Authentic Turkish Food

By Rose |

Family surprised me by going to Bodum to try their Turkish food - which greatly reminded us of the wonderful food eaten in Turkey. Friendly staff person explained food options. We shared several of their food choices and liked the Yogurtlu Havuc or carrot appetizer and mucver or zucchini pancakes best. Would definitely return!

Felt like Turkey

By Foodtwosome |

Two of the three tables around us were filled with boisterous Turkish speakers. Clear why they come back here. Warm, comfortable family restaurant with a modest menu of great food. We worried the new owners might have changed things. Well, whatever changes only improved the food. We shared the appetizer plate (pick 4 or seven or eight dishes). Carrot and sweet pepper spreads were very good, but eggplant & kefka wowed us. We shard the manti dinner --- plump little dumplings of seasoned beef in a yogurt sauce. Outstanding! Half carafe of wine ($15) was very good with the food. Back again soon for chicken, or gyro, or grape leaves, or lamb.

Felt like we were back in Turkey

My husband started off with his favorite drink, Rocky. Our son had Ephesus beer. The appetizers were great – our lives and stuffed grape leaves. Not liking that they didn't have my husbands favorite, Doner kebab, he opted for the lamb meatballs in a sauce. He said that dish was OK. I love lamb and therefore had their other kebab which were on a skewer – chunks of lamb, onions, zucchini, and peppers. It was delicious. And my son had a dish that reminded me of gnocchi with a side salad. In all more than enough food! The walls were adorned with photos of the owners family. He also stopped by the table to chat a bit when my husband said, Merhaba! Service was very good, and server was friendly. My only wish is a wider menu selection.

Great neighborhood gem

I visited this restaurant for Seattle Restaurant Week and loved its food, ambiance and great prices. It has an interesting wine list that includes Turkish wines. The food was fabulous. Definitely going there again as it’s a new favorite.

Excellent experience

Small place, so best with a reservation. Great smells and great food come out of the small kitchen. Limited menu, which serves the place well. Everything we had was good. Fun experience in Wallingford.

Authentic Middle Eastern Food in Wallingford area of Seattle

By Alice F |

After moving away from a favorite Mediterranean restaurant, we've been searching for a delicious, authentic option near our new home. Almanqal Mediterranean Grill was recommended to us and we really enjoyed our meal. It is a cozy restaurant that serves all of our favorites. Everything we tried, Chicken Shawarma, Humus, Pita Bread, and Kafta Kebab were excellent. We can't wait to return to work our way through the menu!

Never disappointing and always great!

By Foodtwosome |

This has been one of our go-to places during the pandemic and it has never disappointed us! Call ahead to make sure the lamb shanks are available. Generous portion (two orders meant leftover for lunch), “fall off the bone” tender and delicious. We also love the pickled eggplant (really more salad-like than pickle) but the dolma, fried cauliflower, and pita bread are great, too.

I keep coming back!

I've been here several times and each time it's been great! Delicious food, wonderful friendly (and fast) service, and it's not noisy! The owner/chef is wonderful and can answer any questions. The portions are nicely sized, and always very fresh! Good for sharing (or not). Don't leave without having the baklava (and the uzo-like drink that goes along)!

Exceptionally Tasty Healthy& on the spot Fresh!

The chef knows how to perfectly season all of his dishes creating a wonderful tasty depth! We frequent this place on a regular basis and have tried every dish through 2024 to the present 2025! Haki makes every experience delectable, interesting and friendly! The food and the atmosphere speaks ALL HEART. The fried cauliflower, greek salad, chicken, beef and lamb dishes are perfection. The falafel is the best we’ve ever had! We’re very happy to have such an ongoing friendly and excellent foodie experience every week! We do take-out at times- with even our leftovers (a rare event)always tasting fresh on the next day. My daughter loves her leftovers for breakfast topped with a fried egg or two. A great experience for foodies who love healthy, deliciously seasoned fresh food with many options . Almanqal IS the PLACE! Generous portions for a very reasonable price!

Good local cuisine

By TXMARTINS |

This is a good family restaurant in the heart of downtown Wallingford. Owned by a family that is frequently present this is a cozy, friendly place with good food. Our only complaint is that the prices are a little high for the portions that you get. I had a delicious kabob, but it was just one kabob. Nice for a date night, not something we would repeat often.

Excellent food and nice people

This small restaurant is cozy and friendly with great food. We ordered small plates, entrees, and dessert and everything was fresh and delicious.

Genuine Turkish Food

By Henry M |

This small restaurant, decorated with large photos of several generations of the owner's family in Turkey, has a friendly atmosphere, Sedat is a welcoming host and the service is good. I enjoy the tasty mezes, salads excellent Koftes (lamb meatballs in a delicious sauce) and the tender lamb kebabs.

Great basic Turkish food

The restaurant is under new ownership and they do not have a liquor license yet; however they were just fine with us going to the wine store next door to purchase some! Food was excellent with good sized portions. The lamb chops were fabulous. Very attentive service, although it was very quiet. The menu is simpler than the previous one, but just as delicious.

Bodrum Bistro revisited

By Nann Z |

Alas, Bodrum Bistro has had to discontinue its excellent weekend brunch. There are many very disappointed diners, including us. The reason is that they were unable to find a weekend chef, and Saddam, the owner/chef cannot work seven days a week. Too bad about the chef.

FOOD 5 STARS, EVERYTHING ELSE 3 STARS

By Dennis W |

Food was excellent, All four members of our party totally pleased, It is a very small place and we probably made a mistake going on a Saturday night. Packed and noisy, hard to hear table mates talking. Would not recommend for a quiet romantic dinner, nor for someone in wheel chair, just not enough room. Service very friendly, but slow. Despite this drawbacks, the food is worthy of a try.

Brunch Turkish Delight

By Stiv_Wa |

I have been to the Bodrum Bistro a couple of times with family and friends. We have never been disappointed! The dinners are authentic and tasty as is the brunch! Staff are warm and hospitable. Parking is scarce in front, but can be found around back or on the side streets. A must if you like Turkish food and in the Wallingford area of Seattle!

Great Neighborhood Bistro

By Wendy K |

This place is small, and when we dined it was packed. The small serving/cooking crew was running themselves ragged. We got served amazingly fast, all things considered. Reasonably priced house wine very drinkable. Mezzo plate appetizer perfect for two people and very tasty, as was the beet salad. We also shared the chicken kebabs, which my husband liked better than I did—I think they were thigh meat and I do not like any part of the chicken except the breast!

We vote this the best new Mediterranean!

An Excellent Taste of Turkish Cuisine

By walthorticulture |

Our first visit proved it was all it was touted to be. Even on a busy Friday night, attentive service, excellent food in a vibrant setting. Our Turkish friend claimed it was the best Turkish food he had here over other local restaurants. Zucchini pancakes were very tasty as was the shisk kabab. Even Turkish wines and beer are offered.

Amazing

A neighborhood gem worth travelling to

By Nann Z |

I do not know why I have not written about Bodrum Bistro before. It is celebrating its first anniversary, and we have been there many times. .I have eaten my way through the whole menu, and everything is good. This time I had the special, ground lamb on a skewer, and it was very good. But the really spectacular dish is chicken in a phyllo crust....I don't remember its name. There are only two desserts, baklava and rice pudding, and both are great. Sadat, the chef/owner,is a genius with spices, and I think that is what makes this such an extraordinary restaurant. Service is pleasant, place is small, so not noisy, and ambience is casual. Wine list is small, but interesting, and prices are reasonable.

Well prepared food. Portions are on the small side

By Heronknd |

The atmosphere is very nice and the servers are quite friendly. I had high hopes this could be one of the ones we go to again and again but we found the portions too small and the prices a bit high.

Bodrum bistro revisited

By Nann Z |

Bodrum Bistro has been one of our favorite places, and now it has instituted brunch on weekends, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. All different food from dinner, but equally good. I don't remember the Turkish names for what we ate, but, no matter, everything we had was delicious. I imagine everything else was just as good. We couldn't have hit upon the only good things on the menu by accident.

FANTASTIC AND DELICIOUS

What a great gem to find! Absolutely delicious and a cozy warm feeling of eating with family. Oh...the BEST part.. the baklava. Undeniably a place to go. So glad we found it!!! YUMMY!!!! We will be back!!! Thank you for the great food, fantastic service, and an all around great dining experience.

Fabulous food!

By Bingitt |

Our friends from out of town wanted all ethnic food and after much pick and choose for something authentic in the Mediterranean-Turkish category we chose this place. OMG was it a great choice! We ordered about 12 items from the menu and everything was top notch great , tasty, fresh , amazing and great service! And you know how everyone claims to have the best baklava? Well this baklava was hands down the best I’ve ever had. Friends were happy and this is a definite keeper for us! I highly recommend it and we will return!
