A Fabulous Italian Dinner

By TheExplorerFamily |

We arrived with Reservations for six people and had a perfect dinner with the family for a special occasion celebration. We were surprised that the place was not crowded at all since it was a charming restaurant with authentic Amalfi coast vibes. Décor was very nice too. The Menu was large with great options for a variety of palates. There was even a kid’s menu. Between us we ordered one Bucatini Pasta with butter and cheese (kid portion), two Gnocchi with King Crab and Calamari, two Salmon Pistachio Fusilli Pasta, one Fusilli Pasta with Salmon and Arugula. We paired that with each of our favorite drinks – Montepulciano Abruzzo, a Midnight Margarita, a Sauvignon Blanc and one Chard Daou. The kid had Apple Juice. The desserts of Cannoli, Gelato and Pistachio Cake were the best we have ever eaten. The food was amazing. Every dish was plated perfectly with a huge amount of visual appeal. The portions were very generous, and we knew we would love the leftovers. Our server Matteo D was sweet. He was a fun guy who was also warm and attentive, and brought our 5-year-old grandson a little treat that went a long way. We will certainly return on our next visit to San Diego.

Fresh pasta

Came here to attend a holiday event with a party of 40. We were seated outside in the patio. We were all able to pay our own separate checks which made it so convenient. Keep in mind that the bread basket is not free. The fine print states $3. Everything on the menu sounds delicious. It just depends on how much you want to spend. The specials can range up to $60 or build your own pasta. I stuck with the classic and got bucatini bolognese. Food was amazing, staff was wonderful and lovely atmosphere. Plenty of parking. If you park by Trader Joe’s, the front entrance to the restaurant is on the other side facing the street.

One of the great, growing Amalfi family

One of two, soon to be three, restaurants of the family-owned Amalfi brand it more than met expectations. The restaurant is large with patio, bar, table and booth seating as is the menu - which carefully crafted offers a wide range of dishes from a manageable ingredient pantry. The special octopus dishes were especially notable and the pasts really appeared to be freshly made. Matteo was a friendly server and apparently a jack of all trades in the thinly populated restaurant. The Amalfi brand is developing a growing reputation in North County San Diego and this locale is going to even further enhance its reputation.
