Very recommendable place. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Ambience is contemporary and attractive. Food is delicious, we loved the guacamole (which consists of 6 different small dishes), the tomato-peach salad and the sweet corn.

Alma Cocina Buckhead on Peachtree Road in Atlanta is a great place to go for delicious and flavorful Mexican food. I really like the atmosphere and vibe that they have created here. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating to make sure that you have everything that you need. Great experience every time here.

Everything was amazing and Rick and his team have it going on!!! Try the fried cheese!!! Their tequila and mexcal selections are INSANE!!!!....sooooo many choices and the staff makes great recomendations!!!!

Great southwest menu and vibe. We shared chips and salsa and the fried cheese as an appetizer. It was excellent and went fast. We then moved on to street tacos and the steelhead plate. Everything was delicious and well presented. The margaritas were excellent as well.

THE BEST MEXICAN/SPANISH restaurant ever. Great guacamole, tacos, drinks and entrees. Pork shank Pibil entree is awesome.

Alma has two locations in the city of Atlanta. This specific location opened approximately January 2020. The location is great and within walking distance to the buckhead Marta station. The decor is modern with a South America feel interior . The service was terrific . If you are a dessert person , you have to try the pastel de Elote. It is amazing ! Good for dates and business meetings.

I recommend ordering what reviewers say is really good, vs. items you may be more familiar with. This is not a "typical" American-Mex or Tex-Mex menu. But their specialties are terrific. We went with the oft-reviewed Guacamole trio, and the Family Chicken Tinga taco dinner, and both were superb. Take-out is easy, fast and friendly. Highly recommended if you are looking for Mexican food in Buckhead.

Happy hour menu is quite limited. It wasn’t too busy around 3:30 last Friday. Service was good, but they kept forgetting the salt around the rim each time we ordered el classico. Tecate cans were nice and cold. Guacamole with the salsa trio was a good deal. El califa tacos weren't really spicy. Pork rinds had a little too much mayo. My favorite was the chilaquiles which came in a large bowl, and had a good kick to it - springer mountain farm chicken thighs, fried egg, pico de gallo, crema, queso fresco, and salsa verde.

We went there on a Saturday night to celebrate my wife’s and son’s birthdays. The menu wasn’t your typical Mexican restaurant menu which ordinarily would be fine. The server recommended the guacamole trio. There were three small bowls to share . One had regular guacamole and the other the other two had a mixture of various tasteless things plus guacamole . I would not recommend it. My son had carne asada tacos that were fair but nothing special. My wife and I shared the chicken tacos with a minuscule amount of tasteless chicken. After the food was served, our server spent most of his time with a table of seven next to our table. He forgot to bring tequila which my wife ordered. Our service suffered because of the the large party next to us. Overall, a bad experience. Give me a good ole Tex-Mex restaurant. We would never go back.

Four of us loved our dinner here. Upscale Mexican. Had guac and chips and a three-flavor salsa Drinks were good. Be forewarned, they add a 20% service charge. Overall, a great meal.

My friends and I were hungry for some nice Mexican food, but unfortunately this establishment is a joke, I often eat Mexican food and I can definitely beat my chest and say that this is not a good example of a Mexican cuisine. I don't even want to start describing my experience because it unpleasant, Besides who applies 20% gratuity automatically on your cheque? Well this one does and we're definitely not coming back here. If you seek a good Mexican food, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE!!!

Food is awesome, place is cool and waiter was super nice and helpful. Love it, would definitely go back.

Made a reservation to visit this Alma Cucina restaurant in my neighborhood on Friday night with friends. I do realize that this is not a Michelin starred restaurant, but dear me, I also though that you can expect some sort of standard when you go out to eat in Buckhead area. Unfortunately, the standard at this restaurant was very poor. Where do I start? Having entered the restaurant, we had to wait for several minutes to be acknowledged. Rude and hard faced hostess had a harder time to locate our reservation and finally when she did we realized that I mistakenly booked 7:15 not 7:30 as I intended. After waiting by the bar a few mins we finally got a table beside the bar as a punishment away from the main seating area. Though the restaurant was half fool but hostess in authoritative and mean tone of voice told us that this is all and best she can do for us since we are late for our reservation. Four of us felt like school kids being punished, but keep in mind I'm in my 50's and not a kid.Bartender offer us first round of cocktail on the house as an apology for the young hostess rudeness. The pretentious dishes with weird names on the menu was far try from good in taste but not taste as a quality Mexican dishes, salsa was not freshly made in the house but a premaid of three different in color small containers of something strange, Sweet Fried Plantains were not sweet and covered with cheese! The beef steak was marinated in COFFE and tasted unusual and not good. Shellfish Ceviche was flooding in mixture of balsamic vinegar and olive oil and mostly vegetables lacking the actual shellfish. In our opinion this Mexican restaurant is a bad example of Mexican cuisine and definitely not a right establishment for Buckhead location where people seek good quality and service. If you’re seeking a good Mexican cuisine and good quality time, this is definitely not the place. They are also automatically including 20% gratuity without letting you know that. VERY DESONEST AND CONNING!!!

Been there last night and had an awesome dinner. The fried cheese, octopus and the pork chop just killed it. Great service, everybody wearing masks. Good selection of local beers, only thing I missed was having the Kölsch beer, this was out. Great choice, nice location with free parking. We will be back. This means a lot as very few restaurants in ATL are worse the money. We are from Europe and been mostly disappointed, but not this time!

We went there with a business partner for a quick lunch. Once again the service was attentive and quick, the sea bass was again delicious and we had a nice time. Steady value and you can't go wrong.

Dinner night with my wife, excellent restaurant, food I s presented nicely and flavors are intense. Chad Clevenger, the Executive Chef spent a good time at the table with us sharing many mutual culinary stories and plates, sure he personally takes care of every plate that leaves the kitchen. We tried several plates including the Trio Guacamole’s and Trio Salsas, all different but extraordinary tasty, and with the right heat on each, mixing many flavors within. The Grilled Octopus is grilled to perfection and presented nicely. Our main course was a special 16 oz Grilled Pork Chop Pibil served to prepare Tacos. At the end Chad chose the deserts and he wrapped up a great Night, Churros with Chocolate and Passion Fruit Caramel and Chocolate Peanut Butter Bombe… flavor inspired on Mexican Culture and flavor mix. Not to comment on the Margaritas, all deserve a taste, and the special attention of our server Blake made for a great Night… For Sure another visit is due in the near future. congratulations Chad and Team

Everything here is excellent. The service is amazing and the food even better. I would recommend the epanadas.

What incredible service! Most flavorful entrees. Tasteful atmosphere. Thank you David for the experience! You have an amazing team!

Normally we wait at least 6 months to try a new restaurant. One off the managers at South City Kitchen in Buckhead suggested we try Alma Cocina that open in the past month in the former space that Brick Tops was located. The first impression of the interior is "WOW".The Fifth Group that opened the restaurant spend allot of money on the interior and it is beautiful. Melanie Weinberg, Manager came over to out table to thank us for coming. Niki our server was fantastic and very astute. Now to the meal. We were a party of 5 and decided to share small plates. We started with greta margaritas and then focused on the food. The melted cheese dish was unbelievable and should be on anyones list to order. We enjoyed the ceviche, empanadas, tacos. The Trece Lichee for desert was a great finish. This restaurant is a winner. Be sure to make a reservation as this is and will be a hot spot in Buckhead.

Delicious meal … loved the “contemporary Mexican Cuisine”! Our favorite item was the Sweet Fried Plantains! The salad and mole dishes were also wonderful. Large portions so come hungry! See my pics -

Food was delicious service was just silly on a Tuesday nothing in order all over the place with sequence and orders nothing together but I’d go again
Disappointing visit
We go to Alma Cocina regularly and they always have friendly and attentive service. On this particular visit, service was once again outstanding. However, the food disappointed in this instance. The salmon was not very good and the dish was served with tomato broth and fava beans despite a request for those items to not be included. The manager waived the cost of the salmon, which was extremely nice. Having been to Alma Cocina many times, I have concluded that the best bet is to stick with amazing tacos and reliable appetizers. I loved a trout I had there several months ago, but the salmon was a letdown. They have a great vibe and it is certainly worth a visit when you are in Buckhead.
