, threatening to call the police. When we asked him for explanations of his attitude, he went crazy and called the police. The funny thing is they made us pay for the drinks we ordered but we could not take them. Should I call the police ...? Do not go there!!

Popular with Locals also. Breakfast menu huge. Food comes out quick and tasty. Priced for area. Service was great and all the wall memorabilia is worth exploring. This is the "Cool" place to be seen and bring friends.

Just stopped by on a whem. Was very pleasantly surprised. Variety of food items. Their "kale yeah" salad was a real surprise. I loved it. Sandwich (grilled chicken club) was large enough to take half of it home. Their honey mustard style dressing is awesome. Would love to try their breakfast sometime. If you're in the Deep Ellum area check it out.

Restaurant was not crowed - this should have been a clue. We were at Allgood on a Saturday and the other restaurants in Deep Ellum were busy. Older gentleman working at Allgood was rude and bossy. Perhaps the worst customer service experience we have had in the past year or two. With so many outstanding choices in the neighborhood - do not waste your time or money going to Allgood. Allbad is what you may experience.

We are foodies and avid fans of Guy Fieri, Adam Richman and anyone that seems to love food as much as we do! We searched TV Food Maps and heard about All Good Cafe. We were not disappointed! The breakfast was gargantuan, very tasty and totally satisfying. I didn't eat anything else that entire day - it was that much food! Great atmosphere, very quick service and a courteous waitress. Wonderful!

On one hand, it was quite expensive for a chicken fried steak. With no extras it cost me $15. On the other hand it was one of the best chicken fried steaks I've had in a long time. The crust was very tender and flaky and the meat was delicious. I would give it a thumbs up, and recommended it.

Had a fun time Friday night with new and old friends at All Good Cafe. Had the opportunity to hear a wonderful local band, Black Dirt Tango. They were fun, talented, and eclectic. A must see! The service and food were ALL GOOD. I highly recommend a visit when in town. Nice flavor Dallas and the local music scene.

Nice cozy down to earth cafe wonderful breakfast menu and not to forget to mention pancakes- we got pecan !!! I had the 3 eggs omelette with mushrooms and spinach and pepper jacks! Their Bloody Mary was wonderful!

I had the fried chicken it was tuff,I asked for a tea and never received it. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Known as a venue for live music, they have a very nice menu with good to very good food as well. They say the chicken fried steak is the best in the world, but I have had better. It was good though. The green beans were fresh and perfectly sautéed and the mashed potatoes were "killer" as it says on the menu. My wife said her large salad with shrimp and chicken was very good and the homemade dressing was excellent.

Killer pancakes! Mexican breakfasts "Austin, Texas" style. Laid back atmosphere...great value for those on a budget. May have to "wait" a bit to get a table...Lots of dinner and lunch specials that depend on locally available ingredients..so, menu has a variety of special that change frequently. Basic chow - not high brow!

We have been here several times. Always during "off hours" so it has never been crowded. I have a go to order of the lobster stuffed avacado. Every time it has been incredible. My spouse has had most everything on the menu and raves about it all. The tea is fresh brewed and served with a lot of ice. Very Texas! :) The folks who serve are friendly and ready to help. The vibe is artsy and laid back, and a favorite of the locals. I like it very much.

This restaurant I would describe as eclectic and laid back . Has older decor with the best best food ever! The food was served fast and delicious! We took an Uber from Sheraton Convention hotel to this diner based on a recommendation and we were so happy with the outcome we want everyone to go. The staff was friendly and prices perfect. My only wish is fountain soda versus so many cans. Thanks for a delicious breakfast!

On a suggestion by a friend, and comments I have heard about this place, decided to give it a try. Well first impression not great at all, when there is only one customer in the whole restaurant, only 2 waitstaff on duty, AND one of them is eating not to far from the front door!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The atmosphere is laid back, lots of rock and roll posters from days gone by, and recently. You do not get the same waitstaff twice, if they gave more attention to the paying customers as opposed to say their phone, twitter, facebook, needing to be relevant on the internet, the opinion was be much more uplifting!!! Wife and I both had the #2 farm fresh eggs, she had the peppered bacon, I had the bacon and sausage, with buttermilk pancakes. Pancakes were a true delight, sausage has a nice flavor to it, and the bacon was tasty. our 3 coffee services were as follows 1. kinda hot, 2 room temp 3 finally hot coffee. Never asked how was the food, anything else I can get you, any questions, Why are you here etc. If you think your job is beneath you, then your above doing it well.

Husband and I wanted to get some chicken fried steak, and found this place online. The chicken fried steak is the best we've had in quite some time. The mashed potatoes were very creamy (were made with cream cheese). This is going to be our chicken fried steak place when ever we are in the DFW area!

Before seeing a live show here I called and asked how much the cover would be. After several minutes of waiting the employee says "not sure...5-10 dollars max." After arriving at the venue, ordering and hanging out for over an hour, we were approached by Mike who evidently owns the place. He sticks a bucket in my face and says "20 bucks a piece guys" I calmly explained that a little heads up on the cost of the show would be nice and that I called as well as checked the website for a cover charge and nothing was posted. He then raises his voice and becomes very rude to myself and my party. At this point all 8 customers were looking at our table and I decided that the music is what I'm here for and this jerk wasn't going to keep me from a good time. After Mike finished embarrassing his customers and casting a weird vibe across the room, another patron approached us and expressed the same frustration. The point wasn't the money, the manner in which we were approached and treated was unacceptable and extremely classless. Unfortunately I won't be back to the Allgood Cafe no matter the music artist or event.

This place is the crem de la crem in Deep Ellum. Wholeheartedly recommended for any meal. Their bacon is amazing. So many fresh ingredients and excellent menu items, you cannot go wrong, and the place just has a sweet bohemian vibe that suits me.

Best chicken fried steak, wonderful vegetables, scone-like biscuits. Fun to see a band here, although it can get pretty loud, depending on the type of music played. Some of my favorite people in the world are associated with this place, and Mike Snyder always makes one feel welcome.

We went for dinner yesterday. I should have known since the breakfast is all anyone talks about. Do not go for dinner. We tried the goat cheese ravioli app and it was ok. The best thing about the meal was it happened to be 1/2 price wine bottle night. The sandwiches are fine, but the bbq shrimp is not good and the chicken fried steak that everyone raves about is really NOT GOOD!

Local ingredients, great weekend breakfast or lunch place.

The place is small but decorated with all types of signs and origami things hanging from the ceiling. Food was fair. Needed seasonings for sure. Large portion sizes a little noise but we were there mid day so it was busy. The floors we worn but the cleaned them as best as they could. Vegetarian meals available.

Like the ambiance more than the food, I must say.

If you're in Deep Ellum and don't go to AllGood, you've missed a gem! The name says it all. Honest to goodness, EVERYTHING on the menu at AllGood is amazing. I eat there a couple of times, if not more, a week, because I am routinely disappointed at other restaurants but never at AllGood. This place takes their food seriously. It is all high quality and well cooked food. The chicken fried steak is one of the best I've ever had, and the pancakes are THE best I've ever had. The Main Street salad is amazing, and the Truck Stop sandwich is gluttonously divine. If there for dinner, try the filet of sole. Their tartar sauce has a nice kick and a bit of a tang due to the capers. The owner is a jolly guy who will come over and talk to the patrons, and the waiters and waitresses are nice too, although the all seem to beat to a different drum. They're all quite "hipster." This place prides itself on being set apart in all the ways it can. Heck, their motto is, "It's like going Austin without having to pass through Waco."

Good coffee, very friendly relaxed atmosphere, home style cooking (in human portions) and free wi-fi. All sorts of people come to this uber-casual place, from conservative folks to pink haired people and hungry bikers. It's a people-watching fiesta for sure. The wait staff if friendly and informal and its very inexpensive. Haven't been at night, but there is a stage that hosts live music three times a week. This place reminds me a bit of Austin in some ways. http://www.allgoodcafe.com/index.php

Is this restaurant good to any body out there mytaiza check yes or no

Had a late lunch with friends. Food was really good, Chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and fresh squash was as good as I have ever eaten. The ultimate B.L.T is a can't miss and the roast chicken was devoured. Price was reasonable. We will definitely be back. Highly Recommended.

Food was good, we stopped for breakfast. Place has a real laid back Tex Mex feel. We had mexican food, but the pancakes looked amazing!! We were in the area and will not be back because of the parking situation. If you cant park right in front, to where you can see your vehicle, dont stop. The parking lot folks will come boot your car! This is not a city issue, as these are private lots. You are fine if you park at a city meter. Even if a friend wants to pay for the whole day... When they leave you jabe to pay for the same day! It is not right, but its a free country. That is why Deep Ellum will not get anymore of my money. Maybe that is why there were not very many shoppers and patrons down there.

Ever since I saw this establishment on Bacon Paradise on the Travel Network, I knew I had to go there, and it was everything that I expected, outstanding food, great service, collective environment, wonderful price point and “Killer Bacon”. I am a farm kid who raised his own hogs for show as well as for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and no one has ever come close to the bacon which I grew up on except this restaurant nice and thick and just the right amount of pepper with a hint of smoke flavor. The other thing that I enjoyed about this restaurant was the sizes of the portion if you can eat more than two pancakes I am scared of you, me and wife took a small table and there was barely enough room for our plates that was filled with food. While in Dallas you must take a trip down to Deep Ellum, and visit the All Good Café, and try the Chicken Fried Steak, with a Mimosa. Side note parking is free until 6pm, so don’t worry about the meter.

A full restaurant at breakfast time on a Sunday morning is a very good sign. The food at the Allgood cafe is, well all good. I had Heuvos rancheros and it was great. Coffee flowed freely and the staff were excellent. The decor is very "cafe" and rustic but the atmosphere is family and friendly. I would recommend if you are in Dallas for breakfast then pay a visit. A stroll around the farmers market afterwards is good fun.

I'm not sure what some reviewers were expecting but this was my second visit here, and the food was good once again. I expect this type of fare in this neighborhood and I was not disappointed. I recommend Allgood Cafe!

If you like "Texas" cooking, some Tex-Mex Nachos/queso & chips, and basic garden veggies then this might be a spot to check out. But, watch out for the totally rude manager who is insanely paranoid about people stealing one of his only 10 menus in the entire restuarant! We were trying to order a meal to go and I asked for menu, so that we could place an order for a family member seated outside the restuarant. The old gray haired manager went bullistic! He refused to let me have a menu (which I would have quickly returned to him) to assist in placing the "to go" order. Really? Aren't you trying to sell food? Apparently, he's trying to protect his menus from customers. He told us to consult his website to view his menu. Really, while we are at the restuarant we need to surf the website to get a menu? His wait staff tried apologizing for their boss' behavior - how pathetic is that? Sadly, we managed to place an order for a To-Go meal and when we got home - the order was all wrong, as in not what we ordered at all! Was this just revenge of the manager because we wanted to order with a menu? Very strange experience! Never experienced anything like this at any restuarant. Also, advertised band/ live music for the evening - was a no-show! Restuarant was pretty empty for a Thursday night...wonder why?

My wife and I visited the Allgood to see a performer we enjoy named Joel Ansett. We came early to have dinner and enjoy the show. The environment is is very "down home". The plates of food were huge and tasty, also "down home." The sound system is decent and line of sight of the performer is good for the entire restaurant. But, remember, this is a restaurant, first, and not a listening room. A loud table of eight was behind us and rather distracting. At least they were near the back of the restaurant.

Allgood Cafe is a staple of Deep Ellum. Nice little cozy cafe with breakfast served all day! The grilled cheese is the best!

We found this place on Yelp and went in for breakfast right at opening time. We had pancakes and an omelette and everything was very good. By the time we left, the place was 90% full. Plan accordingly.

Great peppered bacon. Great sausage. Great breakfast. I wish it was open before 9am.

Good, honest food (chicken fried chicken, Frito pie and Mac n Cheese), big portions, friendly service. THE best mash ever.

Decided to come here based on "world's best chicken fried steak" reviews. I had the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. Highly recommend the green beans! Garlic butter flavor with just the right crunch. The batter was delightful and crunchy. The chicken was moist and flavorful. Mashed potatoes were the right much of creamy and chunky bits of potatoes with a hint of garlic. We didn't stay for the live music. The wait staff were friendly and attentive, hut not overly hovering. Food came out timely and hot. We will be back to try some of the other offerings. I hear breakfast is amazing!

Mom and I went for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We each got the breakfast sandwich. It is good and has a tabasco mayo which gives it a little kick. It is a little light on the meat part of it so we had to order a side of bacon so we had a good amount of bacon on both halves of our sandwich. (we asked to substitute bacon for the sliced ham-I would say increase the price a dollar and put more meat on the sandwich). We also got a pancake for our breakfast dessert that was very good. It's a cute place, with great atmosphere and awesome servers. We will keep going back.

Slow service and strange attitude on wait staff, different people serve you so nobody takes responsibility for the service. Too much sage and salt used in the food. Can be very salty. I go because my friends want to go there but after 5 times and the same terrible service, poor food quality I'm done. It's a no go!

Bacon! Deep Ellum Breakfast. Yes Please. This joint has some great dishes including the famous bacon. Find yourself close to Deep Ellum in the breakfast hour, take a shot at AllGood Cafe.

Great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner after seeing the sights in Dallas. One of those places that are just fun...not a chain...so the staff and food are genuine. Great for people watching, it's definitely not on the beaten path...find yourself out of the norm and enjoy the locals. Downtown district near the main sights. They have entertainment at night and serve beer and wine. We were there for breakfast so not sure about the evening scene however I think it's probably a lot of fun! Maybe we'll go for dinner next visit!

Pretty good little breakfast spot. I would recommend the tacos. The potatoes were also delicious but the omelet was just mediocre. Coffee was a little burnt but adding some cream and sugar made it better.

Food is all good, buy one entree get one free on Tuesday nights. Sometimes they have live bands. I like the chicken fried steak and the steak. You can't really go wrong here.

This place's decor is on the grungier side of eclectic and so was some of the wait staff. The guy who sat us and brought our drinks had black under his fingernails and visible grime on his arms. He also had long hair that wasn't pulled back. The staff was pleasant but many of them seemed unkempt and some of their personal hygiene appeared questionable which made me a little nervous about the food. However, I ordered the breakfast sandwich and it was everything I ever dreamed of.

While it may not be exactly a "farm to table" restaurant, the owners do take pride in using local vendors and ingredients. I had a 3-egg omelet ("western" type), but it was served with a little flare -- the bell peppers were not only green, but red as well adding both color and additional taste. It was served perfectly - not easy to do when cooking on a grill. It was not dry and the eggs were not scorched as so often happens. Various cheeses, meats, and veggies can be selected to customize to your taste. the omelet was served with fantastic hash browns -- not simple hashbrowns, of course, but potato wedges which had been cooked with onion and roasted garlic -- delicious! Nothing about the restaurant is ordinary -- that's what made it fantastic.

This place was right up the street from where we lived so i have been there for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks and can say that they serve good food at good prices and most evenings they have a band playing so it's a nice vibe. I loved their avocado guacamole!!!

Went just to see a singer but ended up finding a great Texas dinner, plus a 2nd up and coming singer. The chicken fried steak was classic Texas fare highlighted by real hand-breaded steak, not that chopped pre-formed stuff we were raised on in school cafeterias. Rest of the meal was great too and there's not a bad seat in the house for a show. We came halfway through the opening act and found out that, if you're nice to your waitress and ask nicely, you can end up front and center for the singer that you came to see if a group leaves. Great food, great music, great night.

Me and my wife went for Sunday early brunch had a 10 min wait food was delicious I had sausage, eggs and pancakes she had chickn fried steak breakfast, pancakes are nice size and fluffy

We visited the little restaurant in Deep Ellum a few years ago. We ordered breakfast and waited and waited and waited. Finally they came out and said they were out of eggs - so we ordered pancakes and were told they were no longer serving breakfast! So I went back today - the restaurant is somewhat close to home, casual dress and is suppose to have good breakfast...I got there at 9:30 on a Saturday morning. There seems to be an attitude there - maybe it's their DMA, maybe it's the hippy wanna-be wait staff, maybe its just Deep Ellum. When I walked in there was a line waiting for tables, and I could count about a dozen empty tables. The wait staff was hanging around the register - totally ignoring the growing line at the door. When one of the staff got near I asked if we needed to give someone our name for the waiting list, "No, come get you when we can." After a half hour I was seated (at a table that was empty when I came in), 10 minutes later I got coffee, 10 more minuted and I got a menu, 10 more minutes and someone took my order. A full 30 minutes later (mind you there was no more than eight tables with people in the entire place) I finally received cold eggs, tough pancakes and frozen butter. I was able to find some syrup on one of the other tables. When I was in college I worked part time in restaurant. A marketing professor told me, "People with put up with poor service to get good food, but bad food will overrule any good service." Will I go back - no. Do I recommend the cafe - no. I wonder how they stay in business...I suspect they cater to the slacker generation that doesn't know you can get better food and service at better restaurants.

First time here based on recommendations from Food Channel. Wow.. the food was delicious!! The chicken fried steak was homemade and outstanding. Also came to try what this place is famous for... the bacon. Ordered the BLT, and it did not disappoint. Tremendously good. The atmosphere was great..they had a two person group playing blue grass music. It was very nice. Oh...also had the chocolate sheet cake. It was out of this world!!! The service was fantastic... very friendly and attentive. Not one detail was overlooked. We were pleasantly surprised!!!

fresh local food, pretty good but not awesome

Great Migas and good feel

I had Sunday breakfast in the Allgood Cafe, and as other reviewers have noted, the atmosphere was casual and friendly. It took a little while to be seated, to the extent that I wasn't sure if I was doing something wrong and should just take a table; this went on such that I was the only person in the queue at the start, and by the time someone approached me, there were 5 groups behind me. I'm pleased to say this was the only lapse by the otherwise efficient staff. I had the huevos rancheros, which was very tasty; eggs done just as I had asked for them, with a delicious sauce. The decor and atmosphere is in-keeping with the Deep Ellum area - very arty and pretty rustic. I'm not a hipster, but I'm sure if I was, I would feel very comfortable here; with that said, the crowd at the time I visited was very family-oriented, and I didn't see much in the way of hipsters. I would certainly recommend visiting for some good food and a relaxing mean, though I probably wouldn't entertain clients here.

great chicken fried steak ... one of the best in dallas. lackluster service.

All Good CAfe is a great brunch place. All their food is fresh and taste great. Although sevice is sometimes slow.

They have the best pancakes in town either plan or with blueberries. And check out the origami hanging from the ceiling as well.

Being from Dallas, we have made it a tradition to come here every Sunday morning. We love the food, the but the service is usually horrid. More often than not the servers seem to have to logical section or system and we are quite often ignored. Once we were sat on the patio and we watched our server walk right past us several times - seeing us with menus, but never stopped to get our order until we physically stopped him and told him we wanted to order. Recently, we had come by and stood around waiting for a table along with several others while staring at several empty tables sitting there. It didn't seem anyone was assigned to seat people, so the waitresses just stuck to their tables. We were finally sat, our order taken and food came out. And then - that was it. Never saw the waitress for the longest time. My girlfriend's tea had run out and no matter how many times we tried to flag the server down, she never looked up. I finally had to stop her at the kitchen entrance and ask her to bring us more tea. She then "did us a favor" by taking the charges for the drinks off, but I find to come out today when I got home that she had run our credit card through TWICE and double charged our meal!!! Now I'm trying to get in touch with the manager who seems to constantly be out "doing something" and won't return my calls. It's sad because this place has such great food, but the horrible service overshadows everything else. I really want to support business in Deep Ellum, especially with quality product, but the manager seems completely disinterested in trying to train or improve his staff. We told him that first time (one of the few times we've seen him) about the bad service and he just said, "I will look into it." - that's it. We wrote him an email at his contact information as well - no reply of course.

My husband and I had breakfast here and it was delicious!!! It's near downtown and not far from the interstate. We had pancakes with fresh fruit, roasted potatoes, homemade biscuit with eggs and sausage. Everything was made with love! This place is a must try if you're in the Dallas area!

Group of 6 for breakfast. I had breakfast #2 @ advice of server. It didn't disappoint. Huge servings & good attentive service

An excellent place for a breakfast. Good chicken fried steaks and excellent huevos rancheros. Excellent friendly service.

We went here for breakfast when in town for a concert. We had heard great things about the bacon. This restaurant did not disappoint. They were quite busy on a Sunday morning but we got a table quickly and had good service. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very cool. The pancakes with strawberries were great as was the rest of the food. We sat inside, but there were lots of people enjoying the weather in the outdoor seating area. It was a bit loud in the restaurant which makes it perfect if you are eating with children.

We came here for the Austin type atmosphere & their eccentric style. Enjoyed the food for the most part. Got the breakfast #1. The peppered bacon was excellent, but the biscuit was ok. It had good flavor but was dry. I wouldn't recommend coming here for biscuits & gravy. Although, the gravy was good. Just need alot of it to cover that biscuit!

I went with a group of 3 on a Tuesday night. It was not crowded. Service was timely. I ordered the jumbo shrimp with corn off the cob and "slaw". The shrimp was good, corn was very good. The slaw was just diced cabbage with vinegar I think. I hated it. Chairs have stuffing coming out of the backs; our table was wobbly. Nothing special that I could find about this cafe.

Saw the reviews on google maps and the restaurant was close by. I had the chicken fried steak and it was delicious. I also had mashed potatoes and green beans. Also very delicious. The portion was generous. The staff was attentive. All in all good visit and I would go again if in the area.

Neat little, retro-hippie vibe cafe. Good food, good service!! Not a huge selection for late afternoon diners.... But, great breakfast menu and it's clean!!!!

I can't believe it is in the 600's for Dallas Restaurants. This place BLEW ME AWAY!! We went on a Saturday morning. We were able to find parking right outside the restaurant. The parking meters are free before 6pm, so don't worry about that. Even though the place seemed packed, we were given a table almost immediately. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon. It was literally the best breakfast I have ever eaten. I could go there for breakfast everyday and not get tired of it. I will be going back many times in the future! I also liked the feel of the place. It had a very "Austin" look about it. Yall know what I mean ;)

Located in the cool, funky artsy district of Dallas, this is a great place for a fun, delicious, casual family dine. The breakfast menu is awesome. Real down home cooking with ingredients locally sourced. Great service, welcoming and friendly, cool, casual decor. Catch live music on select evening.

Do yourself a favor and eat here. AllGood is consistently the best breakfast (and lunch and dinner too) in Dallas. Great staff and ambiance too.

AllGood Café has been on my restaurant bucket list for some time. I was glad to have the opportunity to try it. We arrived right before the rush and I am glad we did because the line grew quickly. I loved the thrown together interior. The origami pieces floating from the old ceiling tiles were inviting and lively. All the framed posters and signage were colorful and interesting. We were seated but it took a bit before our server appeared and took our drink order. He seemed flustered. We ordered and waited. He returned with our drinks. The coffee was weak. Not a good start. My daughter ordered the chicken-fried steak. It looked tasty. but not so much. The breading pulled away from the steak making it impossible to get a perfect bite. They were a little skimpy with the gravy and it had too much flour and not enough seasoning. Mashed potatoes were meh. Thankfully the green beans were fresh and crispy. I ordered the Breakfast #2 – two eggs, pancakes and peppered bacon. My eggs were cooked to my liking – over medium. Peppered bacon? Yes, please. It was cooked crisp and chewy. Too bad the pancakes did not live up to the rest of the plate. They were dense and tasteless. I tried to make it work with the syrup and butter, but no luck. The entire meal was hit and miss. Sad to say AllGood Café was NOT all good.

After seeing this restaurant on a couple of TV shows we were excited to try this place. What a mistake. After having to stand outside due to them not being ready to open on time, I should have known. Coffee was good and potatoes were good, but that was it. They were supposed to have this outstanding bacon, nope. Could have gotten better at Kroger. Biscuits were so dense that they seemed stale. Not a place I will return to.

This was a fun place we ended up after being turned away when the Pecan Lodge ran out of barbeque. The blueberry pancakes were very good. The blueberries tasted just picked. They served mimosas, which were nice. I got the peppercorn bacon, which admittedly was a little slice of heaven, although I thought $3.99 was a little high for just 2 pieces. The wait staff seemed to care, and they were very real. The whole experience was a rockabilly slice of life. Yeah, I'd probably go back.

The place seemed super hip upon entering, but we noticed tha tthe decor was mostly posters for concerts in Austin. Thus, it seemed that the place offered more of an Austin vibe than a Dallas vibe. We asked the hostess a question upon entering the All Good Cafe and she gave us a funny look, ignored our question, and told us "go sit over there." She gave us odd looks while we ate our guacamole and had a few drinks. She didn't seem unfriendly or rude, but just strangely spacey, and she stared at us quite a bit. Our waitress was nice and the guacamole was good, but we found it strange that the hostess kept checking in with us in addition to the waitress. We were planning to order more food, but the weird vibe was too much for us & we decided to get out of there.

After seeing the Travel Channel show, my husband and my son wanted to taste their bacon, so we drove all the way to downtown.. the place was packed but the wait was not too long. It was very casual and relaxing ambience and the music was just right.. the pancakes were big and fluffy and food was very fresh.. The service was pretty fast and efficent..

Super friendly staff and great menu. We loved the amazing buttermilk pancakes, “pepper bacon” and real maple syrup. Great area to walk around after breakfast. Highly recommend.

If you are in Dallas and are looking for a Down-home good brunch (not weird things like goat cheese waffles) then go to AllGood Cafe! Cool atmosphere and excellent food!!! Best sourdough toast!!!

Terrific place for lunch!

They advertise having the best chicken-fried steak in Dallas, and I have to admit that I was surprised at just how good it was. They were a bit stingy with the gravy, but it was quality chicken fried steak, cooked to perfection, served with beautiful, creamy mashed potatoes and, also perfectly cooked fresh petite green beans. We ordered biscuits and extra gravy. The meal was delicious, and there was a special on the night that we went, so it wasn't expensive at all. My only reservation about the place is that it is located in a seedy area of downtown Dallas, and I was glad that we were not there on the weekend, because it looked like they normally have it pretty loud and possibly raunchy entertainment on the weekends, based on the advertisements that were posted on all the windows. Another downside is that we had to park in a paid parking lot (only a block away), which only cost $5.00 all night. The problem was that the machine was extremely slow to process, so we stood in line for a good 15 minutes in the summer heat, waiting to pay for parking. It was still a fun place to try, and the food was delicious.

This place came very highly recommended, so we gave it a try for breakfast. The food was wonderful (we got the breakfast tacos and WOW), and mimosas. How cool is that? Adorable little place nestled in Deep Ellum!

I live in Dallas for a while, and the all good was a regular guaranteed good time! a slice of true Texan cooking. We were back for a business trip recently and it's still as good as ever. If you are there for breakfast try the pancakes and bacon or the Austin migas, for dinner go for the chicken fried steak! All fresh local ingredients. If there is live music expect to pay a cover ($5-10) but this goes directly to the band. Oh, and $2 mimosas at the weekend!

This place has been in Deep Ellum for years. I have been here many times. A solid choice for home style breakfast and great chicken fried steak. My only complaint that keeps them from 5 stars is no fried okra. How can a Texas restaurant serving chicken fried steak not have fried okra?!

We were just looking for a casual spot to have a quick dinner in Deep Ellum, and ended up here. It is clearly a laid-back place. The service and food turned out to be fairly laid back as well. We were not particularly happy with our meals, nor with the server's inattention. By reading the other reviews here now, I see that this place is known primarily for its breakfasts, and for its live music shows in the evenings. I'd recommend that you not come here expecting a good dinner.

this place advertises the best chicken fried steak in the world (if memory serves). it is pretty good. it is a good breakfast place, but the servers often times act like they are pissed off that they have to serve you. never been there in the eve, but has live music

Had breakfast with my family. The service was courteous and fairly quick. The Migas was outstanding - thought would have loved some more meat in the eggs . The pancakes were fantastically fluffy and delicious. Surprisingly and sadly no waffles - so pancakes were the only veg option on the menu. Good place to brunch on a spring morning

Great breakfast. I had the Allgood breakfast tacos (eggs, cheese, avacado, black beans, side of watermelon.) Mimosa :) My husband had the more traditional breakfast #2. Fun atmosphere. We would love to go back for dinner & entertainment. Origami hanging from ceiling, fun pictures & posters on wall. Desserts looked yummy also. Disappointed they were out of their t-shirts though!

This may be my favorite low key restaurant in Dallas. Everyone is SO FRIENDLY, they use all local products (Farmer's Market etc), and the food is unreal. Their migas (Mexican breakfast) are the best I've ever had in my life, and don't miss the Goat Cheese Ravioli (which frequently runs out cause it is THAT good). I think I have been here once a week for the last year, and rarely a weekend goes by when I don't head there for brunch. Also, props for supporting the local music scene.

We made a special trip on the advice of a unnamed source to make time to eat at The All Good. Service was not bad. They were attentive and friendly. The food however was lack luster. They were out of the fried black bean ravioli, and do not offer the veggie quesadilla on weekends? Disappointing. I settled for chili which was ok. My associate had the chicken fried steak which he claims was not very good, adding to the fact they never brought him a pancake included in the dinner. All Good... Not Good.

You must make the time to drive into Deep Ellum and eat at this cafe! The food is awesome. I prefer breakfast here and have never been disappointed. I always my my breakfast with a Modelo michelada. 🍻.

First, I will state that most of the food was pretty darn good. I had the breakfast tacos with avocado, pepperjack cheese, and added chorizo and they were delicious. The black beans which came with the meal were very undercooked, however, and were so hard that they were inedible. We went for brunch on a Sunday morning and had to wait 15 minutes for a table. No problem. It was pretty hot waiting outside so I thought getting our table and sitting down would be a welcome experience. We were seated near the thermostat, which read 86 degrees INSIDE. It was miserable. We were sweating while eating, which is just gross. At one point, an employee walked up to the thermostat and attempted to adjust it and just threw his hands in the air and walked away. The servers were ridiculously slow in refilling our waters, took 25 minutes to bring a mimosa because she "forgot", and then were rude to me when I asked where we needed to pay. They brought the check, left it in the middle of the table and never came back. When I asked where we pay, she said that she kept coming back to check, but I never set it out like I was ready. How about you come to the table, where we all have empty waters in your 86 degree restaurant and ask if we need anything? Maybe then you would see that our credit cards were sitting there and we were waiting to pay the entire time.

Went here after a day at the State Fair. Good food, good service, good beer and wine selections, good prices, and good location. Grab a window seat if you can.

The atmosphere was great! The service was great! The food was good not great!! Overall good experience. I would definitely go back.

We called ahead as we had a group of 10 coming in. They don't take reservations but had a table all set up for us. We had a great dinner. I had chicken fried steak. It was delicious. The batter was light, did not have a heavy fried taste. My husband had the salmon and said it was very good. Definitely recommend.

Good food, good music.

love this place the food is always fresh and good but it gets hot in there no AC so go early or after the sun goes down

Sweet location with delicious food!!! Wait staff greetedd us with southern hospitality as we entered. Great suggestion for breakfast from staff at Home 2 Suites hotel!!

Of all the days to be humiliated, it was on my birthday on Jan 28. And of all people, it was from this rude, obnoxious, old goat owner of this place, Mike Schneider. Me and my buddy went to celebrate my birthday in Deep Ellum and saw this establishment. We saw that they have a band playing that time and thought might be a good place to have dinner while listening to good music and as soon as we went in, the old goat approached us and gave us 2 options, either watch the show and pay $20 each or order food. So we ordered food worth almost $40. I wonder why he kept looking at us and found out he was waiting for us to finish our food to approach us. Once the waitress took my plate, this old goat approached us and asked us if we are going to continue watching the show which I think it was about to conclude. He said if we are going to stay and watch the band performing that night, we still have to pay $20 each which we find it absurd since we already spent $40 for the food and about to order few more drinks as we planned to stay. He started talking to us in a loud voice and like scolding 2 kids. The band finished their song while this old goat was talking to us loudly and other people were staring at us. We decided to leave even I still have a half filled beer. We couldn't be in a place that we felt we were not welcomed. This old man doesn't deserve our money! The obnoxious old Mike Schneider should not be even talking to clients as he lacked class and the proper way to talk to people. In the middle of our dinner, I think he shooed away 6 persons as soon as he approached them. Two waitresses were busy and our waitress was very attentive to us. She was the one who apologized for what happened. We gave her tip as she deserved that for being a good server. I would not recommend this establishment to a friend or anyone while it is still owned by this obnoxious and probably uneducated old goat. He lacks the ability to communicate with his customers. No class at all! To all who will read this, find a restaurant that will treat you with respect and not rip you and treat you unkindly.

If you are into matching china, cookie-cutter wait staff, and quiet breakfast--this is not the place for you! If you enjoy delicious food, fluffy huge pancakes, delicious coffee, and well prepared breakfast tacos, this place will not disappoint. The walls are covered in old framed posters, the portions are plentiful, and the wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Two people in our party have food allergies, but they quickly worked with us to avoid our allergens. Refills were a bit slow, but the place was packed--with a line waiting to be seated.

After seeing this place during a outing we decided to stop in on a Sunday morning for breakfast. As we tried to find free parking I questioned our desire to try it. We ended up paying for parking but since we had other plans in downtown we stayed. Walking in, it was loud and busy. As soon as someone got up, the table was seated. Good menu choices. Breakfast was excellent. Was it worth it? Yes, by far best breakfast I have had in a restaurant in a long time.

Awesome brunch spot. An eclectic hipster diner with with food that makes it worth it.

fun neighborhood hang out, cheap beer

Night club, not there anymore I think

great chicken fried steak. service is pretty bad.

We had Sunday brunch here this past weekend and really liked it. They had a special on Mimosas and nice outdoor seating. Their pancakes were THE BEST pancakes I think I have ever tasted and their peppered bacon is unbelievable. My husband tried their breakfast dish "The Hat Trick" and he thought it was great - hearty with the right amount of kick to it. It is definitely a different crowd than we normally see at breakfast at say, La Madeline's, but it was a lot of fun. I think it must be the place to cure a good hangover, too, since there were several people that didn't look like they'd been to bed, yet. Ha!

High expectations - disappointing outcome. I, like a lot of others, visited this place base on previews from the travel channel. ************** IT WAS NOTHING LIKE I EXPECTED! ********************* The décor sucks, but I did not go there for the décor. The bacon however was met with high expectations and I was very disappointed. I flew to DFW from Miami on Saturday 4-28-12, rented a car and drove straight to AllGood Cafe. I ordered the #1 - which included 2 eggs, bacon (famous ), potatoes and a biscuit for $6.99 (coffee extra $). Based on a brief conversation with my waitress, she asked if I was visiting because of the travel channel and I of course stated yes. One would think that if a business understands that you’re a first time customer, they would provide you with their best. NOT – the bacon was average sliced and greasy (yes I know bacon can be greasy, this bacon was GREASY), potatoes were ok and eggs are eggs. For the part of town this restaurant is located in and the lack of effort in the décor – the value was NOT THERE. Service however was ok. People, THERE WAS NOTHING, ABSOULTLY NOTHING SPECIAL ABOUT THEIR BACON. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME, go to Denny’s and order their $4 grand slam with bacon and save $2.99

I left the airport and came straight to AllGood Cafe for their breakfast. One of the best breakfasts I've ever had! There were gluten free options for my mother. The coffee was good and free flowing. I tried to make it back again with family on Sunday but they had already closed. I will definitely come back to All Good if I'm ever in Dallas.

In town for the Zac Brown Band and asked the hotel staff where they eat breakfast. AllGood Cafe was mentioned as a favorite. We walked a couple blocks from the hotel into the area known as Ellum. We were seated quickly, the tables were turning over as quickly as they could get them cleared. Water and teas were served quickly, orders taken by Dante, I had the number 1 eggs, grits, peppered bacon, my wife had #4, scrambled eggs, black beans, fried potatoes. Both we excellent, service quick, attentive and I had to have an xtra order of the peppered bacon. Two teas, two Entrees plus extra bacon $31 before tip, go, all I can say is it was a great meal.

Located in the heart of Deep Ellum in Dallas, TX. Convenient parking at street meters. Every half hour costs 25 cents. Eclectic decor and awesome music. Service isn't that great, but my waiter was nice enough. He was eating his own grub in between checking on me. Prices are very reasonable $-$$ I had the Breakfast #2 which was pretty standard --bacon, eggs, pancakes. It was good. Ordered a side of grits and they were ok too. I liked this place and will go again. See photos.

This is my kind of restaurant! They have stuff all over the walls and a stage for the band that plays from 8-10pm. Best of all they have some really great food! Now mind you, I have only been there 1 time for lunch, but it was outstanding and I didn't even get their specialty which is chicken fried steak. The other specialty is peppered bacon and it was on my turkey sandwich and that made the sandwich very special indeed! I recommend you try this place sometime if you are in big D! The only problem you will run into is finding a parking spot!!

We were 4, my wife and I plus our kids. Although the mentioned it was understaff so to wait a bit more, it was great. Food was fantastic, especially the pancakes (we ate 5 pieces)… I got a Huevos Rancheros, which was also a 10. Just fantastic for a very very reasonable price

We went to the cage because we heard about the amazing bacon in the travel channel. The restaurant is quirky and has cute origami figures hanging from the ceiling. We had the pancakes, migas, eggs and bacon. The bacon was good, but everything was just okay.

Not much better than a school cafeteria. A few upgrades could make it a cool downtown hangout.

For us, no trip to Texas is complete without chicken-fried steak. All Good Cafe makes a satisfying version with perhaps the crispier crust I've ever had. The meat was decent: not too grisly, and the cream gravy was fair. I would have added some crumbled sausage to the gravy for a little more flavor. Good mashed potatoes and tasty black-eyed peas. The vibe is Austin-funky in Dallas's hip Deep Ellum neighborhood.

During a recent trip to Dallas, I had the pleasure of twice having breakfast at the All Good Cafe. Really enjoyed the atmosphere, music choices and well prepared, high quality food offered in LARGE portions. Great service and atmosphere. Staff even put up with my "northerner' kinda questions regarding southern cuisine such as what is "chicken fried", etc. Recommend this restaurant and a visit to "Deep Ellum" in a heart beat. A mile or two away from the main hotels in Downtown Big D, but well worth the trip. I will visit anytime while in the Dallas area!

This is definitely one of my favorite lunch spots and it's also great for music in the evenings. Have the breakfast -- even at lunch -- you can't go wrong. Service is always great.

Showed up in Deep Ellum on the Tuesday after Labor Day and wandered into the Allgood. Unexpectedly quiet, and amazing ambiance. Super chill staff, who were great at suggestions and spectacular tour guides for this unique up and coming corner of Dallas. Had copious amounts of good, hot coffee after a long drive and dealing with Dallas traffic and was happily surprised by a wonderful yogurt parfait with gorgeous strawberries and smooth creamy yogurt. As a great bonus, especially as a traveler with a disability, their bathrooms were big and clean. I'll definitely be back!

Yummy cream gravy (the real measure of excellent CFS) on lightly breaded pounded steak. Best I've had in a long while! Waiter says the "secret" of the gravy is their home made chicken broth. Very busy place. Expect a wait most times.

A friend & I ate here for lunch a little after 2:00 pm. We both had the huge chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes & a vegetable. Big portions, served quickly & hot. Great stop !!

I was looking for a solid, stay-with-you-all-day kind of breakfast and most of what I was seeing in Deep Ellum didn't seem to fit the bill. Allgood Cafe did - huge pancakes, peppery slabs of bacon and perfect over-easy eggs. Service was friendly and my coffee cup stayed full. I'm not gonna lie to you, it's entirely possible that some folks would find the Austin vibe to be "trying too hard," but I could care less when breakfast is this good. Prices are very reasonable.

What a Fantastic, Fun, Cozy place. The food was Bangin! I had the 2 Memphis Hot Chicken Fangers and a Pancake. My girlfriend had Kenny's Breakfast Tacos. AH Maze Ing! Whitney our waitress was Effing Great!

This is a very quirky or eclectic place. I have been here several years back for breakfast and knew that it was good, so I went there for a late lunch today. No crowds GREAT service, are waitress could not have been more helpful, and good. So we had a cup of corn chowder that was great. Lots of corn and vegetables with a good base. My wife had the tomato and mozzarella and said it was one of the best she had ever eaten, Big juicy red tomatoes at the peak of perfection. I had the crab and avocado salad it too was fantastic. Their house dressing is wonderful. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is the crab was okay. It was heading to the end of its life. It wasnt bad just not great - still had a bit of fishy smell. But I ate it all.

At a friends recommendation we drove from Plano to have the "great chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, and black eyed peas". Left feeling still hungry and like I had wasted my hard earned money . Will never go back to eat there.

Stopped in around 1 PM on a busy Saturday but we were seated within 20 minutes. Service was prompt- tough part was deciding whether to have breakfast or lunch. I had the bagel with REAL cream cheese, red onion and tomatoes and some hand made sausage patties (not the hockey pucks you get at some restaurants). Friend had a terrific omlette with swiss and mushrooms- she raved about the homestyle potatoes. Main thing- they kept up with the coffee and there was milk in a little pitcher. Positive experience all around. Easy to get to on the DART light rail green line- about a 3 block walk from the Baylor station.

Great place for music and for food!

Wife and I stopped by for breakfast before visiting the Arboretum and I must say we were delightfully satisfied. I ordered the montado breakfast and some short stack of pancakes and they did not disappoint. I will say the service could have been a little bit better. but overall really neat place in Deep Ellum. nice little atmosphere inside.

We wrapped up our yearly physicals near Baylor and were starving having fasted for the morning. The All Good Cafe was in nearby Deep Elum and TA gave some nice reviews so we headed over. It was late morning and we practically had the place to ourselves. Our server was competent and we opted for Bloody Mary's which were tasty albeit a bit spicy. Next time I would choose the margaritas which looked pretty good. On other reviews, the significant choice was the bacon so we decided to go with it... great choice. It was crisp and cooked perfectly and definitely made the meal for both of us. The biscuit was a tad dry but our waitress supplied plenty of butter and honey. The eggs were absolutely perfect and the breakfast potatoes were also really good. One of the better breakfast places we have ever been to, so I wonder if the lunch/dinner menu is as exceptional. I would give it more stars if offered!

Went to hear some friends performing here in July. It's absolutely great that the Allgood is supporting live music, but they also need to show some respect for their customers. It was far too hot to stay more than one set! Even the waitresses were fanning themselves with menus to try and stay cool. Food was so-so. I've had far better Chicken Fried Steak elsewhere. Theirs was tough, leathery and the batter was overcooked. Vegetables were cooked OK - not boiled to a soup. Plus side is that they have some pretty good beers and wines. They also have a box of toys for over active kids to amuse themselves.

I hit this place at midmorning, but whether I eat breakfast or lunch it's... all good. I'm usually alone with a magazine and enjoy watching the regulars chatting with the friendly waitstaff. Having also directed a big group here it turns out that I am not the only one who loves the food and SoCo vibe. That freshly made green salsa goes with half the menu, I like it best on the black beans. So, fave dish: the green chile grilled cheese with the peppered bacon added. Yeah buddy.

Great place for a quick casual meal. Everything on the menu is good and the staff is great. Two thumbs up.

Nice folks and good comfort food make for a surprisingly good place to eat close to downtown. Be sure to ask about the daily specials and save room for dessert. Good coffee too.

Stopped in here for lunch with family today. It was pretty good, not great. I had the Frito Chili Pie and out was tasty and the portion was large. After reading the reviews on here, I may go back and try the breakfast menu.

home cooked meals -

My husband and I stopped in for what this place claims is the World's Best Chicken Fried Steak. Save your time and money and go elsewhere is our recommendation. The crust was thin and most fell off as you began to cut into the steak. Gravy was under seasoned and accompanying green beans were completely raw. My husband's spinach veggie was also raw....not even wilted by heat. Both veggies had no seasoning or taste. Service was okay....lots of waiters stopped by but it was obvious that no one really took care of any one table and so we had to constantly flag someone down for refills of tea. And no one bothered to ask how the food was. Not Good would have been our response.

When I'm craving southern fried steak it's a toss up between Allgood Cafe and St. Pete's Dancing Marlin. Definitely the two best in Deep Ellum. Heck, the two best in all of Dallas.

I recently had the opportunity to visit this place for brunch. I chose the Extreme Breakfast Sandwich. Ham cheese Egg with Tabsco Mayo. What a treat. It was awesome. I can verify that everyone at our table enjoyed the food. and the placed was packed. All good to me!!

The bacon is peppered, thick but crunchy :) I love the migas with fresh salsa and tasty potatoes. I also enjoy stealing a bit of the pancakes from the boyfriend with blueberries. The place is definitely an Austin vibe. I enjoy people watching everyone try out the new scooters in town. Not sure about the rest of the menu but love me some breakfast.

Preparing for a trip to Dallas, we read about Deep Ellum without really getting to grips what the area actually was. Getting there was an eye-opener - I had a French Quarter, New Orleans feel about it - a wee bit run down, full of peripheral people, a little rough and tumble. Walking around to find a lunch place we passed the Allgood cafe, and were tempted by their boast that they had the best chili con carne in town. I would not know about that, but what a nice place ! The food was fine, but the ambience, the concertposters and the nostalgia was overwhelming. For someone being a teenager in the 60s this was heaven.

We lunched on a couples Dallas getaway. This is a delightfully relaxed, fun venue. I enjoyed a Cobb salad with amazing bleu cheese dressing. My husband had a fabulous BLT. Salsa is great.
Never fails!!!!
Serously never fails that every time we go to dallas we go and gave ourselfs an amazing breakfast at allgood cafe. Staff always helpfull food is awesom to say the least. I never leave here hungry i love this place
