What a bargain

By BillC612 |

Ameer's is an order at the counter place but the food was excellent. We tried most of the standard Middle Eastern items - stuffed grape leaves, hummus, baba ganoush, lamb kebabs, mixed grill and it was all very good. Also a terrific bargain. It wasn't that expensive and we took home enough leftovers for 2 lunches.

Top Notch quality and value!!!!

By CasWoodstock_GA |

The best without question Mediterranean food in the city. The food was delicious and authentic middle eastern/Mediterranean fare. The owner chef is passionate about his menu and goes the extra mile to be hospitable and very accommodating. The Kibeeh was outstanding as was everything else we had. The falafel was fresh and tasted incredibly good. We wound up ordering food for us to take home in addition to our leftovers. Way to Go Besam!!!! you got it right!!!!!!!

Great Mediterranean food

By Saba |

Had the sampler platter. Absolutely everything wad terrific. The baba ganeush was smooth and Smokey, the eggplant salad tasty and the falafel the best I have had outside Israel. The portions are large. The restaurant is clean, service is fast and friendly, and the prices are reasonable. I will be back

The best middle Eastern food

By smalltownlove |

The owner is so nice and friendly . The food was amazing . Falafel and Kibi like your mom would make . Baba Ganoush was so good . I got another order to go . Kefta and rice so good . Wish I lived closer than Tennessee .

Disappointing

By PEB-TX |

We are Mediterranean food lovers. After a recommendation from an acquaintance and seeing the very good online reviews, my wife and I arrived for a Saturday lunch. We ordered hummus, baba ganoush, lamb and beef kabobs. The strip mall location and atmosphere were average. The bread was average and looked store-bought. The appetizers were decent (the baba ganoush was better than the hummus). The kabobs were downright disappointing and frankly barely edible. Overcooked and tough, I managed to chew my way through a few small bits but left most of this expensive meal on the table. We will not return.

Great Greek Food!

By Hopie_Don |

I see mixed reviews on here. I'm from NYC where we eat Gyros and all kind of food. This place reminds me of my days in NYC. The food was great lamb, beef cooked well, the Greek salad mixed right. Everything on the menu is good. Go for yourself and form your own opinion.

Casual Middle Eastern Delight!

By Azua |

Ameer's offers excellent, hearty-portioned authentic Middle Eastern food at reasonable prices. I frequently get takeout and have never dined-in. Parking can be a challenge on weekends when neighboring business Dip 'N Dab is hosting parties. If you don't mind crossing a busy Briarcliff Rd, save yourself the parking difficulties and park in the large lot across the street at the strip mall. My Favorites: Labani yogurt cheese Lebanese salad (included with entree purchase) Tabouli *The fresh pita bread that comes with dips is outstanding--warm, soft, thick, chewy Chicken Shawarma platter w/delicious basmati rice that is warmly and well-seasoned The only item I've ever ordered that I didn't love was the Fatoush Salad. It was made well, just not my preferred style. This is a great clean and friendly Middle Eastern neighborhood eatery! Highly recommended!

Delicious falafel!

By panpanda |

Nothing beats hot, fresh falafel and warm pita bread and Ameer's Mediterranean Grill delivers. I enjoyed a wonderful , reasonably priced restaurant Huge portion of Middle Eastern tomato / cucumber salad. Piping hot pita bread. Fresh, crisp falafel, with 6 pieces on the plate. Something spicy and yummy called Turkish salad and some hummus. All this for $9.99!

Pleasantly surprised

By AllenATL |

Very tasty and fresh. The decor and atmosphere are unassuming, but the food makes it all OK. Large portions make it a great value. Definitely worth a try.

Mediterranean at its finest

By Eric G |

We truly enjoyed the sandwiches we received at this fine establishment. The atmosphere and food presentation may be lacking but the food completely makes up for it. About 20 people in the restaurant during lunch and our order came less then ten minutes. If you are looking for a good Med lunch sport with good prices look no further.

very good libanese food

By Juan H P |

I was not expecting this good. It was a really good surprise, the place is very small but worth it, it is close enought to the Fernback Museum so you can drop by after a morning of walking in the museum. The food is just very good, the vine leaves were great, I have never had them cold, and this was interesting, I still prefer them hot, but this was really good. everything else was just great thanks!!!

Consistently good Mediterranean / Arab cuisine with generous portions, relaxed setting

By PublicHealthRxDoc |

We have found Ameer's to consistently provided tasty Mediterranean / Arab dishes at a quite reasonable price. The wait staff is always friendly. There is not a huge selection, but we have always had most enjoyable meals here, and enjoy taking friends from out of town, as well as family here. They always serve excellent fish (tilapia, salmon) entrees, hummus, bread, and simple salads. I'd recommend their salmon dishes, and for dessert, baklava. Unlike many places, it is not too sweet. Entertainment: The last time we were there it was "Arab Idol" on the monitor, the time before that, Lebanese singers in an MTV format. Parking lot is right in front. Any limitation: The view is fronting to the street, but the food always make up for it. This is an ideal place for casual dining at tables or booth, a date, or family get together. Have had as many as 12 people here for dinner over the Winter Solstice season, and it might be a stretch to bring too large a crowd (e.g. a class reunion). Kindly note if you find this review helpful.

Was disappointed

By Robin T |

I decided to eat here after reading the reviews of this place. Frankly , I was disappointed. Mind you , I didn't say that the food was bad , but not upto the level I had thought. Let's start with the Hummus, I had better hummus than what they serve here, again it was not bad. Chicken shawarma was good but again I've had better. We also tried the baklava and it was bad ... It was no where close to how good it actually is. Again , this is not a bad place but not as good as hyped !

The food is good

By smalltownlove |

The food is still very good . This was my second time eating here with my family from out of state . The owner seemed to be in a bad mood and not welcoming . We where overcharged . Not on purpose . The kibbie was off that day . But if you don’t mind the service . I will always say the food is good .

Good food

By Gary2001 |

The food was great! I recommend this buffet place with exotic food but obviously this restaurant can improve the environment. ..

Wonderful!

By tlindseyb |

This Mediterranean restaurant is fantastic. The falafel is the best I've had anywhere and the fatoush, which I'd never had, is my new favorite salad! The buffet has a variety of dishes I would've never normally tried but was pleasantly surprised by how great everything was. I definitely recommend!

Hidden Gem for the Mediterranean food lovers!

By Sonia V |

Here is another restaurant that will surprise you, one of those places you drive by and think nothing of it, but it is when you enter this place and meet the people who run it, when you realize that this place is worth the visit. Greeted by the manager who immediately makes you feel like an old friend, as you were coming to his house for dinner, then he introduce us to the chef who let us try one of his dessert creations, since it was our first time, we ask for suggestions, they immediately gave us the sampler appetizer and the mix grill, great dishes for those who have never had Mediterranean food. This is no fancy place, but the food they make is absolutely amazing, lots of flavor, you can tell they care for the food they make, well presented, great portions, and definitely a place I will come back for more. Great place for casual lunch, dinner with friends before going out, family friendly for sure!

Extraordinary hospitality and amazing food

By Lindsey M |

Sonny, the owner, has quite a character and makes the experience one to remember. Each dish has a story and the mediterranean cuisine is unlike any other in the area.

Delicious, clean, and fresh food!

By Blittry |

My husband works in the area and brought me for lunch. We were on a diet and the service was so accommodating and helpful. The food was so flavorful and authentic. Great addition to the area! The chicken Shawarma was outstanding!

Very Good Schwarma!

By SandBAtlanta |

We just recently visited the Middle East, and we were craving this type of food. I would describe Ameer's as more Lebanese than Mediterranean, but either way you slice it, this is the real deal. You will order at the counter and pay, then your food will be delivered to your table. Schwarma and Kabobs are the go-to at Ameer's. They have random things like schnitzel, french fries and wings on their menu, which I don't really understand, but again, stick with the Lebanese dishes and you won't be disappointed. We shared a large platter of chicken and lamb schwarma which came with arabic rice, falafel, turkish salad (cucumbers, onions, tomatoes) and hummus. The schwarma platter also included warm pita bread. And we added a side of grape leaves. The schwarma was authentic - tasted just like it did on our vacation. Grape leaves were also really good. This is not a fancy place. The springs in the booths are busted. The tables are wonky and there really isn't much of an atmosphere. But ... it's reasonably priced, portions are huge and the folks who run the joint are from Lebanon. I would recommend Ameer's if you want to stay inside the perimeter, but I gotta keep it real ... the Mediterranean Bakery on Chamblee Tucker is better and worth the drive :)

Great experience

By ACube |

We stopped here on our way back to Baton Rouge, we wish there was a similar restaurant in Baton Rouge. Restaurant is good, could use some renovation or decoration to add some spirit to it. The restroom was clean. The staff was cheerful and tried to help. Sometimes they serve but usually they require you to pick up your own food, I didn't figure out why the inconsistency. The food tasted great, the chicken shawerma was good but the kabobs were great. My wife enjoyed the fried shrimp a lot and she is usually the picky kind of type. The salads and fries were very nice. Menu is fully halal.

Shawarmalicious

By Kurt H |

Buy at counter, sit and they bring the food to you--fast service type of restaurant with well above average food for this type of restaurant. While i don't think the chain is 4-5star (vs. full service restaurants), a solid 3.5 star is warranted and it earns it. Shawarma was solidly tasty, with good sauces. For a fast service-type restaurant, clearly above average. I would definitely come back for fast Lebanese food.

great lunch

By Tanna L |

Friends go here all the time so they suggested it. The olive oil in the hummus is outstanding. So much flavor. I got the lamb skewer, pretty good. The falafel and other fried items had a wonderful crunchy exterior. Definitely recommend. Friend had the lamb shank, also very tasty according to him. Place is moderately priced, definitely worth hitting if you are in the mood for Mediterranean.

Good Food, Clean, Prices are good

By denny h |

We ate late lunch here and the shawarma chicken, beef and lamb were tasty, falafel, pita, baba ganoush, ALL GOOD and prices are decent.

Authenticity to the maximum!

By F A |

If you are looking for 100% authentic arabic food then this is the spot! Food taste just like if not better then back home

False Advertising on Their Website but huge pricing difference once there.

By Susie C |

this restaurant has lots of online photos of their food with prices like 7.95 but when you pick it up to go, it is almost twice what their online menu says. They actually get irrated with you when you question this and show them a photo of their online price. They will not honor their on line price and regardless of the several times we have mentioned it, They have made no attempt to correct their online menu or their yelp menu. Their food is on bad but this is huge when you take advantage of customers like this. I cannot give a restaurant who knows their prices are twice what their advertising says but choses not to do anything about it then asts bad to the customer.

Great Authentic food!

By Mary T |

I cant wait to return! We had the chicken and steak kabobs. Loved the Salad the came with and the rice was perfect! Had Babba Ganish for an appetizer. Wonderful flavors, Wonder soft pita bread! We arrived early, probably just before 5:00 and the place was deserted. SO, I was a bit skeptical. But once we started eating the place filled up! Soon the place was filled with huge smiles and delicious smells.

Really friendly neighborhood restaurant. Worth going to regularly.

By PublicHealthRxDoc |

Family enjoys going here about every two to three weeks for a relaxed and friendly meal. Portions are generous and the variety of Greek and Mediterranean choices is always pleasant. Prices are moderate. The real pleasure is how Sonny always makes you feel welcome. Always able to get a good vegetarian or fish dish. Really enjoy their tilapia - plus it's a "sustainable" fish (can go t oMonterey Bay Aquarium web site for more info) that tastes good. Relaxed atrmosphere. A tie would make me feel out of place. Parking lot just in front.

Weekly visitor for years

By Sheila M |

Everything is always delicious - hot and fresh. The team treats me really well and we've been coming for years. The falafel and hummus are must haves. Rarely able to finish it all. Take out orders are wrapped really well and packed with care. Love them

Very good

By JoanaLola |

Not only is the staff extremely friendly but the food is amazing, too. We had the lamb and steak shawarma dish, the chicken and steak kebob dish, and a side of falafels. So good! The dishes came with hummus, which was delicious. We will definitely be back!

New location in Kennesaw! 41 just N of Kennesaw Due West

By Terry S |

Excellent Mediterranean food! The shawarma, kabob, tabbouleh, hummus all are fresh and delicious. Will definitely be back. Thanks Ameer for coming to West Cobb.

No one was thrilled

By imlin3 |

We ate here with people who had raved about their prior visit. They were disappointed by the change in a relatively short period of time. The atmosphere was worse (and smaller, due to a new wall) and so was the food. They, as well as us, were underwhelmed. The lamb was overcooked, dry and tough. I for one will not be going back.

We love Ameer's

By DawnousAtl |

We eat in. We carry out. We meet people for lunch. Very delicious and authentic. If it bothers you that there is a TV always on playing someone reading the Koran, then get takeout, but don't skip it. Really excellent. Great price. Great portions.

Great food!!

By Maryam Y |

Loved the food! Very good shawarma sandwich and fattoush salad! The hummus with bread was delicious. Service was good as well! Definitely recommend this place!

My favorite Mediterranean in Atlanta

By dmcguir1 |

Really good food, and they're quick (but it's not fast food). Love their falafel, and I always walk away full. I treat myself every week or two.

Average take-out

By 3rh0 |

We got Ameer’s delivered through DoorDash. We got the chicken shawarma and falafel plate. The pita wasn’t homemade (at least it didn’t taste or look like it), which was a letdown. The chicken shawarma was delicious—both the rice and chicken had great flavor. The falafel was average. The Arabic salad had an overwhelming amount of parsley in it. I wasn’t a huge fan of the hummus, and the babaganoush wasn’t anything special. For both meals, included service charge, but not including tip, it turned out to be $30. Not my favorite mediterranean meal in Atlanta, but it was a fast and easy delivery.

Lackluster!

By Ralph M |

For a Friday lunch at their Cobb parkway eatery, it was empty, not busy, service wanting, food just there...no wow effect...I don’t know why I tipped the server at the end. An eatery not worth visiting again.

Best falafel in Atlanta

By msbaileyhoover |

Ameer’s was absolutely fantastic today. The restaurant itself was very clean. The staff was efficient and professional, but it was the falafel sandwich that was spectacular. It was freshly cooked, crisp on the outside, with a creamy inside and fresh, delicious pita. We all gobbled it so fast, I forgot to take a picture! It’s the best falafel I’ve had in Atlanta for sure. Great job 👍🏻

Fresh and Yummmmmmmy

By Peaceful H |

Went there for dinner. The place was not filled. Food was great so was the service. Will visit again.

Awesome Mediterranean food

By ranken |

It seems like every time we dine in or order out from Ameer's the food is better than the last time. Nothing fancy looking about the place, just really, really good and authentic tasting Mediterranean food. We usually get the vegetarian dishes (Sampler or Falafel Plate) and are never disappointed.

Stay Away, Not Worth it!

By Dream67686957102 |

Horrible. Dried chicken, dried rice, scraps of lamb on yellow rice and the meal was flavorless! I have visited before over the years and returned only to be reminded why I should not return, especially when there are some many better options available.

Slow service and food was OK

By asknox |

The lunch service was very very slow and the food was at best bland and not very flavorful. Staff was not very attentive and in my opinion pricey.

First time at this restaurant; won't be the last

By Michael L |

This was an alternative to a restaurant that was next door which didn't seem as appealing this time. We tried this because I figured it couldn't be bad. It's not a fancy restaurant, but like quite a few "holes in the wall," it belies what it offers. The only downside is that the person who took our orders did not tell us that we needed to get our own drinks after ordering them. I know now. The food was authentic and delicious. The food reminded me of what I remember as "street" food in downtown Tel Aviv. We both had the beef and lamb shwarma combination. Next time, I'll check out the specials - they looked just as enticing. Definitely a place to try again.

Fresh, delicious Mediterranean food

By panpanda |

For under $14, I received two large pieces of grilled tilapia, about 3 tablespoons of hummus, a huge piece of hot pita bread, an enormous Israeli salad, and a fountain drink. Since the food was awesome, that's a spectacular lunch deal Fellow patrons were disappointed that their lunch buffet doesn't operate on Mondays. I look forward to returning for lunch another day and trying the buffet!

Love me some Hummus

By rjhope9 |

Had a great date night here at Ameer's. My gf and I wanted to try a blend of things so we got three dishes. The ticket was a little high but was exepected with ordering 3 entree's. I would defintely recommend no need to order an app of hummus as it comes with all meals. Also the chicken is super well done...recommend all dishes with that protein. No wine sold there though...but you can buy next door and bring it in.

This place is great...

By ahmonroe5 |

I took a business collegue to Ameer's after reading it on the Creative Loafing 100 Best Dishes in Atlanta list. We tried the Falafal and the Lamb with Hummus. The Falafal was great, some of the best I've had in the US. The owner gave us a Turkish Salad and Babaganoush as an add on for our first visit. The lamb with hummus was good, but I would probably try the Schwarmma next time. The Turkish Salad was great, I will get it again. I really enjoyed Ameer's, it was not nearly crowded enough for as good as the food was, and I can't wait for my next visit.

OMG

By LaKaya B |

This made my stomach VERY happy! The delivery was on time, the food was warm and tasty. They even did a great job accommodating a last minute rush lunch hour change. I can't wait to eat there again!

Good Value Authentic Mediterranean Food

By Lorrie D |

The food is good not great. But good enough to return multiple time for a well price conveniently located neighborhood restaurant. The staff is extremely nice and accommodating.

A nice evenings with friends

By Vernon B |

Driving up to this storefront is not particularly endearing. Neither are the plain furnishings inside. You will just have to settle for good food and pleasant people and a doggy bag for leftovers. We were a party of three. Had a split appetizer (humus, yummy) followed by two entrees to split and another side order. Everything was quite good. Falafel was the best. You go to the register to order and he keeps a tab open for the evening. He was good with recommendations and very helpful. We were there early so thee was not a crowd. When we left the tables were full but the service seemed to be the same. I will certainly come back. We recommended it to our college sophomore granddaughter and her friends. The cost was reasonable and the quantity was plenty.

THE BEST ARABIC FOOD IN ATLANTA!!!! MAYBE IN THE WORLD!!!!

By Brett G |

I love this place. The food is simply delicious. I used to live in the neighborhood and make it a frequent habit of eating at Ameer's. The chef, Sammy, certainly can deliver incredible Arabic (Middle Eastern) food. Yum. I am a vegetarian so I haven't eaten any of the meat and can't really comment on that. The rest is fabulous.

Excellent Authentic Mediterranean Cuisine

By WellDressedMan17 |

Stopped by for lunch and was pleasantly surprised with the quality and variety of dishes served ! The food is really great and service was excellent ! Very friendly and helpful staff. The labani was very flavorful and portions are large. The Arabic coffee was very good...I highly recommend stopping in if you want authentic quality Middle Eastern cuisine.

Loved it!

By Maya1212 |

The staff is very very friendly, I ordered a beef and lamb shawarma sandwich, as well as kebbe and they were so good!!! The meat was perfect! I recommend it to anyone!

Authentic and delicious

By sicilianprincess1 |

We were staying in Buckhead during an evacuation from Wilmington NC, and are used to staying in other parts if Atlanta. We were pleased to find an authentic Mediterranean restaurant close by. We actually used uber to have it delivered... the portions were plenty and good made to order (1 vegan and 2 vegetarians and a meat eater in the family). We were happy and had plenty to eat with leftovers.

Authentic, affordable and delicious!

By Colleen D |

Ameer's Mediterranean Grill offers a wonderful selection of authentic Lebanese and Middle Eastern dishes. As a family of vegetarians our choices are limited in most restaurants. At Ameer's we feasted on so many different ad delicious menu items it would be tough to choose our favorite! The tabbouli was flavored with just the right amount of tart citrus, but not in an overpowering way. Grape Leaves had the exotic essence of herbs and spices of the Mediterranean. Smooth and creamy hummus, smokey babaghanouj, Lebanese salad with cucumbers, falafel that's crisp on the outside and tender on the inside-not a bit greasy or mushy, and garlic sauce so savory and delicious we brought some home, all graced our palates. Make sure to order the Turkish Salad, if not included with your selection. We didn't eat any of the meat dishes, however they did a fair amount of take-out orders that seemed to include shawarma and kabobs. We've dined at many Mediterranean restaurants in the Decatur and Atlanta area. Amber's is by far the best we've experienced. Check it out!

Best Falafel in Atlanta

By msbaileyhoover |

I have always been disappointed with falafel in Atlanta. A friend told me how good Ameer’s falafel was and she was exactly right. Ameer’s has the falafel as it should be- it was crunchy outside, green and creamy on the inside. The pita bread was warm and was packed with falafel. Perfect! The atmosphere was good, music great and the staff was courteous. It’s not very far from Emory either. Great job Ameer’s!

Good food, reasonably priced

By LotsaTraveling |

I was staying at a nearby hotel and stopped in for carry out. Service was prompt and my order was accurate. The food was good. Standard Mediterranean fare but good. I would definitely eat here again.

Holy CRAP! How Have I Lived in ATL for 20 Years and Never Eaten Here?

By ATLconsultant |

There was a protest at Piedmont Park so my normal M.E. restaurant had closed early. I was really set on a lamb shank. I search the web. THIS place was the only one i could find with lamb shank within 5 miles. I'm off in search of shank. We decided to get a chicken schwarma and a lamb shank to split. The lamb shank came with rice (haven't tried it yet) and a DELICIOUS cucumber and tomato salad! The lamb appears to have been cooked with potatoes. It was a wonderful sauce and the lamb was cooked to perfection!! We were salivating at every bite. YUM. I was so worried the shank wouldn't live up to my favorite M.E. place near my home but it was BETTER!! And the chicken schwarma we split was HEAVENLY. The bread was soft and flavorful and freshly baked. The chicken and sauce were were just perfect. Best schwarma I've ever eaten in Atlanta. Reminded me of one i had eaten in Israel last year. Fries were a little undercooked but who cares? They're fries. They nailed it in all the main places where it counts. And portions were quite big. Excellent food. I have a new middle eastern favorite in Atlanta. SO SO good.

Great food

By TheRealW |

The Med food here is great. Had the hummus, eggplant, and cream cheese dips as apps which were all spot on. The lamb shank was delicious. I will certainly return. Place is also vegetarian friendly too. Well done Ameer.

A Great Dinner!

By Tina K |

My daughter was traveling with her volleyball team to the area and I was looking for a restaurant to try. A few other moms and I arrived around 4:15 and were thrilled with the cuisine! The Schwarma was delicious as was the fatayer. Look forward to another visit!

Delicious. Large portions!

By panpanda |

Mediterranean food is what I frequently crave and this place is delicious. Arabic music videos are playing on the restaurant tv. Not speaking Arabic, it's amazing how much of the music video plots you can pick up visually. Anyway, back to the food. Several platters of Mediterranean food are set up to show the customer what's available. Trying to eat a bit healthier these days, Ameer's kindly prepared two tasty chicken kebobs on top of a large, chopped, tomato and cucumber salad.

They really give you your money's worth!

By HelpfulAngel |

It was kind of late and we were hungry and looking for something quick and satisfying to eat, so we came across this Mediterranean joint in Decatur. We were quite surprised that they had a late night buffet, which seemed pretty substantial but there wasn't a lot on it that we could eat. We ordered the appetizer sampler and falafel wraps. There was a lot of food! The food was good too! The service was pleasant. The sampler was large enough to feed 4 people and the falafel wraps were so big that we had enough left over for lunch the next day. We would definitely go back. We really enjoyed the food. They definitely give you your money's worth!

Delicious, reasonably-priced middle eastern food

By SusanAtlanta_GA |

Fresh, tasty food...homemade and the owner is on-site. The kabob plate is great, and comes with salad, hummus and pita bread. Our family loves it!

Yes, it's pretty authentic and pretty good

By Paul C |

Met an old friend for lunch (he's from Libya) and had a wonderful meal. Nothing fancy about the place but the shishlick, hummus and falafel were dependable and you get a lot! It's now a real go-to for me when it comes to middle eastern cuisine.

Disappointing

By Jo E |

I was visiting friends and they suggested trying this restaurant (they had never been). I love Mediterranean food and so I was looking forward it. I have had some surprising and good experiences at small strip mall eateries - this was not one of them. It isn't about the noise or total lack of an inviting atmosphere I could overlook all of that if the food had been good but it was not. I had the chicken shwarma and the chicken was overcooked and very dry, the rice was also overcooked and tasteless. I was very disappointed and would not recommend nor return to this restaurant.

Wow - Delicious!

By IDM_11 |

Was searching for Greek or Mediterranean food in the area and found this place on TA. It was everything I hoped it would be but didn't begin to imagine it would be. Arabic salad was fresh, crunchy, zesty, pita was the best I've ever had in Atlanta, tahini dressing was perfect, kafka were huge and moist with a nice crunchy coating (not oily), shwarma and kabobs were cooked and seasoned perfectly. They said they would be opening a full table service restaurant on Holcomb Bridge road close to HWY 9 in the next few months. Can't wait to try that one as well. Hoping it will provide the food fix I usually go to Rumi's for without the high price tag.

Delicious!

By Lolita D |

My friend introduced me to this place and then I came back again with more friends! We really enjoyed the food and the portion size is humongous! We had the chicken Shawarma sandwich which is chicken stuffed in pita bread. So yummy! And the fries are fat and fresh and have great seasoning. The combo plates are excellent! The rice is so flavorful and the kebabs and meat are tender and tasty. The combo plates come with pita bread and hummus, falafel and salad, and a drink too! It's more than you could have asked for! Service is quick and the wait staff friendly. This is my new fav restaurant.

Something Has Changed!

By fabricfairy |

We've been to Ameers several times previously and even brought family and friends to try because we loved it so much. Well, on this recent visit, something was lacking. The difference in the food and lack of friendliness was definitely noticed. We ordered chicken swarma and the fatoush salad. The salad was just was delicious, but the swarma was disappointing. The chicken was grilled and dry with none of the lovely juiciness that we enjoyed in the past. Also, the pita bread was not quite as soft and airy as before. Something was off and it just wasn't as enjoyable. I almost get the feeling that the business has changed hands. The guy at the register was very straight faced and not friendly. They've recently opened up the wall the the space next door making for a much larger dining area. Hopefully, they'll add some artwork or something to warm it up. It's kind of sterile right now. There was a big buffet on the new side of the wall, but the guy at the register never offered it to us and it wasn't visible unless you walked to the other side. We thought he should have let us know it was available in addition to the menu. Anyway, I hope it was just off that day and things will return to the way I had experienced it previously. Sorry Ameers!

Good Middle Eastern Food in Atlanta - Ameer's

By 1TrippyTraveler |

Ameer's Mediterranean has delicious Middle Eastern cuisine. I recommend the beef and lamb shawarma and the humus. The shawarma comes with very flavorful rice and a salad. My friend said the rice tasted like crack. It was that good. There is not much ambiance at the restaurant so don't let that put you off. Give Ameer's a try and you will be pleasantly surprised.

A fantastic little find....

By Pierre1999 |

We were in the mood for mid-Eastern food, and came upon this unassuming place in a small strip mall. Inside, nothing fancy, but the flavors of the chicken, lamb, rice and tabbouleh were excellent. they seemed to do a busy takeout business too. I'd be back when in town.

Take out was disgraceful

By Linda G |

We ordered take out for a family gathering of 7 people...adults. missed a primary order. The chicken kabob sandwiches were not kabob and just mushy with sauce. Chicken was cut up. Family left most food. It was a waste of $.

Good food and fast service.

By ZeeAAA |

Enjoyed the food and the service. Will certainly visit again. Only wish there was an area to pray. The food was a little pricier than what I'm used to in other cities like Detroit or Houston. The lamb needed to be more tender than it was but most restaurants cook lamb like they cook beef and ruin it.

Very good food, not much atmosphere

By David908 |

I had the Lamb/Beef Shawarma Sandwirch, which was very good. Some of the meat chunks were dry; they must have been on the outside of the rotisserie for too long, but the entire sandwich was very good. Service was a not the best. They did not bring the food for one member until he asked for it. Ameer's is located in a small strip mall, and the atmosphere reflects it. Could be better. It is a fine place to go for a quick, good sandwich.

Can't wait to go back!

By Bridget T |

We ate at Ameer's based on the great reviews. Boy was it worth it! Such flavorful food! Great variety in texture, taste, etc. We will be back! Hopefully soon! The gentleman at the counter was very informative and welcoming. :)

Tasty and fast!

We stopped in with the intention of getting some gyros, so we ordered the lamb and beef shawarmas. They were very tasty, filling and you get a lot of food for your money! The falafel was good, the fries were good and the shawarmas were good. I’ll definitely come back!

One of the best Mediterranean in Atlanta!

By HappaNAtl |

I lived in Germany for four years and experienced many different cultures as I traveled throughout Europe. One of my favorite cuisines is Mediterranean, and the first time I ate here at Ameer’s I was hooked! If you haven't tried this restaurant and want some genuinely authentic Mediterranean food then you must come here. If you don’t you will be missing some truly outstanding food and service.

Have to wonder what part of middle east food represents

By Michael W |

What was supposed to be gyro meat was more like a roast beef. Off seasoning not typical to average middle eastern restaurant. Shawarma was also not typical pressed chicken meat. Again, not the normal seasoning. But this time it was a good seasoning. Hummus creamy and a delight. Cucumber and tomato salad top rate. Rice so so.
