Yummy

By snworb |

A few steps from our hotel we found this amazing Italian restaurant. We can only comment on the pizzas but we left happy and full. Very tasty and the prices were reasonable. Only negative was that the air conditioning was going full blast and we had to approach the management to warm the room.

Excellent Pizza and Service

By Barbara R |

In the midst of the pandemic, the measures they have taken to ensure the safety of their guests are impressive. Our server was excellent. The arancini appetizer was very good, as was our margarita pizza. We will definitely dine here again.

Great pizza place!!!

By jhae |

This is a good place for pizza. Make a reservation, otherwise you have to wait in line for a while! Italian beer, the pizza is just great!

Good Pizza

By alexaO7858IJ |

We stopped for some pizza and were pleasantly surprised! I recommend the Carnival Margherita that has ricotta cheese in the crust.

Horrible. That's All I Can Say

By Jonathan B |

I was hoping for a decent meal. Instead, it may be the worst Italian meal I've ever had. I started with the Lola Rosa Antipasta Insalate which is supposed to have prosciutto and salami. It came with neither, and I had to ask for it. And when they finally brought some out, the salami was in large chunks, which made them clunky to eat with the salad. My next dish was the veal piccata. The veal was thin and scorched, as in burnt. The scorched flavor was throughout the sauce (which lacked any hint of lemon). You can see the photo. The meat lacked any veal taste and was dry aside for the strong burnt taste. I showed it to the bartender (I was sitting at the bar to eat), and he kind of shrugged and asked me if I was going to eat it. I said no. He went back to get me another preparation, and that one was tiny, with very little sauce, and a few capers. The meat flaked like tuna. I told the bartender that this was unacceptable, and once again, he didn't seem too concerned. I chose not to order anything else. I am attaching photos of both efforts, although "effort" seems to generous as there was obviously none made.

Great calzone

By Kenmarsam |

We had a large group and the restaurant is not equipped to keeping the group together. But did their best to keep us together. None the less we sat next to each other in booths. The bruschetta was terrific. Small selection of wines and beers to choose from but good choices. I had the calzone as many of the folks at my table had. I would say that was one of the better calzones I’ve had. Several members of our party had the pizzas that looked quite good and they stayed were very good. Our server was fun and sassy.

Lobster ravioli was the hit!

By Jeni |

This restaurant was amazing in helping set up a group dinner for 28 people. Not an easy thing! Everything from our very attentive and professional waiters, the food and atmosphere created a perfect setting that kicked off our week long meetings in downtown Atlanta.

Italian food

By MVARANGO |

Delicious Italian food, very good service and Tomasa lovingly attended us, hot and well served. I recommend the Caesar salad

Beware Credit Card Surcharge

By Xamb |

The pizza was not bad, but nothing special. There was a surcharge for paying with a credit card, with no warning on the menu or when asked to pay. This is not fair to customers. If warned, I would have paid cash - or not come to the restaurant at all.

Affordable, Good just not Great

By RJ O |

From the location to the atmosphere to the appetizers to the menu selection, Amalfi has all the makings of a great pizza place. Make sure you order the Peppadew Peppers for the appetizer. Their buratta is good just not great. I ordered the Margherita Pizza Carnevale Style. It was good not great. The great thing about this place is that it isn’t too high priced. Five of us ate for $130 tip included.

Great kalimari and pizza

By howard b |

I have visited Amalfi several times last year as I work close by. I love kalimari. Almafi has delicious kalimari. The Pizza is great also! Wait staff is attentive and friendly. Food service is fast.

Authentic Italian with Great Atmosphere

By Beth D |

I’m pretty picky about Italian restaurants after many years of cuisine in Italy. This place is great! The atmosphere is magical; you step off an Atlanta street into a little slice of the Amalfi Coast. Loved my Nonna’s Spaghetti and Meatballs and our service, despite a hiccup or two, was good. Will definitely return!

Stuff that crust

By DawgExplorer |

I visited here alone after a visit to the Americasmart. The indoor walkway feels like an Italian patio leading up to the hostess with fountains, brick, and paintings. The inside of the restaurant used to be a warehouse and shows the exposed beams and brick walls. The atmosphere is simply great. The food equals the atmosphere. I had the amalfi ricotta stuffed pizza with sausage and peppadew peppers that were nice and sweet. The only negative I would say is that the toppings did not stay on the crust. They kept sliding off which made it difficult to eat. The ricotta stuffing was great and made the last bites of each piece the very best. Service was great and I ate the whole pizza without feeling bad at all.

Expected much better based on other reviews

By EmeraldIsleNCGirl |

Walking in, the restaurant is charming with a fountain area, plants, and nice bricks that are very relaxing. The restaurant itself is more modern, with an area to watch the pizza being made. They were out of kids menus, so it was fortunate that I had brought markers for the kids to draw on the paper tablecloth. We had a side caesar salad that fed all of us (2 adults, 2 kids), and the adults shared a pizza, which is fine for those who aren't starving. We got the Amalfi pizza, which sounded amazing but was really just meh. The crust was fine, but the pizza itself was kind of soggy and lacking much flavor.

Amazing Restaurant

By MawBeck |

We were here with a large group for dinner. Our leader had made the reservations for our group and they had a long table for us. This restaurant is more than just pizza. a couple of my companions had the pizza, a couple had spaghetti and a couple of us had calzone. I had the Stenfano calzone and it was great. You can see the oven and watch the cooks work. The wait staff was excellent. I would eat here again.

Excellent restaurant!!

By EstelafromSpain |

This is one of my favorite places to go for pizza in Atlanta. To start, the place and atmosphere are phenomenal! This place is great to go for a date night, with friends and business dinner. And then here comes the food. I always order the calamari as an appetizer and then share an awesome pizza. The last time I went, we tried the stuffed crust and it was just delicious. Service was very good as well :)

Nice venue and food - ambivalent service

By Colin H |

Walking in to this old warehouse that is nicely decorated I had high hopes for our family lunch. The hostess showed us to a booth with seats clearly covered in crumbs. The server didn't really interact and was looking all around the room when taking our order pausing to give a surly "No - we don't do that" to my 11 yr old asking for pepperoni, whilst not offering any alternatives. On leaving no one looked up from their desks or said good bye - shame this place had potential

GREAT SERVICE DURING PANDEMIC

By cec10591 |

EXCELLENT food and white glove service came to the curb to deliver my food. VERY IMPRESSIVE AND SERVER DEMEANOR WAS VERY UPBEAT. Glad their are giving it their best!!!!!

Ridiculous

By FrDma |

Sorry folks… not Italian at all… pizza was good but: a) I asked for mozzarella di bufala on it, it wasn’t… just regular cow mozzarella. b) I ordered a caprese salad, which is: sliced tomato, mozzarella Di bufala, olive oil, salt and basil, they brought me a rucula salad, with cherry tomatoes and regular mozzarella… c) I asked for a little bit of olive oil, the server answered: “we don’t have any”… HORRIBLE

Not bad for being in the USA

By Alan_Righetti |

Nice location, as well as meals (considering you are in the States). Pasta with meatballs and pizza, not bad (never like in Italy, but not bad!). Prosecco tasted as well as almost impeccable service. Bravi!

Ok food - sloppy service

By Magnar Mo |

Had a starter and a pizza. They changed servers as I sat there and somehow the pizza order was forgotten. The mussels were ok but not very good. Enjoyed the meat lovers pizza.

Authentic!

By Janice S |

We ate a delightful lunch at Amalfi. We started with Caprese salad and bread. Then we shared a Margherita pizza which was so fresh! Ended our meal with canoli. The flavor profile of the ingredients were perfectly balanced.

Terrible

By Baard7800 |

We went to Amalfi Pizza after the place was recommended by our hotel. Ordered pizza and beer, where most beers on the list were not in stock... The pizza never arrived at the table, and after 45 minutes we let the server know for the second time that we never got any food. She then got us pizza, but not the type we ordered.... After one hour we still are waiting for the last pizza and hopefully a miracle will happen before they close...

Rude, rude, rude staff in a very non-Italian restaurant

By samslondon |

We arrived in Atlanta on Sunday evening and got to the restaurant about 8.30pm -- which is a perfectly normal time for the UK or Europe, but seems to be clearing up time in the US. They were only offering pizza - pasta and the rest of the menu unavailable - but we decided to go with it. It was clear as soon as we arrived that it was very, very empty but despite the fact that there were about 3 members of staff wandering around, we had to wait for the person on the "welcome" desk to finish taking a long takeaway order by phone. Her attitude was woeful - she pretty much rolled her eyes at the temerity we had at wanting a table. We were offered one table and I asked for one next to it that looked more comfortable (with bench seating) - more eye rolling. Despite it being virtually empty the waiter eventually ambled over and, in his own time, brought us some water. I specifically checked what was and wasn't available so that we didn't waste another 10 minutes choosing something that was "off". Shame I didn't do the same with the wine - big wine list but only one or two wines available, unsurprisingly not the cheaper ones. It appeared to me that the only person doing any work there was the pizza chef. The food was ok - not amazing, and definitely not Italian (there were grammatical errors in the "Italian" menu) - but not terrible. Before we'd finished our one course the waiter asked if we wanted the bill. I said no, since we were still eating. A few minutes later he brought it anyway as the till system was closing. Shame they didn't think about that when they made us wait 15-20 minutes before we actually ordered any food. As we left the surly woman on the front desk wished us a great evening. Classic example of the American cliche - say one thing, mean the opposite. Thankfully we have a sense of humour and came away laughing about what a "warm" welcome we'd received to Atlanta.

Wonderful Meal

By Robin D |

My husband and I went with another couple to eat at Amalfi Pizza for our anniversary. We were drawn to this restaurant because of the wood fired oven we read about online. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious, the ambience great, and the service good. We will definitely return soon.

Italy where? 🤬

By Teresa R |

The only thing they have that is ITALIAN is the music that will accompany your regret of having sat at the table...uncommentable dishes

Good food good service

By Ella_Salita |

We were a big group and made reservations ahead. What was refreshing was when we arrived there all the tables were already set. Each dish we ordered came out from the kitchen like clockwork that we did not have to wait. The food was good too specially their pizza and Nonna’s spaghetti and meatballs. Staff are friendly as well. That added to the plus factor that made our dining here a pleasant one.

best pizza EVER in the USA. I’m Italian and I love this place

By Travellover |

The atmosphere is just like Italy! There is little balconies with nice views that look so real! It’s an amazing and well run place. THANKS TONIO FOR ALL YOU DID ❤️❤️ wish I was having this pizza right now!

Something for everyone

By TravelerProfSue |

It is often hard to find a place for a group of people that is affordable, offers lots of choice, is good, and can accommodate a midsized group. Amalfi ticked all the boxes. The wait staff were wonderful, attentive, and friendly. The food was great. Wish I was in town longer so I could return. Most people in my group had pizza and loved it. One person returned the next day and took pizza home. I had gnocchi and it was lovely.

Family DragonCon stop

By StJohnsSteve |

Second year in a row we had a family dinner here. Pizza was perfect. Service was spot on. Had the breakfast one, the meat lovers, and a few others. The stuffed crust is perfect. Thank you for taking such good care of our large Party!

Wonderful Pizza, Problem Environment

By TiffanyMS8 |

This was by far one of the best pizzas I've ever had- shrimp, fresh mozzarella, spinach- wonderful! That said, after a long day of work, I was super excited to sit and have a nice dinner and drink to end the day. The restaurant is cool- rustic and lovely and the service was beyond wonderful. The problem is- it apparently sits on top of a speak easy where there is a lot of cigarette and cigar smoking happening. Thus, the whole Amalfi restaurant, no matter where you sit, smells like smoke. I'm allergic, so after ordering a meal I was anxious to enjoy, I had to get them to pack it up so I could walk it back to my hotel room to eat it out of the smoky environment. There were really great about it- again- wonderful service. It's just such a shame to be exposed to smoke smell in the dining room. I'm guessing nothing can be done about this- but it's super unfortunate.

Terrific lunch in a beautiful decor

By Mathieu M |

Great lunch (very fast and friendly service) and great tasting (rigatoni and pizzas were delicious). Love the decor with view on an interior courtyard that looks like Italy. Overall I recommend!

Fantastic find in downtown ATL!

By Clay S |

In town for a conference at the Sheraton and wanted to explore local pizza. Heard about several spots, but I’m thrilled I found Amalfi in walking distance. It was INCREDIBLE! Wonderful atmosphere, friendly and thoughtful staff, and most importantly, killer pizza! Dough was as fresh as it gets, and the sauce/pepper combo was spot on. In my opinion, if you can’t smell the wood burning, you’re not eating the right pizza. And the price is super reasonable too, as most pies are $14 and can be split. Check this place out!

There probably are great restaurants in Atlanta, GA, this is NOT one of them. Awful restaurant. Awful food.

By John B. N |

Absolutely awful food. Their “best selling” Nona’s spaghetti and meatballs was the worst. The pasta was stuck together, undoubtedly because it sat on a plate too long before they threw some really bad sauce, a block of cheese and meatballs on it before they microwaved it all together. Pizza came out in under 5’ from order time to table. Pre-made, sat around for a while in their kitchen. Soggy crust. Tasteless “signature” pasta con camberi. Marsala pasta had hot & cold chicken pieces in it. Probably thrown together and microwaved. Grocery store variety Canolli. Limoncello martini served in a whine glass. I have never tasted piss in my life but I bet this came close. They did get three things right. The waiter was very professional. The water was without aftertaste. They could not screw up the wine. It was corked in front of us. The restaurant shares the kitchen with the sushi restaurant next door. A parade of sushi dishes through a curtain and on to next door. I feel for those folks too. JUST DONT! Find a grocery store, buy some frozen Italian diners and microwave them in your hotel room. You’d be better off. Just don’t!

Brick Oven Good

By Diane P |

Went here to try the brick oven pizza which was very tasty. Ordered a pizza with mushrooms, garlic and caramelized onions and a Caesar salad with calamari. Both were very good. The only thing to mention is that the floor vibrates from the MARTA train nearby.

Hidden gem in downtown ATL

By jabes_journeys |

The food, ambiance, and service were exceptional. We started with the Sautè di Cozze for an appetizer, I had the Cioppino for my entree, and my husband had the Lobster Ravioli. We indulged in a Cello Drop and an Espresso'tini for our beverages. Everything was 10/10. Our server, Ricky, was very accommodating and amiable. The restaurant's vibe was upbeat and fun.

Wonderful

By Vasco21190 |

Best Pizza in the South! The ricotta stuffed crust is delicious. Best pizza in the great city of Atlanta as well!!

Beautiful place, lovely service, delicious fire stone pizza!!

By Alexandria Dutcher |

Service: 5/5. Atmosphere: 5/5. Food: 4/5 (pizza was the stand out) Drinks: 5/5 I wish my husband and daughter liked their entrees as much as I LOVED my pizza. We all agree we would return if we were in ATL again only they would try something different.

Excellent service average food

By DRL615 |

Richard was an excellent server and handled a party of 6 with ease. Restaurant wasn’t loud. Food was just average, needed more seasoning, dry chicken, etc. Most restaurants in this part of Atlanta are stuck in the 1980’s so it could use a refresh.

Great pizza and upscale dining room

By MerJim |

We ate at an Amalfi in Memphis and enjoyed the food. This restaurant is much more elegant than the one in Memphis. Big booths, table cloths, etc. When we walked in, we asked to be sure we were in the right place. Definitely recommend!

Great Italian Food Downtown

By Alice D |

We dropped in on a late afternoon and so almost had the place to ourselves. Our server was great, there just when you needed him but not at all intrusive. We had the Blossom Fritti and Artichoke Francaise for appetizers. Both delicious. We split the Salmon Picatta between the two of us and found it to be plenty and excellent. A great find in downtown Atlanta.

Just ok

By agirlreading |

It's a cute little place, but I thought the food was just ok. What I didn't enjoy was the cigarette smell throughout the place. We asked about it and apparently they are above a cigar bar and being an old building, it emanates upstairs. I'm really sensitive to cigarette smoke, so that made it a less enjoyable experience. Not sure it's accessible; you go up a big flight of stairs. I didn't notice an elevator, but it's possible it's hidden.

Bread does not a pizza make

By jorro1 |

Nicely designed restaurant, contemporary feel. Waitress excellent. Pizza looks photogenic and pretty. But honestly it does not live up to the promised standard. The toppings are fine and tasty, but this is by no means a thin crust pizza. It is like a fat, unhealthy, doughey, chewy, donutty bread. The first couple of pieces are OK while it's still hot, but by the time you get to the third slice, and realise that you are eating what feels like a loaf of lumpy bread, it becomes unpalatable. Sorry guys, this is not Neapolitan style pizza. it is like a well-dressed version of a sloppy takeaway. Pizza autentica? Mai, mai, mai.

YUM!

By Linnea O |

I really enjoy going to Amalfi's - the experience is great. From the time you walk down the little alley to the stairs to get to the resturant. The atmoshpere is very nice with the faboulous little entry to the table cloths even at lunch. Then the food is excellent. I've enjoyed going to this resturant multiple times and it never disappoints.

Excellent pizza and desserts

By Francesco P |

If you are in Atlanta, Georgia USA, I recommend an excellent stop from Amalfi: a Neapolitan DOC pizzeria in the heart of Altanta Downtown. I’m from Napoli Italy and I love exploring and tasting the Neapolitan pizza around the world done by the associates of the Vera Pizza Napoletana (Real Neapolitan Pizza). This is really worth! We tried the Carrettiera and a diavola and ended the lunch an excellent and fresh cannolo and ice cream. Highly recommended!!

Dinner with Colleagues

By Traveler P |

Dinner with 4 colleagues during a conference at Hyatt Regency. Nice atmosphere for a casual meal. We had various forms of the personal pizza pies. No complaints. A few cocktails rounded out the night. Might return if in nearby.

Not my favorite

By Catmom24 |

It was late and our choices were pretty limited in downtown Atlanta for dinner. We were looking for a place that didn’t have a long wait and wasn’t a chain. This wasn’t a great choice. We were seated in a rounded booth that had poor cushions—some were high and some folks sank down. Three of us ordered pizza and one ordered steak. Despite the menu description one of the pizzas had to come with broccoli rather than spinach but my friend was fine with this. I got the margarita pizza. The crust was pretty burnt, but since I was hungry I made do. The friend who ordered the $32 steak was also told that her veggie choice was different from the menu. They had no green beans but she could have a salad. She got a huge lean piece of steak and said it was good. The atmosphere is dark and sketchy. We had a slight view of the pizza ovens but I just didn’t feel like the place was clean or in a safe place. You walk up a great many steps to get to the hostess stand so if walking up steps isn’t your thing, you’ll want to skip this place. The pizzas could be shared by two people if you ordered a salad or appetizer also. It was a 10 inch pizza with 6 small slices for $10-11. Nice to check out some local places for variety, but I would skip this one if I returned to downtown Atlanta.

More than just pizza

By Steven H |

Risotto, beet salad and caprese salad. Three different entrees all with the same result. Wonderful. Highly recommend you try this place. The ac was also great. Bring a sweatshirt

Poor food and poor service ( Stay away)

By Ilbu |

I am surprised by the rating for this restaurant. My wife and I ordered the burrata, diavola pizza and beef medallions with baked gnocchi. The burrata was decent and that was it. The rest was just bad. The pizza did not do justice to the menu description nor to the wood fire oven - burnt, soggy and flavorless. The beef itself was decent but the baked gnocchi was all left over. One bite was all we needed to get the picture. Honestly, the microwaved Trader Joe’s gnocchi is leaps and bounds above this gnocchi. Very floury, heavy and unflavorful. Disappointing dinner overall. Service was ok. The food came out lightning quick. Drinks were never offered to be refilled and as some other reviewers mentioned, the wait staff seemed to expect our criticism like it was an everyday occurrence.

Amazing ambiance

By Chase V |

This is authentic pizza like what you get in Europe. The wooden chandeliers and exposed beams in the ceiling as well at the lit trees, make a really nice date night atmosphere. We tried the regular burrata which was very good and the Quattro formagio was authentic. Would love to return and try the margharita. Simple ingredients done well and cooked in the large ovens seen inside. Skip the chains for pizza and try out how it tastes like in Italy.

Deserves less than one star

By Michael M |

In all of the cities that I have stayed and all the restaurants that I have eaten, never have I walked out in such disgust. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. I wanted a coffee; however, they did not have coffee. I asked for some bread and was informed that they did not have any bread. When my meal arrived, three golf ball-sized meatballs actually are semi-passable for food. The spaghetti was cooked to almost complete mush and had an absolute terrible flavor. There were approximately two tablespoons of sauce on the spaghetti. I put the meal aside pay the $21 and promptly left the wait staff did not even bother to ask if there was a problem or if they could rectify the situation. I feel that this is something that has occurred in the past and will happen in the future. Do yourself a favor, when you want Italian food, keep walking past this restaurant.

Fantastic!

By Ronda O |

The restaurant is upstairs, I believe there is an elevator, but you may want to call ahead if needed. You should probably call ahead for reservations, although we didn’t, it was a Wednesday and they seated us in about 30 minutes. Great atmosphere, and friendly service. Now, the pizza........amazing! All hand tossed, in fact you can watch them from the dining room. Fresh ricotta cheeses and great toppings. It was even good cold the following day. I will definitely come back!

Great pizza and drinks!

By Taylor H |

We were in town seeing a concert and wanted pizza. The pepperoni pizza and lasagna calzone were great. Our waitress Olivia was awesome. We will definitely visit again!

Nice place good food

By nemrac22 |

When we first came in we were surprised at how great the place looked, it had a warm feel to it. The food was delicious and would definitely recommend the Rissotto con funghi. The waiters were quick and friendly. I would definetly reccomend this place for families.

Almost Very Good

By Aaron G |

A majority of people would love it. Remember, for pizza to be rated Excellent it has to knock your socks off. It was definitely better than average due in part to the ovens. I can tell the ingredients are fresh and the dough is sweet but I’m also rating the entire experience. The Caesar salad was just ok, the napkins were paper not cloth, and the pizza was a little too soft.

Not impressed

By Bill D |

Just so so....pizza had almost no cheese so Everytime I picked up a slice all of the toppings slid off on to the plate. Crust was bland and sauce didn't have much flavor. Honestly, little Caesars taste better

Couple of bumps, but overall, a great experience and tasty pizza!!

By dolphin80 |

I came here on the Friday night before the Peach Bowl, which to everyone's amazement, I was NOT in town for, but it did cause for quite the crowded evening. Read my review as not everything was perfect and there were a few bumps....read on: Thankfully, last month, I scouted out a few restaurants prior to my trip and made reservations on OpenTable. So that is my first tip...if you plan on coming here during a busy time, make a reservation will ahead of time. There were a ton of people waiting when my family and I arrived, and I expected a wait even with a reservation. To my amazement, the second I checked in with the hostess, she walked us past everyone who was waiting, right over to our table, right near where the pizzas were being made. One thing that irks me a bit is that I have kids, twin 9yr old boy and girl. This place has kids menus, but did not bring them to us. They handed my kids regular menus...uh, hello? So I sent my son up to the hostess stand to ask for two kids menus, and we got them. Our server came over fairly quickly and was very friendly. She got our drinks in a timely fashion, as well as coming back to take our dinner order. As an app, we ordered the Burratta cheese with cherry tomatoes. My son and daughter both ordered pizza...they wanted pepperoni, but this place calls that spicy salami (Okayyy). My wife ordered the shrimp pizza, and I of course, ordered the meat lovers pizza, which sounded phenomenal.....sausage, ground beef, spicy salami, bacon jam, etc. The Burratta cheese was aweeesommeee...so creamy. My wife had never had it and was amazed. So after a normal amount of time, my kids' pizzas and my wife's pizza come to the table, delivered by staff other than my server. I was fully expecting my pizza to follow suit, but it didn't come. Not after a minute, not after five minutes. Our server came over apologized, and said she would check on the pizza. Thankfully, we share in our family, so I swiped a slice of my wife's shrimp pizza, which tasted fantastic. Another five minutes went buy, still, my pizza didn't come. I was getting to the point where I was just going to say cancel it, as I was getting full from stealing slices from my kids' pizza and my wife's. However, just as I was going to flag our server down, guess what, my pizza finally showed up....it was piping hot, just the way I like it...I guess they saved the best for last, because let me tell you, I'm glad I didn't cancel my order...this was one awesome tasting pizza. I'm just upset it didn't come out with the rest our food as it should have. I never really got a true apology for this, or even some sort of comp, but I'm ok with it. I don't blame our server, as it appears something went wrong in the kitchen, and the reason I didn't see her much when it happened is that she was trying to get it done fast for me. All in all, aside from the snafu of having to wait longer than my family for my meal, I will say that the food was top notch, and a damn good pizza experience. When we left, there were even MORE people waiting for tables, and it looked like it was going to be a long night. In reading some of the recent reviews from other folks there during that time frame, it looks like others had it MUCH worse than I, but still, I would recommend this place for a great pizza experience, if you can get it!! ;-)

Good pizza but not great

By travelpr0123 |

This is an attractive restaurant with the flair of a restored industrial space, high ceilings and nice tall metal windows. The pies come from a wood-fired oven which looks like an authentic Neapolitan oven. The pizzas had a good crust, nicely charred, and a good bottom. But they still don't compare to the real Neapolitan pizza. The pizzaiolo adds too much tomato sauce and the dough/flour (VERDE) doesn't smells fresh despite the fact that it is actually an approved supplier of the "True Neapolitan Pizza" ("Vera Pizza Napoletana"). Service was ok.

Amazing pizza and service!

By RML1995 |

Pizza was amazing! Wood fired with sweet red sauce. Mylita gave amazing service and was very welcoming, she is amazing!! Small quaint restaurant. Highly recommend visiting!

Would not return

By Kathleen W |

I was visiting downtown Atlanta; thought I'd try this pizza place. Tried to call in an order for pick up - no answer to the phone # found online, called several times. Per Google, this is a take-out place. Unfortunately, I continued to pursue (wish I had gone elsewhere). Ended up ordering via GrubHub. The food was terrible, no silverware for a salad, the salad was limp, pizza was stone cold, the crust was burned on the side and bottom. Personal preference but the sauce was too sweet. The delivery was delayed although the app said the driver had arrived. The location was less than two miles from my hotel and it was well after rush hour. Would never order this food again and certainly was less than pleased with the service. What a disappointment when trying to enjoy a new location.

Sunday brunch Italian style

By Michelle |

I was here on a Sunday at lunch and I walked in and was seated right away. My server was friendly and attentive. I had champagne as it was brunch time. I ordered a roasted beet salad that was flavorful with lots of beets, goat cheese and candied walnuts. I also ordered the Margherita pizza. I was a little disappointed that there were only 2 pieces of basil on it but not enough to send it back. It was still tasty with a crunchy crust and good flavor. Overall I had a great experience and would recommend this restaurants to friends that were visiting.

Tourist trap, uneven food

By Bill M |

Our party of 5 waited about an hour and a half because this had been rated well on the sites we checked (our fault - we didn't make reservations, so we gladly waited). Our food orders arrived at our table at random times, so we decided to not wait for everyones and to just share. Unfortunately, one order was mistaken (order was a classic Calzone. What arrived was stuffed with meat) and the person had waited for so long they returned it and declined to reorder. Anothers order actually never arrived till the waiter asked about our bill and we told him. This happened to be Chicken Marsala, which we had him pack into a to go box. However, it was not like any Marsala we'd ever had (Marsala is a wine with a unique taste) and got thrown out! We did get these 2 meals comped, but one has to ask where the quality control is - isn't the waiter responsible for checking before the food gets to the table? The only positives follow: The Tiramisu, which one described as the best she'd ever had. Other good choices were the Burrata (stuffed Italian Mozzarella) and Polpette (3 homemade meatballs). However, the price of the 2 latter items were almost $13 each, so a bit pricey. No comment on the other orders, as they were just OK, and the wait spoiled our evening. Not sure if this was a one-off, since there was a large gymnastics convention in town and maybe they were overwhelmed. However, it was our feeling that Atlanta probably has many such events and this restaurant has some internal problems. We don't live in town so won't have to make a choice, but my advice is to avoid this place till you see what the current rating trend is

Decent pizza in a great space

Again, pizza snob strikes. I wanted this to be ethereal- like Pizzaria Mozza in LA- but the pies are adequate. I think they need to work on their crust a bit as the toppings are generally interesting if a bit sweet. I love the dining room. They have done a great job restoring the space and keeping the integrity of the bones. If you get a chance to go downstairs to the "gentleman's club" byt all means treat yourself to a $150.00 cigar!

Family Friendly Italian

By Karincent |

Good spot for a big party (we had 20). Would be a good spot to take kids/family. Nice char on the pizzas. Salads were good. The kitchen was a little disorganized with execution of the entrees but otherwise a solid choice.

Great Pizza in Atlanta? Yes!

By M M |

What a delightful surprise to find a charming and affordable sit-down restaurant with terrific pizza in downtown Atlanta! The imported stone oven is key in turning out crispy yet tender pizza crust. We kept it simple with the Margarita and were pleased with the smoky flavored crust and fresh sauce and cheese. This pizza rivals the best anywhere!

Great place to stop

By kterm |

Great place to stop by for lunch, they also serve dinner but gets really crowded. When you walk in in the entrance is amazing you wouldn’t think you’re downtown Atlanta.. you walk upstairs and it’s even better. The greenery the atmosphere. The paintings on the wall are so relaxing., great wine and appetizers. I’ve also been there for dinner very crowded and I believe the appetizers are better unless you order a pizza they’re very good and a salad.. atmosphere is wonderful though and very relaxing. Being in downtown Atlanta, must stop.

Decent at first, fabulous finish

By Donna H |

We found this restaurant by accident while eating Mexican the night before. With a date night on the horizon we decided to make a reservation. Sunday, January 26th at 7pm. Upon arrival we were seated in a nice booth and waited for our server, while the wait was a little longer than usual the server, Anthia, came over and immediately apologized. She worked her tail off to make our date night great but the restaurant failed her. Little things went awry and being a newly hired server she didn’t know how to fix the recurring issues. We tipped her well and chalked it up to a mediocre night out. But then, I ran into the manager Seth. He apologized profusely and insisted we come back and give them another shot. He invited us for lunch the next day. We arrived and met Jennifer, another manager. We told her our story and she immediately turned things around. From her warm smile, her sunny southern accent and efficiency were beyond compare! The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable! Definitely give Amalfi a try, it’s worth it! Oh and order the mozzarella en carozza! ❤️

Amalfi Cucina & Mercato

Amalfi Cucina & Mercato - Downtown Atlanta has delicious and flavorful Italian food. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating to make sure you have the best meal.

Some of the best pizza in a really nice atmosphere

By Jeff K |

So many choices to eat in Atlanta but one of the most casual dining experiences we had was at Amalfi Pizza. It seems like a little hole in the wall when you approach it from the street but it is quite surprising when you enter. Fountains and murals along the wall with Italian music including Dean Martin. You walk up the stairs and there you are. The imported fired pizza ovens make a delicious pizza. The service was very good and the special drinks are delightful. Make sure you get your pizza prepared Carnivale which is prepared with ricotta cheese folded into the crust. It is reasonably priced and a parking garage is right next door. I recommend this place highly.

Transport you to Italy

By Sonya Ramos |

This restaurant has an amazing ambiance and food. Music is great and transport you to the amalfi coast! My waitress was amazing and attentive.

Place looks great, sorry to see so less.

By Hans E |

You can only enter the place with a reservation, which is ok. I took the bar. Took long to get the food out. Price is ok. Wine could be better. OK for a quick dinner. Went back the following day, as in the area it is or ghetto or fast food. This time the food took twice the amount of time to get out. Plates are not removed. You have them in the way all the time. Creditcard machine did not work. Had to pay cash. Luckily I had it on me. Called and there was nothing wrong, expcept for the machine there.

Great food, good service!

By Diana C |

Went here for a work dinner. They did a great job accommodating our large group. Food was delicious - served buffet style. They did run out of some items which was disappointing. Very noisy environment but great atmosphere. Service was very good.

Fine!

By Culinaristje |

Delicious food and very nice service. Perfect location and just very nice interior. Wide choice of delicious Italian dishes. Price quality is very good. Fresh ingredients, good wine list. Hospitality is genuinely good!

Excellent food and fantastic service

By ladybuginthesouth |

We went to this restaurant on Father’s Day. We were able to get a seat as soon as they had opened even though we did make reservations for later. Our server was Addison. He made the whole experience from start to finish fun and extremely enjoyable. He gave excellent suggestions on the appetizer and the dinners. We were very happy that he told us to go with our entrées for seven dollars we could get a side salad, which was almost twice the size that we normally would get at other restaurants . Also, he made a wonderful lemon cello martini Since he also is bartender. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone we had a table that looked out on the pretend Italian street which added atmosphere to our dinner.

Pizza FANTASTICA

By Natasha Ayala |

The Quattro Formagio (4 cheese) pizza is the best I've ever had. Flavor and softness was perfection. We also tried the Lasagna pizza and the calamari fritti. Good selection of wine. It's a very lovely and romantic atmosphere, the music really makes you feel you are in a hidden corner of Italy. Our server JolieJ was a sweetheart. Thank You for a nice dinner date.

Nice vibe

By samanthor |

We always make a reservation at Amalfi (or hit it at an obscure time) when we visit downtown Atlanta. We pretty much always get the truffle oil/mushroom pizza, and it's delicious. Decent wine selection, friendly servers and a laid back environment. Recommend it if you are here for work and need a spot to chill and regroup.

Don’t go during peak hours w/o a reservation!

By MRT4 |

Two people, arrived at 4:50pm on a Saturday. We were told 25-35min wait. We left at 6:30pm after not being seated and being told numerous times it wouldn’t be long or just a sec. I’m sure the food would be great but it would have been really nice if they would have told us how long it would actually take when we arrived. Won’t be going back EVER!

Food was good, service was not!

By Excursion402108 |

Although we had booked a table we still had to wait for 20 minutes for it to be ready. The staff at the front desk were irritated when we complained! The service was not good but the food was great!

Good Neapolitan Pizza

By radx4 |

We had a very nice lunch at Amalfi. The restaurant specializes in pizza, and that dominates the menu. However, there are other options available for those looking for alternatives. My wife had a margarita pizza, and I had a Caesar salad with chicken. The salad was actually very nice with fresh ingredients and nicely cooked chicken. The pizza was good as well with a nice sauce and good crust. While not the best pizza we've ever had, it was nice to get some real Neapolitan pizza. Overall, I would recommend Amalfi to anyone looking for some nice pizza in Atlanta.

Wow, this pizza will give NYC pizza a run for their money

By rem230 |

Went there with the kids and were received with great hospitality. We all had an individual pizza en everyone was better than the other. The salads were awesome as well. I would definitely try their signature pizza with the "star" corners.

Highly Recommend

By Deborah W |

My husband and I truly enjoyed both the food and the service. We had mushroom pizza and a risotto dish; they were delicious! Arkita was very attentive:)

Fantastic atmosphere!

By Kimmie |

Good location. The atmosphere is welcoming. The service was great. We ordered pizza and the center was a little undercooked but was still tasty. That's the only reason for the 4 star. (Didn't send it back because it had been a long day already) I'd still recommend.

Amazing!

By Tonya B |

Excellent staff and the pizza was amazing! Several wood fired ovens you can see, the decor and the food was all wonderful! Would definitely go back if I was in Atlanta.

Pizza Perfection!

By Guitarjess |

I consider myself a bit of a pizza snob. I love wood fired, coal fired, BBQ'd and anything that makes the crust taste not like Papa John's. We found this place after looking on TripAdvisor near our hotel and decided the reviews can't be wrong. The entry way and aroma as we walked in told us we must be in pizza paradise! My husband had a meat type of pizza and my daughter and I split a Lasagna Calzone. They took the ingredients in lasagna and put them inside of a crust and made a Calzone masterpiece. The ingredients were fresh and full of flavor and the crust...well, it was a little piece of heaven! The wait staff was friendly and helpful and we wish we'd had room for dessert! I don't know when we'll get back to Atlanta, but this place will be on our list!

Tasty pizza, slow service - reservations a must on weekends

By BriardM0m |

If you live in the area, try to visit during the week when I presume it is less crowded. If you must visit over the weekend, make reservations or expect to sit uncomfortably for an hour or more until your table is ready and then moments more for a server. I had read reviews that this place had the best pizza in the area, I think they might have the best salads. Those were superb - my husband had the chicken and avocado and he generally doesn't eat chicken not caring for the taste. He asked for a plain green salad which they didn't have on the menu and despite seeming to accommodate his request when he ordered, still gave him the Amalfi salad. He enjoyed it although it wasn't his 1st choice. I had the beet, goat cheese and walnut salad and other than wanting more beets or at least bigger beet pieces and less cheese it was quite tasty. The dressing was a light vinaigrette which they served on the side. The pizza was another story. My husband likes everything well done and we explained this in detail to our server. Despite this, his pizza wasn't cooked any longer and fell short of the crust being fully cooked in the center. My pizza was cooked to the point of burning the cheese, but still with a crust not fully cooked. I’ve cooked enough to recognize that the temperature of the oven either wasn’t hot enough or the pizza pulled out too soon. The toppings were delicious, but I’d prefer to eat on dough with my hands and not having to slop off the plate with a fork. I must confess I enjoyed it more eaten cold the next morning when I could hold the slice up with my hands. The restaurant did not seem to have sufficient servers for the number of tables. Our server was cordial, and others assisted with tasks, but it took away from the experience. We waited several minutes to have someone bring us water and take our order, nearly deciding to leave before someone showed.

Terrific Pizza

By Miotoni |

One of those really good upscale Italian pizza restaurants without the upscale price. We had some great pizzas and the waitress was wonderful.

Lackluster food and service

By 63Kathyd |

Have been before and it was good. This time it was lackluster. The lobster ravioli barely had any lobster, the veal piccata was tough and flavorless. The broccolini with the piccata was barely cooked and had no flavor. Our waitress was Arkita who barely spoke a word to us, dropped the bill on our table before we even received our dessert without a word. Yes, it was very busy but that doesn’t excuse bland food and subpar staff.

Just Like Napoli

By jlpgolfer |

Great Italian restaurant in downtown Atlanta Not much to look at from outside but do not let that fool you The inside is just like an Italian resturant in Italy The fire brick oven pizza can be compared to restaurants in Napoli and the brick walls and fountain as you enter is very much like Rome. Prices here are reasonable and service was outstanding One draw back for elderly is it is upstairs and you have to go up a long stairway

Wanted to love it…

By AZexplores |

In town for a quick couples date night and chose Amalfi based on reviews. Did not realize hubby made reservation at downtown and not Buckhead. Upon entry we noticed a cigar smell which is not a bad thing… had a reservation and table was ready within a minute or two. We were seated at one of the tables that is open to the entry courtyard and continued to notice the smoky smell. Our calamari appetizer was very good. As we continued to sit my nose stopped up and I was turning flush as this happens when around a lot of smoke - we figured maybe it’s due to the open oven. Had veal parmigiana and a pizza. The pizza was ok - not what we expected based on reviews that rave over it - the bacon jam made the bottom of the pizza too soggy to even pick up and mostly what was tasted was the char on the bottom. The veal parm portion with spaghetti was huge but overall bland. As we were leaving we noticed the cigar bar door just below where our table was and it totally made sense that the cigar smoke was being pulled in where we sat. I did not realize just how bad it was till we got to the hotel and our clothes reaked like we had been at the actual bar and I had to shower to get the smell out of my hair. Just a word of warning to not sit in the table above the cigar bar door. Don’t mind a good cigar but don’t want to smell it while I’m eating.

Not as good as we hoped

By Lisa M |

My husband and I stopped in here for dinner while in town. We didn’t have a reservation but were able to walk in since it was relatively early. We started with the fried gnocchi. It was tasty though not as crispy as I would have expected for being fried. For main entrees, we had chicken Marsala and chicken parmigiana. The Marsala sauce was delicious. The chicken though was very tough. It came with risotto and broccolini. The risotto was very good, but the broccolini was not cooked enough. It was very hard to cut. The chicken parm came on a bed of spaghetti. It was a very large portion, but there just wasn’t much taste to it. We really wanted to enjoy this meal. The ambiance and service were both great, but the food just wasn’t what we hoped.

Excellent Pizzas and Service

By Travel7YYZ |

We were a (very) large group, and had several tables along a long row, eating family-style. The servers were amazingly attentive; no mean feat for such a large group. All the pizzas were excellent, with some nice char at the edges of the crust. Pasta was good as well. And a decent selection of wines. You can’t go wrong here.

Enjoyable lunch

By Benamard |

We were a party of 5 for a late lunch. Our server Camal was great, attentive and made good conversation. We had some appetizers - fried zucchini flowers, arancini and the charcuterie board. All were well received by their respective diners. For mains we had the bolognese pasta, which was perfectly done and seasoned. We also had the Calzone which was devoured by our daughter and the little one had TWO courses of the Ravioli, he liked it that much! For dessert we had the chocolate bomb (excellent) and the lemon cheese cake (a little disappointing). Parking is available right next to the restaurant.

Birthday Pizza

By William H |

My wife and I for my birthday popped in for a yummy meat lovers pizza. Wood ovens, friendly, professional service, lovely building and clean. And I got free tiramisu!

A complete disappointment!

By Felix T. |

I went to the restaurant with 2 friends on a Saturday night. We already wanted to go to the restaurant on the night before, but they were full, so we booked a table for the next evening. I have to admit that this was the worst choice of our holidays in the states. The ambience was really nice and also the first impression, when we got seated by the host was perfect. The series of mishaps began with our server. Although she was friendly, she seemed completly overwhelmed. First of all, my friend needed to help her with our order, because she couldn't properly read what was on the tablet. Our appetizers already arrived 5 minutes later and she wanted to serve the main dish already 2 minutes later. Maybe this is common in the USA, I don't know, we politely asked her to return, when we would have finished our appetizers. When the main dishes arrived, my pizza was completly cold and had to be returned to the kitchen. My friend asked for some bread, which arrived, when he finished his dish. For consequence, he declined the bread, because it was meant to be eaten with his pasta dish. I haven't even finished my new pizza, when she already came back with a box, although I didn't asked for it. We politely asked to remove the box again. Finally, while we were settling the bill, another waiter came again with the portion of bread. Our server explained us that she asked him to come back with the bread, because she didn't believe him that we declined the bread. I haven't experienced such a bad experience for a very long time. It was really a pity, because the food was quite nice actually! However, this poor service spoiled my evening.

Simply the Best

By JLaRue |

Amalfi was absolutely amazing! My family and I will be back! Everyone was very attentive and you could tell that they work as a team. We made reservations before our arrival. Our table was ready upon arrival. Our food was served quickly and it was delicious. Serena was our server. Serena was nice, patient, engaging and prompt. We ordered the kids pepperoni pizza, carne pizza and Rigatoni di Napoli. We read reviews before we made the reservation and was unsure if we wanted to eat at this restaurant. We are soo happy that we kept Our reservation.

One and done

By YBtravel |

Not a place I will return. While the employees were not rude, they were lackluster. They did not seem to be excited to be there except a few were happy to converse with one another. We were seated at a table at the base of the raised kitchen where the pizza was being made. The table was covered with black specks. The specks were on the plates, utensils, napkins and table covering. Pointed it out to the staff. Told it was probably from the kitchen pizza firing. No offer to change anything. We asked to move. Went to a cleaner table. The other table in question was never addressed. Looking up at the pizza making area, I noted small gnats flying around the open bowls housing the pizza toppings being used to make pizzas. We should have left then but I told myself to stop being so critical. We ordered two pizzas and one kid pizza. The kids pizza came with a side. The side was oranges. The small bowl of mandarin oranges was placed perilously on the side of the pizza plate. Of course it turned over on our table. There was no assistance with the spill. Just napkins brought to the table and placed next to the spill. There was no replacement or offer to replace the oranges with or without charge. We found the dough to be very bland and soggy in the middle of the pizza. You could not pick up a slice of this pizza and eat it. Way too soft and mushy in the center. We did not order the speciality dough with mozzarella in the crust. We have been to Italy and this is far short of Italian pizza. Not at all an enjoyable meal.

Touristy and food and service just not very good

By WineSnob7 |

I admit, we had a large party and a fairy late reservation, but...... we had salads (not tasty) pizza (just plain not very good) and some of our order never made it to the table. Wine selection was just okay. I simply was not impressed!

Great pasta and pizza

By Jeannette J |

Had an amazing Marsala chicken pasta and my colleagues’s pizza was excellent as well, relaxed place with decent service

Downtown Atlanta Italian - informal and fun

By RPI-hockey-fan |

This is an Italian restaurant very close to the Peachtree Center in Atlanta- very close to the Peachtree Marta stop. You go down a very well marked former alley that has been covered and painted, up steps to the restaurant. It is fairly large, noisy (fun noisy) and informal. We had reservations and were seated quickly, otherwise there was a wait at dinner time. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. The menu is fairly typical for an Italian restaurant. I had shrimp with pasta, spinach and basil in white wine sauce and it was very good, my wife had salmon also very good. Many people, especially young people were going for the pizza. Several nights later, after returning to hotel from sporting event, we got a pizza to go and it was excellent- perfect crust and sauce, about 10-12 inches in diameter. This restaurant serves good food in an informal setting with friendly staff.

Okay food, awful service

By cshgth |

The food was okay but overpriced for what it was. The real lowlight was the service. We were a party of 12 and the waiter kept on coming to the table calling out the dishes because he had no idea who had ordered what. I guess we could have overlooked that although this is not standard for a restaurant of this price class. But then he would bring dishes we had not ordered and when we said that they were not for our table, he rolled his eyes at us and grunted. Not okay! As expected in this chaos, three items that we had either never ordered or that had been ordered but had never been brought out ended up on the bill and we had to ask management to take them off. Since this was a business lunch, the whole thing was very embarrassing. We can say with certainty that we will NOT return.

Okay. Not an entirely fair test, however.

By jxx9595 |

I was here for a dinner with about 15 people, all seated at one long table in the main room. It was very noisy generally, and we could barely hear the person across the table. Group dinners can be difficult in a variety of ways, and that's why I identified this review as not entirely fair. Pizza was pretty good, probably worth four stars on its own. Pasta was just okay, as was a salad. Same for risotto. You will probably do better if you stick to the pizza. Service was excellent. But the overall experience, despite the decent pizza, was just worth three stars. I don't know that I would recommend this place for a business dinner, but you may do better here with a smaller group and a different reason for eating here.

Service and food was not good

By Wanderlust3483 |

Came in for dinner and was immediately met with two hostesses who looked at us, did not greet us and finished their conversation before taking us to a table. The server was pretty good. The food was not good- the lobster ravioli is a tiny portion, the pizza was some of the worst I've had. The only thing good were the zucchini flowers. The atmosphere is also super weird- clearly not Italian and a bunch of televisions with the news and sports on is what you have to look at. I would definitely go elsewhere.

Excellent casual pizza with an upscale feel

By Expert Traveler |

I was pleasantly surprised. We were in the mood for fine dining and stopped in here for some pizza. It was excellent and hit the spot. The burrata cheese salad was incredible. I loved it. The pizza was also very tasty. Our servers were excellent and it was an overall great experience.

The food was very good...

By Lilbit |

once they got the order right. A simple salad took 25 minutes though due to an error on their part. The restaurant was practically empty since we were there early and it appears that they were still busy with prep and setting up their stations. The servers were friendly, but distracted and apparently unfamiliar with the wine list. Questions were met with a shrug basically. The food was very good and freshly prepared. The atmosphere was relaxed and attractive. Dress is casual. The restaurant would be good for date night, friends or families.

3 pizzas and a Calzone

By anderson213 |

Cool entry way--sets the tone for a good meal. Appetizer: New Zealand mussels--delicious! Our favorite of the three pizzas was the shrimp. Cosmospolitan feel with very good service. Pretty good wine list. Food came out quicker than expected, even when the restuarant was half-filled during lunch time. Only draw back was that parking is not validated. But, on the plus side of that, because lunch was quick, the parking fee was minimal.

Phenomenal Birthday dinner..

By Wil S |

Great restaurant in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. Shelby, our server, was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and made some amazing cocktails. Food was above perfect.....

Good atmos

By Louise B |

Great atmos in this place, attentive helpful staff. Great menu, tried the plantain which was good and the corn which was so-so, but flavourless. Pork was huge but lacking in vegetables, the peaches it came with were odd tasting. Nice pudding. Generally I would say worth a try

Good pizza downtown

By Lindsay M |

We ate dinner here on our last trip to Atlanta because it was a short walk from our hotel. The atmosphere was really nice. I had the margherita pizza 'Carnevale' style. It was pretty good. I can't really complain. It's not the best pizza I've ever had, but it was tasty and I liked the stuffed crust aspect of it. If you like pizza and are in the downtown area, you may want to check this place out.

Amazing Pizza, Atmosphere, and Italian Wine List

By Martin H |

I loved Amalfi so much on my recent convention stay in downtown Atlanta that I actually ate their twice. I tried to go for a third visit, but they were closed for a private party that had booked the entire place. The pizza is as good as what I got my last trip to Italy. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The Amalfi pizza is my favorite. The tiramisu is to die for. And the Brunello they stock on the wine list is absolutely amazing as well. I highly recommend this place and I wish that I live closer so that I could eat there once a week!

Enjoyed lunch so much that we returned for supper

By Ray1962 |

Were stuck in Atlanta due to winter storm. This place was close to our hotel so we walked there and had lunch. Love the ambience. Good service and good food. We walked back again for supper.

Food was good, service was not!

By Excursion402108 |

Although we had booked a table we still had to wait for 20 minutes for it to be ready. The staff at the front desk were irritated when we complained! The service was not good but the food was great!

Fantastic experience - Great for groups!

By Epl222 |

I loved this place so much I went back to get takeout the next night. I had organized a team dinner here for a conference the first night. The food was delicious with good quality ingredients (don't miss: carnivale pizza, calamari, and the avocado / beet / arugula salad - all EXCELLENT!!!!), the prices were totally reasonable, and the space is much prettier than the pictures online. It's a huge room with a high ceiling - sort of industrial, but the 'rustic digs' as described on Google is off the mark. The service was fantastic, and our server could not have been more charming - I wish I had her name so I could give her credit (she's lovely and from Chicago, if you're reading, management - she's a total gem!!!) Anyways, I'd highly recommend this place and would go back in a minute!

AMAZING PIZZA!!

By Oldfashioned_alex |

This was my first time here and I was in Atlanta visiting for the weekend. Pizza is my favorite food and I especially love Italian style pizza. From the moment I walked in I LOVED it! There was classic Italian music playing just outside the entrance, the walkway up to the restaurant was decorated like a cute European alleyway with brick and string lights. It was a Saturday night, there weren't too many people and tables were pretty spread out. The service was great and very friendly. I ordered the margarita Carnevale style with ricotta stuffed crust, OH MY GOD!! One of the best pizza's I've ever had. This will be somewhere I always come back to when I'm in Atlanta. I really want to try their risotto next time. Highly highly recommend for a nice, quiet Italian meal! There was even TVs playing sports games for my husband to enjoy haha I'm sure some people will appreciate that.

Cool atmosphere and great pizza!

By Nonnieof7 |

We ate a very early dinner here, and it was almost empty. The wood-fired oven pizza was delish! We shared an appetizer and small pizza, and it was plenty!

Will definitely be returning

By happycamper8411 |

Soooo good. We didn’t plan on coming here but was downtown for dragon con, saw a pizza place and said ‘hey let’s try it!’ So glad we did. It was fresh and delicious. The price was good too considering you would spend $6 on a mediocre slice of pizza at some other places (looking at you papa J). Will definitely be back next year when we come to town for con.

Delicious and fresh ingredients

By Happy King |

Delicious pizza & pasta with fresh ingredients and served deliciously hot. Enough veg choices. But vegan not many. Loved the penne pasta on the menu!

All about pizza !

By Bellatsch |

Pizza delicious : Light, fresh and tasteful . Too much garlic in the Bruschetta but the tomato was fresh. Service was slow and they were not even busy . I would go back again for the pizza! Very good and high quality.

Excellent burrata and pizza!

By Ricardo F |

We decide to stop by for lunch on a Saturday. We both had a a Burrata salad which was excellent, followed by a Margherita pizza with Moretti beer.Delicious dough and of course the magic of the Italian brick oven. Will be back!

Great spaghetti Great service. Pizza was delicious and nice wine selection. Parking validation. Kids treated good. Highly recommended

Very Good!!

By jleich |

Group of friends in town for business. We had large salad to share, pizza and meatballs. All were very good, the waiter was more than helpful in advising us. The tossed crust was thin and crispy, perfection!!!

Upstairs from street

By Winnie |

Large open space and high ceilings with a view of the kitchen is inviting. Decent wine and beer selection is available. The meatballs appetizer has a great sauce and salads were good. The pizza is very good the crust perfect. Beware the pepperoni has a bite. Lobster ravioli was good not great. Needed more sauce and fresh grated cheese table side would have been nice. Friendly waiter

Really Good Pizza!

By Taraks Travels |

Stopped in for dinner with my Wife and teen daughter while in ATL for the weekend. Our server, Isabel was fantastic! I had spaghetti/meatballs, Wife had Chicken Parm and my daughter had peperoni pizza. All 3 entrees were solid! The pizza was really good out of the brick oven and the crust was some of the best I have had. The atmosphere was open concept and we enjoyed our meal and chatting with our server getting to know her story a bit.

This place is top tier.

By Jade |

This was by far one of the absolute best Italian restaurants I’ve EVER eaten at. I worked at a delicious Italian restaurant for years too and it doesn’t even compare. My husband and I both got the lasagne calzone, our son got the white pizza. For me, I think it was the ricotta cheese inside the calzone, it just tasted so fresh, like it was made in house. Our server Ricky was great too, attentive enough to know when we needed refills, but not overbearing, which was nice. He was very personable as well. I told my husband this place is a must any time we come back to Atlanta, it’s just too good!

Far from authentic Italian restaurant.

By tata1215 |

Restaurant’s atmosphere is nice ; however the food was disappointing. Pizza was undercooked, hardly any mozzarella,. Staff NOT wearing face coverings…. Not even the 4 Chefs/cooks. Super disappointed . Do not recommend.

Awful. Truly awful.

By Nigel B |

I don't know how anyone could give this restaurant a good review...unless mabe they are smokers? The stench of old stale smoke is my over-riding memory of visiti g this restaurant. Maybe if i we hadnt had to wait 5pminutes for our food, we would have gad something else to smell. Akthough two of our party got their meals within 15-20mins...and had finished before spaghetti and meat balls and calamari (hardly tricky items) arrived. Even our clothes smelled of the srale smoke after leaving. Oh, and despite having several beers on the menu, only bottles of Stella were available. A deeply unpleasant experience. Wouldn't go back even if it was free!

Good pizza

By Alfio G |

I had dinner here the other night the service was good staff very friendly and the pizza was good, they had the Italian feel with the music going in the background now the only thing I thought was a let down was, any good Italian pizza place has chilli oil as we as the dry chilli, when I ask for chilli oil didn't know what I was talking about, bit apart from that it was enjoyable.

A tale of 2 pizzas

By Jason F |

I had one of their wood fired pizza. It was a five star pizza on the outside and a 1 star pizza in the middle. The toppings were very tasty and fresh. The outside crust was chewy and crunchy with a slight burnt bottom. Exactly how a pizza should taste. The inner circle, about a diameter of 4-5 inches had a totally soggy bottom. I couldn’t even pick up the pizza without all of the toppings from falling off. I had to fold the pizza Inward in order to eat it. I am quite surprised that a wood fired pizza could be soggy. It could have been a five star experience.

Great quality pizza!

My kiddo loves pizza and normally only visits chain pizza places and gave this place 2 thumbs up! 👍🏻 👍🏻The child’s size pizza was plenty for our 11 year old and allowed her to take a piece home for later. She even ate the crust! My husband and I started off with the stuffed peppadew peppers. We weren’t expecting a cold dish but I thought they were good. I also got the veggie pizza. It was yummy! Our waitress brought us some marinara to dip our crust in. It was delicious! If I were to ever go back, I would elect for the stuffed crust pizza.

Very good

Ordered the bruschetta, very tasty! Ordered the Amalfi pizza. Very different but oh yummy! For dessert we had the cannoli-that was my favorite!!

Dam good pizza!

By Karl G |

Visited on my own, nice friendly place. Would go back. Had the meat lovers pizza. Lovely. Oh and Moretti by the bottle. Perfect.

Awesome!!

This is a great place. Tucked away on the second floor downtown. The staff was wonderful and the pizza was delicious. Will defiantly be back when I get back to Atlanta.

Ambivalent: food good, service not

By Robin G |

Visiting Atlanta, our daughter & her husband wanted us to enjoy our first night out to dinner. The entryway ambiance of a mural of Positano on the Amalfi coast had raised our expectations. Having recently visited other Fam in Amalfi, this seemed an inspired choice. NOT... A shrimp pasta dish & 3 pizzas were ordered. The pasta was served 15 min earlier than two of three pizzas and the 3rd pizza was served since the server thought a calzone had been ordered. Several servers tried to serve that same calzone 3-4 times. Finally someone figured out a 3rd pizza had been ordered (not a calzone), but by then my husband had finished my pasta -which had been tasty as were the two pizzas. (Luckily the pasta serving was a good size). So we cancelled the 3rd pizza... This restaurant has great possibilities but lacks structure and organization. We would like to return when the front of the house is managed as well as the kitchen is managed.

Evening pizza date

By Kvacay |

Stopped in for an evening pizza date and had a great meal. They seated us near the TVs because we wanted to watch the ballgame. Nice booths with a romantic vibe. We had pizza and beer and everything was great

Best Italian we have ever had

By Ontsarah |

We we’re on our way to the red doors next door and there’s a huge line so we just kind of stumbled into this place but what a gem! Authentic, home-cooked meal Italian food that was delicious! My husband had the pizza which was cooked in the imported Italian wood ovens, ingredients are imported and you can tell and taste the difference. I had the spaghetti and meatballs, best meatball ever! The Caesar salad was fantastic and the house red wine delicious. The ambiance of this place reminds you of being in Italy and I think we may have to fly from Toronto just to come back for dinner sometime it was that good!

Total disappointment

By zmans169 |

I took my wife here while on a business trip. Reviews led me to believe it would be a good experience. Quite the opposite. Any ambiance the location had was ruined by them playing Spanish dance music The waiter was inattentive. Fortunately the rest of the staff picked up him slack. The food was average. I would not go back or recommend this location.

Must visit

By Joe Walden |

While in Atlanta we discovered a restaurant that really understands the concept of customer service. This restaurant is so good that we went three times in the five days we were in Atlanta. The servers were great, the manager was engaged and the food was simply amazing. If you are in downtown Atlanta, this is a must visit restaurant.

Not NY Pizza

By Joseph D |

It’s always risky trying to find good pizza, but I decided to give Amalfi a try. I had the Corn Dusted Fried Calamari appetizer which was an interesting variation of the original style. The calamari were on the small side and the marinara sauce was too acidic. For dinner I had a Margherita Pizza with Italian Sausage. It was just ok, but a great pizza. It was less about the style of cooking and more about the ingredients. The cheese and sausage were just not a high quality and the sauce was ok.

A ‘don’t miss’ when in Atlanta

By Jack K |

Restaurant has great atmosphere, good location and reservations were on time. Food is superb, from scratch and no excellent. The hand crafted San Marzano tomato sauces are some of the best we’ve had. Our go to restaurant when in Atlanta.

Fast service, non greasy pizza

By matthewsharris |

Great place to get pizza after work. Service was good, drink selection was good, and the pizza was not greasy.

Brick oven fired pizza & best chicken tenders believe it or not!

By We❤️2Travel |

Wow! We tucked into this cute restaurant in Atlanta! The brick oven pizza is fantastic! We ordered a Margharita and it was classic Italian pizza!! Our 10 year old grandson ordered chicken tenders and believe it or not, they were incredible!!!! Beautifully fresh battered chicken tenders fried to light and crispy perfection. Imagine a classic English fish & chips batter on a piece of chicken! If you’re in downtown Atlanta near World of Coke or Georgia Aquarium and looking for a place to eat- stop by and enjoy the ambiance of this amazing little gem!!

Disappointing

By 235dale |

Never been here and decided to have a business dinner here. Bad choice. The service was horrible! We had 6 people and the food came out at different times. One person just got his food as we were finishing our food, which was cold by now because we waited to him to be served. On top of that--the food wasn't very good. I had the pizza and was really disappointed.

Excellent Experience

A perfect time that sent me back to Napoli. The pizza was delicious and the service was fantastic. Jennifer was a great bartender and I will be coming back to see her.

Relaxing meal and good food

By Kim B |

We went to Amalfi Pizza for dinner when we were in Atlanta for a conference. Relaxing atmosphere and wonderful food.

Mylita offers superior service!

By Roadrunner717 |

Freindly professional service all the while serving a high volume of guests. Mylita should be acknowledged for juggling so many position with grace and ease. She was provided 5 star service to my table.

Authentic Italian Food

By Momontherun04 |

What a wonderful restaurant! Authentic Italian Food! Delicious sauce just like my Nonna (Grandma) makes! Wood oven pizzas made with the freshest ingredients! You must eat here if you are ever in the city!

The best place I could have chosen to eat with my family!

By Xhie D |

Its so good, that I am writing that review before even leaving the place. (Social distancing is taken very serious here). My husband and I got married in Amalfi so of course I came because of the name... but the ambience, the food... and I meant everything is pure Italy! My 20 month old loved the food! The gelato is to die for and the service is awesome too!

Italy in the centre of Atlanta: excellent taste and welcoming Mood

By Juan Filipe |

What a grateful surprise! Amalfi offers an authentic Italian experience in the heart of Atlanta. The Mood is charming and welcoming. The pasta is fresh and well prepared, and the pizzas in the wooden oven have light pasta and crispy edge. I ordered Pasta al Gamberi and it was simply perfect, with well-prepared shrimp, tasty sauce and pasta in the right spot. The service is attentive and efficient, and the wine list has great options. Great choice for those seeking Italian taste and comfort in Atlanta.

Best pizza downtown

By Amanda C |

My husband and I love pizza- we stopped in here and our weekend was complete! This place has the best pizza, and an even better atmosphere. We will be back for sure!

NOPE! SORRY, BUT THESE ARE THE FACTS!

By ChrisTina |

Sorry folks, can't recommend this restaurant. Portions very small for the $$. On a scale of 1-10, would have to rate it a 2 at best. We arrived to a busy restaurant and were greeted very graciously. We were told there was a 40 minute wait, so we decided to place a to-go order. We ordered three appetizers - the zucchini flowers, calamari and meatballs - and a caprese salad. There were 4 small zucchini pieces that were 90% batter and 10% mozzarella and zucchini ($16). There were 3 small (and I mean REALLY small) meatballs that tasted more like bread than meat ($13). And the caprese salad...where do I begin...whatta joke! there were literally 3 small, thin tomato slices with 3 even smaller pieces of mozzarella. Oh yeah, and one grape tomato sliced in half ($14). The calamari ($15) was pretty good. It was the only thing we felt was half-way worth the $$

Pizza to go

By jlcarter1975 |

We ordered a pizza to go to enjoy back in the hotel room. For the price, the pizza did not contain too many toppings. The crust was okay, but nothing memorable. I would check out a different pizza place next time.

Good food

By SariSpirit |

Nice restaurant with good food, we had pasta and pizza, and all of us were pretty satisfied with the food. We got our portions pretty quickly and the prices were reasonable. If I ever visit Atlanta again, I consider eating there again.

Delicious Pizza and fabulous extras

By vschickie |

Amalfi has a lovely dining ambiance. We love the menu there. Don't forget to try your pizza "carnivale" style (they stuff the crust with ricotta). Yummy! My only wish is that they would revamp the wine list and expand the cocktail list. The wine list is pretty basic unless you buy a bottle. Considering Amalfi is right over the Red Phone Booth, they could easily add some craft cocktails to their menu (aka: the Negroni, French 75, or better yet mix some new ones! etc).

Birthday dinner while traveling

By smcgilvray |

Food was very average. Risotto was very pasty. Meatballs were blah. Service was great though. Pizza was good. Pretty decent wine list.

Pizza

By Walter N |

Stopped in and had a wonderful experience! Had heard about this place from a colleague, so we gave it a try. WOW!! Started with the burrata beet salad and had the best pizza that we ever had in Atlanta. If you want authentic pizza, with great service at a fair price, be sure and try this place. You wont be disappointed

Good pizza

By rodriguezs807 |

We enjoyed the pizza and garlic bread. Decent prices and friendly service. My husband also said the calamari was good.

Good auuthentic Italian food

By DarrenMilne |

This place is good for a casual Italian feed. The food was good and the service was fine. It isn't upmarket, but it is clean and good for families, and also well priced.

Anniversary Dinner

By Jay M |

Took the wife out for our Anniversary and this place was amazing. We have eaten at a lot of Italian restaurants, and this is by far our favorite.

Expected Better

By Luther1895 |

Visited a couple evenings ago. To start with, they were out of a couple beer offerings. The “meat lovers” pizza had me asking “where’s the meat” because there wasn’t much. I’ve had much better pizza for less money.

By Hitesh Khatri |

I recently had dinner here with a group of friends, and overall, it was an enjoyable evening with just a few hiccups. We ran into a minor issue with our reservation when the receptionist mistakenly believed she had already seated us. After clarifying the mix-up, she quickly resolved it, but the initial confusion was a bit frustrating. Once seated, we were placed at a round table for four, which felt quite cramped and not very comfortable. If you're planning to dine here, I’d recommend requesting a standard rectangular table for a more relaxed experience. As for the food—it was excellent. I started with the peppadews appetizer, which was delicious, and followed it with the Pasta con Gamberi, which was rich in flavor and very satisfying. They also offer a solid wine selection. I went with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, and it paired perfectly with the meal. Despite the seating issue, the quality of the food and wine stood out. I’d definitely recommend this place—just make sure to request a more spacious table when booking.

Meh

By BackPacker |

It was crowded so you have to cut them some slack on seating but we did have reservations and it seems like those without them got seated before us for some reason. So we ended up waiting an extra 30 minutes or so. Our server was beyond sweet and nice but the food was not. I thought it was weird that an Italian restaurant didn’t offer bread. I’ve never been to one that didn’t. I had the chicken parm - it was okay. Not bad but also not good - meh. I would eat it again if I was hungry but wouldn’t go out of my way to have it again. The calamari appetizer was also very middle of the road. Granted, I’m used to very good and very authentic Italian food where I’m from and this place just fails to match up well with that. Their pizza looked good - so that might be worth a try.

Authentic great value

By jlogozzo |

In 6 days during our stay in Atlanta we dined here twice. Pizza was great! Great value for what you get. The ambiance was lovely felt like you were in Italy.

Best Pizza on the Planet

By JasonJessica D |

Seriously. We accidentally stumbled on this place simply because of its location and our craving for carbs. If we every get back to Atlanta, this place will be number one on the list of places to visit. When you enter the restaurant, there is a cute little welcoming area that has the feel of a European garden. There is a large staircase leading up to the host/hostess. The interior of the restaurant feels woodsy. The booths afforded enough privacy for our family to talk without overhearing other groups. But the real reason to come here is the pizza. I had a ricotta-stuffed crust pizza, and it was awesome! I really can't explain how good it was. It is a thin crust pizza due to wood-firing, and the crust is pinched up around the ricotta, making the pizza easy to hold and leaving the awesomeness of the ricotta-stuffed crust for last. This will literally be stop number one next time we get to Atlanta.

Nice venue and service, food average

By Nimitta |

Half a dozen of us ate here on our first night in Atlanta, venue was nice and the service was good. I found my mozarella dish to be pretty average, and the cheese itself would have been quite bland were it not for the sauces etc.
