Alma Cocina is a different Mexican food experience. We wanted reservations for 14 people and were told we could only reserve for 10 and it had to be at 5PM on a Saturday night. So we were seated at a table with an almost empty restaurant?? Food was tasty, but not much comes with the meal like a typical Mexican place, need to purchase beans and chips and salsa's separately. Margaritas were too sweet and the overall price is too expensive for what you get. The 3 taco meals are not enough to fill you up. Definitely better options in Atlanta without the hefty price tag.

It was a peaceful dinner, early because of the kids. Crowd was a mix of couples, friends and very few families. Atmosphere is relaxing. The food is definitely original with duck and octopus but these get pricey. So we went for sharing 4 dishes for 5 ppl and ended up with scraps. Children’s portions were huge. Sauces and guacamole do the trick for us. Will definitely go back if need a place to eat close to the Olympic park. Detail: my kids loved the restrooms.

Friendly staff and great drinks. Even being from New Mexico their food was just enough different that it was a good experience. Wished we could have had the dinner menu as it looked intriging.

Alma Cocina is a must try if in Atlanta. Located in the beautiful ritz Carlton building...relaxed vibe, with top notch drinks and Mexican cuisine. We loved it so much, we came back a second night. All the first bites are delicious. They should make the wings an entree because they’re so good. Food comes out fresh, hot and quick. Everyone was so nice and friendly which made the experience even better. Definitely recommend this place.

Had dinner there before a show. The place was clean and very nice. Service was good and there were interesting dishes to choose from. We tried the fried cheese which was delicious. The tacos were good but too salty and the margaritas were just OK.

Three couples visited here for first time. Everyone loved it. Excellent margaritas. Great salsa sampler. Amazing tacos of all kinds. We really loved it.

You have to try the fried cheese! It is a very unique presentation and everyone loves melted cheese. The signature and street tacos were really good as well.

A delayed Delta flight caused us to have an unexpected 24 hours in Atlanta. We took MARTA downtown in search of a restaurant and were delighted to find Alma Cocina. The service was incredibly friendly and helpful (we later found that our waitress was a trainee!). We had the trio guacamole, one was a smokey butternut squash guacamole (our favorite), one was a cranberry guacamole and then there was the traditional. We then ordered the steak taco and the fried avocado taco (our favorite) meals. All was delicious. We were just bumming for food and found a gem.

I loved the feel of the place upon entry. Nice bar, cool semi circle booths, low lighting. The food was amazing! Excellent Guacamole, Street Tacos, Pork Chop. Not your typical Mexican fare, more upscale and unique. I have a 12 year old with food aversions and the chef agreed to prepare a special order of steak with salt and pepper and white rice. Located in the bottom floor of the Ritz Carlton on Peachtree Street, a great location. Great service and food!

I have only good things to say about this restaurant! The staff all the way up to the manager were friendly and efficient and the food was out of this world fantastic! I had the guacamole and the pork belly tacos and everything was delicious. My only regret is I can’t eat here every night…. If you haven’t eaten here and you like more authentic Mexican dishes then you are missing out!!

From the host’s greeting to our server K’s recommendations, they were on top of it- details matter. They noticed that it was our anniversary and provided a card signed by staff- complete w artistry. 😊. We enjoyed our food (wine, guacamole, salad, paella). It was busy on a Monday evening w a variety of guests & noise level was just about right. A short walk away from many downtown hotels. And we were surprised w a dessert for both of us, noticing that my husband is a pesca vegan. Well done!!

So fresh and delicious! Ice cold Mexican Coke, flavorful guacamole, yummy margaritas. Terrific service & fun atmosphere!

Delicious fried cheese sticks in cheese dip a must try. Dark and stormy drink very drinkable and quite strong. The pulled pork also good.

We went for a Friday night meal whilst walking past the restaurant and ventured in to find a very pleasant and comfortable decor and welcoming staff. The food was very good but small selection of Mexican dishes although the restaurant is described as modern Mexican.

If you love Latin food and have a broader pallet than Tex-mex this place is for you. Our family of 4 went and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere (it’s adjacent to the Ritz and has a “courtyard” in the lobby). The kids menu is very kid friendly despite the more interesting adult menu. Our kids got a a cheese quesadilla and a chicken tender soft taco. They have a grapefruit margarita that was fantastic! (not on the kids menu :-)!)

My husband was in Atlanta for a conference. We chose to have dinner at Alma Cocina based on Trip Advisor reviews. Hubby had chicken mole which he said was tasty. I had street tacos. We shared guacamole and chips. The margaritas were also good. We had no complaints. Try it!

We love Mexican and South American food and have tried some of the best in America — this may be our favorite yet. We are actually thinking of going back for lunch tomorrow, it was that memorable! Our server, Terry, was great and took time to walk us through the menu before bringing our delicious margaritas. He was energetic, attentive and had a great attitude. For appetizers, we had the steelhead ceviche and the pork belly. For dinner, I had the snapper and my husband had the Barbacoa. Both entrees were fantastic! Churros for dessert were wonderful as well.

We’re staying at the Ritz and walked by Alma on our way out to walk the city. We decided that we’ll have dinner there later. We arrived there around 6 and that had a huge private party that took up most of the restaurant. The wait was two hours. We had a drink and waited to see if we could get a seat at the bar. The hostess (I wish that I got het name) came up to us that they had a cancellation and a table. The dinner and experience was great. Our waiter, Ricky, was fantastic. The food was awesome! The guacamole was the best! Overall, the food was great but the service was better!

The food and atmosphere were great. I had the pork loin taco. It was fabulous. Everyone in my group enjoyed their food.

When I order tacos, especially at downtown Atlanta prices, I can no longer rate higher than a 3 if the tortillas are not freshly made or at least certainly do not seem to be. As long as we are putting the tortilla in our mouth, why not make it taste good instead of only being a tool, like a wet piece of paper, to hold the other ingredients together. Service was good. "Everyone" seems to like the place - maybe other menu items are very good.

I was in Atlanta for a work conference and stayed at the Westin Peachtree Hotel. This upscale Mexican restaurant is just across the street. My colleagues and I enjoyed some outstanding salsa and guacamole as an appetizer. We all ordered some of the street tacos and they did not disappoint. The food was excellent and our server was a delight. He took excellent care of our table and we enjoyed every minute at this fine establishment.

Creative and delicious. Excellent service from Lanavia whose recommendations we wholeheartedly loved! Highly recommend!

Upscale Mexican, busy, loud place but fun. Not bad for business meal. The plantain chips mixed with torilla and dipping sauces were enjoyable. nice selection of Tequila which we tried. A couple people got the pork chop and enjoyed it, my friend and I got the carniatas-nice serving, well presented and tasty. Service a bit inconsistent, one minute he said take your time then showed up twice asking if we were ready, and it wasn't full?

We always visit this restaurant when in downtown Atlanta. Everything is excellent! Small plates, tacos, entrees, tequila selection! We especially love the Chihuahua cheese, be sure to chop it up when it arrives and either wrap in tortillas, or just dip your chips in. It usually packed when we go, so definitely recommend a reservation if you are visiting during a busy time.

Food so good, there was a party in my mouth! Carmella provided great service! I recommend the salsa and guacamole tasting. The fried cheese was amaze balls! The mahi and the calamari tacos were great. It was my second time here and I’ll be back next time I’m in the hood.

Wow, if you like tequila you have to try this. They make an ice cube out of a mix of various fruits (mango, passionfruit etc) and serve it to you with a shot of tequila. It was excellent. We loved the atmosphere and vibe of this place. Sat at the bar, friendly service. The guacamole and salsa tray was really good, served with chips and plantains. The empanadas were good as long as you like mushrooms. The drinks were good as well.

These were some of the most creative small plates I’ve had. Octopus was delish, and their unique version of heirloom tomato salad was outstanding! We really enjoyed the guacamole and salsa sampler, too. I can’ speak to the meals, because we only had smalls, but service was great (thanks, Will!). I’ll definitely go back next time I’m in Atlanta.

Excellent service with Jess our server, wonderful food., make sure u visit, the manager visits your table for a chat. Great evening!

I live in Atlanta and was going to a concert around the area. Especially for locals, downtown is a tricky place to find a restaurant. We liked this one- good food and great service. If you're at the Tabernacle for a show, it's within walking distance.

while they were really good, they were not $15 for 3 tacos good. You have to REALLY want premium Mexican food (didn’t realize there was such a thing) and be ready to pay for it to go to Alma Cocina. I won’t be going back. Could have a much better meal somewhere else for the money we spent here.

Stopped by after work. Service was excellent. Both the salsa and guacamole were very good. Cannot recommend the goat taco, but the chicken tinga was excellent. Limited menu, but very good overall.

This was a place near our hotel. I really like Mexican food, wow this place is incredible. The service is very good! The dishes are excellent as well. You will not be unhappy if you eat here

Starters, mains, drinks and dessert harmonised perfectly for a great business luncheon in the beautiful atrium of the Deloitte building. Our server Nicole provided quick and pleasant service, with great recommendations for each course. Portions are generous, and the selection was beautifully curated for our group. Authentic and great value!

Dropped in for an early lunch and we were not at all disappointed. Veery tasty Street Tacos, the 3 types of Guac are a great appetizer. The server was very good and always had drink refills ready.

I was surprised how busy this place gets on a tuesday evening - you should definitely reserve a table ahead! Staff was friendly and the ambience nice. Food was very very good, friendly to a western palate with gentle spicyness but still quite true to the original version. Lovely cocktails, you should try one, or two...

This is a wonderful treat. The atmosphere is pleasant. There is a pseudo outdoor seating area. There is bar seating. The staff was very attentive. Our server was Kaylene and she was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the 6 sampler salsa and guacamole. They are served with plantain chips and tortilla chips. The drinks are pleasing to the eyes and palate. The entrees are large. There are street tacos; steak, pork and chicken entrees. Tasty rice and beans. The sides with the meals such a pickled vegetables were amazing. The spice level was medium for most of the items we tried. They are temporized when added to the protein of a dish. Very good quality children’s menu. Not the usual kid choices. This restaurant became very busy very fast. I would recommend a reservation. Would definitely eat here again.

Lively atmosphere with fantastic service. Margaritas were a perfect way to start the evening. We had the tacos which were tasty (not like from the chains) and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend this place.

This restaurant was chosen by someone in our group on our trip to Atlanta. I often do not take the time to rate food. However, this time is an exception that is warranted. If you enjoy your food tasting like an entire shaker of salt has been poured on it, then this is the spot for you. I really enjoy salting food, but this food was RIDICULOUS!. The portions were also a joke. We ordered the steak and lobster tail. The lobster tail looked to be the size of a jumbo crawdad, no joking. It had about 3 decent bites of meat in it, and no butter was brought out for dipping. The steak came out pre-sliced in 4 little bite-sized pieces. Not only was the amount of steak a joke, but the taste wasn't even good. It was hard to chew. We did also get a salad that was fairly good but not for the price. With the prices for this dining experience, the food should have been exquisite. One and done!!! I will never eat here again and do not recommend it to others. Save your money and go to a fast food restaurant if this place is the only other option.

Dropped in for a drink and maybe an appetizer. Wound up having one the best meals ever. Margarita selections were good, the Blood Orange variant was excellent. The Guacamole and Salsa sampler turned out to be three of each including a cranberry Guac and a Butternut Squash Guac that where far better than the names suggest. The basket of both corn and plantain chips were the perfect complement. An order of three Fried Avocado Street Tacos were outstanding and came served with just the right amount of rice and beans. The piece de resistance, however, were the churros for dessert. Served fresh from the fryer with great chocolate sauce and to-die-for caramel sauce they were superb. And the waiter was one of the best we have found in a long time. Just the right amount of slight snark, excellent menu knowledge, never to far away but never hovering, he made a great meal an outstanding meal. We need an excuse to come back.

My colleagues and I stayed at the Westin and stopped here for dinner one night. The food was so great we went back again. Everything we tried from the salsa and guacamole aster to the white shrimp and grits was absolutely delicious. The restaurant is noisy but we were able to carry on a conversation. Servers were very friendly and prompt. Everything came put hot and well cooked and seasoned.

The wait staff was amazing - well informed, very helpful. The food was good, but a little more expensive than we were expecting. Don't miss the marvelous passion fruit coconut cake for dessert!

Great location downtown. Busy for a Wednesday night, but was seated within five minutes. Attentive service. It was Margarita day, but alas no specials. Quality menu, but a little lacking in tridiagonal Mexican options. I had the shrimp tacos which were very tasty! Would return for sure.

Went for a large business dinner. We were split into multiple different tables which was fine. Initial apps were delicious. After that everything went downhill. Service was at a snail's pace. Finally got my chicken which was very dry and not tasty. Was served with precisely five green beans. Very bad acoustics. Would not return.

We had a large group of friends and even when we added 4 more people to the group at the last minute, they worked hard to accomodate us. The food was fabulous! We had the guacamole/salsa taster with three kinds of each. All were delicious. The octopus small plate was to die for. I think I can honestly say it was the best octopus I have ever had. very tender and not the least bit chewy. Someone else ordered the fried cheese which came in a big bowl. It was awesome. I had the chicken street tacos which were delicious, but I wish I had felt hungry enough to order the short rib tacos. My friend had those and they were fabulous! Overall a greta experience!

Really good Mexican in the heart of Buckhead. Several varieties of margaritas, tacos, salsas and more. Free 2 hour parking when validated in the garage nearby. Great and attentive service.

Visited here on a Sunday night and it was pretty empty, although it’s a huge place. Service was very good, Will was an engaging and knowledgeable waiter. Try the different guacamoles and chips. I had the tacos. The sauces were great. Seems like modern Mexican food drops fajitas from consideration. Coffee and Mexican chocolate ice cream to round it all out. The ice cream bites u a bit after. If you are in downtown give this place a try.

Blown away! Every app and small plate was delicious! Squash blossoms are a must, must! Great suggestion of tequilas, cocktails and drafts!

We were seated promptly, and our waiter was very helpful in helping us choose our dishes. We had a big lunch, so we went there for dinner, we were really looking for something on the lighter side. Jonathan, suggested several items, and we settled on the guacamole and salsa tasting. What a great choice. Jonathan was attentive and made sure we had just what we needed. A great experience. We will return the next time we are in Atlanta.

This rates as one of my favourite Mexican restaurants ever 👍 The menu features authentic Mexican dishes, all of which were amazing. The house margarita was excellent - if you like something spicy try “Just Wear Black”. For main the Taco Pork Tenderloin was very tasty. The service was the best I have experienced in Atlanta - outstanding!

This is a very popular restaurant, and we were lucky to get a table without a reservation. The guacamole and fried calamari tacos were delicious, but the experience was marred by a rather rushed food service. I hate being presented with the check when I haven’t requested it and there is still food on the table.

I ate here on the last night of an 8-day road trip for work. This restaurant had been on my list for a couple of years and I finally got to enjoy the food. My server was extremely efficient, and the food was prepared very well. I didn't eat a lot because I was ready to return home the next day, but it was an enjoyable meal.

To simply call this food Mexican conjures up an unfair stereo type of cuisine. The menu sampling is broad and not limited to usual offerings. Of course there is guacamole but it is some of the best I’ve tasted. Two different ceviche grace the menu, smoked trout was my pick. And the humble goat street taco is superb. Flavors are bold and flavorful with a dose of spice the is savory but bright. I look forward to a quick return prior to my trip’s end..

We were a group of colleagues meeting up for drinks and appetisers. The appetisers were ordered in advance - all very nice and drinks were good too. After the hot Atlanta weather, it was nice to sit down in air conditioned comfort.

Situated along the active Peachtree strip, AC is a boisterous restaurant offering good Mexican fare. While large, the dishes are authentic have some great flavour profiles. Salsa & guacamole sample platter is a great way to start the evening, with six to dip your perfect nacho and plantain chips into. A fair number of hot or cold small bites; grilled octopus was a standout. Our had the mole, which was heightened by the very crispy chicken. Also the build-your-own tacos. Street tacos selection looked good; only wish is that you could have three of your choice, instead of three of the same. Decor is nice, though this place is so popular don’t expect a quiet meal. :-)

Went there for lunch break and the waiter advice me to take that plate that was supposed to be just a little bit spicy but it was more than just a bit (but it make sense since it’s Mexican food 💡)! Anyway after the food cool’ down i manage to eat it all, it was very good Mexican food !

I had the pleasure of dining with a colleague and customer at Alma Cocina on Sept 18, 2019. Jerry, our server was excellent. Attentive, knowledgeable but never over bearing. The food was terrific. The salsa, Guacamole and chips were a great way to start the meal. I will definitely be back!!

I went here on a Saturday evening for dinner with 2 friends before a show at the Balzer Theatre nearby. I had made reservations via phone earlier in the day. No open tables were available via Open Table, so I had to call and was able to get a table. We were seated promptly and orders drinks. For starters, we had the trio salsas/guacamole as well as the fried chuchuahua cheese. The salsas were good, but the chuchauha cheese was amazing. For my entree, I had the chicken mole and it was so tasty and succulent. It was on the bone, but only one leg bone at the end, so it was fine. My friends had the chicken tinga tacos (excellent) and the colorado lamb barbacoa (excellent). We also had an order of the corn that we shared and it was excellent, too. All of the food was excellent. The service was great and the experience was amazing.

We were lucky to arrive without reservations and were seated right away. The place was packed. Our waiter was amazing and very knowledgeable of the menu. We were not sure what to order so we had a bit of all. We had the small bites pork belly, wings, the guacamole trio (least favorite was the cranberry) we had the fried cheese, very creative but extremely hot in temperature. The chicken dinner was great. The octopus was amazing The only sad part was that we were too full to try dessert. Highly recommend it

We visited this restaurant and found it to be amazing!! The food and margaritas were top notch! The service was outstanding and I'll be sure to visit again and bring several more friends.

Came here with a colleague for drinks and dinner. Outstanding. Love the food and the atmosphere. Great selection of Tequillas, knowledgeable staff. Had a great time and enjoyed our meal.

This was an incredible dining experience! I got the fried cod walking tacos and it was the perfect touch of fresh and spice for the palate. I also ordered an excellent original margarita. Make a reservation.

I like this place food is good and is not as a standard Mexican restaurant .... is modern and the food is good . The location is nice and big . Good service and the margarita was good too

I stopped by here for lunch as it was in close proximity to my hotel and I needed something that was relatively quick. I ordered the guacamole single and the chicken tinga verde tacos. The guacamole was solid and tasted fairly fresh but was underseasoned. I also felt that normal tortilla chips would've paired better than the tostadas that were offered. The tacos were quite solid themselves, the chicken was cooked nicely and retained sufficient moisture to not be dry and the accompaniments of pico de gallo, queso fresco, and crema melded well. However, the tortilla did not hold up very well and ripped easily due to the moisture of the main ingredients. The side items of rice and beans were both mediocre. The rice itself was unseasoned with barely any flavor and the beans also lacked salt. Service was actually quite good and also extremely efficient: the whole service was done within 35 minutes of my arrival. It isn't a particularly cheap meal, but if speed is of the essence this is a fine stop, otherwise it leaves a bit to be desired in the department of food quality.

Was here a couple of times during a conference. The veg. empanadas were very good. The cod fish tacos were ok. The chocolate icecream was very good. The place was busy - the service was excellent and the waiters were very respectful and nice. Would return again and worth checking out without hesitation if other options are not available.

This is not your typical Tex-Mex restaurant. The dishes are creative and visually beautiful. I could make a meal of the plantain chips and salsas plus guacamole. The duck dish was amazing. We had a few people at our table who were not familiar with a lot of the dishes and ingredients, and our waitress was very kind in explaining everything.

Fron beginning to end, this was a wonderful experience. The Amatlan margarita with the double barreled tequila, curacao, and fresh squeezed citrus juices was amazing. The Georgia Sope shrimp had just theright amount light smokiness with the charred tomatoes and ava avacado. The pan roasted scallops and flat iron steak were perfectly cooked perfectly cooked and seasoned with corn sauce and heirloom tomatoes. Service was impecable. Highly recommend.

While in Atlanta for a conference I had heard from staff at the hotel where I was staying that this was a delicious spot for dinner and boy were they right! The Barbacoa was amazingly tasty! The Esquites was traditional and delicious! Service was attentive without being pushy! Wonderful meal all around! I will definitely return if in Atlanta again!

This is seriously one of the best meals we've ever eaten. The flavors were sweet, smokey, salty and delicious. We tried the sampler of guacamole and salsas followed by the empanadas and then the tacos. We would actually stop in Atlanta to have this food again. Service was amazing and prices were reasonable. Highly recommended!

We were hungry and were looking for a decent restaurant for a while downtown. . Yummy food, good portions, good and efficient service. Perfect.

Very good selection of appetizers and tacos. Wide range of tequilas and beers. Very attentive service and nice atmosphere.

I've been to Alma Cocina for dinner. This time, I stopped in for lunch while on a business trip. I went to the bar to place my order to go and the bartender was very friendly, offering to get me a drink while I waited. I got the salsa sampler with chips and the chicken tinga tacos. All the food was very good and it came out quickly. I have no complaints and would stop back in next time I'm in the area.

Work dinner with colleagues and had reservation but for some reason seated us in bar at booth not main restaurant. We had to ask for drinks to be taken, food order to be taken, water refills, and table to be cleared (multiple times). Was never apologized to for delays and just dragged meal on and on. Might as well been self serve. $16 for three bland tacos is insane. Never understood fancy mexican and never will when menu has a $42 taco you should probably go get real mexican and have a better meal and service down the road.

Variety of small dishes , mostly variation of Mexican classics with a modern touch. Marinated tenderloin, flautas, guacamole, tostadas. What I tried was not terrible spicy, hot sauces were available

We were visiting in from out of town during the National Championship and found this place close to the convention center. The reviews said to try the fried cheese and I’m glad they did because it was delicious. We also did the chips and salsa and I really liked all the salsas. For my main course, I did the 1/2 roasted chicken. It was really easy to make into little tacos and the flavors were outstanding. I would highly recommend stopping by Alma Cocina.

Just ok, service was good and food was decent. Wasn’t worth what was charged. The pork main dish was 75% fat, fried cheese was mediocre, prawns were not fresh, and everything else was just ok. Wouldn’t go here again, lots of other better options in ATL. Disappointed.

Had the ROASTED ½ CHICKEN AL CARBON w/ tomatillo salsa. Super DELICIOUS! And the Broccoli side, is to die for! For dessert Coconut Cake, SUPERB! NOT too sugary. I wish I lived in Atlanta. Great service & friendly service!

Nearly every dish at the so-called Mexican restaurant has nuts or peanuts. I was able to enjoy the basic guacamole and a tomato heirloom salad. But for the price, no way! Service was excellent.

Food is excellent and wines and cocktails are great. Inside the atmosphere is quite noisy but in the hotel main hall there is glom for talking. Good!

I really want to love this place but I just hate it. They are really rigid about adjusting anything and they have things on the menu that you can only get with one particular thing and will not let you buy them on the side. Seriously, how hard is it to sell things on the side? So disappointing. I have tried it a few times and every time I leave disappointed so I guess I’m officially giving up. If you are good with ordering 100% off the menu and having no say on alternatives then maybe you will like it. But if you have any issues where you need to make adjustments, you should go somewhere else.

One of best meals I have had in a long time. Listen to the waitstaff as to what their specialities are. Delish plaintains and empanadas.

Overall, very friendly service. The staff was very hospitable and friendly. The food was good and plentiful. No complaints.

On our recent trip to Atlanta went to Alma Cocina twice. Once for dinner and once for lunch. At dinner we had their three guacamole app, with chips and plantain chips, then a fish app that I am blanking on the name of, their hot cheese brick, and the chicken tacos (3 at dinner, 2 at lunch). Everything was fantastic! We also ordered their designed drinks, my husband getting margaritas and me with a drink that had tequila on the menu but they switched in vodka for me, and it was delicious. Lunch we had salsa trio, our favorite guacamole (the tomato one), and I got the lunch tacos and he had a sandwich. All was very good again. Only issue is the person who delivered our salsa and guacamole said they stopped making the plantain chips (which I greatly prefer over regular) but then we somehow got them anyway. I definitely recommend the restaurant keep making the plantain chips!! Will definitely go back on our next trip.

Best gourmet restaurant in the city of Atlanta !! Top five in the United States! Excellent service! Tried at least twelve different items and they were all fantastic! Amazing coffee paired up with the deserts!!!! Enjoy!

Right downtown, conveniently located on Peach tree Street. Good selection of beers, an over choice of entrees and exceptional service. If you like Mexican I think you’ll like Alma Cocina which, interestingly, translates into “soul kitchen” in Spanish — fitting name for a Mexican restaurant in the “soul food” capital of the world.

2 of us were in town for a show at the Tabernacle Theater. This restaurant is within walking distance. The restaurant is in busier part of town with several choices but if you like Mexican/Central American food this is a great place to go. The service is excellent and there are a variety of dishes. There is choice of tables or at the bar to eat. Nice atmosphere and not conversationally challenged. Main plates is plenty of food. Small plates too which would be great for sharing if you had a larger party. Lots of choices. We had the guacamole and chips. Chips came hot and crispy. Guacamole had a good spice to it. One main dish was the chile rubbed duck breast which was cooked perfectly. The plantain hash was a little dry but the plaintain sauce helped with that. The other dish was spring vegetable sope which was exactly as described. Would have liked it a touch spicier. The people next to us raved about the tacos which we did not try but there were lots of varieties listed on the menu. If you have room for dessert get the churros. This is more upscale then most Mexican restaurants so the prices are reflective of that. We tried making a reservation ahead of time on Open Table and it said no spots until 9 PM. We were looking for 7 PM. So we took a chance and walked in and the place was not overly crowded and we were seated right away and it was a Saturday night. If we were back that way we would definitely eat at this place again as there were so many more things we would like to try.

The appetizer consisting of 3 guacamole and 3 salsa variaties was surprising and delicious. I had the porkchop as main, which came with bit of sausage and a delicious sauce, looked like it had a bit of chocolade in it but different to a typical mole. Good selection of beers and wine by the glass. Good and friendly servers.

Alma Cocina Downtown has delicious and flavorful food in a cool and unique atmosphere. Everything is well prepared and flavorful. Excellent overall experience every time I have been here.

I have eaten here many times as I attend 7 Atlanta Markets a year. Our group always stays at the Ritz and you have direct access inside through the adjoining building. Our group loves the inside patio...although it is often reserved for private parties. The atmosphere is nice and service is usually great. The cuisine is more Brazilian Mexican (not Tex Mex) so the menu can be interesting and does change fairly regularly. Alma is one of my go-to spots when staying downtown!

We celebrated our 27th Wedding Anniversary at Alma Cocina this weekend, and we were blown away by the food and the service. We had just returned form a trip to Mexico, and my wife was raving about our last visit to Alma. I thought it would be a nice surprise to set up something via Open Table, and we were not disappointed. We arrived around 7:40pm on Saturday, and were promptly whisked away to our table. We were greeted by the manager, Mark, who congratulated us and brought 2 of their signature Tequila Cube drinks(Herradura “Double Reposado") which consisted of a mixture of passion fruit, mango, agave, blood orange, vanilla, and guajillo pepper in a large ice cube. We tried a sip of the double Resposado and then began to pour it over the large ice cube. The drinks were delicious and it was fun waiting for the next flavor to appear as the ice melted. We also ordered two of their signature cocktails, The Amatitán and the Naranjarita. Both were great and paired well with the dishes that were about to be unveiled. We were also greeted by our server, Katie, who was fun, friendly, and extremely helpful when were trying to make our selections. We started with the first bites of the roasted fig, and pork belly. Both were extremely good and flavorful, but the pork won by a nose. We then ordered 2 of the small plates which consisted of the Spicy Georgia Shrimp Sope and the Hamachi Crudo. The sope was good, but the Hamachi was better! So many flavors hitting you all at once, and it was a very light dish. We ordered and split the Chicken Mole as our entree, and it was incredible. Crispy skin, grilled green beans, and plantain hash, made for a great combination. It was large portion and perfect for 2 people to share. We finished our meal with the Churros and the sweeter, after dinner Tequila Cube (Tequila Don Julio paired with coffee and maple ice cube). It made for a great after dinner treat! I highly recommend Alma Cocina and can't wait to return to try even more great dishes. If I had it to do all over again, I would have ordered all of their small bites and tried even more of their signature cocktails. Thank you Alma Cocina for making our 27th Anniversary even more special!

Great dinner, very nice restaurant for all types of events. Great chips and salsa. Highly recommend.

We had time before our drive out to Augusta and walked over to this lovely establishment. The salsa/guacamole sampler was great, and the cocktails cold and beautifully balanced. The tamale has a lot of flavor. I wasn’t a big fan of the empanadas, but I am partial to the South American variety. The sandwiches were flavorful. We had the custom tequila, smooth and refined. Staff was attentive and friendly! Overall a lovely experience!

Modern Mexican cuisine in the heart of Atlanta. Great authentic mole, terrific service and a menu that makes me hungry just thinking about it. If I were a tequila drinker I'd have been tempted by their ENORMOUS selection (Mezcal too). Portions were huge and fairly reasonably priced. Definitely recommend.

Server was Clalrissa...an A plus. great black mole chicken with a delightful side of a shrimp and guacomole

This is my third visit to Alma Covina; and I’ve never had a bad experience with this restaurant! To start, our waiter was phenomenal; Will was extremely helpful with helping us choose the perfect meal for us and taking a dairy allergy into consideration. Thank you a million times Will for a great meal! We had the guacamole trio to start; which I highly recommend. The carnitas tacos and snapper entree were to die for!!

I stayed in Atlanta 4 days and I went twice to Alma Cocina. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and a good terrace. The guacamole, tortillas, tacos, beans are just delicious. They have a good selection of mexican beers to complete the experience I will go again.

We had a wonderful experience dining at Alma Cocina Downtown during our recent stay in Atlanta! The location was incredibly convenient—just a short walk from The Courtland Grand Hotel. The atmosphere is posh and upscale while still feeling welcoming, and the menu offers a wide variety of options. Our smaller team of three especially loved the Octopus and Bison Empanadas during our Monday dinner. Later that week, we returned with a larger group of 14 for a Thursday evening dinner, and the service remained just as quick, friendly, and attentive. A special thank-you to General Manager Michele Magnifico, who was extremely helpful in securing our large-team reservation a week in advance. We couldn’t have asked for a smoother experience. Highly recommend Alma Cocina Downtown for both small group dinners and larger team gatherings!

The food at the restaurant was delicious, and the tapas style of serving facilitated great camaraderie at dinner. Great atmosphere, too.

The guacamole and salsa were very good. The entrees were only okay. The chicken was dry and had to be smothered in sauce. The beef was good but nothing special. The service was not overly friendly but pretty efficient. Overall it was okay experience with a lot of room for improvement.

There are so many better options than this for great mexican food. They dont provide chips and salsa- everything has a price and yet it is not anything special. Some tacos are signature at over $30----really? Still same flour tortilla- not even heated so not sure why the price tag. For the price paid here you could eat 3 meals elsewhere. Just because they are located next to Ritz, they must figure they can charge the high prices for minimal food.

Two of us wandered in off the street hungry for lunch, place looked pretty inviting so we sat at the bar. The young man tending it was very friendly and helpful. He recommended the steak street tacos. Excellent choice. They were delicious. They're also only available at lunch, (not sure why). The beer selection was fair, nothing special, but the margarita list was quite satisfactory. All in all, a solid choice and worth a visit if you're in the area.

I was arranging a dinner for 4 in downtown where we wanted to talk. Alma Cocina was convenient and I called to make a reservation to eat in the atrium. This was the night before and I was assured I could. We got there and they unapologetically seated us in the main restaurant next to the bar and TV (with loud music). I said I had a confirmed reservation and they said they had a private party booked for the atrium. They were surprised that I wasn't told that the night before. But yeh have a drink (not on them mind you). We literally couldn't hear each other. I complained to the manager and again "oh I'm sorry that shouldn't have happened but ...." And the food was totally overpriced and mediocre.. Never again

Cool looking spot. However, we went for food and drinks. Margaritas were nothing but sour mix. The queso was watery, and the other appetizers weren’t great. But yet, I still had to pay too much.

Phenominal service, Great ambiance, Creative drinks ( the tequila over the cube of ingredients was a hit) and scrumptious food... The table ordered the fried chihuahua cheese, the trio of guac and the pork belly pintxo small bite for apps. we loved every bite. We had the Fried Cod Street Tacos, The Roasted Chicken Mole, The Chicken al Carbon signature taco as well as the Achiote rubbed Pork Chop. Everything was raved about. For the Bday guys bday our waitress brought him a piece of the Coconut Tres Leches which he is still talking about.Gluten free/friendly options... we went back for a second night!

My wife and myself enjoyed our dinner the service was excellent. We enjoyed an appetizer of octopus that was delicious.

We went with a large group and our server was really accommodating. The food here is great and there is an excellent atmosphere. They make a great margarita!

We both really enjoyed our cocktails- super yummy and easy to go down. Yum. The waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable, and her recommendations were spot on. The guacamole sample was amazing- so delicious!! The ceviche was yum, but I had to chop it up a big as I don’t like big chunks in mine. A good helping of it though. Overall, this place did not disappoint!!

My daughter and I had dinner here celebrating her 17th Birthday with a weekend getaway to Atlanta. She is vegetarian, and there were plenty of options, however, we ordered 2 appetizers and were so happy with our order. The fried Chihuahua Cheese and Guacamole & Salsa Tasting were fabulous to share!! Our server was Katie and she was terrific, on top of refills of our chips and beverages! Would love to go back on another visit to sample more of the menu!

We were recommended Alma Cocina and wow they right were they to recommend this fantastic restaurant. Not just superb food served by great staff (Katie thanks) but truly a great dining experience. Would definitely return the next time we’re in Atlanta.

Absolutely outstanding. Terrific mix of flavors and cultures. I tried the salsa sampler and all three were excellent. The mixed chips were the right addition as the plantain chips were perfect with the tomatillo salsa. I moved on to the Mexican White Shrimp tacos. Outstanding. Highly recommended. Finally, the sea bass ceviche was excellent. Service was excellent.

I was walking around downtown trying to find dinner and most places were already closed. I was grateful to see Alma Cocina was open. There was a 45 minute wait to be seated, but as a solo traveler, I was able to get bar seating. Service was slow but friendly. The sangria was delicious and I tried the fried avocado tacos which were out of this world! Highly recommend.

I stayed at the Westin for a week for business and ended up eating here twice. The place has amazing food and I highly recommend the Chicken Mole. Very well prepared in a modern fashion where you can actually taste the high quality of the food and prep. Not heavy and covered in sauce but rather light clean cooking for a change! Very nice place and make a reservation because it is packed. I did not have a drink but I can bet they are awesome also.

The staff treat you like royalty. Definitely try the fried cheese. Share lots of small plates so you get to taste more of this authentic Mexican restaurant. Best margaritas you'll ever drink. Ask for a booth although tables are situated for easy conversation. Vast wine and tequila menu. Plenty to eat if you are a vegetarian. Make the reservation, you won't be disappointed.

Alma Cocina serves some delicious Mexican specialties. Make sure to come with appetite! We tried different dishes, but the Signature Tacos were our favorites. Make sure to reserve a table.

Very good restaurant with fantastic food and atmosphere, fresh and good ingredients with a touch of ‘modern cuisine’ . Worth visiting !

We came here and the food was ok. $11 per drink and $21 per entree. The menu isn’t large and because it’s upscale Mexican it wasn’t familiar. The atmosphere was nice and the service was good.

Yum! Our group of 6 included carnivores, vegetarians, and two somewhat picky children (one with a nut allergy), and all of us came out pleasantly stuffed. We shared the guacamole trio, a beet salad, and plantains for the table. I loved the mushroom and butternut squash sopapilla, while my less-adventurous vegetarian children went for avocado tacos and potato empanadas. The meat-eaters seemed equally happy (and the menu offered plenty of fish dishes, too, though none of us happened to order them). Service was great, and our waitress handled my daughter's nut allergy with professional care, double-checking on all the ingredients and substituting a safe sauce instead of a pesto that contained nuts. All this at a convenient downtown location just blocks from our hotel. We recommend!

If you are looking for a yummy margarita, then this is your stop. The food is very good, we had salads and the empanadas but the drinks were the star of the evening.

Food were delicious and fast service, it was a bad weather weekend and many businesses were closed but they stay open to honor our reservation

Very glad Alma Cocina is open again. One of our favorite spots in downtown ATL. Service wasn’t as good as before, but the quality is still there. Good fish tacos, ordered the octopus, but they were already out of it during happy hour, so we ordered shellfish ceviche which was pretty good.

Booked Alma Cocina Downtown for convenience and had a most enjoyable food experience. From the delightful margheritas, the guacamole/salsa tasting to the Cocoa Flan dessert, everything was delicious. The unexpected treat was Fried Chihuahua Cheese entree. All this and excellent service from Ricky. A must on your next trip to Atlanta.

Stumbled across this place during a recent business trip and was pleasantly surprised. Very friendly service, delicious cocktails and wonderful food. Highly recommend the 3 salsa/3 guacamole sampler served with tortilla and plantain chips.

As someone who almost always tries mexican wherever i go in the world, this is a shining star in the American south! The food is absolutely amazing, with good service and atmosphere! Their signature tacos is a must as well as their small bites in habanero sauce. Only drawback is that its often crowded (and ive been here several times) and their tap water (as anywhere in Atlanta) has a distinct chlorine taste to those who are unused to it. Overall - among atlantas top mexican places!

The atmosphere was beautiful. Imagine if you will a restaurant where the music is not screaming at you and you can actually carry on a conversation! Just imagine ♥♥♥. Had a desire for scallops and BOY did they deliver. Those pan seared scallops were out of this world. SO creamy on the inside so perfectly seasoned, delicious. Atmosphere great, scallops spectacular. Service was good. Approved. Not a big fan of Mexican food so cannot tell you about those dishes, but the Scallops and Shellfish ceviche YES!

We had a great dinner out here - and what a treat to eat one of my FAVORITE genres of food, while combining that with a beautiful ambiance and top notch service. They have single bite "tasting" appetizers - you must order the Pork Belly, and then do not allow yourself to order another 6 of them, because there's plenty of other amazing food to try. The lamb tacos were my second favorite item that we tried - if you like lamb, you have to give this a whirl! They also have their own special margarita made with their custom tequila - a perfect blend of flavors and not too sweet. I'll be coming back here again!

This is our second time here. We come every year we are in town for America’s Mart. The Guacamole is out of this world!!!

Really lively and contemporary feel to this place.. The food was decent.. the service was OK but they were very busy. The menu was complicated for first time guests and the servers reel off the pre learnt script of what is on the menu... this is good, but does not always answer your questions. Guacamole flight, starter to share, main each, cocktsil each and 2 glasses of wine was about $170 including the tip

Excellent food - definitely try the sampler with three different salsas and three different guacs! It was great. Good service, great margaritas with a variety to choose from. Ole'!

Went to this restaurant late evening on a business trip and had a great experience. The service and food was excellent. I especially enjoyed the pork loin tacos and “flour-less” chocolate cake.

My son recently got married and we had our welcome dinner at Alma Cocina. Our dinner there was great! Mark set everything up and it all went smoothly. All of our guests commented that the restaurant was wonderful, food great, and ambiance lovely. We even went back there another night during our stay in Atlanta. Could not have been happier with our experience.

Went for dinner, food was good, service very good. But the night was marred by the homeless people who hoard the area hounding us when going in/out. One even came in, had a fight with an employee & turned on the fire alarm as he left. Not a good way to end the evening. Would only return during daylight hours, they need to hire security at night in this neighborhood.

This restaurant was absolutely delicious and he had numerous choices to choose from despite having to be gluten and dairy free. Mercedes was excellent as a waitress and gave great recommendations, quick and friendly service. Highly recommended

I'm here at the restaurant it's 9:20 PM it clearly says that it's open till 10 PM online. When we came to the door no one even bothered to come see what we need to notify us that they were closed. It was very awkward looking into a full restaurant and the door is locked and confusion sets in. Is it open is it not open. We still don't know what's going on we're out of here on to the next spot. If this is the service imagine what the food is like imagine what the kitchen is like.

Looks like a tourist chain where you should expect same-old Mexican glop, then you encounter the young and cheerful staff and discover the inventive and tasty dishes. Everything I had here was good so can’t recommend any particular dish. Ask the staff, who were one of the highlights if sometimes in need of more training (vacuuming carpet next to our table...no!).

First off I'm bias because I do not care for Mexican food as much as my wife does. But let me tell you as a "Foodie originally from NYC" This place was Eclectic, with great Ambiance and the Menu (though at times seaming limited) meaning: This is no Taco Truck so you cant mix and match mostly. But they do try to accommodate and did incredible fire on all cylinders when we reserved and got a great seating location which they have several. The menu and the Food Items were an Amazing Experience and again what I mean is, it was beyond good to the palete! The empanadas, the Chihuahua cheese and the shellfish Ceviche were the best I ever had and my "foodie experience and resume" extends from New York, Hawaii and Atlanta to California back to Key West Florida! Trust me You will never Forget this place! The last time I ever felt like this was when I stayed near the Bellagio hotel in Vegas! Do yourself a favor See this Real Chef Chad Clevenger along with the other 3 sous's and I understand they also have 5 different other styled and type restaurants in the greater Atlanta area. I must now investigate and get back to you. 👀

We had a large group and the service was still quick and efficient.

We had a nice dinner at this place. Large space that was quite busy on a Monday night, this place offers modern Mexican food. I tried the shrimp and scallops main and it was very nice. The guacamole was also delicious and service was great

After checking into our hotel nearby we asked for dinner recommendations. Concierge suggested Alma Cocina. It was a Thursday and around 8:00 and we were able to be seated right away. The restaurant is in the lobby area of the Ritz Carlton and really beautiful inside. Our server was great, giving us suggestions and making sure our two daughters, ages 6 and 10, got their food right way. This isn't your typical Mexican you may expect, heavy on taco and fajita options. My husband and I had the blood orange margarita which was one of the best we've ever had. We then started with the short rib empanadas and chips with salsa and guacamole. All so good! Husband took a chance and ordered the Tomahawk pork chop. It was beyond tender and he said it was the best pork chop he had ever had. Our kids even took a bite and wanted more. The kids had fried chicken tacos which they enjoyed. I ordered two small plates and both were amazing. The camarones a la diabla which was a spicy shrimp in red sauce a top a slice of ciabatta and scallop and pea puree plate. Definitely recommend this restaurant!

Get the street tacos! They were amazing! Great environment for a good meal. This group never disappoints

Great food with a new spin on Mexican! We had the sample of the 3 sauces and 3 guacamole’s,avocado empanada ,tamale made with bacon masa, ,and fried guacamole street tacos!

Since the restaurants and the street were full from the Peach Bowl our choices were limited around PeachTree Street. We thought we take a chance of this place because it wasn't crowded and we like Mexican. However this is not our type of Mexican. The guac to us was ok nothing special. Service was okay. Food was just okay. Nothing great and it was not cheap.

Fun place. Good food. Our waitress Abby was great. She was very attentive and made sure we had everything we wanted. Highly recommend this restaurant.

The food was amazing and the cocktails delicious! We were recommended Alma as a Mexican soul food restaurant and we were not disappointed. Chicharrones, fried cheese, home made tamales and Margaritas to die for. I got the spicy one and it was great. We will definitely be back.

When in Atlanta, eat some Mexican, right? We got both the guacamole trio and the salsa trio with chips and plaintains. It was all tasty. I had a white fish and my friend had the carnitas tacos. Place is modern, nicely decorated and super clean. Service was good and food was even better.

Our hotel clerk mentioned Alma Cocina in passing and it seemed a step above some of the tourist food downtown. Deciding to go was a great decision. For about the same price as dinner at tourist oriented Hard Rock Café, we had world class food that was one of the best meals I’ve had in Atlanta. A follow-up visit for a birthday celebration affirmed the quality of the food. Fried Chihuahua cheese came as a big bubbly cheesy hunk in a lava bowl that you smear on tortillas. It was delicious if a little greasy. Chicharrones have been downsized from an enormous bowl of freshly fried pork skins to an individual portion of three or four skins drizzled with a chili, lime, chorizo mayo. Crunchy, warm and delectable, they are terrific even without the drizzle. Entrees run the gamut, including lots of seafood, and we sampled a variety of items. The seafood lover ordered a ceviche special only to discover they were out. An entrée of pan roasted snapper with a guajillo chili glaze was ordered in its place. It was just about perfect and there wasn’t a crumb left on the plate. The meat lovers ordered the Achiote Rubbed Pork Chop with pork belly marmalade and it was loved, as was the Ribeye. The Roasted Chicken Mole with mashed plantains and green beans was tasty, but down right pedestrian compared to other offerings. The Chili-Rubbed Duck Breast, sampled on an earlier visit, drew rave reviews from a picky eater. Alma Cocina also has a nice drink program and we discovered margaritas that quickly became favorites: Just Say Black, a spicy margarita and Naranjarita which is made with a blood orange infusion and orange brandy. The rim is dusted with sugar instead of salt. The food at this contemporary Mexican and Latin American eatery is unique and spectacular and deserves a visit.

Slow slow service at the bar tonight. Tried to charge regular price for happy hour prices on drinks. Couldn’t count change back

Outstanding chips and salsa, great chicken tacos. Service by Jordan was also top notch. Will be back next time in town.

Top notch modern Mexican cuisine. We went on a Friday night after a conference, and there was a small crowd. Neat environment attached to the Ritz Ordered the salsa trio (all were solid), and the street chicken tacos which were solid as well. Margs were great! It was somewhat pricy, though.

Alma Cocina! Amazing cocktails and delicious food! This was probably my 5th visit to this spot that may be overlooked by locals. (It's located on the ground floor of a downtown office building.) But, make not mistake, it is a GEM! You must get the fried cheese. It is the stuff of dreams! And the short rib empanadas are mouth watering. You literally can't order wrong on the cocktail or food menu. And our server (I can't remember her name unfortunately) was wonderful and helped create a fun and enjoyable dining experience for us. We had a great time and we'll definitely be back soon!

First of all, we are here in town for a conference and this restaurant came highly recommended. We showed up with no reservation, but they got us in in less than an hour. It was worth the wait and more. Our server, Christine, was soooo knowledgeable about all of the food on the menu and made fabulous recommendations. We took every suggestion and shared it family style. Everything from the three guacamole go the three cheese chiwauwua was delicious. We love it so much we are more than likely heading back tomorrow night. Great restaurant!!!

We came after dinner for drinks and didn’t have a great experience. They would not seat the four of us at a table even though we all wanted to order cocktails and there were plenty of open tables and no wait list. We finally managed to get two seats at the bar for four of us but still better than being asked to sit out in the atrium on a bench with our drinks which two different servers told us we would have to do if no room at the bar. Margaritas were fine but they seemed to struggle with anything else. Didn’t know how to make a caipirinha. My brother in law’s mojito was not great. Someone else sitting near us sent back a mojito and called it “disgusting” LOL Menu seemed limited and a bit complicated - not enough traditional choices. We originally had wanted to return for summer but changed our minds.

Wow, perfect food, amazing flavor. The personal was awesome . Perfect services. Fresh vegetales, great meat. The guacamole is great.

The best Mexican restaurant hands down in the downtown. The food is of high quality. It's a little on the pricey side but usually worth it.

Great service and nice food, although not quite as authentic as expected. Would definitely recommend the crispy fish tacos and the salsa & guac tasting.

Had a business dinner and was gladly surprised by the menu offering, with authentic dishes such as tlayudas, a cochinita pibil tamal (very good), grilled octopus, esquite, frijoles charros, etc. A worthy stop when in Atlanta. Excellent service, although a little too loud.

I visited this restaurant while I was in town at a conference across the street. It’s listed on FindMeGFree as a safe place for people with Celiac disease to eat. The menu lists “ngf” items - those that cannot be made gluten free and most other items are naturally gf. The waiter at the bar seemed to understand what gluten is (ex. She knew beer batter wasn’t ok). She asked the kitchen my specific questions about specific items. I had a fantastic $11 margarita and ordered the carnitas street tacos. They were bland and the pork was dry. The side of plantains was lukewarm and the mix of sweet agave and salty chihuahua cheese was odd. Entrees were $30k.

My hubby surprised me our last night in Atlanta. I lived in Oaxaca in Huatulco for over a year. This restaurant was a trip back in time. I wish I could have eaten the whole. The food flooded me with wonderful memories of friends. Chicharrones Huitlacoche Empanadas Chicken Tinga Verde Churros & Two Sauces And a few too many Naranjarita yum Our waiter was beyond perfect. This is a 12 out of 10 Yes must eat at if you're in Atlanta.

The best thing I can say about Alma Cocina (downtown location) is the atmosphere is very nice and staff was helpful and attentive. That said, there were three (3) mistakes made on our lunch order (party of four). Alma Cocina describes itself as "Contemporary Mexican Cuisine" however, the food was underwhelming and unimaginative. The guacamole appetizer, though fresh enough, appears to have been plated using an ice cream scoop leaving the impression it was taken from a large tub... makes you wonder, with nothing to cook how difficult can it be to make guacamole to order. The vegan options seemed to be improvised. The Chicken Mole was tough... possibly precooked before reheating and smothering with Mole sauce. If you are a Mexican restaurant and can't make a "Signature" Mole dish... you should leave it off the menu. Unfortunately, it is very hard to find a good, authentic Mexican restaurant in Atlanta and Alma Cocina continues that tradition. P.S. The mere fact that there was only one paper towel left (to dry hands) in the men's restroom tells me that somebody it not paying attention to detail.

Great food and atmosphere! Will did a fantastic job making recommendations on the menu. Amazing pork belly appetizer...had to order another round! The calamari was some of the best I’ve eaten! The plantains are a must and are better than we’ve gotten in Costa Rica. The desserts are wonderfully made, but our favorite were the churros! We’ll definitely be back on our next trip to Atlanta!

We have visited Atlanta many times and have never visited this restaurant. We were absolutely delighted by the food and outstanding service by Ashley. An excellent choice in Atlanta. We will be back!

Sat at the bar. Nice 👍 chips and a trio of salsas (maybe a little watery). Exceptional calamari. Super soft. Then some volcanic cheese dish which I’ve never seen before that looked as though it was straight out of the nuclear reactor (a must try for the visual impact even if a little salty)

A great downtown gem. Close to the Hilton (an easy walk.) Get all the things your server says. Ours recommended a great margarita and a chicken mole (both I are not usually my taste) and I LOVED them BOTH! Great food all around. And fantastic service and drinks.

I had a few different small plates while in town for business and a margarita. I sat at the bar because the wait was two hours (!) on a Sunday night. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The guacamole was bland ( think it just needed more salt), but the two things I had after that were excellent, especially the ash cured steelhead trout. It was one of my favorite things I've ever had. The fried cauliflower sopa was really good, too. While it didn't bother me, I would say that flavor-wise, the focus of the dish was black beans, not cauliflower.

Well designed restaurant. Casual but upscale. The food was deliciously authentic and upscale. Terrific cocktails. Nice work!

I had the avocado street tacos. These were great and filling! We started with the traditional guacamole. It was ok. Not bad just nothing special. That said, I would still order it again.
Amazing food & atmosphere!
We had an AMAZING dinner at Alma Cocina in downtown Atlanta. Started with the Guacamole & Salsa taster plate… a MUST HAVE! They come with fresh crispy corn tortillas that were delicious. We both had tacos (spicy shrimp for me and Korean beef for my husband) and there was tons food and great flavours! Highly recommend the blood orange margarita!! We will be back when we return to ATL
