Will go back!

By dotters |

Finally, a new restaurant in Atlantic Station that doesn't stink! Here's a new Italian restaurant with pizza made in their ovens. We went for Bunch on Sat. They have the usual fare, but we decided to try the pizza. We had the Carbonara with a Duck Egg - which actually was quite good! One pizza was enough for both of us and at $20, it was a steal for Brunch/Lunch! We will definitely go back to try other dishes!

I'm going to think about the clam pizza often

By UWECSARAH |

We were staying in the hotel, so we decided to have dinner one night at Allora. We split a clam pizza for an app and it was THE BEST. Like, for real. I'm still thinking about that pizza. I liked the menus and how they were presented on iPads. It was great to get to see what each dish looked like before deciding what to order. I got the risotto of the day - which ended up being lobster risotto - and it was great. My colleagues got pasta and salmon, and everyone enjoyed their meals.

What happened?

We used to like this restaurant. Went for brunch. They no longer serve pasta (which was quite good in the past). Had french toast with fruit. Two giant loaves of bread and 4, count them, 4 strawberries. (it was good, but really???) Daughter had the burger which she said wasn't much better than a fast-food one. Fries were tasty, however. The service though... One waitress for the whole place (it wasn't that busy, but still). She shuffled along. Never refilled the water, and other things. (She was actually the 'greeter' too.) Kitchen was very slow. (How long does it take to make french toast and a burger?) Probably won't be back and we so enjoyed the pasta and pizza.

Great vibe Great food

We had a fantastic time. I had the baked spaghetti the sauce on it was so good and the chicken was fried perfectly. We loved the music and atmosphere, and on top of everything the chef came out and spoke with us and asked us if we liked everything (which more places should do this). We will be back

Disappointing

Friday night birthday celebration. Dreadful service and disinterested servers. Food was ok but expensive and it was one of the few occasions in Atlanta that we did not tip. All very disappointing.

Recent changes for the better!

Josh, the Manager, has really improved things here! I like the updated menu and bar menu, they have a d.j. on Fridays and half off bottles of wine on Wednesdays. Much more positive and friendly attitudes on board now. Enjoy the ambiance and location so close to home!

Great Place for Healthy Eating

By Catherine C |

If you like kale salad or sautéed Brussels sprouts this would be the fine dining place for you. Love the meatball appetizer. The meatballs and kale salad suffice for a smaller appetite. The leg of lamb with sautéed vegetables works when you are hungrier. Great selection of fine wines, friendly waiters, romantic atmosphere.

Great restaurant

It’s tough to find restaurants that my wife and I can eat at due to her wheat allergy but this restaurant was great by offering to make any pasta dish gluten free. The food was fantastic and the ambience of the restaurant made for a relaxing dinner. The staff was also very friendly.

Allora's re-opening

By ATLchick4life |

I have written a review of Allora before in the past and it wasn't favorable. However, I went to their "re-opening" last week and it has made some significant improvements. The menu has been revamped and they now have new management (the 3rd or 4th version) in place. The atmosphere was upbeat, music was good and their wine list has improved. Hoping that they maintain this new vibe and ambience!

Best Pasta!

Allora ATL takes modern Italian cuisine to the next level! I cannot picture a better location for it than in Atlantic Station. The restaurant compliments its neighboring hotel quite well. The front door is gigantic yet light to pull open. Walking inside takes you to an alternate universe. The interior décor was just right. Warm and welcoming. Our server, Mariah, was friendly and made the experience great. As soon as we were seated, I was ready to eat. The menu is definitely unique. You won't find many if any of these items around town. My colleague decided to go with the Spinach Salad. This was not a typical salad. It included seared salmon, toasted quinoa, blueberries, feta cheese, toasted seeds and honey vinaigrette. Delightful! It came out looking like perfection in a bowl. I was going to be good and stay on track with a salad. However, that did not occur. The Shrimp Campanelle was calling my name. How could I resist? Beautiful shrimp, leeks, tarragon, preserved lemon in an amazing butter sauce. This was the best decision I've made all week! The flavors were outstanding and mostly because they use fresh ingredients. I can tell the difference when an eatery uses something from a can versus fresh from a market. It makes a world of difference. No meal is complete without dessert. The olive oil cake knew my first and last name. I could not leave without diving into it. This is not your average cake. The cake was served warm and accompanied by a scoop of honey gelato. I was satisfied. I wasn't over easy. I reminisced about the array of flavors I experienced on this day on the ride back. I haven't been this impressed with a local spot in a while. I am a critic so if things are not right, I let them know. I applaud Allora ATL for creating a unique upscale atmosphere for guests. The food is exceptional. They would have to be my favorite dine in Italian restaurant in Atlanta. Be sure to visit them this weekend. Why? Because Ash Said It! #ashsaidit

Good try but better execution is needed

By sabos93 |

Allora has a lot going for it. It’s in a good location with lots of parking, indoor and outdoor seating, pleasant decor, and attentive service. And it’s menu is pretty solid. I would say that where things fall down with the food is in the execution. During my first visit, we had the Caesar Salad, Allora's Meatball Pizza, Charred Broccolini, and Truffle Mushroom Risotto plus a couple cocktails. The salad was easily the best in terms of prep. Fresh with a good mix of dressing and nice flavor. I’d have preferred better croutons but that’s my preference. But the meatball pizza didn’t have meatballs. It was just ground meat, which would have been fine with me, except this pie had very little flavor. And the dough definitely need more time in the oven. It wasn’t undercooked, but it was just too flaccid.the Broccolini was my favorite dish for flavor, but then way too much oil. It was literally dripping off every bit. And the risotto, which was prepared perfectly, didn’t have much in the way of mushrooms or tHe truffle flavor that was promised. Incidentally, the broccolini and the risotto were great together and could have been an entree. So the food, while fine, was a mild disappointment. And then the ambiance kinda bummed me out. Now this is more of a personal critique. Some people probably love this place. But the bar takes up a ton of space in the middle with the table fanning out from it. Half the tables are essentially in the bar, which wants the environment I want. But the tables that aren’t in the bar kind feel like they’re off in Siberia. And then they lights are keep low but there are these accent light on the table that are entirely too bright. I put a napkin over it to tone things down. Anyway, I came to relax and chill, and just couldn’t find that groove. So like I said, if the kitchen can fix the food prep and and consistency, they would be in a much better place. And the food might be more likely to lure me back. But the Feng Shui of Allora just didn’t suite me. If I give it another go, it’ll be when the weather improves and I can sit outside.

Sure to be a top Atlanta restaurant once the word gets out!

We had a fabulous Mother’s Day dinner at the Allora. Dan the waiter was super! The atmosphere is terrific – an open modern floor plan with a real sense of warmth! We started out with a great assortment of drinks – some bourbon blends and others with assorted wines. Great house made bread and seasoned olive oil. Nice antipasto appetizers. For dinner, several had the pork and beef bolognese which was simply cooked to perfection. Others had the vegetarian lasagna with a yummy red sauce and variety of perfectly cooked layers of vegetables and cheese. Still others had classic pepperoni pizza with house made dough – superb! And classic meatballs and spaghetti. Dessert included a house made lava chocolate cake and the butter crusted bread pudding. Everything again cooked to perfection. The total bill for six people including drinks, dinner, and desserts was $177. Pretty amazing for such an Atlanta hot spot. The place was in the Twelve hotel and a bit difficult to find. The windows were tinted and limited signage. Also, one of the bathrooms was under construction. Surprisingly, a very, very, very small crowd but the place only opened a few months ago. It’s sure to be a top Atlanta destination once word gets out.

Very Surprising good!

While walking around Atlantic Station in Atlanta we came across Allora restaurant, not a clue that it may serve Italian food ( My favorite) The atmosphere threw me appearing to be a high upscale bar with DJ music just a little higher than my decible limit. The host graciously seated us toward the rear of the restaurant. Then the magic happened, our waiter was great, friendly almost like he was a close friend and very accomodating. We ordered spagetti and a meatball and Rigatoni Bolognese... WOW from that point on everything was great.. My only slight objection was the fact that most Italian restaurants do not charge for bread, Allora charged $1 pp for bread service w/olive oil.... but nevertheless a great overall experience

Great place

My parents are visiting Atlanta for the first time and they chose Italian food for dinner last night. Google’s recommendation was Allora. We were very pleased and satisfied with the quality of their service, food, place and price. Only the taste of the sangria was quite different than what we are used to ( it was more like a blackberry drink) and the music played by the DJ wasn’t exactly what we would have picked but it was okay.

The food that was prepared was not worth it. The Spinach salad was drenched in vinegar. The margarita pizza was drenched in oil, lots of sauce that was not made correctly like a margarita pizza should be.

Horrible Food and Expensive

By Whe30004 |

My wife's Caprese Salad came without basil, my Brussel Sprouts salad was barely edible. The main dishes were small and eventless. Worst food I ever had. Definitely not worth the high prices.

New menu and monthly events

Fantastic drinks and very good food. The 12th of every month has a new event that allows for guests to win great prizes. Definitely a place worth visiting if you are on vacation or a regular in town.

Really Good!

While staying at Twelve (the hotel that Allora is in) I ate breakfast here two days in a row and it was great! Service was friendly and excellent and the food was excellent too! I got their croissant breakfast sandwich each day and their potatoes. Those breakfast potatoes are fried up nicely with crispy outsides and the seasoning was so very tasty! The décor and restaurant is nicely done too. Definitely would recommend stopping in, at least for breakfast!
