We have been here twice already and we tried the pumpkin muffin, banana bread, carrot cake, oatmeal raisin cookie and they were all delicious and fresh! I never brag about banana bread ever!! exept... maybe when I had it in Maui!! so let me tell ya this was as good as that one. Apple danish wasnt my cup ot tea here, the filling was too acid. Tons of seating, inside and outside. Samples are offer. Coffe bar. Friendly staff. Why go to the infamous coffe chain nearby with horrible parking, when you can have a cozy get together with very tasty pastries/meals at Alons. Will try for lunch next time!

i actually prefer this location to the morningside location. more room to walk and a lot more items to purchase. only problem is that it's OTP!

I had not been here in years. I was greeted upon arrival by Kat - very nice lady. This restaurant/bakery has been in the Perimeter area since 2007. It is a staple in this community. They offer a bakery, catering and on site dining. Two things that set them apart is the wood fire pizza oven and the beer and wine bar. They were very busy at lunch with guests seated and in take out lines. They offer varied wine selections and great gift and basket items. This is like coming to an attraction - guests will pay for an experience and that is what is offered. The food is made fresh daily in store - they offer an additional location in the Virginia Highlands area. They offer outdoor and inside seating it can handle around 100 customers. They also have a great selection of bottled tea, soda and juices. I ordered a sampler with four salads - egg salad, saffron rice, chicken salad and the fingerling potato salad - it was all outstanding. The restaurant is self service. I finished off my meal with some chocolate fudge cookies - talked with Wendy in the bakery - a gem. They also offer various holiday meals and specific market meals - bar mitzvah etc. The clients here have been coming here for years and know what they like. The location is great - Perimeter area by the mall. They also offer a brunch on the weekends. All is all a very relaxing lunch in a unique setting. I will be back here sooner than later. Great place to buy gifts for your clients.

Alon's is by far the best food experience in Atlanta. Expect incomparable food in the Atlanta area, and a wonderful gourmet market as well, where one can guy delights from so many corners of the world. This is a sophisticated yet cozy and friendly place, where chic and casual meet with ease. Where you can eat delicious foods that are fancy or not, as every choice is available. Alon and his wife Janine are to be congratulated for the work of a lifetime, and an achievement in an area that has still a lot to grow and learn compared to other world cities. Go Alon!! Go Atlanta!!

My husband and I picked up breakfast pastries from here twice in two days because we enjoyed it so much! A little pricy, but well worth it. The market had a great selection of gourmet cheeses, olive oils, baked goods, and even paper party supplies. I will definitely make a point to return here on my next trip.

We grabbed some sandwiches while on our way to an appointment. Delicious tuna salad and everyone in my party enjoyed their sandwiches as well. Will be returning to explore the other options they offer when we have more time!

While Alon's is a little pricey, it definitely serves amazingly delicious quality food! My husband and I usually pop in on the weekends while out running errands for a quick bite to eat or to even pick up a few treats to cook at home. There are always a lot of people coming and going, as well as something new to see, taste, and try. You won't be disappointed, especially if you like the idea of fresh market/bakery!

A colleague and I enjoyed a salad and a sandwich, both tasted good. This is a busy lunch location which would benefit from better line organization and signage to create a logical flow through the store. First timers will be lost trying to work out what to order where

I didn't think much of this place when i first heard of it but after i ate their i want to make sure i stop by here everytime i go to Atlanta. It reminded me of Alessi's Deli in Tampa w/ wine available for purchase.

We came all the way from VA just to get cheese for our weekend getaway in the mountains. We love the knowledgeable service when we want to select cheeses for a certain palate. Amazing selection and never any hesitation with the samples. We have enjoyed panini in the past and wonderful breads. Always helpful, cheerful employees and delicious food.

This place is a visit to Europe. Every station features baked goods , candy and cheese from all over the world. I love the atmosphere and the departments to explore. My favorite is the cinnamon twists in the bakery.

Very good dessert options. Truffle cake and chocolate mousse with raspberry were excellent. We also ordered macarons. Pistachio flavored was excellent.

We decided to visit because we want to start trying more local restaurants and we were not disappointed!! There is limited seating but it didn't matter to us the food was so delicious, I would definitely go back, without a doubt!!!!

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE MORNING SIDE LOCATION!! Many years ago l worked for Alon's bakery when the Dunwoody location. So I came in to pick up an order while my husband parked the car. The blond hair woman ( l think she is the owner) retrieved my order. I also purchased breakfast and other dessert she seemed friendly until my french husband walked in. Her attitude towards me and him changed she suddenly became cold 🥶 unfriendly simply because we're a mixed couple. Being a Jewish bakery you'd think she be understanding towards others who are different but yet they expect Americans to like and accept them. SMH. Needless l will never go back! Unfortunately for me l couldn't cancel the order and spent also most $100. NEVER GOING BACK!!

In Athens to visit my son and he said there was a great place to have lunch that he HAD to take me. I’m always ready for a great lunch even it’s 58 miles away (one-way). It was worth the trip. The place is a combination of market and deli and reminds me of Carmine’s in Palm Beach Gardens. We spent a great deal of time looking around before ordering lunch sampling cheeses and picking up soup mixes for cooking at home. For lunch we ordered two freshly made sandwiches: roast beef (rare) with lettuce, tomato with balsamic aioli and the other sandwich was peppered turkey with avocado, sprouts, tomato. Both were incredible. There are three locations in Atlanta with this location offering outdoor seating that’s covered for bad weather. Highly recommend this place.

We stay very close to this place and it was our go to place for early breakfast and last minute dinner plans. My husband and I loved weekend breakfast as they have different special menu items each time. We love their lamb sausage, omelettes, mini sliders, wood fire pizza and their bakery. Ambiance and their service is good. The grocery items in shops are good too. We will be moving to a different location and I wish they have more branches. Will miss our summer early morning breakfast after our walk!!!

Great-selection of salads, sandwiches, middle eastern dishes. Can roam around then order and they will bring it to you. Very informal.

Very disappointed. Very crowded, areas to sit and eat were not clean, patio was overheated. The food was mediocre. Why do people adore this restaurant?

Good combination of fresh food - soups, salads, made-your-own-salad, bakeries, coffees, wines, beers, sweets. Atmosphere is really nice too.

The is corteus and fiendly. The caffeteria has a lot of choises! The market is rather pricy but offers a lot of interesting products that even the best international farmers markets do not. Impressive patissery (I'm not a 'cake' person, but I could not stop eating theirs). Their expresso and cappuccino are pretty much the best I've had in the USA since I moved here from Italy in 1999. But my very special treat is THE BAKERY! My two absolute favorite are the cinnamon sticks and the ciabatta bread. The variety and quality of breads is also impressive. Trying to figure out what to pick when you stand in front of that counter full of all kinds of crossants, muffins, scones etc., is somewhat wonderfully overwhelming, and the feeling soon turns into sheer happiness!

The food is amazing and there is so much stuff to choose from. My personal favorite is the soups. They have different soups everyday. This is one of the best places I've ever been too

I sipped a delicious latte while waiting for my two eggs and bagel. Many goodies besides coffee.wish we had one in my home town!! and breakfast. I

Alon's Bakery and Market is a stop that I look forward to when traveling in the area. On this visit, three of us went for a late lunch following a long flight into Atlanta. I had roasted chicken served with garlic mashed potatoes and oven roasted vegies. EVERYTHING was wonderful. After my meal I purchased chicken salad, brioche rolls, cookies and grilled asparagus to take back to my hotel room. I had amazing midnight feasts for two evenings! I will definitely return to Alon's and happily recommend this gem to others.

We don't have anything like this back home! I had a cinnamon stick and an almond croissant. Both were better than I expected. My wife and I are going back tomorrow. The weather was just warm enough to have our pastry and coffee outside. The market has a good selection of wine and cheeses.

1st time there and will be a regular spot. The market had so much to offer and the atmosphere was great. A little noisy but nothing outrageous. Would recommend to folks for sure.

The coffee here is excellent. Also, really like the breads, pastries, and the bagels are of a very high quality. The staff are also very friendly, helpful, and provide a fast service. There is also some seating outside, which is nice if the sun is out. But this place is very expensive. It cost me $25 for two bagels and two coffees!!!

Stopped by for some organic goodies and coffee - unfortunately, I did not try any of the hot foods or fresh baked goods (I know, I missed out!) - but I will be returning soon hopefully to have some brunch. I love that they have a unique selection of goods here, especially that they carry King of Pops popsicles. This place is definitely on my radar now.

I got a large pepperoni pizza that costed me $16. The pizza was not good at all and it was not even large enough to completely feed one person. This place is way over priced for the quality and amount of food served.

I've had different dishes for lunch here, prepared while I wait, and all have been good. Also, I've purchased items to take home, such as crab cakes, vegetables, and smoked peppered turkey. But the main attraction, at least for me, are the scones and muffins. Take them home and warm them up for breakfast. Yummy!

Sandwiches still awesome but getting priced out of my budget. With the new places opening up all over ATL, Alon's needs to be careful in view of its competition, i.e. Yallah, Fred's, Star Provision, etc. for great sandwiches. Have car, will travel.

Whenever Im in the area I try to stop in for a coffee and croissant, or one of their lunch time sandwiches etc. You can tell that they use quality ingredients, it really shows through in the finished product.

The best pastries in Atlanta- They never disappoint! The pistachio croissant, cinnamon stick and chocolate croissants are especially good. Also, the Midnight cake is the perfect cake for celebrations!

Incredibly slow and indifferent service. Literally, no one seem to have a sense of customer service. Also, pretty highly priced for what you get. This used to be a great place. I would overhaul the staff if I were the owner.

I visited Alons with anticipation of the pastries that I had read about. The bakery counter had an impressive selection of breads, pastries and cookies, and I opted for the pistachio pastry and an apple pastry. The pistachio pastry had a tasty filling and a light texture, but was made far too sweet with a crunchy sugar topping - authentic French pastries should not be this way. The apple pastry had no flavour. The staff member that served me both at the counter and the cash desk was completely dead-pan with no character or personality. I think this venue is over-rated.

Breakfast is great. Order inside at the back counter and then eat outside on a nice fall morning. Lots of variety and they make some interesting things. Make sure to try it. They bring you your food after you order it but there is no dedicated wait staff so if you are looking for a place with a waiter this one is more about self service. The food is more upscale than you would expect though. Attire: Nothing formal here. Shorts and a t-shirt are fine. Very casual.

I was living in a hotel around the corner and stopped there for breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant and the atmosphere it provided. Crowded but not overbearing, simple but complex in a good way. Variety of options but not so many you spend unnecessary time trying to make a decision. The only fault I found was the limited amount of seating and not just because of the amount of people but the size of the seating area. It may get better during the warmer months since they have outdoor seating but that also means more people venturing out.

Last April I was invited to visit this bakery during my visit at Atlanta. I was very pleased with the visit. This bakery and market would be the king of place I could choose to go for lunch everyday. Ordering or making a selection form the already cook delicious food is easy and the variety is excellent. Buying goodies is one of my favorite things and just walking around over and over makes you spend more than what you need. The setting of candies, jams, breads, chocolates, etc makes it cozy and pretty, I did enjoyed very much this place I really recommend it.

Restaurant was not a good choice for our business meeting because the place was loud. However, it definitely was a place I would come back with my family. I had their peppered turkey sandwich. It was very good but pricey for a turkey sandwich. Atmosphere: loud. Food: good. No service you wait on yourself. Prices: high for the offering. Location: good. Across from the mall. Will try again.

First visit to Alon’s Bakery and Market. Very impressed. Great place to eat lunch. Offerings include fresh soups, sandwiches(love pimento cheese), prepared foods, hot and cold salads, and other hot options(including pizza; we had chicken). Their deserts are to die for(recommend creme Brûlée). Bakery products are very good(recommend banana bread and cinnamon sticks). They offer many types of cheese and will offer you a sample to help you decide. Really liked the wine bar(also have beer); wine bar has a separate sitting area. If you’re not into alcohol their coffee is better than Starbucks. Only downside is it is very busy and this makes it somewhat difficult to navigate on your first visit however their staff was very friendly and helpful. Indoor and patio seating; Vegetarian friendly, Gluten Free options, Vegan options; $$-$$$ If you are in the area just go and check it out. We can’t wait to go again.

This small gourmet bakery in Dunwoody offers pre-made and made-to-order deli salads and sandwiches, delicious baked goods and desserts, wood fired pizzas, many different small gourmet items such as candies, chocolates, preserves, and coffee. The prices as reasonable and the food is fresh and delicious. The place has a European feel, is small with indoor and outdoor seating, and gets pretty crowded at lunch time. I recommend the wood-fired pizza and a salad from the case, but I haven't ordered anything that I did not really enjoy.

We've been going to Alon's in Virginia Highlands for years, so we were happy to see this one open across from Perimeter Mall. Everything is top notch. We usually get our order to go, so I can't comment on dine in service. The chocolate chunk pecan cookies are great! They only use the finest chocolate, and it makes a difference. The deli items are very good (esp. the pimento cheese), the sandwiches are fantastic, and the bakery items are to die for! They also have a great selection of wines, cheeses, and a lot of other things too numerous to mention. If you are in the area of either location, just go. You won't be disappointed.

I prefer Alon's for business meeting over any of the coffee chains - much better ambiance, never too crowded, and has a great selection of beverages and eats to choose from. And the coffee is better than Starbucks! We have also picked up their cakes and pastries numerous times - always excellent!!!

This is a quiant little French bakery deli with great sandwiches and salad for lunch. They have a great deli and wine selections as well as a good bar.

One of my go-to places. Everything good here. Lunches are great, though there are limited places to sit to eat on premises. Baked goods are superb. Good cheese shop. Good prepared food. THE place for birthday cakes, etc. Problem: crowded and limited parking. Go during off-hours and enjoy!

Today I went here for an early lunch for the first time in a long time. What a GREAT decision that proved to be! There is a wider variety of products they now carry since the last time I was here. I love the European feeling of the place! There isn't another place exactly like Alon's that carry fresh meals like homemade soups, breads, & pizzas, snacks like freshly sliced cheese, and delicious desserts like berry tarts and tiramisu --which are among my favorite items just to name a few!!! Alon's is an exciting place to go for a lunch &/or dinner and is on the healthier side of eating out. Rashi was the person who waited on me when I placed my to go order. He was extremely pleasant and made my experience all the more delightful! I ordered a medium sized cup of tomato basil soup with 2 slices of wheat bread. I also bought a Lorina sparkling Lemonade to drink. #WOW! The food here is always perfectly seasoned! If ever in the area COME TO ALON'S!!! I will be seeing you guys sooner than later.☺ ~Ashli H.❤❤❤

You can pick up food to go or enjoy sitting on their patio and stuffing your face with delicious food that you know has been freshly prepared. After you have stuffed your face with their food you have to have some of their deserts. Just looking at them makes your mouth water.

I have been here before and their breads are very good. Some menu items are very good and others not. I had the pastrami sandwich. It was very plain with spicy mustard and a few small chunks of sinewy, fatty meat. The Greek pasta salad was very good. Friends had Salad Nicoise, tuna sandwich which were very good. The chicken soup was not good either.

The best breakfast / brunch sanduiches you will find. Try the gruyere panini and the Moroccan chicken. Desert is great too. My favorite is the raspberry chocolate mousse. Staff is friendly but the service is confusing, since it is a kind of self-service for only part of the products. My favorite late in town (for "serious coffee" lovers; if Starbucks is your favorite, Alon's may be too strong for you). Catering, croissants and cheese selection are also great. I see all kinds of groups there from solos to families, friends to business meetings... Pizza are not my favorites. I am realizing this is probably my favorite place in town...

I recommend any of the desserts especially the crime brûlée and the cookies! My fave is the dinner burger special! One of the best imo. Also can drink wine there!

I got the black bean soup, the broth was amazing but could have had more beans. The slice of sourdough bread made it amazing. Also got some roasted potatoes which were cold so I saved them to take home. I also bought some Veal meatloaf, Duck Prosciutto, capers with anchovies, Humbolt cheese, and fried Marcona almonds all of which were delicious. The heated up roasted potatoes were so good with chunks of roasted garlic. I also got a slice of Midnight cake which I hid from every one to eat. So much to choose from, nice staff, an really good food. I’ll be back!

This place is great when you are looking for a special treat. They have a lot of great pastries to choose from.

Alon's Bakery has great salads, sandwiches and other lunch fare. Their desserts are just gorgeous and many are so perfect they don't even look real. Thought the lunch prices were reasonable, too. What more can you ask for?

Ever go to the Apple store, where those snooty little people expect you to know their routine and to wait for them to say you may buy something? That was Alons today. Went there to get a couple of sandwiches to have for a quick bite for dinner. Asked for a roast beef and a pastrami. Sorry, we stopped serving pastrami a long time ago. Well, it's on your on-line menu. Well, sorry. Ok give me two roast beef sandwiches then. No obvious place to sit and wait, so I parked myself on the corner of a table by the fellow I just ordered from. This, after getting one of those flip screens that asks how much I want to tip the person who has done nothing. Lucky to hear my name called in the back of the restaurant, so I guessed the drill is that I should have waited back there (that iphone is one of our less expensive ones, don't you want something better?). Just had the sandwich. Tasteless. Will not go back.

I like to think of myself as an expert of coffee houses my friend and I have a standing ritual of meeting for Saturday coffee around Atlanta and some of the best coffee houses bakeries market you can think up. This is clearly one of our favorites. We usually arrive right when they open so that we can get a table best suited for our conversation. And then we peruse oh the wonders of the bakery as we nest sip coffee and chat as it fills up quickly around us.

I was looking for something other than hotel food...this fit the bill nicely. Bustling place. LOTS of options. The spelt flour pancakes were lovely (I'm gluten free). Lines for cooked to order food moved quickly (they bring it to where you end up choosing to sit...inside or out) and there were lots of deli and pre-packaged options. I would go back any time.

I loved this little market. However, it was pretty obvious that serving food was not a high priority for them so that could stand improvement. The quality of my breakfast was good though.

Our Sales Management Team frequently brings these into the office, and the selection is awesome. I've never been inside or tried them for the market, but based on the bakery basket and other traveler reviews, I would!

we were in town with a large group and I had ordered sandwiches for all of us. Mix of Roast Beef, Pepper Roast Turkey, Chicken Pesto, Vegetarian Eggplant. Everybody LOVED the breads (especially Rosemary Focaccia) and the portion of meat was aLOT. Each box sandwich came with potato chips & a LARGE cookie. Excellent customer service. Thank you! We will come back again.

I recently met a colleague at Alon's, a place I have visited many times. I am always impressed with the establishment and its many and varied offerings. You can stop in a pick up food to take home or back to the office. Or you can meet a friend or colleague for coffee and fresh pastry. The "eat in" area is both outside and a small area inside, providing dining options for all. The freshly prepared food in the back of the establishment is outstanding (if slightly overpriced). You pick what you want and pay by the ounce. There are not only freshly prepared meals but also snacks, cheeses, beverages and more. Judging by the throngs of people coming and going, lots of people understand the delicious offerings of Alon's. If you are in the area (north Atlanta near Perimeter Mall) stop in and have a cup of coffee and fresh pastry. You'll be glad you did.

We ate her twice, once for breakfast and then for a happy hour snack. The atmosphere is friendly and casual. On Sunday the weather was perfect and we snacked outside. Both times the food was excellent. The title says it all for the pastries, but wait, there's more: breakfast cooked to order with many choices of rich coffee options. beer, wine.salads, cheeses, breads and pizza. The poppy seed danish and pastry filled with blueberries were fabulous.

It's the perfect place to treat myself and my friends to a great cappuccino and the best ever cinnamon sticks! You can also grab some lunch and enjoy their wonderful international bakery and and pastry. Wonderful and relaxing athmosphere where you can be enjoy your food inside or if you prefer outside under the well ventilated canopy and have a fun, relaxing experience

I have had Tiramisu in many places and I only remember very few places for it. This place is one of them! They have awesome Tiramisu. Though I have never really sat down and eaten at Alon's bakery but that is because my friend's house is stone throw away and not coz anything is wrong with this place. I have tried a few other pastries from Alon's Bakery but you just can't miss their Tiramisu

The jam is amazing on the wonderful, fresh pastries. The bread is worth the drive. Good variety and great folks!

Great place for lunch and specialty foods. Eat in or take away .... Always fresh and delicious soups , salads , prepared food, cheeses , breads and pastries.

The baked goods and sandwiches are really excellent here, which they should be, given the price. The almond croissants are fantastic. The coffee is disappointing, and they don't have any proper cups. The big problem are the workers who, despite the large number of them, are slow and act like they are working in a pharmacy. It took them 15 minutes to get me a sandwich—that was already made!--all they had to do was heat it up, while they chatted among themselves, stood around, and one was busy making herself a sandwich and snacks. They do not work as a team, and seem to think that snootiness is a great quality to have.

The second best Tunisian sandwich I've ever had - I think of it often. Along with the beautiful salads, pastries and cakes it's well worth a visit from anyone visiting Atlanta. Wish we had a Alons in London!

We love Alons. This location offer so much! They have a bar, with a very friendly and helpful bar tender. I believe only wine and beer are available, but you can also order some food at the bar, if you want to sit there and eat. They have tables outside, as well as inside to sit and eat. Their tunisian tuna sandwich and their lamb sandwich are amazing. You can't go wrong with their pastries and their coffee either. I love their midnight cake, which is a chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream. Sounds so simple, but they manage to make it special. I don't care for their macarons, but with everything else they offer, that is the least of my problems. They also sell high-end gourmet food items, such as local butter, cheese, milk, as well as fancy fruit pastes, and pastas from other countries.

It is definitely a neat looking little place with an outside area for sitting and enjoying your beverage, sandwich, dessert or whatever else you choose while you chat with a friend or read a book. They have a market area in the back with some cheeses and a few other deli type foods as well as a few decent wine selections in the front. The desserts looked very pretty and appetizing, but we got chocolate cake there recently and it was dry. I say it was dry, but it was more liked it was overbaked and then some liquid was brushed or poured onto it in an attempt to remoisturize the cake layers. Whatever they did, it wasn't successful, in my opinion. It was partially wet, and partially dry. When I pay their prices for cake, it should be at least nearly as good as mine. I am merely paying for the convenience of not having to bake one myself and then having the temptation of a whole cake in the fridge every time I open the door. My grandson got chocolate chip cookies there and enjoyed those, but I didn't try them. The young lady who was working behind the counter could really use some customer service training. She acted as though it were a real bother to her to walk up to the display case where the cakes were, so that we could inquire as to what the flavors were and for her to have to box up the cake we wanted. I was not really impressed. If I went back, it would just be to get a coffee or some similar drink and sit and enjoy the outside seating area.

i work in this area so sometimes for something different i will grab lunch here. I'm never disappointed, but i definitely liked the Eatzi's salads & dressings better than Alon's. I would eat here more often if it was that good. Maybe i'm just picky. I know people who love this place.

Great place for lunch or breakfast! Such a wide array of food and items in the market. I had the steak salad and it was good. The dressing was a little bland - I'd ask for a difference one next time. The outdoor seating was great since the weather was so nice

My daughter recommended that we spend a sunny morning having a "picnic" on the porch of Alon's. We both enjoyed lattes and had the most difficult time selecting which breads, cheeses, and prepared foods to order for our brunch. The woman at the cheese counter was incredibly helpful. Full of insights about the flavors and textures of the many cheeses she tended to, like her "flock". The gentleman at the bakery counter advised on his favorites. We loved the entire meal including and the delicious desserts! Included photos of the dessert counter and a fun bee study project they sponsor.

My husband and I went out of our way to stop at this particular Alon's as we had read about it, to our chagrin it was awful, as soon as we entered there was refuse and leaves on the floor and the tables were dirty, not to mention the cigarette butts before entering the front door, didn't pay attention to the red flags. No signs to help direct the patron, just a circle that one just kept going around in, no one asked if we needed help. Finally, my husband stopped and asked where we could get a sandwich, we ordered Pastrami, it was akin to chewing leather, not to mention the overloaded mustard with seeds, they just fell out all over our clothes, on our face, we just finally threw it in the trash and left, mind you not to return again. We spent $60 on sandwich, olives, bottled water and cookies and crostini, what a waste of money. We then had to find somewhere else to eat.

Stopped in on an overnight in Dunwoody area. We ordered a pizza and sandwiches. We found the food to be passable, but not very well spiced. Very overpriced for portion size. We did not try deli items or baked goods. All looked to be picked over as it was close to closing. Nice displays and some beautiful items for gift baskets. Upscale for millennials. We are not their target audience.

This is a bakery god sake! behind the counter people is not a bakers, act like sale person. Sometimes customers has questions about what are you serving. Loose the attitude.

Expecting a speciality food shop attached to a restaurant, we were disappointed Ed. Instead, what we got was a very nice take out line with beautifully prepared meat, vegetables, made to order pizza, and freshly made soups to go. This, accompanied by a well stocked speciality food store and tantalizingly tempting bakery. There are tables and chairs to dine in yet the dine in menu is quite limited. Sure, you can get hot soup, sandwiches, and salads, but the good in "the line" is strictly intended for take home consumption. In other words, don't expect it to be warmed up of ready to eat in the restauranperhsps our expectations were too high. We had expected a sit down Dining experience and that is certainly not what you get here. If, however, you are looking to run by and pick up a salad, vegetables, dessert, and meats to eat at home where you can warm your food, thus is the place. Just not the place for business folks like us who are staying in a hotel without the bebegitvif a full kitchen.

I had been to one of these in another state and thoroughly enjoyed the food. It all looked good, and the item I purchased was tastey, but VERY pricey. There is absolutely no need for the extreme cost, but it is a nice place to see and visit even if you do not want to purchase food.

Great place with outside dinning area and lots of Freash food to chose from. When I am in ATL and on the north side this is the place I eat at. It's a go to place you won't be upset. Enjoy!

This is more a hip little grocery/bakery than a restaurant destination, though you certainly consume what you purchase on site. Having said that the bakery portion, breads and pastries, is the best in the Atlanta metro area by miles. The prepared foods are a bit over creative - a roast beef sandwich had a balsamic and basil mayonnaise - great but might as well have left the beef off as it couldn't compete. On the other hand the pastrami was great and the stone ground mustard the perfect accent. It is worth a visit just to get a croissant, which are fabulous.

The food is good for the price. I had avocado toast that was a bit heavy on sprouts . Not bad, a bit disappointing in that way. My wife enjoyed her salmon, cream cheese, bagel dish. Not disappointing. That said, I'd go back. The layout is a bit confusing. You get the menus at the front, grab your table out front, decide on your order, then place it at the counter at the clear back of the store. At what you miss is that the counter is full with other salads and dishes you didn't see on the menu. This is unfortunate. And there is a lot to get in your way well before you get to that counter. The coffee bar is up front, groceries block the view of the deli bar, and there's another counter off to the right with (if memory serves) bread. The counter with the actual food is HIDDEN. Again, I'd go back. I would want to give the menu (and some of the dishes in that deli case) a taste. But the layout of the store hurts the overall rating of the place for me. I'd have to give this 3.5 stars out of five.

I was really looking forward to the Sufganiyot (donuts) to celebrate the first night of Hannukah - an indulgence to be sure, but once a year. Despite the price ($3 each - compare to Dunkin Donuts), I bought two and with sundown broke into what I was eagerly anticipating given the usual standard for Alon's baked goods . Instead incredible disappointment - where was the custard? I'm not sure there was a 1/2 teaspoon of custard. Next year - Dunkin Donuts.

Recommended by a local for breakfast, and we wound up eating there three days in a row. The bakery has some wonderful items I've never seen or heard of but also does a terrific job on old standards, including perhaps the best scone I've ever had in the US. Great cheese counter, great appetizing counter, some fine gift items...A little Zabar's, with some extra Middle Eastern touches. Delightful people work there too. If I were to be in Atlanta all this week or month I'd still eat there every day.

I skipped their wide array of artisan baked goods and had two salads there. The soba salad was one of the best I've ever had with fresh greens, shiitake mushrooms, chicken and tender soba noodles topped by separate soy and peanut dressing. My salad nicoise wasn't as spectacular but still delectable with imported tuna, greek olives, artichoke hearts etc.

It is more of a restaurant ( Panera Or Corner Bakery style) than a grocery store. You can pick up a few unique grocery items there. It is not meant for getting all your groceries done there. The food and drink menu is pretty good. I was slightly annoyed because I received the wrong sandwich and had to wait longer for the correct one. Food tasted fine, but portions were on the smaller side. All tables were wobbly, which made it hard to eat and drink our hot drinks. The bathroom was clean but outdated. I expected a more updated place for the prices they charge.

Lines are out of control. It's really difficult to figure what you're supposed to do; which line to go through... Then, it takes an eternity if you order a hot food item. Not a place I'd recommend for a fast or stress-free lunch. Sorry

We first went to the one in Virginia Highlands, Morningside. We prefer this one because there is more seating. Order at each station and they will bring it to your table on real dishes. Clean up your own table and grab more yummy treats and pay on the way out. We got a mushroom pizza that was delicious...a poppyseed danish...opera cake..a Key West...and a Creme Brulee ( TO DIE FOR !! ). Bought some hummus to bring home for later. Everyone is nice and helpful. Very unique place ! Drove for over an hour to get there and worth it every time.

I have been enjoying breads and pastries for years but my last visit was less than acceptable. I purchased chocolate chip cookies, stolen with marzipan , and rye and black bread. The cookies were not chocolate chip but a multi-nut but the main problem was they were not fresh and not very tasty. could not find anyone even my kids friends that liked them. Tasted stale crumbly cookie full of nuts. The stolen was fresh and tasty but no marzipan could be found. That leaves the breads and they were outstanding as always. Despite this visit I will return might not get anymore cookies or stolen but I still can not resist the breads and pastries.

Had a good time visiting this bakery. They have both pastries and fresh baked bread. You can also get prepared salads and small portions along with breakfast items or sandwiches. Prices are fair with the area and definitely a nice place to get any bakery items.

You must get your fresh bread from here and you will love it. It's really fresh, soft and tasty. What's more? they have tons of varieties. It's not only bread, you can get any kind of American breakfast, pastries, nice beverages and so on. It's a great place.

Love this bakery, breakfast baked goods as well as all the desserts, food is also good but price wise it is overpriced. I recommend Alons to all of my friends, it really is a great, casual breakfast/lunch place and each time you may discover some new local or foreign item in the store section.

Visited here for lunch, lots of options for hit food, salads and wonderful sandwiches. Full of Italian food, pasta, cakes and sweets. Amazing cheeses as well. Recommend sitting out under the shades and watching the world pass by.

I wish there is a Alon's Bakery & Market in the Chicago area. This is my to go place when I am in Atlanta for business. I am a big coffee drinker. Alon has one of the best coffee I've ever had. Unlike Starbucks, who's coffee is a little bitter, Alon's coffee is very smooth without the bitter taste. Not to mention that they also have amazing cakes! The price is on the high side, but I think for the quality that you are getting, it is worth paying extra. I haven't had the chance to try their other items, but they look very good as well.

Great and lovely displays of a wide range of freshly-baked pastries and breads. Very high quality breakfast-brunch offers prepared while you wait. The aesthetics of the bakery are almost as good as the baked goods. Sure I'll return, any time I'm within 50 miles of Alon's.

The food was mediocre, and the service was abysmal. However, the scene was fun and lively. I had heard mixed reviews about the restaurant. Some people love the food and extensive offerings, but I was disappointed by the quality of the food and the disrespectful attitude of the servers.

So many good dessert selections it was difficult to make a choice but I finally settled on the Raspberry white chocolate cheesecake! It was to die for!!! I wished I had bought 2, can't wait to go again, real soon.

Alon's Bakery & Market is more than a bakery.....this place is sooo exciting and you can always find something new. It's more like an international market because many of their offerings are specialty items and/or places that reflect different parts of the world. The bakery is awesome of course but you can also get lots of different cheeses and premade salads and sandwiches. When I go I always go to the deli and grab interesting new deli items that I wouldn't make a home. They will heat up items for you if needed. There are also custom hot sandwiches and pizza items that you can have made and you can even grab a glass or bottle of wine from the many options. This is an awesome place to go on a Saturday or Sunday when you're not pressed for time because you can spend time wandering around and looking at everything, grab interesting stuff to eat, have a glass of wine poured and then hang out on the open patio out front to eat and enjoy the weather. It's not an every day place (it's a bit pricey), when you go there you feel is if you're treating yourself.

A friend of mine told me that Alon's was not only a market, but also a place for lunch and dinner. You will need to walk through the market to the back of the store to place your order. The menu consists of sandwiches and salads. On the day that we visited, there was a special entrée as well. At the register, you place your order, pay and then give the cashier your name. When your order is ready for pick-up, they will call your name. If you are dining in, you will have to walk to the front of Alon's to find the dine-in area. In the dine-in area, tables are limited although there is plenty of outdoor seating available. For such a little dine-in area, it is loud. You can forget about having a conversation, because you will not be able to hear what anyone is saying. That being said, I recommend their Roast Beef sandwich and Veggie sandwich. Yes, the sandwiches are more expensive and they do not come with any sides, but the quality- especially when it comes to the bread they use on the sandwiches- is very good.

I love the macarons and opera cake. The staff are very nice and helpful. The prices are honest but some itens are expensive.

When you first walk in you may be a little confused as where to order and where to eat. Things are not marked very clearly. Once you find out where to order and where to pay the food is excellent. You have bakery, deli, hot foods, etc. A wide selection of good eats:)! The outside seating chairs are not very comfortable so you may want to try and find one of the limited inside seats. On weekends it is very crowed as we live across the street:)!

I love Alon's. The food is exceptional and their specialty groceries are such a nice treat. I recommend the freshly baked bread - it is so good. We tried the chocolate mousse this last time. It was very rich, and a wonderful afternoon pick me up!

Great place to eat, buy gourmet food stuffs and pastries. Excellent fresh soups, salads, sandwiches, and hot options; self-service; indoor and patio seating; and don't forget the pastries for dessert or tomorrow's breakfast

Once you walk in be prepared to spend. The cookies are EXCELLENT. Their dessert are always delicious, you can't go wrong with any of them. Their packaged banana bread/cakes are soooo moist. The breads are good and so are the food they make and prepare. Oh my I forgot their chocolate yum, how could I...

Our group of 3 ate at Alon's for a late lunch. Our salads and sandwiches were excellent and it was relaxing to enjoy them at one of their outdoor tables that was sheltered but pleasant. It is fairly close to Schlesinger Associates to be worth going back the next time I'm doing research in Atlanta.

What a little gem. This place has everything a foodie would want. Cozy, friendly and options galore. Could spend hours browsing. Desserts were to die for and plenty of gluten free options.

I only came here for the Midnight Cake which was amazing! I cannot wait to come back and try other things! This place has a little problem with parking but that's an issue with a lot of places in the area

Alon's makes the best pies ever for the holidays, particularly their Apple pie! My girlfriend and I came here for breakfast one day and it was great! They also have a lovely gourmet market to shop in!

This is a great place to get those items, both Food and Beverage, that you would never find in a standard supermarket...lunch is usually quite busy, as they also offer outside seating with both hot and cold salads and lunch items...the bakery portion of the restaurant is a bit lacking as most bakeries are in Atlanta...overpriced croissants are just about all that I would recommend...Lunch can be a bit of a scene....If you think Dunwoody can justify a scene!

We were visiting Atlanta for 10 days and we came here at least 4 times. Breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, at anytime we got a great meal!

Jump off the interstate and go for a european style coffee and peanut butter cookie, just the right break to keep you going. (Don't forget the fresh bread-my fav). They will slice it for you. Alon's has a online menu if you are in a hurry. The selection is unique and the deserts the best, only found in a true family business.

Great Gourmet Food Place. Never Ate there but I got a bunch of their foods in bulk take out last weekend, including their chopped chicken liver, Eggplant Provencal and the Babganoush which are stellar. The deserts are also phenomenal but I didn't get any on this visit.

Bakery marketplace that has to be experienced firsthand. breads, desserts, coffee and wine bar, restaurant along with Specialty food gift items are just a few things about the place I can remember. You can find just about everything at Alon's. The tomato basil soup, crab cake and salmon steaks were delectable. Alon's ranks as a number one to go place for my niece who lives nearby. So glad she insisted that I should go. Visiting Dunwoody Atlanta area this should be a must stop. If shopping at Perimeter Mall skip the chain mall eateries and head to Alon's. Alon's is worth the trip no matter where you are in Atlanta.

My first time there to meet someone for lunch. They showed me around the place and everything looked delicious. I ordered a salad for lunch and wasn't impressed based on the size and ingredients for the price, very expensive. I will go back and try other items and update my review. This place is unique and fun to walk around to the different food stations.

Alon's has some really good food, especially their desserts. It's a place worth checking out, just for the sweets!

Most importantly the kids loved it!! From the Deli to the dessert bar this place had something for everyone. With an interactive type shopping experience and tons of seating options I highly recommend this place. Casual and good!

Went with my wife, daughter and day old grandson. So many interesting foods. I had Greek salad with salmon - the feta cheese and olives where wonderful. My wife had pizza with anchovies which were fantastic. Very difficult to decide what to eat as everything looked great. Had some fresh bread which was done perfectly. Now that I know what they have to offer - we shall return. Biggest turnoff is you have to get your food, stand in lines and carry eveerything without any trays.

My wife and I aren’t local but dropped in as we were passing through and this place was a blast! We are into the real food scene and were thrilled at all the options this place has in line with that lifestyle! Everything about this place, from the food to the service to the atmosphere, was on point! We already can’t wait to pass through again!!!

Located in a busy section and parking can be a challenge. Surprisingly quite a large food market, freshly prepared food, freshly baked breads, varieties of cakes and macaroons. We ordered a slice of cake and some macaroons, they were excellent and taste great. Fresh cup of coffee is good. Large sitting area.

One of my favorite places for some pizza or a sandwich. Everything is delicious! It's a fun market to browse, and almost always crowded. I enjoy sitting outside with a cup of coffee and just relaxing here...

Today was a great day to go! Weather was like Spring so we were able to take advantage of eating our lunch out side. Wide variety of choices! My lunch was delicious! Half of sandwich with my sister and had a cup of a delicious corn chowder. The chowder was not cream based. It was full of vegetables so easy on my diet. Breads are homemade. Would have loved to have a tried a sweet treat/cup of coffee but we were on our way to a movie. I definitely would like to go back to try one of their salads.

Don’t expect service. I just spent 20 minutes sitting at the bar waiting to buy glass of wine. Apparently the staff can’t be bothered to sell, she came back there a couple times and got herself a drink of water but didn’t bother to wait on any customers. It’s more profitable if you actually wait on customers. Your loss

I think the lamb sandwich is the best sandwich I have ever had! Pastries are also amazing, I will definitely be back. As a first visit, I was a little confused by the process of where to order what and seating was limited. Several tables had not been bussed, limiting the choices for seating. But the food is AMAZING.

This review is for the bakery on North Highland. I have not had anything but the cookies here. I have eaten the bread that they bake at another deli, however. The chocolate chunk with pecans and the oatmeal cookies are so delicious, you will eat at least half a dozen before leaving the parking lot-they are just that good! I cannot compare them to anything I have ever tasted. They rival the Neiman Marcus cookie and the ones they have at DoubleTree Hotels (two of my favs). The bread is the best, too. It's so good that local bakeries, buy their bread from Alon's to serve to their customers. Other establishments are proud to tell their customers that their bread comes from Alon's. Also, I would like to add that the workers are very friendly here. I really enjoy coming here because I know the food is good, and they appreciate my business to boot. Do your tastebuds a favor, and try them! You won't regret it.

This is a little gem with fresh sandwiches and lots of other good food. They do take out or eat in and it is all delicious and reasonably priced.

This is a great shop to pick up a quick bite and ear outside or pick up something to take home for dinner.

Lunch with grandkids at this recycled location. Alon's is a gourmet market and also has eat in dining. Indoor and outdoor seating. Order at the counter for salads, soups, and sandwiches. Your order will be brought to your table. Ordering revealed the need to have better customer training for some of their employees. All food was good and the chopped liver excellent. Recommend. Hope this helps.

Alon's in Dunwoody serves good food. The recent visit showed us that the outdoor tables were dirty. To get tap water one has to go to the coffee bar that only had 2 workers and wait in line for a long time during lunch to get a glass of water. If a guest wants anything other than a sandwich like a cookie or pastry you must pay for this at the same coffee bar where you get tap water. To pay for a cookie took almost 15 minutes with more then 14 people waiting to buy a coffee or pay their bill. Obviously they need more than 1 register to get people in and out promptly. I was ready to just give the cookie back and walk out. I always liked Alon's, but not sure I will go back until I know that they have their act together and clean up the out door and porch seating areas.

We finally found our way to Alon’s. I had thought of it just as a bakery. I love bakeries but I try not to visit them too often. But here there was so much more. We got a bowl of delicious tomato-basil soup—perfect for a damp and cold winter day. The salads and sandwiches looked very nice too and we were tempted. Instead we went for the Opera Cake. I don’t usually go for this type of thing. Typically, they are filled with a lot of overly sweet creamy stuff. This one, however, was dense and rich and extremely yummy. The latte was really good, too. Staff was all pleasant and helpful and parking is easy since they have their own small lot.

Baguette and cookies were great - as usual. Service was terrible - unusual. The afternoon male cashier was rude and condescending. He treated our group of 3 older women with extreme derision after we corrected his error regarding our change. He made a big deal about having to open the register to get more money and didn’t even give us the receipt when we asked. Just yelled “have a good day” and turned to go clean up something by the coffee station. Super rude. He also packed our bag such that all of the individual baked goods fell out to the bottom of the bag - made a big mess. Not acceptable. We can find baked items elsewhere - with less of a hostile attitude.

My favorite place to take grandchildren for a splurge lunch/dinner/afternoon snack. They LOVE wandering around inspecting the fancy groceries, always wind up ordering a sandwich and then going back to choose the perfect chocolate dessert. We go for the food, not the atmosphere.

Always enjoy grabbing a bite here. The soups and salads are fresh and good. Usually add an extra to-go side for the road if going into the weekend. The market and bakery is a great place to grab a refreshment and relax. The only downside is the staff never seems happy to be there. I guess because it is so busy and for a first timer the ordering can be down right confusing with no real direction on the how-to and where-to for the various stations. The covered patio area makes it a perfect place almost any day to enjoy some fresh air.

Alon's specialty is bread, pastries, and desserts. However, their to go bar has some good. healthy options that you can take to go or make a plate of and eat there. Their soups are good, but eat them fresh. Their pizzas are great, which brings me to the service: Alon's seems to have a large turnover rate in their staff and service can be very hit or miss. Tipping is probably expected here, but I usually just get groceries. When ordering a pizza, you need to let someone by the kitchen know after ordering from the cashier, or you might be waiting 10, 15 minutes for the pizza baker to take notice. If you're a coffee person, they have a solid coffee setup, which is small and like the rest of Alon's can easily be backed up with orders. There is a large wine selection that I intend to look over some day, and they also host many events which can be seen in flyers around the store. Catering is not recommended, however- the vegetable platter is good, but the sandwiches and cheese plate less so. You're better off getting a box of cookies instead.

We read the other reviews and when we came to Atlanta for a long weekend Alon's Bakery was at the top of our list of places to have lunch. Great and knowledgable service. You can get a sample of hot chocolate or a coffee sample before you order..try a bit of the cheese before you commit to a choice/s. So nice and helpful and everything is delicious..good luck making a choice :) We had the Tuscany sandwich and asked for it on ciabatta...no problem and the spicy Tuna on a mini baguette . Extremely tasty and very generous portions and only $7.99 each. We then had a coffee and 2 pastries the apple danish was SO full of apple filling and I had the most scrumptious Kouign aman with raspberry filling....delicate and crisp and chewy ....delicious !! Take your time and take home some bread and soup and olive oil...and....have a lovely dinner tonight !

When my daughters and I want to relax and have a nice brunch, Alons is always a great suggestion. The Sangria is yummy!! Love tasting the cheese and taking home something new. Food is always great. I've never had anything I didn't like. This is a must try if you're visiting Atlanta!

I recently visited this market on a trip to Atlanta. AMAZING!! The variety of foods was outstanding. The quality was A+. I ended up making purchases at several of the little stations and every staff member I encountered went out of their way to be pleasant and helpful. I will be sure to return to this place every time I go back to Atlanta.

When my coworker first bought some macarons here for a bridal shower, it was my first time trying one and I fell in love. It was my benchmark, little did I know I could never find another quite the same. Every bakery I tried was overly sweet and a big miss. Alon's does it right: Beautiful, flavorful fillings that doesn't taste artificial and the sweetness level was perfect. If it weren't so expensive I'd buy a lot more, they last a few days in the fridge. Alon's also has delicious fruit tart. Again not overly sweet and doesn't have that artificial taste most bakeries have.

Sandwiches were ordered for a lunch with my colleagues. Since I am vegan, we specifically ordered veggie sandwiches without cheese. They couldn't be bothered, and ordinary sandwiches with plenty of cheese arrived instead, leaving me without lunch. Unbelievable that they couldn't accommodate such a simple request. Perhaps at the physical restaurant with one-on-one ordering I could get better service.

This place feels like a great European market. Presentation is so good you feel sensory overload at first. You can explore the different food stations, where the staff will gladly provide samples. The homemade soups are excellent, served with fresh bread. I also sampled a croissant and cookies, both of which were outstanding. Selection of prepared food, cheeses, fresh sandwiches and salads make you want to come here every day. Great choice for lunch, or to take home something tasty for dinner. Don't miss this gem.

I don't know if it is because I live (and grew up) in California or not, but people in Atlanta - and in the South in general - seem more hospitable by nature. This bakery and market offered incredible food. All of the sandwiches and sides our group sampled were excellent! My husband lived in ATL for many years and everyone in his family raved about this place. My hubby and I got little fruit tart pies to have as snacks on our flight back home and I (almost 😊) felt guilty when we pulled them out to eat and other passengers on our flight were drooling at the sight of them! As I mentioned before, the food and the hospitality of the staff made our trip here unforgettable. There is something for everyone here and I highly recommend this establishment! No complaints here!

Not vegan bread friendly but had soy milk for coffee. Staff wasn’t knowledgeable on ingredients of menu. Will try later for lunch experience to see if it is different.

Too late for the falafel plate so instead had excellent salad niçoise and delicious hazelnut crunch cake. Always awesome baked goods!

I visited first time. Lovely and big place. Lots of quality sandwiches and soups. Many other varieties as well. Smiling and efficient staff. But, it is a kind of pricey place.

I discovered Alon's since moving to Roselle 2 years ago. Everything here is good ! I usually get crab cakes, salmon, chicken skewers, chicken salad, quesadillas, beet salad, grilled veggies. I could go on and on. The only thing that stops me is wanting to ensure that I do not spend $200 for a trip to a deli/restaurant !

One of my favorite places to eat in Dunwoody! From gourmet entrees to delicious desserts and fresh pastries, Alon's has everything you heart desires.

I usually come to Alon's for dessert only, but today I stopped in for lunch and dessert. I love their selections of products and their food is great. But the reason I'm giving them only 3 stars is because I ordered a sandwich and asked for it grilled. I didn't realize until I left that they charged $1.00 for them to grill it! Really Alon's...all you did was put it on the panini maker but you HAD to charge me a $1.00 for what I ask? Now my almost $9 sandwich became an almost $11 sandwich with no side... Again great for dessert but on the pricey side for a meal.

I went in without knowing what to order but turns out everything seems to be great. I oder rotisserie chicken roasted broccoli and sweet mashed potatoes, it was really good. I also ordered a macchiato. Now I have ordered coffees from few places since I got here to GA and by far Alons makes the best Machiatto. The espresso also great and yes for people that really enjoy a good espresso (not Starbucks )...go and check it out if you are around the area.

Alons has the freshest food and best staff of any place in Dunwoody. I highly recommend the specials at the back of the store. Everything from the meatloaf to their exquisite salads are huge winners. Ask the staff for recommendations for food and cooking. They are knowledgeable and helpful. This is a great place for brunch or impressing out of town guests and mother-in-laws.

I have been coming here for a number of years and been mostly satisfied, but today I ordered my usual gruyere panini, and was left unsatisfied. There was one very thin slice of cheese, one paper thin tomato, a few arugula leaves and a small amount of tapenade. Come on, folks, I would rather pay an extra dollar and get a decent sandwich.

Coming from South of Georgia, we do not have a place like this. So I came across this lovely place while waiting for my appointment and I’m so glad I did! Such a cute place. Lots of bakery items, pastries and also lunch items. People are super friendly as well which is rare to find nowadays. Try the pistachio croissant paired with cafe mocha.... Y - U - M!!! Great way to start the morning. They also have fancy grocery items such as cheese, crackers... etc. Really awesome place! Must visit!! Wish I had a picture of my croissant but I inhaled it! 😋

What a great find. We were stumbling around a shopping center looking for a place for breakfast and lo and behold - Alon's.After spending 30 minutes wandering aisles filled withe imported foods like lavender honey from France and Georgia specialties like Jittery Joe's coffee, cases filled with gourmet cheese and beautiful house made pastries and breads we sat down and ordered. My tomato and Gruyere panini grilled on delicious ciabatta with a side order of Moroccan lamb sausage was incredible as was my wife's order of French toast. When we next have reason to be in Atlanta we'll bring a cooler so that we can take home a selection of their prepared foods.

Very nice place to have lunch, the sandwiches were delicious. We had cake & coffee for dessert, both were excellent. The staff were were very friendly.

Tucked away across from Perimiter Mall, Alon's is a hidden treasure in Dunwoody. Great salads, baked goods, sweets, cookies, wood burning pizza oven and fantastic soups and sandwiches in a mini whole foods for foodies type setting. Indoor and outdoor seating and prepared gourmet everything. Always worth a visit and easy to get in and out with lots of parking.

This is more like a gourmet food store with tables. The "table service" only brings your food but not your coffee, or silverware, nor do they clean the table. But you figure it out. Fun place.

My husband and I ordered two sandwiches to eat in that needed to be warm. By the time they were prepared the sandwiches were cold. The goat cheese sandwich was a sloppy mess with food from inside the sandwich oozing out all over. It was disgusting and not the least bit appetizing. Shame on you for such poor service! I will never come to your bakery again.

I travel to Dunwoody often for business and about twice a month I attempt breakfast here. Unfortunately, out of the dozen plus times I have attempted to order and eat I am most often left disappointed by one thing or another. I place my order, same order every time, omelette with Swiss and mushrooms, grits, and a bagel and cream cheese. Then I wait at my table with my number for my food and each time something will surely be missing or incorrect, but usually corrected. Last time I was in I was most disappointed because I had to send my omelette back it had bacon in it, I'm a vegetarian, the replacement omelette was so runny and liquidy, yuck! Had to get a refund. Today, I thought I will just get a bagel & cream cheese, can't mess that up... New person was preparing the bagel and added a bunch of toppings, and when I mentioned mine was to just have butter and cream cheese, she wiped the other toppings off and thought that was acceptable, then I was asked if I wanted a new one??? Really? The O.J. Was very watery as well.. This place is packed most all the time. Food is over priced and not very good and service is the worst possible service.

We went last friday to buy a cake and then we decided to eat there, what a dissapoinment . I order the margarita pizza and it was just tomatoe purée , and 3 leaves of basil . It was hard to hold it because it was saggi !! And my friend order the chicken pesto sandwich and half of the chicken was raw. Though they gave him a good new sandwich , this one was not a good experience :(

Nice location, beautiful place. However prices are high. Didnt want to pay $11 for a small deli sandwich. Saw them on a local tv station while vacationing here. Crossiant was dry and was not filled with chocolate that much. Will not be coming back here.

I live in Atlanta, but not close. So when I am near Alon's, I'll stop for a sandwich or coffee & a snack, plus get some stuff from the market to take home. The pastries & sandwiches are very good, but be careful in the gourmet market. Twice in recent months I've been sold items way past the expiration date. I know I should (and will from now on) check this myself, but still it was disappointing to get home & have to throw it away.

I enjoy meeting a friend at Alon's to get a yummy sandwich, coffee and a mimosa on a Sunday to catch up on life. I have also stopped by to get a salad or dinner to go. They offer a great variety of meals at a highter level than other cafe's. There pastry deserts are great too. Their display is the best.

The food is fresh, unbelievable variety, staff is friendly and ambience is unique. It is located near the business district and a large mall.

The food is pricey and tastes average. Once I went in to get a cup of grits to go. It took over 30 minutes. Another time, I went to get a bagel to go. It took about 25 minutes. The folks are so focused on making lunch at 8am in the morning, they cannot toast a bagel or scoop grits in a cup.

Went here for dinner one evening with my daughter and her husband. We all got their special that evening which was a meat and two sides. I ordered ,as well as my daughter ,their rotisserie chicken It was good, but not OMGosh good. I also got their potato salad which I enjoyed very much, but again I have better. My son in law got their meatloaf which he said was very good. They have lots to choose from as far as food goes and the place has great selections for specialty food items. I picked up some locally made pickles and olive oil. Very fun place to go if you like to cook and to be able to buy products made in the surrounding area of Georgia

Took out a 2# Italian bread that is crusty and has a great taste. For $5.75 it sure beats the supermarket variety of baked bread.

Croquembouche. Chocolate raspberry mousse cake. Baked ziti. Smoky babaganoush. I've ordered catering from Alon's every time I've been to a nearby convention and the food has always gotten raves. Highly, highly recommended.

Alon’s is indeed a bakery, but it is first and foremost a place to browse and explore. Breads and pastries beckon you from cases near the front, but the rest of the shop entices you with tasty tidbits packaged for home or for gift-giving. Olives, salamis, cheeses, aprons and napkins, jams and jellies—you name it, and you’ll find it. But you don’t have to wait. Lunch is served, from luscious sandwiches, salads, and pizzas to a full-plate special of rotisserie chicken or falafel. You'll be paged when your order is ready. Seating is limited inside, and outside tables embrace the weather, with some sheltering accommodations.

The owner, is not interested in fixing the wifi.. When asked the young lady behind the counter, she said.... " he does this as he does not want people " lounging all day, and prefers to not have wifi available." As a regular customer, setting up breakfast business meetings with full breakfast, usual tab about $40-50 dollars, we want to check on our messages. No, not here, NOT at Alon's. What a shame.. Such a fine place, but I am now done with this and will boycott, at my expense.. What a shortsighted position. I hope he has a big downturn on inhouse business. If you go there because of the fine food selections, get it to go. That seems the way the turkey wants it. I feel for the staff, they say they ask and ask to turn it on, to deaf ears. Pitiful.
Really Rude Service
Came in with a party of 6. Tried to place an order. I have a medical issue and can't wear a mask, the young guy behind the counter was a real jerk and made a huge scene scaring my child half to death. Another customer came over and tried to calm your employee down. We just wanted to know where we could go to order so as to not trouble anyone because my children were hungry and we wanted to make a purchase. Please note people that who have medical issues are protected by the ADA, educate your employees. Fortunately, after ordering, he went away, the food was worse than usual. You would really think this place would be grateful for customers, but no. It was a waste of $60. No wonder they are totally empty they are a shell of what they used to be.
