A Jewel In The Grove

By Christine D |

Every time we eat at this restaurant, we like it more and more. The decor is elegant and sophisticated and the food is unique and delicious. I highly recommend this place for any occasion.

Nice place to dinner in Coconut Grove.

The food is fabulous, really delicious, the meat is cooked perfectly. The waiters are friendly, the atmosphere is also nice. However, the wait time between the meals was a bit long.

One of the Best Restaurants in Coconut Grove

By Christina R |

Amal is a beautiful, elegant restaurant in Coconut Grove. Great food (Mediterranean) and great service. Best Hummus. Delicious Kefta Kabobs. This is one of our favorite restaurants in Coconut Grove. Christine D.

Pretentious & Overpriced

By Melissa M |

We were recommended by a friend to come to this restaurant on Expense Account Highway and were expecting a stellar experience. The lovely decor (inside seating) does not compensate for poor food and service. We had to ask for the special menu (“Summer Club” aka “Miami Spice”) and the waiter we had was hispanic not Lebanese. He knew some items on the menu/wine list and was friendly. . . However, the bartender/sommelier was arrogant and needs to be sent to hospitality school. Prices for wine are exorbitant and the wine list is difficult to read and does not highlight Lebanese wines. We were told that the chef/cook was Turkish. The food presentation was nice but didn’t make up for the mediocrity of the food. Coffee (Arabic, Turkish) is from a K-cup and not individually made to order. And, to top it off, the 20% tip is automatically added to the bill and they ask you, audaciously, for additional tips when they hand you the card machine. Really?!? My tip: go to Shaddai, a little over mile away. It is family run and the owner is 100 times more hospitable than this place.

Extremely Overpriced

Be prepared for a Sticker Shock Sat outside with my friend because no more tables inside. Then it rained and we moved our food and the sat at the bar. Traditional middle eastern food was good not spectacular but more then adequate What was not fair adequate or justified was the bill! I didn’t even look at the menu and ordered traditional apps and Kofta a traditional ground beef skewer for both with some vegs and 2 drinks each that’s it The bill came and was over $300 this is absolutely out of line we will not be back, I feel as I was robbed

Mediocre food but beautiful place

By david |

The restaurant has great visuals and music but the food is entirely mediocre. The hummus was like mortar, the beef kebab was dry and tasteless. Good service but the food simply doesn’t merit the price.

𝗕𝗘𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗘: 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝗵𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸𝘀! What would have been a wonderful GNO with delicious food at a beautiful restaurant turned into a 𝗿𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 that left a bitter taste, and an unfinished bottle of Prosecco 😳🤯, as were were asked to vacate our table due to a 2h dining policy that wasn’t informed to us when we were seated. The whole service felt rushed. We weren’t even finished with the appetizers and they wanted to take them away and clear the table… Same with the main courses. Dessert came with the bill! Despite our glasses were constantly topped off, we weren’t able to finish our drinks as 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗸𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁. Our options: go to the bar -which was full and no seats available- or go to Level 6 (restaurant upstairs). We opted to place our full glasses of Prosecco on the bar and leave. I highly doubt we’ll be back.

Great Food…Lousy Service

By GREATVOYAGE |

This was our second visit to this beautiful decorated and well appointed restaurant! Our first visit was outstanding…this was not so good🥹 The service was very consistent…just awful! The waiting staff was totally disengaged…uninterested in the customers. We had to beg for drinks, food and table cleaning between courses. It is a shame because the food - like the first time- was incredibly good!! Kudos to the kitchen🤩🤩 However, the experience was turned into a disastrous evening by the floor staff! Worse, when we received the check a 20% service charge was added to the bill 💵 🙃🙃 Just outrageous!! When commenting on the charge, the waitress informed us that this is their way to get paid! We thought people are supposed to work hard to earn their tip! In this particular case, a 20% service charge was not duly earned! BY THE WAY, BEWARE MOST MIAMI RESTAURANTS ARE ADDING 18% to 22% SERVICE CHARGE TO YOUR BILL!!!!!! Awesome Food, Disastrous Service🙃😌

Great Lebanese Food In The Grove

By mookie61 |

Unreal food--fresh and perfectly prepared. Our server said they are chef's family recipes and it shows. The pita was hot from the oven! The dips were the best I have ever had, And the grilled food was not dried out. Most importantly, nothing was salty-which sometimes happens at Mediterranean places. Service was engaging and super nice. Outdoor seating was nice, but even inside you feel like your are outside with the huge windows open.

AMAL - modern Lebanese food (with some "Hits" and some "Misses")

By byMT305 |

Located in the heart of Coconut Grove, AMAL is a stylish new restaurant with modern Lebanese food. The interior is spacious and pretty, the service and hospitality very nice, and the seating quite comfortable. The menu items are fresh made. Of the items that we tried, there were some winners, and others that were so-so: Cocktails - very good Margarita, and Passion Blossom (rye, passion fruits, lychee) Hummus and Pita bread - both homemade and tasty Fattoush salad - fresh salad with a tasty vinaigrette - unfortunately overpowered by too many fresh peppers (red, yellow, & green) - more lettuce greens would have helped Entrees - both entrees were well-prepared, but the flavors disappointed: Black cod - creamy tahini not our favorite flavors for this fish Lamb chops - sumac spices made the flavor much too sour Roasted cauliflower - very good Fresh Date cake a la mode dessert - excellent! All-in-all, the menu items for us had some "hits' and some "misses". There's room for improvement in this new modern Lebanese restaurant in South Florida (with the present rating being better than "Average" but less than "VERY good").

Horrible service

By Sydney A |

Came for a dinner with friends, the food was great but the service was absolutely terrible. Server was Moataz E. and he was inattentive and rude. Will not be coming back.

Fantastic food, terrible service

By Adolfo Cortés |

Fantastic food. Terrible service. The waitress forgot part of the order. It took 1 hour to get our drinks, the food arrived and the were no utensils.

Ridiculously expensive!

By AnNaAn77 |

This place is SO ridiculously expensive! You would think it is a high end place… drinks are $20 and the food is insanely expensive!! Not worth it at ALL!

Fabulous Experience

By PattyG76 |

The service was great, we absolutely loved the food, we all ordered different things and all coincide it was all fresh and prepared with the proper technique, also the drinks selection was amazing I believe this is a highly recommended restaurant.

Good Food; Spectacular Decor

By jamesprich |

Based upon recommendation from friends tried this restaurant. Quite popular and trendy. Tried one of the specialty drinks before dinner which was great. The hummus and kabobs were well prepared.

Very nice, you have to like the type of food

By roqo |

Couples food, the restaurant is very nice and has a very good wine cellar. Food is fine if you like this type of food. Reasonable service. At the end of dinner we climbed onto a terrace in the building itself for a drink, which is very comfortable

Awful Kafta Kabab

By Paulo B |

Went to Amal to try this new place . The amenities and the service are really outstanding. When it comes to the food I found it very bad. Ordered a simple Kafta Kabab and it was awful . Prices very high are not supported by the quality of the food they make. Will not go back!Do not recommend for people that know and enjoy Lebanese Cuisine !

Amazing Lebanese food unique and excellent in its own league

By Toyo3 |

Amazing Lebanese restaurant in the heart of Coconut Grove. Very elegant and refined with excellent service and fantastic food that is truly unique for Miami.

Great Lebanese food and vibe

By plonky74 |

I loved the place, the decor and the food. Everything we tried was great. Especially the mahamara and the fried eggplant. A must to try.

OK Entrees in Beautiful Restaurant

By Den |

Ordered three dips sampler, very tasty. Also as another appetizer the truffle rakakt delicious. After such great appetizers entrees (tenderloin kabab and branzino) were just ok. Good service in a beautiful room. Left side of the restaurant is the nicer area and away from the bar.

Tasty Lebanese food in beautiful setting

By pthomas156 |

Four of us enjoyed a dinner of sharing appetizers and hot mezzos at our first trip to Amal on a Tuesday night. The new Lebanese restaurant in the heart of downtown is beautiful, with exotic giant woven umbrellas floating over the tables and palms everywhere that made you feel like you were in the desert. Very stylish. We shared three dips with warm pita bread and loved them all (what a difference from buying them in the store). We also enjoyed Truffle Rakakat, 5 crisp rolls stuffed with pistachios, honey and mint. From the hot mezzo menu, we selected spinach mini pies with pine nuts, roasted cauliflower, chicken wings (sumac, spicy garlic and spicy sesame) and sujuk (aged beef sausages with tomatoes) which we subbed for makanek, with house beef sausages and pomegranate molasses. We were fully satisfied after all this, with no room for dessert. We also really enjoyed a Bekka Valley Lebanese wine called Merwah, Chateau Ksara Blanc 2019, $45. It was simply delicious. The sommelier urged us to check out the rooftop before we left, and it has a gorgeous view and would be a great space to have drinks.

Great Lebanese restaurant in the grove

By Jose KN |

Really good food and service. Our table was not ready and we had to wait and extra 30 mins at the bar. But the wait was worth it. All our dishes were great : kibbeh Nayeh, grape leaves, halloumi, kefta skewer, rice, knefeh for dessert. The ambiance was fun (and loud), service was vete attentive.

Exquisitely delicious cuisine and design aesthetic atmosphere.

By C. Carr |

We could not have chosen a better restaurant for a Parisian family reunion, with guests flying in from Paris and NYC to celebrate the New Year. The cuisine was unbelievably delicious and beautifully presented. The design and music vibe set the stage for a night of spectacular delight. Attentive hosts made sure every detail was taken care of, leaving us feeling like we had attended a private event at someone's beloved home.

Worst service of my life

By Chase M |

I went to dinner with my roommates and the food was great! The only problem was the service was insulting and had me sitting there for almost an hour. Our server's name was Moataz E and he was rude, ruining our night. I will not be returning again,

Amal Staff NEED IMMEDIATED TRAINING.

By Garth B |

I took a client to Amal last night for dinner. The Restaurant is beautiful and upscale in Coconut Grove. I made a reservation for 8 pm and when I arrived exactly at that time the hostess told me that she did not have a dinner table for us and said, "oh your reservation was made as an overbooked reservation, so we don't have a table for you. However, we have a high-top bar table for you". Meanwhile the restaurant was 40% occupied and clearly table were empty. She said go to the bar and we will get you if a table of 2 doesn't show up in 15 minutes. Wow, I had a reservation, no drinks were offered to us, as second-class patrons while we waited. I went back to the hostess stand 30 minutes later and she seated us at the same table, in an area that was not occupied when we first came in. We ordered dinner and was told that we had to order everything at that moment. the food was severed. Thirty minutes later and without exaggeration, the staff wanted to clear plates. It can be quite frustrating when restaurant staff constantly hovers around your table, pressuring you to clear your plates. We felt like we had our hands over the plates protecting our remaining food for 20 minutes or more before we finally gave up, paid the bill and left. It was a complete disruption in our dining experience and made us feel totally uncomfortable. Ideally, Amal restaurant staff should strike a balance between attentive service and giving diners space to enjoy their meal at their own pace. We were only seated for 50 minutes, from start to finish. Amal needs training 1000% .

Restaurant Review: Amal – Coconut Grove

By Kosette S |

Amal offers a truly delightful culinary experience. The ambiance is stunning, the service is gracious, and the food—elevated Levantine cuisine—is undeniably delicious. Every bite feels intentional, with flavors that are both vibrant and refined. However, diners—particularly groups with men at the table—should proceed with discernment when it comes to the wine service. The sommelier presents himself as knowledgeable and charming, but we encountered a disappointing practice: a quiet substitution of the selected bottle for another, significantly more expensive one. When questioned about the switch, we were assured it was “equivalent.” Yet the bill told a different story—four times the original cost. While Amal deserves praise for its kitchen and setting, this kind of upselling through vague sommelier tactics feels disingenuous and predatory. It’s a disappointing blemish on what should be a celebration of hospitality. Dine for the food, but order your wine with your eyes wide open.

Definitely returning

By hectorfrommiami |

Clean place, nice atmosphere, very good service, excellent food. Not cheap, but very worth a visit. Portions are good sized, and it is similar to steakhouses, where you see a portion and think you will be hungry, but once you start eating you lave the place full and satisfied. We will surely return, because we loved mainly the taste and presentation of the food and everything else there.

Save your time, save your money—this is without a doubt the worst restaurant in Miami.

By Catherine B |

Absolutely horrible place. The staff was beyond unprofessional and completely ruined what was supposed to be a special birthday celebration. From the start, our server made it clear he had no idea what he was doing. Every time we asked for suggestions, his response was, “Sorry, I’m new here.” When I asked about a brunch dish, he actually said, “Don’t order that, it’s disgusting.” Completely unacceptable. We still tried to enjoy ourselves, but after spending over $400 and not even being there that long, another waiter not even our own came over and asked us to leave. There was no reason given, no line waiting, and half of the restaurant was empty. It was humiliating and disrespectful, especially since we were there to celebrate my best friend’s birthday. The food was average at best, overpriced, and the service was hands down the worst I’ve experienced in Miami. With so many incredible restaurants in this city, this one should be avoided at all costs.

Amazing overall experience

By Mixilexi C |

This restaurant was on our go to list since its opening and we were not disappointed. It all started with the welcoming smile of Tina and the warm embrace from Gary. Once we sat, we were greeted by Jack best bartender/waiter (we sat at the high top tables by the bar due to no reservations) and we were amazed at the caliber of service, mouthwatering food and alluring ambiance. We were so delighted that we made reservations for next week to try additional plates. I can't rave enough about this place. We allowed Jack to guide us on what to order and we were ecstatic: amazing beef tenderloin, octopus, baba ghanoush, truffle rakakat, cauliflower and finally the date cake. Yes, it was only 2 of us and don't forget the drinks (not only beautiful but delicious). Truly an amazing addition to Coconut Grove. It felt like a warm, cozy dinning experience with a welcoming staff. HIGHLY A MUST for those looking for a great dinning experience.

No Matter What You Eat, I't going to be Delicious

By Dale D |

Last night my wife and I tried the new AMAL AMIAMI restaurant in Coconut Grove. They are situated in a new building next to Greenstreet on Main Highway. We were immediately greeted at the door by the general manager, and graciously led to our table The room is big, and airy, and beautifully decorated. Service was instantaneous for water and menus. We selected mostly recommendations, and every single thing they Brough was amazing. You really. cannot go wrong, but we mostly kept the appetizers and did not order any main dishes. Our selections included a Muhammara, delicious roasted red pepper dip. The taste was wonderful. A copious basked of puffy hot pita pickets and pita sliced was included. Then we had the crispy eggplant and zucchini slices. Non-greasy, and about 100 times more delicious than French fries. Finally a truffle rakatak, or Lebanese cheese rolls. Similar to the shape and size of spring rolls but filled with cheeses and a sweet sauce on top. No matter what you chose, it is good wonderful. Service was quick and efficient throughout the meal. All of the appetizers were $14.00 but the single glass of Sauvignon blanc west greatly over priced. If I had known the cost I would have declined it. We are definitely going back, but will not order wine again.

Second time they quick us out

By Carolina Ortiz |

It’s such a shame to have to say that a beautiful place with great food has horrible client service. Second time I visit and exactly at 1,5 hours in when you are starting to enjoy your evening and drinks they kick you out. Just like that OUT! Shame on you Amal’s manager. Client loyalty it’s worth more that another seating turn. Plus I would have spent at least 2 more bottles of wine. NEVER going again!!!!

Too many issues for a restaurant of this category

By Alejandro Infante |

We experienced too many issues for a restaurant of this category and price; first we were denied to move to an adjacent table of the same size and server, not even our server could understand why the hostess denied our request; then we found that the menu was for breakfast despite being 2:00 pm, it doesn’t matter if they call it brunch, it was a breakfast menu; the appetizers were good but the shakshuka entrees were totally bland, without a pinch of salt and merely two eggs on top of what it seemed canned tomatoes; the entrees came without pita bread, our server had to place a special request to the kitchen because “it was already closed”, seriously? How difficult is it? Finally, this was the most expensive breakfast of our lives. We do not recommend it
