Absolutely fantastic... both the food and the service. My colleague and I entertained some clients here in early March 2019. We were seated outside, but found very shortly after sitting that it was crazy windy and was actually drawing away from the experience. We mentioned it to staff and we were promptly reseated on the opposite side of the outdoor patio, where there was more of a wind shelter. It was a perfect location. We still had a great view of the bay, and the seating was comfortable. Our food was absolutely wonderful and I would highly suggest this restaurant for a romantic night for two, or for a business dinner when you want to treat your guests well.

I do not know where to start with this place, I'm beyond disappointed in the experience that was provided by their staff who is rude, ill communicated and just overall unprofessional. The service was fine but they are SCAMMERS! They overcharged my card for over $500 without previous authorization and when I requested to speak to a manager they send some poorly educated female to call me and basically attack me in regards to me disputing the fact that they charged my card without previous authorization and for the wrong amount. If I could leave the place 0 stars I would but I will be pursuing a reimbursement of funds along with making sure that ANYONE that is THINKING about visiting this place DOESN'T make the mistake of doing so and if you do please pay in cash. I am now in the middle of a dispute with them and my card frozen because they decided to charge it and didn't even call me to let me know why or what happened. If the manager cannot get in touch with me and resolve this Without SENDING another one of their minions to try and put the fire out the next review will not be as friendly. Until Nicole or a MANAGER calls and resolves this MY REVIEWS ARE STAYING UP and I will definitely be a headache I paid money to make sure my man could have an amazing birthday. What we are not going to do is try to scam a client and give them no previous notice of a new charge and ask for permission.

This is my probably 20th time at Amara at Paraiso, but today was enough! Terrible service at the bar! This happens every time I come. Bad manners, aggressive bartenders, zero hospitality skills, and incorrect checks. Imagine, there was nobody sitting at the bar and it was not a busy lunch time crowd. It was just me and my friends and the Owner Chef Michael sitting just a a few tables away from us. Crazy,,,,Crazy,,,, !!!!!

We recommend you get a reservation; we were there on a Saturday night and the place was full. Service was quick and good. The food was really good. We had the whole fish to share which was one of the best dishes in all our vacation. We added the cauliflower which was also very good and the seafood chorizo which was unique and delicious. Will definitely come back my next time in Miami.

will definitely come back to try more stuff because I loved everything we had! The bay views were amazing and their menu options are all so different and delicious!

We had a party of 8 for a Birthday Celebration. Some of us got there before the rest of the party and gather at the bar. Cusqueña Beers and Amazonia Cocktails to start. Both very good, The bartender very nice. We were seated and Sergei was our waiter. Appetizers: Chorizo, Fish Dip, Yucas, Cauliflower. All tasty and delicious. The Sommelier came and we pick our wine El Enemigo, Bonarda from Mendoza Argentina. Smooth drinking red wine. Then 45 minutes went by and the food was not arriving. My cousin’s dinner came: Cauliflower & Green Salad, but not ours. He finished eating and we were still waiting for our food: Mixed Parrillada, 24oz Rib Eye, 12oz NY Strip, Green Rice(Crispy Rice with Veggies pot) After complaining, they told us the kitchen was having some issues. Finally, some time later the food arrived. The food was tasty, well seasoned the meats. We enjoyed it. They gave us Coffee & Dessert on the House. The Desserts were Flan, Corn Pancake with Fruits, and a Merengue Bomb that we shared. They weee ok. Coffee -Decaf Americano, Espresso, Green Tea Then came the icing on the cake. The Valet Parking lost the Audi’ s car key of my nephew. We have to get an Uber for him to get home, retrieve the second key, and then come back to retrieve the car.

Yes its a cool spin with the eggs benedict and the bacon atop with its appealing presentation but everything on that menu is just as compelling! We had the Choripan, a dozen oysters, eggs benedict (ofcoarse) plus the Short Rib Hash and it was deelish! Treat yourself and your family or just a loved one to this beautiful restaurant/lounge right on biscayne bay overlooking the McArthur causeway. I went with a party of 6 and my 7 month old for a Sunday Brunch. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and suprisingly they threw in the desert. We absolutely appreciated that! Very pricy but well worth it. We also had the Rose and a carafe of freshly squeezed Oj. Valet was available.

This really wasn't what we hoped for and overall ended up being a disappointment. The food is very expensive and there is nothing noteworthy to say about it at all. The menu is all over the place and there is no cohesion from course to course. You can easily get Empanadas as good as these almost anywhere. We ate outside and there were airplanes flying overhead every 4 minutes. We elected to go somewhere else for dessert so all we had were empanada appetizers, seafood entrees and a bottle of wine. Everything was 'meh'. Sorry to have to share such a poor review. I rarely find something overall so disappointing.

I've been to Amara, chef Michael Schwartz's new digs in Miami, twice. My first experience in December was a delight. Lovely waterfront ambiance, a menu typical of the chef's, and a very good server table side. A magical Miami evening. My recent visit, however, was quite a different story. We had an early dinner reservation and were informed that the bar was open all day. That did not turn out to be the case. We arrived early, the restaurant hadnt opened and so we sat on the terrace until our table would be available. We requested drinks and were told that the bar was closed due to an employee pre-dinner huddle. I spoke with the manager after waiting 25 minutes, and he agreed to send us a server for drinks. During our meal our server forgot several of our appetizers and so we had to remind her. After an interminable wait, the appetizers appeared. Throughout the evening our waitress was less than attentive, and the service in general (as well as the hostesses) seemed indifferent, clueless. So while the menu and kitchen live up to Michael's caliber, the service is really subpar, and for a restaurant of this category it's borderline mediocre. Amara deserves better and I hope that in the next few months it manages to get its act together.

This is one of my favorite places to visit/eat in Miami. The location is great and the food is top quality. The service this visit was the best I have ever had. We had a great table with a beautiful view of the water. The empanadas were crispy and light and the filling was so good. The arroz on pescado was one of the best I've had.

We had lunch here on a Saturday after seeing this place on a number of restaurant lists. The view is incredible so sitting on the patio is a must. We ordered some rosé and sugarcane juice (amazing). We started with the smoked fish dip and both types of empanadas, and everything was great. My boyfriend had the pork belly sandwich, which was huge and delicious, and I had the taco and tostone special. It was only $12 so pretty small, but really filling after the appetizers, and tasted amazing. The food here is Latin fusion and definitely elevated but still accessible. You could easily spend a couple of hours here sitting on the patio drinking, people watching and enjoying the great view of the water/bridge.

Unfortunately I have to give them 1 star because what happened to me was terrible. I was celebrating my friend's Bday who came overseas for the 1st time after the pandemic so it was a lot to catch up and we even joke about it with the server and let her know we will be seating for while. After 2 hours of non stop consuming between expensive bottles of wines and lots of food the manager told us that we have to move because they needed to seat another party in our 2 ppl table...even though we were eating at the moment with food in our mouth and we were waiting for more to arrived not even mention that we were in the middle of our 3 bottle of wine and has another one being chilled at the bar...ARE YOU KIDDING ME ??? At that point the bill was around $300 not even counting what was going to come so it was not one of those tables that were not consuming...so why nobody never told us know that we only have 2 hours to stay ?? This is something that you should mentioned right away. That was disrespectful, embarrassing to stand up with food on your mouth...OMG it was so rude. I am sure if Michael Schwartz knows this...that manager would be fired in a second. Would never go back to that place !!!

If you’re looking for a place with a beautiful backdrop, this is the place to be. The food and drinks are good, but service very poor. That’s the only downfall that ruined out entire dinner.

One of the few places right on the waterfront. Plenty of outside tables, and gas heaters for the chilly evenings. Contemporary design with open kitchen en large bar scene. Dishes to share with excellent food.

Had apps and a couple drinks during a happy hour. Loved the ambiance and the food and drinks were delicious. Service by the water could be a little quicker.

What a spectacular venue for a Sunday brunch. The food simple and super tasty. Really liked the arroz chaufa and the soft scrambled eggs w jerk mushroom tacos. To finish it on a sweet note try the coconut layer cake. Great coffee selection.

The staff is simply the best - welcoming and discreet. The restaurant itself is delightful - open and airy with a splendid view of the bay in the rain. If you arrive before 7:30 weeknights you can enjoy the happy hour treats of half priced oysters and wines (delicious French whites and Napa cabernet) by the glass. Our favorite starters are chorizo verde with tomatillo salsa, corn salad, lamb ribs. The fejoada is delicious - especially accompanied with baby carrots, calabaza. Delicious! We've visited often and never had any room for dessert!

Perfect For a Pandemic. Seriously, we have not dined at a restaurant in 2 months. At Amara all of the dining is outside, all of the tables are well separated, the staff is careful and masked at all times. The customers were respectful as well and masked until seated. The setting is of course, exquisite. Bayside with a lovely view and at dusk the lights go on in the distant Miami Beach. There is a new menu and I like it better then the old onE. The salad is a holdover and generous enough to be split. We shared the mushroom tacos and they were delicious. The 2 lb grilled snapper was cooked expertly and the light sauce and the side sauces really brought out the flavor to make it a truly memorable feast accompanied by grilled asparagus. The wait staff is also quite competent. What we feared would be a fraught experience turned out to be a delicious, romantic celebration. We will be back soon.

We came to try the miami spice menu and we don’t regret! We tried almost everything on the menu and simply delicious! Angelica was our server and she was super attentive and friendly! Definitely coming back

We've visited Amaro at Paraiso several times over the past several years. Counter to most restaurants life spans, Amaro continues to up-its'-game and in my opinion, keeps getting better and better! Food - Outstanding Ambience - Wonderful (among Miami's BEST OUTDOOR DINNING) Service - Excellent On this recent visit, we enjoyed: Great cocktails: House Margaritia and House Manhattan (a delightful refreshing summer drink with cherry and lemon flavors) Fish dip with fried tostones - MUST TRY delicious! Grilled Red Chorizos(2) - yum Crab Tostada - very tasty Grilled Swordfish served over blanco beans with vinaigrette - mouthwatering delicious!! Japanese Sweet Potato - a delicious treat (if you've never had) Sitting in the breezy outdoors, under cover, with gorgeous bay water views, Amara is among Miami's finest outdoors dinning restaurants. The food/menu (with regular seasonal changes) has gotten better & better since opening. If you've never been, you owe yourself the special treat of dinner at Amara at Paraiso!!

Terrible experience when you get your food served ice cold!!! It took ~2 hours to get our Pittsburg Ribeye served! This place is overrated and quite mediocre in terms of food excellence!!!

Very nice culinary experience. I enjoyed particularly the cheese puffs. Although it has a very nice outside terrace for sitting right on the water edge, we preferred to sit indoors as it was dusk and bugs had started. Fish was fresh and tasty, the ceviche was delicious, and service impeccable. Would definitely go back.

This is a very nice restaurant with a wonderful view allowing to dress up for the evening. All the staff were attentive, professional and very happy. This is not a cheap restaurant, we were 6 and the bill was just shy of $1000.00 but the food was great. A very nice restaurant for a special occasion, like a family trip. Would recommend you visit when in Miami.

Nice ambiance. Very friendly staff. Food was average, service was up and down. Fantastic service in the first ten minutes, then began to worsen. Poor service for our final half hour. Restaurant has a lot of potential, but i would not go back.

So happy we went straight from the Miami airport to lunch at Amara before going to our hotel. It was a lovely setting sitting right along the water, there was even a dolphin swimming alongside the waterfront just yards away. And such delicious food-best ever tostones with fish dip app, delish ceviche & great wines by the glass. Such a nice way to orient ourselves to Miami-for-grownups.

Miami Spice 2024 - Tried the $45 three course dinner menu and paired it with wine for an additional +$25. The food was good, not exceptional. Service was also good, not exceptional either. You'd go here for the views and vibe definitely. Its a waterfront restaurant with amazing views over the ocean and Miami Beach. There is also indoor seating.

We were a party of six people celebrating Thanksgiving 5 PM. My order was Pork Tomahawk. They brought me two burned ribs without any meat with some horrible pieces of carbon burned pork fat that included aprox. 10 grams of pork not suitable for humans. I think they did not have the product to fulfill the order and to fulfill my order the so-called chef prepared something that was going to waste. I want to clarify that the turky served to the party was amaizing.

Amazing view , the service was terrible . The food was very expensive and without quality . No body said Hi or Goodbye , one of the waitress throw water on the clothes of one of my family and he didn't said sorry. We went during breakfast time ( family of 5 )and we spent more than $300 just on french fries and burgers .

My wife and I has our first visit to Amara at Paraiso last night and it won't be our last. The star of this place is its remarkable vista of Biscayne Bay. It was stunning, even at twilight on the heels of a nasty August Miami thunderstorm. We must come back and try Amara for brunch on a sunny afternoon. We ordered from the Miami Spice menu and, as is our practice with first time visits, added several supplements to get a broader exposure to the kitchen's abilities. We started off with some nicely-prepared caipirinhas from the bar and some bar snacky Crispy Hominy with verde spice & lime (the hominy ($7 supplement) is a Michael Schwartz signature item also found at Michael's Genuine Food & Drink). We both had or shared the following Miami Spice items: the Peach Salad with serrano ham, agave peanuts, green basil and goat cheese (light and refreshing); and Grilled Pork Chop with jasmine green rice, salsa criolla and salsa guasacasa (she liked the guasacasa - me not so much - but the chop and rice were very good). We really enjoyed the Grilled Atlantic Shrimp with spicy fresno chile paste, shaved cabbage & lime ($24 supplement) and liked the Amara Chorizo (1 red chorizo and 1 chorizo verde with chimichurri, green tomatillo salsa and tumeric mingnonette ($8 supplement). We took our Miami Spice desserts home and have yet to try the Arroz Con Leche with panela, mango preserves, macadamia nut and coconut and the Chocolate Flan with cashew, dulce de leche, cocoa rib & soft cream. Our server Sarah was warm and attentive without being intrusive. I would make just one note of caution: there are several steps at the front entrance that may present some difficulty if one of your guests has a mobility issue.

This is the 3rd or 4th time I went. To be honest, I never ate well. The place is very nice, beautiful views, the sitting area outside, all really cool. But I guess one also goes to restaurants to EAT and therein lies the problem. There at not many options. Most dishes are too spicy for the regular client. Plus, it´s quite expensive for what is offers. I have been to other Michael Schwartz´s restaurant and all A LOT better in all of them, even Harry´s Pizza. I think the problem with Amara is that it is too pretentious. Service was terrible as well (no appetizers, 30 minutes to bring our (warm!!) wine. I tried, hoped they would improve the food, but no! Perhaps the best option is to get a drink overlooking the water. I don´t plan to dine there again.

Outstanding place, with divine food, great service and breathtaking views. Everything you desire for brunch / lunch was there, The food.. wow! So delicious, so well prepared and so well presented. The service fantastic with attention to details and friendliness. The views are stunning, tables are available outside or inside but whichever table you'll take the views are still stunning. This was our second time in a year and it was just as amazing as last time so highly recommend it.

Saturday brunch was wonderful. We ordered the cheese puffs, fish dip and empanada to start then had salads and for two of us that was more than we could eat. Service was superb as is the view. I read reviews that it’s expensive but so are most nice restaurants in Miami so I didn’t find it more than others of same quality. Highly recommend, we will be back next visit to Miami.

We went for girls night and the appetizers were delicious ...our server was attentive and we stayed for longer than most, enjoying the great service, superb food and an inviting view. Me did not order any entrees ....but I am sure that they are equally delish. On our list of fav spots.

Very disappointing birthday dinner at Amara, we moved in next-door a couple months ago and decided to celebrate my birthday and try out the restaurant for the first time. It was just me and my fiancé and we ordered 2 $100 plates, one with assorted seafood and one with assorted meat. We figured that would give us a taste of majority of the items on the menu. First of all the food took forever to arrive because the kitchen was concerned we ordered too much and also we asked for a substitution for the sweet bread on the meat platter and that seems to have thrown the chef off. We were there around 9:30 to 11pm and it wasn’t busy but our server was terrible. He probably had two other tables aside from us and he wasn’t attentive. He did not ask what temperature we would like the meat, he inform us quite a while after we were waiting for our entrees there was some confusion in the kitchen and that’s why it was taking so long. He did bring out complementary cheese yuca bites right before the food arrive to make up for it but he did not check with us after the dishes arrived if everything was ok because I would have told him the steak was too done for our liking and I wanted butter for the seafood. The worst of ALL was that we told him ahead of time, when we first sat down we were residents next door and after the entire meal he reveal that residents get 10% off if you sit upstairs and it’s the same menu! It was also my birthday btw and not even a happy birthday much less dessert. What a shame, I really wish this was worthy since it’s a part of my community. The seafood platter was ok, my favorite were the prawns but the meat platter was tasteless and over cooked. Do not recommend, even if you live in the area.

A very chilled and relaxed brunch by the ocean. The food is extremely good and the service is 5 stars. Ask to be served by Glendys. Best service!

Amara has a nice view, very pleasant ambient. Seat outside! I love the “ arroz verde” and the pulp. But 3 people in our party had meat and didn”t like! The desserts are not so good also.

One expects a lot from a Michael Schwartz restaurant. Amara at Paraiso partially delivers. The location offers great waterfront views and a relaxing ambience. Staff are courteous, although perhaps a bit more distracted and less expert than I expected. The food is excellent, but the menu confuses in not noting that one gets no accompanying sides for the entrees, and my server did not tell me this. Prices are, as a result, quite high for what one gets. I enjoyed my evening but I was not left inclined to return.

My birthday dinner was totally amazing here. May 30. The atmosphere, the view, the staff, the food and of course I was in great company! It started with happy hour the drinks were unique and classy. Loved the cheese puffs. I want a do over on happy hour alone!. Dinner the soft shell crab is tasty and the oysters were the best. Try the empanadas you wont be disappointed. I wish they had more of a selection but there's something for everyone. Great background music. The outdoor seating was closed which was a bummer but I did get to walk outside and enjoy the view.

This restaurant has the perfect view of Biscayne Bay. The ambiance is set by the cool ocean breeze overlooking the water. The food is quite good and different. The menu is a bit limited but most will find something to enjoy. Definitely a hot spot for those in the know as it can be tricky to find.

We came here from South Beach, only 10 minutes away. All the food was impeccable. Everything was flavored and cooked perfectly. The service was excellent. The waterfront setting was NA, as it rained that night, but looked amazing. Everyone at the table loved the food. It was tasty, creative, and very unique to us. We don't have this type of Latin food in NYC. Thrilled with everything there. Can't say enough great things about the place. Also, an excellent wine list.

Unsatisfactory dining experience! They did not have my OpenTable reservation. Waited for 20 min and only got a table 10 min after we reminded them of our existence. Put us outside. Sticky wood tabletop. I asked for a tablecloth and was told I need to pay for it!!! The first line of tables next to water had tablecloths for 10 dollars. Waited for 15 minutes for a waiter to randomly discover us. When food eventually came, it was disappointing. Grilled vegetables soaked in oil. Sweet potatoes burnt. Skirt stake was okay. The rest was way below average, small portions but expensive. Our smoked fish dip never came. View was nice. I love dogs, but there were people walking all kinds of dogs in between the first and second line of tables and were bumping into our chairs. Ended up paying a huge bill for very little enjoyment. Disappointed!

We came here as a family for my birthday and had a blast. The waterfront creates a unique ambiance (highly recommend sitting outside). Everything we ordered was of superb quality; we ate every bite. There were some hiccups with the service, but the staff was gracious even though they were obviously overworked that day (new year's). We received some free appetizers after the food took a bit long to arrive. Would definitely come here again!

We could not get a table, so we were invited to sit at the bar. We had excellent service and amazing food. We shared small pates so the selection was creative and outstanding. What stood out most was our bartender/server Michelle. The place was PACKED and she kept making the most incredible drinks while smiling and keeping a steady rhythm. Almost all the cocktails have 5-6 ingredients, and it looked like the entire restaurant ordered one. She’s great at her job. We highly recommend this restaurant.

It was fantastic! we had our Corp Xmas Dinner Party at the retuantant and all coordination efforts were amazing. I would like a shout out to congratulate Billy and Ansary our main waitress whom both excelled at their job; they went to the next level in service with us, please share our appreciation with them . Looking forward to future events at this venue.

I visited this lovely restaurant yesterday after friends recommendations and I felt in love with it. The location by the bay is lovely , the view , ambience , outstanding service , good food , good drinks. Hours go by enjoying outside seating . Highly recommended . Another beautiful place in our lovely Miami

went for brunch for our granddaughter's birthday. There wer 4 of us. The restaurant is very attractive on Biscayne Bay. Great Views. A wonderful patio if you enjoy eating outdoors. Friendly attentive service and we sampled a wide variety of appetizers and dishes from Short Rib Empanadas to Pork Belly to Chorizo, crispy eggs, french toast. Tuna Tartare. Each one beautifully prepared and presented.

Food was good, been here several times before and used this place for a relative’s rehearsal dinner. Bartender ignored customers, did busy work even though he had two bar backs assisting, I knew they were bar backs because we had to ask them for orders multiple times. Too bad, pretty venue and we are Michael’s regulars but Michael’s actually has real bartenders.

Unfortunately, this was the worst dining experience we had in Miami. We love Mike’s but this was just a painful experience to sit through such bad service when being charged like we were dining in a fine restaurant. Our server brought wine after we started eating, they didn’t know prices of ‘large format’ dishes and didn’t serve the main courses at same time (seven people waited 10 minutes until the 8th guest got served). If you are going to charge 55 bucks for skirt steak with no accompaniment you really ought to, at least, get the dish to the table on time. Overall the food was good, menu was confusing (large format dishes - who knows what that means? Our server didn’t), the space is beautiful. Just wish it wasn’t such a long night.

Happening fun stylish restaurant with wonderful waterfront location. Very busy Saturday night smart crowd. Great cocktails. Delicious wood grilled shrimp and steaks and chorizo sausages. Excellent service.

Overpriced, poor food, noisy , one pays for the view, not worth returning, it was second time there and the last, difficult to access

What an absolutely amazing place!! The wait staff was superb, super fast and very attentive to our needs!! Our main server Rosalie was without a doubt the most upbeat , friendly and wonderful person we have ever had as a server!! Angel was super friendly, helpful and available when needed as well. The location was breathtaking, a view of the ocean :))) we sat on the patio and WOW what a view!! We had seafood platter , plantain with tuna and plantain with ceviche, tacos and kept ordering more and more. The meal was sooo delish!!! We have to visit Amara at Paraiso again! I’ve eaten at more than 300 restaurants in 75 countries and this takes the cake !!Definitely recommend them to anyone. WILL BE BACK SOON!

Amara is right on the waterfront offering a spectacular view. Food and service may be even better than the view. Had the chorizo, the yuca cheese puffs, the sun choke salad, the red snapper and the steak. Everything was amazing. Service was also very friendly and helpful. Would definitely return

Excellent view, food was delicious however the menu dont have many options , service was very good..

My friends and I came here Saturday night February 16th, it's such a beautiful restaurant and the view is breathtaking. For it to be a saturday night it was pretty busy. I loved it, the food was great, the ambiance. I definitely recommend this restaurant to someone who wants to enjoy great food, and a good vibe. It's definitely one of those tucked away gems here in Miami.

Best quality and price point for Miami. I get sushi or fish everywhere in Miami. I go out to eat 4-5 times a week. This was THE BEST snapper I’ve had in Miami. I got the cucumber cocktail without sugar! ALSO you must get the side of asparagus it’s literally the best I’ve had at a restaurant.

After mire than two years. We were finally back to Miami and to Amara. One of my favorite place in town. The New Eve Year is not the right night to judge the overall experience due to pre set Menu. But the service, the location and the view on the bay is still something magic. latin food is always a tasty. I will be back on a normal night to try the new menu and to feel in south america

Extremely disappointed at the quality of the food and how overpriced it is. The place/environment is beautiful, I have to say that service was great (our server was Rosemary), but I was shocked at how much we paid for what we ate (quantity and quality-wise). For starters, we ordered the yucca cheese puffs (who were delicious, though a bit heavy), the charred octopus, oysters, the tuna carpaccio, short rib empanadas, and steak tartare. The octopus was nice, as well as the empanadas (though the empanada dough was a bit too thick). The oysters were delicious, though extremely tiny (not really a problem). The steak tartare was one of the greatest disappointments. The portion was 0.4in thick, the appearance was not great and both the appearance as well as the tasted did not resemble at all a traditional steak tartare - none of the regular spices/condiments were there, and it was pale and unappealing. For the main course, we decided to share the meat parrillada. Though we asked for it to be cooked medium rare, everything was extremely overcooked (except for the chorizo). And charging 156 dollars for the amount (and quality) of meat that was served was honestly ridiculous. We will definitely not be going back, as there are tons of other restaurants, in Miami, Forth Lauderdale and surrounding areas, with the same nice ambiance, good service, but a much better cost/benefit.

Condo shopping in the area, stopped in here for a quick lunch. Ambiance and the water view are excellent. They had a great $20 two course lunch that we all took advantage of. Several choices for each course. Everyone had the grouper ceviche for a starter course, it was superb!! Off to a great start. Two of us had the salad with grilled chicken thighs for a main course, also excellent!! Two of us tried the tuna burger with roasted potatoes which was also very well done. The service was perfect throughout the lunch.

A hidden restaurant with just above average food and with below average service. Beautiful property with a nice ambiance.

We wanted a special outdoor spot and found it. Amara has an amazing location spilling out on to the small waterside walkway of an apartment complex that is little used. Amazing views of Miami Beach and two of the causeways. It was so nice and relaxing to sit at a table on their “beach” with umbrella and enjoY the view. Their weekend brunch menu is ample. We went at 3pm on Saturday for our late lunch and had fish dip and plantain cheese puffs and then we each had the snapper. We ordered a well priced bottle of wine and relaxed. Service was friendly. As we read about bad valet parking on this site I self parked in the design district and walked a mile to and from lunch. Too sunny getting there but perfect after dining as sun leaves the sky early this time of year. I did not see people upset with the valets and would probably use them next time. Those streets do seem too small for this huge apartment complex so I bet there is traffic sometimes.

Our son in law invited us for lunch at this t waterfront restaurant and we did not regret it. We arrived early so got a good table on the outside with a perfect view on the bay. We shared appetizers and I managed to check the tuna tiraditos, ceviche and avocado bowl but not the crispy octopus which was reportedly a remarkable. The ceviche made it to my list of best top three ever! The arroz verde attracted my attention first by the name which reminded me of the arroz negro of my youth in Spain. But this was something else: cilantro rice, mushroom escabeche, avocado, egg yolk and an amazing romesco, the Catalan magic sauce made of tomato, nyora a local Mediterranean pepper, garlic... with a little bit of lime juice on top of it. The Barcelona raised little boy that remains in me could not be merrier. An excellent Bandol rose (though I’ll never get used to the wine prices in the US) nailed it. The coffee from Panthers (local Miami brand) was a delight. So we left happy and content. A goodbye and a smile from the main hostess would have been a plus. But you can’t have it all.

My son lives in the Paraiso complex and has told me how much he likes to just walk down to Amara and enjoy a terrific meal. So on my recent trip to SoFL we went for a dinner. We had a late reservation (for Orange County CA time were I live, not Miami time) at 8PM and warmly greeted by the hostess and taken to our table on the patio overlooking Biscayne Bay. It was a nice evening as the earlier rain cooled down the temp. We started off with the Grouper Ceviche that was a wonderful choice, flavorful and each bite a delight. Our mains were the Grilled Red Snapper over jasmine rice with roasted cashew, pickled vegetables and with a green curry and the Grilled Skirt Steak and we shared these dishes. I loved the Snapper and the Skirt Steak was a close second. The steak was done perfectly as we ordered it and the Snapper was just perfect in the combinations of ingredients. Service was as expected, attentive but not overbearing. The location, view of the bay and of course the food makes Amara at Paraiso a must stop for a lunch or dinner. (Sorry no pics)

What a spectacular place. The restaurant is right on Biscayne Bay which makes for amazing views. Oh, and the food was amazing as well. We had a small group and were seated at two tables right next to each other, perfect accommodations for our size. We elected to order food family style although you do not have to do that. Wanted to try a little bit of everything. Highly recommend that, so many great dishes to sample. The fish was fresh, the steak cooked perfectly and flavorful, and one of the best burgers I have had in a while. Get some apps to pass around as well. Excellent service, multiple staff attending to our table all evening. Both outdoor and indoor seating but with the weather that night it was easy to make the decision to eat outdoors. There is a second floor area that is open during certain times and days. That would be an excellent place for a private party or event. Full restaurant service and beautiful bar up there, also looking right onto the water. A must if you are going to visit the Miami area. Can't wait to go back.

We had a birthday party dinner and the food was horrible. A wedge of cauliflower with a greyish brown sauce. Unattractive and not tasty at all. The service was poor and there were no appetizers or bread. Drinks were sugary and it was an outdoor venue with no fans.

On Saturday I was very excited to celebrate my birthday with the views of the beautiful Biscayne Bay, but the only thing I had was displeasure. We arrived at the restaurant on time and the only good thing we noticed was our waiter named Jose who did everything possible to make our stay pleasant but in reality it was not. The appetizers arrived about half an hour apart from each other, we ordered two French fries and supposedly they should be made together in the same fryer and they arrived one first and the other after half an hour. The food was not good, too expensive for what they offer. I think the management is not good, and there is no coordination. The candy took as if it had been made on the spot for more than half an hour. The food from the grill was taken in front of all the customers uncovered to the kitchen. They should prepare it right there and there wouldn't be so much manipulation. IT'S A SHAME THAT A PLACE WITH SO MUCH POTENTIAL HAS SO BAD SERVICE. I do not recommend it to anyone.

Reserved here for dinner and were pleasantly surprised. Our server Harrison was very good and the food from start to finish was delicious. The weather cooperated on this early Saturday evening and sitting outdoors by the bay added to the experience. We would return and highly recommend.

We went last night for Miami Spice extravaganza.. as we do every year to various restaurants..this is a mixed feeling review. The service 5 star.. location 5 star...ambiance 5 star, the appetizers were excellent to include the extras ordered, no issues with that. But of the two entrees being offered the fish was a disaster.. over seasoned and the same seasoning with the potatoes... too much...very salty, we told waitress to let the chef know. They did offer to exchange my plate. The chop and rice plate was divine, highly recommended for this menu. So based on the 50% of one good plate and one bad plate I give a three star for the food, everything else is above and beyond. We will be back, no doubt...

According to what I had been told, that was not what I heard. I thought they'd have a better deal and I really don't think it's that good quality.

Have dined here several and always enjoyed a great afternoon relaxing on the patio. Ambience , view atmosphere outstanding. Unfortunately on my most recent visit the rest of the experience just does not measure up to an upscale experience. The service is spotty. I have had execellent service a few times but recently it clearly depends on who you get for server. Some are great but many, including the one we have, are inattentive, and not so friendly. Just going through the motions. The menu is somewhat limited. We had trout dip, cheese puffs, octopus , prawns and hamburger. Trout dip just OK, cheese puffs actually very good, octopus not great- lot better options around town. Hamburger was good not great, nothing special. Prawns were well prepared and good. The problem was while these dishes were acceptable none were special, wow gotta have that again. For the price point they just do not make the cut. Far better food options for quality and service. Only thing that makes me return is the ambience. Wish they would pay more attention to good service and quality of food.

Located East of sketchy parts of Biscayne Blvd, Amaro at Paraiso is a Michael Schwartz restaurant jewel of fresh ingredient Miami dinning (emphasizing latin flavors). The outdoor dinning views are gorgeous. Service is highly professional. Reservations are a must. We enjoyed: Top notch cocktails (Margaritas, Manhattan (more citrus than classic Manhattan), Moscow Mule) Fresh fish dip & tostones - Must try! Empanadas (short rib; cheese-onion) - mouthwatering delicious Vegetable rice entree - very good Grilled trout - good Pan-roasted chicken - succulent! Tasty desserts (olive cake, pavlova, flan) - all good Open for several years, Amaro at Paraiso has actually gotten better over time ( a rarity)!! If you’ve never been, you owe yourself the treat!

Went on a Tuesday night and we were 6 people The food was super ok, we got empanadas octopus (this was actually good, it’s hard to cook it and it was perfect), tuna, a plate with grilled beef and seafood The food was good but very average, Nothing really shined The service tho, I think was the place where they can really improve Took very long for the drinks (the rest was 80% capacity) and the you had to spend 5 min trying to get the attention of the waiters Also, it was super expensive

My Brother and Sister treated my friends and I to a wonderful dinner at Amara in the up and coming area of Miami known as edge water. With fantastic views across The bay looking towards Miami Beach (best on a full moon). Reservations are required. Parking is provided. We ordered several things from appetizers, Maine dishes and deserts and just shared it all and enjoyed every morsel. We sat outside cool soft breeze perfect for a winter evening in south Florida. Views across the bay towards Miami Beach in the distance and it was a full moon night making for picture perfect night.

We wanted to have a nice dinner with a beautiful view, because it was a beautiful evening. The view was blocked because the restaurant was hosting a private, cocktail event. Plus, the people at the event kept walking by our table which was very annoying. The food was ok but nothing special. We had good service but won’t be going back anytime soon.

I was here this past Friday with friends and sadly was disappointed. We had both heard several good things about this place, and given the location we thought it would be fun. Service was extremely slow. Drinks came out fast. But slow service throughout, they forgot one of my friend's dishes he had ordered (which we later had to have them remove from the bill), and food that was average at best. I wanted to like it but I wouldnt go back.

Brand new restaurant. Ceviche was great, a colossus stone grab not worth it for the price. Cobra wrap in plantain and excess lent and the dessert sinful. Service was excellent I strongly recomemded

3 glasses of White wine $75 plus taxes, plus tips. No Comments.. Add good service, great atmosphere!!

Great restaurant but lousy valet parking. Broke door handle and did have the decency to mention it nor provide the missing part.

Large group so a fixed menu unfortunately. What we had was very good. Outdoor seating was too warm to be comfortable. Overall service was good and the group had a very positive experience.

The water view here is spectacular. Reserve for sunset and then watch the moon come out and sparkle on the bay. Unfortunately the price is truly high and the food is average at best. We had tasty fish dip with tostones and some dry yucca balls as appetizers. The server Faran was friendly and great. Our entrees took a long time to come out but it's a very pleasant place to sit around, so we didn't care. However, our entrees were disappointing. The catch of the day was a mushy filet on top of mushed-up yucca, not a great combo. The pork chop Milanese was too dry. The short rib dish was good enough but it was $59! The half chicken was just ok. We passed on dessert at this point; we were already at almost $400 for four of us with only one drink apiece (skip the Inca Spritz, which is more like soda pop). Considering this restaurant is part of Michael's Genuine in the Design District, which is reliably delicious, there seems to be no reason this restaurant is not equally good. It has one of the rarest views in Miami. This could be a gem. But it's not.

Had dinner on March 5, but not a great experience. we had a drink at the bar before dinner and our bartender was gruff and very unfriendly. This is not acceptable in a nice restaurant. We sat down to find the table was missing Cutlery and gum was stuck under the table. We were moved to the patio and sat outside. The food was good overall but the manager had zero skills when dealing with complaints. Best to avoid this place.

The food is offered off the menu and for larger parties family style. However, not your average family style. Fish, steak and chicken are all nicely done and tasty. Steak and Fish were excellent. The Empanadas were exceptional. Perfectly crispy with lots of flavor. The atmosphere is wonderful. Offers indoor and outdoor dining. If temps are right, grab an outdoor table if possible. Reservations would be a great idea. Our waiter Alex was great!

Great service, cool modern ambiance. Yes, the rice is good!! we had the smaller items to share and they were an interesting take on common Latin food. Flavors were good, not to strong but tasty.

This increasingly popular restaurant is in a new area on the bay. It has a nice view with outdoor dining, although my request when I reserved to have a table with a bay view was not honored. The food is excellent, but generally pricey (I think the number of $ signs should be extended to 4), as are the drinks. The service is attentive and we didn't not have to wait long for our food. It was too noisy on a Friday night to easily converse. I would be unlikely to return, since Miami has so many restaurants that are just as good for much better value.

We had an amazing dinner overlooking the bay. Food was fantastic. The service was good. The ambience and music very appropriate. It’s really worth visiting...

My husband and I ate here last week while vacationing in Miami. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful. The decor of the restaurant and the views outside are stunning. We were really paying attention to the level of service since so many people on here complained that the service was really poor. We had the exact opposite experience. The service we had was excellent! Both our waitress and the rest of the staff were attentive, took our order quickly, returned to the table to re-fill our water glasses, kept wiping our table down between courses, and our waitress really went over the menu with us and made recommendations since she knew it was our first time there. The food was so amazing that my husband and I decided to go to Michael Schwartz's other restaurant the next night, Michael's Genuine. Also wonderful! We can't wait to return to Miami and eat here again. Get the cheese puffs and the corn salad! Get the pumpkin swordfish! Get everything! It was all so good!

Overseen the bay with outside seating brings the perfect scenario for a great brunch, food and drinks were really good and the ambiance was happy and festive.

More expensive than Cipriani for a 5th of the quality & zero alcohol! Lamb was cold, chicken was tough and dry. We had no desserts or alcohol & the cost was astronomical, happy to pay it when the quality is reflected but sadly this place was a huge disappointment!

Do not eat At this restaurant. The portions are small and not good. The Snapper was ridiculous. The valet service took forever and the restaurant service was not impressive....

Pretty views, that’s it. Food was not good and extremely overpriced. The $54 red snapper was overcooked and had no taste. The steak was also overcooked. Our server acted as if he didn’t want to be there, wearing his sunglasses indoors as if he was at a rave. And even leaving was difficult. Valet couldn’t find our car and we waited over 20 minutes to get our car.

I was in Miami for a short visit and enjoyed a fantastic meal with a good friend. The service was fantastic and the meal (snapper) was one of the best I have ever experienced. More importantly, you should know what happened next. I left a jacket at the restaurant and didn't realize it until I was back in Virginia. A phone call to Paulette at reservations was friendly and empathetic with a promise to get with management. A short while later I heard from Ramiro (Manager) who assured me he would personally mail the jacket back to me, which he has done. Good to know there are still good people dedicated to providing superior service. Thanks to Paulette and Ramiro!

Dear Mr. Miki, You are one fantastic restaurant manager and a big asset to Amara at Paraíso! My husband and I live in South miami but enjoy visiting your restaurant with family and friends. Actually, I celebrated my last birthday with a group of ten family members back in October. On Thursday of last week I called the restaurant and reserved a table for four, outdoors. I asked about going earlier and sitting in the terrace for some drinks/appetizers before dinner and was told yes, it was on a first come first serve basis. So we arrived a little after 7pm to enjoy the sunset hour. That’s when we were informed that there was no reservation and the outdoor area was closed for a function. Imagine our disappointment! Your very nice hostess said we could sit at the bar for cocktails and afterwards there would be a table for us inside, but that the manager would come to see us at the bar...still I was very disappointed because I love sitting outside and looking out...that view is difficult to find in Miami. Then you showed up and everything changed :) The appetizers you sent us were delicious, (I always order those Yucca puffs) and the upstairs dinner was absolutely fabulous. Everything we ordered including the wine was delicious, the setting was beautiful, and we had the place to ourselves. I must make mention of Gelsy (or similar) with a big smile & pretty blue eyes at the bar area downstairs, and Amsara upstairs, they were both helpful and delightful. We will definitely come back & bring friends. Thank you again for your professional attention and making our night a complete success. Best regards, Alina

I had the most terrible experience yesterday at AMARA AT PARAISO which ruined my wedding anniversary! After calling this place all afternoon and only getting computer recorded messages, I went there to celebrate my anniversary with my wife to be stopped at the door after sending our Uber away, with a person telling us that the restaurant had been closed! No notice, nothing said in the innumerable recordings, no one picked up the phone ever. When I told him that we came from far away to celebrate there and just needed a corner or some food he replied: "there are more restaurants down the road, this place is closed for an event, period..." SO worst customer service experience of my life...

The view at this restaurant of Miami skyline is just amazing at nights. The service was excellent, and the food was very delicious. My entire experience at this restaurant was just wonderful. I Recommend this restaurant and I will definitely revisit.

Decided to come to Amara for brunch with a few of my girlfriends and let me tell you... best decision! Absolutely gorgeous ambiance/decor. By far one of the most athletically beautiful places I’ve ever been for brunch in Miami. Outside seating is a must! We were lucky enough to be seated outside right on the water secluded from other tables. Service is amazing. Our server was super attentive, gave amazing recommendations/suggestions. This is the perfect restaurant for a girls brunch, a sexy date and a place to bring out of town guests!

We visited for a light late lunch and found the quality and service by Bryan was outstanding. A delicious, juicy burger and amazing basque cheesecake were highlights together with exceptional Muscadet for an aperitif. Can’t understand the negative reviews (although they are around 18 months old now) and we would happily return. Judging by the stylish crowd who were present it is something of an insider secret. Yes, it’s not cheap but the portions are big enough to share and it’s in a great location. I can imagine the moonlight over the water would be pretty special for an evening visit.

It is 9:01pm still no food!!! Finally brought dish served like out of a refrigerator - service lousy - prices high — this is awful!!! Guess you can’t live on your reputation forever — time to get this place in shape - 3rd visit — 3 strikes you are out — don’t eat here - it’s far from fine dining. Seven guests with us so sad - rather go home and it a bowl of cereal.

Place is great overlooking the Miami skyline and beaches. Staff was wonderful and very accommodating.

The place is beautifully located right on the water. The service was ok, not great but not bad either. Just average. But considering the prices and the location I would’ve expected better service. The food was great. The French toast was absolutely amazing!! If you do brunch it is a must! I would definitely come back again to try the other menus but really enjoyed the brunch and amazing view.

Bad experience from start to finish. Humorless hosts After choosing the main dish (20 min), we were informed that it was not available. After choosing new dishes, the octopus arrived cold and hard. There was still a delay in the drink I chose I do not recommend

We had an early dinner at Amara today. The waterfront restaurant has beautiful views during daytime and at night. It is sophisticated and has a great ambience. Service was great, as well. We ordered yucca puffs, empanadas, ceviche and short ribs. Everything tasted delicious! I was not very impressed with the chocolate tart we had for dessert. We should have tried the strawberry merengue they recommended. Overall, excellent experience. We will definitely come back.

The server accommodated our interest to eat outside with an indoor reservation, what a treat! The food was superb!

Our third visit. We really enjoyed the ambiance, the food, and had outstanding service from Natalia. The whole grilled snapper was superb...the BEST whole roasted fish we’ve had. Not only was the texture perfect, but we loved the citrus flavoring. We’ve had fish prepared like this before but it is usually on the bland side as far as seasoning or flavoring. This version was full of flavor. The entire staff was very courteous and helpful to us. Natalia was very efficient and kind. She has a great smile and attitude towards service and we really enjoyed our evening.

Amara was correctly characterized as a place that would provide above average service at above average prices, but the food was not in the same category. It wasn't bad, it wasn't great, just sort of average. Not good enough to justify the high prices.

This is one of the wonderful restaurants in Miami, I mean, it is almost like a show where you can see beautiful people , have awesome drinks and eat an amazing food! The service is great and the view is fantastic, don’t miss it if you’re around! My fiancé and I are frequent clients!

The restaurant is situated facing the bay. Outside eating is a must here. Beautiful bay views coupled with a constant breeze makes this an ideal place for a breakfast, brunch or dinner. We ordered the surf and turf a parrillada that had a skirt steak, two chorizos, a red snapper two grilled shrimps and a grilled octopus. The dish was sufficient for my wife and I. After dinner we went upstairs to the deck for happy hour, which I highly recommend. The drinks are half price and they are well made. Tip, happy hour starts at 5:00pm and the second deck fills up within minutes. Make sure you’re there at five.

Our journey at Amara began with service that veered dangerously close to landing in a ditch. Fortunately, thanks to the attentive Billy, we were deftly rescued and enjoyed a most wonderful lunch on our first visit. We feasted on smoked wahoo (fish) dip, butternut squash soup, cheese bites, grilled fish and several ceviches all followed by a towering slice of ultra decadent coconut cake. Everything was so fresh and beautifully presented that even the rainy view of Biscayne Bay didn’t hamper our visit. We’ll definitely return for the wahoo dip and to explore more of the menu.

The places is beautiful, the food is good but nothing amazing, I have tried to call in advance more than 3 different events, no flexibility for sitting, to call the event coordinator is a nightmare, she is not interested in your business for large parties at all. 2nd time call for lunch a Wednesday for 10 people and the person says that we have to book 2 weeks in advance, I explained that we ended a meeting earlier and we have last minute plans, they said... NO.

Beautiful location and view of the bay. The food is innovative and good. It is served family style. Have been there several times for dinner. Had the parillada and whole fish and various side dishes and the food was excellent. Brunch is a different menu from the dinner service.

Terrible inattentive service at dinner last night. We ordered drinks from our waitress and we stll did not have them 25 minutes later and only after we let the waitress know. She was rarely in view. The food came soon enough but our plates were not cleared for about a half hour after we finished. The fish dip, yuca cheese puffs were ok. Radishes with hummus not so great. The Cobia main course was not appetizing and the octopus and fejoada dishes were ok.

This is the newest trendiest restaurant in MIA with a Latin flavor. Restaurant venue decor has beach chic theme, with bay and Miami Beach City views, open, outdoor, and rooftop seating areas. We sat outside under the terrace, weather was great and spectacular scenary.Wine list is over priced, not to happy about this...we ordered a bottle of Italian Sangiovese wine with simple aromas. Appetizers were good, quantity very small, ordered short ribs empanadas, stuffed yuca mash tater tots, and Spanish olives. For entrée Lamb Chops, Steak, sweet potatoes (Spanish style) not an American typical casserole. Dessert was fresh-Dulce Leche Flan was delicious. Overall the experience was very good although pricey for a party of 4 a $300 meal.

Unbelievably amazing!!! The view is stunning. The food is beautiful. The staff is superb. I will surly be back

All the food was impeccable. Everything was flavored and cooked perfectly. The service was excellent. The waterfront setting was quiet and soothing. All together very pleasant. Visit often.

The tuna appetizer was amazing, I had the spicy prawns and they were delectable. My husband had the catch of the day red snapper very flavorful. They don’t know how to make a Mai tai even our waiter agreed what the bartender tried to serve was a mojito. That being said the service was excellent and the view beautiful despite the rain.

Amazing views and just as good food. On Tuesday's they do $1 oysters, how could you go wrong. It’s right on the water providing the best dinner view. And all the food was very tasty. Highly recommend oysters, of course, and the chicken empanadas. Service was a little slow but the food made up for it.

I’ll definitely be back soon! I actually tried on Wednesday but it was 10:30am and they didn’t open until 11:30 so I had to go to Whole Foods.

Great place and location, food is okay. Expensive but I guess you are paying the view. Good service, I went for my friend’s birthday.

I made a brunch reservation at Amara for waterside dining. They have a beautiful view of Biscayne Bay. Unfortunately, it was storming--just horrible weather, and they had to close the outside seating. Nevertheless, we sat on the patio and watched the wind and rain while we dined in fabulous style. The food--from the fresh stone crab claws and the best seared octopus I've ever had--was excellent, as were the cocktails, especially my wife's rum drink, served in a coconut shell. Our entrees were also perfect and the service was exceptional. We felt like we were VIPs. The staff was great. If you live in Miami like we do, you know that there are not near as many waterfront restaurants as one would expect. Even fewer are actually GOOD. We plan on coming back when the weather is better, and I highly recommend this hidden gem.

I have been to Amara several times. In the past, the service, food and atmosphere were all superb. This time the service experience was horrendous. The food was fine. We were seated inside. It was very warm. After a short time we ordered drinks and food. We received drinks and water and then we were entirely left alone. We ordered shrimp and oysters as an appetizer and steak and eggs. The appetizers were supposed to come first. We were seated at a high traffic area and watched many staff members pass by. The one person who never came by was our food server. After 1/2 hour or so, someone brought out our main course. We requested our appetizers and sent back the main. The manager was informed of the problem and initially went to the wrong table to find out what was happening. We waived her down and told her that we had sent back the main course and were waiting for our appetizers. They arrived while we were talking to her. The manager brought an additional dish to us to compensate for the error. We sent it back as we weren't interested in eating more food. We were also offered a comped dessert which we turned down. Amara did comp one of our appetizers. The point here is that we went to Amara for the atmosphere and relaxing experience. The restaurant was quite warm. The service was a series of unforced errors. Rather than paying attention after the first error and improving the service, they kept on doubling down on bad.

Amara comes highly recommended by all my Miami friends. It lived up to the high expectations of excellent and innovative food, beautiful and fragrant environment, lively views and fine service. Brunch is one of its best experiences. It’s always busy and waiting for an outside table is normal even with a reservation. Most of the hostesses are charming and accommodating (all but Doris). Their cart with delicious broiled meats (and I’m not a carnivore) is unique and tempting. Their dessert cart will force you to choose a couple. The restaurant emanates a fragrance of spices like thyme and rosemary. Only downside is valet parking on weekends is expensive and takes forever to get cars at the end of the meal. So order it before leaving your table!

Can’t believe I didn’t do a review of this place before! I just realized it when I chose it for my boyfriend’s upcoming birthday dinner, and I remembered how interesting and amazing their menu is. Everything is very creative with a Caribbean and Latin flair. I can’t list everything we had because it was four of us and we ordered many plates. After the meal I was always looking for the next occasion to come back! By the way the location on Biscayne Bay leaves nothing to be desired!

At first I was very disappointed because I had made reservations to sit outside by the water for our anniversary. When we got there they didn't have anything outside and they couldn't tell me how long the wait for a table outside was either. Then they sat us on a bar stool at the corner of the restaurant which was VERY HOT! Finally after we complained they sat us outside by the water on 2 couches and a little side table. We then waited approximately 15 mins before someone even approached us to see if we were being assisted. The server that was assigned to our area was very nice and apologized for inconvenience. The food and atmosphere were great but the introductory service leaves a lot to be desired if Amara is to be considered an "upscale" dining experience. I expected more from a Michael Schwartz restaurant...

If you’re looking for a picture perfect restaurant location this is your choice. The gorgeous view of the water, the sun drenched patio, and the seamless transition between indoor and outdoor. WOW! Aside from the view and Instagram capabilities, the food, the service, and the valet were mediocre. $160 after tip for 3 hamburgers and a red snapper platter. No alcohol, no specialty coffee, no soda, just tap water costing $160 after tip for 3 hamburgers and a snapper platter? I’m sorry but it’s a no from me. Our server was amazing but the rest staff could care less about what you spend, just make sure you don’t stand in their way or they will rudely bump into you. My mom asked to get the car and before she asked for our valet ticket demanded the $15 and then snatched it from her hand. $160 for a insta pic and a few burgers no alcohol or specialty drinks. Won’t be back unless it’s for an insta pic with my dog or cocktails with the girls.

Went here for my birthday dinner and the food is outstanding - we ate all vegetarian and fish dishes and loved everything. Wine and cocktails also great, really wonderful...

The restaurant is set in a gorgeous park-like waterfront setting. Absolutely perfect. It could use some tablecloths on the tables, but they chose to omit. We were 4 guests and ordered a variety of appetizers and salads and only 3 main courses. The food came pretty fast but was only mediocre. Even the empanadas which I was looking forward to sampling were dry, non-flaky crust and although I could tell that the meat had some spices in it, it was so stringy and dry I could barely consume it. The salads were nicely spiced. The rest (fish, seafood) was meh.

One could not ask for a more beautiful setting. We had a table right on the edge of Biscayne Bay. That is the positive. Service was OK but not great. The server was not familiar with how the food was prepared (something every fine restaurant should train for). Given our party has someone with a food allergy, there was too much back to the kitchen over and over to get answers. The food itself was OK , but given the price point one would have expected better preparation and service. Our table had entrees delivered piecemeal so some of us sat for many minutes without food. Please note that this a residential neighborhood with very limited parking so one is essentially forced into valet parking at a high cost for 1-2 hours. We ate the previous night on Calle Ocho and found the food both tastier and cheaper. I have eaten extensively across the globe and don't mind price if the quality justifies it. This restaurant depends of being "hip and cool" more than it does on the food. Of course, if that is your idea of a good night out than it might be worth it.

There is nothing good about this restaurant other than the view – don't be fooled……this is probably one of the worst restaurant experiences I can ever recall! We made a reservation for outdoor dining, so the hostess sat us at a table near the water, with no umbrella, under a scorching 90+ degree sun. We asked to be seated at a different table, somewhere on the patio under the pergola or at a table with an umbrella, we were told to wait, so we went to the bar, where we ordered a prosecco, a beer, and an appetizer, we received the drinks, and eventually, the hostess came to takes us to a better table outdoor then a waiter brought the appetizer we requested at the bar ( a mediocre cevice). After that, nobody else showed up…we didn't have any utensils, napkins, small plates to eat the appetizer…..so we waited and waited and waited…… eventually my husband asked a server to give us some plates and utensils and then that was it, no official waiter came to ask us if we want to order food or drinks….NOTHING!!!….eventually we asked another waiter to bring us a check, which she did plus a big attitude like "what's your problem?" and then we left….. and WE WILL NEVER BE BACK!

I love the ambience and the food. I do not lot the slow service and the ridiculous premium paid to eat outside!

Although a beautiful setting outside on the intercoastal, clearly there were not enough staff. Service extremely slow. Food was poor. Burgers burnt and ran out of buns. Fish of day oily and tasteless. Seafood tower might better be called a mini tower and way overpriced. Couldn't get a second glass of wine in time to finish eating. Overall, nice setting, poor and overpriced food.

It was my birthday dinner. Horrible experience. I was served a large piece of cauliflower and a small salad that was called family style and had to be shared amongst us. $169 for this . We had to search for servers so many times they didn’t even come and clear away the plates after cake never been more disappointed by a meal or service

The view are incredible and the brunch is a lot of fun! Parking was easy, even though they offer valet we were able to park right in front. Prices on the drinks are pretty high but it's miami I guess. Overall good experience

The location and the food is good, but although it started as a not too noisy place, it is now very noisy, and very disappointing

My parents were in town visiting and decided to meet up with some family friends here for dinner. I was excited because I knew the building/restaurant were new and I kept seeing it pop up when I had been researching restaurants for the weekend. We made a reservation for 7pm on Sunday night. The place was a little difficult to find, but once we got there, I had high hopes. It looked cool and was bustling. We found our friends at the bar who told us the restaurant was still setting up our table. Finally at 7:20pm, we were seated. That’s how the night began. We ordered drinks around 7:30pm and around 8pm realized we hadn’t received our drinks and no one had come back to take our order. And we were sitting literally in the middle of the dining room. It took us flagging down our waitress, and she seemed surprised that our drinks had not come yet (I thought this would have been her job?). So around 8:05pm we finally got our drinks and ordered. The “snack” appetizers we ordered came out pretty quickly. They gave us complementary yuca cheese puffs that were alright (7/10). The fish dip was okay and the radishes weren’t very impressive. Then after a while our main courses came out. I had ordered the spicy grilled shrimp which I figured out quickly there was no nice way to eat, so I was eating them with my hands in a white dress, and suffice to say was very messy. They tasted good but nothing I was blown away by and it was such a hassle to eat I wouldn’t recommend it. Two of the guys got the Meat Parrillada- a more traditional Brazilian dish that came with a lot of food, and again neither of them were very impressed (both said they would give it a 5/10). My dad got the half chicken and besides the chicken, he didn’t like the other things it came with. For my mom, she ordered the yellowtail and felt as though there was so many spices added that she couldn’t even taste the fish. And again the service, was really quite terrible. Many times our waitress disappeared or just didn’t come back for very long stretches of time. We would have to wave her down or flag down someone else to find her. For a restaurant that just opened and is supposed to be “hot” on the restaurant scene in Miami, they really need to clean up their act, improve their service, and work on their food as well. We all left agreeing our money would be better spent elsewhere and that we wouldn’t be going back.

Was there today for brunch with some friends. Lets start with good things about this place and that is only one - location and beautiful water view. Hostesses were also very nice with us. And thats it. Other side of this place is that food was disgusting. Three of us had something like chorizo in burger buns snd i had to say that was the worst meal i had in a restaurant in years. They serve that with ff which was acidic. What the hell was that? One of friends ordered orange juice and they brought her half empty glass with excuse that they are out if small glasses!?!?!? So why are you embarrassing yourself with half empty glass then, bring full glass of whatever was ordered. Obviously this place lacks in management and stuff training. My buddy had aperol spritz and he said it was terrible. Thank god i ordered only glass of water. Definitely not recommending this place for anything!

Lovely setting Good service Food above average Good value Recommended for romantic dinner Request outdoors

This restaurant came highly recommended as somewhere in Miami that offered a Latin American experience with a waterfront location. We had high hopes but were sadly disappointed and wouldn’t return or recommend. Overcrowded bar - although drinks very good - and slow to be seated. Lots of groups waiting to be seated, so we weren’t alone. Table service is attentive and the place is very busy. But sadly the food didn’t live up to the hype, it was piping hot but lacked flavour which is surprising because even the salads had too much salt on.

Successfully operational during the coronavirus pandmeic, Amara at Paraiso with its large amount of outdoor dinning is a welcome relief from quarantine. Valet parking ($10) is pretty much the only option in this part of town (approx. 31st Street, a few blocks East of Biscayne Blvd). The ambience is gorgeous; the breezy, covered, outdoor dinning seating offers GORGEOUS WATERFRONT views of the bay (This has always been a favored spot of ours to take pre-pandemic out-of-town visitors). The outdoor seating is comfortable, and with very adequate spacing between all tables. Waiters are all masked, and menus are disposable paper. A hand sanitizer squeeze bottle is on all tables. The menu choices show very little change since our last visit in late 2019. Alas, the quality and preparation of the food items seems to have definitely slipped. On this visit we tried: House margarita - perfectly good Bees knees whiskey cocktail - overly tart (heavy lemon); lacking balance and sweetness (honey) - I've had much better Grilled chorizo sausage - quite good Tuna tostado - barely 4 or 5 small pieces of tuna on a heavy fried tostada (with mayo and lime flavors overpowering the appetizer) - I would NOT order this item again! Burger & fries - (1) the brisket/short rib cheeseburger on a soft warm bun was quite good (2) the sitting-around large batch of lukewarm french fries with unacceptably subpar for a restaurant of this caliber i.e. not piping hot; not crispy, not made-to-order Strawberry sorbet dessert - homemade; good (not great) In summary, during this pandemic I'm (still) glad to see Amara at Paraiso open & functioning. The Ambience, gorgeous waterfront views, and safety all get an A+ rating. Alas, the menu items (food and drink) have definitely slipped a notch (compared to their opening 1-2 years ago), and I hope more attention to the details will restore the prior much higher food quality.

Ambiance and food was amazing, unfortunately the service was absolutely terrible. We started off with a round of drinks and apps, and specified to the server that we would be ordering more. Plenty of other staff came by to maintain the table and we even asked one of them for the server to order more, but still she didn’t come by. We gave up, and decided to end then dinner at that.

Beautiful decoration indoors and outdoors with the floor full of white shells, not to mention the landscape from the sea and the city and the horizon. Also super friendly staff. Went for a burger with fries which were delicious, but the highlight goes to the dessert: hazelnut praline was simply amazing. Perfect place for sunny days.

We visited the restaurant for a group dinner / drinks meeting, and the setting was great !... good seaview from the terrace ... Staf was very friendly, and the quality of the food was great!

I had the ceviche. Let me tell you what, it was good! Then for my second course I had the crispy cabbage. Mmmmm My boyfriend had the pork belly sandwich and his kid had the chicken thigh sandwich. We were very impressed with everything and the ambiance could not have been better on their outdoor patio. The service was over the top. We almost moved in we had such a great time!

On the last day of our vacation in Miami, we asked the hotel concierge to recommend a lunch place that was on the water. He recommended Amara. This place really did a nice job on all the important points. Every staff member was friendly and efficient. We sat outside on a breezy day and loved the view and vibe. To top it off the lunch special was outstanding. My wife had the charred Tuna burger and I had the Choriza Sandwich ( or something like that). It was fried pork belly with chorizo in a sandwich. Delicious and sophisticated. We were surprised at how reasonable the cost of the meal was given the quality and environment ( about $20 each for appetizer and sandwich). Great Job!

Waterfront dining. Great tasting food. Fantastic service. We visited Amara after enjoying the Miami F1. We wanted a lower key place in Miami but still enjoy the ambiance. The parrilla grill was supreme. Very happy to find this gem.

I've always wondered how you can spoil a restaurant with an excellent location and expensive repairs, but this restaurant once again shows what you can! Terrible cuisine, we were there with a family of 5 people and we could not find any dish at least normal, everything was very salty and most importantly overcooked to black, I can't imagine how the cook could allow this to be given to the guests.

Great location outdoor restaurant quite unusual in Miami , good food and not too noisy!new location in Miami

I really love this place!! I was there with a friend for a dinner and they show me rhe seafood 🦞 best plates amazing choice. Thanks to our server angelica and the manager marcus.

The food was a mixed bag. The ceviche was good, but with cardamom which was odd, the yuca cheese puffs were good, chicken a bit overcooked with what seemed to be allspice, the asparagus had some basal and dill in it which also seemed strange. The service was very good. Cocktails were good too. It is a pretty restaurant with nice outdoor space.

We came back for the second time this week because the restaurant has good service and reasonable food. But they need serious feedback on the price in general and of the wine in particular. First of all it seems an American disease to price wines over 10$ a glass regardless of its quality or quantity. But here they have overdone it. I ordered a second glass of chilled Chilean wine because the Rioja was so overpriced and small in Quantity that I hoped it was a mistake. The second wine was worse in quality AND quantity. For the price of a wine where in Europe we could get three bottles I expect either quality or a descent glass in quantity. None of the above. Better your life and we will be back.

Fabulous food, venue and service. We tried the house cocktail too which was fabulous. The Heirloom tomatoes were so delicious and the catch of the day great too.

huge disappointment with food .... All my friends also tried this restaurant and they all have the same reviews great location thats all

Excellent experience! Astonishing view, the attention was excellent as food was. I celebrate my wedding anniversary and everything was perfect

quite good restaurant with a beautiful view on Miami bay. food is very tasty and refine, we had raw sea food and meat and it was perfect. selection of wine is fine and too much expensive if you select well and south America ones. anyway clearly it is not cheap restaurant but it worth the money.

My husband and I went here for dinner the first night of our honeymoon and it was amazing! We got the octopus as an appetizer and the scallops and fish as our meals. All the seafood was incredibly fresh and they have a great wine selection. On Mondays you can get any bottle for HALF price - what a steal. The sommelier was friendly and helpful. You can sit out on the patio or literally feet away from the water where you have a view of the bridge. They recommended the coconut cake and brought it out with a sparkler for us. We loved Amara and we would definitely return if we come back to Miami!

My first experience was not as good as I needed it to be. The food was good. But, the service was not good enough. I complained and the Manager was very receptive and professional. She invited me back. My second experience was significantly better. Food, service, and environment were great.

We had a fabulous experience sitting on the patio for dinner at Amara at Paraiso. The food, service and cocktails were all excellent and the view was spectacular. We will definitely return on our next Miami visit.

I loved the outside seating for dinner. There are even some couches available to sit around and have drinks with your friends. It was a very interesting experience. The food was very different and presented very well. The next time I come here, I'd like to try their brunch.

Amazing place with a solid latín cuisine concept very well performed and an excellent service. The place has a great ambiance and design, but for gourmands the food is the real reason to visit the place. Don’t miss the yucca puffs and the grill octopus.

Excellent service and excellent ambience. The food was delicious. I would highly recommend going. This is my second timeline and I would definitely go again.

The restaurant is located on the water and has a very nice view. We sat outside and spent Sunday afternoon there. Even though we had a reservation we had to wait. We had the brunch menu which was limited and the food and service average.

Best of Miami. Really enjoyed the Peach Salad with goat cheese. Good service, excellent view of the water from the outdoor (covered) back patio. Would recommend.

This restaurant is very special! The ambiance, the view and decor transport you to paradise. The food is very good. The flavors, presentation and portions are great. Noticed new staff, Juan was our waiter. He is energetic, caring and efficient. The owners are walking around, helping out, serving water, refreshing drinks. We felt well treated, which made the experience outstanding. Thank you Amara at Paradise for making an extra effort to provide great service. I’m glad we gave them a 2nd chance. The valet is a bit pricey.

Simple food good food. A Michael Schwartz restaurant on the water with a great outside patio seating. Good service with simple food. The valet are a pain, not their fault, but the people of the Paraiso complex do not allow them to leave cars up front. So if you have a nice car and don’t want the valet to touch or drive it, you might want to go elsewhere. Nowhere in Miami is this an issue. Here it is. Fix it!! Did not really take pics of the food.

2 hours delay to bring the food, bad experience. The food was not good They did nothing to improve our dinner.

Love this restaurant! the views are beautiful and the service is amazing. We had steak, oysters, crab and drinks. Everything was amazing!

This is a fantastic place with amazing views and great food. The seafood platter with ceviche, oysters, crab, prawns and co…fresh and delicious and the octopus appetizer was so tender…incredible. Dessert - tres leches cake and tres leches flan were the perfect ending to a perfect meal.
Trendy Waterfront Restaurant
One of those perfect spots! Location... Views... Exciting menu... nice sized portions, not too large... or small. Quality food and presentation makes you look forward to your next visit.
